Desde entonces tuvo acceso a toda clase de libros y cosas que deseara, nutriendo su gran cerebro puesto que con solo seis años ya sabía leer, escribir y hacer sumas de grandes cantidades. Sus padres celebraban siempre lo inteligente y maravilloso que era, siendo su niño perfecto cuando era presentado en sociedad.

Fue un niño especial que solía tener una “imaginación muy vivaz” puesto que podía ver lo que otros no podían, porque podía hablar con aquello que no existía y siempre mantuvo un aura siniestra cuando se comunicaba con los difuntos abuelos que habitaban en el hogar donde vivía. Gustaba de los libros que hablasen de Dios y el Diablo, de demonios que consumían la carne humana y de ángeles que descendían con espadas de fuego para castigar en nombre de Dios. Gracias a que su familia era sumamente católica, nunca perdió el contacto con el convento ni el orfanato, volviendo a este una vez que abandonó la idea de convertirse en doctor como sus padres adoptivos.

Yohan incursionó en su trayecto para convertirse en un sacerdote, negándose rotundamente a ser como los demás, evitando a toda costa hacer sermones en una capilla y escuchar pecadores en un cubículo. Desde su graduación, ingresó en el programa para convertirse en sacerdote exorcista, encontrando una de sus grandes respuestas entre libros más elaborados y encuentro directos con lo demoniaco: no podía ser poseído.

Es actualmente un exorcista reconocido no solo en Corea, sino en todo el mundo. Siendo llamado a diferentes lugares cuando la posesión requiere de sus habilidades y de sus pequeños trofeos. Actualmente mantiene seis demonios sellados y embotellados, teniendo un pacto de sangre con él que le permite utilizarlos cuando desea para contrarrestar otras criaturas demoniacas más poderosas. Cada uno representa un pecado capital, ya sea por la forma en que los encontró como es que estos se comportan. Gracias al pacto, estos demonios no pueden irse muy lejos de él y si son llamados, aparecerán de inmediato.

Background

Johan was born to Marie Lisbet Suiderkloof and Anton Martinus Suiderkloof as part of a pair of twins. His family was a group of goudstoft farmers (Goudstoft- literally, "Golden dust"- being a sour-tasting plant whose leaves produce gold tinted smoke when burnt and induces a minor psychoactive response in the minds of whomever inhales said fumes. Often used to create cigarettes), and his six older brothers each turned out to be bioworkers specializing in flora whose job it was to ensure that the Goudstoft plants grew as well as possible and year round, giving the Suiderkloof family an advantage in trade of the plant and indirectly contributing to an agricultural revolution.

His parents were both of mixed descent, with the majority of their bloodlines coming from Chenyi to the north, the original Vosch settlers in Ost-Rietland, and a multitude of others including Ostian, Naveja, and possibly even a bit of Somaj. Although they are officially classified as simply being of mixed descent, people with similar ancestry to them are incredibly common in the Rietland Republics, and over the centuries have even developed their own culture that borrows from their various lineages along with elements unique to them. As a result, many contemporary political groups (specifically those of this kind of mixed descent) are actually pushing for legislature to have people like them be defined as a separate and distinct ethnic group.

For a long time it was believed that Johan and his sister- Aletta Mariaan Suiderkloof- would turn out to be nieheksen (a Vosch word describing people without magic. Not an insult) just like their parents.

However, as he grew older, Johan began to develop a sort of sixth sense regarding any kind of metal, to the point where if he told his mother that a part she was buying was faulty or of an alloy that wouldn't survive the work they needed it fot, she'd trust his intuition over the words of a qualified expert any day. The people of rural Zuurveldt being as superstitious as they are, his family and their workers assumed it was the spirits' gift to him, given that he had no magic to provide a 'natural' explanation.

When he was twelve, he watched a runaway harvester barrelling down on his brother, knowing he would surely be shredded into a fine red mist if it caught him, and without hesitating reached out and crushed the machine, stopping it in its tracks.

He was taken to be tested at the boarding school he and his sister attended later that year, and he clocked in as an order five metalworker. Aletta, however, never developed magic.

When he was sixteen, Rostov invaded the Rietland republics yet again, sparking the Fourth Frontier war. Despite their parents begging them not to go since they still remembered the previous conflict, he and his sister were young and of enlistment age, so they and their brothers left home to fight for their country, heads full of propaganda and lies about the glory of war.

The war was brutal, as such things tend to be, and as a way of coping with the stress he took to smoking goudstoft to help calm his nerves. Most of their brothers didn't make it back, and two of them died fighting the infamous Artyom Maxim, a Rostovan general and the highest ranking matterworker- hell, the highest rank mage outright- to ever be recorded. (Matterworkers are the most powerful caste of mage-, with direct control of all matter down to a subatomic level)

During the war, the twins were stationed at a borderwatch base with the Angeheimish 107th volunteer corps, which was where Johan met Maire.

After their tour of the warfront had ended, Johan and Aletta returned home, directed to the city of Doringpoort by letters from their family claiming that the farm had been sold and that they had moved that way to start a new business.

They would see the city, but they would never arrive.

While they were still on the train several miles from the city, general Artyom Maxim would stand trial for warcrimes within the Doringpoort human rights court, and although no one in-universe knows exactly what he did, as outside observers we can piece together what happened.

A bright flash, a deafening roar, and a rolling earthquake tailed by hurricane-force winds.

By the time people could rush to the cabin window, the city sat in ruins, and above it bloomed a smoke cloud in the shape of a mushroom, easily large enough to be seen for miles around. This event, later called the Doringpoort bombing, is the only case of a nuclear detonation in this world's history. Maxim had split the atom.

When the shockwave hit the train and derailed it, Johan's magic kicked in, deflecting a stray piece of debris flung from the city that would've impaled him, before the impact itself knocked him out. He awoke to a head splitting migraine, nausea, confusion, and the sight of his sister dead on the ground, impaled by the very debris he had deflected as a mere reflex.

