The Brother's Keeper
A Dick Grayson and Batsis One-Shot
Word Count: 2.7K Warnings: Explicit Language, Angst, References to Past Abuse
Author's Note: Another story edited and re-posted! Enjoy! -Thorne
Despite having not lived at the manor for almost a decade, she still knew every hallway and room like the back of her hand, every sound was a familiar net of reassurance she could count on. The hum of the hidden wall closing behind her, the creaking of the third step from the top that they always avoided, the clicking the bats above made. She descended the steps into the cave, balancing the heavy manila files in one hand, the other holding two protein shakes, knowing her father probably hadn’t consumed nutrition in at least a few hours since he called her.
Her eyes fell on him where he sat at the Batcomputer; he’d changed out of his suit and was in a pair of joggers and a long sleeve shirt. She walked over, setting the files down beside the keyboard. “Here’s the files you asked about, dad. I alphabetized them too
and color tabbed ‘em but that’s not important.”
He glanced at her with a warm smile before nodding and turning back to the screen. “Thank you, sweetheart. I appreciate you doing so.”
She leaned an arm on the back of the chair, propping her chin on his shoulder as she stared at the screen. “New antidote for Scarecrow’s toxin?”
“He’s synthesized a new formula, so I need to make a new antidote in case anyone gets gassed,” he replied, tapping at the screen until the numbers were apparently in approval with whatever he was thinking about—who knew.
She hummed, taking note of the lack of noise. “Where’re the chuckle-heads?”
He chuckled and tipped his head towards the locker room. “They put their suits away and went to change.” She nodded again and patted his shoulder before walking off in the direction of the room.
When she got there, she didn’t see them, but she could hear them harking on one another in the locker room, and she moved in that direction. She stepped into the room and took in the image of the four of her brothers standing in front of the mirrors in their underwear, pointing at each other like they were shocked to see the other.
“Do I even want to know?” she asked, unblinkingly.
Their heads shot up and they saw her; Dick greeted, “(Y/N)! What are you doing here? You usually don’t come to the manor.”
(Y/N) shrugged and stepped inside, taking a seat on one of the cool metal benches. “Dad needed some files over a few previous encounters I’ve had with galactic enemies. And me being here brings me back to my original question.” She gestured to them with a wave of a hand, brows furrowed in confusion. “Why are you guys in your tighty-whities?”
They snorted, and Jason turned around. “We’re comparing scars.”
(Y/N) let out a ‘pfft’. “Of course, you are.” She paused for a second and observed them. “Who’s got the gnarliest one?” Immediately, they pointed at Damian who simply motioned to his chest, and she looked at the faded scar that rested over his heart.
A frown instantly drew her lips, and Damian, being ever so vigilant, caught it and shook his head. “It wasn’t your fault, sister. You tried to save me.”
She met his eyes and murmured, “I didn’t try hard enough.” She glanced at Jason, seeing the scars line his chest, her voice just as soft. “For either of you.”
Jason’s lips pulled downwards, and he walked over, sitting on the bench beside her. “The fact that you tried is good enough for us, Queenie.” He reached out, patting her head.
She sighed and shook it off, giving them a smile before she turned to Tim. “Any on you Nerd-bird?”
He grinned and turned around, running his hand along a scar that rested along the left side of his ribs. “When I fought Ra’s, he got me right here.”
(Y/N) looked at it, then leaned back, a curious look in her eye. “Other than dad, aren’t you the only person he’s called ‘detective’?” Tim gave her a firm nod and she pulled a grin, nodding at him. “Look at the Nerd-bird kicking all our asses in the game. I’m proud of you.” He gave her a sheepish smile and she turned to Dick. “We’ve all had brushes with death, but I don’t think you have a lot of noticeable ones. Which is surprising because out of all of us, you’re the most reckless.”
The others laughed while Dick glared at her, then he shrugged and showed his back, and they saw faint white lines that resembled lightning strikes. “When Wally came back out of the speed force, he accidentally shocked me. Of course, it wasn’t enough to damage me severely, but it’s here.”
They looked at him once more, then Tim tipped his head to the side. “What about you, sis? You’ve been doing this longer than we have. Do you have any good ones?” (Y/N) looked at him before pulling off her jacket and pulling off the tank top she had on. She stood up, walking to the mirror and staring into it.
She pointed to one that lined across her left breast. “Even covered by my bra, you can see how badly this one was.” She paused running a hand down it, gaze far. “When Jason died, I got into it with Joker some time after.” (Y/N)’s eyes drifted to Jason’s, who’s were wide with shock. “I beat him worse than dad did, but he left me with this one before I did.”
“I
didn’t know you did that, Queenie.”
“Of course not Jason. I didn’t tell you.” (Y/N) pointed to a patch that rested on her right hip. “Took a bullet for Tim a few years ago.”
“That was when Deadshot was running around, right?”
She nodded, answering his question. “Mhm. They say he never misses. But that day, he did.” Her hand moved and she touched a curved scar that ran down her neck. “After you died, Damian, I found Talia and we had it out.”
“What happened?” he questioned curiously.
(Y/N) met his eyes in the mirror and frowned. “She and I gave each other a fair share of wounds
but I think the ones I gave her hurt more than the ones she gave me.”
“And those were?”
(Y/N) looked back at her reflection and stared at herself. “The infuriated words of a grieving sister.”
Silence enveloped the room and after a few moments, Dick pointed to a particular scar on her back that ran down the length of it. “How in the world did you get that one?”
She looked over her shoulder and reached behind her, fingers brushing over the raised, jagged skin that had sealed unevenly. “On my back?”
Dick snorted and nodded. “The only one on your back sis.”
She went silent for a moment then she admitted, “
Tarantula gave it to me a few years ago.”
No one noticed the way Dick froze for a split second at her admittance, and Jason asked, “Why did you and Tarantula get into it?”
Her eyes met Dick’s for a flash before she looked at Jason. “She killed an informant of mine and I got even with her.”
“Looks like she rocked your shit, Queenie.”
The others laughed, save for her and Dick, then (Y/N) muttered darkly, “I beat Catalina Flores within an inch of her life that night.” Her statement brought their laughter to a grinding halt, and she continued. “Hell, I almost killed her. But I didn’t.”
Damian crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. “And why not? It would not be the first time you’ve killed someone.”
(Y/N) rolled her shoulders and moved back to her clothes, pulling on the tank top and jacket before turning to him. “Because then she would’ve gotten of scot free, and she wouldn’t have to live knowing what she’s done.”
Jason’s eyebrows furrowed and he followed Damian, crossing his arms and leaning against the lockers. “Not to be nosey, but the way you’re talking about her almost seems like you’ve got a vendetta against her. And I mean like, me to Bruce vendetta.”
(Y/N) met his gaze before reaching down and tossing his muscle tank to him, then passing the others their shirts. “The informant she killed was a good friend of mine. There was
a lot of fury.” She paused, meeting Dick’s gaze once more. “There still is.”
The others simply stared at her before pulling on their shirts, and she looked at them. “I’m gonna get dad to go out and eat somewhere with me. You guys go on out and start working on him, would you?” The three nodded and started towards the door, (Y/N) following.
She was almost out of the door when Dick’s voice reached her quietly. “
(Y/N)?” She paused, turning around, and looking at Dick, who wore an unreadable expression; he glanced up at her, his eyes searching as he inquired, “Was there another reason that you two fought?”
“Me and Catalina?” He nodded and she shrugged. “There might’ve been. But the immediate fight was about my informant.”
Dick stared at her for a few moments before whispering, “
You didn’t start your informant network until I donned Batman.”
(Y/N) tipped her head back and leaned against the door frame, eyes narrowed as she mentally picked his words apart as only an older sister could. “What are you getting at, kid brother?”
He fell silent all at once, but when he finally found it in himself to bring his eyes to hers, she saw such pain in them. “Did you fight her
because of me?”
“No,” she immediately replied, firmly and confidently.
Dick’s eyes widened momentarily, but he looked down and nodded. “I see.”
She kept staring at him, then cleared her throat and turned, grabbing the doorknob. She pulled the door open and stopped, murmuring, “Dick.” He glanced up at her, but she faced forward and said, “I don’t know what happened to you in BlĂŒdhaven all those years ago, and frankly, it’s none of my business.”
Dick’s heart sunk at her words, but then she looked over her shoulder, a solemn tone matching her stance and gaze as she affirmed, “But I am your sister
and I run the best damn informant network this side of the galaxy.” She paused, her words taking on an underlying tone. “There isn’t anything that happens in Gotham and our sister city that I don’t know about.”
Something passed between their eyes and she declared, “I am the family keeper. And I will always be the safety net that catches everyone when they’re in their darkest hours. When there’s something you can’t handle, I will for you.”
Her words made his eyes shine with unshed tears and she gave him a faint smile and a wink before she stepped out of the locker room, leaving him sitting alone, his thoughts drifting back to the rooftop in BlĂŒdhaven.
***
She walked across the floor of the cave to see her father standing there, Jason and Tim hanging off his arms and Damian around his neck; he wore the expression of a tired dad and she couldn’t help but laugh at him. “Having fun, dad?”
He shifted slowly as to not knock one of her brothers off and glared at her. “This is your fault.”
“Guilty as charged father dearest! But it’s food time! Let’s get street tacos.”
Jason grunted at her and shook his head. “No, let’s get gyros!”
“Gyros are disgusting, Jason.”
His features contorted in something only described as an insulted disbelief and he declared, “Just because you don’t like limes and lemons, does not mean gyros are gross, (Y/N).”
“We’re not getting gyros, Jason,” she shot back.
“What about Chinese food?”
(Y/N) looked at Damian and nodded. “I’m down for tacos or Chinese.”
“Can we stop and get some shawarma?”
“Tim, which part of tacos or Chinese sounded like shawarma to you? It’s one or the other. Take your pick.”
“But last night was pizza night! And if I eat Chinese or tacos, I’m going to eat more carbs than I need!”
“You do need more carbs, twig-boy.”
“That was mean, sis.”
“Truthful. I mean how have you not been snapped in half yet? You look like a toothpick.”
The others laughed at her comments, and Bruce looked at her. “Where’s Dick?”
(Y/N) tipped her head back to the lockers. “Still changing.” She motioned to the stairs. “You guys go ahead. I’ll wait on Dickie.” They nodded, and she watched her father trudge past with her three brothers hanging off him.
A smile crossed her lips and a few minutes later, she heard footsteps behind her. “Where’d everybody go?”
She turned around and nodded to the stairs. “Told them to go ahead and get ready.” (Y/N) had barely made it up the first ten steps when she felt Dick stop beside her, and she glanced back at him. “Dick? You good?”
He gazed up at her. “Thank you, (Y/N).”
She gave him a knowing look and said, “I didn’t do anything, Dick.”
“You did.”
“Agree to disagree.” They stared at each other for a second then she tipped her head to the stairs. “Let’s go get some food, kid brother.”
He nodded and started climbing the steps beside her. “I don’t tell you enough, sis
but I love you.”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes and mumbled, “God, you are so sentimental.”
“It’s one of my perks.”
“More like a curse
but yeah
it is.” She paused and he stopped beside her, and she reached over, wrapping her arms around his waist. “I love you too, little brother.” His arms wound around her, and they shared a moment before she patted his back. “Alright. Let go. I’m done being overly affectionate.”
He laughed, letting her go and she walked up ahead of him. He kept his eyes trained to her back, and he remembered something she once told him.
The two of them walked silently down the twisting and turning garden path, following the little white concrete plates that made the trail. Dick looked up from his hands, calling out to the older girl in front of him. “(Y/N)?”
She hummed in response but didn’t look at him. “What is it, Dickie?”
“Why won’t you let me walk beside you?”
(Y/N) glanced over her shoulder. “Because I’m protecting you.”
His head tipped to the side and he stopped walking. “But were at the manor?”
“And something could always happen. I’m in the front, so that if something comes, I can protect you while you run.” She turned around and looked at him. “One day you’ll be old enough to walk beside me instead of behind me.”
Dick’s eyes widened and he jumped excitedly. “When! When do I get to walk beside you instead of behind!”
(Y/N) giggled at her little brother and reached out, holding his shoulders to stop him from jumping up and down. “When you don’t need me to protect you anymore
you can walk beside me.”
“When will that be?”
(Y/N) pulled her hands away and spun back around, continuing her walk. “When it happens
you’ll know.” It was all the answer she gave the young boy, but he continued following her, still behind.
Dick blinked, the memory flashing away as fast as it had come, and he saw her back once more; he called out to her. “When do I get to walk beside you instead of behind?”
(Y/N) halted, mid-step and she glanced over her shoulder, a faint smile playing her lips as she replied, “When you don’t need me to protect you anymore, you can walk beside me.”
“And when will that be?”
She huffed a laugh chuckled at him before she turned back around, though she paused just as she was about to cross the threshold and peered back at him. “Don’t you already know the answer to that?”
“I’m not sure I’ll ever know the answer to that one, sis.”
(Y/N) shrugged and turned back around, declaring, “Then I guess you still need me to protect you.”
Dick watched her disappear into the manor, listening as she got into the argument that her brothers were bickering about with each other, and he smiled faintly. “Yeah
I guess I still do.”

