Okay, so you know the song "It's a wonderful cat's life"? That's basically their dynamic to me lol. Following that line of thought, I like to think that it was Chenya who fell for Riddle first! By this I mean… He wouldn't act on his feelings towards Riddle (maybe even going out with other people in the meantime to forget about him? oh the angst-).

It would still take one year more, after Riddle's overblot, for him to do an actual introspection and accept his feelings towards Chenya. Now, it's not easy for him. He already knows he likes him, then what? Should he try to pursue a relationship? Give up on it? Trey would become his advisor in this sort of situation, and given that he's also friends with Chenya, he would already be aware of the catboy's feelings for the younger boy, so he would encourage Riddle to give it a chance.

With all this said, it would be Riddle the one to confess; Chenya wouldn't have expected it, but of course he's happy and quickly accepts. Once they're both dating, the relationship would develop slowly but surely, starting with baby steps. First starting with little dates in more private places of the Heartslabyul gardens, then maybe moving to other locations around Sage Island.

I think Riddle would still be hesitant about having dates back home in the Rose Queendom, because they might run into one of his mother's acquaintances, not to mention his mother herself. But Chenya would introduce him to his own family first. Since cats usually have many kittens, I like to imagine that Chenya would have at least some siblings and they would all adore Riddle (and would love to mess with him lol, but Chenya is there to protect him -only he can annoy his boyfriend).

However, I don't think Riddle would be the type to date someone out of a whim, so when deciding to date Chenya he already knew sooner or later he would have to confront his mother. He just needs time, is all! After finishing higschool he would tell her about his decision and if she doesn't approve of it… well, he already has a family where he can make himself at home.

Oh right I said something about giving my opinions on the expansion so uh, I guess I should start writing them out now.

Obiviously spoilers for the entirety of Dawntrail MSQ!!!

Tbh I don't know where to start iuefhiuefh.

Uhhh graphical update turned out nice! Out of the 3 of us, me and Shu kinda questioned if the update even happened since Hawu'li and Dre were virtually same as before, and Nana (player) kept mentioning how cute Nana (character) looks now. My only complaint is that Hawu'li's eyes are like one or two shades darker than they used to be, and I'm currently kinda debating if I want to bother using fantasia to fix it.

Enviroments look nice, and while I'm yet to go to many of the old areas (I sent Shu to go look at Il Mheg while me and Nana sat in que and it looked very nice), new areas are gorgeous! All of us literally screamed out loud when we noticed that the grass bends when you touch it haha. I'm also personally fan of the little tilt thing mounts do now if you strafe - it's very satisfying and I keep strafing around just to see my bike or flying mount tilt (❁´◡`❁)

As for story: I'm genuely surprised to see posts that some people didn't like it? I wouldn't call it my favorite expansion, but to me the story was good and the characters enjoyable. Only thing I'd complain about is that the pacing is very funky at times: first few areas are fine, then it slows down to a crawl, then speeds up very quickly to again slow down to almost complete halt before things pick up again. I still fail to care too much about the "cowboy area" - it felt very disconnected from everything else. Kinda same with the moblin area, but at least that place had some connectivity to the competition (+ the kidnap plot).

Meanwhile the "blue area" (sorry about the terms iauefhhu I don't have game open rn and I am chronically incapable of remembering any names) felt rushed: we wander in, no one wants to talk to us, then suddenly the big antagonist up till that point just goes "hey uh our culture's fucked, if you wanna change it I'll help". Imo that could've used some more time. Maybe have the Wuk Lamat instance happen earlier, and have the big lizard man think about things a bit longer, just to make it feel like he didn't change his entire worldview in like, half a quest.

As mentioned, cowboy area felt incredibly boring to me and I honestly don't know why. Catboy tribe was fine - I'd rather go spend more time with them. Their whole thing was pretty rushed, and while I have a small feeling that they'll be part of the patch storylines, I'd liked if we had been given a bit more time with them before things went to hell again.

Heritage found, Solution 9 and all that was better paced and the storytelling there was great! Like seeing one of the npcs forget about the old dead lady within seconds felt very horrifying. Shu and Nana haven't gotten that far yet (I finished the story on my own after returning home), but I remember spamming groupchat with "what the fuuuuuck that's so fucked" and stuff like that lol. Attack on Tuliyollal too, I think I have a few screenshots saved of npcs I noticed crying after dead loved ones on the streets right after it. Devs did great job portraying how scary the entire thing was.

