I've been really enjoying your fic and it got me curious about how your campaign went??? I got the important parts (your Durge denied Bhaal, Shadowheart spared nightsong I think, Astarion obviously didn't ascend) but what else happened? Will we ever see any of the other companions?

Thanks for enjoying the story! I can say with pretty much certainty we won't be seeing any other canonical characters from the game, Jaheira, Minsc and Halsin would have stayed behind in Baldur's Gate, as well as Wyll. My Durge killed Lae'zel early in the game and Karlach also died at the end of my campaign.

Gale's character decided to go after the crown, and while he was the staple fourth member of my party the relationship had always been uh... Tense. This was before they apparently patched out how needy he was, but frankly it made for a really interesting story since i just kind of assumed his character was kind of a creep wearing a nice-guy's face. Also, to be fair, I DID fall for his "wanna see a magic trick" line but that just kindled the fire to my theory that he's actually a fairly manipulative person (and perhaps he's unaware of it). MIND YOU PLEASE that this doesn't mean i don't like his character - honestly i feel like I got a REALLY interesting side of him in my campaign and i wouldnt have it any other way - this was a party composed of the dark urge, Astarion, Shadowheart and GALE and to have us all turn down power and glory only for the goody-two-shoes wizard of the camp to turn kinda evil and power-hungry made for a really satisfying narrative.

... Sorry i ended up rambling about Gale LOL to actually answer the rest of your question, my campaign went like this:

I made a Fighter, champion sub-class, BIG hulking drow because i thought it would be funny. Because i went in blind I started off as a confused homicidal murderer who is a liiiittle weirded out about his urges but he doesnt stress TOO much about it. Is fairly standoffish and distrusting toward all of his companions which made for a weird start. Motivated by gold, killing things, getting this worm out his head and making off-color jokes. Ends up siding with the Tieflings because i also decided that, as a very hedonistic character who thinks we should be lunatics because we want to rather than because a cult is telling us to be, my durge would profoundly hate the absolute. As a male drow he also really hated Minthara so yeah, easy choice there. As mentioned above, I also killed Lae'zel when she tried to murder-suicide everybody.

I wasn't going to fuck anyone, believe it or not, so during the tiefling party i went with Gale because it SEEMED like he just wanted to show me something neat (it ended early because i failed his checks and i guess he can't get hard unless i can cast fireball). Also, at this point even though i made mostly "good" moral choices i *was* still a dick the whole time - despite this, everyone in camp wanted to fuck me BESIDES Astarion, which was so fucking funny and devastating that I decided my Durge would, from that moment on, turn on the charm and the flattery and make it his mission to bang him. So yes, they were manipulating each other. I don't have to explain why that made for a really really fun little dynamic. Also Astarion had to tell me he was a vampire through dialogue instead of biting me and i got to say "yeah duh" which was hysterical.

I finally banged him sometime during the underdark (didn't go to the creche at all) and during Act 2 I followed the same pattern of doing mostly the Good Thing while being arrogant the whole time, I fell into a kind of chaotic-neutral/true-neutral aligment and watched my little homicidal maniac cluelessly stumble his way into a hero's journey. I had also really grown to like Shadowheart at that point after having a really negative first impression of her character and she basically became my durge's best friend. Astarion also grew on me for all the reasons we know and love and he did his confession to me sometime in late act 2. I Never met Araj (though i think i mention her in the fan story only because her interaction is interesting) so I got the dialogue that isn't prompted by her encounter. I also had to "break up" with Gale at this point which boy that sure came as a surprise to me! I also didnt break the shadow curse.

Because I didnt kill isobel (Again, my guy didnt like people telling him what to do or not to do), my little butler guy made me wanna kill Astarion. I SWEAR this happened pretty late in game, maybe even in the first night in baldur's gate which i realize is unusual. Naturally I didnt and I decided that would be the turning point where my Durge decides to not just Go With The Flow of things but actively fight his urge and pursue its root cause. He tried to be more of a good person from that point on which was kind of a clumsy effort lol

He completely antagonized the emperor immediately upon him revealing his true identity, stole the orphic hammer from Raphael's house, betrayed Gortash after setting an "alliance" with him, killed Orin (she kidnapped the orphan and killed her in front of me because i failed the check :| ) stopped Astarion from ascending and helped Shadowheart kill everyone in the house of grief, i let her make her own choice regarding her parents and she decided to kill them. I also encouraged her to not immediately align with the Selunites just because of her past.

