I hate you too Pt.1
Adam Faulkner-Stanheight x afab!reader
Minors dni
Warnings: nsfw, alcohol use
Fic type: enemies to lovers, smut, a dash of fluff at the very end, also Scott Tibbs cameo teehee
Summary: you and Adam have been rivals for years, but after begrudgingly letting him crash at your apartment, things take an unexpected turn.
A/n: this is my first time writing a smut in YEARS so I'm a little rusty. This is just a short one, but I how you enjoy it! I've maybe got an idea for a part two of this, so let me know if you want it!
"Are you fucking kidding me? You didn't tell me he was gonna be here" you huffed to your friend, Mark.
"Was I meant to?" He asked, looking at you as if you were insane.
"Yes! I wouldn't have come if I knew he was gonna be here"
You were at some sleazy dive bar, you and a group of friends had decided you all needed to get outside and have some fun- well, you, your friends and him.
"Him" was Adam, a twenty seven year old photographer with a mean attitude. He was as much of a part of the group as you were, his friends were your friends and they all got along. However, for some reason the pair of you never clicked. You thought he was hot-headed and rude, while he thought you were vapid and snarky.
"Come on, just play nice for tonight, alright?" Mark pleaded with you, "he's been having a rough time lately. You know it's coming up on one year now..."
Almost a year ago, Adam had had a pretty terrible ordeal. He'd been kidnapped by a serial killer and chained up somewhere. He was missing for about a week before he was found, shackled, bloody and nearly dead. You hated his guts, but even you found yourself worrying for him. You recalled back to when you and your friends had visited him in the hospital...
...
"I didn't know any of you guys could bake, who made these? They're better than an orgasm" Adam groaned, munching away on a third cookie.
"That was your best friend" Mark had teased, while your other friend, Scott let out a snigger.
"You made me cookies?" Adam raised an eyebrow at you "have you tampered with these in any way?"
"No, I haven't tampered with them you dumbass. Besides, you're literally going in for your fourth one right now, would it really matter if I had at this point?" You rolled your eyes.
Mark and Scott giggled to themselves, they loved watching the two of you argue.
"So if you're not trying to poison me, then why did you...?"
"Look, this doesn't mean we're friends or anything, okay. I just... I guess getting kidnapped probably sucked" you looked away, not wanting to continue taking and accidentally say something too nice.
...
Adam came over to the booth where you, Scott and Mark had been sat, sipping on beers.
"I think that's my cue to go for a cigarette" you said, rising from your seat.
"You gotta cut down on those man, they'll kill you someday" Scott tutted, half joking.
"Don't threaten me with a good time" you called as you dissappeared into the outdoor smoking area.
It was peaceful out there, no one else but you. You huddled yourself under a grimy looking awning and struggled to light your cigarette with your shitty, dying lighter.
"You shouldn't joke about that shit" an all too familiar voice broke the silence.
You spun around, slightly startled, to see Adam stood there.
"Don't follow me, you creep" you scoffed, unable to hide the disgust in your face, even if you wanted to.
"I'm serious, don't joke about wanting to die in public. You don't know who's listening"
He was referring to jigsaw, of course. His whole "cherish your life" thing made jokes like that grounds for kidnap and torture. Adam had a good point.
"Just looking out for you" he said, his unwelcoming expression unchanging.
You glared at him, your frustration building as you struggled to light your cigarette.
"Just use this" he tossed his own lighter to you.
"Thanks".
When you had finished lighting yours, Adam lit up one for himself. The two of you smoked in silence, avoiding eye contact and shuffling your feet awkwardly.
...
Your walk home was a strange one, to say the least. Your mind felt cloudy, so you decided to take the long way home. You'd drank just enough alcohol to reach a weird stare of clarity, where your mind was alert enough for you to think coherently, but uninhibited so that you could think about things your sober mind had tried to avoid. Your dream of consciousness ran wild, leading you to all sorts of conclusions.
"Why am I still single? The guys in this city are ugly, that's why. No, that's mean. They're not ugly, just boring yuppie types. I'm friends with the three good looking guys in the city but you couldn't pay me to date them. Oh, admitting that Adam is your friend? Admitting that he's good looking are we now? Okay well maybe he's not my friend, but it's been well established that he's a good looking guy. Hate to admit it, but if his mouth never opened I'd probably find him hot.
Your train of thought took all sorts of twists and turns, but it kept seeming to take you back to thoughts of Adam. You put it down to being drunk and stupid, reminding yourself that you despised Adam, you couldn't stand to see his face, you couldn't stand his whiney, high pitched voice. Ugh. It was so irritating you could practically hear it- no, you could hear it, like really, actually hear it.
"What the fuck? Why didn't my landlord tell me he was doing this tonight?"
Adam was pacing back and forth on the sidewalk, next to his apartment building, which had been draped in a yellow and black striped tent. As he paced, he whacked his mobile phone with his hand a few times, muttering things like "shit" and "Come on, stupid thing".
It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what had happened here. Adam's apartment building had been fumigated, and with no working phone, he was pretty much stranded for the night. You couldn't help but laugh.
Adam's eyes shot towards you, his expression a mixture of hatred and relief. You were the last person he wanted to see him struggle, but at least he knew you'd begrudgingly help him out.
"Jesus y/n, you scared the shit outta me. Did you follow me or something?"
You shook your head.
"I was out for a walk, this little shitshow" you pointed toward him "was just a happy coincidence."
Adam bit the insides of his cheeks. He wanted to be rude to you, he wanted so bad to wipe that smug grin off your face, but he knew he couldn't, not while he needed something from you.
"Can I borrow your phone? I need to call scott" his voice had no inflection whatsoever.
"Negative. Out of juice"
"Ah jesus, fuck.." Adam held his head and began to pace. He looked less annoyed and more concerned now.
"Fuck!" He yelled through gritted teeth, throwing his nokia onto the floor. In an anticlimactic bounce, it landed by your feet.
"Jeez, if it's that serious you can just charge this thing at my place" you sighed, picking up his phone and noting that you had the same one.
Adam looked at you as though you were lying to him.
"Come ON, before I change my mind" you ordered, finally feeling the cold of the night, and wanting to be inside quickly.
Adam followed, and the two of you walked in silence.
...
There was something palpable in the air of your tiny apartment that night, like a storm brewing. It intensified by the second, and when Adam threw himself onto your sofa as if he owned the place it only became stronger. You marched to your bedroom to grab your charger, quietly seething. Everything he did pissed you off. The way he so arrogantly shoved your decorative cushions aside so he could sit, the way he looked at your posters, your furniture. Judging, silently judging. You tossed him the charger, and sat in an armchair. The sofa had plenty of room for you to sit too, but the thought of being in such close proximity to him filled you with a white hot burning rage.
Some time passed, neither of you had spoken, instead opting to chainsmoke. Part of you was hoping the thick cloud of smoke would obscure your view of him. The silence sat heavily above you, until Adam's voice broke through it.
"Scott's not picking up."
"Have you tried Mar-"
"Obviously I've tried Mark"
Both your sentences were short, snappy. Being alone together was uncomfortable and awkward as all hell, if just one of you could swallow your pride and break the ice it would have been bearable at least, but you were both stubborn as mules.
Adam let out a sigh.
"Look, this isn't ideal for either of us but.." You took a deep breath, "you can stay here if you're really outta options"
Adam responded to this, in what you assumed was his language for gratitude. He liberated a small bottle of whiskey from the inside pocket of hig ratty jacket and plopped it down on the coffee table.
"If this is as much of a nightmare for you as it is for me, then I think we could both use some of this" he said.
"Hey look, finally something we can agree on" you almost laughed, standing up to head to the kitchen and grab two tumblers.
The two of you drank generous amounts, you had put a record on quietly just to add some sort of ambience, because the silence had begun to feel quite oppressive.
"You know, there's probably more than just that" Adam finally said, startling you a little.
"Huh?"
"I mean, there's probably more we agree on than just the fact that tonight is a nightmare"
"Dude, that conversation was like 20 minutes ago, are you slow or something?" You scoffed.
Adam rolled his eyes
"I mean, shit y/n, I love this album. All your posters, the stacks of dvds, we pretty much have the same apartment. Maybe yours is a bit more flouncy than mine.."
"And also yours is filled with bugs judging by that fumigation tent" you quipped, unable to resist the urge to get a jab in.
Adam paused, and gave you a look. It wasn't one you knew how to describe.
"What I'm saying is, we've got a lot in common. I seriously don't get why you have such a problem with me"
You were absolutely dumbfounded. That jerk! He was acting like you were the one with a problem? You sat there with your mouth agape for a second or two, before snapping at him.
"You're the one that started this feud! Always giving me dirty looks, poking fun at the way I dress, which by the way, is ridiculous because we dress exactly the same!" You blurted out, almost raising your voice.
Unexpectedly Adam began to laugh. He threw his head back and cackled like a hyena.
"Have you lost your damn mind?" You asked, a slight tone of seriousness to your voice.
"No, no, no... I- I get out now" Adam struggled to get out between laughs, "I get why we hate eachother so much"
Your curiosity got the better of you
"Why...?"
"Okay so, there's always been something between us, we thought it was animosity, right?" His face became plastered with a devilish grin
"It's not that, it's not that at all. It's sexual tension"
"That's disgusting! You're sick in the head!" You cried out, insulted at the very notion.
"Come on, y/n, we both know it. You wanna hit this sooooo bad" he smirked, his smug, awful grin sending waves of anger throughout your body.
"That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard" you retorted, doing your best to ignore what felt like excitement bubbling in your chest... and other parts of your body.
"Aw, are you too much of a good girl to admit it?" He teased.
You tried to fight it, but it was absolutely no use. Those two words just did something to you. Your body, not wanting to comply with your better judgement, gave away your feelings. You blushed, and Adam saw it.
He let out a low chuckle. He was infuriating, you felt this innate, primal urge deep inside you, like you wanted to pounce on him. But to do what? Punch him? Kiss him? You'd find out in the moment.
"Get up" you ordered, rising to your feet
"Woah, are you gonna try and fight me out something?" Adam laughed, only half concerned.
"I don't know yet" you said flatly, eyes trained on Adam as he stood to face you.
Before you could make a decision, your body reacted for you. Your arms threw themselves around his shoulders, one hand running itself through his surprisingly soft hair, the other resting on the back of his neck, pulling him toward you.
Your lips immediately met his, as you kissed him hungrily. With even more fervor, Adam kissed back, his tongue slipping into your mouth. One of his hands found itself on your waist, the other was groping your ass.
Your mind was racing a hundred miles a minute, this was the stupidest thing you'd ever done, but you'd never felt more alive. It was dangerous, a little wrong even, but so right at the same time.
You pulled away for a second, only to breathlessly utter the word "bedroom".
Adam nodded, before resuming kissing you. Your bodies remained firmly pressed together as you stumbled down the hall and into your bedroom. The two of you removed your jackets and tshirts, tossing them god knows where. You honestly couldn't pinpoint the exact moment when your bodies became horizontal, it was such a blur, but somehow you ended up laying on the bed, Adam on top of you.
He had begun to kiss all over your neck, the sensation of his hot breath making your stomach flip. You let out a few moans as his hands explored your torso, feeling every inch of you. You couldn't see his face, but you knew he had that same shit eating grin as always.
You could feel how hard Adam was through his jeans, he grinded against you and you felt your hips involuntarily buck forwards, wanting more friction. Adam noticed this straight away.
"Someone's impatient" he chuckled, his voice smug as ever
"Shut up" you just about managed to get out between gasps.
"Let's pay a little more attention to your top half first, you can be a good girl and wait a little longer" he whispered as his hands found the clasp of your bra and made hasty work of it.
There was that nickname again, the one that made wetness pool in your panties, the one that made your nails dig into Adam's back as you pulled him closer.
Adam's soft lips gently brushed over your nipples, his tongue dancing across your flesh. He was surprisingly gentle, his delicate touches were just light enough to drive you wild, you desperately needed more.
"Adam..." You whined, hoping he would stop teasing you.
"God, y/n, you're such a greedy little thing, aren't you?" He grinned, "so desperate to be fucked"
He loved seeing you like this, having you right in the palm of his hand. Well aware that Adam was enjoying watching you squirm, a myriad of insults flew through your mind, and you would have called him every single one of them if you didn't want him inside you so badly.
Thankfully, Adam stopped waiting around, and removed your jeans and underwear all in one swift motion. He'd never admit it, but he was getting rather impatient too. His hands on your legs, holding them apart, he stopped for a second to admire your pussy. You were visibly dripping, and knowing that it was he who had done that to you gave Adam a real ego boost. That arrogant son of a bitch.
"So wet for me, y/n" he murmured, eyes glued to your womanhood, as his hands rubbed along the insides of your thighs, getting juuuust close enough to your pussy to make you hyper aware that nothing was touching it- and you needed that touch urgently.
"Stop talking and just fuck me, Stanheight!" You yelled, hoping your voice would sound demanding and assertive, but instead sounding desperate and weak.
"Hmmm" he hummed, as though he were deeply considering what you had just said.
Suddenly you finally felt some sort of touch between your thighs. Two of Adam's fingers ran along your slit, smearing your juices across your entrance, and up to your clit.
The gasp you let out as you threw your head back was partly in pleasure, partly in relief. When his fingers rubbed gently across your clit, your hips rolled, trying to press against his fingers for more friction, but as soon as his fingers were there, they were gone again.
Looking up to see why Adam had stopped, the sight that met you was both unexpected, and an absolute delight. It was Adam, his eyes shut and his beautiful, sharp features accentuated by the low light of your lamp. He was licking your fluids off his fingers.
You felt a brand new wetness begin to spill out of you at this, as you uttered a breathy "fuck, that's hot".
He winked cockily, as he admired the state you were in. Fully Nude, and spread open to show him how wet you were. Hard little nipples and a dazed, blushing face. He found your soft lips and open mouth particularly attractive. He would have loved to shove his cock deep in there until the Mascara ran from your eyes, he thought you'd look quite pretty all tear stained and used. But that was something he would wait for next time, it was too intense for a first time together, and quite frankly, at this point he was getting just as desperate to fuck as you were.
"You got any condoms?" He asked, standing up to unzip his jeans and yank them down with his boxers
"Top drawer" you pointed to your dresser, and sat up on your elbows to get a good look at Adam's naked body. His torso was pale and slim, at the bottom of his tummy a small trail of hairs was dusted across his flesh, leading down to some recently trimmed black hairs. His dick was a wonderful sight, a decent length and a girth that looked like it would stretch you delightfully. He had a pretty pink tip, which was glistening with precum. You made a mental note that at some point you would love to give him a real slow, sloppy blow job.
