Shinigami is so obviously inspired by Whisper not only in design, but having the exact same kind of physical comedy of warping her body and pulling objects from thin air! As well as being a ghost servant to a human boy that almost no one else can see.

Again this is circumstantial... UNTIL TODAY!

I'm watching the new Natsume Yuujinchou season, and I am really noticing how different Natsume's eyes look compared to everyone else's. All the other human characters have round pupils, even when they are startled, but Natsume has cat-slit pupils, no matter what he is feeling. When he is suprised, they narrow, but even when calm, his pupils are not round.

It's such a subtle difference, especially because his coloring isn't that unusual (unlike the manga) but it's noticeable and makes him feel different than the other humans. I can only imagine other people subconsciously pick up on it, and its just one more thing that isolated him from people when he was growing up.

listen I have a very limited knowledge of ykw4 but SURELY shien's ""evil heart"" coming back has some sort of consequences for Lucas. like thats his SOUL dude. like idk if having your soul get ripped from your body to form a whole other person is really something you can survive?????? is lucas ok????????????????????????

it also scares me bc Lucas doesn't show up in ykw4 at ALL. I joke a lot about Lucas not getting any attention ever but at least he had quest/cameos in other games. you'd THINK that the game with the heaviest focus on the enma family would at least have Lucas SOMEWHERE,,,,, it's not even like they were trying to retcon him out of existence or anything, they mention him sometimes and venoct can even be found in mt. wildwood standing where he usually is in other games, waiting for him to come back. SURELY he must be absent from the game for a REASON.

Finally watched the new eps of season 7 because I saw a clip of Isamu already as well as the matoba right eye scene. And ever since reading the chapter about it, I've been wondering (probably a lot of fans, too), whether:

1. The Matoba ancestor with the "sight" already, met the yokai and it helped them solve something and the reward would be the Matoba right eye. Or;

2. The right eye belonged to the yokai to begin with. I dont want to slander their clan but it just crossed my mind. What if the ancestor does not initially have the "sight" but they require it to solve something? So this yokai helped them by letting them "borrow" their eye and once the ordeal is done and solved, they should return it. But they didn't. And with the yokai having their sense of time as it is, didn't come for it until much later. Then the Matoba clan already flourished in the exorcist business and returning the eye would endanger them losing their "sight" altogether. And losing the sight will make them lose their source of income i guess. (Idk if they have other businesses out there aside from exorcism stuff but yeah)

It was just kinda strange how there's already a spot for the eye... Like someone just yoinked it out. Unlike the bug yokai with Natsume's relative, the one asking for a mouth? It does not have a mouth yet but hunts people who can "see" to give him one.

But hey it could also be someone else (not a matoba) yoinked the eye out first. Then it met the Matoba ancestor and made a promise they could not or have no plans of fulfilling. Idk for how long the Matoba clan has been having this eye issue but it would be crazy if Reiko is the one who yoinked the eye before it met the Matoba guy (just considering this theory, ok?). Or maybe someone from the Natsume clan way waaaaay back ( I just assume the Natsumes were a big clan before or idk some legendary ssr grade family that has strong sight power once every few gens).

Idk if there's other media of natsuyuu (like light novels, special chapters only available to certain people, etc.) out there other than the manga so I have no idea if the truth about this matter has been revealed already and I've only read the manga until chapter 119. So be kind if i said anything wrong and pls correct me kindly :)))) i would love to know actually what happened hahaha im one of the rare ones that love spoilers haha

A/N: I've been reading a lot about Yokai, one of my favorites is Tutakuchi Onna, so I wrote a small fic of that yokai. I may do more.

You were somewhat odd, but people don't really take notice of your odd behavior because they're too busy looking at your beauty. Specially your long black hair, it was very long that it reached the back of your knees. Despite everyone only focused on your beauty, Astarion was very observant of those in the traveling companions. He was the one who took notice of your 'odd' behavior.