For five years, no one would hear from or about Johan. It was assumed that he had also died to this strange ailment that seemed to afflict all survivors of the bombing.

Until one day he turned up in Zuidpunkt, setting up shop and advertising himself as a private investigator, where he would quickly Garner a reputation as the man you went to if you wanted an investigation done that the Stadwag were unwilling to. He was still cordial with everyone from his old unit, joking around, openly talking about the condition he now had and how difficult having a barely functional immune system or ability to naturally heal injuries made his life, although he would pointedly avoid any questions about where he had been for the past half a decade, simply saying that he had been travelling.

The only clues to his hidden past being the pendant of unidentifiable make that he seemed to always be wearing, and that he now ranked lower as a mage than he had in his youth.

Physical Appearance

Johan is tall, just about eye level with Sasha, with a weaselly appearance. Although it's quite difficult to see when he's wearing a trenchcoat (as he usually does), his body is extremely emaciated as a result of his medical condition, and since he can't naturally heal his own injuries anymore he's usually got a bandage wrapped around some or other part of his body until he can go to get it healed.

He has light but tanned skin and long ginger hair that he constantly complains about but rather keeps tied back instead of getting cut.

His eyes are green, and although he is no longer powerful enough for the same effect to occur anymore, his eyes used to turn grey whenever he used his magic. (Although, when adrenaline bolsters his magic it will still sometimes change)

Johan has a scar on his shoulder from getting shot in the war. He also has a suspiciously rune scaped scar on his chest that occasionally pokes out from his shirt.

Personality

Johan has a good sense of humour, however Rietlander humour has a tendency to come across as mean spirited or rude to foreigners, so he makes a conscious effort to suppress his desire to crack jokes.

He is methodical and logical, preferring to piece together as much information as possible before reaching conclusions, and will often keep his opinions to himself until such a time as they can either be proven irrefutably correct or serve a purpose in being revealed. This makes him someone that people will listen to whenever he advises against something or gives his two cents on a subject.

Johan abides by the old Vosch adage: 'En boer maakt en plann' [A farmer makes a plan], which essentially means that no matter how bad or bleak a situation is, as long as you have something, anything, on hand and something between your ears, you can find a way to make it work. Granted, this is meant to apply to farmers needing to come up with creative solutions to unexpected problems, however he likes to apply it to his own life as well.

He has an incredibly high tolerance of discomfort and mental strain, owing to the soul-grinding experience of being near constantly sick or injured due to his condition, and as a result tends to also be a beacon of patience and silent endurance.

Although he's only 23, he's often misconstrued as being significantly older than he actually is, to the point where people on the street or in shops who are clearly older than him refer to him as 'Uncle' (In the Vosch language, 'Uncle', 'Aunt' and variations thereof can be used as a slightly less formal variant of 'Sir', 'Miss', 'Missus', etc.). This isn't helped by the fact that he acts and occasionally feels like an old man

Having been raised in a former Vosch colony, he subscribes to their idea that how a person looks, presents, or chooses to live their life doesn't matter as long as they have something to contribute to society in some way, and also believes that everyone deserves a fair chance to provide that contribution and be fairly compensated for it.

Johan obsesses over profiling, and arguably enjoys the act of gathering information and constructing a psychological profile and history of various people he meets. However he only uses publicly available information to do this, and will only begin to sift through personal information if it's for a job. He's also very quick to back off if he feels that he's overstepping boundaries.

His problem is that he has a tendency to get stuck in his own head, either obsessing and worrying over a case to the point that Anastasia has to remind him to eat, or escalating his own anger by running back small arguments over and over again in his head, or by beating himself up over unavoidable and usually inconsequential mistakes.

He firmly believes that since he's dying anyway, it doesn't matter what happens to him (one of the reasons why he has no problem tracking down cults and hunting demons), and has stated on multiple occasions that where other people have things worth living for, he has things he'd gladly die for. He recognises that the cigarettes he smokes so readily aren't healthy for him, recognises that he likely has developed a kind of dependency on them, but he also feels that he's only got another six months left, so he'll enjoy the few vices he has.

Weapon of Choice

Johan has a pair of ornately made six-shot revolvers. When he and his sister came of age, they were each given a gun (as is tradition in rural Zuurveldt. Also a necessity given that there's no law to protect people out in the Fynbos).

In honour of her memory, he now uses her revolver as well.

Relation to the rest of the team

Sasha: He sees a disturbing amount of himself in her. How he was before the world happened, and despite his seemingly constant fights with her, he's also trying to make sure that she won't repeat his mistakes.

Anastasia: Officially, he's just her employer. Unofficially, she's like a sister to him.

Hans: Originally Hans was just his client, however their shared experience of living on a frontier and working as enforcers of the law in different ways became something for them to bond over as they were forced to work together for longer. Even though there were some nasty kinks that arose in their relationship, Johan was the first person that Hans trusted enough to tell his whole story to.

Maire: Johan's relationship with Maire is quite complex. Originally they started out as acquaintances who met often because of how regularly he had to get her to fix even the most minor of his wounds, and eventually became close friends. Johan acknowledges that there may have eventually been a spark of something more between them (although in what sense, he doesn't know), however he simply doesn't have the lifespan remaining for such a thing to develop.

There, it's mixed with oxygen, hydrogen, and methane, which are ignited upon exhalation, allowing him to breathe fire.

He possesses limited control over his metabolism, enabling him to flawlessly repair damaged tissues and regulate his body temperature to withstand extreme conditions. Additionally, he can enter a state of heightened metabolism, increasing his speed and agility to that of a cheetah. However, staying in this state for over 10 minutes significantly increases his hunger and fatigue.