Note
would you do 9. with commander fox for kinktober? any of the prompts would be amazing! (or all three if you’re feeling particularly adventurous haha)
(and could you tag me for the month?)
Thank your for the request and apologies for the delay lovely. It seems I'm just destined to running behind this month.
[Masterlist] [Kinktober Masterlist]
#9- Lingerie Commander Fox x fem!reader Rating: Explicit (18+) Warnings: explicit sexual material, clothed male/ mostly naked female, slight brat taming vibes, singular mention of alcohol
Despite the fact the Galactic Senate was supposed to be for the people, it was more often than not a place of opulence. The reality of it was often bemoaned by your boss, Senator Organa, but he understood the need to match the rest of the senate in order to play the game of politics. The senate ball was one of these necessary evils. While you agreed with Bail on the matter of luxury, it was fun to have a reason to dress up every once in a while. Your boss had been kind enough to invite you, his most senior aide, as his plus one to this year’s ball, giving you just the excuse you needed to dress up and be a bit of tease. Fox had told you weeks ago about the Chancellors plan to have the Corrie Guard run security for the event, and complained about it being a waste of time, for which he was not wrong. You may have failed to mention during the conversation that you would be in attendance and kept your most recent purchase a secret from him.
With Fox’s nature it should not have come as a surprise to you that he loved seeing you in his colors, but the thought had not crossed your mind before you innocently wore a red dress into work one day. The Commander had promptly dragged you into a supply closet and made you cum all over his fingers before sending you back to work on wobbly legs. While you could not wear such an obvious dress to the ball, you would be wearing a grey number to subtly match your boss’s grey and white dress suit, what was underneath would be all for Fox. The lacy red set you had found had been worth every credit. Not only would Fox love the meaning, but it fit in a way that hugged you curves just right. Even if it hadn’t been in Fox’s color, you’re sure he would have appreciated the look.
You feel stunning walking into the senate hall the night of the ball. You may not have Senator Amidala’s impressive wardrobe, but you still feel a million credits because there was really only one person whose opinion mattered. A few of the guard give you discreet nods in greeting as you arrive and you are sure Fox will know you’re here long before you see him. His brothers were the nosey type, that could be counted as a fact.
You finally spot him and Thire standing on either of the entrance to the ballroom. As subtle as possible you work your way to the edge of the crowd. Keen eyed as usual he spots you nearly instantly. He stiffens under all that armor as you make eye contact, or what you assume is eye contact through his visor. You are as casual as possible when you approach. It was not uncommon for the aides to be familiar with the unit providing security detail to the senate building. Even before you had known Fox, you had often coordinated the senator’s schedule and security with the clone guard. So, it was not too out of order for you to stop and address Fox, as co-workers, of course.
“Commander,” you shoot him your best demure smile.
“Ma’am.” He nods back, voice curt. You can safely assume you managed to surprise him.
“I hope you’re not working too hard tonight.” An unassuming enough conversation to have between acquaintances. Yet while you calmly hold his gaze you let one hand drift down to your thigh, fiddling with the slit in the side of your dress. It comes up to about mid-thigh, nothing too risquĂ© for a gathering your technically on the clock for, but high enough that you can have some fun with. The slight tilt of Fox’s helmet is enough to know his eyes are following your wandering hand. Perfect. Hooking one finger into the hem you drag the fabric up the rest of your thigh, giving Fox an eyeful of your soft skin and the slightest hint of red lace before you let go, the silky fabric falling back into place.
His helmet snaps back up and you can feel his burning gaze without seeing his eyes. “Of course not, Ma’am.”
A lie, but a polite one. “That’s good to hear. Have a good evening, Commander.”
“You as well, Ma’am.”
You can feel his eyes on you as you retreat into the ballroom. Bail greets you with a warm smile, offering you his arm like a true gentleman as you begin your rounds to all the senators in his coalition. Despite all the greetings and small talk, the only thing on your mind is how you poked the bear and how long it would take for him to strike.
Fox is surprisingly patient. You feel his gaze follow you for most of the night but he doesn’t make any move to draw you away, even when you sneak off to the restrooms for a breather. He just waits and watches as the ball begins to wind down. Some senators break away for discussions, others for drinks in their offices, some simply call it a night. Senator Organa eventually bids you a goodnight as well before breaking off for a meeting with Senator Amidala and a handful of others. You linger as he leaves, sipping on a barely touched glass of bubbly was you scan the room for Fox. You meet his gaze from across the room as he stands around the perimeter, monitoring the dwindling crowd of politicians. You decide you have waited long enough, tilting your head towards the south exit before slipping away. The south wing was the fastest way to get to his office so you’re sure Fox would understand. You pass Thire on your way out.
“Have a good night, Ma’am.” His smug tone leads you to believe he too has caught onto the game you are playing with Fox.
Nosey indeed.
You’re waiting for the lift when he appears out of nowhere. Just a blink goes by and he’s there, hovering at your side. He doesn’t speak a word as you enter the lift or as he keys in the security code needed to reach the floor he and the rest of the guard worked out of. It is not till you reach the privacy of his office that he turns to you. With one swift movement he pulls his bucket off, setting it blindly on the desk behind him.
“Strip.”
“Excuse me?” you gape at the sudden command.
“You heard me.”
Rolling your eyes you do as he ordered, stepping out of your heels before undoing the zipper of the dress. “Such a romantic,” you grumble.
“And you’re a little tease, cyare.” He eyes your scantily clad form as you stand before him, his gaze tracing the lines of red lace across your skin. “Prefect.”
Heat rises to your cheeks at the almost reverent tone in his voice. It would seem your little surprise had been a success. “All for you.”
He draws you closer, one arm wrapped around your waist, the other cupping the back of your head as he leans in, lips ghosting across yours. “It better be, pretty girl.”
“Only ever you.”
He hums in acknowledgment before closing the distance between you. His greedy tongue swiping along your bottom lip, probing for entrance, which you gladly give. You moan into his mouth as he grabs and kneads at the round of your ass covered in lace. It does not take long to feel the dampness of your arousal spreading across the red fabric. You had been waiting for him with rapt anticipation all night. His face is plastered with a smug look as you pull away to catch your breath. One finger runs over your clothed slit, “already this worked up, meshla?”
“You made me wait, Commander.”
Before you can blink he spins you around in his grasp, bending you forward so you’re leaning over the edge of his desk. You hear him discard his codpiece with hurried movements before he frees himself. His length hot and heavy against your ass, he pushes your panties aside before running himself along your cunt, coating himself in your arousal.
“Now be a good girl meshla, or else I’ll have to get you back for that stunt earlier.”