What else uhhhh.... oh right the last area. Absolutely gorgeous again, and I do get the lore reasons, but damn does it suck having the areas go all lifeless if you want to finish story. I was looking forward to taking pictures there in the future :/ I did try and take some quick shots everywhere before going forward, but I'm sure I missed something. Probably have to get new game+ to that point when DT gets added there just for more screenshot locations.

This is already getting long but idc I'm rambling about characters too. Erenville sweet baby boy I am so sorry the entire last half became a personal nightmare for you (┬┬﹏┬┬) But we got to see him smile! Like actually smile not just tiny smirks! (I should have screenshot of that too lol) They better not write him completely out after this, I wanna go on adventures with him - something that doesn't leave him traumatized maybe.

Also pushing every Wuk Lamat disliker out of the way to hang out with her more. She was a very fun character, and I loved the fact that she actually went and did things on her own, not waiting around for WoL to save her every time like many of the npcs tend to do. She and Hawu'li are besties now.

Green G'raha Koana was a positive surprise too! Smart and a bit snobbish catboy who's bad with his feelings, but makes effort to learn and grow for his people and sister. Absolutely loved him getting very angry when Wuk Lamat was in danger - nerdy cat can go little feral, as a treat. Definitely added into Hawu'li's ever growing polycule - not into his bracelet yet, but they defenitely kissed during msq and probably started (casually) going out after.

Sphene... I really like her dress lol. Uhh I personally felt she was very sus from the start, but I feel like Hawu'li would've not picked up on those. Her plan would've come as complete surprise to him, and made him very very sad. Hawu'li's very "there's always a way if we just try hard enough" type of person, and being told that it's either having everyone else in the universe die or having the Endless die would've seriously got him feeling down for some time. Being a WoL means killing people to protect others sometimes, he knows that, but still. Luckily he had people there with him, who will keep supporting him, but he'll most likely need a little vacation after all this. (Luckily the Tuliyollali inn room is perfect for that haha)

Aaaand lastly, some random thoughts all tossed in no particular order since I can't ramble in the tags:

Got killed by Zoraal Ja for whatever reason?

Tiny jumpscare when milalla lore started saying stuff about "calamity that froze everything" and "came from somewhere else" and I, for a tiny second, feared they'd give some canon lore regarding Sixth and I'd have to go rewrite bunch of things in my own lore for the place. (luckily saved by msq mentioning the most likely came from source)

Happy that they gave us the alpaca mount for free! It's so adorable.

Sad that I had to use 7,5mil gil to get the purple bike mount 😑 I mean Hawu'li is swimming in money since I rarely buy anything (last "big buy" was that golden sheep), but muh money. At least it's a neat mount

"En Avant saves lives" is true for the whm dash skill too. That skill is the best thing we've gotten in ages, it's saved me so many times when I notice I'm in wrong spot at the very last second.

In the beginning he would not really notice that your younger sister didn't like him. He was too focused on you specifically and figuring out the stuff with the Crystal Tower. However, when he summons your friends, you and your sister to the first, he sees it. When you ask him if he'd seen someone named 'G'raha Tia' in the tower, she'd scoff and go on a bit of a tangent. He had no idea that she hated him...or how much he had hurt you. As you can imagine, his hood blowing back, revealing his identity didn't go over well. No, your sister was ready to punch him out especially while you struggled on the floor, suffering from all the light you had absorbed. Thancred had to physical restrain her. But as the knife came out, so did three men. She was surrounded. Fuck. She should've left sooner. Called for a carriage. Anything. Anything aside from walking home alone. God, she didn't want to die like this... She could handle one, even two. But five? She'd start thinking of goodbyes to family if there was any left.

Two hands wrapped around her waist and she felt breath and a tongue on her neck. A knife at her back sliced easily through her dress. Her blood felt like ice, and no matter how badly she wanted to scream, she was moved to unfathomable discomfort.

"Out here walking around like a wagtail and acting like you wouldn't put out when I stuff my—"

"I'm not your fucking prostitute!" She drove her switchblade hard between the man's ribs. If she went down without a fight, she'd never forgive herself. She was outnumbered and surrounded, but no man would put his hands on her like that without a consequence. Even if she got her throat slit for it.

"Why you fucking CUNT!" The man screamed in a blind rage.

But as he reached to grab her throat with his meaty, thick hands, Amaryllis watched in blind shock as the man's right hand was severed before her very eyes. The blood spurted from his veins, covering her face, as both she and the man screamed. He let her go. She slipped out of his sweaty grasp and right into the arms of another drunkard. She began to struggle again, pulling her wrists hard and trying to land blow after blow into the man's shins, when a voice rang out.

"I think the lady said she wasn't interested."

The first man was on the ground, gasping for air from her stab wound and clutching his detached hand as another figure joined the fray, which caused every man to freeze. Even the man holding her arms let her go.