I got Astarion the thing that helps him read the necromancy book and i cannot tell you how satifyins it was that, after giving up unspeakable power by killing Cazador, that dude and his little ghoul army basically mauled Orin and her grandad for me practically by themselves while I was down on the floor with 1 health. PROUD OF YOU BUDDY.

Gale spoke to Mystra as well at some point and i swear I NEVER encouraged that guy to take the crown for himself. It was always either "do whatever you want" or "i think thats a shitty idea." At this point my Durge was super sick of him so they had a bit of a crappy relationship which may have something to do with how things turned out.

I betrayed the emperor, released Orpheus and when he asked if any of us wanted to be a mindflayer i went "Fuck No" big time and luckily the guy just did it for me. Chaos ensues, I kill the emperor and the absolute in an epic battle that took me like a whole day. I also killed Orpheus when he asked me to. Karlach died ( :c ) and Gale told me he was gonna fuck off to get the crown. In the final Astarion dialogue I told him we would find a way to get him to walk under the sun again.... AAAAAnd thats it i think? Man this game is huge lmao i swear i wasnt trying to be long-winded.

Tidbits of ATSV That I Enjoyed (Or Alternatively: Just Miles Being The Most Endearing Spidey Ever)

Miles patting The Spot's head after successfully webbing him (I don't see this as condescending, but rather him still engaging with the humanity of a villain like Spot) and ~very assertively~ telling/asking him not to escape.

"I'm like Robin Hood-if he gave to himself."

Miles' spidey senses going off when he arrives late to his dad's party because there's nothing more frightening than Brown parents when they're mad at you. Beware the chancla or correa!

O.k. So we all know there are different versions of the movie out there. You may already know that one of the slight differences is when Miles goes to save Inspector Singh. There's a version where you can hear Gwen's voice in the distant background yelling no! when she thinks Miles gets crushed under the rubble, and there's another where she's silent as she webs to him. Now, I have found ANOTHER version (online) where her shouting is even more at the forefront. She's practically screaming and sounds more desperate, (prolly because it's close to the same way her Peter Parker died so she's reliving trauma) and the fear in her voice is palpable. That one haunts me.

Soooo...It took me a hot second to figure this out. You needed someone who was serious and intellectual enough to keep up so Kalim was thrown out the window (even though I love the opposites attract trope) and you needed someone who cared enough about you as well as wasnt all about themself, so as charming and mature as Vil seems, he was also chucked out the second story...

As I was going through though, I felt that you just really felt at home with the Diasomnia crew. They seem very fitting to how you seem as a person. Very catlike in a way.

I was just kinda comparing you to the characters for the appearance side of the matchup, but in the end I ended on Silver either way. I was going to match you with him appearance wise just because you mentioned you always have bedhead, and given Silver is always falling asleep, I like to imagine that his hair becomes messy at times as well. Not only that, but you two seem like you have similar lengths in hair from what i could tell. I thought it was just a cute little thing where youd look like you both rolled out of bed but Silver has white hair and yours is so dark. Not to mention the silver earings. I once read a headcannon where Silver had a thing for piercings on people and it kinda stuck with me (I cant think of who wrote the post right now though so credit to them-)

While i was going through the similarities in appearance though and what complimented each other, i noticed how well I thought you two would work in a romantic setting as well. You say that you wouldnt want someone that would interrupt you, and Silver wouldn't! I feel he'd let you talk about whatever you wanted, but also wouldnt be too shy or introverted to contribute to the conversation.

Silver is cursed to always be fatigued, and that annoys him, but I imagine you both sitting there and listening to music, or you reading one of your books. Actually! I think he'd love to fall asleep while you read some poetry to him.

I feel Silver would be one of the best characters in Twisted Wonderland to respect physical boundaries. Not to say the others can't, but I feel he wouldn't be too touchy either. Don't get me wrong, laying with each other under the trees would be nice, but he's surrounded by a lot of animals, and you can't move too fast around them, so he's used to being patient and letting you initiate it first.

Overall i feel you guys would just respect each others boundaries very well and would just be a relaxing couple in general.

I mean...he's a lion. If he doesn't want to be touched, don't touch him. If he doesn't want to speak to you, he'll ignore you and nap until you go away. But he's catlike in the sense of he won't respect that boundary of yours. As sucky as it is, he's a lion and a sibling. His job is to annoy you.

