{ Intro Post }
https://linktr.ee/opolivebranch https://arab.org/ https://wck.org/ my blog supports queer/trans people, people of color, disabled people, and minorities in general. If that isn't fine with you, go somewhere else.
Tumblr media
Hello there, kind stranger! It's nice to see you. My name? Silly fool, I don't adhere to names. You're allowed to call me whatever you like. You can use any pronouns on me (including neos) My age is reserved for close friends only. this blog primarily serves to be a place for me to spout my inane incomprehensible ramblings about pieces of fiction that I really like, as well as the actual analysis post every now and again. If that sounds like something you'd like, feel free to stick around!
Tumblr media
list of media that I really like (+ favorite characters from said media in brackets) - danganronpa despair time [david chiem, teruko tawaki, whit young] - tetro danganronpa pink [kamimura kazutoshi, hiroaki nakamigawa, okazaki manano] - milgram [kotoko yuzuriha, amane momose, haruka sakurai] - lacey games [lacey] - studio investigrave games (favorites are dead plate, cold front, and married in red) [rody lamoree, vincent charbonneau, winnie bosko, augustine orlov, bok-su go] - the summer hikaru died ["hikaru", hikaru indou, yoshiki tsujinaka] - vivinos' work (mainly her shorts, favorites are tili tili bom, jordan river, and my september. I also like alien stage and pink bitch club) [till, ivan, basically the whole pink bitch club cast] - infinity train (specifically book 3) [hazel, jesse cosay, grace monroe] (there's more, but these are the ones I mostly think about.) list of things that I like in general - drawing - history (especially art history) - analyzing stories and characters - psychology - long video essays (please send me recs) - character design - vocaloid [riproducer, ghost and pals, kikuo, maretu, pinocchio-p, hiiragi kirai, kurage-p, guchiry, deco*27, vane lily, mcki robyns-p, nilfruits] - music in general [the crane wives, sodikken, marina, melanie marinez, nicole dollanganger, mitski, lana del rey, amanda palmer/the dresden dolls, will wood (and the tapeworms), tally hall, chonny jash, jack stauber + more !!] - cool pixel art - pictures of sunsets (+ the sun in general) - learning about + researching new things !! and a lot more !!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
some notes about this account + myself - I try to keep this blog relatively positive (keyword here is try), but I am a very opinionated and passionate person, especially about fiction. It's who I am and I don't try to hide it, so there will most likely be negativity just as there is positivity. - I love talking about my interests and fandoms !! Please send me asks about it :D - I don't tag spoilers - Though it may not look like it since I mainly talk about DRDT and Milgram on here, this is intended to be a multifandom blog and I want to make a bunch of posts about the other media in my favorites bucket soon (once I rewatch them...) Please don't follow me for any fandom specifically lmao - I welcome any critique or corrections of my posts so long as you aren't an asshole about it - I don't condone or tolerate harassing people over fiction, especially fictional ships. I also don't talk about it much, but I do like a lot of dynamics that would be abusive and/or unhealthy in real life. If either of those things make you uncomfortable, feel free to block me (this also means proshippers are free to interact with my blog, if that wasn't already obvious) - I don't have a DNI because I think they're counterintuitive uh. just don't be a dick and like, follow the three fandom laws and we'll be good - I make a lot of kys jokes, joke threats, and jokes about suicide in general, and also a lot of lame sexual humor. I'll make them freely on my blog because it's my blog, but if we're talking personally, please tell me if I'm making you uncomfortable and I'll tone it down. - I can also reclaim the F slur and do use it sometimes, same thing applies. - My favorite kind of media is media that tackles dark and/or uncomfortable themes in an interesting way because I think things of that nature should be discussed, plus it's just fun to read and write about. It's also the reason why I love the horror genre so much, as it gives a space for these themes to be explored without judgement. any recommendations of media that fits this bill is welcome - When I analyze characters, I tend to focus in on their flaws because those are the most fun for me to analyze. Please know that when I relentlessly slander a character, it is simply because I love them <3 - I really like characters who are morally very bad people, but still nuanced and complicated individuals. can you tell I'm a kotoko yuzuriha fan yet.

I post my silly drawings here @drdtappreciation - confession-adjacent blog I made for people to share positivity about danganronpa despair time The only other social media I really use is discord because I hate modern social media culture, but I don't feel like giving that out unless we're mutuals. If we are though, just hit me a DM and I'll send it your way!

Angst prompt 5 and any high&low (apart from Rocky, I'm sorry 😂). Maybe a sibling in a rival gang or something like that..
Glad to see you back again! Sorry its under these circumstances though. Hope your recovery goes as smoothly as possible 💕
Angst #5: "I am here to tell you that I cannot meet you anymore."
Where you and your brother part ways...
“Yoshiki, I...” the words died before they could go past your lips.
You couldn't say it. Repeating the words over and over under your breath had been easy, but that was before you got out of the car and saw him sitting by the river, throwing pebbles at the water. Just like he did when he was little, when things were bad at home and you both had nowhere to go but hide under a bridge while waiting for the worse to pass.
But he wasn't a kid anymore and you had to stop viewing him as such.
“What's going on?” he asked, hands in his pockets and a concerned look on his face. “I haven't seen you in weeks, you don't answer my calls, and then you suddenly want to meet. Are you okay?”
You took a deep breath, gaze falling from his as you said the words, “I’m here to tell you that I cannot meet you anymore.”