December 25th / 7th Week
The snow on the windowsill was fluffy and white and fresh, untouched by the dirt of the street or footprints fo the people who had to trudge their way to work on Christmas Day. YN spelt soundly under her pile of blankets in a sea of pillows, hand under her cheek and pink rays of the first light illuminating her form.
Steve Rogers looked in on her, a flutter in his heart and stomach making the tray of hot food tremble in his hands. He had learned how to cook during the snap— less people meant less crime and the crime that did seem threatening had been taken out by Clint. So, Steve cooked. He provided for Natasha, mostly, and slowly she gained her weight back and her hair grew healthy and her eyes seemed less set in her skull.
By the time everyone came back, Steve could cook a whole cookbook of good meals that made Natasha actually dance in her seat, and another cookbook of food that she would nod to.
Todays breakfast was nothing special. Two waffles with fruit and whipped cream (in the shape of a smiley face, obviously)— a homage to their first morning together. Coffee— the one half cup YN limited herself to and the one half cup he drank for support. He never used to like the taste of it, but for her he found himself doing more things for her and he found himself looking forward to the cup in the morning. Her vitamins and medication— a colourful cup of candy.
He set the tray on her still-empty bedside table, and sat on the bed, hand falling on her shoulder and shaking her gently.
“YN” He whispered and she moaned, cuddling harder into the blankets and wrinkling her nose as she did so.
“Waffles are gonna get cold, YN.” He whispered and she cracked one bleary eye open at him, smirking and closing her eyes again.
“The waffles did get cold. That’s how we got here in the first place, Rogers.” She mumbled and he chuckled, nudging her again and making her reach up, the blanket falling away from her chin and neck to reveal a Captain America vintage comic book t-shirt that seemed to be three sizes too big for her.
“Really?” He smiled and she winked, pulling herself to sit up and frowning, hand falling to her stomach. “You okay?”
“Morning sickness, obviously. Always sickness, honestly— your super-sperm means super-symptoms.” She replied and he fake gagged, making her giggle.
“I hate when you call it that.” He sighed and handed her her pills, watching as she swallowed them all with the bottle of water on the blanket beside her.
“It’s true. I really appreciate this whole thing, but I don’t think I can stomach more than that coffee, this morning, I’m sorry.” She frowned and he shrugged as if it were nothing. He reached over to the separate waffles and flipped one over onto the other, making a sandwich and nodding.
“Done.” He smiled when she laughed loudly.
“You’re the cutest.” She joked and scooted over, patting the place where she was sitting. Hesitantly, hoping to not cross any unspoken boundaries, he sat against the headboard beside her. “Good thing too, cause I haven’t seen the sunrise for the past two months for a reason.”
“Well, it is Christmas Day.” He sighed, lolling his head to look at her and she rolled her eyes.
“We promised each other we wouldn’t get each other anything.” She pointed out and he shook his head, digging into his sweatpants pocket and pulling out a long necklace box, handing it to her.
“You said that, I made no such promise.” He replied, She took it shakily, slowly opening it and gasping. She pulled the necklace from the box and held it up. It was a heart locket with a single diamond on it, and it glinted pink in the ever-brightening sun.
“Steve,” She breathed and he nodded.
“Open it.”
When she did, she had to squint to decipher that was on it, but when she did her eyes welled with tears. It was a small picture of their first ultrasound on one side, and the other side was empty.
“For our wedding picture.” He answered and she sniffed, wiping her nose hard.
“Fuck, Steve. This is— this is perfect. I didn’t get you anything, though I’m sorry—“
“You got me you. You got me him,” He said, pointing at her belly. “You got me a family, YN and that’s the greatest gift you could have ever given me.” He said simply, and she let out a wet sob, leaning her head on his shoulder and bringing the locket to her lips.
“You’re the biggest, dorkiest cheeseball in the world, Steve Rogers.”
“And you got me until you don’t want me anymore, YN.” He whispered and she wrapped her arms around his bicep, hugging him to her and curling around him.
“Same here, buddy.” She mumbled, and he gasped quietly in shock.
“Did you just buddy-zone me?”
“No.”
There was a pause in the conversation and YN breathed in deeply, sitting up and turning her back to him and lifting her hair, passing him the locket.
“It’s only fitting you put it on me, you know.” She whispered and he moved to kneel behind her, hands suddenly too-hot and shaking with nerves. He took the delicate necklace in his huge hands and clasped it, quickly. Before he could think twice about it, he ducked forward and planted his lips against the back of her neck. It was a brief kiss, nothing more than a ghost of one, actually, but he could hear her heart triple in pace and her breath catch in her throat.
“I told you, I’m not going anywhere.” He whispered and she shivered, letting her hair down and turning to him.
“You should eat, Steve.” She breathed, looking down at his lips and shaking her head, turning away and reaching to grab her laptop. “‘Cause after you’re done we’re only watching good Christmas movies until we both fall asleep or this kid makes me vomit.” She stated, voice stiffly excited.
“ELF?” He asked, reaching for the food and taking a bite of his waffle sandwich.
“Have you ever seen ELF?”
“No?”
“If anyone ever tells you that ELF is their favourite Christmas movie, run in the other direction. Run, very fast.”