How you ate very little and how you'd save the rest for later. At first he thought that you were just being cautious due to the amount of food you received that day. Not only that, but you'd eat alone, you never really let anyone eat with you, not even him since you and him are getting closer. He assumed something was going on, where you seen somebody else? Or did you just want to be alone? He could respect that, he knows that people need some alone time. Then, food began to disappear at night. At first it wasn't big of a deal, since there were a few of you, but it got stranger. Huge amounts of food would be gone by the next day and no one knew who or what was eating it. Everyone thought that it was an animal coming by or something.

Another things is about your hair, now you never let anyone touch it. Specially the back of your head. One time that Astarion tried to touch your beautiful hair, you nearly ripped his head off. He never touched your hair again, without your permission at least. He couldn't help himself. He just liked to touch his lover's hair and caress it lovingly. Others didn't mind, but you did. What would be the reason for your outburst? He was now demented to know. Not only that, but he had seen your hair moving in battle, it was fast, but he saw it. As if, your hair had a mind of it's own. Or was he just seeing things? He couldn't get that thought out of his head, he had to know what was going on.

It was just any other night, everyone was most likely sleeping in their own bedrolls in their small tents and Astarion was out eating livestock in the woods. He's been exhausted from that day's mission. It felt long and as if their was no going anywhere. After he was done, he headed back to the camp, ready to get some shut eye. As he approached his tent, he couldn't help but hear a noise. Listening closely, it sounded as if someone was eating. Trying to track the noise, it was coming from your tent. So it was you who has been eating the food? Of course you would, you'd eat like a bird. You didn't eat much.

When he approached your tent, he peaked inside, just to see if his theory was true. But he was met with a whole new different thing. It wasn't you that was eating, but something at the back of your head. Looking closely, it looked like a pair of lips. Munching away at the food that you had saved that day earlier. He watched as your long hair had become some kind of tentacles grabbing the food. Looking down at your physical form, it was clear that you were sleeping. As you slept, the back of your head was practically eating the food you barely ate from. What were you? You looked human, but you weren't exactly a human. So, what were you really? He thought about asking you another day or maybe you'd tell him.

You were feeling guilty, as much as you wanted to tell the others about your second pair of lips, you couldn't. You thought that maybe they'd see you as a weirdo and look at you different. You didn't really have the courage to tell them. Not only that, but the fact that you couldn't really stop it, would only make it upset. If you didn't allow it to feed, it would scream non stop until your ear drums bursted. So you had to let it eat whatever it wanted. First you tried giving it the food you had saved, but it began to eat the other food that was saved for the next day. You had to find a way and time to tell them, but you'd just think of it a lot. How they'd react about your hidden secret.

The next day you were having a lot of thoughts taking over your head. It didn't make it better that the other pair of lips was whispering many things that sounded like gibberish. You were biting at your nails, nervously, overthinking. "What is going on in that pretty little head of yours?" You heard someone say, the you turned at the direction of the voice. It was the one and only Astariron. "Oh, hello Astarion.." you said, removing your hand away from you mouth. "Hello my dear, tell me. What is wrong? You look awfully anxious." He mentioned. You were, he could probably smell it on you. Should you tell him? Do you trust him enough that he won't go and tell everyone? You thought.

Looking down at your feet, as you fiddled with your fingers nervously. "I mean.." you paused, scratching the back of your neck. "I don't know how to put it.. I mean, I've never really told anyone.." You admitted, looking back at Astarion, who was standing there. Waiting patiently. "It's okay, you don't have to tell me anything now, or ever." He responded. "But I do, It's been eating me up for days." You said, very anxiously. "Alright alright, calm down dear." He said, taking you by the shoulders and sat you down on the tree trunk. Trying to get you to relax a bit. You took a few breathes. Trying to maintain and keep yourself calm.

