I, uh- I do reblog things. I have some mental "rules" for what I like+reblog and what I "only" like. You can look through my blog and see I reblog a lot, both with and without tags. And I don't fully agree that likes don't do anything, although I know what you mean; for me, if I receive a like on my post, it means a lot to me. I understand that for others likes may be meaningless and not add any value to their day.

I'm not sure why this ask was sent, but I suspect it might be coming from someone whose posts I've 'liked' a lot, but haven't reblogged much? I sometimes save posts to draft to reblog later; sometimes I just don't want to reblog for whatever reason.

First, I want to clarify that I use anti-Marauders tags not because I created this blog solely to spread hate against them or to harass their fans, but because it’s a general Tumblr rule. For nearly any post criticizing a character, you’re expected to use anti tags, as fans of that character might not want to see critical posts about their favorite. This ensures fans who may not want to see criticism of their favorite characters can filter or avoid it if they choose.

Now, you mentioned that I probably haven’t talked to a “real” Marauders fan, which is why I have anti-Marauders posts. But honestly, I don’t think all fans of the Marauders share the same views, nor is it possible to talk to every fan before making a post. I see a lot of anti-Snape content daily—much of it from Marauders fans—and often get an idea for a post that I decide to share. I imagine most bloggers do this; it’s part of engaging with fandoms online. I try to offer thoughtful critiques when possible, but that does take time. Sometimes, seeing particularly harsh, illogical, or double-standard comments pushes me to post a short, sarcastic response—one that mirrors the style of some of the content I encounter.

Overall, I wouldn’t call myself “anti All of Marauder fans.” Yes, I use terms like “Marauders fans” and “anti-Marauders” tags, but my issue is only with fans who unreasonably hate Snape and mock him (even for things like his background) or who attack Snape supporters, labeling them with hurtful terms simply for supporting him. Another reason I don’t believe the author’s aim here is to highlight Snape’s crimes as a Death Eater is that there are numerous scenes throughout the series discussing Snape’s actions during that time. Yet, we never see any indication or hint from the author that Snape committed serious harm or atrocities while serving as a Death Eater. In fact, in his argument with Bellatrix, it’s mentioned that Snape actively tried to avoid participating in missions. During his planning conversations with Dumbledore, we’re also told that his soul has never been tainted by murder. And in Karkaroff’s trial, there’s no crime or accusation he can use against Snape.

In a recent post you mentioned that safety tools are a means and not an end, and "that misconception is already a massive problem". Could you expand on that?

I have my own feelings about the use of a lot of Safety Tools; primarly, that a lot of groups are focused on *just* implementing them but not do an effort into reducing triggering topics, putting all the weight on a singular person speaking out (Such as with X's and O's), but I'd love to hear your feelings on that matter.

So I may be misunderstanding you, and I also am not sure if you mean X and O cards by X's and O's, but if you are saying the issue is that safety tools require people to speak out...that is actually the thing I think they are good at doing, and I think any tool that doesn't place the weight on individuals speaking out will actually cultivate at best a generic one-size fits all dull table and at worse will be actively less safe.

My issue is a lot of people are more interested in the aesthetic signaling of safety tools - in "being a person who uses safety tools" rather than being a person who actually facilitates a process at their table that creates a safer space. You do not actually have to do a formalized X card or Lines and Veils process; you could just have a session zero conversation that says "hey, if you ever need to step away, or stop the game because you are really uncomfortable with something, that's cool and you should feel as though you are allowed to do this, and if there's anything right now that you know you are uncomfortable experiencing please let me know now so I can proactively avoid having it in the game and other players know not to pursue it; if you'd prefer you can send this all to the DM who will put out an anonymized list." I've had people attack me online for saying that I don't use X cards in virtual games because I straight up won't see them in time, but I tell players they can drop off or ask me to pause or stop; I am actively trying to protect my players by telling them how to signal me, but because it's not The Tool Some Stranger Not At My Table Prefers, said strangers have decided this is a bad thing.

