What we give to God, God gives to us.

If we search for God halfheartedly, and still have our eyes on the things of the world, then we will not find God, since we don’t desire him with our whole heart.

But if we search for God with everything we’ve got, he will reasoned by giving us all of himself.

God desires to be our first love, to have first place in our heart. He wants to be the one that we rely on the most, and the one we always have faith in, regardless of our circumstances.

Our spiritual lives reflect our attitudes towards the Lord. If we have little faith in him, he will honor our hearts, and not perform the miracles we ask of him. How does it feel when you’re asked to do something by someone who doesn’t even think you can pull it off?

“Hey John, can you move this heavy box for me? I know you probably can’t do it, but can you move it for me anyway?”

One thing about God’s character is that he always responds to radical acts of faith.

The bleeding woman was healed by Jesus because of her absolute faith in him. The Roman Centurion’s son was healed because of his faith in the Lord. Zaccheaus had Jesus stay in his house because of his desire to see him walk by.

Every miracle that Jesus performed was a response to their belief in him, and if therefore to go to him in the first place. When God sees that somebody is after his heart, and they humble themselves before him, he gives them what they want.

Our spiritual life is like that of a mustard seed. While it’s small and the least of all the seeds, it can grow into something radical through the life giving water that Jesus provides, and the sunlight of God’s splendid glory.

When we give God all that we have, however small that may be, he gives us all that he has.

This is a relationship after all, and the best relationships are those where both parties give their 100%.

But how do we strengthen our faith? The Bible is the answer.

God provides us with countless examples of his generosity, love, and miraculous wonders. It’s through his word that get to know his character, what he loves and hates, and how to draw closer to him.

We look forwards by looking backwards.

Through the study of his word, we gain a better understanding of his character, and the more we get to know him, the stronger our faith in him becomes.

Cutting out other distractions is also a big help.

Put away the phone for a bit, and spend time in his word. Spend sometime in nature instead on Netflix (or whatever streaming service you’ve got access to). Try to discuss the Bible with your friends (and they aren’t into that, maybe find some better friends).

Our lives should be a life along response to the grace that God has showed us on the cross and in the life of Jesus Christ.

He gave his all for us, let’s try to do the same for him.

One thing I rly hate in fandoms is ooc angst just be for the sake of having angst. It gets to the point where a lot of angst is corny to me bcuz ppl just make it to be emo without considering whether or not it actually aligns with canon

Kou Minamoto is one of the biggest examples of this that I’ve seen. There are so many angst posts abt him being sad that Nene is with Hanako, when he acts the exact opposite way in canon. The only time he’s really acted jealous over her was when Teru flirted with her, and that was more because he felt betrayed by his brother. He didn’t seem upset at all when Hanako crashed their “date” in Yako’s boundary, in fact he was perfectly happy to let Hanako tag along

There is plenty of angst to be made with Kounene, especially considering Nene’s short lifespan. Since the ship is treated as the designated “healthy” pairing in the fandom I also don’t see a lot of talk about how Kou’s savior complex would negatively impact their relationship. There’s just so much to talk about with them outside of the whole “Kou is sad because Nene has a boyfriend” thing. Kou has a boyfriend too so like, now what?? I’ll admit I’m very biased here, I don’t like the unrequited love trope very much. The angst that goes along with it isn’t really my cup of tea, so whenever I make Kounene fics/posts they’re almost always from Nene’s pov with her liking him back. It’s not that it’s too sad for me it’s just kinda lukewarm?? And some of it gives Nice Guy vibes idk. The way I see it, if one character isn’t interested then that’s where the relationship ends, so I don’t see the point in shipping anything that’s completely one-sided. Not trying to yuck anyone’s yums, this is just a preference

Anyways Kounene is a really good ship with a lot of potential besides just being “sad boy Kou hours.” There is another character that Kou gets very possessive over but for once this ain’t about them so I’m directing my attention towards Kounene. And preferences aside, I’d rather the angst just be in character. Teru is a character that gets very mopey about his crush being one-sided, so a lot of these Kounene angst posts would work great with him and Aoi or Akane. Again, it’s not my favorite trope in the world but I can see how it would make sense with him. But for Kounene I think there’s so much angst (and fluff) potential we’ve been missing out on by reusing the same trope. Let’s get creative with it!

vaguing a post that's on my dash that I don't want to engage with (as usual) but actually no CPTSD isn't a diagnosis for 'when things were a tiny bit bad a lot' or 'if you experienced relationships that were toxic but not abusive' it's a diagnosis describing the impacts of CONTINUOUS TRAUMA. not less significant but more frequent trauma; trauma which is ongoing/continuous/recurring in developmental years.

like I'm not trying to gatekeep here and I recognise the value of saying 'it doesn't have to be a Single Big Obvious Trauma' because one key thing about CPTSD is that generally it makes traumatic incidents Your Normal so you don't necessarily view them as unusual or concerning. but I often see people talk about CPTSD as if it implies smaller individual incidents than PTSD and that just is not the case.

most experiences I have seen people be diagnosed with CPTSD for (myself included) are not 'a little bit toxic'. they are things which, each incident taken separately, an outsider would still recognise as traumatic - medical emergencies, rape and sexual abuse, significant physical violence, emotional abuse and coercive control, homelessness, severe poverty, war, torture, etc - and the thing that makes the PTSD C is not the relative level of the trauma, but the fact that it's enough of a repeated and consistent pattern, at an early enough stage, and sufficiently embedded in everyday life, that it becomes a person's baseline for 'normal'.

CPTSD is not a synonym for emotional microtraumas or cumulative trauma or 'death by a thousand cuts'. It's specifically defining the psychological differences in response to long term formative trauma as opposed to traumatic events which you process as an aberration (eg the difference between regular violence against you from trusted adults in childhood vs being physically abused for the first time in adulthood with existing experience of healthy relationships). Traumas causing CPTSD tend to be pretty similar in type, scale and severity to traumas causing standard PTSD - they are just more embedded and normalised earlier in life.

all this to say there's nothing wrong with acknowledging that cumulative microtraumas can affect us in traumatic ways. there's nothing wrong with pointing out that there's a broad range of types of trauma, and trauma can include stuff like growing up marginalised or ill as well as abuse, war, injury or immediate loss. there's nothing wrong, too, with acknowledging that a lot that is traumatic doesn't necessarily feel traumatic to you.

but like. no. CPTSD is not a diagnosis for people whose trauma wasn't 'big enough' for PTSD. CPTSD is not cumulative microtraumas. CPTSD is a response to formative macrotraumas or to a long term traumatic situation without hope of escape or change and if you want to talk about microtraumas then do that but it's not what CPTSD is!

something that I think the “have fun and be yourself” discourse tends to miss is that it’s all very well saying do whatever you want and don’t worry about what people think because the people who judge you aren’t worth your time, but sometimes you choose to act normal because you have a task to do or you’re in a conversation that you care about, and having to stop in the middle for your interlocutor to say bewilderedly “but why did you do that in such a quirky way” would be wasting time and getting off topic. choosing to act normal to avoid that is not being inauthentic out of unhealthy fear of censure. it’s just prudence.