December 31st 9:30 / 8th Week
YN really didn’t want to be at this party. There were too many people fawning over her and Steve and standing too close to them and offering her too many drinks she had to say ‘no’ to. Steve was ansty as well, pulling her to his side when reporters got too close and when he felt YN was in danger— which, since she and he had moved in together was all the time they were out of the house.
Her boobs were horrendously sore and she had thrown up three times today, cried twice as much. Pregnancy had been miserable so far, and honestly, YN had no idea how mothers did it alone. Alone, and not with a man who made her coffee the way she liked in the morning. Not with a man who made sure she was wearing two jackets and bought her new mugs and other knick knacks that were slowly filling up their apartment. How did women do it without someone who wouldn’t watch Jurassic Park with them because it was the only movie that settled her stomach.
She liked Steve. More than she probably should have by this point. I mean, granted, she was carrying his love child and he /did/ kiss the back of her neck when he gave her that locket on Christmas Morning.
She liked Steve the proper amount. Which was a lot.
They walked to the top floor of the tower which used to be Stark tower, having been rented out by Tony Stark every New Years Eve for the next fifty years even if he didn’t make it fifty years. This floor was quieter, the lights glimmering off of YN’s dress (bought by Natasha with Steve’s card as an ‘I’m sorry for judging you, here’s my number and I also have a wedding Pinterest board already’ gift. It was a good one— the measurements were perfect and the length was perfect, and somehow it made the dress even better when Steve’s jaw dropped when she walked out of her bedroom.
His hand seemed glued to the small of her back, coasting her expertly through nosey reporters and new recruits trying to get close to the man who used to be Captain America. Eventually they made it to the VIP section and somehow, YN didn’t mind the reporters all hat much.
Natasha Romanoff was there, wearing a long black dress that dragged across the floor as she walked from the bar and to the spot on the couch beside Bucky Barnes. His blood red suit jacket was slung lazily over the back of the couch, his black button up and matching blood red pants seemed strained over his muscles. Both Natasha and Bucky seemed regal and so very much in love.
Sam Wilson was wearing a classic blue suit and was talking animately to James Rhodes. Scott Lang was there with his family, and YN was sure it was his idea to wear matching sweaters with his daughter and the woman she assumed to be Hope Van Dyne.
Wanda Maximoff was wearing a white dress with a plunging neckline, her new blonde hair glinting healthily under the lights. Stephen Strange and Clint Barton were walking with her, wearing classic black.
Next, YN stumbled over her heels when she saw her, was Pepper Stark and Morgan Stark. Pepper, wearing gold, Morgan, wearing something similar but closely resembling something a Disney princess would wear.
“Steve.” YN gasped, grabbing his hand and holding tightly. Steve looked down at her, brows furrowing and looking briefly at her stomach before stopping.
“You okay? Do we need to find a bathroom? I know you’ve had a bad day, so—“
“No. Everyone is here. Pepper Stark is here. Natasha and Bucky and Sam and oh, god what if they still don’t like me.” She gasped, looking up at Steve with wide, scared eyes. He pulled them behind a pillar quickly, as to hide them from the party and he pushed her hair over her shoulder, trailing his hand down her arm and grabbing her other hand gently while he encouraged her to breathe.
“We can go home if you need,” He said, and she shook her head.
“No, I’m good. These are your people.” She tried to hype herself up and he shook his head with a small smile on his face.
“You’re my people.” He whispered just loud enough over the people and the music and making YN’s heart rate tumble the way Steve liked. “My world revolves around you, YN. We can leave if you’re not comfortable.”
“I adore you, Rogers. But no we’re here, and I’m wearing a dress with a price tag the made me vomit and I’m pretty sure Bucky saw us, anyways.” She shrugged and he nodded.
“Probably.”
So they asked out from behind the pillar, and YN immediately met Natasha’s eyes. She expected a lot of scenarios to play out in her head, but none of them included Natasha rising from her place under Bucky’s arm and walking to the roped-off entrance.
“YN. Steve. We weren’t sure if you were going to show up.” She smiled, unhooking the rope and waiting for them to enter before leading them to the couch set where everyone was at. Bucky didn’t stand at the sight of YN, but reached forward to shake Steve’s hand in that bro-way guys do and nodded politely at YN who offered a small, shy smile and hide slightly behind Steve’s arm.
“Hey!” Sam crowed from across the room, sauntering over to Steve and pulling him into a hug before turning to YN and doing the same, kissing her temple and smiling. “I just wanted to say we’re all really sorry for how we acted the other day. Again.”
YN smiled and nodded, putting her hand on Sam’s arm and squeezing.
“I get it, and it’s okay. Steve’s been all of your person and all of a sudden this stranger shows up claiming that she’s pregnant with his kid? It’s very Gossip Girl of me.” She joked, hoping to all the Gods that the joke would land.
And it did, not only to Sam who roared with laughter but also Bucky Barnes who chuckled loud enough over the music.
“Very Georgina Sparks of you, yeah.” Bucky said, smiling softly at YN who blushed and looked at her hand.
“Except I don’t /get enough/ to doubt that it’s this guy’s kid.” She nodded to Steve who looked wholly lost. Bucky smiled and shook his head, taking a sip of his drink and nodding towards the couch.
“Sit. I’d offer you a drink, but—“
“Appreciated.” She smiled.
Natasha watched the exchange fondly. Bucky had come a long way in letting people in, and this one was huge. It was something out of the blue, and Steve wasn’t someone who struggled with money anymore. She knew too, that Bucky (still smaller than Steve) still saw Steve as that skinny kid with a medical list of illness longer than a CVS receipt.
Natasha was happy Bucky invited her to sit considering the way Steve was staring at YN like she had turned his world around in the best way. YN’s shimmering red dress was the perfect choice— simple a-line with matching heels. Gold accessories. Her phone in the dress pocket and wallet in Steve’s back pocket.
One of Natasha Romanoff’s best qualities was her ability to micromanage.

“And, this is Pepper Stark and her daughter Morgan Stark.” Steve introduced, and YN offered a slightly shaking hand. Pepper Potts was known for being a boss and an inspiration to millions of women across the world, so the fact that YN was meeting one of her heroes had her beside herself.
“I’m YN. YN YLN.” She rushed, still shaking her hand. Realising she was shaking it too long, she dropped it and wrung her hands nervously. “I’m sorry for freaking out, but you’re a huge inspiration for me and my friends, Ms. Stark. The things you’ve done with Stark Industries and your own business and the way you speak out without fear but remain so elegant is really awesome.” She rambled, and Peppers smile grew the more she spoke.
“Well, I’m happy to finally meet you, actually. I’ve heard a lot about you from Steve recently and he speaks a lot to your kindness.” She smiled and YN felt faint at her words. “Also, you’ve done wonderfully at keeping him under control. He hasn’t made anyone cry this month which is less of a headache for me.” She joked and Steve coughed awkwardly. YN paid no mind to him and continued to look at Pepper with shining eyes.
“It’s truly an honour to meet you, Ms. Stark.” She continued, trying to cement this moment in her mind for the rest of forever. Maybe she could get the AI to record the conversation and she could tattoo it on her back.
“Pepper.” She replied and YN blinked stupidly.
“Huh?”
“Call me Pepper. You’re family as far as I know, so please call me Pepper.” And YN beamed, grabbing Steve’s hand behind her and squeezing hard enough for him to wince slightly.
“Pepper. I can do that.” She blinked eagerly. She hadn’t even noticed the bundle of golden tulle clutching Peppers leg until it moved behind her slightly. YN looked down into the wide brown eyes of Morgan Stark and without any hesitation, YN squat down to her level and held out her hand.
“Wow,” She started. “I’ve never met a princess, before.”
Morgan hid more behind Peppers leg, and YN remained— her hand held out politely and patiently.
“You know, you remind me so much of Belle. I bet you like reading books, huh?” She asked and Morgans stoic face melted a little, nodding with a breath of a smile.
“What’s your favourite book?” She asked, dropping her hand to her lap as she rolled onto her knees and sat back on her heels. Steve looked down at this beautiful woman below him in wonder. Of course she would be good with shy kids. Of course it made his heart swell three times its usual size.
“I like Narnia.” She mumbled and YN’s face broke out into the widest smile.
“No. Way. Narnia’s my favourite series! My favourite character is Lucy.” She whispered as if it was the worlds best kept secret. Morgan smiled and came out from behind Peppers hip.
“I like Aslan. He’s really smart. And he’s a lion and they’re my favourite animal.” She said, and YN dropped her mouth wide open in surprise.
“Did you know that I’ve held a baby lion before?” She asked Morgan and Morgan’s eyes widened beyond normal size. YN nodded and pulled out her phone flipping through her phone albums and showing Morgan a picture of her with a lion cub she had helped raise when she spent a summer volunteering in Africa as a part of her Anthropology practicum.
“Her name was Malaika, which means ‘Angel’ in Swahili.”
“Do you know what Nala means?” Morgans eyes were wide as she looked up from the picture and to YN. YN’s answer seemed far away from Steve— the words falling deaf on his ears, as he had just been hit hard with a realization.
This was the mother of his child. This was someone who he was going to be spending the rest of his life with and she was on her knees in a dress that cost more than the rent she used to pay just so she could make one fo the most famous children in the world feel comfortable enough to talk about their mutual favourite animal. This was the mother of his children, and God, if he didn’t want to have so many with her so long as they brought the same smile to her face that Morgan Stark was wearing right now.

December 31st, 11:56 / 8th Week
“Guys! Four minutes!” Someone cried, and YN’s heart dropped as everyone got up to leave—she had actually been enjoying seeing Steve in his natural environment. He was more animated, talked more with his hands, swore more. It was nice to see that Bucky did actually have a full smile and that Sam couldn’t dance to save his life. It was nice to hear Natasha’s full laugh— something that came out after three dry margaritas.
Steve stood quickly, standing in front of YN and holding his hand out. His smile was soft, but true and she grabbed his hands and stood, letting him lead her to the balcony where everyone else was heading. They found a spot by the rail, and Steve didn’t even hesitate before taking his suit jacket and throwing it over YN’s shoulders.
“You’ll get cold.” She protested and he smiled, Shang his head.
“I run warm. You complain about it in your sleep when we watch Jurassic Park for the third time in a day.” He teased and she rolled her eyes, leaning over the railing and looking over the city lights. “Have you ever seen fireworks from this high up before?”
She shook her head. “No, but I have seen it on the rooftop of Earls three years in a row, so that counts, right?” She joked and he bumped her shoulder.
“Second prettiest thing I’ve ever seen.” He commented and she blushed under his gaze.
“Cheeseball.”
He hummed and leaned into her, listening to everyone around them start counting down from thirty.
“You know, this time next year, we’re going to have a son.” He whispered into her ear and she smiled— a great beaming thing that took his breath away. He grabbed her chin between two fingers and she looked up to him easily, both still leaning against the railing.
“I’m gonna kiss you.” He whispered and her mouth opened to allow her tongue to moisten her suddenly dry lips. “Say no if you’re not okay with it.”
“I’m not gonna say it.” She replied, and he swallowed thickly.
Ten.
His eyes flickered down to her parted lips.
Nine.
She stood fully, and Steve did too.
Eight.
Her hands slid up from his stomach to his shoulders, her grip gentle, but firm.
Seven.
His hands landed on the curve of her waist under his jacket, thumbing patterns on the smooth fabric and pulling her closer.
Six.
Her hand cupped the back of his neck, scratching the nape of his neck and making his eyes flutter.
Five.
He stepped closer, and the toes of his boots nudged the toes of her heels.
Four.
His eyes were locked on her lips, angled to meet his.
Three.
“Steve,” a whisper as his hand cradled her cheek, anchoring her to him.
Two.
“YN.” He replied, ducking his head and brushing his nose against hers.
One.
His lips moulded to hers, moving slowly, working her own into a soft dough. She stepped closer and pulled his neck closer, kissing him deeper and making his heart stutter. She tilted her head barely, and moved her lips against his a little more passionately and he responded in kind, wrapping his arm tight around her waist and pressing her into him as if he wanted to do nothing else in the world. Her arms wrapped around his neck as her lips parted and his tongue darted out experimentally, slightly braver when he felt her shudder under him. Her tongue met his, tasting in earnest when a moan rumbled low in his chest just for her to hear. All YN could think of was SteveSteveSteveSteve, and she could taste his toothpaste and the champagne he had a few minutes ago, and the warmth of his tongue against hers.
It was only when YN had begun to get lightheaded that she slowed down, eventually pulling away and dropping from the very tips of her toes. Her hands were still clasped behind his back and his hands were still at their place on her waist, still pulling her close. His jacket had fallen to the ground during their kiss but YN felt fully and truly warm for the first time since Halloween.
“That was overdue.” She whispered and he laughed, kissing her through his smile one, twice, three times before rising to his full height.
“Yeah, yeah it was.” He murmured, pressing his forehead against hers again as the boom of fireworks echoed in their chest.