A few minutes have passed. Now you were much calmer. "You alright now dear?" He asked you. Which you responded with a nod. "Much better." You said, a few moments of silence passed. Then you just blurted it out. "Ihaveanotherpairoflipsatthebackofmyhead." You said rapidly. Trying to just let it out. Astarion just looked at you, a bit wide eye by how open you just were. "So, you have another pair of lips in the back of your head?" He repeated what you had said, but in a form of a question. You only nodded, hiding your face with your face with your hands. Afraid that the might say something mean to you or accuse you of something. "Oh darling! That's nothing out of the ordinary. At least to me." He said with a wide smile.

You looked up at him, seen how he didn't react the way you thought he'd react. "It's not? But, I have another mouth at the back of my head. I've been the one who's been taking the food." You added, as a way to test him a bit. "So? I sort of figured it was you. I mean, you barely eat anything and not to mention that one night." He said. This made your heart sink a bit. "Wait, you saw?" You asked him, now getting nervous. "Yeah, by accident. I just wanted to confirm my theory. It made me worry seeing that you barely ate anything. I was going to have a talk with you about that. But I came across that, so I didn't intervene." He explained.

"So you knew, but you didn't freak out and tell everyone?" You asked him, he only nodded. This was new to you, every time someone were to find out about your secret, they'd freak out and go tell everyone about it. This felt as if a huge bolder was taken off your shoulders. "Well, That was unexpected." You admitted. "I take that you're not used to that kind of confession?" He asked you. "No, normally someone would run away, thinking they'll be eater by the other lips." You explained, this made him curious. "Well... can you?" He asked you. "I can." You admitted. "You remember what happened to that one mugger that tried to mug us and he suddenly disappeared?" You asked him. "Yeah, that was odd, I was just about to-" he paused. Thinking about what you had said. "You had something to do with it?" He asked you. All you did was raise your brow at him, indicating that he was right. "You are just filled with secrets are you?" he asked, with a toothy grin. "I guess so." You responded, feeling your face heat up a bit. "Well, I wouldn't mind learning all of them, in due time." He told you with a smirk. Only making your face get even hotter.

Okay; it's kinda unclear what Kuya did here, but the fact that Kuya even did something instead of just watching bullshit happen (his usual M.O) is proof enough to me that he somehow saved Umi's life.

I DON'T CARE THAT UMI IS NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!!!!

We don't know what type of fish he is! He could've easily slipped away in his Tiny Fish Form while everyone was semi-blinded from the light!!!! 😤😤😤

To specify, here's my theory as to what happened here:

Usually, if someone where to lose all of the essence they have, they would die. That is what happened in the past for the creation of the original fish scale relic.

HOWEVER, we know that in the case of yokai, if they lose a ton of/the majority of their essence, their life won't be in danger; they will simply revert to animal form and be stuck that way for a long time, until they've replenished their essence. We know this from Kuya's story of the Lord of Yokai doing that to him after he tried to take his own life, and also from Kuya doing that to the tanuki.

Therefore, when Kuya used his essence while Umi was making the relic, I think he either 1) Made some of his own essence go towards the relic (so Umi wouldn't lose ALL of his and then die), OR 2) Injected his essence into Umi the moment he lost all of his.

Personally, I think the first option is more likely, since idk if the second option is even possible.

BUT ALSO: Notice how in the image of the new relic, the scale is entirely a blue/green, except for that one tiny bit of purple on the bottom-righthand side???

UMI'S SPRITE NEVER HAD THAT SHADE OF PURPLE, YA'LL. 😎

8) I honestly can't even tell if Kuya is lying or not.

I mean, yes, I believe he did decide to help save Umi's life. However, I don't know if he did it out of acknowledgement/respect for Umi. I think it's more likely that he did it out of pity, or a sense of obligation to save a fellow yokai.

BUT, then again, as I mentioned in a previous post, I theorize that Kuya may have made honest attempts to get along with humanity in the past. So, I feel like there's a chance that he secretly sympathized with Umi's struggle.

