Heacannon that one day, somehow (don’t ask me how okay its late im running on no brain cells) a speaker in the apartment starts BLARING music

And nobody knows where it came from or how it started but what they DO know is that the speaker is blasting “While You Were Sleeping” by Laufey at full volume. On loop. For 10 or more minutes. But its so loud that you can’t really make out the lyrics that well (so it’s basically just the instrumental and the melody that laufey’s singing without any distinct words ig)

ON TO THE STORY:

“What the FUCK is that noise?? It’s been playing for the past 10 minutes, which one of you idiots put it on?”, Al says irritably.

Wade, being the himbo that he is, (hey! I am not a himbo, thank you very much!) yes you are Wade, the whole fandom agrees, now SHUSH IM TELLING A STORY (my bad) YES YOUR BAD NOW SHH

says, “How do we know YOU didn’t put it on, hmm Al?

Al shuffles over and whacks him upside the head, “I’M BLIND, MOTHERFUCKER. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT? I DON’T EVEN OWN A GOD DAMN PHONE.”

While..all that..is going on, Logan (who had just woken up from an alcohol-induced nap) stalks into the kitchen wearing a pair of Wade’s hot pink Hello Kitty pajamas, with his eyes reduced to slits (cause yk, hangover and stuff ig?) is like

“what the hell are you guys screaming about and what the fuck is that noi-“

And then he cuts off because Wade and Al just very slowly, very carefully, turn in his direction and stare at him (al kinda just turns in his general direction)

“What the fuck are you guys looking-?”

“I can’t see, honey”

“sorry Althea, facing my general direction, for?”

“..is that my phone, peanut?”

“….yes…what about it, bub” and Logan, bless his oblivious soul, crosses his arms and scrunches his nose up, confused.

“Is that my phone, open to SPOTIFY, CURRENTLY PLAYING THE SONG THAT HAS BEEN BLARING ON LOOP FOR THE PAST 10 FUCKING MINUTES? I DON’T KNOW HOW YOU GOT THE PASSWORD TO MY PHONE, BUT THAT IS A QUESTION FOR ANOTHER DAY CAN YOU PLEASE TURN THAT FUCKING THING OFF ITS GIVING ME TINNITUS.”

and Logan, now mostly awake, slowly pauses the song, and just stares at Wade, waiting for a reaction

”Honey badger..did you put that song on..? See I could be wrong, (even though I never am *logan snorts* HEY!) and I couldn’t hear much, but it sounded a bit too classical and was a bit too jazz pop for the big bad Wolverine to listen to. But now I’m curious sooooo can I see? Pleeeease?”

And Logan, being down bad obviously reluctantly gives it to him cause who is he to not please Wade when he’s begging?? He can’t just NOT when Wade looks so pretty and earnest and is genuinely curious and he knows he won’t make fun of Logan no matter what and he’s pretty and HE’S JUST REALLY PRETTY WE GET IT SHUT UP NOW INNER MONOLOGUE.

Wade gently takes the phone from him and knits his, what would be eyebrows, together

“While you were sleeping?? Kitten (Logan almost chokes at that btw) are you stalking someone? Why didn’t you tell me I could’ve helped!” Wade jokes “Okay but actually, who’s Laufey?”

Logan’s eyes widen and his entire face turns red, not from a blush but from anger. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON’T KNOW WHO LAUFEY IS SHE’S AN AMAZING ARTIST AND ACTUALLY TALENTED HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW HER?? I’ve been alive for 200 years, bub, but she’s one of the best artists I’ve ever listened to in my god damn life! How DARE you insult her by not even knowing who she is.”

Wade, who was not paying attention, (Yes i was!) don’t lie to yourself Wade you literally weren’t.

I JUST wrote that you weren’t paying attention, now FOLLOW THE SCRIPT OMG (okay okay but keep going youre making the readers wait too damn long) SHUT YOUR YAP I KNOW ALREADY OH MY FUCKING GOD.

they do end up going to the radwimps concert btw (mutsi asked, very awkwardly ofc). and they have a good time together, after they argue about wearing earplugs of course (urie is pro earplugs, mutsuki would be happy to go deaf over a radwimps concert- mutsuki compromises and wears one earplug). mutsi falls asleep on urie's shoulder in the cab on the way home. he doesn't shrug him off or try to wake him up (until they get to the chateau). a win for fangirl saiko tbh, especially since they start following each other on spotify after :3 a step in the right direction. a bonding moment, even.