Wow! Your writing style is sooo good! I Just read your Last fic. It made me think of an idea which seems really difficult to write. So it's like s challenge, I guess. Skulduggery wants to be more than Just friends with China, but she doesn't (secretly scared he would hurt her feelings). So he tries to seduce her (in the end he succeds). Idk what thay is but it seems really challenging. Good luck💖
I like this idea, and I keep getting a lot of similar ChinaxSkul requests lately! So imma make a series out of this ad continue it on from the NSFW I wrote before! I think they meld well together and I can keep a nice little story going :) Enjoy Anon!~
Hesitation
Pairing: China x Skulduggery  Chapter: 2/? Word Count: 888 Themes: A lil bit of angst, Romance
China sat at the head of the table, stuck in the middle of another meeting she wasn’t really paying attention to. While the church officials were arguing about who gained what percentage of finances she dazed off looking past them as though they were ghosts arguing about times long forgotten. She had the events of last night playing out in her mind over and over again and it filled her with uncertainty. She did not like that.
Skulduggery had come to her with his own feelings of uncertainty regarding Valkyrie and she had simply told him to be a better influence if that was what was scaring him. One thing had led to another and they ended up sleeping together again, well- as close as you could get with a man like Skulduggery. This made her chuckle softly. “Miss Sorrows. I do not appreciate you finding this predicament amusing”. Some stupid unimportant church official interrupted her thoughts and China cleared her throat realising her mistake. She put her hand to her mouth thoughtfully, “Well it all depends on which of you needs resources more. And that will be considered by who provides more for Roarhaven as our people are important and will not support funding that does not affect them positively” They all seemed to agree with this and she stood up decidedly, “Have the expenditure reports from both churches ready for me tomorrow morning. I will look through them and discuss my decision with you at a later date. Does this please you, gentlemen?”. She quickly made to leave the meeting until one of them complained rudely, “Tomorrow morning is a bit much for our workload. We have other important things to do Grand Mage”. China scowled and kept her back to them, “Then it will just take longer for you to get your funding, won’t it?”. They all grumbled disapprovingly but said nothing more as China left the room. She had her own issues to resolve and needed some time to be alone for a little while. Every moment she remembered after she asked Skulduggery to stay longer that night had felt like a mistake. They had gotten too close through this little affair of theirs and waking up in the morning with him had felt like a dream. A beautiful dream that she never thought would happen. And it wouldn’t. He had said too much, he always said too much and now she felt backed into a corner. How could he say something as awful as that? That he wanted to stay longer than just one night, it was like a dream turned into a nightmare. It was one thing wishing and desiring something, but it was another to act on it altogether and she felt panic well up within her chest as she considered how it would even work. What would people think? She couldn’t give him special treatment- but she already did and this still caused people to talk. China groaned aloud in frustration and walked out of the sanctuary for a moment to clear her head and who did she happen to run into outside other than Skulduggery Pleasant? Her flustered appearance surprised him slightly but he did not say anything as she marched silently past him. “China
, he called out and she stopped walking but did not turn around. She remained there silently not knowing what to say to him. “I apologise if what I said last night was forward, but I did mean it... “. She shook her head then continued to march on as though she hadn’t heard him.
Skulduggery was clearly in a slump but nobody dared mention it to him other than Valkyrie, “You look like you’re in a slump”, she stated blankly while they sat in the cafe. He tilted his head at her in his usual way, “I don’t know what you mean. I am always in perfect tip-top condition”. Valkyrie took a big sip of her hot chocolate before returning to the conversation, “I can tell. You don’t seem so smug today so something must be wrong. Your hat does not match your suit”. Skulduggery took off his hat in a panic and when he realised that they did match he realised he had been had. Replacing his hat on his head Skulduggery shrugged, “You got me there. I am fine I have just been having some trouble with-”, he paused deciding not to continue. Valkyrie sighed and slumped in her chair, “Look you don’t have to tell me everything. I am nosey, but I have boundaries now. Just, you can always talk to me, ok? Maybe try talking to China about it, you two always manage to think well together”. Instantly the mood dropped a little more and Valkyrie realised she had touched on the subject accidentally, “Oh
is she mad at you for something? Skulduggery she is always mad for some reason. But I am her favourite so I will put in a good word for you”. Skulduggery held out his hand as though stopping her from walking to the sanctuary right now to do so, “No. I will deal with it in my own time, we are working right now. So let’s just get on with it”. Valkyrie nodded and they both stood up, following a shadowy figure out of the cafe.