As the group began to back away from her, Amaryllis ran through the clearing. Straight toward the figure everyone was backing away from. He did not welcome her into his arms, but he did stand protectively in front of her.

"If I find that any one of you vazey, pigeon-livered ratbags lay so much as a finger on her again, I'll cut your entire fuckin arm off."

She had never been so happy to see that familiar scarred face.

Speedwagon walked forward, picking up his bowler hat that he had thrown. Glinting from the moonlight, she noticed the saw blades hidden in the rim of his hat. The very same object that had severed the hand of the terrible man who had just assaulted her. Speedwagon dusted off the hat and returned it to his untamed mess of hair.

He let out a sharp whistle, and many other figures surrounded the group from all sides until they proved ready to stand down. Speedwagon knelt on the ground beside the man who had tongued her neck, pressing one of his blades against the man's lips. All the man could think to do was whimper and writhe as he lost blood. There was fear in his eyes as he looked at Speedwagon. The same fear Amaryllis had held just moments past.

"I'd suggest you run as far as you can if ya know what's good for ya." He whispered, though the entire surrounding alleyway could hear the way he bristled on every word. "The only reason you're still breathin is because I have a lady to attend to instead of dirtying my knife on your filth."

When he next got to his feet, he walked slowly back toward Amaryllis, and the gang of rogues immediately scrambled to their feet and began to sprint away, one pouring blood from his hand.

A second, short whistle rang out, and suddenly, the other men Speedwagon had called forward ducked away. Amaryllis had a strong suspicion where they were headed.

As soon as she knew she was in the clear, Amaryllis's strong facade dropped. Her arms expanded outward before she even knew she was doing it, and Speedwagon pulled her close to his chest, where she began to sob. Her knees felt weak like jelly, her heart working in double time to pump the sheer adrenaline through her body.

She hugged him so tightly, gripping fistfuls of his long coat as she cried against his shoulder. He murmured to her gently.

"Ah, miss...," he whispered to the top of her head. "I wish one day we could meet under better circumstances." He let out a soft chuckle. He seemed unbothered by the way she held onto him so tenderly, though physical affection was truly few and far between for him.

"He didn't hurt ya, did he?" He asked softly, pulling her back just enough to check her over. Her dress began to slip off from where it had been sliced, and she hurried to pull it back into place.

"Oh, no worries about that, love," he said calmly. "Oi, Tattoo! Give a lady your jacket, would ya?"

A large, burly man with red hair and a scruffy beard came forward, shedding his coat. The large blue tattoo covering the upper half of his face must have been the reason for his namesake. He handed it to Speedwagon, who quietly unfolded it and draped it over her shoulders.

"Is she the one?" Tattoo asked Speedwagon under his breath. Amaryllis felt a little nervous knowing he must have talked about her at some point.

But Speedwagon softened. "Yes, she is. The one who patched up this old thing with the patience of a saint. It's like she had magic in her hands."

"More like I had a friend who always needed patching up, so I had a lot of practice." she said nervously, with a half laugh.

"Don't sell yourself short," he commented softly, fastening the coat around her so she wouldn't feel indecent. "Could I walk you the rest of the way home?"

"I would really appreciate it, actually." Amaryllis admitted sheepishly, hanging her head a little. She had been on her own for so long, having someone to guard her felt a little strange.

"See to it, men!" Speedwagon called out, and the remaining few formed up around her. Speedwagon offered his arm to her, which she took as they began to walk.

"I told you before, I wouldn't let a man lay a hand on you." His eyes cast down toward the severed hand in a pool of blood on the road. "And this is the consequence." He stepped over it.

"That's... very kind of you, but... why?" Amaryllis asked, holding his elbow delicately. "Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate it, but... I made a very stupid mistake coming here, and it would have killed me. You didn't have to step in to help."

"Hm, that sounds strangely familiar, don't it?" Speedwagon mused, a small smile on his face. "You took me in when you knew nothing about me, healed me up, and showed me kindness. Far as I'm concerned, I'm in your debt."

"Ohh, now don't say that. You're not indebted to me. If anything, this right here makes us even."

"It may make us even, but that doesn't mean I'd like it to be the last time I get to meet ya."

She gave a half hearted chuckle. "Please don't get another face scar just to see me again."

Her face was beginning to break into a smile, showing that she felt comfortable and safe around him.

"Ahh, there she is." Speedwagon beamed proudly. "Theres the gigglemug."

Amaryllis, despite herself, found her smile growing even wider, and color dusting her cheeks in the moonlight.