Backstory: Jūratė Balčiūnas was born on November 24, 2005 in Visaginas, Lithuania. Her father, Motiejus Balčiūnas, a Lithuanian nuclear physicist, had a passion for ancient studies. Her mother, Synnöve Vinogradova, was a botanical researcher of Swedish and Russian descent. She grew up in a household where careful observation and patience were highly valued, taking precedence over hasty decision-making. Her workaholic parents were overprotective, often isolating her from society. They feared something terrible might happen and, as a result, only allowed her to go outside when one or both of them were available to supervise closely, ensuring her safety and shielding her from potentially corrupting influences. She was homeschooled by her parents, receiving instruction in core subjects like mathematics and writing as well as specialised topics related to their own fields of expertise. Additionally, her parents imparted their unconventional beliefs and values, which included militaristic ideologies.

Her childhood home, situated on the edge of dense Lithuanian pine forests, had a nearby greenhouse and an underground laboratory. Synnöve would study native plants in the surrounding forests. However, Jūratė was forbidden from entering the laboratory as her parents feared she might accidentally harm herself with the dangerous chemicals and scientific tools stored there. However, she was allowed to visit the greenhouse, which was filled with an array of beautiful plants from across Europe. Whenever she ventured outside, she would either play with Dovilas, the family's protective, energetic, and cuddly fawn brindle Estrela Mountain Dog puppy, or spend hours mesmerised by sunlight filtering through leaves. She discovered that the patterns found in nature helped her make sense of life's chaos. The forest became her first teacher, instructing her in the art of slowing down and revealing how growth unfolds imperceptibly yet inevitably.

Once the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant was decommissioned, Motiejus was out of a job as he used to work there. While her father navigated a career change and her mother helped him find reliable work, Jūratė intently watched this period of life transform a challenge into an opportunity. Her father transitioned into renewable energy consulting, while her mother expanded her research to include the rehabilitation of industrial sites through native plantings. When Motiejus' proposed renewable energy projects faced fierce opposition from traditional energy advocates, the family endured intense public scrutiny. However, this caught the attention of the Amadeus Syndicate, which decided to hire Motiejus to work on their nuclear energy tests, an offer he readily accepted.

Once she started menstruating at the age of nine, and a month before her tenth birthday in November, her parents revealed that she was a perfected clone of a woman who had become too politically powerful within the Earth Federation. The original was a female representative of Lithuania, related to the influential Balčiūnas family, known for their accomplishments in science and religious scholarship. The eggs and genetic material of this Lithuanian politician were implanted into Synnöve, making her a surrogate mother. Now that her parents were aware of Jūratė's menstruation, they decided it was nearly time to initiate her into the Ptolemaic Army and provide her with a sense of direction. Previously consumed by existential dread due to feelings of anonymity, she began to harbour a glimmer of hope at the prospect of forging her own unique identity.

At the age of 10, her parents freely handed control of their daughter to the Amadeus Syndicate, granting them access to their underground laboratory. She recalls feeling nauseous and afraid as she lay restrained on an operating table, surrounded by intimidating equipment, sterile surfaces, and harsh fluorescent lighting. Over the next three weeks, she endured painful experimentation, including the injection of unknown chemicals and multiple surgeries. These experiments resulted in altered physiology, which manifested as limited metabolism manipulation, nuclear radiation resistance, and the ability to breathe fire. Physical modifications also occurred, such as a more masculine build, Müllerian agenesis, and a malformed penis with hypospadias. Having reached her breaking point, she utilised her new abilities to escape the Amadeus Syndicate scientists and flee her family's home.

As she attempted to flee into the dense pine forests behind her family's home, she was promptly captured by her parents, who revealed themselves to be members of the believers, an elite cult within the Ptolemaic Army with close ties to Ptolemaios and Anastasia. This traumatic event would become her first betrayal, leaving emotional scars that would last a lifetime. Despite this, she held onto the hope that there were trustworthy individuals in the world, and that she would one day meet people who would remain loyal to her. She was indoctrinated into the Ptolemaic Army at a young age, initially serving as an organ harvester for the cult, and received training to become a special forces operative at 13.

During this time, she was treated as a man despite being born female, which led her to adopt a masculine identity and rename herself Juozapas to signify this life-changing milestone. However, he faced harassment and mistreatment from his comrades, who made lewd comments and engaged in unwanted physical contact, but he firmly stood up for himself and asserted her boundaries. Once he turned 16, he was reunited with Dovilas during a private visit from his father, who had undergone a significant transformation at the hands of his parents and the Amadeus Syndicate. Dovilas now resembled General Morden's wolf pet, Enobarbus, but retained his original build and fur coat. However, his transformation had also granted him prominent, fleshy fangs capable of delivering a venomous bite and a diminished need for eating and digestion. He can also breathe a ray of misty snow and freezing icicles that explode upon impact, encasing people in blocks of hard ice.

After a masked soldier attempted to sexually assault him, who had asked to borrow organs for a mission, Dovilas intervened and killed the assailant, prompting Juozapas to conclude that positive change was necessary. He joined Eri's short-lived revolt, which, although unsuccessful, he views as a partial success. The revolt reunited many individuals dissatisfied with the Ptolemaic Army, allowing them to fight together in solidarity. After the revolt, he decided to visit Nida, where he met a middle-aged red-haired, grey-eyed fisherman around his age. The fisherman, named Vaclovas, complimented how beautiful Dovilas looks, and they struck up a conversation about their future aspirations. Vaclovas even taught Juozapas how to fish, offering him encouraging words and wise advice on resilience and overcoming emotional turmoil. He was kind enough to offer Juozapas a place to stay in his home, and as a result, they became good roommates with a strong father-son bond.