heya! could i please have scenarios of oikawa, akashi, iwaizumi and kise as older brothers please! thank you!
My ask box is literally ridden with nothing but nsfw asks, but this saintly, heaven sent ask popped up and is gonna wipe my smut record clean, if only for a hot minute.———————————————————————————————————–
Oikawa:“What’s his name?!” Your head rolled to the side and your bored eyes landed on your older brother. His voice dripped with offense and his face matched it in disgust. You were simply looking at your phone, checking your snapchat, when your crush had sent you a cute snap of their selfie, with a caption “How’s your day going, _______?”You sighed. “What are you talking about, Tooru-chi”.“You’re smiling at your phone! And-and-and not just any smile!” He had risen out of his seat at the kitchen table by now, stomping over in his alien-clad pants, cereal bowl in hand. “I’ve been running a volleyball team filled with teens for a while now and I know a dopey, love-strucked smile when I see one!”
“Oh, like when you see Iwa-chan?” You snickered.
“Oh haha, you’re so funny! But seriously, who’s texting you? Or snap-per-chatting you?! Is it that classmate of yours you like? From english?”
“For your information, you nosey bozo, it is! And they asked me if I wanted to get ice-cream later!”
Your brother’s pout on his lip quickly flipped as his eyes began to sparkle with excitement.
“A date?! Let me help you pick out what to wear!” He scrambled to get up, drinking the last of the milk straight from the bowl and running to your room. “Hurry up and tell them yes so we can start getting you ready! Your dating lessons from the one and only Oikawa Tooru starts now!”
“I want this date to go well, Tooru! Not end my dating life before it even begins!”
“HEY!”
Akashi:A mansion. A mansion is what you owned, and even with the unfathomable square footage, you still couldn’t get some damn alone time.
“I know you’re there, Sei. Stop spying on me.” You muttered, legs dangling off the tiles and dipping into the outdoor fountain. The navy blue, star-lite sky was the background to the neon blue arising from the flowing water. It danced on the walls, the fountain, and on your face, hiding the fact that tears were running down.
“I’m only spying because I know you are not well.” He stated simply, coming to sit beside you after rolling up his pajama bottoms. “You’ve been extremely stressed out lately, even with how flourishing your department is. I thought you might want an outlet to talk to, me being your business partner.”
You stared at the dancing water. Squinting your eyes.
“I’m your sibling, Sei. Sibling before business partner.” You could feel your older brother’s eyes on you after your statement. “Ever since I’ve been old enough and qualified enough to run my own department, i-it’s like the family dynamic is completely gone. We never have dinner at the same table anymore, we’re all in different countries for holidays, and birthdays come second to milestones in the company. I know my department is flourishing, but it’s beginning to seem so gray. I miss the colour our family was.”
You didn’t realize you were crying until the tear had joined the water below. Your older brother sighed, before re-crossing his legs in the water. The sound breaking the silence.
“I couldn’t agree more with you, and now with you and I both in the business, we have more power together. Let’s make breakfast tomorrow, and discuss what we’d like to change. Not in a meeting room, but our dining room.”
You looked up at him, smiling for the first time in a while. “And watch cartoons on the carpet?”
“While eating our famous chocolate chip Akashi pancakes, yes.”
Iwaizumi:Family vacation was a highlight to any summer. The cottage was like a second home, with no problems or worries following you, only sounds of the wilderness and the lake awaiting you to jump in. But this year, your parents had decided to bring along friends, and leave you and your brother, Iwaizumi alone at home. You both begged to go, insisting you’d even set up a tent, but were denied at the reason of ‘adults only trip’ with a ‘break from the kids’. You were barely kids anymore!
Throwing your book onto your bed, you glanced around. Your room was so boring! White walls, gray carpet, only a brown desk; Where was the colour!?
“Oi
Haji?” You called, walking into the door frame of his room.
“What’s up?” He responded, pulling his headset off his ear closest to you, eyes still focused on the battle royale game he was playing (Yes, he was playing fortnite).
“Would you be up for painting my room with me? We can put all my furniture in mom and dad’s room while they’re gone. It’s like the perfect time! My room is so boring and blah, it’s just plain colour!”
After some aggressive clicking on his controller, and deciphering, he looked at you, shrugging.
“I don’t see why not. Move everything you can without me and I’ll be in in 5 minutes to help. This game’s almost over.”
Within minutes, your older brother was helping you move your desk, bed, dresser and anything else into your parents’ room down the hall.
After driving to the store and picking out the perfect shade of your favourite colour and painting supplies, you began painting the middle of the wall as Iwaizumi lined the top and bottom, and around the windows carefully.
“How impulse was this decision, ______?” Iwaizumi laughed.
“If you didn’t do it with me, I probably was going to ask Oikawa.” You joked back, looking back at your brother in amusement. “Thanks for helping me, though. I appreciate it a lot, Haji.”
“No problem! I’ve got your back any time, little bro/sis.”
After finishing up painting, your older brother held the bag up to you, leading you to reach in and grab the last object that was in it
 Christmas lights?
“I snagged them at the store when you were debating what colour. They were on sale, and I figured they’d suit your fancy. Give your room a little extra
 extra-ness that you like.”
Your jaw dropped at the surprise before you hugged him, making the stay-cay renovation week even better!
Kise:You rolled your eyes walking into the bathroom. The house sure was a lot more lively when Kise was home from modelling. He’s been gone lately, getting job after job, basketball game after game, and travelling lots for appearances, and now he was home for a month, and the house seemed to balance again.
“Turn down your music.” You shoved his arm before reaching for your toast that had just popped.
“Heey~ I just got home! You should be nicer to me, you know. I missed you!” He giggled before scraping butter onto his own slice of toast.
“Oh you know what. Since you’re home now,” You offered before opening a cupboard. “Can you make that dip you always make for our chips? I’ve been really missing it.” You laughed at his over-the-top hurt expression.
“Missed the dip more than your lovely older brother? I’m hurt.” He stated before scrolling through his phone. “Yes, I’ll make it. But you gotta help, and you gotta dance.”
You shrugged, grabbing a large mixing bowl before bobbing your head to the beat. “Don’t you forget the singing!” You added before biting into your toast.
This is what you had missed, you thought to yourself. The random dance parties at late night hours with your older brother while you made the most delicious chip-dip you’ve ever tasted. Ingredients flew all over the place just like the notes coming out of both your mouths did. Spatulas were microphones, stirring sticks were guitars and oven mitts were drums as you and your older brother enjoyed his new playlist he had compiled over visiting all the foreign countries.
“Can we watch Mama Mia?” Kise said, sprawling on the couch.
“Shouldn’t you have more energy as a basketball player? How will you ever be a broadway star if you’re tuckered out after 13 songs?!” You poked fun, dipping your chip and watching it snap in the dip!
“
I’m not even gonna sass you back because the chip did it for me.”
“Don’t laugh at my demise, Kise-chi!!!”

The Very Hopeful, and I [BTS Soulmate!AU]
Tumblr media
WATTPAD // FIC MASTERLIST // REACTIONS
PROLOGUE: MINDFUL here
PROLOGUE: YOUTHFUL
As children, we’re encouraged to keep the names on our wrists hidden from one another. This policy holds many intentions, most of which ensure education remains focused upon. It prevents major conflicts during school years of destined enemies. It allows us to be teenagers and practice at relationships so we can make the mistakes, even though we individually know the truth about who our futures lie with. So like, the girl I made out with behind the bleachers in my senior year isn’t going to be the mother of my children, but at least I learned a thing or two, I suppose. Quite importantly, this rule also stops irregular or taboo cases, or anything societally seen as ‘abnormal’ being highlighted. It stops confrontation and commotion, and I guess I appreciate that, really.
For example, wouldn’t it be disappointing if the name of your soulmate or ally was that of a celebrity’s, only to find years later that you stumble across someone else with just the same name? All those years of bragging and bathing in attention from your classmates, only to be dragged down upon the 1st reunion when you introduce your partner that looks nothing like that famous person, they just merely share the same name.
Or how about being outed instantly because the 1st name on your wrist is of the same gender as you? Kids, even teenagers, don’t always fully understand the concept of loving someone with the same
anatomy as themselves, and that’s because they haven’t learned or experienced everything life has to offer yet, and they don’t know how everything works.
I can’t say I really know of any other ‘irregular’ cases, I simply follow suit of others and focus on myself. Myself, who has a most definitely female name at the top of that short list of names engraved into my skin

I don’t yet wish to reveal my names beyond family to be perfectly honest. Maybe I’ve just stuck to a routine that has been embedded into me for the first 18 years of my life, but it’s not for that reason alone. I want to do more in the world whilst I’m in a physical peak before I start aging and settling down with this girl whose name sits on my skin. I’m content with the people I have met so far.
I met my biggest enemy last year, when at my old job, they went out of their way to screw me over and stand in the way of me getting a promotion. Fortunately, I overcame this person and I managed to get the promotion of a lifetime, and they remain a part of my past that built me as a person
I guess that person was chosen as my enemy because had I not worked my way up the ladder, I probably would have been made redundant, put out of work, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah

My greatest ally, just a year older than myself, I met during my school years. I have nothing but fond memories of this person. It’s a great shame that we got separated after middle school; I would have liked to experience those high school years with him, getting up to all sorts of mischief in the first few years, then maturing and growing up together
but I’m sure I will find him some day again. Afterall, he’s supposed to be my greatest ally.
In kindergarten, we both got kept behind after class because we wrote stories that followed a similar plot and since we were sat next to one another, we basically got lectured about copying other people’s work
Of course, I never looked over my shoulder that entire session, too engrossed in visualizing and bringing to life the figments of my little imagination. Incidentally, on that day, it turns out that person created a story about bird-humans that flew up to mars and found a dozen living breads, which I guess followed the same plot as my storyboard of how robot-human hybrids travelled to the moon by a magic carpet and discovered alien bunny life
In hindsight, his made more sense, you know, birds and bread.
I’ll skip to the part where I made a promise with this ally. We were probably about 13/14 years old, he in the last year of middle school, not that far away from reaching that grand unknown stage that was 18. We had taken two girls to the arcade in the spring as a sort of double-date type arrangement, and we really had fun that day. I let the girl win of course at most of the multiplayer games, it was only the polite thing to do. Though I went out of my way to beat my ally friend; we were quite competitive in that way, but never anything serious.
So we kindly walked the girls back home, (to the same place, they were close, see,) and it seemed that talking about them led to this said promise.
“Tonight was real fun, don’t ya think?” he asked me, sweeping his ebony bangs away from his eyes as rich as black coffee. For some reason, I remember he was sporting a red snapback with the words ‘bad hair day’ printed across it in blue writing. I didn’t quite understand the hat, I’ll be honest.
“Yeah, I think the girls had a good time” I agreed.
My friend, I thought, was quite the looker, truth be told. I was often flattered by other students my age for my looks, but I personally never felt I quite matched up to my older friend. I possibly just thought him to be much cooler than myself, purely because of the 1 year age difference, though. We were some of the lucky ones I think; we got by mostly at ease through those school years; girls wanted to date us, so we got the first of many chances we needed to make the mistakes with.
“So, I’m sorry if I sound like I’m being nosey, and you don’t have to answer, but
Well, man, we trust each other right?” he asked yet again. He was full of questions that night, but I didn’t mind.
“Right.”
“I know we’re supposed to hide our names, so you don’t need to tell me any more than a yes or no to my question
”
I knew exactly what he was going to ask of me, so I answered “No, the name on my wrist isn’t of hers.”
“Ah, shame, really. You guys seemed to get on well
maybe she’ll be your school soulmate though”
A school soulmate was more of a bogus made up concept that lead to the real soulmate thing [but admittedly, it really caught on, especially in high school years with traditions and other such occasions as prom]. Some people were fortunate enough to find someone to stay with throughout their school years and learn how to get to know and look after a person in the same way one would their true soulmate

