royal day 1 impressions: -there’s so much i like and the battle system feels SO much more fun!!!!!! i love the new ammo stuff thats so nice god. - take over is mildly growing on me but i keep switching costumes around preventing me from hearing it lol. ill have to stop that -grappling hook is cool and i like it at times, but i kinda wish it didnt skip the jumping sprawl to the tower of lust. dashing across the castle top with the moon in the background was rad asf. i know its still there and i think you can go either way? but obvi you’re gonna take the quicker route not surrounded by enemies. -will seeds are................ something. i appreciate the SP boost very much and the neat little collectible as i explore all aspects of a palace anyway. but i can totally tell there’s much more to them (see: scrapped palace owner cut scenes lmfao) -the intro sucks. just straight up. colours flying high is....... so gd mid its saddening. the starting rift is great but it just falls flat. the actual animated intro is... alright? not a fan of the clashing aesthetics and the only part that i find “good” is the building smashing bits. the title screen is very cool and i LOVE how smooth joker is when he comes crashing down but.... the rough mystique of the OG is better imo. both the mysterious subway bit and wake up get up get out there; it fit p5′s aesthetics way better and intrigued you without making things too in your face. which is ... the thing about royal i think. it’s going for a different aesthetic thats way more flashy.  -that added kawakami scene was great and added some well needed ‘sympathy points’ to her character until the dialogue options about kasumi came up  😭 i really cant tell if im being too harsh or if shes Really like that. but also i was streaming to someone who’s never played royal or vanilla p5 and they were also put off so fuck it. vindication. so far, if i ignore the sae palace intro bit and all further knowledge i know and i only think of what i know so far... she’s not actually That bad. just... idk unnecessary? im so tired its hard to properly put out thoughts -the extra seasonal stuff is so cool but its really funny that it makes it super easy to tell when something was taken from p5; ie. That One Specific Shiho Scene (you know the one) all the trees are a blinding pink but in that one you can clearly see the trees are green (not a nitpick i just find it amusing) -the sprites have... mostly grown on me but i still prefer the old ones tbh. with the sole exception of morgana’s new set oh my god hes SO CUTE!!!!!!! -uhhhhhhhhh thats all i can think of goodbye

so at first listen it just sounds like a basic pacific nw maybe cali typa accent right. BUT if you listen real close. theres this one vowel sound that he does {in that clip its the 'a' sound in 'answer'. its not a great example but i think it gets the point across okay} and i just. i love it. its like... vaguely european.?? like sorta how you say 'bath' in a posh british accent..? ig...? it does sometimes sound more like... north dublin typa vowel.

anyways. his like speech patterns and delivery reminds me a lot of frank iero. idk. theyre both from the new england area of the us so it makes sense(frank is from nj, sam is from boston). i dont really know how to explain it..? but yeah. like i feel like i cant just like show you one clip of each bc it wont show v well ig idk. but yeah. theres some things where ill wake up in the middle of the night and hear a clip of sam and then be like "when did yt go to a frank iero interview?"