"Oh you certainly know how to flatter someone, Mr. Speedwagon." She waved him off. But the compliment made her feel better. "You're quite kind for a man who gets involved in this sort of trouble."

"There's a certain honor code within my people. Kindness is not often shown, so when it is, we keep it safe. Your kindness is well known in Ogre Street. And my boys here will remember it. Kind hearts get protected around here. And even criminals like us know better than to go for women. And around here, people listen to me. Or face the consequences."

Amaryllis really didn't know how to react to that. She'd just gained the favor of an entire gang of criminals. So as she approached her front porch, she did the only thing she could think to do.

"Would you like to come in for some tea?"

She made a point to not just address Speedwagon, who's arm she was still holding, but his group of thugs as well. They had all been there to rescue her, and it was because of them that she was alive. They had all earned it.

"Oh, miss, we couldn't intrude." Tattoo spoke up from a few feet behind the pair.

"Its not an intrusion. I'm inviting you in. It's a cold night, and you've saved my life."

Speedwagon turned to look back at his gang. "Didn't I tell ya?" And the men just smiled and nodded, like there was something Amaryllis didn't know.

There was much hesitation on their part before coming in, and for a group of street thugs, they were all quick to remove their dirty shoes and hang their coats and hats. Speedwagon even left his hat near the mat, because it was still bloodied from severing a hand. Amaryllis didn't think twice before putting on a kettle.

As she waited for it to boil once more, she strode into her living room, untying the jacket and carefully shrugging it off as she handed it back to Tattoo.

"Thank you for letting me borrow this," she said kindly. The large man was seated uncomfortably on the couch. He seemed so out of place in her well-kept home. He was drawn in, like he was trying not to touch anything as he sat and waited. Clearly, he was not invited for tea often, let alone by the kindness of a woman.

In fact, it seemed like everyone except Speedwagon seemed unfamiliar with such nice surroundings. For Thugs, they certainly had good house manners. There were five of them in total, including Speedwagon, and she set out the cups accordingly.

"Cream and sugar?" She asked, her voice sweeter than the sugar she offered. There was silence. An unfamiliar silence. They looked back and forth before Tattoo coughed a little, awkwardly breaking the silence.

"Sugar for me."

And slowly, the others started nodding in agreement.

"Cream, please."

"I'm fine without. Thank you."

Speedwagon looked at all of them with a strange sense of pride. He was happy they had come to respect her the same way he had. They were seeing firsthand a genuine kindness, and Amaryllis was simply being herself.

The group drank their tea politely, or as politely as the men could manage, and Amaryllis didn't mind. She hadn't been looking for friends like this or any sort of attention, but it seemed they didn't mind her company either.

She asked then about themselves, learning that Tattoo was from Scotland and his real name was Cormac. He had gotten his tattoo at age 18 from a street vendor behind a whiskey shop. There was also Finley, Edward, and Connor who had accompanied Amaryllis home, and she listened intently to everything they said. The more they talked, the more they seemed to open up. Clearly not many people asked about their personal lives, or were gutted before it happened.

Amaryllis was a fantastic listener, always sure to pay attention. She wanted them to feel important, because she knew full well she'd be dead without them.

"And what about you, lassie? Why are you so interested in a few thugs like us?" Finley had asked.

"Well, to be honest, I'm in London trying to track down my friend who went missing. The last place he was spotted was near here, and I'm not entirely sure he's dead. This necklace I've got, this was the only thing we could find from him. Alexei. He was the one who taught me to fight. He even patched up my own scar the way I patched up Speedwagon's."

"Well, if we hear any signs of him, we can spread the word. News travels fast between us." Connor nodded curtly.

"I would greatly appreciate that. You've already done so much for me."

As Speedwagon tipped his head back to drink the last remains of his tea, he set down his cup and gave a nod.

"Cmon, boys. We'd best be off. We can't take up too much of Miss Amaryllis's night."

"Oh, you're never a bother. It's been so long since I've had company. Are you sure you'd be safe walking home?"

Speedwagon had the look of utmost flattery on his face. He couldn't believe she was trying to look out for him!

"I think we can handle, dear. We've been out here a while."

"Well, if you're sure." She smiled at him.

Speedwagon gave Tattoo a kick on the leg as a signal to get up, and the gang got to their feet.

Each of then tipped their hat or nodded as they filed out, and she was met with a chorus of "Thank ya, miss."

To which she smiled and replied, "Any time, gentlemen. I should be thanking you."

As they stood there in the doorway, Speedwagon shot them a sharp look. "Boys. A moment." And they all seemed to understand, walking out and standing guard outside so Speedwagon could talk to her separately.