Following Hindu funeral rites, his ashes were scattered in the Ganges River, as he had requested. Although his biological father had humble beginnings as a poor labourer, his mother and stepfather knew he was a conscientious man. They believed he was destined for reincarnation into the Vaishya caste due to his hard work accumulating wealth and successfully establishing a tea plantation in Kurseong. His family are dedicated followers of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, a sect of Hinduism and a branch of Vaishnavism that worships Krishna as the supreme being and the source of all avataric incarnations of God. To signify his adherence to his faith, he received his Urdhva Pundra at the age of three, made from the mud of Vrindavan.

His childhood home, situated near his biological father's tea estate, stood at the crossroads of various bustling markets and the edges of the Himalayan foothills. From his bedroom window, he was able to watch the steady stream of traders, tourists, and locals navigating the narrow streets, while occasionally spotting a leopard slinking through the tea gardens at dusk. Priyabrata would come up with silly stories about the lives of these strangers, letting his imagination run wild as he intently observed them. Beyond people-watching, his daily routine consisted of household chores to keep everything tidy and making time for daily worship of Krishna. He also assisted his stepfather in tending to the tea gardens, cultivating an assortment of tea plants, including pineapple sage, orange mint, and holy basil.

At the age of 8, his half-aunt and uncle from Tamil Nadu were visiting, and he spent the day playing with his two younger cousins near the Himalayan foothills. After a round of choa chui and a game of marbles, Priyabrata heard a high-pitched mewing sound nearby. Investigating the noise, he came across a mountain goat kid with an injured leg that had wandered near his family's tea garden. Despite the mother's aggressive attempts to protect it, he calmly approached the kid. Speaking softly to the adult goat, he treated the kid's wound using his mother's first-aid kit, while his two younger cousins watched in awe. The incident soon became a local legend, and the tea plantation workers came to recognise him as fearless.

At 11, he became disillusioned with his male identity, having always struggled to fit in with the male crowd and feeling more comfortable and accepted by his female peers. In private, he began exploring gender-nonconforming behaviours and attitudes, such as trying on his mother's clothing, as a means of discovering what felt most authentic to him. Ultimately, he came to realise that he wished to be validated as a girl and break free from the constraints of boyhood. Two months before his 12th birthday, he bravely came out to his parents after dinner. However, they reacted poorly to the revelation, promptly disowning him and kicking him out of the house. They refused to accept a son who didn't conform to traditional masculine norms, citing his perceived effeminacy and cowardice as a stark contrast to the fearlessness that had become legendary. After renaming himself Priyanka and embracing his female identity with matching pronouns, he was forced to rely on street economies to survive. He offered her a way out, promising safety, acceptance, and eternal life, and took her to a Ptolemaic Army base located beyond the Himalayan foothills. During her time with the Ptolemaic Army, Priyanka was indoctrinated into their militaristic and cruel ideologies. She underwent specialised training as a special forces operative and developed expertise as a skilled Hover Vehicle pilot. Over time, Priyanka utilised her medical skills to become an invaluable asset to her comrades, functioning as a combat medic who performed complex tasks such as surgical removal of bullets. She would also brew cups of tea for her patients whenever she had access to the necessary equipment and could forage for the right plants.

She faced mistreatment from a small handful of comrades due to her gender identity, ranging from transphobic comments to violent physical beatings. When the abuse became more severe and sexual in nature, she decided to join Eri's revolt after learning about it from Yohanes, a trusted friend and former patient. Following the rebellion, she joined the Regular Army and dedicated her medical expertise to caring for wounded soldiers and special forces operatives. She also began exploring horticulture and formed meaningful friendships with accepting comrades who valued her for who she was.

His Arabic-Indonesian father was a chili pepper and onion farmer, while his mother, a Balinese immigrant, worked in Lombok's electricity and gas industry. On his father's side, he had a small number of Sasak and Arabic relatives, and on his mother's side, many Balinese Hindu family members. His father practiced a blend of Buddhism and Islam, while his mother was Hindu, influences that would shape Yohanes' own spiritual beliefs. Raised with love and encouragement, he developed a deep respect for nature and a strong sense of self and reverence for others and the divine. As a child, he often assisted his father in harvesting and preparing the chili peppers and onions to be sold on the market.

While being babysat by his Balinese aunt, who was visiting her sister, his parents were busy transporting chili peppers, onions, and gas tanks. Tragically, they died in a car accident when the road, poorly repaired, collapsed under the weight of their truck and a passing semi-truck carrying heavy logs. The news left 7-year-old Yohanes utterly devastated, almost too much for his young mind to comprehend. His relatives quickly had to figure out who would care for him. As no other relative volunteered, leaving Yohanes feeling unwanted by both sides of his family, his paternal grandmother, Nirmala, took him in.

He struggled with decision-making and relied heavily on others for suggestions due to his upbringing by Nirmala. Whenever he made a decision that didn't align with her expectations, he faced physical and verbal abuse, forcing him to conform to her will. This cycle left him feeling powerless and incapable of making his own decisions. To avoid conflict and potential abuse, Yohanes would often seek his narcissistic grandmother's approval before taking action. If she agreed, she would closely supervise him to ensure compliance with her expectations. If she disagreed, he would abandon his plans to avoid angering her.

At 13, while walking to school, he suddenly collapsed from excruciating pain. His grandmother had brutally beaten him for watching the 2012 TV show Cherrybelle: Chibi Chibi Burger, which she disapproved of. When he regained consciousness, he found himself in a secluded, privately-owned bungalow on the outskirts of his village. A woman dressed as a Christian nun tended to his wounds, nursing him back from the brink of death. After feeding him brunch, as he had missed breakfast, she introduced herself as Sister Lucy. With compassion and interest, she listened intently as Yohanes shared his life story, prompted by her gentle inquiry about the events leading up to his collapse.

After he finished explaining everything, Sister Lucy manipulated him into accompanying her, leading him deep into the Indonesian jungle. This marked the beginning of his involvement with the Ptolemaic Army, who would indoctrinate him into their militaristic and twisted ideology. Despite his training as a special forces operative, they exploited his indecisiveness and taught him the fundamentals of sniper work, allowing them greater control over his actions.