Adam positioned himself over you, and lined his cock up to your entrance, rubbing his tip up and down your folds.
"I'll be gentle to start off" he whispered, almost tenderly, as he planted a soft kiss at your jawline.
You nodded, signaling that you were ready for him to enter you.
He started off with just that pretty pink tip of his, carefully pushing it into your hole. He let out a low hum, while a gasp escaped your lips.
"More" you whined
"God, you're hot" Adam remarked, a low chuckle escaping his lips.
He eased himself in further, his girth slowly stretching you.
"Shit you're so tight" he muttered, more to himself than to you. "It doesn't hurt, does it?" Adam looked at you, there was a glint of something a little too intimate for hate-fucking in his eyes.
"No, it feels good" you nodded, feeling yourself adjust to his size.
Adam gently pushed the rest of himself inside you, until he was all the way in. After waiting for a few seconds, he began to thrust. He maintained a steady, fast pace. His face buried in your neck breathing you in, your bodies pressed tightly together.
"Oh god Adam" you cried out, loving every second of it. All that rage from earlier had transformed into an insatiable need to feel him all over you. Your hands roamed up and down his back, running through his hair and gripping onto his body, holding him close as your legs wrapped around him, letting him in deeper.
Adam lifted his head from the crook of your neck and abruptly stopped thrusting. He was looking down at you now, that cocky grin plastered over his face.
"Thought you were meant to hate me, hm?" He said.
"Who said I didn't" you uttered, breathlessly.
"Well if that's the case, then maybe I should stop"
Oh he was good.
"Don't you even think about it" you said urgently.
Adam's face could only be described as mischievous, as he pulled himself up and slowly began pulling his dick out of you. You let out a small whimper at the loss of the feeling of him filling you up.
"I wanna know how badly you want it" he smirked, absent mindedly rubbing his hand along your thigh.
He knew just how to drive you wild, his soft touches and playful teasing made your core feel like it was on fire.
"C'mon Adam, quit fucking around" you whined.
He shook his head
"Beg."
That bastard.
Never in your life would you ever have imagined needing something from Adam Stanheight so badly that you would be willing to beg for it, let alone this, but now it was actually happening, you were seriously considering it.
He rubbed his tip up and down your folds, teasing your entrance and making it nearly impossible to resist. You couldn't fight it, you needed him. You had to swallow your pride and do what he wanted.
With redness painting your cheeks, and all your pride out of the window, you uttered a small "please"
"Please what?" Adam smiled slyly.
"Please fuck me" You said, a little louder now.
"Throw my name in there and I'll consider it"
This was humiliating, this went against everything you stood for, there was no wa-
"Please Adam, please please fuck me"
"Well since you asked so nicely"
There was no build up before Adam plunged himself deep into you, and this time he went harder than before. The obscene sounds of slapping skin and moans filled the air. He held your legs open as he took in what he considered to be the most wonderful sight; your tits bouncing with each thrust, your hands clutching into the bedsheets, your mouth wide open to let out moans of his name. God how he loved the way you said his name.
"Fuck, y/n, why'd we wait so long to do this, huh?" He panted through thrusts
You wanted to respond with something sarcastic, but with Adam repeatedly hitting your sweet spot, there was no way you could form a sentence, or ever remember what words were for that matter. As you started to see stars, finally two words managed to make their way to the forefront of your mind, and you screamed them.
"I'm cumming, I'm cumming!"
"Shit... fuck, me too" Adam groaned, burying his cock deep inside you, before grinding his hips and releasing.
...
When Adam returned from cleaning himself up in the bathroom, he wore nothing but his boxers.
"I uhh.. I got you a glass of water" he said awkwardly, placing the drink on the bedside table.
"Thanks" you said shyly.
You weren't exactly sure what the protocol was for the aftermath of sleeping with your arch nemesis, were you supposed to go back to fighting? Were you meant to cuddle? You figured a good place to start was a cigarette. You fished around in your nightstand and pulled out a packet of smokes and a lighter. The ashtray was already resting on top.
"Want one?" You offered casually.
"You keep cigarettes in your bedside table?" Adam asked, raising an eyebrow. He took one from you and sat next to you on the bed.
"You're just jealous you didn't think of it first" you teased, affectionately this time.
Adam took a long drag before he spoke.
"So..."
"So..."
"You wanna cuddle or...?" He avoided eye contact, feeling foolish for even asking.
"Or what? Or do I still hate you?" You smiled
"Yeah, or do you still hate me?" He laughed.
You snuggled up to him and planted a small kiss on his cheek.
"I think you're the worst" you joked, resting your head on his shoulder and draping your arm across his chest.
"Hate you too, babe" he chuckled, kissing the top of your head.

So, this is about the war boys polycule. How did they all get together? Was the reader with Tom first and then they were joined by Billy? Or the other way around? Or even Tom and Billy together first and then they invited the reader to join? I would love to see what their first time together was like, if you’re up for writing it.
This came out longer than it was supposed to be nonnie, I'm sorry (?)
Warnings: jealousy, kissing, fingering, oral (f receiving), p in v sex, a bit of chocking, overstimulation. A/N: reader is AFAB and is nondescript (Tom only calls them "good girl" once, they/them pronouns used if needed.
NSFW and 18+ only please!
They find you at the pub, morose and drunk as you mull over your memories with Billy. You are too far gone to truly hear Billy's worried remarks and it's up to Tom to lift you up and carry you bridal style to your small flat.
You never meant to put a wench in their friendship, never meant to be that person, you never thought Tom would be interested in you; he did flirt with you while you were interviewing him, but he did it with everyone at the military hospital and with half of the pub, the night the whole of London was celebrating the end of the war and you wanted to do some private celebration with sweet Billy. You never meant to hurt Tom and their disagreement around your budding relationship with Billy came as a nasty surprise that woke you up from your post war fantasies, and forced you to choose between being a good person or a selfish one.
You've seen too much death and destruction in your job as a reporter during the war to cause damages yourself: this was the only reason why you told them with tears in your voice
"I'm out. I'm not going to be the person that destroys your friendship."
To then leave, deaf to Billy calling your name and dodging Tom's hand that tried to grab your wrist.
You disappeared into the crowd and, hopefully, from their lives, hoping that the damages weren't so big that they couldn't be fixed.
Tom's warmth and tobacco scent envelops you, lulling you into a deep sleep, aided by your drunken state. You don't hear the sounds of the city around you, nor them discussing whether or not they should put you in bed dressed, only to decide to remove your shoes and roll you in all the blankets you own. You don't hear them settle in your small living room, nor feel the soft kiss Billy leaves on your temple: you're dead to the world and to the thought that you've lost your chance at happiness.
When you wake up, the morning after, you're hangover and confused: it's not the first time you get drunk, but you've never left your shoes tidily next to the door, not you had ever wrapped yourself in so many blankets. Then you hear movement from the living room and worry sparks in your belly: who is in your small flat with you?
Grabbing your shoe as a weapon you swing the bedroom door open, only to be welcomed by the sight of Tom attacking your secret stash of biscuits and Billy drinking tea with a straight back.
"I think I'm going to be sick."
You say, before dashing to the loo to throw up all the alcohol you've managed to drink yesterday.
In between retching you hear their voices from beyond the closed door and elect to ignore them. You still play deaf while you wash your face and brush your teeth: what the hell happened last night?
You receive your answer during breakfast, while munching on the almost burnt toasts Billy made for you, since Tom has finished all your biscuits!
"And why are you two still here?".
Billy's cheeks burn fire red and he almost loses the hold on your grandma's teacup, Tom stares at you as if ready to fight.
"Billy and I discussed our situation." He then says. "The situation being me destroying your friendship?" "No. Us two being both interested in you and you feeling the same." Tom concludes. "I have some very hot tea at hand." "And we have a proposal for you."
Billy's voice cuts through the tension between you and Tom.
"And what's that?"
You're walking back and forth like a caged beast, the unlikely duo staring at you.
"Are you two serious? Don't answer that!" You pace some more. "You two really think that is a good idea? All of us together?" "You want us love and we want you as well." Tom says.
He's right and you know it.
You've been with Billy, you've chosen him but are not immune to Tom's roguish charm, if you have to be absolutely sincere with yourself.
"I need to think about it and I need time."
Tom isn't too thrilled when you tell them that they need to go back to the military hospital still housing them, where their friendship started; Billy looks at you, concerned that the idea might offend you, when you simply need to be on your own to mull everything over.
The assignment in Scotland, to cover one of the prisoner camps for the enemy soldiers, comes as a relief: you need to focus on something else that's not you, Billy and Tom.
Not that you can leave your memories back in London, they pop up in your mind when you curl under the covers in the drafty pub room you're occupying: Billy's reddened face when you first french kissed him or how he looked like he was going to have a coronary when he first saw you naked, Tom's rakish smile and the way he would look at you, how much your heart was torn between the two friends.
Does it have to be that way, though? Is there a way for their idea to truly function?
You work, write your assignments and eat the terrible food of the pub with those questions playing in the background of your mind as you ask yourself if you have the courage to say yes: you've done so many dangerous things during the war, yet none had ever felt like starting such a strange chapter of your life.
The part of your brain that has been facepalming at your terrible decision making, since you decided to start a career in journalism, is screaming at how stupid you are, how crazy this is. You never cared before and as sure as hell you don't now that Billy is on his knees, blushing as he helps you out of your stockings and panties and Tom is opening your blouse to gently fondle your breasts as he kisses your neck.
The bed is somewhere behind you three but it doesn't matter, Tom is keeping you upright as Billy's tongue licks your folds slowly, with long sweeps from your hole to your clit that make your knees wobble. His tongue leisurely explores every inch of your cunt; the wetter you are, the easier it is for him to switch between vertical sweeps and round ones that have his mouth plastered against your cunt, until his lips find your clit and latch there with a moan that makes you keen.
Your body arches when Billy's fingers slip inside your hole slowly, you've taught him how to drive you absolutely mad, and you barely notice one of Tom's hands traveling down your body to grab Billy's hair to keep him close to your center, not when Billy's pads find that place that has you whine like a hurt animal the more he fucks against it.
You come with a scream and the pleasure doesn't stop: Tom is keeping Billy's face against your cunt and Billy is all too eager to keep tasting you, after all those days apart. His hands grab your hips when you try to squirm away as Tom's hand curls gently around your throat when you start begging and whining because the pleasure is too much, too intense, too much pressure ready to explode in your tummy and it doesn't stop when you come again and again, until your body falls against Tom, only then they lay you on the bed to finish peeling your clothes off.
You feel like your mind is floating, tired as you are you cuddle closer to Billy, who is laying next to you: you are so tired you're ready to sleep. With your eyes closed you snuggle in his clean scent and don't hear Tom moving towards you, one of his big hands gently cups your wet cunt and you moan, so oversensitive already.
"Shh, I need to prepare you." He says, his voice uncharacteristically devoid of his usual abrasive tone. "Tom please." You're not sure what you're begging for, more pleasure or mercy from them; you don't have time to truly think about it, Billy gently turns your head so that your foreheads can touch.
"Can we?" He asks, still as shy as he was the first time he slept with you. "Yes." You whisper back.
You're not sure your body can manage more pleasure but you're happy to try, for your sweet Billy, and for Tom as well.
Tom's long fingers slip inside of you, you're so wet it's so easy for him to start scissoring you with squelching sounds that would embarrass you, if you weren't too focused in kissing Billy as one of his hands cups your breast to gently massage it, in stark contrast with the way Tom is fucking against your poor G spot: fast and deep pushes that make your whole body tremble and your muscles curl brutally around him, pleasure burning through your body until you're certain you're going mad with it, instead it explodes inside of you and you whine in Billy's mouth as full body shakes ravage your body.
Tom turns you on your back, covering you fully, his weight carried by his bent arm next your head as the other hooks one of your useless legs on his shoulder, before breaching you slowly, careful of his size and of the desire burning in his loins from the second he's first seen you.
"Good girl." He drawls, his accent thick in your ear. "Such a good girl."
Like a mantra he says as he pushes inside of you, deeper and deeper, faster with every pass, until he bottoms out and you arch under him, your eyes crossing with a whine, your hand seeking Billy, as if he's your tether and he comes to you, to kiss you again as Tom grabs your hips to make sure he's still deep inside of you when he rears back, before pounding inside of you with abandon, your muscles so loose and wet it's easy for him to ravage you, your cunt the perfect fist around his cock, your body arching under him without your control, simply craving all the pleasure he's willing to give you, until you come with a shriek.
With a curse Tom turns you on your front and enters you again, his hands on your breasts as he supports you against his chest, his hips pistoning against you, your juices leaking obscenely down your tights. Billy's soft lips land on your abused clit to suck desperately, hungry for you again and you cry and beg, broken by your men, your body trembles, your hips try to squirm away from the dual onslaught of pleasure. But you have nowhere to go, you're trapped as pressure builds and builds inside of you and you come all over Billy's face and Tom's cock, your mind blank, body lax in their arms.
Your mind floats as they hug you tight, their lips kissing you everywhere they can and tether you back to shore, to them, to Billy's desperately hard cock nestled between the lips of your overused cunt. Tom's seed is still flowing out of your hole, marking your thighs and Billy's erection, not that any of you care, your body has never been so ready for Billy, the tiredness of your muscles notwithstanding.
"Please." You moan against him. "I love you." He murmurs against your lips, his cheeks aflame.
Billy is gentle when he enters you, slow pushes and pulls, mindful of how sore you are but he is relentless, his hips grinding against your clit, his lips around one pert nipple and he moans at the taste of your skin. You call his name and Tom's, ready to be the vessel of his pleasure, already drunk on yours that you don't expect Billy to cradle your tired body against himself, before he kneels on the bed, letting you sit on his erection, now so deep inside of you that you are sure you're not going to be able to walk for a week. Tom helps Billy wound your legs around his hips, so that he can rock inside of you with his face against your breasts and God help you, you can feel the pleasure spiraling again, and it's not only Tom's fingers making slow, circular motions on your clit, it's the closeness, it's the way Billy kisses your drenched skin as his cock massages your G spot continuously, riding the tendrils of the past orgasms still singing in your nerves.
"I can't, Billy...".