I have a stupid question but I think it's interesting to share it

What do you think about Max Kakidome being the possible reincarnation of Buck Hazeltine? like, even though he's just a minor character, he reminded me of Buck because of the similarity of his design like the position of his glasses being placed high on his forehead, the hair color and the tone of his hair that is just "tidy" instead of "messy"

Actually I do find this pretty plausible! Not only does he have the same general color scheme or red hair, paired with green and black clothes, he's got the glasses on his forehead, freckles.

And I didn't know his name was Max til now(because despite being in the intro, the student council barely had any impact on the show aside from Ranto), but that's damning evidence.

Ya see, most the reincarnations' names are plays on their Japanese name, for example Blizzaria/Fubuki-hime became "Fubuki Himekawa"

Buck's Japanese name was Mack.

So yeah, I actually find this connection pretty plausible! At least more plausible then my personal headcanon that Nayu is Nate.(which is probably not true, but hey, nothing disproves it.

Brother Krang being alive is something I've been thinking about as a possibility but never fully decided or what would change. Sure we see him trapped in the ship, but we don't know if it was hard enough to crush him or if he died from the explosion as the portal closed. So he could be running around, watching and waiting as he heals.

This could lead Donnie to think him hearing the Krangs' voice is just him imagining things when he starts hearing another voice in his head. Since the brother Krang doesn't speak out loud the turtles don't know what he sounds like. Bonus points if he actually talks a lot in the hive mind, almost rivaling Leo.

He could just accept Donnie as the new leader, freaking out the others when Donnie brings home another one, or decide to go rogue. This is the turtle that took control of his ship after all. Leading to a situation where Krang one and the sister Krang have to fight their brother to protect Donnie.

If he did join the group the amount of times he scared the others by silently appearing behind them. Damnit Donnie! Put a damn bell on the thing!

Casey Sr would be the only thing Other than Donnie the Krang fear. She bit one of them, will at times just stand still for hours staring at them, those monsters she calls scouts, and Purple Prime has absolutely no control over her! Casey Sr thinks she can bear them in a fight and they're too scared to test her theory.

Splinter spends a lot of time in denial. These were the things that nearly took away two of his sons, there's no way his Purple would just-

He starts to wonder if it was all his fault. He just randomly appointed Blue as the leader and didn't talk about it with the others or ask if Blue even wanted to be the leader.

He had so much potential though! Always coming up with plans and knowing his and the others' strengths and how to properly use them. Not to mention the stress was obviously tearing his oldest apart.

If he had done some things differently, would none of this have happened?

By the time he sorts himself out, the kids have started a trial run with Purple and the Krang since they apparently can't get rid of them without negatively affecting Purple. Again they had to rely on themselves because he couldn't pull himself out of his own head. He regrets making them grow up so fast but is so proud of who they've become.

Draxum is working with Casey Jr on trying to find a way to separate Donnie from the Krang. He wasn't there to see what the Krang did, but the aftermath says enough. Draxum discovers the empyrean he used to create the turtles is of Krang origin and could be part of why Donnie integrated so well. The fear that this means the other mutants and yokai that also come from empyrean are also at risk.

Hueso would definitely be worried about the kids. He doesn't see them too often after everything and they look so beat up and tired. Not to mention Leo is apparently at home healing from injuries. When he does see him again there isn't any of that usual annoying, energetic personality.

For once, Hueso wishes Leo would complain and rant to him about his problems so he knew what was going on. Knew how he could help.

Probably not the best idea to contact the ancestors. When asked about the Shredder they gave some of the worse advice. No one wants to know what they'd say about the same species as the one that created him.

They'd talk to Karai though. She'd do her best to try to comfort them and guide them. Donatello is still family and he sees them as such, his Ninpo proves that. So she tries to be there for him to know that he's still family to them as well.

She won't say it out loud, but she does worry about him losing himself like her father once did.

Probably one of the weirdest Yo-Kai ever in the entire Yokai Watch franchise (and that is saying A LOT considering the amount of strange designs and concepts behind so many of them).

