hi! im new to your blog and discovered you through your Matty/Taylor fake dating fic and I just loved it. I hope you update it soon because the fic is perfect. I'm fairly new to caring about Matty (and by extension Matty/Taylor) because TTPD made me so fascinated by how messy they seemed. TTPD got me to read fanfic about them which previously only happened with Haylor (my beloved) and Tayvis. I think Matty has joined my list of Taylor's muses that I actually am interested in.

Following from that, do you have any recommendations for the 1975 songs? I'm not sure where to start.

Also, very excited to see Fictional!George meet Fictional!Taylor.

Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure when or if I'm going to be updating YKWTCI again. I've been having a lot of complicated feelings about Taylor lately and am currently not a huge fan of hers anymore- more power to the people that are, and I think she's incredibly talented, she's just not really for me anymore at the moment. I'm not saying inspiration won't strike and that I won't update it again, I just don't really have any kind of time line for it at the moment.

I also feel like I need to add a disclaimer that I really, really, really dislike Kelce and have for a very, very long time. (He's a fucking glorified oversized wide receiver and should not be part of the tight end conversations because he doesn't play the position fully- you will not be changing my mind on this I have the stats to back me up. Gronk is the greatest tight end of all time because he PLAYED THE POSITION FULLY and also Kelce only has success when runs the routes that are literally referred to as GRONK ROUTES because they where created for / popularized BY GRONK) I am a sports girlie at heart, I love football, and I hate the Chiefs so much.

In terms of The 1975 songs - WOW this feels like being asked to pick my favorite child lol I'd say start with their first self titled album and then move through the discography in chronological order. That's how I did it back in the dark ages (I didn't have a choice their self titled album was their only album when I started listening to them lol) BUT in terms of my favorites at this particular moment - it's always changing:

First off, thank you so much for reading and for taking the time to send me this ask! In terms of if I'm planning on updating You Know Where the City Is and the potential timeline for that, I honestly have no idea. At the moment the entire ~situation~ just kind of makes me sad and feels kind of icky, BUT that could also change at any time because even though I'm not the biggest fan of IRL Taylor at the moment, I do still care about my fictional version. I'm sorry this is such a non answer but I really just don't know and I am very sorry 😞

In terms of the chapters I have written - they are super, super rough and more skeletal than full chapters, and therefore not something I really see myself posting, especially when I might eventually return to the fic. Thank you so much for the support and for reading! I'm sorry that I don't have a better answer for you, and I hope you are enjoying my other fics!

I was wondering if you are considering continuing it or if that's not in the cards, since I noticed your last update was in January. No pressure at all, obviously, I'm a fan fic writer myself and I've got more unfinished fics than I can count lol. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure when or if I'm going to update YKWTCI, I really enjoyed working on that fic, however all of the irl drama with Matty and Taylor has left me feeling weird about the fic (especially considering I started posting it way before whatever May 2023 was) and I also have just been having a lot of weird feelings about Taylor at the moment as well. I don't want to say I'll never update the fic again, because I'm sure I will eventually, I just don't know when. I'm sorry for taking so long to respond and also not being able to give you a good answer. I hope you enjoy some of my other works though and that your writing is going well!! Ahhh thank you so much! I'm so grateful for the continued support even with all the weirdness between the two fandoms. It makes me sad too because I really enjoyed working on that fic and I had a lot more chapters outlined. Unfortunately every time I've tried to work on it since all the album stuff I just get sad and feel kind of icky which is the OPPOSITE of what fanfiction is supposed to make a person feel. Lol they are a for sure also all shouting over one another 😂 but yes, ATKH Fictional!Matty is so very grateful he has a job, he would have maybe appreciated like... an ice pack to lay on and having to not fall off as many horses but like he'll deal with the concussion since it means he has a job and a place to live. But you are very correct about OAF Fictional!Matty, he wants MORE plushies, ALL of the caramel snacks and also an engagement ring yesterday, if they're doing this they are DOING IT. Infection Verse Fictional!Matty is very happy with his engagement ring but also still pissed about the whole Fictional!George being the one to find him when he had food poisoning thing, he still gets embarrassed when he thinks about it 😬 He also wants to know why it had to take SO LONG for them to get back together. Ducklings Fictional!Matty is just like WHY WHY DO YOU HATE ME and YKWTCI Fictional!Matty just wants to know if his story is ever going to get an ending 😂

LOL Imma be honest idk if my Fictional!Matties would get along 😂 ATKH Fictional!Matty would be super awkward and want to talk about horses the entire time. On a Friday Fictional!Matty is kind of a bitch so he would probably be super standoffish. Make Way for Duckling's Fictional!Matty is just like... trying to grow a child and doesn't have time for this. Infection Verse Fictional!Matty (depending when in the timeline) is jealous everyone has a Fictional!George but him and You Know Where the City Is Fictional!Matty thinks he's having a bad trip because why are there suddenly five of him and why do they all look slightly different...

But also a cross over fic could be so fun 🤣 and now I'm thinking about it more and majorly amusing myself lol Thank you so much for reading and for sending me this ask - I doubt I'll ever write the cross over fic but I am now giggling to myself thinking about it. Idk if this is like asking too much and against your tendency to remain mysterious and shocking in your writing 😭 but which fictional! Matty do you think is going to go through it the most out of the entire course of the fic out of your current wips? Bc from the way I see it rn, MOST of them are rlly struggling

Omg this is a very good question. They all suffer so much in so many different ways.