Not much is known about his time in the Ptolemaic Army, but he often describes it as heavily oppressive due to constant monitoring and isolation. As a sniper, he worked independently with little involvement in special forces operations. Despite this, he developed expertise in handling and polishing throwing knives as well as performing routine maintenance on his rifle. The isolation eventually took its toll, and he grew tired of being unable to make his own choices. Seeking change, he ultimately joined Eri's rebellion. During the revolt, he received his scar when a special forces operative attempted to ambush him. Fortunately, Priyanka intervened, saving his life by slitting the enemy's throat.

His parents encouraged his interest, which evolved into a love for biology art, abstract art, and particularly surrealism. His father shared street wisdom with him, hoping he wouldn't follow in his footsteps and pursue a life of crime. Meanwhile, his mother shared stories about her military career, along with some of her distrust of the U.S. government.

He deeply cherished his family and was fiercely protective of Bisera, enjoying quality time with her whenever possible. Despite facing bullying due to a facial deformity, he never dwelled on the negative opinions. Instead, he drew strength from his parents' unconditional love and acceptance. As he grew older, he became assertive enough to stand up for himself, politely but firmly shutting down those who tried to mock him. If that didn't work, his mother would intervene, speaking sensibly to his bullies and, if necessary, informing their parents about the situation.

Once he was driven back home and discovered the tragic news from the police and investigators at the scene, Klajdi's parents decided to take him in, feeling uneasy about leaving behind an orphaned child. Klajdi became like a brother to Zdravko, and his adopted parents treated him like a cherished member of the family. During this time, he struggled to find love, often facing exploitation or fleeting romantic encounters that went nowhere. Additionally, he discovered the plight of the Albanian people in North Macedonia, where social segregation and mistrust persisted.

At 18, he walked home from the local convenience store, taking a shortcut to avoid being late for his friend's birthday party. However, his journey was brutally interrupted when an unknown assailant knocked him out cold and stuffed him into the trunk of a vehicle. Two hours later, he regained consciousness in a dingy basement, tied to a chair with rope and surrounded by intimidating figures wearing gas masks. That day marked the beginning of Zdravko’s indoctrination into the Ptolemaic Army as he faced psychological manipulation that exploited his emotional vulnerabilities stemming from the loss of his family and struggles with love. He underwent rigorous training as a special forces operative and learned to pilot the MH-6J Masknell Ver. P.M. As he progressed, he was steadily indoctrinated into the Ptolemaic Army's militaristic and close-minded ideology.

He endured verbal abuse from some comrades due to his facial deformity, prompting him to wear his gas mask at all times, removing it only when absolutely necessary. On one occasion, he suffered severe injuries after standing up to a group of masked soldiers who mocked his appearance and bullied the few friends he had managed to befriend. They spared his life, recognising his potential as a loyal servant to the Avatar of Evil. To cope with the pain of bullying, abuse, and indoctrination, Zdravko turned to smuggled gin and Rakı. He also used alcohol as a means to ignore the heinous actions he was forced to commit as the moral weight became too much to bear.

Upon discovering his artistic talent, the cult coerced him into creating art pieces, providing a fleeting distraction from his misery. However, upon completion, the cult would seize his work and sell it on the black market for exorbitant sums. As he was nearing his breaking point, Zdravko was approached by Mikuláš, who was seeking companionship for comfort after a near-fatal encounter with a masked soldier. After striking up a conversation and sharing a bottle of Rakı, he found himself drawn to Mikuláš' kindness and empathy, feelings that both thrilled and intimidated him. As their connection deepened, they formed a strong bond, eventually expressing their feelings and deciding to start dating.

He joined Eri's rebellion alongside Mikuláš, driven by similar motivations and a deep-seated frustration at being treated as a freak of nature. A small group of friends he had formed during his time in the Ptolemaic Army joined him, but tragically died at the hands of the Phantom Strike and masked soldiers during Eri's short-lived revolt. In the aftermath, he attended rehab with Thandolwethu, a move that aided in his recovery and reduced his reliance on alcohol. He also reunited with Klajdi and his adopted parents, who had feared the worst and were overjoyed to see him alive and well.

Dezső

Real name: Dezső Sárközi

Abilities: During his time as a masked soldier, he received magical training, granting him mastery over the arcane disciplines of abjuration, earthly divination, theurgism, dream walking, glamouring, and nominative manipulation.

As a former member of the Ptolemaic Army cult, he was required to form a pact with the Avatar of Evil, granting him a unique ability infused with a hint of psionic energy, a trait shared by all masked soldiers who have undergone this ritual. In a gesture of dignified respect, his left arm was amputated, but it rapidly regenerated into a new limb. This replacement arm is covered in spiky, waterproof fur that features a marbled pattern of purplish-black and green-grey. Notably, his hand boasts saffron-yellow digital and metacarpal pads, while his slender fingers culminate in slightly curved turquoise claws.

In the middle of his forearm are three concentric rows of ten 1 cm holes from which he can produce thread-like fibers generated from his own blood. The blood from his left arm has an ink-like consistency, being semi-thick, and it partially coagulates when exposed to air, yet retains some flexibility. He releases the specialised blood on mental command, allowing them to be used for stitching wounds. However, the threads are extremely sharp and constricting. If mishandled, they can cause harm to both himself and the person he's trying to heal due to the blood's hardened state.

He often seeks refuge behind Eri when overwhelmed by paranoia, finding solace in her maternal presence, which reminds him of the mother who abandoned him. Despite being a melancholic individual, he’s deeply empathetic and sensitive to the suffering of others.