He needs to come, you can see in the way his face scrunches as he fights against the pleasure; you can't orgasm anymore, your body isn't capable to go again, but you don't care, as long as you can give him the pleasure he deserves.
"One last time, please." He begs, his face so earnest and open you can feel tears at the corners of your eyes. "Be good." The drawl of Tom's accent makes you shiver. "You have another one in you, for Billy." "No, no, Tom please." You whine, weak and lost. "No more." "Shh, I know you can." Tom growls, hungry for you. "I can't if you don't come with me, please." Billy begs with a desperate voice.
You make an animalistic sound at the back of your throat when Billy's hips rock faster and Tom's fingers push tighter on your abused clit; Billy's fingers grab your skin to push you closer to him as his cockhead bullies your G spot relentlessly and Tom's fingers slip on the squelching mess that's your center. With inarticulate sounds your body tries to escape their hold and they just keep you there, squashed between them, Billy's lips on your breasts leave marks he'll later kiss, Tom's teeth worry your neck as he pinches your clit cruelly, deaf to your whines of pleasurable pain, to how broken you sound when pleasure ebbs and ebbs and you crash in their hold, Billy following you with a long moan.
Billy's tears of pleasure mingle with yours as you three fall on the destroyed sheets; your skin almost hurt where it touches them, but you don't care, because you need this, need them as they do you.
This, this is the answer to the questions plaguing you in Scotland: simply loving one another, building something together instead of running away, giving you three a fighting chance, despite how uncommon their idea had been. And despite the voice in your head: it was wrong back when you started being a journalist and it is wrong now that your body is cradled by theirs. This is worth fighting for and God have mercy on whomever will ever try to separate you three.

twice now at the beach I've cornered professionals working there to yell at them about marine animals and the ocean and find out more about what lives there so here's what happened both times.
The first was at Assateague, one of my favorite places in Maryland, I highly recommend going there if you are ever in the area. It's part of a long barrier island and you get both bay/marshes & ocean beaches and both are full of amazing wildlife.
On the way in/out of the beach there was a little "nature corner" booth with a guy with stuff like egg casings, replica seal skulls, seal skin, etc. Of course I quizzed him on every single thing on the table and started asking more questions (you get seals here? what time of year? how far north do they go? what about whales?) which led to my favorite thing of all which is animal people telling me about their favorite animal and his is whelks:
Whelks have two ways of killing their prey, which is usually bivalves. One is to get the edge of their shells between the seal of their shells and pry them open and suck them out.
The other is to clamp down on top of them and release a mucus that drills down through the shell of the bivalve and dissolves it and suck them out that way.
Me, absolutely delighted: "wow it's a bad day for that bivalve" Him: "oh yeah it's all over for them"
He also had a fish that looked like a pufferfish but wasn't quite, though it was related to them, which got me started talking about the love of my life boxfish. I mentioned I'm really annoying in aquariums and he said "Yeah just going up to random people and telling them all about the fish they're looking at..."
Me: "Actually YEAH I just got back from London where they had a boxfish and I was staring at it for a really long time so when this couple came up and I told them all about it..." (true story I had never seen one in person before!! and I was staring at this random tiny yellow fish and felt I needed to explain myself and also couldn't help it) Him: "That's gonna be me with whelks someday." Me: "Well I loved it!!! I love learning stuff like this, thank you."
We also saw a couple probably-dead horseshoe crabs and a definitely-dead ray in Ocean City (that we pushed back into the water after some random family started picking them up and posing for photos with them; guys nature is not a toy, respect it and don't fucking play with dead animals, what the hell). And in "there's something wrong with me" news, some girl told me she saw a fin while we were swimming and she thought it was a shark and I was horribly disappointed when it turned out to be dolphins. But we saw dolphins!
A guy caught a fish right as I walked past his line in Assateague, which was not as cool as the time someone caught a shark there when I was a kid, or the ray someone else caught before I got there, but it was really exciting and he called me his good luck charm.
So that was Assateague. I love it there. There are also wild horses, btw, and we saw a couple of those as well! I've been so many times that I'm pretty immune to them by now but I hopefully got some good pics.
Anyway THIS weekend I decided it was high time I went to the Rockaways and oh man. New favorite New York beach. I almost got pinched by a crab! I felt its claw close around my toe and yanked my foot away in time but I honestly got so excited. ... I know, I'm broken inside. But it's really because to me that says it's a healthy/clean area.
...And because it gave me an excuse to pump the lifeguard for information about the wildlife on that beach, which I immediately did. He confirmed that crabs do live there and if they really get you it hurts like a motherfucker. But mostly I wanted to know if there are ever whales there because I know they do come into the East River, and apparently they do not but tons of dolphins do in the early morning. They get some sharks but not a lot (boo) but have had Great Whites and sea turtles wash up nearby, which is sad but you have to hope they died of natural causes :(. I learned at the NY aquarium that actually there is a TON of wildlife that lives/migrates just a few miles off the coast of New York City; it's actually crazy that maybe two or three miles out there are sea turtles and whales and sharks. He confirmed hearing that and I'm like yo I learned that at the aquarium you should go.
Mostly I learned that lifeguards are extremely bored on duty, I kept being like oh I probably shouldn't bother this dude and he kept talking, it was great.
Anyway I know I just talked a lot about basically nothing but it's exciting to me. Since I don't have to live close to the office (where I lived for 10 years, I’ve been in NYC for 11 years, for reference/anyone new) anymore I am seriously considering a move to be closer to the city's beaches and to live somewhere where I can have an outdoor area and possibly a small back garden so part of this is scouting out what I want to be closest to when I finally save up to move. I think the Rockaways is the beach I want the easiest access to. I never even considered the possiblity of growing outdoor plants in this part of my life so when I think about it it's a little hard to imagine but also feels so good and right. I adore my apartment and my neighborhood but it's been 10 years and it's time to think about what I want for the next 10 years; and when I visualize it, it's a little house with a garden close to a beach and some new parks.
So there you go. That's a life and weird fish update for you, all in one.

part one | oblivion
oblivion [noun. the state of being unaware or unconscious of what is happening around one]
pairing: kamo noritoshi/f!reader
summary: your relationship with noritoshi was like a game of cat and mouse; no matter how hard you tried to escape from him, he would always find his way back to you.
wordcount: 3.9k
content/warnings: friends to enemies to lovers, language, noritoshi is kind of a dick but i promise it gets better so please don’t lose faith in him, we’re not strictly following the manga timeline bc while i am reading it, i do have a goldfish brain, lowercase intended
a/n: hello, here’s the first installment of my sanguine series! it’s the prequel of this drabble (nsfw) i wrote the other week while i was working on the outline of the fic. it’s a little slow burn because i wanted to spend some more time exploring their relationship and the groundwork for it, so yeah. i’ll try to update it regularly, but since i’ve only planned five parts for sanguine, it might take a while bc i want to take my time with it. if you want to stay updated with the series, i’ll post the masterlist to it shortly! i do hope you enjoy it though :) and stay safe, everybody! [tagging @sukirichi the sukuna to my yuuji, who just gets spammed when i start rambling about my aus but always screams with me (´• ω •`)]
masterlist - next
"y/n!" you look up to see miwa storming towards you, thrusting a book in your direction. "could you- could you please give this to noritoshi? i borrowed this book from him like a week ago and if i don't return this anytime soon, i think he's gonna kill me."
scowling at her, you look at the book in disdain. you wanted to avoid crossing paths with noritoshi as much as possible and miwa was well aware that you didn't like hi-
"please," miwa pleaded again, taking your hands and placing the book in it. "i'm really scared of him. he always looks like he's going to shoot me soon. even todo is pretty nice if you don't interrupt his takada-chan time!"
you sighed in annoyance, you just couldn't say no. ever since coming to the kyoto metropolitan curse tech, miwa and you had been pretty close because you strongly disliked the other students. most of them were arrogant and stuck-up, thinking they were better than the other; the two that belonged to the three clans were even worse. on your first day here you'd promptly gotten into a fight with mai, disliking how haughty she was and trying to prove everyone that she was better than them. much to your chagrin, the fight ended in a tie.
"fine, but you owe me some mango," miwa's face lit up in relief and she gave you a thumbs up before dashing to her room, most likely to escape noritoshi's wrath. you inspected the book. was it even worth returning it? maybe you could just throw it in the trash. if noritoshi ever found out, he'd kill miwa first and then you. you let out another sigh before making your way towards the training grounds. he most likely was outside to practice, either with one of the guys or alone. as you were nearing the training grounds, you could already hear the sound of arrows whistling and the dull thuds of them hitting the target. it was hard to spot him through all the trees; you weren't entirely sure where he was. your ears perked up when you heard him release another arrow until you realized that it was heading your way. this bastard. fortunately, you were able to slash the arrow clean in the middle, angrily pointing your sword in his direction. you still couldn't see him anywhere.
"you fucking idiot! you could've killed me," you snarled, stomping deeper into the forest. an amused laugh echoed through the trees.
"you're acting like i can't control my arrows. it's not my fault you let your guard down," noritoshi retorted smugly, lowering his bow as he saw you approaching. you were fuming, hurling the book at him. how dare he? you watched with satisfaction as it hit him square in the chest - who was caught off guard now, huh? he deserved it anyways.
"miwa asked me to return your book," you curtly explained and turned back around to leave but apparently, noritoshi had other plans. instead of saying anything else, he just followed you which unsettled you even more.
"stop following me."
"who said i was following you? i'm just going back to the dorms. i'm sorry you can't handle me being near you."
you whirled around, sword pointing dangerously close to his neck. he smirked at you triumphantly, it was just too easy to get a rouse out of you. "another word and i'll cut you, seriously. you're pissing me off," you gritted your teeth, hating that you always fell for his stupid games. he knew you all to well, what made you angry, what made you happy, what motivated you. once upon a time, you'd thought the same about him; until he changed so rapidly, so unlike your expectations. you were worlds apart and yet you'd reserved an ounce of hope that he wouldn't turn out to be as arrogant as the clan heads. swift as the wind, noritoshi grabbed your wrist, dragging it upwards and towards him until he could lean down to you. your heartbeat sped up - holy shit why was he so close to you - and you froze in shock.
"i'd like to see you try, princess," he whispered in your ear, the grip on your wrist tightening. "you wouldn't dare to."
the first time you met noritoshi, he was sitting outside in the garden with his mum. both seemed to have a good time. noritoshi's hair was tousled from the soft summer breeze and he had a soft smile on his face, happily munching away on the snacks that were displayed on the table. while he looked friendly enough, you were wary of meeting and talking to him because you felt kind of queasy around the kamo family. you couldn’t quite place a finger on the feeling, the older members of the family intimidating you to no end. much to your dismay, you felt like you had to be watchful - your parents worked for the kamo family, so naturally the apartment you lived in was close to the estate. you avoided any run ins with the adults, they weren’t exactly friendly to you. noritoshi’s mum had befriended your mum and they spent a lot of time together when possible. and yet you’d never met noritoshi before, seeing how busy he was with his various classes.
the fit that you threw, not wanting to tag along with your mum, was long forgotten when you’d spotted the jar of cookies on the table. before your mum could react, you pulled your hand away from hers and quickly ran towards it. “hello miss!” you greeted enthusiastically, your eyes shining at the sight of the sweets. “my name is y/n! i’m here with my mum and i uhm… could i have some of the cookies? please?” when your mum finally caught up to you, she scolded you quietly and greeted the other two, taking a seat beside noritoshi’s mum. you pouted, immediately climbing on her lap as you refused to sit next to the boy. his mum handed you a cookie which you happily took and thanked her politely. noritoshi was curiously eyeing you; it wasn’t often that he saw other children around his age and he didn’t have any friends to play with. his everyday life revolved around reading books, studying, taking archery classes and sometimes spending time with his mum. noritoshi barely even knew what fun was - he’d only ever felt at peace when he was around his mum.
“y/n, sweetie, why don’t you go and play with noritoshi?” your mum prompted but you immediately shook your head, hiding your face in her chest. she simply laughed and shook her head, brushing your hair back softly. “come on, noritoshi is really nice. you can be his friend one day, right? didn’t i tell you that friends are important?”
you frowned. then huffed. when she worded it like this, there was no way you could refuse. the cartoon that you religiously watched featured a group of friends that went on adventures and helped each other out. you’d told your mum that you wanted to be like that too! begrudgingly, you slid off her lap and trudged towards noritoshi who looked at you with big eyes. you held your hand out, waiting for him to shake it. “my name is y/n. uhm… nice to meet you,” you shyly whispered, eyes darting away from him.
it took a while until noritoshi reacted, shaking your hand gently and answering: “hello y/n, i’m noritoshi.”
much to your surprise, noritoshi was actually fun to be around with. he showed you his collection of books, the bow that he was practicing with and you often played the card game you’d received for your birthday together. he was smart and witty, often explaining you things that he’d read in a book but he was also attentive when he listened to you ramble about the other kids in school or when you told him about the cartoon that you were watching. for you, noritoshi was becoming your best friend - for noritoshi, you were his first friend. he cherished you and how unabashedly true to yourself you were. spending time with you was something he looked forward to; you always made him laugh and you didn’t care whether he lived up to the kamo family name or not. to you, he was simply noritoshi. you were like a fresh breeze of air in his life.
noritoshi didn't quite understand why the elders were always so hard on him, so strict and unrelenting. they expected only the best results from him and didn't show any understanding when he exhausted. he didn't enjoy practice anymore, the lessons becoming a chore and burden on his mind. but whenever he saw your face light up at his newly acquired skills, he thought it was worth the trouble. you came to visit him everyday after school, never skipping a day. sometimes he questioned why you weren't visiting your friends from school but you shook your head, poking his chest indignantly. "you're my best friend, 'toshi. of course i'd want to spend more time with you." noritoshi was glad you always chose him, without fail.
even though your parents had always warned you to be careful around noritoshi because his family was strict and didn't like outside influences distracting the heir, you never really strayed from his side. noritoshi didn't have any other friends, who would keep him company or listen to his troubles then? you didn't understand why your parents were suddenly going back on their word. they'd always told you that family and friends were important. you couldn't pinpoint your feelings for him - but your parents saw it. it was obvious; the stars in your eyes when you looked at him, the slight blush on your cheeks when he complimented you and how happy you were when you got to spend time with him. the more time you spent with him, the more they were worried for you.
