Yes, same here, it's such a huge shame that there's no recording of these Kalafina covers from YKL#16 T_T

I am still super bummed that they decided to broadcast the live with Aimer instead of the one that had Hikaru as guest vocalist. They did so many wonderful Kalafina covers for their Sing a Song tour and none of them saw the light of day. A tragedy if there ever was one...We missed out on so much good stuff. Personally I would have loved to hear Magia, destination unknown and Tsuioku

To all my valued Niku-Choco Members I'm really sorry for making you feel worried, uneasy and sad after announcing the Kalafina concert. I got to speak with Kajiura-san and received encouraging words from her that gave me the push I needed. Singing Kalafina's music together with Wakana and Hikaru is something I have always wished for. I am beyond grateful to be able to perform with the two of them again and I believe the only thing I can do as a singer is to sing well. So on January 15th next year, the three of us will sing with all our hearts. Also, please know that I'm off to the Asia tour in high spirits with Kajiura-san, Hikaru, my beloved fellow songstresses and everyone from FBM. KEIKO

Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.#20～Japanese Seal 20th Special～ Kanagawa Performance & TV Broadcast Announced

Today was the second performance of YKL Vol.#20. The tour is titled “Special Japanese Seal” referring to the fact that no Japanese songs will be performed. This exclusion does not apply to the encore section. After the Tokyo live last week, they held a concert in Kanagawa. There were lots of cameras at the venue. The setlist was pretty much the same with only the final song of the main section being replaced. Instead of "paradise regained", they sang "open your heart". After the live had ended, it was announced that the entire concert (with no cut songs) would be broadcast on TBS Channel 1.

The broadcast is scheduled to air in September 2024. ※Further details will be announced at a later date. (Wonder if we'll ever get a broadcast/release of YKL Vol.#18? According to fan reports, there were cameras around for the final Osaka performance back in the summer of 2023 so there should be some footage floating around somewhere.)

Overseas Performances Added to the YKL Vol.#20 Tour Line-up

No details have been announced yet, but this year's tour will once again get an Asia leg. The performances are scheduled for November 2024. YK and her team will be returning to Shanghai (China), and will be performing for the first time in Guangzhou (China), Bangkok (Thailand), and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). I am of course biased but this was definitely one of my favourite lives. I just love this sort of beauty content. Watching Keiko do her make-up and hair is so much fun. The curls look amazing on her! (I'll admit, I am actually not the biggest fan of plain straight hair, I prefer a bit of dynamic and volume). We got a little hint of some of her upcoming solo activities. April will be dedicated to her YouTube Cover Collection. Then we have a bunch of YK stuff. For the end of summer, she plans to do a FC event that's supposed to have some sort of variety show vibe so expect it to be funny. I would assume it's gonna be similar to Keiko's Room #14 but a bit more elaborate or maybe like Wakana's FC Online Event during the summer of 2021 where she played all sorts of games. We shall see. After that, we can expect some normal lives again but she reveals nothing specific.

Random Thoughts

Note: Finally got to watch the YKL. Since this wasn’t a live broadcast, it wasn’t too high on my priority list but of course I couldn’t resist buying a ticket. My report/review will focus mostly on Keiko and whatever else strikes my fancy. I apologise in advance to all Joelle/Kaori/Aimer fans, while I would never bash anyone I typically don’t have a lot of nice things to say about them.

Outfits: YK’s “gown” is simply the best, hands down her most gorgeous outfit up to date. The utahime dresses are meh, nothing to write home about. Keiko in thigh-high boots is always a win though. 

Beginning: This Saeko Chiba cover is totally new to me, it’s my first time hearing the song. The overture is adorable and so mesmerising. YK mentioned a while back that she wanted this to be a sort of musical/theatrical introduction to all the participating artists and she certainly achieved her goal. Love how everyone gets their turn to shine. Having the spotlight on Keiko right from the start is such a treat. She is using her cutesy voice but it fits the vibe of the song so I am not mad. Cuteness overload. And you know me, I am so weak when it comes to “lalala”s. Immediate fave!!  Not a fan of Joelle’s singing here, Kaori is Kaori. OMG, Yuriko blew me away. Perfection. Surprisingly one of my favourite performances from this live. Did not expect that. 

記憶の森: Also new to me. I don’t know any of Yuuka’s songs if I am being honest :P A solid song, not an instant favourite but it might just take a few more listens to grow on me. Very happy about the focus on Keiko :-) She sounds amazing! Love it when she gets lots of solo lines. Once again, Yuriko delivers some epic parts towards the end,  － MC －

Distance: Have always enjoyed this song, I am not missing Wakana too much here but I can’t say I love the version without her. For some reason Joelle’s singing is rubbing me the wrong way during this live. 

Fields of hope: Not my cup of tea. Doesn’t do anything for me for some reason. Maybe too much Kaori. Sorry to all Kaori-fans! I don’t wanna bash her or anything, I have just never liked her voice too much. 

宝石: Will never get tired of this. 💕 Beautiful performance by Keiko. However, I don’t think this is as good as some previous versions of the song. 