Ulltimately though, and this is crucial enough for me to bold it: it is literally impossible to have a safety tool process for TTRPGs that avoids players having to speak up. Your table cannot read your mind. A card that encourages positive things does not actually help, in my opinion, because the DM still has a story to tell and part of stories is conflict and they can't just keep doing the one thing you like - not to mention that one person's O card might be an X card to someone else. This also assumes a set of for lack of a better term "standard" triggers (ie, many people don't want to have themes of sexual assault in their games; many people have arachnaophobia) and places an even higher burden on people who might have very specific triggers that are often not given the same weight or seen as a problem by most people. Some tables might explicitly want to explore difficult topics. (Related to this, but, I side-eye a lot of highly specific content warnings on shows or books because many of them also assume a very specific and standard slate, and I know people who have triggers that are consistently ignored and not warned for because they don't fit into the Normal Slate Of Things A Nebulous Group Has Decided Are Triggering.)

Safety tools should place the burden on the people at the table to speak up; but they should also serve as a signal that this is a place where you will be respected and listened to when you do. However, even among loving friends, there is no way to make a safe place for yourself without advocating for it. Any safety tool that claims to avoid individuals speaking up is a scam and a lie. But that is not what I'm talking about, I'm talking about people who get mad if you say "I don't use a card system, but I let people walk away without question and I listen to my players' feedback."

Let me clarify – I didn't not assume, I have seen the comments and messages bunch of anons sent me, talking about other readers. I absolutely understand we all have different morals and opinions in any matter at that, especially when it comes to sharing opinions. Anon in their ask shared their unpopular opinion and gave no other context of why they have sent it.

Putting it out simply – people who get it, get it. I'm not saying this as a writer, just a person who becomes a reader herself sometimes – if I don't have anything nice to say, I don't say it. And I absolutely understand this is just my way – I do not force anyone to do it as well. But I can't imagine reading a story and it's not up to my standards, and then giving that energy to open their profile and send them a long paragraph how I think their story is not good because I don't know – the updating schedule, or the story's pace and its length.

Especially since all these people are always around, reading my asks and by now they probably know that I either, don't react to that kind of stuff and if I do, I always just say well this is how I do it and I love writing my story this way. I have spent a lot of time discussing it with them and being very positive.

Sometimes, people are just here to spread negativity and anyone with a sense can probably tell by the way they write their message. It's more about getting offended if their "constructive criticism" isn't agreed on.

And what I want to say by this – everyone has different opinions but it's more about how you deliver it and most importantly, why. There are writers who are willing to change to please everyone's wishes and needs. There are writers who specifically ask – what do you not like about this and this? (And I'm not talking about not liking anything in the stories in terms of characters or what's happened in the story. I'm talking here about critizing writer's way of doing things).

I guess it's just important to be able to tell when to give your energy and if it's needed :)

So summary + thoughts:

Video starts off with defintions on different types of stalking & they say Vivienne has experienced all this kind of stalking. Then goes on to say its 2 individuals doing this stalking and they we the viewer doesn't need to know them, Official_TVC has done a lot of research on them and we should should trust Official & their word without evidence because apparently they retweeted something on twitter & it was a tumblr post thats supposedly exposed Vivienne's siblings, personal things ect. All this is hearsay by you, it shouldn't make the average viewer trust your word. Yes I've seen things but that was from posts I've seen.

Aside -honestly Official should be questioning the anon asks we get on here, some of the asks contain some questionable info like how do you get that info. People get asks on here containing info, people don't go out & hunt all Vivienne's private life, we receive stuff thats how things come to light, OTHER PEOPLE SEND US STUFF.

All the background of the video is helluva boss/hazbin scenes coupled with music from respective shows. No evidence, not even heavily censored evidence to protect Vivienne, just Official_TVC talking & basically saying "trust me bro I did research, believe me". Wtf does that mean, who has this never ending stream of feeding misinformation to other YouTube, who & wtf are you talking about.

Goes on to say everyone ragged on Viv because hazbin hotel is on Amazon, Amazon is bad & quote by Official_TVC is cos "everyone looks for an excuse to hate". Ok now I'm giving evidence on why people ragged on Viv for prime since you give jackshit.

Hey gamers/modders, I been thinking about something and wondered what people's opinions are.

As someone who qualifies as 'old' by internet standards (over 30) and recently just read this article about Square Enix having to implement a 'customer harassment policy' - and I mean harassment from players/customers towards Squex staff, it got me thinking.