Putting this under a read more because it got long af.

God i think part of the reason why im so obsessed with him is the duality of his character and artistic expression. He used to describe himself as conflicted a lot, especially in his earlier interviews and that pretty much hits the nail in the head i think. I love both his music and filthy frank a lot but I wouldn't be so fascinated with the person behind either of these things if they weren't made by the same guy. I just think he is a fascinating character.

What got me into him? I'm honestly pretty late to the party, i stumbled upon slow dancing in the dark on some random playlist at some point mid 2023. Slow dancing in the dark got famous for a reason: its so fucking good, i was playing it on a loop for weeks. Later i stumbled upon pretty boy, once again by pure chance. I was playing it on loop for a looong time as well. I hadn't even noticed that both of these songs were by the same artist at the time.

Fast forward a few months later, someone i follow here on tumblr dot com rebloged a post that expressed ops utter bafflement that filthy frank had turned his career around so dramatically and that he was a "sadboy musician now". The term slursona was thrown around. The ballads 1 album cover was included in the post and i recognised it imediatelly but i also recognised the name filthy frank.

You see, back in the day my older sister was a huge fan. She was really into this era of youtube bless her heart but ff was one of her faves. She had showed me human ramen AND hair cake back then but i was pretty young and I didn't really speak english well enough to fully understand what was going on. Nonetheless, i was morbidly fascinated but i never got into ff myself. Still i knew who he was.

Finding out that i was listening to his music a DECADE later from a random tumblr post gave me the whiplash of my fucking life. I genuinely got so scared i went and removed sditd from my character playlists and spotify liked songs lol. I let that revelation shimmer within me for a few months until one day i finally decided that i should do some research on the matter. I think i watched the slow dancing in the dark mv first and it completely blew me away. Then i watched the weeaboos video and it made me cry from laughter.

Somehow i ended up listening to his entire discography and watching Every Single filthy frank video ever made. At some point i discovered the notorious filthy frank exposes himself video and that once again blew my mind. I realised that he was the one who accidentally started the harlem shake trend back in 2013. Blew my mind. I listened to pink season ans i realised that the help song ive been seeing around since forever was a pink guy song. Blew my mind. I went home for the holidays and i talked to my other sister about my newfound obsession. Turns out she knew him from glimpses of us. Blew her mind too. Talked to my brother, he knew him from glimpses of us as well. We were all screaming about it for a few days.

This whole phase of mine started at some point in March and its only been getting worse. I don't know how we got here but im not complaining.

If i had to choose a favourite song.... sanctuary is my most listened to song of the year so far, so i probably have to go with that but also sditd, you suck Charlie, like you do, pretty boy, yukon, Mr Hollywood, no fun, demons, see you in 40, nightrider, modus (just to name a few)..... they all hold a very special place in my heart... I just love pretty much most of his songs a whole lot.

As for favourite quote im afraid I don't have a super serious answer to this question fjdksdks. "I just wanna make people sad and horny" is a strong one but also "sorry for being An Fag" and "fucking everyone smokes weed in central park...." fascinate me to no end.

ok in all seriousness. And ill try to keep this as short as i can. theeee lz experience is hearing them play live, rather than the studio recordings. This may sound weird to hear from a guy born 20 years after lz stopped doing shows lol but theres a LOT of material out there that u can watch/listen to if u wanna get (what i assume is a fraction of) the experience. Probably the easiest thing to find and in best quality (though in my exp the quality of online streams is still atrocious, maybe theres some hq torrents though?) is “the song remains the same”, a concert film of three dates they played at MSG in 1973. but theres also videos floating around of their concerts at Royal Albert Hall 1970 and Earls court 1975 (you can check yt for these) plus a few odds and ends here and there (im a big fan of this tv appearance in france 1969, though this was super early on so their performance “style” isnt yet well defined, esp wrt plant, but the actual playing is still peak imo)

as far of audio-only live recordings go, theres of course the album version of TSRTS, the BBC sessions album (of various radio appearances they did through the years), and the album called “how the west was won” with live versions of many of their more popular songs taken from a couple dates in california in i believe 1972. These are all on spotify or yt or wherever else u listento music. Theyre also really well mastered (and remastered, and re remastered…) bc Jimmy Page is anal like that. So even if theyre live theyre great quality and u can hear every instrument distinctly.