凱歌: Damn, one of my all-time faves but without Wakana it really isn’t the same. *sobs* She is sorely missed here. These cool WaKei harmonies just cannot be recreated. Also, I swear, I typically don’t mind Joelle’s singing but so far during this live she just sounds ughhh to me, I am having a really hard time appreciating her parts. Has she always sounded this squeaky?  － MC －

stone cold: Just like “Gaika��� this is one of my all-time faves but I miss Wakana in the chorus. I can still enjoy the performance without her though. Keiko is having a blast. Love her interaction with Kaori, On a side note, I actually kinda liked Kaori covering Wakana’s parts this time around － MC －

*sighs* I kinda regret buying a ticket for this. Definitely NOT my favourite YKL setlist. This once again reminded me how picky I can be sometimes, I am surprised by how many songs I disliked. I wonder if I got a little overstimulated today so my reactions to this were overly negative...? Will have to rewatch it tomorrow. At least my “lalala” needs were fulfilled XD And it’s nice to see Keiko recruiting a new member to her harem. She cannot help herself and almost tackle-hugs Aimer from behind, typical Keiko-attack :P

Yesterday we had a rehearsal for "Wakana Billboard Live 2021" 😆🎶 From left to right the photo shows Asakura-san on percussion, Takebe-san on piano and Fukuhara-san on guitar 📸

Asakura-san and Fukuhara-san are hilarious, they always say funny stuff so I can never stop laughing. When Takebe-san wanted to go back to rehearsal and just started playing again I was trying my best to keep up with him I ended up singing while still laughing. I honestly didn’t wanna goof around😂😂 But it was impossible 🤣🤣This picture was taken after such a lively rehearsal 🤗🌟I had so much fun that my hair is all over the place  ... 😇 (Source)

I had a guest appearance at the Tokyo performance of『Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.#16 〜Sing a Song Tour〜』！Nakano Sunplaza Hall. Thank you to everyone who came to the venue. Thank you to everyone who supported us from afar! Today was filled with countless nostalgic moments. 

Kajiura-san has already mentioned it in the past, I got participate as guest vocalist in order to perform coveres of Kalafina songs together with the others. There is still one performance left so I can’t share any details regarding the songs...I was able to feel like we all created today’s songs together.

Today I asked Joelle-san to take a picture with me when I met her in the hallway (Source)

And as always, some pictures with KEIKO-san. *laughs* One second we are talking with a serious expression on our faces and then, all of a sudden we break into laughter. Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.#16 ～Sing a Song Tour～ Tokyo Day 2

As expected, no cameras today unfortunately. There is still hope for August 15, maybe we will get some footage of that. But at least we will get a stream for yesterday’s live. I am very curious about some of those other performances which are part of the regular setlist.

We are back to the original Hikaru setlist from Osaka so I am guessing the third Tokyo live (final concert of the tour) on August 15 will have storia, sprinter, Tsuioku and ttb (just like the Aichi performance) instead of Magia, du, KNGNN and itw. Mune no Yukue is the same in both versions of the setlist.

I had the pleasure of appearing as a guest vocalist in the 『Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.#16 〜Sing a Song Tour〜』. We safely finished the final performance at Nakano Sunplaza Hall. ⁡ 🎫 ⁡

Everyone who came to the venue, thank you! Everyone who supported us from afar, thank you! ⁡The tension was high during all performances and it was hard to relax *wry smile* Still, I always did my best. ⁡This time I participated as a guest vocalist to sing covers of Kalafina songs. ⁡

For Osaka and Tokyo I participated in the following songs:⁡ Magia destination unknown Kimi no Gin no Niwa into the world Mune no Yukue

In Aichi and for the additional Tokyo performance I sang: ⁡ storia sprinter Tsuioku to the beginning Mune no Yukue Alleluia (only at the additional performance)

When I first saw the set list, I was excited about the number of songs and the song choice ... 😳 Once I had received the sheet music for the Kalafina covers I immediately started practicing for my parts... The day I participated in the first vocal rehearsal, I felt like I was once again being confronted with all the appealing and yet so difficult parts of Kalafina’s music. At the first band rehearsal, I was thrilled find the comfort and joy of being accompanied by the FBM and Kajiura-san's piano. I was able to witness the amazing skills of the other vocalists and I got to listen to their great singing, my ears were happy 🍀

Then, the actual performances ... When I started with “Magia”, I was really nervous, it felt like my heart was bursting out of my chest 😵‍💫 On the days that started with “storia”, I felt relieved because I had the others standing next to me *laughs*. I was grateful and happy to be able to sing so many songs as a guest. I hope you enjoyed the Kalafina covers. Even though we are doing covers of the Kalafina songs, I feel like my performance and stage presence hasn’t changed much 🤔 ⁡Being able to "talk” with everyone at the venue, these songs became very special and unique, something that cannot be recreated. Despite everyone wearing a mask, your feelings were being conveyed through your eyes and body language  🌱 I want to cherish the “conversations” I was able to have with you thanks to these Kalafina covers. ⁡

And here is my dress which I wasn’t able to show you until the end of the tour 👗 The details are quite reminiscent of Kalafina, we used leather for the skirt for an edgy look but it’s still very elegant. Then we added a bit of sex appeal with the off-shoulder sleeve on the left side. The lavender colour of the top is beautiful, but it doesn’t come across as gorgeous in pictures, you would have to see it in real life ... 🥺 ⁡ By the way, during the performances that started with “Magia” my hair was wavey and partly braided. For the performances that started with “storia” my hair was just casually straight.

Sorry for the long post... I'm just so glad I was able to participate in this tour! I learned so much and felt so much happiness. Once again I want to thank everyone who came to the venues and who supported us from afar. I hope such a wonderful opportunity will present itself again... I want to be ready for that day so I will continue to do my best as H-el-ical//!