I have been gaming a while. A long while. And I really feel like about a decade ago, this shit would be considered 'rare' enough that it was uncommon. Now gamedev and even modders are facing harassment from players on a daily basis to the point policies like THIS are having to become a thing, like ....? Like I can point to SEVERAL cases of this in recent years, like how a lot of the BG3 devs and even VA's have been treated and harassed by fans with the expectation of somehow 'continuing' a closed-story-rpg-game indefinitely. The Sims 4 modding community is riddled with drama that I have not seen in any other modding space - at least to that level. Like I know incidents of prominent modders being fucking doxxed because they weren't IMMEDIATELY available to patch for a Sims 4 update (and the Sims 4 is honestly kind of notorious for frequent updating).

Like not to be a 'kids these days' person, but idk, there's only one group entering the wider gaming scene over those 10 years and that's Gen Z. I mean yeah, there's a decent argument towards the growing dominance of web 2.0 (basically your social media sites) that could have fostered an environment for 'anonymous harassment' but I find that hard to believe.

Growing up with games and discovering mods for the first time, I definitely learned to appreciate the hard work modders put in, out of their own time, to make a mod and share it with people for free! We also had to live through a lot of game releases where 'day one patch' was NEVER a thing, and gamedev delays were acceptable because of this - you wanted that game to work on release because you weren't going to GET a patch in most cases. Internet couldn't handle it. Now instead, we have games releasing in early, busted states with a day one patch because you've got some people sending death threats to developers if they mention another delay (Cyberpunk 2077 is a good case for this one).

I dunno. Is it just because I'm old and my priorities are different? I don't have the energy to burn on harassing devs? Because I grew up with games in a different manner than the current gen in gaming?

You are a person and that's what matters.

There shouldn't be a discussion on whether or not it's okay for people to be happy, live, have rights or have those rights be respected. No one needs permision to exist.

The only people who can give their opinion about your relationship are you and your partner. The only person who decides what you can and can't wear is you. The only one who knows your gender is also you. How or who you have sex, kiss, marry, live with or love is nobody else's business.

The LGBTQIA+ community is for people who aren't allo-hetero-cis. That means that if you aren't all three, allo, hetero and cis, you belong here. This is a great time to show support, because the attention is on this topic. Take this chance to educate (yourself and others) about sexual and gender identities. Do your research, talk to people in the community. Always be respectful. Ask if it's okay to ask questions, always making sure what you're asking about is something you wouldn't be uncomfortable answering to yourself. Go for general questions ("what does it mean to be [insert identity here]?", "why is [insert topic/person/action here] problematic?", "what can I do to show support?") instead of personal ones, unless the other person says they're okay with it. Remember that everyone (LGBTQIA+ or not) dresses, has relationships, talks, looks, feels and lives differently: we're all just people. If it is not your business when talking to an allo-hetero-cis, then it's not your business when talking to LGBTQIA+ people either.

It is okay to not know. As long as you're willing to learn and educate yourself, to be respectful, and to acknowledge past mistakes, it's okay. I don't know everything, but if you have any questions, I can try to answer them. Send me an ask and I'll do my best.

To any LGBTQIA+ person reading this, I know this month can be complicated. Keep in mind you don't owe anyhting to anyone. The most important thing is for you to be safe. The next most important thing is for you to be comfortable. You deserve to have both and so much more. Yes, the Industry takes advantage of Pride Month to sell stuff and look good. We can use it for visibility anyway. This is your chance to speak up if you're in the right place to do it. With that said, why are you responding to posts or asks that talk about blatant shattering of other gems? Real SU fans don't immediately go "death to the enemy." It's not rude at all! And it's a great question! One I understand the reasoning of.

But I have my own reasoning for doing the things I do.

Mainly, I think that while ignoring SOME behaviors is definitely good.... talking about OTHER behaviors actively is the fastest and healthiest way to immunize the greater community against them.

Let me explain.

I've been in this fandom a long time now, and I agree with you - there's a solid possibility, a real chance that whoever sent that message is just a passing non-fan who decided to be weirdly edgy in my inbox. No big deal. It happens.

But in my experience, the SU fandom is.... wide and varied. There are people of all ages, and many opinions. It would be easier, of course, if the only 'true fans' were those who perfectly understood the show's themes. But to me, that veers dangerously close to a No True Scotsman type of thinking. The reality is that many different people watch SU. And while many of them do inherently agree with the message and understand the nuance, many more just watch the show because... they like the surface level graphics and cool fights and interesting worldbuilding. In fact, many of the show's fans are edgy teens (sorry edgy teens) who are in a life-stage where violence and being strong and cool and decisive in a morally black and white manner is the only way they can possibly imagine solving any problem. And... that's kinda the opposite of what SU teaches! But that's also the point. SU teaches those things on purpose.