Like...why make a Yokai based on Charles Darwin, that talks about evolution theory and stuff like that? That has got to be one of the weirdest ideas in any monster catching franchise ever 😂

So I saw someone else just ask if anyone will ever see the silly side of purple and I was wondering if you had any personal headcanons for purple in this fic that you have yet to share? Totes fine if not I’m just really curious (I love BTO sm 😭🫶)

YES okay so this is off the top of my head so i can’t remember if they’ve been mentioned before or not but i just wanna share

Purple was a kid who was really invested in space. he wanted to be an astronaut, had the little star protection light in his room, etc. part of this fascination is definitely from the fact that he never had the ability to see the sky as a kid, since he was underground. (this reminds me of a scene that i had an idea for… but idk if i’ll add it!)

Purple did actually attend a Yokai public school when he was younger. he does have documentation, and he is a legal citizen (of the Hidden City). draxum pulled him out of school after bullying due to his scars (thought mostly it was because the Council of Heads was getting on his ass and he didn’t want to put Purple at risk of being targeted.) He had private tutors and at least some formal education. He a smart boy!

Purple has a tendency to over apologize. I feel awkward adding this in dialogue because (even though you cannot talk to me without hearing me say “i’m sorry” at least 15 times) i think it breaks the flow and would be a little annoying to read.

The yokai in the one Hidden City trip episode are shown to be So Inconsistent and incompetent in their ability to recognize people, so my brain kept thinking about it.

for Leo's half, I do think it was his Hair that made the guards suddenly recognize him as a battle nexus champion. And by that I mean the Hair literally altered their perception.

Because either they weren't into the Battle Nexus and therefore didnt recognize him, or knew he was a champion and just didn't care, or idk maybe they just hadn't watched that fight and didn't believe him, but I think the hair saw how Leo felt like he should be respected for being a champion and altered the guard's perception accordingly, then again with the octopus guy to get Leo out of the picture.

(Because that episode is just too wild otherwise. You're telling me that not only did they only recognize him when he had hair, which he did not ORIGINALLY HAVE, but then they recognize an OCTOPUS, DIFFERENT COLOUR, DIFFERENT BUILD AND HEIGHT ENTIRELY, because of the hair, that, again, LEO DIDNT ORIGINALY-)

That doesn't explain the police officers in Raph's episode. And, admittedly, it is a stretch to guess that someone cursed Raph or something.

However, it's weird that they mistook Raph for Heinous Green because, while similar, they had plenty of visual differences, BUT then couldn't recognize the guy who was CLEARLY Heinous Green because he had one tiny difference (until Raph added the mustache to the wanted poster.)

And, yeah, you could say maybe they wanted to Actually Make Sure after already mistaking one guy for him, except. Except. They proceed to turn around and mistake Raph for another guy that looks even LESS like him.

So what's with this inconsistency?

I have a theory that maybe Heinous Green had some sort of spell to make it harder to recognize him? He was a well known, wanted criminal, who was shown to have at least somewhat agreeable relationships with Big Mama, who has plenty of mystic doo-dads and ways to get them, so I don't think it's out of the possibility.

That brings us to Mikey's episode, where I was going to rant about HOW did they recognize the Baron Draxum in a completely different outfit and without the mask that covers 99% of his face (if he didn't have the mask in the poster or had it in the episode please correct me), but if you assume that the difficulty recognizing the real Heinous Green was an exception rather than the rule, it does line up with the police's "pick a guy that looks similar enough I guess" we see with Raph.

Anyway, are the turtles wanted criminals now or...? Cause ignoring that Leo and Raph were cases of mistaken identity, Donnie Did do That and Mikey broke a wanted criminal out of prison.... Actually what even would they think if they knew the turtles were Draxum's experiments would they be considered as people? Do they get a pass on that and their crimes due to saving New York/the world twice? Speculation!