He has a habit of socially withdrawing, especially when he feels emotionally overwhelmed because he desperately needs solitude to sort out his feelings. He was born into a middle-class family, but his father, a wealthy man, abandoned them, leaving behind only a large stack of cash for his mother and grandmother after Dezső's difficult birth. His grandmother was a wise, supportive, and kind-hearted woman who offered guidance and hope to her daughter and grandson. Her arthritic condition and declining mental health limited her ability to provide more substantial support. His mother was a genuinely nice and affectionate person, but she could be strict, particularly when frustrated by his occasional bratty behaviour. Although he was curious about his father, his mother's bitterness prevented her from discussing him. However, she did reveal that he bore a physical resemblance to his father.

During his elementary school years, he endured relentless bullying due to his weight and spoiled behaviour. The constant ridicule led to deep-seated insecurities about his appearance and overwhelming shame about how he treated others. As a coping mechanism, he gradually became socially withdrawn and developed selective mutism, struggling to process his emotions and finding silence to be his only refuge. Upon completing the 4th grade, his grandmother passed away due to health complications caused by osteoporosis and a brain hemorrhage sustained in an accident that Dezső prefers not to discuss. The situation was further worsened when his mother depleted the money left by his father, allocating the funds towards his grandmother's medical expenses, household necessities, and gifts for her own family.

His mother faced significant financial struggles because of her persistent bad luck in finding a stable, well-paying job. On his 11th birthday, she made the difficult decision to abandon him, citing a lack of resources to provide adequate care. Her patience had also worn thin due to his selective mutism, a condition she didn't know how to address. Noticing a newly constructed institution on the outskirts of Tihany, she persuaded Dezső to seek refuge there, assuring him it was an orphanage. With a swift goodbye, she departed, leaving him confused, scared, and on the verge of tears. Unbeknownst to him, the institution was not an orphanage, but a hideout operated by the Ptolemaic Army's cult, designed to lure vulnerable children and unsuspecting parents seeking to give up their child.

A group of masked soldiers noticed his presence and manipulated him with feigned affection and false promises of eternal life and unconditional acceptance. With nowhere else to turn and oblivious to their sinister intentions, he fell under their control. The cult thoroughly brainwashed him, indoctrinating him with the twisted ideologies of the Ptolemaic Army. His training included ancient history, the duties of a masked soldier, wizardry, dark magic, and the Quechua language. He also received basic military training, which included the handling of ancient technology and operation of the Ptolemaic Saucer. He rapidly adapted to his new lifestyle, becoming a fiercely loyal cultist and a skilled technologist.

However, his loyalty would gradually falter after he was subjected to years of sexual abuse, mainly by female members of the cult. They attempted to disguise their abuse as expressions of love and appreciation for the perfect yet fragile bodies crafted with care by the Avatar of Evil, which he believed were genuine. Yet, a part of him knew this was a lie, a desperate attempt to justify the horrors inflicted upon him. As time passed, his loyalty to the cult would wane further after witnessing other masked soldiers brutally mistreat and slaughter the soldiers of their paramilitary forces, often over minor issues. He also discovered that most of the cult's sacrifices typically involved the harvesting of organs from innocent children and their own comrades, who either resisted or willingly surrendered their bodies to the Avatar of Evil.

The straw that broke the camel's back for him was the moment Anastasia announced that he was slated to be the next masked soldier sacrificed to appease the Avatar of Evil, a gruesome tradition that occurred every 16 years. Horrified by the prospect of losing his life to a deity he no longer believed in, and at the hands of people who had shamelessly exploited his vulnerability, he reached his breaking point. Deciding he had had enough, he joined Eri's revolt after being approached by a couple of fellow masked soldiers who shared his disillusionment with the Ptolemaic Army's wickedness. When he was on the brink of execution by a Phantom Strike mercenary who had captured him, Amilcare intervened, rescuing him and bringing him to safety amidst the chaotic retreat. Finally free from the cult's grasp, he turned to libraries, nature, software development, and cybersecurity programming as a means of distraction and rediscovering his sense of purpose.

Hannah Ray Sinclair was born on a chilly spring evening to her mother Natalia Sinclair. She was a healthy baby girl with little wisps of blonde hair and the doctor who helped deliver her joked that she would be a star someday just like her mother. It wasn’t far from the truth.

Hannah was surrounded by the spotlight even before she was in it. She was well aware of the paparazzi even at a young age and some of her earliest memories were of people taking photos of her and her mother out at cafes or walking down the street. It was something that always made her uncomfortable but it was a part of her life that she quickly realized she would have to get used to. In 2004, when Hannah was only six years old, Natalia was offered a roll for a big movie in Hollywood, so Hannah was left with her grandparents for a few months while the movie was shooting, but during that time, she was offered other roles and landing auditions, so she came back to London and packed up Hannah’s things and moved her to Los Angeles with her. 

Hannah remembered the paparazzi was even worse there than it was in London and after her mother’s first movie came out, it only got worse. Hannah hated going out in public with her mother because she knew they would get bombarded by cameras and creeps, but that never kept Hannah away from the spotlight fully. She remembered walking on the red carpet with her mother and people were eating it up, thinking it was so adorable to see Natalia with her little daughter. Interviewers would tell Natalia that Hannah had that star power and asked if she would ever get her into child acting, and Natalia always said that was up for Hannah to decide. There was an interest in acting, but she mostly loved music. During one of the many events she was dragged along to with her mother and nanny to watch her, Hannah remembered the live orchestra that played at the event and she loved the sound of the violin. She begged her mother to let her take lessons and she was signed up that same night. Hannah loved playing and she loved music theory. But Hannah didn’t want to stop at only knowing one instrument, she wanted to learn even more. She got her first guitar at the age of ten and started lessons for that as well as continuing her violin lessons. 

Hannah knew she wanted to write songs and she wanted to sing for people. It’s what she started doing when she got a guitar and she would practice for hours and hours a day. As much as she loved her violin, she loved her guitar even more. It was when she started high school that Hannah started acting. She joined the drama club in her school and she was given lead roles and she performed for years. It was easy to get lost in her art and ignore the fact that her mother was always gone for shoots or when she was home she was in bed with a stranger. It was hard for Hannah to only feel seen by her mother when she was dragged to award shows and red carpets for those cute mother/daughter photos, only to be discarded when they got home. Natalia never showed up to Hannah’s performances because she was always too busy, and she never had time to listen to any of Hannah’s new songs either. 