"'toshi!" you yelled in excitement as you ran towards him, waving wildly. he dropped his bow and turned to you, a soft smile gracing his lips as he opened his arms to hug you. you squeezed him tightly. two weeks you hadn't seen him due to a school trip after which you got sick and weren't able to leave the house. you'd missed him a lot and you were excited to show him the souvenirs you brought him.
"look, i bought you an omamori!" you handed him the small object, then pointing on your bag to show him the one you'd bought for yourself. "i got myself a matching one too! my teacher said it wards off evil spirits and brings you luck." noritoshi's smile was bright, so bright. he was happy you thought of him and were always kind to him. your eyes widened as he leaned in to kiss your cheek before thanking you. the two of you were blushing, neither saying a word but not minding what had just happened.
the day noritoshi's mother left the estate was the day you were slowly starting to lose him. noritoshi grew more forlorn and didn't seem to easily find joy in anything anymore. the departure left a deep, deep gap in his heart. it had shocked him deep to the core when she left him. him. why couldn't she stay? why did she leave him when she was the only person who protected him, loved him? she did say that she was hindering his growth but who was she to decide that? he didn't want to become stronger, didn't want to protect other people like she'd told him to. he wanted to stay with her. "'toshi? 'toshi!" a concerned voice broke through his trance, pulling him back into reality. "i asked you a question! you weren't even listening to me."
you were pouting at him, tugging at his sleeve impatiently. noritoshi apologized, patting your head to soothe your temper. "what do you want to do in the future? mum said it's important to work towards your dreams!" you asked him curiously, grasping his hand to hold it. the gesture filled him with indescribable warmth, drawing him in like a moth to the flames. "my mum said i have a special power, i can heal people! i want to become a doctor in the future, so i can help everyone that got hurt," you explained to him so earnestly that he felt bad for the lie he was about to tell. noritoshi didn't have big dreams or ambitions just yet. he didn't even know what would be suitable to him - he was strictly following orders, never allowed to think for himself.
but when he looked at you, he only had one wish. "i think… i think i want to help people, protect them. especially those that i love."
with each year passing, you noticed that noritoshi was putting more and more distance between the two of you. at first you'd brushed it off as the stress of his training and number of classes he was attending. but as you spent less and less time together, the weight of the situation didn’t escape you. he was easily irritable, cold and arrogant, often rude towards employees of the kamo estate. every now and then when you’d scold him for being an asshole, he’d simply scoff at you and haughtily ask you how it was any of your business. you sighed, tossing and turning in your bed as you thought about how much noritoshi had changed. it kept you up at night, just thinking about how he wasn’t your ‘toshi anymore. you didn’t know this person. ‘toshi was always gentle and kind, he tended to overthink many things and sometimes he was a little bit of a crybaby but you still loved him regardless. you sneaked out of your room, finally mustering up enough courage to ask your mother for advice. the thought of her discovering your blooming crush on noritoshi was scaring you. your parents were wary around the kamos despite working from them - even more so ever since noritoshi’s mother left and the elders had free reign over her son.
“noritoshi! noritoshi, stop walking away from me! hey, i’m talking to you!” you yelled frustrated as you were trying to keep up with him. noritoshi was crossing the garden in long strides, it was nearly impossible to stop him as you couldn’t catch up to him. you lunged forward, getting hold of his sleeve and tugged him back harshly. noritoshi yanked his arm out of your grip, glaring at you annoyed.
“what do you want from me? i have better things to do than to quibble with you,” he hissed irritated. you couldn’t believe him, he had the nerve to dismiss you like this when he was in the wrong?
“you know exactly what i want from you! you can’t just go around and talk to people like you did before just because they’re not from a reputable family! noritoshi, you’re not any better than them just because your last name is kamo.”
as much as noritoshi scared you, you stood your ground. you knew he didn’t take you serious, not with the amused look he gave you. in the past month or two, noritoshi was suddenly hit by a growth spurt - you barely reached his shoulder now and he took advantage of that to mock you, often treating you like an armrest. he pat your head condescendingly, pouting at you in fake regret. “aw, did i hurt your feelings? did i make itty bitty little y/n sad?” he mocked you, before abruptly grabbing your cheeks to make you look at him. “i don’t care what you think of me, cry all you want. i strongly suggest you hold that sharp tongue of yours if you know what’s good. know your place.”
tears filled your eyes; noritoshi had never talked to you this way. what has gotten into him? your heart broke in pieces, unable to take the pain any longer. you were no longer his equal but below him, much like everyone else.
“mum?” you cautiously knocked at the door of her study, waiting for her response. your mother was most likely still awake and dealing with paperwork like she usually did. upon hearing the affirmative noise she made, you flitted inside, closing the door behind you so your father didn’t catch any wind of this. it was already embarrassing enough and you were sure your mother could offer you better advice. you gingerly took a seat on the armchair, grabbing a pillow and hugging it close to your body. how were you going to approach this? hey mum, i have a crush on noritoshi and he’s weird to me now and i don’t know why? uh yeah mum, i caught feelings for the guy you warned me about and now i look like a fool crawling up to you like this?
“it’s about noritoshi, isn’t it?” your mother interrupted your stream of thought, spinning her swivel chair towards you.
“huh? oh no it isn’t, why would it be? i have-”
“y/n.”
“ugh okay fine, maybe it is about him,” you sighed defeated, of course she would look right through you. she always seemed to know what you were thinking, even when you hadn’t confided in her before. “but promise me you won’t judge me!” the look in your mother’s eyes told you that she was going to judge you regardless but you knew she meant well - she simply wanted the best for you.
“i- i just don’t understand why he’s been such a pain in the ass lately. and he’s been treating everyone like dirt too, including me! mum, he’s becoming someone else and i… i don’t know what to do,” you sniffled inconsolably, wiping at your eyes with the sleeves of your sweater. she wasn’t supposed to see you getting emotional. “he’s always busy and when we do get to see each other, he doesn’t want to spend time with me. what if he doesn’t like me anymore? and i don’t like how he’s treating you! it’s the same issue with the elders, they don’t know any human decency at all!”
your mother motioned you to scoot over a little and sat next to you, wrapping her arms around you and patting your back to console you. while she meant well, it accomplished the opposite - you broke down in tears, unable to stop your sobs. “i just want my ‘toshi back,” you whimpered upset, burying your face in the pillow to muffle the sound of you crying. “i know you didn’t like that i became good friends with him but i couldn’t help it and i just really like him and- you weren’t supposed to find that out.”
“sweetheart, i know you love noritoshi,” she handed you a tissue. “you let a lot more on than you were aware of; dad and me always knew you were in love with him.” as if on cue, your sobbing stopped and you just looked at her in disbelief. she knew. she knew. you wanted the earth to swallow you whole. “i think it was always pretty obvious, to be honest. you always looked at him as if he was your entire world and no matter what happened, you were always by his side. i know it’s hard to accept when a dear friend is changing but sometimes you just have to, right? both of you are still growing, there’s no way of telling how your personalities change.”
“but i don’t want him to change like this,” you protested stubbornly, glaring at her. she was talking about it as if it was a matter of simply discarding a bad apple in the trash. it wasn’t easy and it made you anxious. you grew up together, shared secrets and memories. he was the person you’d always looked up to.
“y/n.” your mother sounded stern but you didn’t back down, not yet. “is it really worth it? if a person is changing so rapidly and you’re not getting through to them, you’ll have to let it go. there’s only so much you can do. people grow apart sometimes, it’s only natural. you have to let go of them, temporarily, so you both can heal and grow. y/n, i know you’re being stubborn about this but you’ll have to let him figure things out on his own. fate has curious ways to bring people back together.”
when the time came, noritoshi left to attend the kyoto metropolitan curse tech school without telling you a word. you were disappointed, apparently you weren’t worth saying goodbye to. whatever his reason was, it must’ve been pretty important. important enough to forget the promise that you’d always stay in contact. you wondered whether he'd change again, for the better maybe? maybe you would reconcile when you could finally attend the school as well and train together. you were excited to show him your sword skills, having received your family's heirloom, an elegant steel blue sword. though your skills probably weren’t up to par with the other students, you still wanted to show them off, show him what you’d learned in the year that you spent apart.
noritoshi had changed but not for the better. holy shit, did he get on your nerves. the first time he'd practiced with you, you realized that he had mutated into an insufferable know-it-all. he would give you backhanded compliments or make snide remarks about your posture, how you were supposed to hold your sword, how inefficient your fighting style was. sometimes you wished you could just beat him for once and have him shut up. there was no denying though, noritoshi was way too strong and you had a long way to go. judging from the reactions of the others, barely anyone had beat him either.
and just like that, your feelings for him were buried. you’d taken your mother’s advice to heart, keeping conversations and interactions with him to a minimum but somehow noritoshi always found his way to you. he was everywhere and a quarrel was inevitable. noritoshi got under your skin and he knew how to push your buttons. why he chose to pick on you was beyond your comprehension; he didn’t pay much attention to the other students nor was he particularly liked by them. just how much was he going to get on everyone else’s nerves? out of all the second years, todo aoi was the most amicable; you had the (dis)pleasure to run into him on your first day and for some reason, he took a liking to you. while he was loud and boisterous, mostly doing whatever he wanted, you couldn’t deny that he was a good friend. even though he didn’t care about anyone as much as he cared about takada-chan. at one point, he’d looked at you in sympathy when he caught you staring at noritoshi, patting your shoulder (too forceful): “i’m sorry, y/n, i’m so sorry.”

01 ! please,xanny.
-
what was it? was it the alcohol? was it the food they ate earlier? maybe it was spoiled, or worse, maybe it has drugs? probably no.
maybe she's just overthinking things.
maybe she's just imagining all of this.
to say that she's inloveㅡ no, cross that out, to say that he's inlove is dangerous.
but how is it that the sanzu haruchiyo, bonten's number 2, is making her feel numerous things?
he reeked of instability, insanity.
yet his touch was as soft as the cotton, gentle like the wind, it was comforting.
say....
have you ever known what it felt like to drive on highways, with gnawing trepidation?
to taste betrayal and fondness while running on an endless tunnel of vague roads?
to be loved by none other than sanzu haruchiyo?
-
"welcome everyone, to our company's afterparty, please enjoy yourselves for tonight!" honey dripping voice echoed throughout the wide spaced room that is decorated with some dimmed and flashing lights, shimmering crystals plastered on the wall, extravagant leather couches, and large, black speakers booming with music. her soft, delicate hands then set the microphone down, as her wavy jet black hair bounced and swayed as she walked down the stairs with elegance.
"nakashima-san, the director wants to talk to you, he said to head towards the VIP area, over there." a small voice beside the stairs managed to squeak out, catching the girl's attention and turning her head to the direction he pointed at.
"did he told you the reason why he wanted to talk to me?" she asked, voice filled with a hint of irritation and tiredness - the complete opposite of how she sounded earlier on the stage. the boy shook his head, then uttered 'excuse me' before dashing away from his superior.
the girl then just sighed and walked towards the bar counter, which is the complete opposite of the direction she was told to go.
"one grey goose martini and a plain cranberry juice, please. thank you." she ordered as she sat down.
"wow, you're actually gonna drink tonight, kasumi? are your shits finally getting to you, girl?" the lady beside her stated with amusement as she popped out of nowhere, a glass of whiskey found in her hand, still laughing and smiling drunkenly.
"yes, kaoru. where the fuck were you? you were supposed to be the one to speak up front earlier to welcome the guests, not me, because i was the one who arranged this. and now boss said he wanted to talk to me about something." kasumi vented to her friend while her friend's grin just got wider, further infuriating her.
"whY THE HELL ARE YOU SMILING KAORU I-"
"calm the fuck down, kasumi, don't let boss get into your nerves, okay? its just me, so inhale, exhale. nice! see, just go drink your shits and talk to boss later. maybe hand in your resignation slip, you know?" kaoru laughed while wiggling her eyebrows and hugging kasumi.
the two talked to each other for a while before kasumi bid her goodbye and stood up to head to the direction she was supposed to go to earlier.
her heels clacked on the expensive marbled flooring while her black silk dress hugged her curvaceous body, gently flowing while walking.
upon reaching her destination, there she saw her boss with at least 4 women whispering and flirting with him, one on his lap and 3 beside him, along side with his other friends and acquaintances. they both shared a glance momentarily as kasumi forcefully smiled to her boss.
"ah yes, everyone, excuse me for i have something to finish up with my personal assistant." her boss announced to all the people around him, making kasumi uncomfortable and embarrassed, by all the stares she accumulated and daggers she got from the women who was flirting earlier with her boss.
"let's go, darling." sentence uttered by her boss before they left the place with him grabbing her wrist, and oh heavenly archons how irritated kasumi was because of her boss' actions and words.
she was practically being dragged away the from the event area, their shoes resonating throughout the empty hallways that are connected to the parking lot when she asked him, "excuse me sir, but where are we going? i thought you said you wanted to talk to me?"
"hmmm, yes. that's right, don't worry, kasumi-chan, we're just going to talk while where on a late night drive, and it'll definitely enlighten you. now get in the car." he ordered with flirty yet stern voice but kasumi did not budge at all - she just stared in disbelief to her boss, anger bubbling up within her.
"kasumi, we both know that i don't like repeating myself, now do what i said, please."
"i'm sorry but i don't think i'll go with you since we can talk here. so just say what you need to say so i can get on with my life, thank you." she declared cheekily.
"i said get in the car, why are yo-" he blurted out with annoyance but was cut off when kasumi said, "seems to me like you don't have anything to say, well i have one, i'm resigning, kitamura-san, i'll hand the file tomorrow, so if you have any requests, tell them to your next assistant." then proceeds to walk away that made her boss snap.
rushing towards her with malice and anger, with his system being controlled by the alcohol he consumed earlier, he grabbed kasumi's hair making her stumble and lose her balance, while the towering man held her waist with his left arm and his right arm held her face forcefully, and whispered to her from behind, "that's what i hate about you, you're so fucking stubborn, you and your smart ass mouth, i hate it so fucking much makes me want to shove my dick down your throat to make you obey me, and cry you bitch."
kasumi had chills run down her spine when she heard her boss mutter those words to her, and when she felt him grinding on her from behind ㅡ the last string of patience she had snapped in half, all she can see was red.
she used all her strength to stomp on the man's foot making him clutch down because of pain inflicted by her stiletto, releasing his hands that grasped her smaller frame. her hands then moved swiftly with anger to slap the man before her, knees being lifted up to kick his crotch making him to finally crumple down on the floor, silently mumbling profanities under his breath containing hatred.