“What?” he scoffed, a light smile on his lips as he took a step towards you. “What does that mean?” His eyes flickered toward the SUV parked behind you and his smile died, something akin to apprehension flashing in his gaze. “Sis… what the fuck is going on?”
“I have been offered a job,” you said. “A good one, in the city but I… I can’t be seen with you anymore.”
“A-A job?... But why? We're family!” the pain in his eyes made a knot form in your throat. His gaze flickered back at the SUV and his fists closed by his side. “Is someone threatening you?”
"No, of course not!” You hoped your words sounded convincing, for both your sakes. “My priorities have changed, you're not a little boy anymore.” You gulped, your tone going lower as you directed your next words to the ground, “You don't need me. It’s time for us to grow up and go our separate ways."
“Bullshit!” he exclaimed before gripping you by the shoulders and forcing you to look into his eyes. “Are they making you do this?” he asked, eyes wide. You could feel how his hands shook, and panic flew through you at the possibility of him starting a fight with the person waiting for you in the car. It was a fight he would not win. “Tell me, just say the word and I'll make them regret it!”
“Stop!” you shouted, pushing him back with tears in your eyes. You hated yourself for what you were about to say. “No one is making me do anything! I’m doing this because I’m tired of taking care of you! I’m done dealing with your fights and your childish behavior and your stupid gang! I’m done fearing for the day I’m either going to visit you in prison or the morgue!”
Tears were streaming down your face at that point, your sadness only fueled by how true your words were. Still, that didn’t mean you didn’t love him. That was why you were doing this in the first place. This was the only way you knew how to protect him; if you had to hurt your baby brother for it to happen, then you would gladly do it.
“Goodbye, Yoshiki,” you said as you rushed to turn your back and go back to the car, unable to look at the tears you knew marked his face.
“Neko-chan,” you stopped at the mention of your childhood nickname, rejecting the will to turn back to him and enveloping him in a hug as you heard him cry. “I’m sorry… but please don’t leave me. I-I promise I’ll be good.”
“Yoshi–”
“I’ll stop fighting, and-and I’ll finish school and get a job and–”
“It’s too late for that,” you interrupted, not even having the courage to look at him. “Goodbye.”
I love you, you whispered to the wind as you fastened your pace in direction of the car. You didn’t dare look back, not even once.
You knew that if you did you would take it all back.

I took my own blorbos sorter. The results will shock you!
Tumblr media
...not.
Am I sure about this? Was Korekiyo going to win in every universe? ...Maybe so? GENBU, though...
Until I find out a way to make the rest of those rankings horizontal, they'll have to be under the cut. Please check them out and feel free to tell me if you're surprised by my rankings, based on how much I post about these characters!
Tumblr media
Positions 4 and 5 make sense too. River? Extremely important. Akudama Drive? Rotting my brain.
Tumblr media
Kira8 and Kyon are sharing 9th place. New blorbo VS old blorbo... how should I decide, exactly? They're both good, important Guys.
Tumblr media
And I guess I'm outing myself as having cheered against the Ace Attorney blorbos all along. Does Simon deserve to be placed this low...? Probably not... But it doesn't mean I don't care - again, these are all my beloved blorbos. To think I don't love Sebastian, or Yoshiki... Mayushii, Simon, Hunter........ would be a huge misunderstanding.
I was thinking about Simon today, too... and yesterday.........

Part 5
He dreads the thought of losing those he cares about, especially Yoshiki. He's uncertain whether his thoughts are truly his own or remnants of the old Hikaru's consciousness lingering within him. What he fears most is that he may have irreparably driven Yoshiki away. However, when Yoshiki unexpectedly appears at Hikaru's doorstep on Monday, offering to take him to school, Hikaru is both astonished and elated. To his compounded delight: Yoshiki proposes to cut class and embark on a day of fun together. They visit the movies, savour popsicles, and spend time reading manga. For the first time since Hikaru's transformation, it feels like Yoshiki is making an earnest effort to bring happiness into Hikaru's life, reminiscent of the days of their youth, before Hikaru's apparent demise and the arrival of the new Hikaru. Yet, Yoshiki's intentions take a shocking and brutal turn as he plunges a knife into Hikaru's abdomen. His plan was to grant Hikaru one final day of joy before ending his existence, but Hikaru does not succumb. Hikaru’s physical form does not have the same limitations as a normal human. Overwhelmed by despair, Yoshiki realises that things can never return to the way they were. This new Hikaru will not release him from his grief. Consequently, he implores Hikaru to kill him. Instead, Hikaru chooses to demonstrate his trust for Yoshiki, by giving himself a mortal vulnerability. Reaching into himself, he pulls roughly half of his spirit from his body, and condenses it into a small stone for Yoshiki to keep. With Hikaru’s spirit now ‘small’ enough to be harmed by lethal force, he hopes Yoshiki can trust him. Deciding to move forward as friends, the boys stand before another hurdle: to truly trust each other, they need to know what the-thing-that-replaced-Hikaru was before it became Hikaru. The why and the how already known. Yoshiki takes the fragment of Hikaru’s spirit and decides to help him find out what he really is. During their investigation they discover their little village, called Mount Hope, was once a much larger domain, but near the end of the Edo period, split into the five smaller villages it exists as today. The split was caused by famine, economic strife, and a number of strange, unexplainable deaths. Locals attribute those deaths now to the Lord Brain Snatcher, a malevolent god within the mountainous forest that plagued the people of the domain. But it’s believed to have been trapped within the boundaries of the forest ever since the famine. Like the deaths might have actually been sacrifices in a protective ritual against it. And Hikaru’s family, for centuries, have been the protectors of the boundary. Going into the mountains to conduct a ritual that would keep solid the barrier between the realm of the Lord Brain Snatcher and the human world. But when Hikaru died performing it, and then came back, he brought something back with him. Is Hikaru the Lord Brain Snatcher? Or is he something else? This, as of now, is where the story has left off… We can see Hikaru as dead, possessed by an imposter. But shunning this new creature doesn’t change the fact that the original Hikaru is gone. Alternatively, we can observe this spirit’s intervention as a chance encounter to allow Hikaru to live on. I consider the latter more optimistic. Aren’t people always changing anyway? A person cannot walk through the same river twice — they are no longer the same person, nor is it the same river. What is this possession but another, albeit radical, form of change?  The alternative is that Hikaru stays dead. The lingering question hanging in the air is the mystery of intention. What is this story trying to say? Perhaps it’s as indicative of queer experiences as I’ve outlined — indeed it is focused on a queer character. But how does the author plan on moralising this? What should we DO about the monster? Is the monster even something to be feared? Or is this a looming cautionary tale about ‘mixing’ with the others? This is information we do not as of yet have. Mangakas are notorious for their anonymity — and for good reason.