When Hannah was sixteen she was invited to an award show with her mother, where she met a music producer and she told him about her own music. They talked, she shared some of her original songs with him, and next thing she knew, she was in a recording studio. Hannah made her first EP titled When You Decide To Love Me, featuring four songs and two were played on the radio. Even though Hannah knew the only reason she got her chance in the studio was because of her Sinclair name, she asked for the EP to only have her name as Hannah Ray.  The first time she heard Stars and Dollar Signs playing on her car radio, she screamed and cried happy tears. Life was good, Hannah was becoming successful as well, and even though she was struggling with the anxiety that came with what little fame she had and depression from what her home life was like, she knew she should be happy. 

Things came crashing down in 2016. Hannah overheard some of the girls in her high school’s drama club complaining that Hannah was only getting lead roles because of who her mother is. Hannah started to spiral a bit, because she knew that she was only given the chance in the studio because of her mother’s name and fame, but she didn’t think it was the same in high school. She deserved those roles, didn’t she? Hannah decided to press on and she even hired an acting coach to make sure she was as good as everyone was telling her she was. Even though there was that anxiety and doubt there, she continued her work because she loved acting and music too much to let anxiety and other people’s opinions destroy it. 

2017 was one of the worst years of Hannah’s life. She was not famous for her own name, Hannah Ray, but she was seen as dollar signs due to her mother. Not what one would think, as in she could make them money by endorsing a product or something, but ransom. A man attempted to kidnap Hannah one night when she was leaving her violin lessons, and the only reason he didn’t succeed was because her driver was closer than he realized. There was a full on police investigation and it was theorized he wanted ransom money from Natalia. But Natalia couldn’t even show up to the precinct or even answer a phone call while Hannah was talking to police, so Hannah absently wondered if she would’ve just been a goner if the man was successful. He was never found. 

This was hard on Hannah and made her fall deeper into a depression and her anxiety became so awful she had panic attacks daily. It was this and Natalia’s lack of sympathy for her own daughter that Julia and Thomas Sinclair decided to offer a spare room in their home in London to her. Hannah accepted the invitation and left LA behind to try to live a quiet life in London. About a year later, Hannah started getting back into acting. She took roles in theaters in London and she never stopped her music. She was recognized as her mother’s daughter and she decided to embrace that she would get farther using the Sinclair name. She knew she was good, so there was no need to keep tearing herself down. With offers and needing more gigs, she ended up moving back to the United States to live in New York, where she discovered the Sinclair name gave her more connections than she realized and she ended up on Broadway. 

Hannah could never forget the way she learned about her mother’s passing through headlines. She was in the middle of a show and after curtain call, she went down to her dressing room and her friend was there, showing her a headline about Natalia Sinclair, dead. Hannah rushed to her own phone and found missed call after missed call. She couldn’t even cry and that made her feel guilty, but when she finally did cry it made her feel stupid. She and her mother weren’t close at all, so why was it hurting her this way or why wasn’t it hurting her enough? Grief is a strange thing. 

When asked to return to London so she could read her mother’s will and sort through some of her things, she saw that she left a diamond ring to Jasper Morgan, a name Hannah had only seen in movie credits or in articles. She knew they worked together at one time, but why was she giving her prized possession to him. A ring, of all things. When she asked her grandparents if they understood the significance of this, they told her the truth. Jasper Morgan was her father, a taboo subject in her home for decades. Every time she would ask Natalia about her father, Natalia would ignore her or tell her never to ask again. So Hannah stopped. 

Curious and angry that all these years even her grandparents knew her father but wouldn’t tell her, Hannah decided she was going to find him. And that’s what led her to a little beach town called Aurora Bay where she did find her father. She stayed in Aurora Bay for a few months before having to leave to go back to New York for a while, and now she’s back in town to stay.

Ji Yohan

Nacido como un niño normal en una acomodada familia, prontamente descubrió un tabú que no debía probar siendo este la carne humana. Desde pequeño su apariencia y habilidades comenzaron a cambiar, haciéndolo más fuerte que antes y de sangrantes pupilas rojas, convirtiéndolo a ojos de sus padres en un “monstruo” que encerraban en una prístina jaula de metal, experimentando con él para buscar curarlo de su enfermedad, de es maldición. Sus padres perdieron la cordura en el proceso, utilizando a su propia sangre y hermanas de Yohan como los primeros experimentos para intentar “construir” un domador de bestias, alguien que pudiese controlar la insaciable hambre del pequeño. Sus cuerpos fallaron el procedimiento y agonizando en dolor, suplicando por sus vidas, fueron la primera gran cena y banquete de Yohan.

A partir de ahí, se formó el freak show, un circo deambulante y mágico que se movía entre pueblos y ciudades, con su principal atracción encantando a los humanos normales, el monstruo frío. Yohan es atado de muñecas y tobillos a grandes cadenas que cuelgan de lo alto de su jaula, posándolo sobre un trono de hierro con diferentes formas donde escuche la sangre, especialmente de los cuatro palos de la baraja. La jaula es fría, quizá a bajo cero, haciendo al monstruo lento y adormilado para deleite de todo aquel que quiera observarlo y maravillarse. Su cabello bajo las luces tenues de la carpa luce azulino y sus ojos brillan como los de un monstruo depredador, todos sus dientes se han vuelto filosos y reacciona ante la esencia de las personas, gruñendo y mostrando su faceta hambrienta al percibir humanos en la cercanía. Yohan conserva en su área de trabajo, los cráneos de todas sus víctimas, seguramente sus hermanas entre ellos.