She hates herself because she can't even talk to anyone without shaking, can't go on stage, lets people down... and she's bitter toward Rui because she hated that she couldn't do anything about their relationship. Letting people down.

i wanna draw attention to the way she talks about him near the beginning vs after her talk with tsukasa:

Do you see the difference? "he just has to try it out. people avoid him. heres the things hes done" vs "he gets absorbed in his work, and he's alone but i dont think he wants that". One is pointed, the other is sympathetic.

DO I THINK NENE HATES RUI. NO. But that's the thing with her. Her self hatred. she projects it onto others. Like in smile of a dreamer when she snapped at Tsukasa. And rui knows this behavior because he's immediately like "oh you must be worried about emu". because she didnt know what to do.

But then they grow together, and nenes attitude toward herself becomes kinder, and gradually her problems can be shared with them and it all just. becomes better. They Grow. And that's what i love about them. Rui "i've never seen nene shine like that before" kamishiro. Nene "i like your shows" kusanagi. I just i love them so much.

Ruinene i also consume both platonically and romantically but with like. a veer toward romantic. the way i write them is like if theyre dating but i rarely ever establish that fact (like i'll never have them outright say it) unless i'm writing with Explicit Polysho. I jjust. I love them so bad. I write the most for them i. draw the most for them. I love them.

I suddenly remembered the time I was in play school (baby nursery- pre K). I was the kind of kid who used to fight kids to get into the teacher's lap. Like I legit used to cry if someone other than me even tried to sit in the principal ma'am lap. Now I can't stop thinking what if Ateez were Play school teachers with a kid like me💀.

Baby me would be hanging down Seonghwa's neck, fighting kids like a rabid gremlin when they try to get on his lap. I might be a wee bit scared of Hongjoong and Mingi at the beginning though. Joong gives math teacher vibes (hated maths since birth) and Mingi would've been a wee bit scary simply bec he's so tall and a little intimidating at first.

I picture kid me climbing up Yunho like a Monkey on a tree somehow. He's only a lil bit taller than my uncle and I once climbed up to his face and bit his nose. Baby me and Wooyoung would've been besties.

I forgot which post it was but I really love baby Virgil in a dress. If it were to come cannon, what kinds of dresses would Virgil have? Like dresses for babies are normally ruffled/sequined and end around the knees but I can't see Vee enjoying that. But I CAN see Roman being like Charlotte in the Princess and The Frog with a plethora of hand made dresses (only he's probably the one that made them, and most are modelled after the Disney princesses)

i can't see him being confident enough to wear proper frilly sparkly skirts, not just because he isn't confident but also it's not his aesthetic big or small, and the sequins and glitter is HELL on his skin

so i think virgil is only going to wear his family's big sweaters and tops for now, it's as close to a dress as he will let himself go and theyre very snuggly for baby vee

but if it were to be addressed and he was reassured enough to be comfy to present however he likes, probably little pinafore dresses.. like these

i can see vee liking the pastel tartan, and i'm such a sucker for vee in white.. like with a purple sweater under 🥺 and just tell me vee wouldnt be ECSTATIC to have tigger and pooh on his dress

when he's little he actually lets go of his obsession with his appearance though!! he wears shorts and tshirts and sneakers or just bare feet because it makes it easier to run around, it's actually a healthy way for him to not be so dependant on his outward presentation to feel a sense of self-worth!

BUT i have said before that roman sometimes wears a tutu over his shorts just because he feels like being twirly one day - also whenever he does dance performances for his CGs he always wears it

my day yesterday was okay, i've just been relaxing, and studying occasionally. went out to explore a nearby town too, it's so pretty there. and much colder (since it's a highlands) of course!! The music is loud, the people are dancing, and I’m sitting alone with a beer in hand. Maybe I should just go home. Nothing is keeping here, I’ve made my appearance. I’m even wearing the clothes they gave me. It was a small red dress (not suitable for the weather) with a black fur coat and matching platform boots. It’s not bad and I do enjoy a party but it’s only fun when you have some good friends to drink and laugh with.

The “friends” I came here with disappeared as soon as we walked in. It’s not like I care, I just need someone to talk to. Everyone in my social circle is fake to say the least. How I ended up with them was an accident but not one I regret. A few months ago I was approached by an agent, he said I was exactly what he was looking for. Now I know that I’m not what you would typically see in a magazine so I decided to humor him and I gave him my contact information.