"the next time you pull that stunt with me, or with other girls, i'll make sure you won't have something called dick after that." she threatened, voice laced with venom as she tried to wipe the ruffles that ruined her expensive, dusk colored dress.
"don't think you'll get away with this, bitch." the man croaked out while standing up, eyes filled with animosity, but then falling on his knees once again when a sharp, solid whipping sound tore through his thighs, vermillion colored blood gushing out of the gaping hole that was shot, followed by his shrill, agonized wail.
"seems like you grew stronger these past few years, kasumi-chan." a familiar voice grinned, few meters away from her.
"haruchiyo." she whispered under her breath, astounded.
***
"kasumi? are you listening?" a soft feminine voice spoke out, breaking the deep trance the raven coloured hair girl was in - chasmic ebony eyes stared at the person next to her, embarrassment creeping up in her system, realizing that she hasn't paid any attention to the words and sentences that her friend was telling her.
"i'm sorry, kaoru. what were you saying again?" she apologized, tuning her attention towards her half eaten sandwich that she was munching earlier.
"i was asking you if you know that boy over there, 5 o'clock," kasumi whipped her head towards the direction her friend gave her, eyes landing on a somewhat familiar person - he had a medium length hair dyed with bleach blonde, eyes glimmering like precious blue zircon gem, long and beautiful eyelashes that highlighted his daring eyes and a noticeable black mask covering half of his face. he looked so serene among the vast crowd filled with bustling people.
"sanzu?" she asked turning her head to her friend who's eyes sparked with curiosity and underlying suspicions.
"how'd you know him?" the petite girl squinted her eyes to her friend, making kasumi roll her ebony orbs. "i just happen to know his name. after all, he's in a gang, right? toman, i think."
"i wasn't aware that you know about gangs, kasumi-chan. perhaps you like their leader, huh." her friend teased earning another eye roll from her brunette friend. "i'm just kidding. its just that i haven't saw him without his mask. some people say he has nasty scar on both side of his mouth, and i don't know if its legit, but given the fact that he wears that mask, its probably true." kaoru shrugged and stood up to head to their class.
sanzu haruchiyo. he was definitely mysterious, kasumi mused, as she walked. he was quiet and he had a calm demeanor when he talks. they weren't close but they shared a small talk in the past, and usually its just about school, like each of their classes borrowing and returning some school supplies and other little things. she never even heard him speak more than 7 words. well, it wasn't a big deal, since she thinks that he's just an another person on this world who has probably their own shits to deal with. he was insignificant to her as she was to him. or so she thought.
their room was filled with silent mumblings, a heavenly boring stupor that kasumi tried to fight, heavily lidded eyes blinking slowly in the hopes of trying to understand their lesson - she was tired and sleepy and it was not long until their class ended, her mind being awakened once again like a newborn baby, because she's going home.
their house reeked of alcohol and despair, of cigarettes and sorrow - it was a hopeless sight. everything was a mess. kasumi then heard a faint coughing on their kitchen and there she saw her ill mother who's trying to wash the dishes with her frail arms, her thin and small frame found her daughter who rushed to her side to help her do the chores but then just told her to sit down and rest.
"mama, you're not supposed to be doing that. you're the one here who needs to rest, i can handle that. besides, where's papa?"
"he's out, i think. but don't worry, kasumi i'm almost finished. we can then eat dinner afterwards so you can talk to me about what happened today with you? you don't have work tonight, right sweetheart?" her mother's voice was definitely her haven, it was warm and sweet. "yes, sure." the girl replied, already at ease but then her phone chimed loudly, signaling that someone texted her - it was her co-worker that texted her he can't attend his shift, and was asking kasumi to be the one to replace him for the mean time.
what are the fucking odds.
her mother noticed the younger's change of emotion and asked, "who was it, sweetheart?" and it pained kasumi to leave her mother alone again but she needs to work. she needs the money. "i need to go, i actually have work since im covering for my co-worker's shift. i'll be right back, so make sure you eat your dinner. i love you." she kissed her mother on her forehead before she left.
***
"thank you, come again!" the girl chimed in, weariness evident in her voice. it was 2:30am and god knows how tired she was. this was supposed to be her day off but the universe just straight up said no.
"nakashima-san, i'm so sorry, you can now go, i'll take it from here on. please take this on your way home as a compensation for what you did to me. thank you! take care on your way home." her co-worker apologized, shyly smiling and blush evident on his cheeks as he handed her a plastic bag filled with some foods and snacks.
kasumi uttered her thanks, with a small smile as she went to change her clothes to go home already as all she wants to do right now was sleep and rest.
upon reaching the store's parking area for bicycles, she noticed that one its tires was flat. she sighed loudly, venting out her exasperation and frustration.
"well, guess i'll walk then. fuckkkkkk. this isn't my day huh." she groaned, muttering some profanities before going on her way home.
it was a chilly night, the breeze was crisp and wintry, with her trembling breath rising up forming a ghostly smoke, vanishing into thin air as she exhales. her whole body was quivering because her cardigan was too thin for this type of weather. kasumi hugged herself in hopes of warming herself up. the skies were tainted with midnight blue perfectly combined with the pitch black heavens decorated with gleaming constellations and stars, along with the dimly hanged moon.
her way home usually takes around 30-40 minutes with her bike, and around an hour and a half if one decides to walk. it was a peaceful and cold night not until she passed this one dark alleyway where there were 2 men laughing their asses off, and another one drinking away his life. kasumi paid no attention to the men and just picked up her walking pace to quickly get out of the picture when her left arm was sharply snatched by one of the men in the dark alleyway.
"hey pretty, wanna have fun with us?" the man grinned like a maniac, his yellow teeth visible and his breath smelled like rum and hostility combined together. the other men laughed like crazy while the last one ogled at kasumi's body.
"no, let me go you ugly bastards." kasumi snapped, snatching her hand away from the man, before turning away to run. she wasn't dumb to not pick up what in fuck was happening back there, so she tried to regain her composure by trying to find her phone to dial the number of her friend who's probably still awake by now to call for help when her hair was maliciously dragged backwards making her lose her balance only to fall on the ground and be dragged away. the plastic bag she was carrying along with her phone was now nowhere to be found.
only her hoarse cry for help was audible, she was too slow, too tired, too exhausted for all of the things happening to her - but her body was flailing so hard, trying to release herself from the man's tight grasp on her hair and it felt like its going to be ripped off her head anytime soon when they stopped on the same alleyway the men were previously drinking. "bitch thought she can get away with us, well let me tell you something sweetheart, we don't take no as an answer. plus you were wearing that thin-ass blouse, you're trying to seduce us after all so let's have fun shall we?" the bald headed man smirked while he held kasumi down on the ground.
she was terrified, frustrated, and she's doing her best to try and fight them all away. she was able to slap and kick the two of them, desperation was highly evident as she frantically scramble to her feet but that was as far as she can go for she was violently punched and slapped before she fell down with her vision getting hazy, tears streaming down her face non-stop as she lost all her energy to fight. everything was becoming blurry and she was now just hoping for everything to just end.
she was so lost in her train of thought that she didn't even realize that the men who were trying to break and ruin her were now out cold, laying on the freezing ground while a man towered over them.
"stand up." was all kasumi heard when she snap back to reality and saw a figure standing before her, wearing an all black outfit - black jacket, black jeans, and a black mask. his straight bleach colored hair was neatly tied up in a ponytail too.
"stand up." sanzu repeated as kasumi tried to stand up, still shaken by what happened to her and the picture of the scene before her. kasumi then felt something drape over her shoulder when sanzu came near her, his mint and delicate masculine scent filling her senses.
"follow me." was all the boy said before he exited the alleyway leaving her all alone with his jacket that he gave her. following his footsteps, while tightly clutching his jacket, she saw a shiny, and expensive looking car few meters out the alleyway with sanzu standing near it, and as she got closer to him, she heard him say, "get in."
not wanting and not having enough energy to fight nor say anything, kasumi just silently obliged to what he said. after getting inside the vehicle, sanzu followed afterwards, turning on the car and driving to god knows where - kasumi was drained, and she couldn't care less what would happen anymore although she wanted to say and atleast utter her gratitude towards the boy beside her, but her voice just seems to be gone. the car ride with him was silent, but it wasn't awkward. it wasn't uncomfortable. it wasn't scary either, rather, it was surprisingly comforting.
moments later, kasumi saw a familiar house outside her window when sanzu pulled up and opened the door for her, handing her some of the things she brought earlier - her bag and her phone.
he didn't talk, he didn't say anything before heading out and going inside his car once again, and driving away.
kasumi was dumbfounded.
she have so many questions whirling over her head like, how did he know my place? why did he do that?
she entered their house with her head aching - cross that out, with her whole body aching, everything that happened to her this day had taken a toll on her. she was definitely traumatized and shaken by what happened. with her literally dragging her body towards her room desperate to rest and lay down on the soft and smooth mattress.
and even though she was almost raped, and potentially murdered, the one thing that stuck in her head was sanzu. sanzu haruchiyo.
and she swore to find him tomorrow before she fell into a deep slumber.

OK I’M HERE! I READ IT! I’M LATE BUT IT DID IT! SERIOUSLY REGRETTING NOT READING IT EARLIER! FUCK SLEEP WHO NEEDS SLEEP!
I LOVE THE TWINS SO MUCH SHCDUJUHKFDUISVFDHYDEBCSJ
LEXI TELLING EVERYONE THAT SHE CAN TALK TO RAZIEL BESTIE YOU DOING GREAT!!!
“Lying is wrong!” Selena had told her sister.
“Yes, but cookies are delicious,” Lexi had pointed out, munching on them.
“Daddy!” Selena had said. “Tell her it’s wrong.”
“Lying is wrong!” Daddy had said, but she had barely heard a word since his mouth had been stuffed with cookies too.
LYING IS OKAY IF YOU GET COOKIES
She did not care much for jewellery, especially expensive ones. But Magnus had given this to her – and she didn’t want to take it off.
She combed her long hair and tied it into a high ponytail. If she was going shopping with Magnus, she had to look her best.
It was fine. There were worse ways to spend your tenth birthday. She got to spend it with Magnus. She was not going to complain about it.
AWWW SHE’S LITERALLY MAGNUS’ NO.1 FAN UHSDUCSDUYSDCFUYKSVCD
“Oh!” Selena had beamed. “Like Magnus! He always looks so magnificent!”
“Sure,” David had said, his ears pink in the cold. “That’s who I was thinking about.”
I don’t know much but I do know that his ears were not pink because of the cold and he was not thinking about Magnus.
Selena remembered wishing she caught the fever so Magnus could take care of her too.
Same- I MEAN WOULDN’T WE ALL??
ALSO, MAX STAYING WITH DAVID WHEN HE WAS SICK DWHYDYGUFEYUKGFYEUGFEWUYG
Oh, Jocelyn died.
Rip I guess?
OOOO THEY INVITED THE COHORT TO TALK ABOUT THIS STUFF BECAUSE SHADOWHUNTERS ARE DYING OF MUNDANE ILLNESSES
I say we kill them.
Selena had never felt anger like that before. She had wanted to drown that awful man in the lake she floated around in her dreams.
BESTIE SAME
“Lettuce?”
“Yes?”
“No screaming when I show you the gift,” Daddy said. “We have visitors at the institute.”
“Is it a sword?” Lexi asked.
“No,” Daddy replied.
“Then I won’t scream,” her twin shrugged at him.
AHUEDCHGUHFEWUIFUIRUI SHE’S SUCH A HERONDALE I LOVE-
PUPPY OH MY GOD IT’S A PUPPY!!!!!!!!
“IT’S A PUPPY! IT’S A PUPPY! OH MY GOD, IT’S A PUPPY! DAVID GOT US A PUPPY!”
Her twin had jumped – no, leaped – off the counter and dashed towards their father, who was holding a small grey puppy in his arms.
“I AM SO SORRY I TOLD YOU I DON’T WANT YOU, LITTLE FRIEND. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. I WILL PROTECT YOU WITH MY TWENTY TOY SWORDS!”
“Lexi, stop screaming!” Mommy said. “You will wake everyone up.”
“EVERYONE WAKE UP AND COME MEET MY PUPPY!” Lexi screamed even louder.
I LOVE HER SO MUCH DHJBSDCHJBFSJSFEDSF
She drew the unlock rune on the door the way her daddy did on his office door and sneaked into the Consul’s office.
I’m not even surprised anymore-
AWW, SELENA GOING THERE TO LOOK AT THE MURAL OF IDRIS. YOU’LL GO THERE ONE DAY BESTIE I PROMISE
ANJALI IS HERE Y’ALL!!!!!!!
Anjali walked over to her father’s desk, sat down on the chair, and put her feet on the table.
The Inquisitor’s table.
Only she could get away with something like that.
THERE’S MY FAVORITE PERSON EVER Y’ALL
EVEN ALEC IS WARY OF HER UHJSDVCUHSVDUUHSVUHSUIVGRVSR
Selena loved Idris with all her heart. But she knew Idris was not a perfect place.
Any place that was mean to Magnus could never be perfect.
EXACTLY
“Well, it turned out well for me,” Anjali winked. “Now when he gives me shit for my ‘bad judgement’ I just throw his dating history in his face. Dated Zara Dearborn? Broke up with Cristina Rosales? Yikes. Could not be me.”
BESTIE YES! HOW CAN DIEGO JUDGE PEOPLE’S JUDGEMENT WHEN HIS DATING HISTORY LOOKS LIKE THAT???
“Just because he looks like a movie star, it doesn’t mean everything should be handed to him,” Anjali answered, rolling her eyes. “Entitled piece of shit.”
You know I kinda ship them-
“Dang, girl. No practice swords for you, huh. You just straight up went for the mortal sword. I like your style.”
“Uncle Kit!” Selena yelled and ran towards him.
KIT KIT KIT KIT KIT KIT KIT KIT HISDUIDEUYKFSFUS7IKKIYGVFSDLY7TKGVFEDYTGFECYGU
ASH OMG ASH IS HERE TOO!!!!
"some man called Anus" BYE-
PARABATAI KIT AND ASH OMG
The whole pre-meeting prep is kinda giving me pre-wedding vibes idk how to explain but the whole rush and organizing that day and making calls and stuff.