And yeah, I can absolutely just ignore this part of the population. But ignoring a behavior does not actually make it go away 100% of the time. If a child in a supermarket comes up to you and starts smacking you with a wooden spoon from Aisle 4, then... sure... you can ignore them and see if their parent comes to get them, or they go away, especially if it's a very small child and they're not hurting you a lot.

But that's not the only option. You can ALSO opt to teach them - and any other spoon-wielding children watching - what COULD happen if they are crude or cruel to a stranger in public. Namely, you can snap 'stop it' and at the very least glare at that child. This is a lesson that will arguably teach them more about the interaction than a complete lack of reaction would.

Now, I'm not saying people who send me asks are all children and I'm doling out some moral lessons here. This is just a metaphor.

I'm simply a person in a social space (tumblr) who is driving my own blog. And while I DO ignore a very large part of cruel/rude asks I get (trust me, I do ignore many!) I sometimes also just post a reply to show what ELSE could happen if you say a borderline silly and arguably tonally inappropriate ask to a person. You could get replied to! In a sarcastic or snappy manner!

And maybe - just maybe - the other people reading my blog can learn something from the experience, and think 'ah, so doing it like THAT will maybe make people kinda annoyed, now I know and will not do that'.

I cannot deny that overall I agree with you, though. I don't think that these types of messages deserve attention on the regular. But I'd hope that my replies to these things are not really... regular. I ignore probably... 80% of these sort of things? I guess maybe it just feels like a lot less, since, well. The public ones are 100% of the ones you get to see!

You must write an introduction to the ship, where it's made clear who they are and why do you ship them. Whether you include spoilers or not is your decision, but I'd prefer if you did go in depth and at least briefly described your ship's canon interactions.

Non blood-related ships are allowed, but fauxcest (think they're related but are not) isn't. And, just my personal preference, I can't stop you, of course, but I would really like to hear about blood-related ships more. AU ships, OC x canon, selfships etc. are also not allowed! (Forgot to add, but real people ships are very not allowed, but historical fiction is - for example, if you take Cesare/Lucrezia, you should specify which fandom are they from, but NOT real life Cesare and Lucrezia. That was an example, you can't take this ship obviously)

You can include your opinions, headcanons, meta, screenshots, whatever you want really, and if you don't want to, that's okay too, but make your introduction interesting to read. Basically, sell your ship to me 😁

I don't like many of the authors' decisions here – sometimes their tropes, sometimes their choice of how they present events, dialogues, sometimes their characters, relationships between them or their appearance. It's not a bad thing. I have a right to feel this way.

But I would never tell them about it. Not because I don't have the courage to do it but because it would give them nothing, nothing good. You criticise when someone asks for it – when someone doesn't, then you should keep quiet.

Why? Because perhaps someone does not want this criticism and it's their right too. I, for example, don't care and I don't want to know how much someone dislikes something in my work. I don't need the fake appreciation of others, just as others don't need mine.

If I don't like someone's stories, I just leave them alone. God bless all of them! Write and be happy.

No one here is an oracle or judge, and some people feel that way. If you don't like what the authors are writing and their choices, give them a holy peace or else all you'll achieve is that they'll be discouraged from writing – they'll think: maybe nobody wants to read this after all, look at my characters, maybe it's pointless, maybe everyone thinks about me and my writing this way.

Sowing doubt and passive humiliation is very popular here for some reason and I find it incredibly annoying. People don't know when to shut their mouths and when their private opinion to which they are, after all, entitled hurts others, making them uncomfortable.

Our right to free speech should not cut someone's wings and mock them. This is an expression of disrespect and basic culture.

Not everyone has to want to change, to develop if it is not their profession but a simple hobby.

Anonymity does not make malicious gibberish sound any smarter, and a large audience or reactions under posts does not make anyone entitled to post an opinion in which they criticise works of others for their choices.

Why these OC's are so boring? Reader insert is just for you because you are desperate to fuck. Why do your OC is fat? Why do your OC is slim? You say – you don't agree, don't read, I have a right to my opinion. Well, I say: your right does not absolve you from thinking about the feelings of others.