I say fortunate, but I can only imagine how devastating it would be, to develop feelings for someone to such a great extent, always knowing they aren’t the person you’re destined to die with. Teenagers can be very fickle too, you know; I should know. I’ve been there, done that, thought I fell in love about 6 times, cried enough to fill a river. I even heard of people who were that convinced they had found their soulmate, they’d be crying themselves to sleep at night because the name doesn’t match what’s on their wrist. There would be the hope that they’d be an irregular case [polygamy, in which the placement of names are said to follow a relay-like triangular form,] and so they’d mutually agree to reveal the names, only to find that neither one is there, and that there is no third party.
“What about yours?” I interrupted as he continued chatting about me and
 I can’t say I remember her name.
“Nah
I wasn’t really feeling it to be honest anyways. I just thought it’d be nice to try the double dating thing at least once, eh?”
“Yeah
”
“I think I only asked her out because I knew your girl and she were friends, and the arcade tonight did sound fun
See, I think the name on my wrist holds a different kind of personality. I don’t think I’m destined to be with a girl who wants to be a reporter
I think mine will be more of a behind the scenes kind of girl
I’m going to meet her after we graduate, and she’ll play hard to get because she has a bit of fire to her personality, and
”
“Dude, we’re barely in our mid-teens yet” Yes, I would interrupt often, but note that my ally would try to initiate these conversations often, also.
“I know, I know, but if our partners are already destined, then why not just become fond of the idea of meeting them already?” He was extremely optimistic in my eyes, something I envied actually. He seemed to be a much happier person than I.
“I suppose I’m not like you in that aspect” I explained. “I like to live in the moment. I’m gonna do some stuff first. I’m not sure what yet, but I want to have an impact on people in the world before hiding away into that eternal romance stuff
”
“You make this whole soulmate thing sound like a drag
”
“But whatever happens, and when I do meet her, I want you to be there. You can even be best man.”
“Like there’s any other option!” he jested, then paused. He stopped in his tracks as we reached the side of the river that ran through the park en route to our houses. “You know what? I think  we should make a promise
”
“Hmm, that depends
” I replied uncertainly, glaring into the glistening water that just about managed to reflect our faces from the dull evening sky.
“Don’t worry, it’s nothing bad or something that benefits me more than you
”
“Fine, what is it?”
“We confirmed we’re each other’s allies, right? When we both graduate
We show each other the names.”
“Alright
” I agreed, humming with pleasant surprise, having thought the promise was just going to be another one of those ‘I’ll stop talking so much if you quit being so pessimistic’ type of pacts. I even began initiating the little pact. “I promise that I will reveal the names printed on my wrist once we have both graduated.”
“Alrighty then. And I, shall do the same.”
“You realise you’ll have to wait a year for me, right?”
“Yeah, I don’t mind.”

What Is My Zodiac Sign Love Match?
New Post has been published on https://www.astrology-india.com/zodiac-sign-love-match/
What Is My Zodiac Sign Love Match?
When a human being enters this world, the date and time of birth can give an indication as to their traits and characteristics, as well as their compatibility and love match with others born on a different date.
Of course, the zodiac sign, a person is born under is only an indication of their temperament and character.
A more specific assessment can be made with the exact time of birth in relation to the specific positioning of the planets.
Phrases that you have probably heard relating to Venus in Virgo or Sun in Scorpio, are a reference to the position of a certain planet, or moon, at the time of a person’s birth. Astrologers can give a more accurate reading if they know the time of birth.
Each birth date is represented by a zodiac sign ranging from Aries to Pisces which covers the whole year. However, the natal, or birth signs, as they are also known, fall under the four main elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.
Each zodiac sign is represented with an image ie, Taurus the Bull, Gemini the Twins, and Pisces with two fishes. These images are meant to indicate the power of the Bull, the togetherness of the Twins, and the indecisiveness of the fish swimming in different directions.
Without a doubt, a person born under a certain zodiac sign will have a natural connection with a different sign. Alternatively, there can sometimes be a clash of personalities, in zodiac signs, which seem to be naturally opposed to one another.
However, understanding the traits of a person’s zodiac sign will help you know how they react in everyday situations, but more importantly in affairs of the heart. Even if a couple’s star signs are theoretically opposed a successful relationship can still be achieved.
The Astrology Elements
As I stated earlier in this article, a person’s zodiac sign is just an indication and will vary with the time of birth and the position of their ruling planet.
Below is a description of the elements as a general guide.
Fire signs: Sagittarius – Aries – Leo
As the word fire suggests, a person born under one of these zodiac signs tends to be temperamental but also driven and passionate about anything they get involved with. Their emotions can be explosive so a partner will need to learn to tread carefully.
Earth signs: Capricorn – Virgo – Taurus
Usually, very solid, grounded, and reliable. They can possibly be self-centered and focused on ambitious targets that tend to override everything else. Loyalty plays a big part in their makeup and this is something they would generally expect from a partner.
Air signs: Aquarius – Libra – Gemini
A general trait of these zodiac signs is of being enthusiastic about new experiences and adventures. While some could be accused of being way out and a little air brained, the majority would be a breath of fresh air, to heighten the mood of a dour companion.
Water signs: Pisces – Cancer – Scorpio
These zodiac signs can be classified as dreamers, and also, have an uncanny knack of assessing a situation and predicting its’ outcome well in advance. These natal signs can be mysterious and deep, with a focus on stability and security.
The Best Zodiac Sign Love Match
When it comes to finding a partner, the excitement of the initial attraction can override a person’s better judgment.
So, this is where an understanding of a potential lifetime companion zodiac characteristics is important to know.
Every sign of the zodiac has its own traits and characteristics that a person with another sign may find irresistible at first.
But when and if the initial magic wears off, true love is the only thing that will hold you together.
Generally, the fire signs all go well together; the air signs love to flirt around; the earth signs are practical and sensual, and the water signs are highly sensitive and creative. But we can go further with each sign to discover their love matches.
Let’s look at the zodiac sign love match for each sign to get a better understanding of how they fair in love and creating a long-term future.
This article is a guide to love astrology, known as Synastry, and will help you understand more about your perfect partner. However, we are all individuals, and a personal reading with a professional astrologer will help to guide you to true and lasting love.
Aries – The Ram (March 21 and April 20)
The fiery Aries love nothing more than to be first. Their pioneering energy matches with individualists like Leo and Sagittarius. This is the first sign of the zodiac and is represented by the Ram. One of the most competitive signs, but also very loyal and steadfast.
An Aries tends to be open and direct which can sometimes come as a bit of a shock to someone who is not expecting such frankness. This star sign values honesty above anything else and their fiery nature can be a turn off for some in a relationship.
Aries tend to be intuitive when it comes to romance and can sense an attraction and just go for it. In their minds, it is straight to the chase with someone who takes their eye, so there is generally no need to be coy. Aries are versatile and passionate lovers and usually make loyal partners.
Best zodiac sign love match for Aries

Represented by the sign of the Bull which has a reputation for being stubborn. Seen as a reliable person who gels well with colleagues and makes friends easily. Taureans value honesty and is always open to debate and discuss a topic they find interesting.

Taurus has the ruling planet of Venus which shows in their love for the arts as well as being drawn to be musically minded. Their Stubborn nature can sometimes be confused with being over cautious and lazy. Any project is seen through to the end and great satisfaction is derived from success.
Best zodiac sign love match for Taurus
A relationship with a Capricorn can be very financially promising for you both. The analytical Virgo is too nit-picky for your easygoing nature. However, relationships with Pisces will be incredibly rewarding if you can learn to work with their confusing tendencies.

Gemini – The Twins (May 21 – June 21)
The overriding characteristic of a Gemini is that they are very independent. They tend to relish their freedom and will not take kindly to anyone trying to dictate to them. They tend to love discovering new and exciting things and as such make lasting friendships easily.
A Gemini can have a nervous temperament which makes them react to situations that otherwise would be ignored by other zodiac signs. The Gemini can easily suffer feelings of moodiness although they will do everything to avoid showing it.
Usually brimming with vitality and energy they are not a person to sit back. They want to be involved with anything and everything, which can give the impression of them being nosey. A Gemini will keep you talking for hours if they find you and the subject interesting.
Best zodiac sign love match for Gemini
You need a partner who will not get jealous when you hang out with your friends or network at a party. Aries and Leo will let you be free, yet are chatty enough to keep you amused.
With a Sagittarius, you will often feel you are always learning new and interesting things.
Libra may be too clingy for you if they are codependent; otherwise, they communicate very well. Aquarius is a lovely partner for you, Gemini, but be prepared for trouble in expressing emotions.
To know more about Aquarius for your love match, read our Aquarius articles here.
Cancer – The Crab (June 22 to July 22)
Cancer is a Water sign and is depicted by the Crab. As with other water signs, the Cancerian has a tendency to ebb and flow. They have the ability to take a project and see it through to completion. But on the reverse side, they rely on emotional support and need encouragement.
When they make a friend, it is a friend for life. They are loyal to others that support them and appreciate them for who they are. A natural characteristic is a shyness but when this demon is overcome their ability to build a friendship knows no bounds.
Being a water sign indicates a trait that is temperamental and sometimes unpredictable. They can be easily offended and will bear a grudge. It is sometimes difficult for a Cancerian to express what they feel for another person due to a fear of being hurt emotionally.
Best zodiac sign love match for Cancer
For Cancer, you need an empathetic and sensitive partner. Taureans can provide material comfort and safety; Virgos are likely to take care of everything for their spouse. However, blunt signs like Aries, Sagittarius, and Capricorn can be too harsh for this delicate sign.
Although fire and water don’t mix well, the combination of Aries and Cancer is extraordinary once Aries learns to mind Cancer’s sensitivity.