Tiene momentos de conciencia, siendo un ser humano normal y corriente, mas no carga con la culpa de sus victimas ni tampoco de todos los niños que prosiguieron a su hermana, algunos fallidos y otros victoriosos a la experimentación.

Cuando pierde conciencia, puede atacar a diestra y siniestra, no logra diferenciar entre amigos y familia, por ende, es enjaulado días antes por sus propios padres a quienes solía rogarles que no le hicieran eso, que podía soportar.

A veces se cuestiona que pasará cuando encuentren la cura, puesto que ahora será el único ser humano normal, no un monstruo, en aquella enorme carpa de circo.

1. did you get new muses this year? what was the easiest to play?

I did get to add a few new ones this year and I'm happy they got to have quite a bit of attention from the get-go, I got the chance to write some fun threads with them and they did survive the small muse purge. I think the ones that were easiest to play are Kate and Yohan since they are just so friendly outgoing.

6. did you get new headcanons during this year?

Absolutely. I don't think I would be able write them all down on here, that might take me a bit of digging through my posts, but other than Yongsun and Minsung (the usual suspects that I always have the most muse for and they always get some new headcanons every year) I think Nao got a bit of a spotlight too. They're also one of my oldest of muses that I absolutely love along with Min and Yongsun, but they kind of always fell into obscurity when it came to people being interested in interacting with them. But they got lots of attention this year (esp from one very curious fox haha) and they even got 2 new verses - their angel one and their Silent Hill one, although I haven't added the Silent Hill one on their bio yet. I think moving forward I'll mostly write them either in their Jigsaw verse or one of their supernatural verses, since they're a bit more approachable in those and there are also more options when it comes to thread ideas.

Yohan não podia ser a linha trêmula no desenho perfeito. Recusava-se a ser a imperfeição em meio ao que fora meticulosamente construído. Não havia espaço para um erro; e erros, fossem quais fossem, deveriam ser sempre corrigidos, eliminados.

No entanto, ainda tremia diante do pecado de sentir.

Dos seus primeiros anos de infância até o início de sua vida adulta, Yohan viveu em Weinheim, na Alemanha, junto à mãe e sua irmã mais velha. A fuga da metrópole sempre havia sido um sonho da mãe, que preferia a vida calma e tranquila em meio à natureza. O pai de Yohan era o completo oposto e, mesmo mantendo-se casado com a mulher, continuou morando e trabalhando na capital coreana, onde criava sozinho o filho mais velho do casal — o futuro herdeiro da empresa de arquitetura da família e de todo o prestígio que vinha junto a isso. Yohan pouco ressentiu o pai ou o irmão, apesar de, desde muito novo, tentar compreender aquela dinâmica familiar. Via-os em datas comemorativas, quando iam todos para Seul. O pai nunca os havia visitado na Alemanha.

Durante sua adolescência, estudou em um internato em Heidelberg, uma cidade maior e próxima de onde havia se criado. Já tinha seu futuro decidido e recebia o apoio da mãe: iria estudar na Universidade de Heidelberg, focando seus estudos em História da Arte, tanto europeia quanto do leste asiático. Desde pequeno, sempre demonstrou interesse por todo tipo de arte: música, pintura, literatura, dança. Estudou um pouco de cada, tendo professores particulares renomados, mas mostrava uma aptidão e um amor maior pela pintura. As paredes da grande casa da família eram decoradas com seus quadros, sempre perfeitos. Os anos de internato foram, de certa forma, conturbados, e ele os passou com certa apatia. Não se encaixava com a maioria dos jovens, mas sempre preferiu sua própria companhia. Ingressou na faculdade da maneira que havia planejado, e tudo parecia um sonho.

Continuava sendo o garoto introspectivo e perfeccionista de sempre, mas os estudos eram sua paixão, e havia encontrado algumas poucas pessoas que compartilhavam de seus interesses. No entanto, ainda em seu segundo ano ali, tudo mudou. A pressão imposta pelo pai levou o irmão mais velho de Yohan a cometer suicídio. Agora, havia uma vaga aberta para o novo herdeiro do legado dos Jung... e Yohan foi o escolhido para preenchê-la.

Não negava que se sentia atraído pela arquitetura. Em parte, por um desejo de conectar-se com o pai distante, com a família à qual ele queria pertencer, com o irmão que sentia falta. Também porque havia arte naquilo. As catedrais alemãs sempre lhe encheram o coração de admiração. Então, Yohan aceitou, convencido de que faria tudo pela memória de seu irmão, ignorando a centelha de um anseio egoísta de agradar o pai.

Assim, aos 21 anos, retornou ao país natal que lhe era completamente estranho. Não demorou para iniciar suas aulas na Universidade Nacional de Seul, no curso de arquitetura. Sendo sempre perfeccionista e absurdamente dedicado a tudo que se propunha, não encontrou grandes dificuldades. Contudo, o estresse que os estudos lhe traziam e a pressão do pai, que já havia o colocado em diversos projetos na empresa, fizeram com que Yohan precisasse recorrer a soluções mais... imediatas.

Algumas pílulas o ajudavam a manter-se acordado e alerta quando a data final de um projeto ou de um trabalho começava a ameaçá-lo. Outras o acalmavam, entorpeciam e o ajudavam a finalmente dormir quando o sono passava a ser um desconhecido. Nessa rotina, pouco tempo lhe sobrava para deixar-se sentir.

Desde que havia se mudado para o país, morava em um apartamento pequeno perto da faculdade. Mas a arquitetura cinza dos prédios da cidade o deixavam ainda mais deprimido e, encontrando nisso a desculpa perfeita, convenceu o pai a comprar-lhe um apartamento mais afastado, onde poderia trabalhar com tranquilidade e segurança. Não contava para ele que, também, buscava distância do homem e de suas cobranças. Assim, conseguiu seu canto no Acropolis Complex.