Although Amaryllis trusted Speedwagon and felt probably too comfortable around him, there was something about standing in her doorway alone with him that had her bristling with anticipation. She wasn't even sure what she was anticipating, but simply standing there so close to him sent the heat to her ears and the back of her neck.

"I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to you last time. I hope you didn't think I was too terrible. I wanted to slip out unseen. In truth, I didn't want rumors to start about you. A young lady like yourself letting a criminal like me shack up at your house... You know what the people would say."

"They can say what they want, I don't give a damn. I was worried about you."

"I... didn't realize I made you so worried. People... especially people like you— Young and vulnerable ladies, I mean... don't really give a rat's ass about what happens to me."

"I'm just happy to see you up and moving. Your scar is healing nicely."

While it was still fresh and a deeper red color, it had sealed up and thankfully did not look infected.

"It hardly even hurts any more." Speedwagon traced his fingers along it. She hadn't realized she'd taken a step closer to him to see. And while Speedwagon wasn't a very tall man, he was still taller than her, and the way he looked down at her as he showed off her scar really made her palms sweat. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear for lack of something else to do with her hands.

"You seem a bit poked up, are you alright?" Speedwagon asked as gently as he could.

"Ah—" She didn't realize she'd looked so obviously flustered. She tugged her shawl closer around her. "It's nothing. I'm just running through the events in my head again."

"You don't need to worry about that cumberground bothering you anymore. Anyone worth their salt wouldn't go against Ol' Speedwagon. Not if they wanna keep their heads." He tipped his hat playfully. She smiled shyly at him.

"Next we meet, I will provide the tea." He continued, moving another step closer. Amaryllis wanted to move back a step out of instinct, but found that the closer he got, the closer she wanted to get. He smelled like whiskey, matches, and sweat, but the good type of sweat. With a hint of cinnamon.

"You're always welcome here," she assured him. "And I hope we can meet again without a life threatening situation looming overhead." She laughed.

Speedwagon moved slowly, bending a little at the waist. Amaryllis could feel her heart rate picking up, wondering what he was doing. He held her hand as he leaned forward, and kissed her on the cheek. She could feel the soft warmth of his quick peck, and as soon as she registered it, he was done, and she was left standing there with her mouth slightly open, all the blood in her body rushing to her ears and cheeks.

She blushed wordlessly at him, struggling to think of anything to say before her shy smile returned.

"I— Speedwagon—"

He let her hand go with a gentle squeeze.

"I'll see you around, gigglemug."

"H-Have a... a good night!"

There was no denying the proud grin on Speedwagon's face, and he laughed to himself. His own face held a little bit extra color as well. He opened the door and headed out with a wave.

She watched them down the street, one hand over her mouth so she wouldn't simply be standing there grinning broadly.

As they rounded the corner, she could hear Tattoo loudly proclaim, "Oi, Speedwagon, what's got you all poked up?" And she let out a quiet laugh at his reply.

"Tattoo, you'd better shut your mouth if you want to keep your tongue attached to it."

Followed by raucous laughter.

And frankly, Amaryllis didn't even care if she had another dangerous encounter if it meant meeting Speedwagon and his wonderful gang of criminals again.

3. favorite line/scene you wrote this year

This is a really hard one, especially considering roughly half the stuff I've written this year hasn't gotten posted yet, but of what's out there-

But Phil- It's easy to tell Philza he trusts him with the way he takes his armor off at the door, with their storage chests mingled together. With the way they fight back to back, covering each other's blind spots. With the way they’ll fall asleep in front of the fire together, limbs tangled, weapons out of reach.

Phil already has his trust, is the thing, out in the world outside their bedroom. There's no reason Techno can't give it to him again here. He wants to give himself over to Phil, to let Phil break him apart and reforge him into something better.

All he has to do is let him.

Soft techza 2 maybe continues to be my favorite of the lot, partially because honor bondage is very hot and I like writing it, and partially because I really loved digging into Techno's feelings about love and trust and what it means to be in a relationship, and I really loved doing that with a couple of characters who don't really have the language for it.

(Yes, I do think this hard about my porn all the time, it's mostly just confined to Katy's DMs.)

Techno, easily. I've had so much fun getting inside his fucked-up little head and trying to teach him about love and being loved in return.

I frankly didn't expect to write any of the things I've written this year, but if you'd told me a year ago that I was about to write tens of thousands of words of an au of a minecraft roleplay where the main characters were catboys, I would not have believed you.

It made me laugh and laugh and laugh and it continues to live in my head rent-free. Absolutely spoiled me for 'do people think the porn is hot, though?'