Leo – The Lion (July 23 and August 23)
Leo is represented by the sign of the Lion which suits them very well as they want to rule themselves and cherish and protect those closest to them. Nothing seems to deter a Leo from bouncing back from any unfortunate event that occurs to them.
They can be very sensitive, but their high opinion of themselves would never allow them to show it. Any conflict that Leo is faced with will not make them change their opinion. A Leo can be seen as a spoilt child but this is only when perceived boundaries are crossed.
A Leo is generally one who is big-hearted with a desire to do the right thing in life. They tend to want to feel that they have achieved something useful by being on this earth. A person born under Leo will probably have a big ego but is sensible enough to keep it under wraps among friends.
Best zodiac sign love match for Leo
The king or queen of the jungle needs someone equally royal for love. Not many signs can keep up with you. But the sign of drama and creativity has a cosmic counterpart in Aquarius, which represents the uniqueness of humanity.
Together in love, you rule as two individuals who know their place in society. Scorpio and Taurus are also strong love partners due to their fixed, loyal nature.

Virgo – The Virgin (August 23 – September 22)
Seen as one of the most careful natal signs Virgo seems always interested in the small detail of anything they face. They tend to never take chances with work or relationships until they have satisfied themselves that they fully understand the outcome.
With Mercury as the ruling planet, it is inevitable that a Virgo is always seeking ways to help mankind find a more deserving way in life. A Virgo needs the love and support of a partner to help guide them away from being absorbed in the needs of others.
Trust is something that needs to be built slowly with a Virgo but when it is this zodiac sign is the most loyal to those they love. Virgo is one of the most responsible because they completely understand the importance of tradition and family values.
Best zodiac sign love match for Virgo
You Virgos can find yourselves in intimate flings with Aries natives, but long term relationships become rather annoying for you, don’t they? As an earth sign, you need a reliable and practical love interest.
You also fall head over heels for the completely helpless person, much like the dreamy Pisces. On the other hand, a Capricorn loves to achieve and build with your intelligence and skill.

Libra – The Scales (September 23 and October 23)
The zodiac sign for Libra is a set of scales that transfers to people born under this sign as always trying to balance their lives. Fascinated by symmetry they always seem to be at the forefront of equality and justice. This star sign will want to strive to keep the peace at any cost.
A person born into the influence of Libra are usually relaxed and peaceful, and always quick to see the fairness in others. A relationship with a special person is always extremely important to them, and they usually prove to be loyal and loving partners.
Libra is an Air sign giving these individuals an intelligent way of thinking, and usually a razor-sharp intuitive mind. There is insecurity surrounding a Libra as they fight with themselves to answer questions about how they react and exist with other people.
Best zodiac love sign match for Libra
As a sign of intimate relationships, you will have to be more selective. You need someone you can be attached to and feel like you two are cooperating.
With a Gemini, you can feel comfortable chatting and enjoying a variety of activities together.
Aquarius and Leo are two partners who will make great use of Libra’s dedication in love. Finally achieving balance with Aries makes for a powerful couple, if you are an independent Libra.
To know more about Aquarius for your love match, read our Leo articles here.
Scorpio – The Scorpion (October 23 to November 21)
Scorpios are generally very independent and suited to being on their own if fate leads them down that path. They tend to have a can-do attitude and are resolute if they decide to do something. They like to be in control of everything they do which can cause problems with a partner of some signs.
Any relationship with a Scorpio can lead to upsets due to their jealousy and possessiveness, but they tend to be loyal to a partner who knows how to handle this dark side. They are known to hold a grudge and find it hard to forgive and forget.
A person born under the sign of Scorpio has the potential of leadership. Their ability to take charge of any situation helps with their ambitious attitude to get to the peak of their abilities. However, they can also be flexible and listen to reason if it helps them attain their goals.
Best zodiac sign love match for Scorpio
You need someone you can trust with your darkest secrets in love. Since Scorpio and Aries are both linked with Mars, it may seem these two signs will go well together. And although the sex can be wild at times, other aspects of the relationship falter.
Choose the other water signs, who can respect your privacy while providing the emotional support you need. Equally so, Taurus can provide you with material goods and physical pleasure.
To know more about Aquarius for your love match, read our Cancer articles here.
Sagittarius The Archer (November 22 – December 21)
A person born under this natal sign is known for their restlessness and desire to travel and taste new experiences.
Sagittarius points to being extrovert which gives them their optimistic outlook on life. The ruling planet is Jupiter, the largest of the known universe and this sums up their character.
The main strength of Sagittarius is a generous and idealistic attitude, coupled with a great sense of humor which immediately attracts people who come into contact with them. They tend to steer clear of needy people and those that are too stayed in life.
Like other Fire signs of the zodiac, Sagittarius has unbounded enthusiasm and a focused curiosity to discover anything new and interesting. If contemplating a relationship their initial excitement might overcome their better judgment, so it may appear to blow hot and cold.
Best zodiac sign love match for Sagittarius
You guys love having fun all the time. For you, your partner needs to understand that your interests flip flop quite fast, while also being varied enough themselves to keep your attention!
Naturally, you make great philosophical conversation with Geminis and seek your desires with Aries and Leo. But the water signs cannot stand how you ignore your (and their) emotions.
Aquarius is one of your better matches but avoid Libra at all costs!
To know more about Aquarius for your love match, read our Aquarius articles here.
Capricorn The Goat (December 22nd and January 20th)
The person born under the zodiac sign of Capricorn tends to take their responsibilities very seriously, and veer towards being traditional in their thinking and outlook on life. They seem to have an inner strength with bundles of self-control that allows them to achieve what they want.
Being an Earth sign they are grounded which, in turn, gives them a stubborn streak which makes them stiff and less flexible in a relationship. Capricorns are usually slow to accept differences in other people, and in a relationship may try to impose their opinion, which can lead to heated disagreements.
The ruling planet is Saturn which represents different kinds of restrictions. The influence of Saturn can make people born in Capricorn to be cold and sometimes unforgiving. By learning to forgive more would help to make their life more positive.
Best zodiac sign love match for Capricorn
You all know how sensitive and anxious you are under your rough exterior. Taurus loves the tension and intelligence you hide while also sharing your determination and earthy patience.
Meanwhile, Virgo shares your nervousness and feels connected to your hard-working, always-right nature. Aries or Cancer can really get on your nerves in the beginning, but the innate action-oriented essence of the cardinal signs (including Libra) will catch your ambitious Capricorn heart off-guard.
Even more surprising, you could find an interesting love story through Pisces who will constantly push you to reevaluate your rigid beliefs on life.
To know more about Aquarius for your love match, read our Taurus articles here.
Aquarius The Water Bearer (January 20 – February 18)
Aquarius has the ruling planet of Uranus which indicates a timid but when roused abrupt and sometimes even aggressive nature. An Air sign they thrive and feel good when in the company of progressive people who think like them.
A champion of causes that will benefit mankind, and an uncanny knack of being visionary to know what they will be doing at some time in the future. They sometimes feel the need to shut themselves away from the hubbub of life to enable them to restore their energy.
Usually easy going and carefree, they try to avoid people who don’t see their point of view and also steer clear of boring situations. Normally reserved and also verging on shyness, when in their comfort zone can be energetic and even eccentric.
Best zodiac sign love match for Aquarius
This unique and detached quality is difficult to match with many signs. The water and earth signs suffer from a lack of intimacy and would reject emotional coldness.
The air signs and Leo and Sagittarius offer you the independence you live for. Aries can make a great friend, but you lack any emotional rapport together.
Instead, find yourself a feisty and passionate Leo for the most explosive relationship!
To know more about Aquarius for your love match, read our Sagittarius articles here.
Pisces – The Fish (February 19 – March 20)
The ruling planet of Pisces is Neptune which indicates an artistic nature and also an intuitive understanding, making them caring and faithful. Generally, very friendly they are always ready to help others with no regard for reward, other than an appreciation for what they have done.
With the conjunction of the planets Neptune and Uranus a Pisces can sometimes appear a martyr to boost their own ego. However, they are capable of ‘turning the other cheek’ and not holding a grudge, provided any upset is brought into the open.
The Pisces natal sign indicates a compassionate and gentle nature, and they tend to be wise and generous with an intelligent outlook on life’s ups and downs. Likes their own company but with their flexible nature makes them one of the most sort after signs for a relationship.
Best zodiac sign love match for Pisces
The final zodiac sign is the most mysterious to pair up. Cancer will be patient enough to deal with you, but no other sign will take the time to know you like the loyal and determined Scorpio. Not only will they satisfy you sexually, but they will also use their desire to discover things to learn everything about you.
Earth signs love to provide and care for the aloof Pisces, especially if you appear unkempt or financially unstable. Taurus really appreciates your imagination and creativity, given that its ruling planet Venus is exalted in your sign.