One way to another Organized by Professor Hongan of the Jodo Shinsen, Hongan, religious autonomy formed by Buddhist monks, samurai, peasants, and merchants. Locally strong religious organizations were formed by the indigenous samurai samurai people who gathered in autonomous rural villages and temples belonging to the Hongan Prefecture sect, which follow the doctrine of "the security of the present generation is to rely on the Hongan and trust in the entourage of the Honganji sect." In 1488 (2 years of longevity), Kato showed its charm to the world by destroying the wealthy parents. At the end of the Sengoku era, until it was healed by Nobunaga Inada, etc., there was a stable bridge built everywhere. Since the main areas of Yokohama, Ise Nagashima, and the Miura Sakura River Basin, were considered to be landmines, it is believed that there was advanced water treatment technology. However, in 1580 (Tenjo 😎, after Yoshiki withdrew from Ishiyama Hongan Station after losing the battle with Nobunaga, the name of Hongan Station was no longer seen because of the division of Hongan Station. In March 1582, the last peak of the Kato Ichinomiya Line, Tsugoshi Castle fell and ended. (Ikkō-ikki (一向一揆, "Ikkō-shū Uprising") were rebellious or autonomous groups of people that were formed in several regions of Japan in the 15th-16th centuries; backed up by the power of the Jōdo Shinshū sect of Buddhism, they opposed the rule of governors or daimyō. Mainly consisting of priests, peasants, merchants and local lords who followed the sect, they sometimes associated with non-followers of the sect. Towards the end of the 16th century, however, their growing numbers and strength caught the attention and concern of the great samurai leaders of the time. Tokugawa Ieyasu worried that sōhei of Mikawa Province would rise up and seize the province. In 1564, his forces, with the help of Jōdo-shū sōhei, defeated the Mikawa Ikkō-ikki in the Battle of Azukizaka).

NEO: The World Ends with You details details Susukichi, Tsugumi, Fuya, Kanon, Motoi, Threads system, shops, more
■ The Reapers’ Game
The Reapers’ Game unfolds in the UG (Underground), a different dimension which bears a striking resemblance to the real world. The Players of the Game form teams and aim to complete missions set out by the Game Master, Shiba. The nature of these missions ranges from solving puzzles to defeating enemies known as Noise, and teams may even find themselves fighting their peers for control of the ‘Buya in citywide turf wars!
The Game lasts for seven days. It is said that the team who racks up the most points over the course of the week will have their wish granted—whatever it may be. The unlucky team who ends up in last, on the other hand, is forced to face erasure.
In the Reapers’ Game, it’s all for one and one for all. Will Rindo and the Wicked Twisters be able to band together and topple the other teams in this struggle for survival?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ Team Battles
Turf Wars: Scramble Slams
One kind of mission assigned in the Reapers’ Game is the Scramble Slam, a citywide turf war that has teams vying for control of various areas around town. Erase all the orange Turf Noise or take down the rival team members in an area to claim that location as your own.
In Scramble Slams, the fun lies in not only gaining control of an area, but also in defeating swarms of enemies to earn even more Scramble Points and exchange them for even better rewards. Chain together battles with regular Noise to max out your point-earning potential!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ Characters: Ruinbringers
Tumblr media
Known as the “strongest team,” everything else about them is shrouded in mystery: The Ruinbringers!
Susukichi (voiced by Max Udell [ENG], Natsuki Hanae [JPN])
“You kids must be the newbies! Oooh, fresh outta the box, ain’t ya?”
Tumblr media
A Player in the Reapers’ Game, and a member of the Ruinbringers. While his impressive physique gives off an intimidating air, Susukichi is actually a bit of a chatterbox, rambling in his surprisingly high voice. Like the discs in beloved Reversi, he views the world in black and white.
Tumblr media
Tsugumi (voiced by Ciara Riley Wilson [ENG], Yuka Ozaki in [JPN])
“I can’t lose… I must fight.”
Tumblr media
A Player in the Reapers’ Game. Although she is a member of the Ruinbringers, she barely interacts with others and does not talk to anyone. Contrary to her waify appearance, she possesses powerful psychic abilities and a perfect record against other Players. The stuffed animal she carries resembles the mascot of Gatto Nero, a new brand that’s all the rage in Shibuya—but her plush pal apparently predates the establishment of said brand.