“Ash was very beautiful. After Magnus of course” “She liked Aunt Izzy best. After Magnus of course,” GIRL HAS HER PRIORITIES STRAIGHT
"How bad can the cohort be?" well you see-
“Is that the cohort?” Selena asked, her voice a whisper.
“No, that’s a bitch.”
Yup. that’s accurate
“Is he here?”
“Whom?” Daddy asked.
“Alec Lightwood,” the woman asked.
“You mean the Consul?” Daddy asked.
“I meant Alec.”
“The Consul?”
“Alec!”
“Who also happens to be the Consul?”
“Fine, yes, the Consul!” the woman sounded impatient. “Is he here yet?”
It’s Lightwood-Bane bitch
AWWW SELENA DESCRIBING ALEC AS REGAL THAT’S SO CUTE
And accurate-
IT’S THE SAME BLUE AGAIN
Selena noticed her father was looking very emotional. She couldn’t blame him.
“My liege,” Daddy bowed deeply.
“Cut it out,” the Consul smacked him. “What’s the status?”
Yup, that’s them. Also same Jace.Same.
“I always expected the offspring of these two to be like…”
“Like what?” Daddy demanded.
At that moment, Lexi ran past the hall, yelling and screaming as she carried a toy sword in one hand and Dorian Gray in another.
“MAKE WAY FOR ALEXANDRA THE GREAT AND HER LOYAL COMPANION DORIAN GRAY! CHRISTOPHER! BRING ME MY OTHER NINETEEN SWORDS! WE MUST SET FIRE TO THE EVIL EMPEROR AND SAVE THE PRINCESS!”
“Like that,” Magnus chuckled.
Will in the afterlife, wiping tears: A true Herondale.
“I hope so too, Magnus,” Selena said shyly.
The Consul frowned at that. “It’s Uncle Magnus to you.”
Selena ignored that. The Consul was not the boss of her.
Well, technically he was the boss of everyone. But still!
UHNJCSDUHUSDHSVUDVUD SELENA
Do not remind me. I would like to remain blissfully unaware that not all of them are mortal :D
The Consul grumbled and turned to Mommy. “You were right to name her Fairchild. She is going to be a pain in my ass.”
“Hey!” Daddy covered Selena's ears again. “It’s like you guys didn't get my monthly newsletter on language modification!”
“No one here reads your newsletter, Jace,” Aunt Izzy rolled her eyes.
"I do," the Consul put up his hand.
Of course, you do Alec. I can totally see the LBAF gang defying Alec left and right UHKGXUYCSUYGCSYCFSED
“Izzy, how many times!” the Consul grumbled. “No placing bets on the children. Besides, everyone knows it’s going to be Alexandra.”
“Hey!” her parents said at the same time.
“What are y’all doing here?” Lexi came running then, cause her superpower was to magically appear whenever someone was talking about her. “We have shit to do! Come on!”
“Not helping, Lettuce!” Daddy shook his head. “Clary, take the lead.”
Of course, it’s gonna be Lexi.
FHUJCSDUHSDUHJ SELENA NOT UNDERSTANDING THE INNUENDO MAGNUS MADE LMAO NOT IN FRONT OF THE KIDS
“My name is Alexander Lightwood-Bane. I’m the Consul of the Clave. You will talk to me with respect.”
Selena saw Zara flinch at that. It was satisfying to watch.
Zara, I will gladly feed you to sharks stfu
“You sound a little jealous,” Zara grinned. “If you want to come back, we can arrange that. You could leave that good for nothing husband of yours and-”
“Zara, I swear by the angel,” Aunt Izzy said through gritted teeth. “Insult my husband again and see what happens.”
ISABELLE YES! I NEED MORE SIZZY WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH OF THESE TWO
SHE DID NOT JUST INSULT MAX AND RAFE FUCK YOU BITCH
OH, NOW SHE INSULTED THE TWINS. I WILL DROWN YOU DO NOT TEST ME
“They called me a freak too,” her mother spoke. “Insult our children again and I will show you what freaks can do.”
YES CLARY
Max and David were really close. Like Daddy and Uncle Alec.
Maybe even closer. Like Uncle Alec and Magnus - cause one of them was a warlock! And they always gave each other dopey looks.
HJBASYUGJCESDYUTGVCSDUTVSDT6U7VSDC THIS! (I think they get together because of the snippet but if they don’t-)
The moment Magnus left, Max snatched the credit card and whistled. “Y’all, Christmas came early.”
“We can’t just buy anything, Max,” Rafe rolled his eyes. “Dad will be pissed when he finds out.”
“Maybe we should buy little things we can hide,” Max winked. “Little…but expensive things.”
“Oh, like diamond rings?” Lexi gleamed.
“What would you even do with diamond rings?” Selena demanded.
“Sell them in the black market in exchange for cash,” Lexi replied.
“By the angel, Lex,” Rafe chuckled. “I'm gonna keep both my eyes on you.”
LEXI YES OMG YES YES YES YES
“Your demands are unacceptable,” Rafe said, imitating his father. “How about ice-cream?”
“I accept your counter proposal,” Lexi nodded, imitating Daddy. “Let’s unleash hell in Baskin-Robbins.”
BASKIN ROBBINS BOUTA BE RAIDED BY 4 CHAOTIC CHILDREN LET’S GO
Holy fuck she has children. Who’s the poor father?
“These are my sisters Saraquel and Remiel and Michael,” the boy pointed at the girls, completely ignoring Rafe’s comment. “Our parents named us after the archangels.”
“And they called us angel freaks?” Lexi muttered incredulously.
“I know, Lexi. Fancy names indeed,” Max nodded. “But kinda hard to pronounce to be honest.”
A very genuine what the fuck
“My name is Alexandra James Herondale,” Lexi said, her voice steady. “And I am named after the greatest Consul and dopest archer of all time. He is a better man than any of your dumb archangels.”
YES LEXI YOU GO, GIRL
“Idris is lame,” Max snorted now. “You don’t even have internet.”
Lexi shuddered at that.
The reason I would never want to live in Idris
THE WAY SELENA WAS READY TO BEAT THE GUY UP WHEN HE INSULTED MAGNUS AND HOW MAX GOT ANGRY WHEN HE INSULTED DAVID
SELENA’S 10 BITCH FUCK YOU
“Holy shit!” one of the girls said. “That was kinda cool. Is that a twin thing?”
“It’s a common sense thing,” Lexi rolled her eyes. “Duck!”
People are idiots
But Selena tried not to think about the other girl. It didn’t matter whose daughter Michael was – it only mattered whose daughter Selena was.
And she was the daughter of Clary Fairchild and Jace Herondale.
She was not going to run.
GIRL YES
Y’ALL DON'T GET KILLED
AYY MAGNUS IS HERE THEY’RE ALL GONNA BE OK NOW
“It’s warlock magic,” the boy whispered – but not too quietly. “It’s demonic.”
Some of the ichor from the demons fell right on the boy’s head.
“Oops,” Magnus said. “Warlock magic is also a little clumsy.”
HVBCDSHJCSDYCDYJGCD THE BOY DESERVED IT!!!!!
“Manuel has an important meeting,” Zara rolled her eyes. “I’m stuck babysitting them.”
“It’s not babysitting when you do it!” Daddy said incredulously. “You’re their mother. It’s called parenting.”
GODDAMIT WOMAN DON'T HAVE CHILDREN IF YOU CAN’T TAKE CARE OF THEM
“He called David a bastard,” Lexi said.
“He did what?” her mother demanded.
“And he called Max a freak,” Selena said.
“He did what?” the Consul demanded.
“And he flirted with Selena,” Rafe made a face.
“HE DID WHAT?” Daddy looked murderous.
NAH BECAUSE WE’RE ALL DOWNRIGHT READY TO KILL THIS BITCH
ALSO, SELENA WAS SO RIGHT TO BREAK THE BOY’S NOSE.
“Look at them! Cahooting in demonic languages,” Zara sniffed.
“It’s Spanish,” Aunt Izzy said incredulously. “Your husband speaks it too!”
Zara you dumb shit-
That part where Magnus was checking up on all of them and seeing if they’re ok and the kids looked like they had never seen anything like that-
They deserve better. GODDAMN IT JULIAN BLACKTHORN MANAGED TO BE A BETTER PARENT 12
Her father held Selena’s hand in his. “You better raise your son to respect women, Zara – Because I’m raising my daughters to break noses.”
YES YES YES YES
He knelt down next to her and put a strand of hair behind her ear. “Can I tell you a secret, cupcake?”
Selena nodded. She loved secrets.
“People call me a freak too,” Magnus winked.
“You?” Selena gasped.
“Yes,” he nodded. “If people call you a freak, it means you are doing something different. Something bold. Something small minds will never be able to think of. So, it’s not an insult. Don’t forget that.”
YES THIS
AWWW THE LITTLE GIRL GAVE SELENA HER NECKLACE.
“Some people don’t like women in power.”
“Why not?”
“Because women get shit done.”
Selena giggled at that. “You said a bad word.”
“It’s not bad. Say it with me, Selena,” her mother said gently. “Women get shit done.”
YES WE GET SHIT DONE
“Are you saying I shouldn’t be afraid?” Selena asked. “I should be strong?”
“I'm saying you should be anything you want to be,” her mother kissed her head. “You can be brave like Izzy. You can be fearless like Emma. You can be kind like Cristina. You can be cool like Dru. You can be sensible like Maia. You can be confident like Lily. You can be smart like Tessa. You can be fierce like Diana. You can be geeky like me.”
Her mother held her face closely. “You get to decide what kind of woman you want to be. I want you to remember that - because there is no wrong way to be a woman.”
THIS! WE NEED TO HEAR THIS MORE OFTEN!
“The next time someone points fingers at you because you are a woman, go ahead and break them.”
DO IT
This was her mother.
Clary Fairchild. One of the most powerful shadowhunters.
Selena sometimes forgot that. Sometimes you forget your mom is so much more than your mom.
There is a person underneath that – someone full of dreams and hopes and talents you could never imagine.
SHE’S LITERALLY SO POWERFUL AND AMAZING IF I SEE ONE MORE PERSON HATE ON HER I'M GONNA KILL THEM
THE IDRIS VISION EDYUGYFEUGYUKGFEWUYTGFEWUTFEW7FE
Rafe was going to be their leader. He would be Selena’s Consul. She knew it.
Gigi was going to be just like Aunt Izzy. An amazing inventor. A chaos to be reckoned with.
Lexi was going to be the best fighter in the whole world. She would fly above everyone and everything.
And David and Max…Well, they seemed very happy with each other. Selena supposed that was enough. Like Uncle Alec and Magnus. To find something you can be happy with no matter what. Because sometimes there was no greater purpose than love.
And Selena….She knew exactly what she was going to do.
She was going to lead all of them back to Idris.
Explain why I'm crying reading this. I love them all so much. They mean so much to me already. SELENA ONE DAY YOU’RE GONNA LEAD THEM ALL BACK TO IDRIS I KNOW YOU WILL
This chapter was beautiful. I'm gonna be in a corner crying in case someone needs me. See ya on Friday!! (well technically it’ll be Saturday for me since for me the updates come after midnight)

Breathing the same air as Lee Haechan meant trouble.
Especially for you, someone as simple as a book store cashier, it'd be the best to stay away from him.
But there was something so intriguing about him the first encounter, that made both you and him go back to each other.
Maybe it was a mere coincidence, or maybe it was because you'd pray to clash paths with him each time you went to work.
But it was on a Sunday, night shift, when the owner of the small bookstore expressed her concerns about her granddaughter being sick, stating that she needs to leave for the day, leaving you by yourself to close up when you met him.
You were fine with that, your house was just around the corner.
There was hardly an hour left, and only about a customer or two came in, leaving after getting what they what they wanted. You decided to pack up for the day. Walking lane by lane, table to table to clean up the place.
Reaching over shelves to place the books that were scattered on the table, you hear a bang from behind, startling you.
You cautiously approach the front, staying behind the shelf in case it'd be a thief. There, near your counter, stood a boy, his back facing you. His back was moving up and down frantically. Thinking that he's a customer, you come out of your hiding, already wearing a smile on your face.
"Welcome Si-" you see the boy flinch, not expecting anyone to be there. He swore he saw the lights dim from outside and no movement. He turned back in a swift motion, clutching at something inside of his leather jacket. Upon examining his features carefully, noticing faint red at the corner of his lips, hair disheveled, you let out a gasp.
You approach him with fast steps "Sir are you ok-" your steps were halted, the boy, who had his hands inside his jacket, took it out, unstable hands pointing a gun at you. You stood dead on your track, breathing uneven as you stood in a life and death situation. "Back off." The boy opened his mouth the first time that night. Voice rough, yet honey like.
The longer you stand there, the more you see his eyelids drop. As scared as you were, you being the nice person you are, take small steps one after the other. It was extremely silent, when he lost consciousness, falling face first onto the ground in front of you. You fasten your steps towards him, the distance shortening with each step you take.
"Sir?? Mr.??" you turn him around, carefully placing him back onto the floor, his front facing you, the proximity of your faces made it easier for you to see the scratches that scattered all over his face, moles spilled here and there. The boy was good looking, no doubts.
With great difficulty, you lift him up, placing him on your back, going back towards the end of the book store, where the students usually sit to study without getting disturbed.
The seats there were much more comfortable than the wooden ones at the front of the store. You drop him onto one of the seats, going back to the counter to get out the first aid kit, when you hear the door being slammed open.
In came 3 guys, all in similar attire, they were all over 6'0 from the looks of it, or maybe you were just short. They were panting hard, just like how you'd seen the other boy at the back of your store.
They screamed danger.
"Where the fuck is he?" one of them asked, the tallest among the three, they were definitely here for the unknown boy, all three carrying pistols in their own hands. You feign confusion, oblivious to the guys. "Pardon me?" The one beside the guy who spoke up, looked you up and down, turning front, facing the shop scanning his eyes all over the place. "Lee Haechan. Where is he?" he asked.
Haechan. That's what the boy's name is.
"I'm sorry i do not know who you're talking about" you turn back to your counter. One of them approached you, standing extremely close, the only thing preventing your bodies from touching being the counter.
"Did you see anyone pass by here?" his voice was deadly low. You gulp down the lump forming in your throat in a subtle way. You shake your head. "But i did see someone run past the corner store" the boys all nodded their heads, exchanging glances as you look at them exit the store, amused at how gullible the guys were. After making sure they left, you make your way to the back, this time with the first aid kit in your hand.
