In 2007, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline, Hasbro released a 25th Anniversary collection of newly sculpted 3¾" figures! These figures replaced the classic O-ring construction with a swivel chest and increased articulation! The 25th Anniversary collection was well received by retailers and collectors, and was soon expanded into a full-fledged toyline!
This promotional catalog was released in 2008 and featured selected figures, vehicles, and DVD battle packs! The flip side of the catalog featured a battle scene! Pics courtesy of YoJoe.com!

This unreleased AF figure has always fascinated me. I usually don’t have any interest in Black Major style customs but I made the exception here for a couple reasons. One is I love this figure and the mystery behind the real one and the other is I love what Blood For The Baron has been doing in terms of Action Force and other G.I. Joe Euro releases. Please read the YoJoe post about Bombardier and stop by BFTB and check him out.

I'm not sure if you'd know, but hopefully you can point in the right direction. Is there a list out there of all the G.I. Joe toys Fun Pub produced while they had the license? It seems like finding the list for 3 3/4 figures wouldn't be too hard, but resources on the 12 inch figures seem bon existent.
I don’t know much about it, but I’d figure YoJoe.com would be where you want to look. Their toy database has a page for each year, and sections on each of those pages for Con and Club exclusives. Don’t forgot to look at the Vehicles section as well! And they’ve got a 12″ guide too

Sci-Fi
Sci-Fi is a member of the G.I. Joe team from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Now known as Syfy for trademark reasons.
In a world with giant intergalactic robots that shoot lasers, not too many humans would fit in like G.I. Joe's Laser Trooper, Seymour P. Fine (codename: Sci-Fi). It also doesn't hurt that Sci-Fi's secondary military specialty is Electronics.

Fiction
G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers
Together with Flash, Sci-Fi was given experimental laser technology with which to defend the SPS Research Facility from a Cobra attack. When Cobra arrived with their giant robots, Sci-Fi killed Frenzy with a precise laser straight through the robot's eye. He and Flash were unable to stop Rumble from razing the building they were standing on, however. They were ultimately saved by Bumblebee, who punched out Rumble and helped the laser troopers get out of the rubble. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #3 Sci-Fi later participated in the attack on Cobra Island, during which he got to sit inside Bumblebee and brag to the other soldiers about how awesome laser rifles were. He also helped Mainframe deduce the coordinates to the SPS Satellite, allowing Optimus Prime to shoot it down. As thanks for helping the Autobots defeat the Decepticons, Sci-Fi was provided with his very own giant mech suit. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #6
While interrupting a Cobra project in Boston two years later, Sci-Fi and the other Joes were transported to Cybertron due to malfunctioning wormhole technology. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers II #1 He didn't really do anything in particular during his stay there. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers II #3
Sci-Fi later returned to Cybertron to help the Autobots defeat Serpent O.R.'s new Decepticon army. The Art of War #4
Several months after returning to Earth, Sci-Fi accompanied the Laser Squad on a G.I. Joe mission to the Himalayas of Tibet to stop the forces of Cobra-La and Unicron. Together with Flash and Red Spot, Sci-Fi defeated the Pretender Monsters by blowing Monstructor's head apart. After the threat of Cobra-La had been dealt with, Sci-Fi joined a crew under Joe Colton to explore the remains of Unicron and police its surviving inhabitants. Black Horizon, Part 2 of 2
Transformers vs. G.I. Joe
G.I. Joe, and the Earth at large, found themselves caught up in a war against the planet Cybertron. Sci-Fi was among the many operatives sent to the metallic planet to take the offensive against their opponents. After an attack against the Decepticon city of Trypticon ended with the Joes on the run, they regrouped at Green Zone 0-8-6, their temporary camp behind enemy lines. There, Sci-Fi helped secure Wheeljack after the Autobot was ensnared in one of the camp's perimeter traps. Targetmasters The team began taking the Autobot apart until he proved himself to be sentient. Just as the operation was tabled, Wheeljack's friends burst in on the scene and launched an offensive. The Joes reciprocated the attack, and a several blasts from the crossfire knocked all of the combatants unconscious. Funeral for a Friend
The Joes eventually came to ally themselves with the Autobots against the Decepticobra alliance. Once they lodged themselves within Metroplex, Sci-Fi was given access to the Autobots' library. Everybody Hates Metroplex When Optimus Prime returned to Cybertron to liberate his people, Sci-Fi witnessed him be slain by Megatron, and subsequently plummet down into the bowels of Cybertron. Pax Megatronus
Notes
Sci-Fi's real name, Seymour P. Fine, is abbreviated "S. P. F.", making it a sunscreen pun. Because he works with lasers, get it?
Sci-Fi has been voiced by Transformers alumni Jerry Houser in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, and by Joe Zieja in G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout.