Tumblr media
■ Characters: Deep Rivers Society
Tumblr media
A group of river enthusiasts whose game-plan is to survive by being cautious and steady-going: the Deep Rivers Society!
Fuya (voiced by Adam Gold [ENG], Yoshiki Nakajima [JPN])
“You can row, row, row all you want…but you won’t go gently down this stream!”
Tumblr media
A Player in the Reapers’ Game who got sucked into the action while taking a stroll in search of Shibuya’s most exquisite culverts. Despite being the de facto leader of the Deep Rivers Society, he is quite cowardly and not one to normally take charge. However, his aversion to conflict is the reason he’s managed to avoid dropping out of the game so far, so his “flight-over-fight” approach has served him surprisingly well. He holds a store-bought map of the city in which he’s hand-marked his favorite culverts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ Characters: Variabeauties
Tumblr media
The super-stylish team with a passion for fashion and a skilled negotiator at the helm: the Variabeauties!
Kanon (voiced by Xanthe Huynh [ENG], Sumire Uesaka [JPN])
“That may work on the other girls, but I’m a little sharper.”
Tumblr media
A Player in the Reapers’ Game and the leader of the Variabeauties. Both kind and captivating, Kanon gives “Rindy” and his teammates a crash course in the rules of the Game. Her beauty also belies a cunning side that reveals itself when the situation warrants. What she lacks in impressive psychic powers, she more than makes up for in wisdom, which has helped her survive the Game thus far.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ Characters: Purehearts
Tumblr media
The social media-savvy team taking the game by storm and using their positive thinking as a weapon: the Purehearts!
Motoi (voiced by Nick Thurston [ENG], Wataru Komada [JPN])
Tumblr media
“I’m prepared to help out, of course! The more people working together, the better the resultat.”
A Player in the Reapers’ Game and the leader of the Purehearts. His winning smile and poetic platitudes give off good vibes only, even though his superficiality and frequent use of “fancy” words can rub some people the wrong way. Nevertheless, his magnetic personality has proven quite attractive, amassing him a large number of followers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ System: Threads
Rindo and his teammates can increase their HP (Health Points), ATK (Attack) and DEF (Defence) by wearing threads. There are five categories of fashion items you can equip: headwear, tops, bottoms, footwear, and accessories.
In addition, threads have abilities that are useful in battle. If the character equipping an item has enough Style, its ability will be activated and its effect unleashed. Spruce up your fashion sense and unlock the true power of the threads!
—There are no restrictions when it comes to equipping threads, so you can make whichever character you like wear any fashion item. However, some abilities will only activate when the corresponding item is equipped by a specific character.
Tumblr media
■ Shops
The city of Shibuya is dotted with a wide variety of shops. There are over 40 establishments to visit, with some selling threads and pins, some providing delicious food and drink, and some offering collectibles like CDs and books.
Each shop attendant is unique, and they reveal a little more of their personality with each visit. Stop by a shop often enough and you might even earn yourself some VIP perks!
—Look for SHOP icons to find places where you can shop and eat! You can also enjoy shopping at stores which exist in the real world such as Taiseido and Tower Records.
Tumblr media
—Pay with the contactless payment system “ShibuPay.” Sell the pins you gain during battle to top up your balance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ Shops and Brands
The style of clothes and accessories in fashion shops changes with each brand. The number of products will increase as you progress through the story and meet various conditions, so be sure to pop into your favorite shops every now and then. A few of the game’s boutiques are featured below.
—There are over 270 types of fashion items. Assemble ensembles around your favorite brands!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Top o’ Topo
Cute and girly clothes that are popular with younger crowds. Has its main store in Harajuku and another branch in Shibuya.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joli becot
A sexy yet stylish brand for women that also features some cool pieces for men. Sometimes called “JB” for short.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tigre Punks
Long-standing punk fashion brand beloved throughout Shibuya. Their edgy designs are tough in many ways.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ Restaurants
Another great thing about Shibuya is its wide selection of restaurants! Choose from a variety of dining options like guilty fast food pleasures, succulent meat dishes, healthy veggie soups, and parfaits packed with cream and fruit. Eating improves your basic stats and is essential for Rindo and his teammates’ growth. If you want to survive the Reapers’ Game, watch what you eat!
—There are over 90 types of food. Savor all the fine dishes Shibuya has to offer!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
—Rindo and his teammates’ reactions during food scenes in the restaurants are also a treat. Their moods are different when they eat something they like versus when they eat something they don’t.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ System: Remind
Fret’s unique psych: Remind!
Fret’s unique psych, Remind, jogs people’s memories and helps them to remember things they have forgotten.
A minigame will start when Remind is activated. Tilt the left and right sticks in the correct positions to reassemble the scattered memory. Put all the pieces in the right place to complete the reminder!
—Use Remind on a Reaper who has forgotten the mission he was supposed to give out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ Locations
Rindo and his teammates travel to all corners of the Shibuya area over the course of the Reapers’ Game. Revisit familiar spots from the previous game such as Tipsy Tose Hall, and discover new locations like Shibuya Stream and the iconic Takeshita Street.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ Pins
Classical Cacophany
A pin that enables the use of “dart bombs,” which shoots arrows that explode after a short time. By shooting a certain number of arrows quickly, a large explosion will occur immediately.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ShoGun: Void
The “entanglement,” which generates a chain in a straight line that damages and restrains the enemies it touches, plays nice with other psychs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Great Volancic Escape
Set a timed explosive at your feet with the “Time Bomb” psych. Figure out when to detonate the bomb and follow up with an attack.