On reaching, you set the box down, taking your towel from your pocket, approaching his body, his breath now normal. You wipe the sweat from his forehead, the nape of his neck, cleaning it up.
Satisfied, you reach out for a cotton ball, pouring a little bit of antiseptic onto it, dabbing it over his bruises.
You started from the scars at the sides of his face, then the edge of his slit eyebrow, to his left cheek. The only thing left, his lips.
You turn back setting the used cotton ball, taking a new one out when you feel yourself being watched.
He said not a word, just stared back, sending shivers down your back. You decided to resort back to cleaning his wound, approaching him for the third time that night, almost placing the cotton ball at the dried blood in the corner of his lips. When seeing him, not put up a protest, you continue.
You face the boy, Haechan once again, immediately dropping the cotton as you find him stare right into your soul. Breathtaking. The only word that can explain the boy. His features cold, eyes void of any emotion, it was scary, horrifying even. You unintentionally stammer "I-i was just cleaning up your wound"
"if you don't mind me asking, wha-what happened to you?" silence. "Haechan..?" that clearly caught the boy off-guard. "How do you know my name?" he asked, voice no longer hoarse as it was when he passed out.
It was sweet, but still stern enough to scare anyone. "Oh there came these - these three guys looking for you, i assumed, an-d they said Haechan, so i thought that's your name"
You hear him mumble something under his breath, looking down, you spoke once again. "I sent them the wrong way though so you're fine, we can call the cops and tell them you were being chased-"
That's when he got up from his seat, obviously taller than you, his demeanor intimidating.
"Thank you for the service, but next time, try minding your own fucking business" and with that, he made his way out of the store.
And that was one out of n times you saved the boy, Lee Haechan's life.
That wasn't the last of Haechan that you saw.
Yes, he tried pushing you away each time you dashed each other. He'd ignore you, but you followed him around, still wanting to figure out what led to the boy having a fresh bruise each day.
-
It was 7:45pm you were let off work that day, exactly two weeks after the incident, two weeks of following the boy and two weeks into your new found interest.
Your house was the last one in your street, so it took at least 3 alley ways to cut short the route to your house, without walking on the main road
You stop at the store nearby to get some snack to munch on your way, paying for it and taking a turn into the corner street, house being just 2 minutes away now.
Passing by one of the alley ways, through your peripheral, you see a figure hunched over, leaning against the wall while 2 others, holding the boy, with another throwing blows after blows.
Not wanting to turn a blind eye, you hide behind the wall leading to the alley, taking out your phone, searching for a cop siren sound, because as much as you wanted to help the guy, you weren't going to risk your life going in there, not like that would do much anyways
Upon finding the desired sound you turn your volume to max, playing the audio, sparing a second glance into the alley way.
"Fuck fuck fuck run!" they collectively screamed, bolting out of the narrow road, as you pressed yourself hard against the wall in order to hide your figure from them. They didn't pay much attention to their surroundings, running further down the busy road far away from the street you stood in.
After making sure the coast was clear, you turn back, making your way slowly into the alleyway. Seeing him walking towards the entrance, hands clutching his middle, crouching.
"Hey are you okay?" you call out, hearing a voice, he looks up, "Haechan??". You see Haechan grit his teeth, turning his head to the side as you came in as hid life savior for the 14th time in a 2 week span, "For fuck's sake…"
You quicken your steps towards him, replacing his hand in the middle with yours, placing his hand over your shoulder. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Haechan asks, turning his face towards you with a glare, which softened just a bit after seeing the worried look on your face.
"Helping you. Again." He spits out blood, as you scrunch your face seeing the red substance. You start walking towards your house with fast steps, tumbling now and then when he loses his balance. "where are you taking me?" he asked, "Home."
"No Y/n not your house, they'll get to you"
Over the past weeks of you chasing him, him pushing you away and then you rescuing him, he had gotten to know quite a lot about you, as you were a bubbly person. Even so you knew nothing about him, besides the fact that his name is Lee Haechan and he is 20 years old.
"They won't" you say after reaching your house, gently stepping away from him to take out the keys.
You hear him mutter a few curses under his breath.
You open the door and reach out to hold him again, to which he pushed your hand away, making his way into your house on his own. He sat down on your couch, as you made your way to your room, placing the bag down on your bed before heading into the washroom to get the first aid kit.
Haechan sat motionless, looking around the studio apartment, seeing a bunch of pictures hung on the wall, pictures varying from your childhood days, to your highschool years and then to present, a smile unintentionally made its way onto his face.
Pathetic
Haechan growled at himself for how fast he'd gotten a soft spot for you. Yes he hated you the first few days, yes he envied you for living a normal life, but the genuine worry that would take over your expression each time you see him, made him feel human feelings that he hadn't felt in years.
It made him feel warm, made him feel the want to reach out to you again and again, but he knew that's wrong.
So immersed in his thoughts, Haechan didn't notice your presence until he heard an object hit the glass table in front of him.
"Take your shirt off" you said, placing the bowl of warm water down, alongside the first aid kit.
Haechan obliged, too drained to put up a protest, there covered multiple tattoos, most plain drawings with no meaning, but some so beautiful that you couldn't take your eyes off them.
"You wanna fuck me you just ask nicely Y/n, staring is rude" Haechan spoke, as you shift your gaze from his abdomen to his eyes, a smirk playing on his face.
"S-shut up" you say, turning back to take the towel, dipping it in warm water, bringing it up to his face, wiping it clean, as you slowly drag it down his chest, scrubbing clean of any dirt and blood.
Reaching his wound you softly wipe over it, careful not to increase the cut or the blood flow.
Haechan let you do what you did the best, knowing that you're dying to ask him a to z of everything that's happened from when you met him, till date.
"Haechan..?"
"I know what you're about to ask, don't." he said.
You didn't notice the position your in, leaving closer to wipe the last bit of blood off of him
"I think I have the right to know a little at least Haechan, this is plain unfair" you let out, sitting down as you felt your knees go numb. Haechan lets out a groan the moment you found a comfortable position to stay in, confusing you.
You look down, to see why he had let out the sign of discomfort, noticing now that your knees were directly at his groin, and you had made yourself comfortable on his thigh. Eyes widened, you immediately jolt up, only to feel yourself being pulled back down. "Stay."
You nod, slightly flushed as you felt Haechan draw circles with his fingers on your hips that he had used to keep you in place.
Haechan contemplates for a while, thinking whether to tell it to you or not.
"Y/n" he called out, you hum in response too concentrated in cleaning the wound on his shoulder to look up. You were right, it was unfair considering you save him from death's door step each time you could.
"my world is something that everyone asks you to stay away from. You especially, I regret coming into that store of yours the other day. It's dangerous, and definitely not a place for you." Haechan sat up straight, causing you to shift on top of him.
He picked you up by the waist, placing you on top of his lap once again, this time on both legs rather straddling one.
It's come this far, he gets to let his guards down just this once, right?
"I'm dangerous, Y/n. Not just my world. My world is all about selling drugs, gambling, stealing, murder you name it"
"Isn't that, like illegal?" you open your mouth finally, looking up from your hands, to his eyes. The innocence they held melted Haechan's heart, smiling at your question.
"Probably, who cares?" his casual reply had you worried about him.
The longer you stare at him with pure concern, a little nervousness and maybe, maybe just a bit of want, fueled up Haechan's desire.
Fuck it.
He reached out, pulling you down using your neck, pressing his lips firm against yours, the sudden contact made you flinch, but soon enough had you melting right into his touch.
He took your hands, that held the towel with his blood, removing the clothing from your hands and wrapped it around his neck.
The kiss was nowhere near soft, it was purely out of lust, frustration, and maybe a little love even.
Haechan pushed your hips further near his crotch, holding you there tightly, dragging his tongue across your lower lip, retreating it to bite down on the flesh, causing you to let out a soft moan.
You feel him smirk against your lips, his hands leaving your hips, going further down to your ass, giving it a light squeeze. "H-haechan.. Fuck" left your mouth as he attached his lips onto you neck, placing wet kisses in a rushed pace, almost as though he'd been wanting to do this all along.
"You have no idea, princess. But-" he nibbled on the skin of your neck, letting out a soft groan as your hips buck, hitting his clothed member.
"You drive me crazy"

Okay, let's try this one more time. This story was given feedback by the talented @cailannuesugi and @voltage-vixen. Thank you, ladies, for your help and encouragement when I felt like giving up.
Title: Meeting the Mogul
Ikesen Modern Day AU
A/N: This is my first fic, so please don't expect it to be perfect. I also don't own Ikesen Nobunaga and the other characters except my OC. Cybird owns them.
This is inspired by the artwork I commissioned from @shrimpalompa 💕
With her eyebrows furrowed, Mia allowed her feet to drag along the length of Manhattan's busy streets. Despite the crowd of busy professionals hurrying to buy their lunches from the food trucks lined up along 50th Street, and the incessant honking of cars and taxis stuck in traffic, all she could think of is how badly she messed up her last interview.
The delightful scent of sauteed garlic and onions wafting in the air made her stomach growl slightly louder than usual. There was nothing she wanted more at that moment than to eat a nice gyro sandwich at Lil Zeus Food Truck, but with only fifty dollars to tide her over until she finds a job, she took a deep breath, turned away from the food truck, and continued to walk. She took one step after another, until the concrete pavement was replaced by a patch of green, and the sound of car horns was replaced by the catchy melody of a marching band practicing nearby.
Central Park was beautiful at this time of day - mostly because the afternoon crowd and the throngs of tourists don't frequent the place at this hour.
She sat on the grass, defeated. She had one shot at getting employed as a clerk in the prestigious firm, and she totally screwed her interview. "Seriously, who asks about the President's background during the interview anyway? " she wondered out loud still feeling bitter about her failure at the hands of Azuchi Inc's, Vice President of Human Resources, Hideyoshi Toyotomi. She sighed again, took out her mobile and typed in the keywords 'Nobunaga Oda, Azuchi Inc'. Pages upon pages of news articles about the President and CEO appeared on her screen, much to her surprise. As her finger hovered over one of the articles, she silently cursed herself for not having thought of doing this yesterday before she finally gave in and pored over the details on the mysterious mogul.
***
He watched her as she sat on the grass with her back turned to him. He winced at the last thought; then again, she didn't seem like the type who'd pick out her dates online. From where he stood, it appeared like she was playing a game on her phone or browsing one of those social media sites his employees are so fond of... Or maybe checking out a dating site. Though she didn’t seem like the type to rely on other sources to help her find a date. His thoughts drifted to their first encounter yesterday, and he smirked.
In an attempt to avoid the possibility of listening to his Vice President of Human Resources' complaints about his decision to ride his bike to work, he opted to enter the building through the ever-busy and usually crowded Talent Management Hub. Donned in a black button-down shirt, which he wore untucked with a pair of dark denim jeans, he handed his helmet to the seemingly dumbstruck guard and made his way to the exit leading to the main lobby. Just as he was about to step into the main lobby, he felt someone grip his wrist tightly.
"Excuse me, where do you think you're going?"
He turned and saw a girl - not more than twenty-four if he had to guess - looking sternly at him while she gripped his wrist tightly.
He heard collective gasps around them, but she didn't seem to have noticed. From the corner of his eye, he saw one of the managers make his way towards them, but he stopped him before he could get any closer. The clock on the wall read 9:25 am, so he had a good five minutes before his weekly meeting with Marketing, but the girl holding on to him intrigued him so much, he didn't mind canceling. Just what was she trying to get at by stopping him, he wondered.
"Didn't you just arrive, Sir? You don't have an ID, so you must be an applicant, too," she said gently, as she tugged him to follow her to the waiting area. Still confused, he glanced at the other people who were quietly seated, trying to avoid his gaze. "It's unprofessional to cut the line, you know. Let's wait for our turn here."
He chuckled at the realization that she didn't know who he was. He decided to humor her by sitting beside her, but it didn't take long until she was called for her initial screening. It was at that moment that he decided they needed to hire her. However, when Hideyoshi dished out his infamous rapid-fire "Oda Fast Facts" on her, there was no doubt she wasn't going to be signing a contract with them. The dashing dark-haired mogul frowned as he recalled the report he was given on the status of her application. He recognized potential when he sees one, and knew they had just let this one slip away. He left word that he was having lunch elsewhere, and took off with his Vice President of Operations following closely at his heel.
"You know what you should do next? You should buy that Lil’ Zeus food truck. Have you seen the line? It felt like ages before I got us some of these!" A familiar voice brought him out of his thoughts and he glanced sideways to see that his executive had just arrived carrying a gyro on each hand. "It's about time you got here. What was the matter, couldn't charm the ladies to get ahead? You must be losing your touch, Mitsuhide, " he teased.
The silver-haired executive smirked as he handed one of the gyros to his boss. "I'll have you know I snaked my way to the front of the line in less than 2 minutes. The cook ran out of oregano and they had to get a fresh batch." He paused for a second or two to take in the scenery before him. "So is there a reason you wanted to have lunch here?"
"No reason, " the dark-haired debonaire responded, his carnelian colored eyes sparkling with mischief as he stared at the girl whose back was turned at them once again. "I see, " Mitsuhide said, thrusting the other gyro at him. "Good luck, boss. I'll see you at the office." He flashed the young executive a dazzling smile before he turned and made his way towards the unassuming girl.
***
"That's funny, he has no pictures, " she mentioned, after opening yet another news article about the mysterious Nobunaga Oda - the sixth since she started - and there still wasn't any photos of the man in question.
"Usually that’s the case when the person's not very good looking."
Startled at the sound of his voice, she jumped and turned around. Standing a few feet away from her was the man she met in the interview. Though she still didn't know his name considering she never asked in the interview, and he never introduced himself. Today, he was wearing a white button-down shirt, which was still untucked and a pair of khaki trousers. She never noticed how attractive he was until today - more like a model, with his tall and well-toned physique, which was evident in the cut of his clothes.
"It's you, " she said.
"Yeah. Me, " he replied. "Had lunch?"
"Yes, " she nodded, but her stomach wasn't having it. Her face flushed red as soon as her stomach growled.
He snickered. "You know, I happen to have an extra gyro."
"Do you always happen to carry a spare gyro around?"
Her retort made him laugh, as he really didn't see that coming. "Did anyone ever tell you that you're hilarious, " he asked. He plopped down beside her in the grass and handed her one of the gyros. "And to answer your question, I carry them around in case I get lucky and see a pretty girl who is in desperate need of lunch."