You are hypocrites. You cry and make a hiatus when someone sends you a nasty anon writing that you write crap, but you devote 2,000 words on your blog to why a certain trope doesn't make sense, why other authors don't have a right to make their OC's look the way they want.

What you write is not private, it's public. Who are you writing it to? Is it an expression of your frustration? Those you write it about can read it. They may feel very, very bad about it, they can think to stop writing at all or make themselves to do something against their will. But that's not your concern anymore, right?

Taking responsibility for your own words only when it's convenient for you is an expression of immaturity and that's what I see in this fandom – most people here are afraid of adulthood and the clash with it. Because in adulthood everything we do has consequences to face.

But it's easier to say that we simply have the right to express our opinion, no matter how hurtful and unfounded it may be.

I want to be clear – I will see anyone reblogging or write this kind of posts – I will block them. Even if I like you, if you are with me for a long time. I don't want to see this kind of toxic behavior on my wall ever again. Enough is enough.

These are cartoons. Works of fiction. They're not real. Please keep any deep-seated obsession with character's ethnicity, sexuality, age, background etc to yourself. Acting holier-than-thou and making that the subject of your personal issue with my posts doesn't make you a hero, nor is that the groundbreaking opinion you think it is, it just makes the jokes awkward and uncomfortable for many people here.

Since I've been in the tnmn fandom for a year already, I really want to talk about some problems I have with the fandom.

Now, I love this fandom and the people in it! I've made really good friends and met the sweetest people ever! Buut I've noticed some toxic traits about some parts about the fandom. I've even made other blogs talking about some. Just know this post is NOT targeting any accounts in particular. But if you see any accounts that have done anything I've talked about, PLEASE DON'T HARASS OR SEND HATE TOWARDS THEM!! Just kindly inform them that what their doing is wrong and maybe they'll understand.

With that out of the way, here's my yap session. It's pretty long so... yeah

1. People forcing headcanons and ships upon other people in the fandom.

I kinda noticed how some people are salty about headcanons and ships. So they'll spread a lot of misinformation (fake screenshots, hacking the wiki page, etc) about characters. I've mainly seen this here on Tumbler and on the TNMN wiki. And... ugh... people in nachosamas Instagram comments begging him to make a ship canon. Even though he's said before that no ships are canon.

Moral of the story, please don't force people to like your headcanons or ships. Remember, people are going to have different opinions on different headcanons and ships. I was salty about my HCs too, but I learned quickly to learn that people will have different opinions on things.

Also please don't beg nachosama to make a ship/HC canon. He's making a whole reboot to the game. I'm positive the last thing he cares about is ships. (I'm not saying you can't ship anything. We can ship whatever we want as long as it's not problematic!)

2. Not censoring or poorly censoring nsfw art

I made an entire rant post a while back about this topic, and thankfully, for the most part, some people have heard me loud and clear. Of course, there's still uncensored stuff on here and on every platform ever, but that's just the harsh reality of fandoms. Nsfw art has and will always exist. I just think it's important for the artists to be mindful that minors are also using the app, and they shouldn't need to be exposed to that stuff. Maybe they can make a private nsfw account if that's better.

3. Anonymous asks hate

This is a tale as old as time. Some basement dwelling, unhappy, tumbler user really hates an artist. And they have nothing else better to do than harass the artist and send death threats and other threats. And the artist can't see who sent it because they're anonymous. This is a big problem in the tnmn fandom for some reason. And it's can really damage someone's mental health. I really want to find out who's doing this and expose them once and for all. But for now all I can do is dream and be suspicious of some people.

4. A lot of hate towards the self shippers/oc x canon shippers :(

This is mainly on Twitter (no surprises there), but I feel like it needs to be talked about as a tnmn self shipper and oc x canon shipper. I understand if someone ships themselves with a married character (example, afton) and it makes you upset. But you should never harass them over that. If it makes you uncomfortable, just scroll away from it.

Also while we're on the topic of selfshippers, I feel as someone who's nonsharing with some of my f/os (fictional others), if you're nonsharing and you see another selfshipper ship themselves with one of your f/os, please please do NOT harass them. Just block them and continue on with your life. I've already explained my "pinterest incident" and I'd hate for anyone to end up like that person. If you're a nonsharing selfshipper, that's completely valid! But please be mindful about other people and their feelings.