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Bad Things Happen Bingo! The event where you send me I give myself self-indulgent requests according to this marvelous card!
Corpse Party fanfic in 2019, would’ve fucking thought I could go this far in my previous fandom obsessions? Not me, that’s for fucking sure. So, huh... Here is my tribute to the first fandom to have brought me the whump chills.
(not to mention my first whumpy shit was for Corpse Party, so you bet your sweet ass that this stupid franchise is important to me whenever I remember about it lmao. Good horrific, whumpy times from 2013.)
I’ll Be Fine, I Guess
Summary: Sometimes you just happen to get stabbed in the dark corner of a shady alley to save your crush. That's how life is, sometimes.
Fandom: Corpse Party (Everyone Lives AU (yeah)) Ships: Ayushiki (Yoshiki/Ayumi)
Wordcount: 1.3K words
Event hosted by @badthingshappenbingo
AO3 version available here.
That was kind of… unfortunate, he’d have guessed.
Not that he didn’t expect that to happen, at all: it was kind of obvious he’d eventually find himself with God knew what in God knew where and die a painful and ridiculous death. His life had always been kind of ridiculous anyway: he’d obviously not leave the world peacefully with kids and grandkids and whatever the good and lucky people have in their life when they pass away from old age or sickness or whatever.
No, he was going to go out with style (and an end that could have featured in some shitty anime).
Everything about the situation was awkward and ridiculous. They were in some shady back alley, there was his class rep getting assaulted by some ever shadier dude with a cutter, it smelled like piss and blood and garbage, and the guy was even dressed in black with a face mask and everything. It couldn’t get worse than that, really, in terms of clichés.
Alas, that was where they were currently standing. In a shady back alley, in the darkness, surrounded by foul odours and with blood pouring all over the place to match. The dude was unconscious on the floor, head smashed against some bin (ha, fitting), and there were tears mixing in with his blood and the rep’s DNA.
Yeah, it really wasn’t a good situation to be in, right here and there.
“Oh my God, Kishinuma, why did you do that?!”
The class rep, Shinozaki, kept screaming in his ears as she was sitting him against a wall (more like he let her do so, her shaky little arms weren’t going to do that on their own). He’d have usually minded having someone fret over him so much to the point she was hyperventilating; but he found himself unable to make fun of that and instead decided he’d be a responsible senior for fucking once.
“Hey, Shinozaki… No need to cry, y’know… Just call an ambulance or somethin’…”
She stared at him with swollen, puffy red eyes and a bawling jaw, but only nodded in silence and pulled out her phone. Putting it right against her ear, he could tell her fingers were shaking like leaves in the winter wind, barely able to hold the thing in its place, as her voice only matched. Truly, she had never seen the horrors of the world.
She should have never had, all things considered. Shinozaki was too good for this bullshit.
He simply listened to her telling the cops about the shithole they had found themselves in, lying his head against the wall. In itself, the wound wasn’t hurting as badly as he’d have thought: getting stabbed was like getting punched, except that he was bleeding profusely afterwards and that it was much worse to deal with. He had gotten punched before, that wasn’t a big deal. The pain only started flaring afterwards, and the blood loss was the worse experience he had ever gotten through (after getting disowned, that was).
On second thought, the situation was kind of ironic. He had had no idea why he had decided to save her from probably death (probably). He hadn’t even thought about it before jumping in some shady-ass street of the city where dealing drugs and public pissing must have been national sports. He had just… done that and he wasn’t even finding himself utterly stupid for doing such a dumb thing. Well, also all things considered, she didn’t seem to have enjoyed getting saved at all. Maybe he should have let her die.
Yeah, as if that was ever going to happen.
Shinozaki eventually put down her phone, putting it back into her pocket, call ended. Tears still flowed from her eyes like river streams, hiccupping as she fretted again, hands flying all over the place and breathing hitching too often to his tastes.
“Hey, calm down, Pres… (He attempted a smile: everything not to make her worry). I’ll be fine… I guess… It’s not that big of a deal, just calm down…”
“How am I supposed to do that, Kishinuma?! You’re bleeding and it’s all my fault! I… I should be able to do something about it, but what?!” (There she went off again…)
“Dude, let’s not go down that road… It was that crazy’s fault, wasn’t yours…”
“But you wouldn’t be like that if I hadn’t been there!”
He wanted to sigh until the end of times.
“Look, Shinozaki, I could have not jumped in there… but I did… and it was my own decision… So stop panicking, won’t be helpful to any of us…”
She blinked for a few seconds, staying idle.
“You… You’re right…”
Shinozaki rubbed her eyes with the sleeve of her uniform top (oh, yeah, right: that had happened soon after club activities had ended, great), trying to settle her breathing down. Good, that was one step in the right direction. Very good, considering he felt his consciousness gradually leaving him. He needed her to stay calm until help was there so she wouldn’t do something stupid and harm herself in the process. Couldn’t be that hard, right?
He had a hand on his wound, in his left flank. Not the best place to be hurt (he’d have rather taken the hit somewhere completely inoffensive like, huh… Okay, maybe there wasn’t an ideal place to be stabbed in), but not the worse either. Probably didn’t hit anything vital. If he was lucky enough, he’d survive and be able to forget this all happened after he’d have inevitably entered a comatose state. Sleep sounded just fine right now: the smell of his own blood made him nauseous, it was harder and harder to stand with time passing.