ALSO theres like a million lz bootlegs out there, which is like its own niche subfandom(?). A bootleg is an illegal recording that fans made back in the 70s and then spread around and/or sold for money. the digital versions of many of these are available on yt and archive.org but theres also a huge marked of selling them, the og 70s vinyls are especially prized. idk much about lz bootlegs bc i never could listen to a single one all the way through as all the noise bothers my brain lol so if anyone reading this does and has tips please share<3

I spoke about live stuff bc in my opinion, and also according to members of lz, fans, various music critic type people, basically everyone agrees lol lz studio songs were just kind of the first iteration of what would then mutate and stretch into a more loose, longer, live experience. Imo lz, studio or live, is some of the best music ever made point blank period, but its definitely not for everyone, in that you have to be able to get in that classic rock/prog rock* type of mood of songs lasting anywhere from 6 minutes studio to 35 minutes live, and taking you on this weird journey with ebbs and flows, rather than having a tight structure that is easier to follow and listen to like all pop music ever. i mean this in an entirely value neutral way: a pop song, whether from 1965 or 2015, is easy to listen to bc IT carries YOU through the listening experience, whether you want to or not, whereas for instance a 20 min version of dazed and confused live requires you to willingly be there. Its not work or effort, exactly (at least not to me) but it definitely requires a different type of attention.

Added five days ago was Waste My Time - Scandroid X Celldweller!

This song came out a day before my birthday. XD I was soooo hyped and it delivers! Klay is both Scandroid and Celldweller, but they projects have very different styles. So when he makes something that mixes those style, he puts both names. This song is kind of has a... punk rock? Vibe? Which is new from Klay! So I really love it. This was originally going to be a song with someone else, but things fell apart and it seems he got to repurpose it for something else!

Hey everyone! I figure that now that I have a Tumblr account, I should introduce myself to my fellow Tumblr users. Because why not??

Dear Evan Hansen was the first musical I actually got obsessed with after reading the novelization.

Saw a “Candy Store” and then “Beautiful” animatic & now I’m part of the Heathers fandom

Heard Annapantsu’s cover of “All You Wanna Do,” thought Six sounded interesting, heard the Aimie Atkinson version, fell in love. Then heard “Don’t Lose Ur Head” on Spotify - Became a hardcore fan after hearing those two songs 

I wanted to like Be More Chill because out of all the musicals, the plot of BMC sounded the most interesting. I like some of the songs (mainly “Be More Chill Pt. 1,” “A Guy That I’d Kinda Be Into,” “Michael in the Bathroom,” and “The Smartphone Hour [Rich Set a Fire]”), and everyone’s (both OG Cast & Broadway) vocals are great, but a lot of the songs aren’t doing it for me

Musicals to get into: Beetlejuice, Mean Girls (I enjoy “Meet the Plastics” though), Hadestown

So I’m excited that you chose 53, cause that’s Love Is Dead And We Killed Her by Doll Skin which is one of my favorite bands. Y’all should check them out! 

“Fuck.” The dark figure pulled off his helmet and examined the motionless body in front of him. 

This was the fifth time that (y/n)’s target got snubbed before he could press his dagger in. 

The FIFTH TIME. 

It was unacceptable. (y/n) prided himself as the best killer for hire around; he was efficient, never asked questions, and stood by his strong moral code. He was regarded as an elite assassin, and would /usually/ get his kill no problem. However, lately, someone was being given the same target and was just slightly faster. And the worst part about it was how sloppy they were. They didn’t even use elegant methods to eliminate their targets, just a bullet, and nothing more. (y/n) sighed, kicking the lifeless body. This was unacceptable. 

This time he was going to kill his target first.

Or kill the bastard that was always one step ahead of him.

Whoever he happened to see first.  

