I don’t know how to explain any more clearly that it doesn’t MATTER if it seems legitimate to you. You have got to fact check every single headline and post and claim on the left just like you need to do on the right.

The left is NOT immune to misinformation and rushed reporting. And the more emotionally polarizing or shocking the talking points, sound bytes, and headlines are, the worse it is and more frequently it happens.

Learn to verify through multiple independent sources. If you can’t do that, you can’t trust it.

If you have to wait extra hours for the real information to come through vetted channels—NOT just one individual somewhere everyone links to, and not just one single media source either, EVEN if it’s a major news network—thats just how it has to be. What news outside of genuine local disasters near you TRULY needs your outrage and post-sharing in the next hour specifically?

Misinformation works best by not seeming like misinformation and by fitting in with the rest of what you already expect to see. It doesn’t help anyone to not be able to recognize and avoid the stuff.

After some thinking, I don't think Ansur should be Wyll's new warlock patron. Literally the entire game Wyll just wanted to get rid of his contract. When the nymph in Shar's Caress asks what the character wishes most, Wyll's answer is to be free. As much as Ansur seems cool now, putting Wyll in a different contract to get a power boost to save Baldur's Gate just feels like we're back at step one and our boy deserves better than that. We also don't know what Ansur would be like as a patron and what his demands would be. Just seems like a bad outcome all around.

What I think Wyll should be is Ansur's chosen where he gets all the perks without any literal soul binding. Wyll should get to run while and fuck shit up with no restrictions while Ansur takes picture from his afterlife domain. In other words, I want to be like the relationship between Mona Lisa and her dad from parks and recs.

I say this as someone who absolutely adores Astarion, but some of you are so weird about his racism? I've seen someone argue that actually Cazador conditioned him to be racist against! I came across a fic where someone made up backstory to validate his hate toward gnomes! and I'm just like??? Y'all realize that's weird right??!

Thinking thoughts about those from Cuivienen and how they later treated the Valar, especially after Cuivienen was destroyed.

I imagine a foundation of sorrow and a layer of betrayal and pettiness. They had promised safety. And how did it turn out? Kin of Tata and Tatie their first leaders, slain in Valinor by the Dark Hunter from which the Valar promised protection in Valinor.

And then, the War of Wrath comes and with it the destruction of Cuivienen.

If any of those were re-embodied in Aman, I wonder if they make it a point to always turn their back to Valar and Maiar. I wonder if they only speak in the tongue they had first devised all those millennia ago and spoke in Cuivienen before time and different kindreds changed the tongue, not Sindarin or Quenya from the Great Journey's time or later. I wonder if they sing songs in their ancient tongue, songs about the beauty and unsullied health of Cuivienen every time any of the Ainur are near.

I wonder if the Valar feel any shame when those who they once looked upon in wonder and love gaze back at them with indifference or disgust.