“Just, tell me somethin’, Shinozaki… How in the fuck did you end up here…?”
She didn’t respond, at first. Instead, all she did was to look away, bow her head down, bit her lip, and only then did she answer.
“I’m… not sure. I think someone pulled me in this corner by grabbing my arm and slamming me against a wall. Then he pulled out a knife and… and…”
“O-okay, thanks, don’t panic again…”
“I-I wasn’t panicking…”
“You totally were… (He smirked with the least credibility anyone could have ever failed to deliver on). Doesn’t matter. I’m just glad you’re fine…”
She seemed almost offended to hear him say that. Oops.
“And I’m not glad you got stabbed because of me, Kishinuma!”
“Oh spare me this crap, we just went over this already…”
Shinozaki crossed her arms, obviously hurt to hear him say that (was he inappropriate? Was she too sensitive? Who fucking knew!), only to soon sob again and, this time, give up all hostility.
“I… just don’t want you to die on me, Kishinuma…”
“Oh, c’mon, I wouldn’t be a big loss… (Then he thought of everyone he’d leave behind today if he died at this moment: the class, Satoshi, Miki, her). I won’t die today, I promise… Just… don’t cry…”
She crossed her legs in front of her, arms wrapped against them. If he didn’t feel so weak, he’d have tried pulling her into an embrace, just to strengthen her and not feel like she could be blown away by a breeze.
“You promise…?”
“Yeah… I know it probably don’t hold much weight to you… but yeah…”
He expected to get slapped, physically or verbally, but instead all she did was to put her hand on the one he had plastered over his wound like he was trying to repair a leak.
“I… I’ll believe you, then…”
Sirens started to echo in the distance as she looked at him in the eyes, no smile and only tears to be seen, fingers weakly clutching the back of his hand. It was unrealistic to witness, even if he was about to die would proper medical attention not be given to him soon. It was also pretty fucked up to realize he was somewhat happy to witness Shinozaki seemed to care.
Now to see if he’d be able to keep his promise…

These environments actually played a part in the gameplay: you could figure out the pattern of a ground enemy by looking at which narrow path it would follow destroy giant silos and other mysterious ground structures not to mention the search for hidden towers and flags. However, since most of the landscapes are recycled, a sense of deja vu creeps up well before reaching the sixteenth area but, to the early Eighties’ gamer, Xevious offered quite a show. Xevious does never end (perhaps one of its less progressive aspects) and loops after the end of Area 16. The game consists of sixteen areas that play continuously, each separated by a thick forest zone. The South American setting, a landscape that eventually opens up to the famous Peruvian Nazca lines, became a classic recurrence in shoot-em-ups. Below Solvalou, forests, rivers and plains take form. It was the first vertical scrolling shooter to feature backgrounds graphics that weren’t a simple star field. Xevious is often remembered for the many landmarks it introduced to shooters and gaming in general. Meanwhile, archaeologists Susan Meyer and Akira Sayaka discovered that the Nazca lines could be hiding an ancient weapon which may be used to counterattack GAMP’s army. Mu, Eve and Mio Veetha, a Xevian who opposes to the GAMP’s regime and freed the duo from imprisonment, are back on earth on their ship Solvalou and ready to fight GAMP’s army. They don’t receive a warm welcome from their ancestors, though: captured and imprisoned, they discover that the Xevian are actually planning a massive comeback on the earth.įast forward to our days: all above the earth’s surface, and near the remains of ancient civilizations, giant artifacts suddenly emerge from the soil and activate: they are SOL towers, buried underground and inactive for eons, now responding to GAMP’s orders: the invasion has begun.
#Xevious nes cartridge android
Thousand years after the leaving of GAMPs, the brave pilot Mu and his android companion Eve decided to travel to Xevious (literally “the fourth planet”) to avoid glaciation. Right before the departure, a group of humans rebelled to them and decided to stay on earth anyway. In order to survive the upcoming Ice Age, they left earth and migrated in search of a new homeland, selecting seven planets which were likely suitable to human life. During this golden age, the “GAMPs” were human clones used in heavy labor, until they rebelled to their own creators. As the sci-fi cliche dictates, it turns out that the inhabitants of Xevious are originally from earth, and GAMP (General Artificial Matrix Producer) is the product of an ancient civilization that prospered on earth an hundred thousands years ago. Xevious tells the story of the fight between humankind and the supercomputer GAMP, which controls the alien forces of planet Xevious. He was also producer for many Wizardry ports. At Game’s Studio Endō designed Z Gundam Hot Scramble for Bandai, and recently he was involved with the Game Boy Color Devil Children spin-offs to Shin Megami Tensei.
