Yuri on Ice Music Week 1990s. I decided to do a series of doodles based on the song Fine Time by Eraserheads. It’s a Filipino band, so I am not sure how many people know this. But listen and you’d understand why I picked it.
Listen to Fine Time via Spotify. Or click the Youtube link below to hear it. :)

Yeah we’re damaged
Badly damaged
But your love’s too good  to lose
Hold me tighter
Even closer
I’ll stay if I’m what you choose
Can  we be seventeen….
If I am what you choose
Cause you’re the one I choose
My entry for the 80′s piece!
Heathers (The Musical ofc) AU i will likely keep on drawing on the future.

I want it all
For @yoimusicweek
Day 3 - 80s - Queen - I want it all (1989)
At 15, he had shown the world what he was capable of, GPF gold medallist in his senior debut.
At 17, well, almost 17, he felt like he had the world at his feet, that he could do anything, with no one stopping him, no one at all. Racing from one gold to another, with the occasional grudging silver thrown in.
Contrary to all the predictions, several growth spurts had not thrown his balance, instead his jumps had gotten higher, more impressive. Then again, he was training harder than ever, too.
It was an exhilarating feeling, and when he'd realized he'd outgrown even J.J., he relished in some long overdue, very smug comments.
The Olympics were to be his crowning glory, showing everyone once again what Yuri Plisetsky could do.
And he had to win, more than just his skating career depended on it.
In Pyongyang, as in so many other competitions before, he was immediately and inexorably glued to Otabek's side. Ever since Barcelona, this thing between them had been growing steadily. Friends, Yuri's first true friend, but also – also not. At first it had been hard to tell, he had so little experience in having a friend, that he wasn't sure if the fierce possessiveness he felt, the desire to be close to Otabek, to share everything with him, the ease with which he could open up to him, if these weren't the signs of a normal friendship.  He'd grown older, though, and over the years one thing had become clear to him. This was by no means platonic.
He wanted Otabek Altin.
And for some reason, in his mind, his success in the Olympics was tied inextricably to the confession he had to make, the words he simply had to get out of his system.
He needed to be at the height of it, in order to gather his courage.
Yuri knew what he wanted, and he had been working ceaselessly for months to achieve it.
The short program was good, but he wasn't satisfied with it, it hadn't been record-breaking. He himself had set the bar very high, and living up to himself sometimes proved to be harder than expected. The competition was still too close to him. Otabek himself was close, and while Yuri loved it when Otabek won, loved to see him skate, this time he could not be as happy for him as he would usually have been. Yuri had to take gold. It was too important.
“You're unusually tense.”
Otabek gave him a searching, intense look, and Yuri had to look away, he'd often wondered if Otabek couldn't read all Yuri's feelings for him on his face. He knew Yuri so well, after all, understood so much.
“Aren't you? It's the Olympics.”
“I guess so,” Otabek replied, and Yuri had the definite feeling that Otabek wasn't buying his excuse at all, but neither did he press the matter.
“I've rented a bike. Ride?”
It was Otabek's favourite means of dealing with stress and nerves, and Yuri's heart beat hard at the thoughtful gesture.
It was cold, and he pressed his face against a leather-clad shoulder, arms wrapped tightly around Otabek. For a while, nothing else existed, only the two of them and the speed of the bike, wind clawing at them, bodies pressed close together. It was almost enough to tell Otabek the moment they got off the bike again, but he had planned it all for too long to give in to an impulse now.
He had to win gold first.
And then he had done it, flying high on a new world record, standing on the podium, towering above Otabek and Yuuri, the gold around his neck blazing like the sun. He smiled triumphantly for the cameras, one arm around Otabek, graciously accepting congratulations.
It was time.
Yuri had managed to vanish with Otabek from the crowds and reporters, from Yuuri and Viktor, and most of all Yakov, to find a quiet corner of the Olympic village.
“You were mag...”
“I love you.”
They'd both spoken at the same time, and Yuri blushed as Otabek's eyes widened.
“What?”
“I love you. I want to be your boyfriend.” It sounded stupid, but Yuri had no better words for his feelings. He felt half sick as he waited for Otabek to reply – he looked like someone had hit him over the head.
“Are you se...” Otabek stopped himself, and it was better that way, Yuri was already feeling indignant. “Of course you're serious.”
And then his face broke into a radiant smile, and the next moment, he'd pulled Yuri into his arms, holding him close.
“You are quite something, Yuri Plisetsky.” Otabek caressed his hair and muttered: “I’ve loved you for a long time.”
Yuri melted against him, tension draining from him. There were soft lips against his cheek, then his own lips. He could hardly believe it, even as he kissed back enthusiastically.
He had it all.