This next target was easy. A hotshot mafia member who had stepped out of line, throwing an elaborate party to try and throw off any retaliation. Sneak into the party, take out the target discreetly, get out. Nothing he hadn’t done before. (y/n) stepped out of his car and threw his keys to the valet. He adjusted the cuffs of his finely pressed black suit, gave off a confident smirk, and made his way into the extravagant party. 

Throughout the evening, (y/n) kept a low profile, until his target was located, loudly bragging about his party at the bar. (y/n) joined the small crowd talking to him, pretending to hang on every word, as he carefully reached to slip poison into the host’s drink. Before he could reach, he felt a strong hand seize his wrist and pull him back. (y/n) whipped around to be face to face with the aggressor. 

“Oh, how I’ve been /dying/ to meet you.”

(y/n) quickly slipped the vile back into his sleeve, glaring hard at the man who had interrupted at the worst possible moment. “I’m sorry,” (y/n) attempted to pull his arm away, but couldn’t break through the man’s surprisingly strong grip. He quickly glanced to the target, who didn’t seem to notice the kerfuffle, “I believe you may be mistaken, I’m not who you’re looking for.” 

The tall man grinned, “Oh don’t worry, you’re exactly who I am looking for.” He pulled him in close and whispered, “And unless you want everyone here to know that you were about to slip something into that guy’s drink, I advise you just play along.”

(y/n) gawked at the man, and was met with a seemingly innocent grin.

 “You can call me Oikawa.” The man mentioned, before pulling (y/n) away from the group. (y/n) stumbled behind him, getting a good long look at him. He was tall, well built, well-kempt brown hair, and had this aura around him that just screamed asshole. The man stopped suddenly, pulling (y/n) close to him, “How about a dance?”

Before he could answer, Oikawa began moving them swiftly across the dancefloor. 

“W-What are you doing??” (y/n) asked in a slightly too loud way, drawing a handful of curious onlookers. 

“Calm down,” The man responded in a cheerful tone that was somehow full of malice, “And don’t make me look bad.”

All (y/n) could do was match his pace, unless he wanted to be hit by the other dancing couples. As they gracefully moved around the room, (y/n) studied the mysterious yet irritating stranger’s face. He was irritating, but damn, (y/n) had to admit he was pretty. /Too bad his personality ruins it/ thought (y/n) as he was spun around.

 /Whatever, once this finishes I’ll sneak away to finish what I was doing/. As the song ended, Oikawa looked down at (y/n), “You’re a surprisingly decent dancer,” he laughed, “With a bit of practice, you could be an adequate dance partner for me.”

“Well,” (y/n) replied, finally able to remove himself from the man’s grip “I’m not sure what this was but this was... something. But if you’ll excuse me.” (y/n) made his way out onto the balcony, trying to reassess his situation. (y/n) leaned against the railing, sighing loudly. /This is the worst./ 

“What’s wrong, babe?” A familiarly irritating voice asked, making (y/n) jump slightly. (y/n) whipped around, and was yet again face to face with Oikawa. 

(y/n) squinted at him, “Why do you insist on following me around?” 

“Because you’re interesting.” Oikawa leaned his back on the railing next to (y/n), “And I’ve been so dreadfully bored.  And you have to admit, being with me this evening was fun.”

There was a pleasant moment of silence, as (y/n) stared at Oikawa’s carefree demeanor. This moment was over faster than it started, as Oikawa’s eyes widened and he grinned, “Oh! I almost forgot!”

(y/n) turned to see where Oikawa was staring and saw the host of the party, his target. Faster than (y/n) could process, the brunette pulled out a silenced pistol, and shot the host straight in the back of the head. 

“What??” (y/n) yelled at him, staring at the gun. “What?!” he yelled again, this time toward the motionless body of his target on the floor.

Oikawa turned to (y/n), “Sorry to cut our evening short, but I must be going.” He jumped up onto the railing, “And once again, it was a pleasure to finally meet you. I’ll see you next time.” As if to punctuate his sentence in the most dramatic way possible, Oikawa blew (y/n) a kiss, before leaping off and disappearing into the darkness.

 As screams erupted and the party turned to chaos, (y/n) was frozen. The man’s words echoed in his head. /That bastard/.

I really get how that My Bestie song became so popular and at this point I’m afraid to ask. Like, I don’t understand what the lyrics mean, and it gets kinda annoying after the third Instragram reel that features it, but to each their own, I guess?