I think that I'd say, at this point at least, it's either Ducklings Fictional!Matty or On a Friday Fictional!Matty. In those two he is very much unable to get out of his own and makes it worse for himself constantly. Meanwhile in All the King's Horses, awful things have happened to him but for the most part he's not self sabotaging constantly like he does in Ducklings and On a Friday.

Honorable mention for You Know Where the City Is - he's too fucked up in most of that fic to even realize how shit his situation is.

In the infection verse he does suffer greatly, however we *know* that one has a happy ending, we've seen it with them getting married and having Ava.

Which one do YOU think includes the most suffering?

Don't worry anon, I too was a little sad that YKWTCI didn't win the poll! I should have known that Ducklings was going to be the winner though 😂 I don't know why I thought any of the other fics had a chance! also!!! as the self-proclaimed #1 fan of YKWTCI I was very excited for this update and it did not disappoint (tuesdays have quickly become my most anticipated day of the week thanks to u and ur fics)).

Poor fictional!taylor and fictional!matty are clearly going through it & you portray their struggles so well. I am especially loving how you portray fictional!matty & his struggles with his new found fame as taylor’s boyfriend ((also the fact that the money from fictional!taylors drawer went ‘missing???’… hmmm wonder who took that - such a good detail!!!)

also fictional!george makes an appearance?????!!! YAY. I love me some fictional!george and cannot wait for a fictional!tay & george interaction — i feel that the angst & jealousy may just be unmatched.

Thank you so much for following along on the January OTP Prompt Journey! It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be, but I had a lot of fun with it, and am super proud that I was actually able to finish them all! (And also so grateful for everyone that read them- thank you so much for being so wonderful and encouraging!) I'm smiling so hard at the idea that Tuesdays are becoming a favorite day because of the updates! Thank you so much for following along and the continued support of this fanfic endeavor! I am *also* a huge YKWTCI fan, and am so happy that people are still willing to give it a chance after all of the May drama with these two IRL. I was really excited about this update and am so happy it didn't disappoint!

Oh my gosh thank you so much 🥺 Fictional!Taylor and Fictional!Matty are both very sad and fucked up in their own ways in this fic, (I've been calling them my fictional bisexual disaster duo lol) and I have really enjoyed writing them and developing their characters and motivations. Getting to explore Fictional!Matty's relationship with his essentially "over night" fame in this fic is also a lot of fun- I can't imagine a universe where the character I've created with all of his issues would handle it well, and that it wouldn't have an impact on his self worth only being "desired" because of who his parents, and then later his "girlfriend" are. I was also way too excited about the missing money bit 😂 and was so very much hoping that someone would comment on it so a HUGE thank you for that😂 (this is like when I was very eagerly waiting for someone to comment on Fictional!Matty doing coke in Fictional!Taylor's bathroom and her totally missing it- and then being SO EXCITED when someone commented about it, I'm like yes, excellent, my hints are obvious enough lol)

We still have another chapter before Fictional!Taylor and Fictional!George meet (the meeting will be going down in lucky Chapter 13!) but I am SO EXCITED about their pissing match as they essentially both try and mark Fictional!Matty as theirs meanwhile Fictional!Matty has no idea what's going on and is just trying to make it through the day 😬 I was really excited about this chapter though and getting a little introduction to Fictional!George since he hadn't physically appeared yet.

AHHH Thank you for checking out the Equestrian AU as well! As very much a horse girl, that fic is so much fun for me to write and I am very much my own target audience (then again, I am pretty much always my own niche target audience lol) If I ever am just... assuming that people know too many things about horses let me know and i can try and clarify more. Horse things are just such a part of my day to day life (and the day to day life of the people I am surrounded by) that I sometimes forget that not everyone like, knows what a martingale is. One sided enemies to lovers is one of my FAVORITE things and I am having SO MUCH FUN writing it! Fictional!George hates poor Fictional!Matty so much and Fictional!Matty just wants them to be friends 🥺 I can't wait to get into this version of Fictional!Matty's past- if you think he's soft now just WAIT you are going to want to give him the biggest hug (I know I do!) I also really enjoy writing bitchy Fictional!George and it's been a lot of fun to explore a different dynamic with him!

I love working on You Know Where the City Is so much, and it has such a special place in my heart, and is so very self indulgent (it rivals the Equestrian AU on that front lol) and I know it's not the *favorite* fic of mine (I am very aware that honor belongs to Ducklings haha) BUT I love it and I get so excited whenever I finish and post a chapter, and I am SO grateful for nice asks like these and hearing that you enjoyed it as well! I had a lot of fun with this chapter in particular, I was really excited to show more of Fictional!Matty and Fictional!George's dynamic - since up until this point we've only seen Unreliable Narrators Fictional!Taylor and Fictional!Matty's view on things. The next two chapters are outlined to be big ones (NYE, and then finally, in Chapter 13, Fictional!Taylor and Fictional!George will meet at last!!!) and I am so ridiculously excited to finish and share them!

I don't know how their relationship will end up in the end but I'm enjoying Taylor's thoughts about his body at the beginning of the chapter. Selena's intervention,,, chef kiss, really enjoy all the interactions and Charlie, will her and George have interactions in the future?

2014/2015 Matty was a great moment for the bisexual gaze- at least in my opinion and obviously I’m making my fictionalized version of Taylor agree 😂

I couldn’t believe when I looked up the 2014 NYCJingle Ball line up and realized that Charli performed (and there are pictures of her and Taylor!!) even though in real life her and George didn’t end up friends / then get together until later, it seemed too perfect not to include… and it’s my fic I can change the narrative if I want to! (Like I have decided the December 2014 VS Fashion Show is now a February 2015 VS Fashion Show because it fit my timeline better)