150: “Starduster.” G.I. Joe “Real American Hero” Series 6, 1987.
We’ve had several figures already that were initially only available via mail-in, and we are gonna cap off 1987 with three, in fact. Starduster here is the first of those three.
Starduster was first available through the G.I. Joe Action Stars cereal. Later,  Starduster was available via other mail order offers through Hasbro.
One recurring element that we’ve seen as I’ve been pushing through this project is the idea of “repaints” of some figures, or parts of certain figures used for other figures. What this means is that the molds from a previous figure are used to create parts for a “new” figure. Starduster is one HECK of a Frankenstein’s Monster in this regard and in fact has several variations that were issued. I won’t bother to go over all those versions, as there are archival sites like yojoe.com and 3Djoes.com that do an amazing job detailing all that. However, I will say that the version I have chosen to draw has the Duke torso/chest, Flint arms, Recondo Waist, and Roadblock v1 legs. The head is supposedly not a recycled part but it looks VERY similar to Flash v1 to me.

JoeCon Custom Chef Process Post!
I figured I spent so long getting this figure ready for the YoJoe archives I might as well make a post showing how it came together.
Chef was a proposed 1987 G.I. Joe figure that evolved into Starduster, the mail-away figure from the G.I. Joe Action Stars cereal!  The original artwork can be found here!  This was the figure we would be making for the International G.I. Joe Collector's Convention's custom class for 2014.  It's the first time there's been a directed build, and we'd have some new parts sculpted by Boss Fight Studios for us.
First picture - the bagged set of parts cast by Alyosha with help from Raginspoon.  Note that participants had to provide their own limbs.  The head is cast from Lifeline, while the torso and waist are from Firefly.  The neck was modified by Andrew of Boss Fight Studios to remove the turtleneck.  Apparently, all he used was a dremel!  Along with the body parts, we had some accessories, including Zandar's shoulder holster that Alyosha lengthened to fit around the larger torso.
Second picture - I assembled my figure parts prior to painting, just to get a feel for the figure.  I chose Flint's arms, while the legs are a combination of Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes, and Elite-Viper.
Third picture - After painting, I realized the arms weren't working.  The shoulder joints didn't agree with the torso, and the skin tone really didn't match the head.  I also wasn't liking painting the neck with the loaner tools in the class, so I decided to hold off on that until I got home.  This was as far as I got during the convention.
Fourth picture - I picked up a Joe Colton from the convention's dealer room for his arms.  I kept Flint's gloved hands, as gloved hands were part of the original artwork.  With my own brushes and paints, I felt more comfortable tackling the neck, too.
Fifth picture - The next day I finally applied the waterslide decal we were given as a tattoo for Chef.  I definitely procrastinated on this step!  Partly because I wanted to scan the decal in for the archives, but mostly because waterslide decals scare me.  Let's just say this was the first successful application of one I've ever done, and leave it at that.
Sixth picture - after rounding up some Testor's Model Masters paints in the colors used in the custom class, I was able to touch up some scratches made during the journey home.  Chef is finally ready for his YoJoe close-up.