Bring Me To Life is one of the most dramatic, accidental meme songs in existence, but when I listen to it I can’t help but be taken back to my late childhood/early teenage years where I’d watch Pokemon or Sonic AMVs including it non-stop. It were some shit years, but the memories I have about joining internet fandom in what small ways I had are irreplaceable and I wouldn’t give them up for the entire world.

The same principle works for Going Under and My Immortal, btw. “Sad Sonic Fanarts Vid” vibes all around.

something ive been especially thinking about is this guy who said “im gonna rape you” to one of their friends it was a celebrity…no. not really. it was some guy who was doing well on tiktok,,, the account was niche. so ill say they had a good amount of viewers for the fandom content they were making. they made a. discord server and i joined!! before i knew they were a terrible person this person was extremely intimidating, albeit thats probably because thats my opinion on mostly everyone. we talked sometimes, but our interactions were very brief. nonetheless, we got along well. i was very close friends with this persons best friend, though, and we even kept in touch after!! actually id say i was best friends qith their best friend. so that made me feel a bit special. anywho the best friend evwntually left tje server and when i asked why i was faced with a lot of drama which i wont say for the time being. but it was BAD. anywho that person, the “famous” one, has a spotify account which i follow them on…i stalk them from time to time from there. those xaptions actually reveal a lot believe me

Words with Jetson

Our next interview is with a producer and rapper out of a beautiful place known as Tauranga, in New Zealand, This creative is known as Jetson.

He happens to be one of my cat, Rain's personal favourites for sleep time and regardless of the amount of thumping bass Jetson's music creates and picture frames it knocks over, I understand why he sleeps so sweetly.

Probably a lot to do with the fact that bass has rhythm, just like the sweet sweet words Jetson correlates with his word-plays in tracks such as "Milk" and "SENSEI". Not only impressing cats, Jetson has made moves and connections beyond the long white cloud, proving isolation doesn't always silence brilliance. Jetson brings words any generation can hold some sort of relevance to, words that allow one to notice life moves fast and slow and sometimes you just have to chill and become an observer rather than an instigator.

This is something I feel Jetson has accomplished with his rather low-key approach to releases and interviews.

Jetson is a natural, a true prodigy of sound and a sharer of moods, and to me, is a reminder that with a little bit of passion and persistence, great things can happen, whatever your field.

Jetson’s collective and label - Chill Children is evidence of that, as through it , Jetson is able to work and release with producers and beat-makers all over the globe.

emo the optimist, BACKWHEN, fuyu, eets, and junyii are just some of the diverse talents working with Chill Children and everyone on the catalogue are game-changers that make music that’s anointed in chills. 

Creators that push boundaries and portray emotion through sound in the most soothing way, one must check Chill Children.

Thanks for that, so let's start by asking what inspires you to produce and not only produce but continually produce, what to me is an array of tunes fitting so many genres?

Do you have a set of goals in place when you release a track or do you just hit upload and just hope people are feeling your sound?

What I like to listen to is constantly changing so I like to challenge myself to try and make the things that I'm inspired by.

I like to think that you never know what you're gonna get when you listen to my music but I've still got so much to learn and experiment with. I just try have fun with it and not think about it too much.

How long have you been producing music, and what did you find was hardest to get the hang of when it first came to producing beats?

I had no music theory knowledge or anything when I started making beats (I still don't have much) so there was a lot to learn right away.

Probably the hardest thing that I still battle with is knowing what you should release, what you shouldn't etc. It's hard to balance knowing when something is finished and when it still needs work.

Could you give a quick run-through of the process you follow when it comes to making a beat?

I try to change my process as much as I can to keep things fresh and fun for myself. But I really enjoy hearing a sample somewhere like keys, a quote or a rapper I want to remix, then I start working with that piece and see where it goes.

I'll mess around with the beat for a while and sometimes a track comes out. It can take one day, it can take months. Just depends.

Oldies are always goodies in my books and I have to mention your "bumps from 2014" mixtape, it truly is something special.

What inspired those little bumps? What were you doing back then? Also, can you remember the mood you were in when you made them?