"My hero, " she smiled. "Thank you for this. I'm Mia, by the way. And you?"
He shrugged, ignoring the fact that she had introduced herself. "So, what were you doing on your phone, looking for a date or something?"
"Of course not, " she said, as she munched on her sandwich. "I was curious to see what Nobunaga Oda looks like."
"Why would you want to know how he looks?"
She took out her phone with one hand and showed him the search results. "See these? I've read six articles about him, and not one of them contained any pictures of him. Isn't that strange?"
He scanned the titles and frowned. "Maybe he doesn't want his picture taken."
"Why though? I think he's amazing. I mean, he's not even from here, yet he made a name for himself and he's been helping boost Japan's economy even from offshore. He's made a name for himself in a place where people least expected him to. His achievements are known all over Japan, and that's why I wanted so badly to come to New York and work at Azuchi Inc."
He cocked an eyebrow at her passionate response. It sure wasn't the first time he's heard people sing praises about him and his organization, but it felt different hearing it from someone who had nothing to gain from sharing this with him because she absolutely had no idea who he was.
"Speaking of which, whatever happened to your application?" It was her turn to ask. For a moment, he almost forgot that she thought he was an applicant, too. She cleared her throat. "What's the matter? You know you don't have to be embarrassed if you didn't make it. I mean, I didn't -"
"Why did you fail?"
She frowned. That was twice he ignored her questions, yet he had the gall to ask her such a rude question. What kind of person is he exactly, she silently wondered.
"If you're done trying to assess whether I'm trustworthy or not, would you mind answering my question?"
Rude. This man was just plain rude, she concluded. "Why do I need to answer that?"
"Because I gave you a sandwich, " he said, as he lay carelessly on the grass with his hands behind his head.. "And because you look like you're going to tell me anyway."
She sighed. Well, he wasn't wrong, she thought. "I suppose it was it because I didn't know a thing about the President and CEO of Azuchi, Inc, " she said, hanging her head low. "Except for his name, I didn't know where he came from, what his philosophy was, his advocacy, why he prefers to drink tea from Japan…"
"Don't you think that information is useless?"
"I used to. I'm not gonna lie that I felt really bad after the interview with Mr. Toyotomi. I felt bad because I thought those questions he asked me were ridiculous, " she said, as she tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "But I realized something while I was reading through the articles about Nobunaga Oda. I now understand that Mr. Toyotomi only wanted to make sure I knew and understood Mr. Oda's vision because it is only when you understand that you can actually contribute to that vision by working hard. I didn't really know that this morning, but now, I'd do anything to get another shot at that interview."
His eyes never left hers as she spoke, and with each topic, he found himself more and more entranced by her - perhaps it was the way her face lit up and her hands moved as she spoke about the things she was passionate about, or her wistful smile as she stared at the lake in between topics. He was captivated, so much so that he hadn't noticed that time has gone by until he felt his phone vibrate.
Frowning, he took out the sleek gadget from his pocket and was briefly surprised. It was 3:00 pm - way past his supposed lunch break. Hideyoshi would have a fit, he silently thought, smirking.
Sighing, he sat up and brushed the dirt off the back of his shirt. "As much as I'd like to stay and talk some more -"
"You have to go, " she said, cutting him off. She watched him quietly as he straightened his clothes up and ran his hand through his messy black hair. She had never been so drawn to a person before, but there was something about him that spoke to her - maybe it was the way he listened to her like what she was saying was important or the way he challenged her opinion every now and then… or even the way she saw her reflection in his eyes when he smiled.
The light clapping sound that resonated in the air as he dusted off his clothes faded, and she suddenly felt her heart grow heavy - like all three weeks worth of homesickness had finally kicked in.
"You look like you're gonna cry, " he teased, as he stood and offered his hand out to her. "Are you gonna miss me?"
"Am not, " she replied while he pulled her to her feet. "But did I get you in trouble?"
"I'm late for a meeting. Nothing I can't handle, " he winked. "I'm just gonna tell them that I met an interesting girl in Central Park."
"You make me sound weird."
He snickered. "Okay. How about I say a cute girl held me hostage?"
"They're not gonna believe you, " she replied, her face turning slightly red.
"Here, " he said, handing his phone over to her. "Let's take a picture, in case they require proof."
"And make me the laughing stock of your team, "she retorted but allowed him to take a picture anyway.
"They wouldn't dare laugh, " he assured her as he checked their picture and smiled. "This is a good picture."
"Yes, it is." She peered at his handsome face in the picture and smiled.
"I don't like having my picture taken because I always seem to look strange, but I like this one, " he smiled back. "Well then…"
"Yeah, I guess this is goodbye."
"I'll see you tomorrow at 8."
"What? Here?"
He laughed, and the rich sound tickling her ear. "At my office, silly. Tell Mr. Toyotomi I sent you there. He'll be able to give you an orientation, " he said casually and then turned to leave.
"Mr. Toyotomi - as in the guy from Azuchi, Inc? I'm confused… Whom should I say sent me, " she called out as he started to walk.
"Oh. Tell him I sent you, " he turned to face her once again and exaggerated a bow. "Nobunaga Oda. I never told you before, but it's a pleasure to meet you, Mia. I'll see you bright and early tomorrow."
Her heart pounded loudly in her chest as she watched him disappear in the distance, she almost failed to notice a new text message that read:
'We are pleased to offer you the role of Assistant to the CEO. Please report to Mr. Hideyoshi Toyotomi's office at the 41st floor of Azuchi, Inc tomorrow at 8:00 am sharp. - Mitsunari Ichida, Director of Talent Management.'
End.

Possible Japril fanfic
This was an idea I have been considering for a while, but I don’t know if I should go along with it. Tell me what you guys think.
The rain poured heavily, drenching the cabin. Inside, the two identical girls were tending to their own activities. Lucy Kepner decided to spend her day playing solitaire while Bianca Avery was tacking pictures she cut from a magazine to the walls, both girls peacefully ignoring each other.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew in, sending Bianca's pictures to the floor. Gasping, she dashed over to the window and tried to pull it shut.
Lucy noticed her plight and went over to help. "Oh gosh!" she exclaimed. "It's stuck!"
Fortunately, they were able to get the window completely closed.
“Thanks," Bianca said with the first genuine smile she gave Lucy since they met.
"You're welcome," Lucy replied with a genuine smile of her own.
Bianca squatted to pick up the pictures, and Lucy knelt to help her gather them. When Lucy noticed Bianca's stuffed frog inside of the bucket she set out to catch the rain water, she grabbed it and handed it to the other young lady.
"Here's your..."
"Binky," Bianca finished for her, taking the stuffed frog and some of the pictures.
"Are any of your pictures ruined?" Lucy asked in concern.
Bianca sighed while showing Lucy a torn picture. "Only Eric Dane."
"Who?" Lucy questioned with furrowed brows.
Bianca released a surprised scoff. "You can't tell me that you don't know who Eric Dane is."
Lucy blushed and fell into a seated position on the floor. "Well, I don't watch much television, unless you count surgery videos. I actually spend most of my free time practicing sutures on my teddy bears." She giggled nervously, thinking that Bianca would find her hobby strange.
"You do sutures in your spare time too?"
"Too?" Lucy asked with a lifted brow. "You mean...?"
Bianca nodded before putting the pictures to the side and sitting next to the other young lady. "I can't tell you how much my grandma Catherine tries to get me to practice the running whip-stitch."
Lucy giggled. "Your grandmother’s name is Catherine?"
"Mhmm."
"What a coincidence! Catherine is my middle name."
“Really?" Bianca received a nod in response. "My middle name is Lexie. It's from an old friend of my dad’s who passed away before I was born."
“If you don't mind me asking, why do you practice sutures?"
“I come from a family of surgeons. My dad, grandma, and even my great-grandpa, Harper Avery. He died when I was a baby."
“Harper Avery? As in the Harper Avery Award?”
Bianca nodded. "Yeah, but my dad doesn't want me to rest on the laurels of being an Avery—whatever that's supposed to mean." She rolled her eyes. "So, how do you know about sutures and the Harper Avery Award?”
Lucy smiled. "My mom is a surgeon too. Head of Trauma, to be exact. She was nominated for a Harper Avery last year, but she lost to a cardio surgeon, who created a way to do a hetero-topic transplant without it taking too much time. I haven't had a chance to read the article about it yet, but it sounds interesting."
“Sounds like something my Aunt Maggie would enjoy,” Bianca said with a chuckle. “So, what hospital does your mom work?”
“North Valley. It's in Whitefish, Montana, which is like 3000 miles from here."
Bianca’s eyes widen. “3000 miles?!”
Lucy giggled. “I’m kidding. But it feels that long away from home, you know.”
“Tell me about it. I miss Seattle, especially the ferry boats."
“How far away is Seattle?”
“Washington, the state, is at the end of the country. Actually..." Bianca trailed off as she grabbed a photograph from her stack of pictures. "Here's a picture of my house."
“Wow!” Lucy exclaimed. “It’s beautiful.”
“My Uncle Derek built it,” Bianca explained. “He died two years ago though. My Aunt Meredith couldn’t handle living there anymore, so my dad bought the house from her, and we have lived there since.”
While she talked, Lucy noticed a man with his back towards the camera. His had caramel skin—similar to hers—and a neatly shaved head. He wore a burgundy polo shirt and a pair of blue jeans.
“Who’s that?” She asked, passing the photo back to Bianca.
“That’s my dad. He didn’t know I was taking the picture or else he would’ve turned around.”
Lucy nodded, taking in the information.
“In a way, he's like my best friend. We do everything—and I mean everything—together…." she trailed off when Lucy suddenly stood up and rubbed her arms. "What's the matter?"
“Nothing,” Lucy answered as she walked over to her cot and climbed in. “It’s just chilly in here, that’s all.”
Bianca wasn't buying it, but she shrugged it off and decided to rummage through her trunk. She pulled out a pack of Oreo's and a container of Jif peanut butter. "Want one?"
“Sure. I love Oreo's. At home, I eat them with peanut butter.”
“Get out! So do I!” Bianca responded, marveling at how much she and Lucy—a girl she met days ago—have in common.
“You’re kidding? Most people find it disgusting.”
“I know right. I really don't get it." Bianca's face twisted into confusion as she walked over to Lucy's cot and took a seat on her trunk.
“Me neither,” Lucy agreed.
“So, what's your dad like?" Bianca asked curiously as she opened the jar of peanut butter and dipped an Oreo inside. "Is he the kind of father you can talk to or is he one of those workaholic types?"
“I don’t have a father,” Lucy answered, but then she realized her words came out wrong. “Of course, I have a biological father, but I never met him. He and my mom divorced when I was a baby. She never talks about him. It’s almost like he evaporated or something.” She took an Oreo and dipped hers in the peanut butter.
“It’s scary the way people don’t stay together anymore,” Bianca replied.
“Tell me about it.”
The pair fell into a comfortable silence while munching on their Oreo's and peanut butter.
“How old are you?” Bianca asked, never being short of questions.
“I’ll be twelve on October 24th,” Lucy answered.
“SHUT UP!” Bianca responded, and Lucy furrowed her brows. “So will I!”
Lucy’s eyes widen. “You were born on October 24th too? How weird is that?”
“Extremely," Bianca agreed. She randomly glanced at the window and beamed when she noticed the rain had stopped. "Hey! It stopped raining! How about we go to the mess hall and get a popsicle or something?"
Before Lucy could answer, Bianca leapt off the trunk and headed towards the door. She was halfway out of the cabin when she realized that Lucy wasn't following her. She turned and found the other girl nervously fidgeting with her locket.
“Are you okay?” She asked in concern.
“Bianca, what is your mother like?”
“I don’t have one,” Bianca answered simply, unsure of why the other girl would want to know. “My parent split up when I was baby or probably before then. My dad doesn't like to talk about her. All I know is that she was really beautiful.”
“How do you know for sure?” Lucy inquired.
“Because my dad had this old picture of her in his sock drawer, and he caught me looking at it all the time, so he gave it to me.” She looked towards the woods then back at Lucy. “I’m really thirsty. Are you sure you don’t want to get something to drink?”
“Will you stop thinking about your stomach at a time like this!” Lucy admonished, taking the other young lady aback.
“At a time like what?” Bianca asked with furrowed brows.
“Don’t you realize what’s happening here?!” Lucy exclaimed and started pacing the cabin while Bianca watched her. “Think about it! Your parents are no longer together, and neither are mine. You’ve never seen your mom, and I’ve never seen my dad.”
Bianca listened intently to Lucy’s words.
“You have an old picture of your mom, and I have an old picture of my dad. Well, you probably have a whole picture. Mine is a pathetic little thing that’s ripped in half-”
Upon hearing this, Bianca's eyes widen and she made a mad dash for her trunk, shifting things around as she looked for something in particular.
“What are you looking in your trunk for?”
Bianca stood, clutching a wrinkled and torn pictured to her chest. “This is a picture of my mom, and it’s ripped too.”
“Right down the middle?”
“Right down the middle,” Bianca repeated.
Lucy locked eyes with Bianca for a minute before going over to her drawer and taking out a pencil case that held her own wrinkled and ripped photograph of her father. She clutched it to her chest and turned towards Bianca.
"This is so….freaky,” she said nervously while slowly walking towards Bianca.
“Very.”
“I say we count to three, then show them to each other. Okay?”
Bianca nodded in agreement.
“One...”
“Two...”
“Three!” The girls said in unison before turning the pictures towards each other, gasping as they saw the images of their parents in the hands of the other girl before connecting them into a perfect fit.
(AN: Please excuse the awful edit)
“That’s my mom,” Lucy whispered, staring at the twenty-five-year-old face of April Kepner.
“That’s my dad,” Bianca said in awe of the twenty-six-year-old face of Jackson Avery.
Just then, a bell sounded in the distance.
“That's the lunch bell," Bianca announced, her voice choking as she's pulled out of her revelry. "But I'm not really hungry anymore."
Lucy reached out to wipe a stray tear that fell from Bianca's eyes, unsuccessfully fighting the urge to crack tears herself.
“So,” Bianca spoke again, “if your mom is my mom…..and my dad is your dad, and we’re both born on October 24th, then we are like….like sisters!”
“Sisters?” Lucy replied, her tears flowing freely down her cheek. “Bianca, we’re twins.”
Overcome with the emotions of their unexpected reunion, the two girls embraced, wetting each other's shoulders with their tears.