#Xevious nes cartridge Pc
Since then he continued to work on Famicom, often in collaboration with Namco, developing successful titles like the Family Circuit racing series, or updating his own classic Druaga franchise with Kai’s Quest (Famicom), the PC Engine version of Tower of Druaga and The Blue Crystal Rod (Super Famicom). In August 1985, Endō left Namco to found his own company, Game’s Studio. Doing the same trick in Super Xevious brings “Special thanks for you by game designer EVEZOO” onto the screen. Xevious happens to contain one of these easter eggs as well, which is revealed by going to the far right and bombing away at the beginning of the game: “NAMCO ORIGINAL program by EVEZOO”. It’s actually a problem the industry still struggles with – people still frequently talk about games in terms of “a Capcom game”, instead of “a game designed by Yoshiki Okamoto”. In the Atari age, programmers used to hide in-game secret messages (the term “Easter Egg” was coined in 1981, some two years after Warren Robinett hid his name within the Atari 2600 classic Adventure) to get some much-deserved credit for their work, which otherwise would have gone just to the manufacturer. He was one of the first programmers to take pride in referring to himself as a “game designer”. Joining Namco in April 1981, he became one of Japan’s most respected game creators, later responsible for the equally successful Namco classic Tower of Druaga. It was designed and programmed by Masanobu “EVEZOO” Endō, who graduated from Chiba university in 1959. Like with all of their successful properties, Namco keeps up the legacy with frequent reappearances on compilations and other releases. Upon its release, it became an instant hit, and in the following years it was ported to many 8-bit home systems. Most people reading this have probably already heard about the arcade game Xevious.

Translation of “Elegy for King Arslan the Emancipator“
Source: “Tenba no Yume” Arslan Senki Art Collections by Amano Yoshitaka
Tumblr media
Published: 1991
Written by: Tanaka Yoshiki (author of Arslan Senki series)
In-universe author: “unkown but it’s said to be Gieve”
Big thanks to @innerchorus for proofreading & helping me out with the wording! <3
.
Title: Elegy for King Arslan the Emancipator
You flew away like a hawk soaring through the sky, my King You passed by like the turning of a wheel, my King You were gone like the blowing Northern wind, my King You flowed away like a broad bubbling river, my King
We, the equestrian people of Pars, gathered by your life, We, a people of sorrow, dispersed after your death. The heavens, the earth, the waters of Pars; all has been bled of its colour in your absence.
You, the only King who did not subjugate his people but served them, who dedicated his life to the duties of a monarch The name of “Emancipator King” is bestowed upon you forever You, who brought defeat to the enemies of Pars with your sword, arrows and courage, aided by the comrades who lent you their support The names of your Sixteen Generals will be long remembered too
The farmland where you would put your favourite horse to pasture The gates you'd pass through, and the gardens of the royal palace The lake you would bathe in, the trees under which you'd take your rest Here your shadow remains in this world.
O Arslan the Emancipator King, Your name shall become a star that casts light over the sky Why did you leave the ancient plains of Pars that were so beloved by you, my King...

Disney+ New Releases: February 2021
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
It’s time to play the music and it’s time to light the lights. Why? Well, it’s almost time to meet The Muppet Show on Disney+ tonight.
Disney+’s list of new releases for February 2021 features a handful of intriguing original movies and TV shows. But it’s a blast from the past that’s making the most waves. All five seasons of The Muppet Show will arrive on Disney+’s stream on Friday, Feb. 19. And just like that, 2021 is a brighter place.
February 2021 also sees the back half of WandaVision carry on. Disney+ only mentions each release as being a “new episode” but if our calculations are right, February should feature episodes 5 through 8 of the series. That just leaves the finale for the first Friday in March.
The other major Disney+ original is Flora & Ulysses on Feb. 19. This movie starring Alyson Hannigan, Ben Schwartz, and more is all about a girl and her crime-fighting squirrel buddy. It’s about time that the streaming world got more superhero squirrels. Perhaps this is a prelude to a certain squirrel…girl?
Here is everything else coming to Disney+ this month.

2020年、12月、「Y by YOSHIKI California」、「Y by YOSHIKI Oakville」、両シリーズの新ヴィンテージの発売と同時に、新たなシリーズとなる「Y by YOSHIKI Russian River Valley」をリリースしました。 今後は、「Y by YOSHIKI California」、「Y by YOSHIKI Oakville」、「Y by YOSHIKI Russian River Valley」の3シリーズで、毎年新ヴィンテージをリリースしていく事になるでしょう。 MESSAGE “When I compose a song, I write the score on a piece of paper, rarely do I use a musical instrument. I can hear everything in my head. It’s almost always complete. Wine to me is a song. My imagination flows with every sip and my mind is set free.Together with Rob Mondavi, Jr., Y was created out of my passion for wine and music.

Ace’s Top Ten Video Games
It’d probably be more accurate to call this one “Ten Video Games Ace Has Played A Lot” because even though I spend a lot of time playing video games, I don’t really play that many and am not particularly interested in keeping up with them or their development or anything like that. I am, in short, A Filthy Casual. Come at me, scrublord, I’ve been outside in the past week.
Tumblr media
you’ll just have to cross the don’t give a fuck river first
As usual, these are in no particular order.
1. Pokémon Black & White
Tumblr media
This wasn’t my first Pokémon game (that was HeartGold, which I’m not a huge fan of but I’ll still play from time to time), but it was the one that sold me on the series. I didn’t play Pokémon as a kid or really watch the anime so I don’t have the nostalgia boner that most of my generation does, so it is my completely untainted opinion that the Gen 5 games were the first in the series that were actually, like, good. The games before that are fun, and I play all the ones I have every year, but they are not good. First gen was glitchy as hell, and the others had flat characters (for the most part), barely any story (generally), and the battle system was painfully slow.
Alola is my favorite region because it’s pretty and has my favorite Pokémon, but Black & White still has the best story and characters of the series. I like that it doesn’t just stop before the last gym, that it actually tries to resolve some people’s concerns with the series, and that the title of the game is actually thematically relevant to the content of the game (though that may have been an accident). It is a Good Game. The encounter rate can sometimes get annoying, but that’s what Repels are for.