I'm glad you like it haha. That was when I really had no clue what I was doing in terms of making beats, I was making all of those 'off the grid' in Ableton so I was placing drums in random places, I had no idea what bpm the samples were or anything. I really didn't know wtf I was doing, just going off of a vibe. 

My mood was really just being excited about making music, I was living in the basement at my mum's house blasting beats on the speakers all day.

You are also a rapper. My favourite NZ rapper to be more precise so thank you for the vibes you create. How did you find out you had it in you to rap and how old were you?

Damn, I appreciate that ✌️ I started rapping with a friend of mine, Jesse aka j cafe when we were around 20. We'd sit in my room smoking weed, and free-styling over beats on Soundcloud all night. 

Then we decided to make a track, so we found a beat and jumped in the closet to record some vocals on the laptop microphone.

We put it up on Soundcloud and I've been addicted to making music ever since.

When did you first start rapping in front of others? What did it feel like in the beginning compared to now when you perform live?

I was insanely nervous the first time I ever did anything live and that feeling really hasn't left me lol.

Except now I know how to deal with nerves a bit better and actually enjoy the whole experience of doing something live.

I definitely think I'm a lot better now than my first time doing it, but I still kinda suck 😂 Staying on topic with your rapping, material-wise you have mad skills, your music is forever helping me chill out so thank you.

When did you start writing down your words and turning them into structured songs? Do you have any other artists that inspire your writing style?

When I was younger I really liked the flow of rappers rather than what they were actually saying.

Dudes like MF Doom and Earl Sweatshirt really influenced me at the start wanting to come up with lines that were catchy and different.

To form an actual track I usually just mumble over beats to get the flow, then I start placing words in the spots where I think they fit.

Does your family know you make music? If so what do they think of it, any dance parties in the Jetson Family Household? 

My immediate family all know and support my music. My mum used to have one of my tracks as her ringtone for years lol.

No jetson dance parties yet, but seems like every year more people in my extended family know about my music.

You were also a member of NZ Duo, Chill Children of which you rap and produce with yet another kiwi talent, both having low-key approaches when it comes to presenting yourselves through social media. What happened with that?

Me and J Cafe started Chill Children as a rap project in the early days but we moved to different places in the world and started doing our own solo projects so things sort of stopped happening with it.

I still credit those times with really getting me started on music though. He's still making dope shit and we'll probably link up on a track soon.

So then it became a sort of collective community, and through your Chill Children Soundcloud, you allow a platform for other artists to have their music heard.

Much Love on the concept, What inspired you to start sharing other artists music and what keeps you sharing? I'm very grateful btw, too many gems.

I work on music a lot with my friend emo the optimist (aka kodama) and we always wanted to run a label/collective kind of thing so we could release music from artists that we really liked.

After me and Jesse started doing our own thing, Chill Children seemed like the perfect place to start doing that.

It's one of my favorite things to work on as we have a hand in working with the artists on every release. I just love that we're able to share so much music that we really like with the world.

We always have new music from new artists dropping so definitely follow our instagram/twitter if you want to stay updated on it.

We're currently working on a phonk compilation with guys like DJ Yung Vamp, Genshin etc. It's gonna be crazy 🤯

Back to your solo releases through your alias Jetson. What made you want to start putting out your material alone? Also, do you have a favourite Jetson release?

I really felt like I had to release music solo to see what I could do.

I've learned so much about myself through that process, became more confident and a better musician.

Probably my favorite rap track I've made is called 'Escape'.

Not many people have heard it but it's on Spotify and other places.

My favorite beat I've made is probably 'dylan rieder'.

Have to ask, are you working on any new releases we should keep an ear out for? If so, what can we expect with your coming releases?

I just released an album on Bandcamp called THROWED TAPES which was really influenced by DJ screw and other phonk producers.

I'm working on a lofi R&B tape for Bandcamp, a lofi beat tape, and I really want to release a rap EP.

Who knows when those will come out though haha

Taking it back a little to your rapping again I have to mention "Milk". What inspires the words in this track?

Also please share the story behind your track "Melancholy"? The words are somewhat mesmerizing, thank you!

With milk, I just heard the beat from bsd.u and really wanted to make something weird that just followed the flow of the beat.

On melancholy I tried to think about what I was saying a little more. The instrumental is so introspective and smooth I knew I had to come correct on it.