Prompts announcement for Yuri On Ice Music Week is finally here!
Thank you all for taking the time to vote for what decades you wanted to see in the week! We can now reveal that the schedule will be as follows:
4th September: 1960s
5th September: 1970s
6th September: 1980s
7th September: 1990s
8th September: 2000s
9th September: 2010s
10th September: Free day
Works for the week can be fic, art, edits, cosplay etc., and you are welcome to choose any song you like as inspiration for your work as long as the original release date was in the decade you are creating your work for. You do not, however, have to base your work in the decade that you are creating your work for - i.e., a work based on a song from the 90s does not actually have to be set in the 90s. For the free day, you can choose a piece of music from any point in history.
The tags for this event are #yoimusicweek and #yoimusicweek2017 and the AO3 collection can be found here. Check out our about and rules & faq pages for more information, or send us an ask if your question isn’t answered there. We hope to see you participating in Yuri On Ice Music Week 2017!

For @yoimusicweek day 5: 2000s When your boyfriend has snobby taste in music but you make him listen to your emo anyway. (I enjoyed going through my old iTunes music for this probably far more than I should have)

won’t you please (be my baby)
Otabek Altin/Yuri Plisetsky
165 words
The five times Otabek fails at asking Yuri out, and the one time he succeeds.
AO3 link
Written for Yuri On Ice Music Week Day 1: 1960s
Song: Be My Baby by The Ronnettes
Oh, since the day I saw you I have been waiting for you You know I will adore you 'til eternity
It takes several attempts for Otabek to successfully ask Yuri Plisetsky out.
The first time, Yuri thinks he's joking.
"Yeah, right, good one, Beka. You almost had me there. Hey, do you have any suggestions for my free skate music yet?"
The second time, Yuri thinks he's asking out Mila.
"I didn't even realise you liked her."
"I do-"
"Guess people are full of surprises, huh?"
The third time, Yuri doesn't hear him because he's got his headphones on.
The fourth, Yuri stares at him with a confused expression on his face before he eventually blurts out a "Fuck no."
The fifth, Yuri laughs awkwardly and asks if Otabek's being serious.
"Of course not!" Otabek replies with a nervous laugh. "Me and you? Going out? Completely ridiculous! Stupidest thing I've ever heard!"
Otabek leaves it for a while. Then, in the park in Barcelona that started it all, he asks again and there's no confusion about what he's talking about.
And Yuri?
He says yes.

Yuri on Ice Music Week 2010s - Decided to go with Bruno Mars. I was so torn as to how to do this, tbh T_T. But I ended up this ficlet for the YOI Music Week post and also a story idea which I will hope to work on some other day. Not any time soon because Music Week has been a really challenging one for me. Watch the video below and see what inspired the ficlet.

Yuri on Ice music week, day 1: the Sixties
Elvis Presley - Can't Help Falling In Love (1961)
Like a river flows surely to the sea Darling so it goes some things are meant to be take my hand, take my whole life too for I can't help falling in love with you
Link for the lyrics and some explanation and plans for the week under the cut:
Lyrics I can’t say I was really inspired for this day. Although the choice of the song was obvious. I can’t draw, I can’t write, I can’t edit videos. I can only do gifsets. I only have a small gifmaker, so don’t expect some fancy shit.  Except day 1, all will be AUs. Except for day 1, 2 and 7, all days will be using songs from French singer Mylène Farmer because I’m a fan so I’m not passing the opportunity to use her songs. I will link English translations of course. I will also link videos but the performances/versions in the video might not be the original, I will link the performances/versions I like best or with the best quality.