2. Harvest Moon Animal Parade
Tumblr media
I already mentioned that this is tied for my favorite game with the next one on this list. It’s good and fun and I like it a lot.
3. Dragon Quest V
Tumblr media
really? no smaller gifs? you have failed me once again, tumblr
This is my other favorite game, and I think between this one and Animal Parade you should get a decent idea of the kind of games I like. Maybe. Anyway, it’s good and you should play it if you haven’t already.
4. Animal Crossing New Leaf
Tumblr media
This is another game series I got into pretty late. I only started playing it a couple years ago. It’s pretty fun. I don’t have much time for this one at the moment so I’m getting most of my daily Animal Crossing fix from Pocket Camp, but I’ve spent the better part of my extended unemployment building up my town in New Leaf and you should totally visit my dream town. The address is 5D00-0030-9FBC.
5. Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors
Tumblr media
This game’s got one of them mind fuck endings I’m super fond of, the characters subvert expectations in the way I like, and the puzzles are fun without being too hard. There’s only one I have to look up the solution to, which is pretty good. I still haven’t finished the second game in the series, or touched the third one, but I’ll get around to them eventually.
6. Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed
Tumblr media
Did Tumblr change their gif search thing or something? Why can I find nothing from the game? I mean the anime’s good, too, but this is a video game list.
Anyway, this game is fun. I don’t usually bother with 100% completion and the like, but I kinda want to get 100% completion in it. I talked about the game a bit in one of my essays on adaptation. It’s fun and silly and I like it.
7. Lord of the Rings Online
Tumblr media
I’ve never been a big fan of MMOs, but I am a big fan of Lord of the Rings (both the book and the movies) and I like fun games that are pretty, and this is a fun game that is pretty and feels like Lord of the Rings.
Look at this picture of me and my sibling and our twins.
Tumblr media
They’re cute.
8. Corpse Party
Tumblr media
This game is delightful. I love buckets and buckets of horrific, dehumanizing gore. It’s so over the top and ridiculous and fun. I almost put the OVA on my favorite anime list, just because of Yoshiki’s death scene. His guts came out! And then the bad guy punched through his mouth! It was gross! Yay!
Tumblr media
Even with the silly amount of gore, it’s still a genuinely creepy game with a good atmosphere and characters you root for and want to survive (including Yoshiki, even though his death in the OVA is fun), while simultaneously taking a great deal of joy in watching Kizami and Sachiko do their things. Naomi constantly does stupid shit that should’ve got her killed like 50 bajillion times and it’s annoying, but the good stuff outweighs the bad by quite a lot.
9. Final Fantasy VII
Tumblr media
I’m a boring.
This game is not as good as most fans remember it, but it is a lot of fun. After this game the Final Fantasy series started taking itself waaaaaay too seriously (with the alleged exception of FF9, which I haven’t played but people keep recommending to me), but I’m not a huge Final Fantasy fan to begin with. To be honest, the only ones I like are the first one, then 5, 6, and 7. I finished 4 and enjoyed it while I was playing it, but once it was done I just remember feeling like it was a waste of time.
But, yeah. I like Final Fantasy VII. It’s fun. I’ve got mixed feelings about the remake. I’ll probably watch some let’s plays or something, and then check out if it actually ends up being fairly okay. We’ll see.
10. Saints Row 2
Tumblr media
This is a fun game. I like fun games. The first one is pretty mediocre, and I haven’t really played 3 or 4 (though I do own them and have heard good things), but that’s mainly because I found the ending of 2 to be quite satisfying and don’t really need any more. I learned my lesson from Bleach and Madoka Magica well
Even though this is a crime game about doing crimes, my favorite thing to do in it is just drive around on my motorcycle listening to the 80′s station. I’ll do that for hours. It’s nice.
When I got near the end of this list I discovered that I’d actually put 11 in my notes instead of 10 because I can’t count, so honorable mention:
Tumblr media
It’s fun. I’ve been playing it for the better part of two decades and still haven’t finished it, though, because even though I like platforming, I’m really bad at it.

Skip Beat! is a manga series that has been stealing the hearts of readers since the early 2000s. Its popularity is reflected in the anime (2008-2009) and live action (2010-2011) adaptations it spawned. The manga devotes its pages to following Kyoko as she navigates the entertainment industry in Japan and builds a name for herself as an actress. As a result, most of the “acts” in the manga are told from the perspective of Kyoko (who, as of Volume 38, has yet to graduate high school).
By primarily telling events from Kyoko’s point of view, Skip Beat! has often conformed to the pattern of telling a “single story” (a potentially damaging narrative style, as Chimamanda Adichie has discussed). This has been perhaps most obvious where Saena, Kyoko’s mom, is concerned. However, in Volumes 37 and 38, the manga’s perspective shifts in a big way, giving readers an unexpected glimpse of Saena through her own eyes. Author Yoshiki Nakamura threw these narrative curve balls so beautifully that I stood in awe and looked forward to their delicious thumps! striking against vulnerable parts of my soul; in doing so, they catapulted me into a river of memories and feelings.
[Editor’s Note: The intent of the following piece is to discuss the importance of highlighting multiple voices, particularly marginalized ones, as well as the author’s connection with young Saena’s struggles in not modeling traditional femininity. This framing, however, does not delve into the damage Saena caused as an abusive mother later in life—whether she intended to or not. Survivors of abuse may find this content triggering, and should read with caution.]
CONTENT WARNING for mentions of abuse. SPOILERS for Skip Beat! Volumes 37 and 38.