I then did some research and I found out that this company he was hired for, makes sales by degrading women with different body shapes. They loved to grab random women stand them next to a typical model to promote their products. I was pissed, so when he called to confirm my availability I accepted. I was gonna blow them out of the water. I went all out and entered the studio like the queen I am. The agent was fuming, he told me that I would have to change but before he could say anything else, I was approached by the head designer.

“I love your look darling. Not what I was expecting but its bold.” This lady caught me off guard but i wasn't gonna let her know that. “Well I’m planning on being your cover so I thought I might as well dress for the job.” I smirk. I can't tell what she's thinking so when she starts telling people to prep me I was happily surprised. Not more than a couple months later I was their top model and the designer’s clothes were flying off the racks. I did exactly what I set out to do, empower other women.

It wasn't easy though. I had men and women approach me because of my title. These people who claimed to be my friends were just trying to further their careers. I caught almost all of them talking crap about me more than once. But I entered this expecting backlash so I never let their comments get to me.

Now I'm at this party, alone, making a paid appearance. I was bored, if I left I wouldnt have anything to do. So instead I look around for someone to talk to. I find someone sitting alone. He looks just as bored as I do. I finish my drink and order two more. Next thing I knew I was standing in front the guy.

“Hey, mind if I sit with you?” He looks up and smiles. He welcomes me and turns to face me. Now that I’m up close I can his face clearly. I take in every detail, his long brown hair, big brown eyes and shy smile. He wasn’t dressed up but still he had me smitten.

“Not at all, is that for me?” He tilts his head the side. “Yep, you looked like you could use it..” he chuckles and we lock eyes for what seemed like ages. He smiles a little wider. “So what brings you to a place like this?” I ask him. “My band. We performed at a pub about an hour ago, my bandmates wanted to celebrate. So our lead singer dragged us here.” I smile, “Tell me more.”

We talked for hours, he told me about his band, Queen, his band mates, the instruments, the performances, his amp.. Just about everything. I saw his face light-up as he spoke. He loved his friends, even though they tend to bicker... A LOT. He was a breath of fresh air in a roomful of cheap perfume and smoke. I wanted to know more about this man.

“Why don’t you tell me about you love?” I felt butterflies as he said love and I could feel myself blush. “My name is y/f/n. I moved to London about a year and a half ago and I’m model. That’s about it.” He looks shocked, made he doesn’t believe you. Most people don’t. I’ve had people call me a liar and attention seeker when I tell them. I don’t look like any of the traditional models but I work my ass off to change people's opinions on beauty ideals.

“I mean no offense love,” here it comes, I dread these moments. “but what are you doing sitting here with me? You’re gorgeous and now that I know you’re also a beautiful model I’m even more surprised, you can have anyone in this entire party! Why are you sitting here with me.”

I’m in shock and get flustered. Im glad its dark in here because i'm as red a my dress. My palms are sweaty, my hearts racing, I feel butterflies in my stomach, and it’s all because of the man in front me. He looks at me like no one else does. I don’t know what to say, so I act before I could stop myself. I kissed him and it feels like the world stopped around us. I felt his hand cup my face and we scoot closer together.

I pull away slowly and quickly look at him. His face is just as red as mine and he has the biggest goofiest smile I’ve ever seen. “So um, I should get going, but here’s my number. Let me know if you’re available anytime soon.” I hand him a napkin with my name and number scribbled on it and I stand up. He quickly stands up with me and grabs my hand, “Let me walk you home.” I intertwine our fingers and I lead us out of the party.

As we begin the walk to my flat he doesn’t let go of my hand. After while both of us are laughing telling each other jokes. Once we reach my door I turn to face him and pull him in for a passionate kiss. I’m flushed all over again and so is he. “We’re performing on Saturday, why don’t you come down to and watch us perform.” I smile, “I would love to.” I open the door to my apartment and the first thing I see is my clock. I stop and turn back to John, “Can I show you something?” He looks kinda confused but agrees anyway. I close my door and lock up.

I grabbed his hand and pull him towards the stairway, once we reached the roof of my building. I take him to the edge and intertwine our fingers. Before he can ask me what we were doing up here, the sun started going up. It was an amazing view, when I look up at him he’s in awe of the skyline. He looks down at me with a soft smile and kisses me. I deepen the kiss and take in every detail. The smell of his jacket, the feeling of his lips, how he made my heart skip a beat. When we pull apart for air, I look into his eyes and thought about how I never wanted this moment to end.