Emil Nekola & Otabek Altin
Implied Character Death
“They would not listen, they’re not listening still… Perhaps they never will..”
The pasture is clear tonight, with the breeze blowing in soft whispers, sharing secrets with the dancing grass. Emil sees nothing beyond the horizon but twinkling dots from above. The lilt conversation of nature reaches him, and his skin tingles from the chilly air as his footfalls crunch against the verdant ground below him. From his periphery, Otabek walks with a guitar strapped on his shoulder, pace more languid and face seemingly blending with evening landscape.
They both sit at the center, watching the still life picture with wordless thoughts jumping around their minds and out to the twinkling canvas above. Otabek plants his guitar on his lap and plucks a chord, a familiar tune that matches nature’s whispers. Emil follows, voice reverberating with the strum and the wind in melancholic symphony.
“Did you know that the stars we’re looking right now were the stars that once lived billions and billions of years ago?” Emil asked once, a few years back on a night like this. He remembers a sigh beside him and the crickets chirping back yet never understanding human language.
“Sometimes, when I look at the sky, maybe if I could just squint, I could maybe find something from the past.” He continued, “If I reach far enough, if I just stretch my hand as far as I could, maybe.. maybe…”
Nothing comes after but another sigh from Otabek. Emil now recalls his friend’s question in that contemplative frown and realizes he hasn’t said anything yet, hasn’t provided any answer to his wandering thoughts.
A moment after, he asked,
“Do you think, if people saw each others past, or maybe the present or their future, or maybe themselves as a whole, would they have understood other people a lot more? Would they have respected each other more or less? Would they have gone their way to be more nicer, more empathic for everyone else?”
The creases in Otabek’s eyebrows grew. Emil did not know if he had upset him then, but the thought dies when the dark glaze in his eyes mirrored his own. Their gazes lingered on each other for another intermission of cricket chirps before Otabek set his vision back at the sky. Emil’s eyes followed.
“…I don’t know.” Otabek finally replied. It was an answer that still dissatisfies his pondering thoughts even to this day, but an answer nonetheless, “Maybe they would.. but sometimes maybe they don’t.. but we can never force empathy on anyone.. That, I know.”
Now as the music reaches the chorus, Emil reaches up and he swears he sees his mother’s smile and he fists his hand, as if he could grasp those honey sweet memories, but there was only air, her blood in his hands and her head on crumpled paper stained in crimson. His vision blurs and liquid trails down his cheeks, dripping on his shirt.
“Now I think I know, what you tried to say to me,” He sang, words crooked from his waterworks, “And how you suffered for your sanity… And how you tried to set them free..” The wind howled. It kissed his face, just as his mother kissed him after she tucked him to bed.
He closed his eyes, the image in his head a visage of his mothers cerulean irises, her soft, flowing ash blonde hair, and that endearing smile that shined his worries away. She had him engulfed in her warmth, softly mumbling the highlights of her day. His mind replays her favorite tunes, her excitement over her next novel to be published, and that little chest filled of post-it notes she stuck to his bed post before she left for work. The last image stops on the day they sat gazing at the stars, pointing at made-up constellations and telling tales of the old.
“They would not listen, they’re not listening still… Perhaps they never will..” Emil finished, leaving only the last quiet strum from the guitar. The wind softened its whispers, and the crickets chirped louder as the image in his mind bleeds as bright as the stars above.

Audio
(my cat finally decided to stop bothering me and take a nap, so I got some podficcing and music recording in!)
Keeping on with @yoimusicweek! I skipped the 70s because I suck at all the songs I know...but I’m a HUGE 80s fan! It was hard to pick a song.
Journey’s Faithfully is one of those songs that never gets old to play/sing. I feel like it fits quite well with any ship in YOI fandom, because most of the ships are long distance (and as much as I love a good angsty fic, I also enjoy the fluffy “I’ll love you forever” stuff too).
