separation makes the heart grow fonder!! what if you love enough to know the time apart is still a gift!!

This arc is insane and it's like, so vital to clara's character + love trio development + mairuma's themes overall

I am being turned into concrete holy oh my god [also this is now my analysis sorry if I'm speaking straight nonsense]

Clara's always like, been the foundation of the love trio, at the very least she's to be credited for establishing how the trio defines themselves to each other [to outsiders theyre defined by one member [iruma] since they're called the iruma army, very cute but I'm making distinctions between how that and the love trio name does different for them]

The title iruma's army hinges on clara and azz's devotion to iruma as seen thru the outside perspective and it also makes them kinda, like a love angle, as its how they are connected to iruma but not each other specifically

Love trio is clara's way to define how each of them in the trio are interconnected thru their love for each other [the phrase love trio also focuses on them as a trio, putting them on a more even dynamic with each other]

Side tangent sorry I'm sitting here writing this post almost immediately after reading the chapter, i think love trio encompasses some the fundamentals of demonhood [greed, power, control] as reflected in their evil cycles, my third eye is open, irumas evil cycle was greed [and his character growth is him learning and tapping into these demonic indulgences that're frowned upon in human society] as he wanted more for the misfits which can be seen as greedy as it's asking for more than the class is allowed, azz's is power as training lets him enter his evil cycle to have more unchecked power in combat, clara's is control as her worries and insecurities drove her to store away iruma and azz to keep them with her under her care forever

I digress tho i haven't even gotten into like 30% of my illness about the love trio

This arc really dove into clara's character as, shes been kinda been kept in the dark when it comes to, what she actually may be thinking, like id argue it's intentional that clara hasn't been really given free range to be entirely herself in a way that doesn't outwardly make others uncomfortable

Clara was so, unabashedly herself, but the story didn't punish her for that, it's just that through azz And iruma [even if he very much threw water on a grease fire omg], she learns that she Can feel these things both good and awful, and that one, theyll love her anyways [good point that iruma made, horrible time to express it] but two, that it doesn't mean she should bury these worries within herself and instead of this domineering control over the ones she cares about when expressing her most primal fears, the bad stuff needs to get recognized first and that she needs to let others in to express that

or yk in easy terms, iruma's way was "I'll love you even with the bad" and azz's way was "this is all the bad but I'll love you", basically an inverse approach in how they talked down clara [if im making sense who knows]

I hope that we do get to see iruma and azz make good on indulging clara's wishes to go like, swamp lol, weird girl central, after exams in the extras or [indulging the kinda greed youll see in the bible] in an entire chapter I'm not asking for much,,,

Im getting distracted but the start and end chapters for this arc have the same name, Coming full circle, the arc starts w clara's concern about staying behind in make up classes and not spending end of term w iruma and azz and it ends w her being reassured that pass or fail in make up classes or end of term fun, they still together and love each other and it'll be fine no matter what

Also this is the first time iruma and azz have been shown to be visibly attached to clara as the center, seen in the first few pages [what comes to mind is the times azzclara stuck to irumas sides and the few times i think iruclara did the same to azz], just wanna mention bc they're so cute I'm disintegrating into nothing

The chapter also ending w the little tease of clara's hair sticking up in the same way as in her evil cycle state, my illness

I think this represents a few things but largely what i think is important to herself + the love trio, i think it's representative of how she will keep some of how she was in her evil cycle just more tempered, base/non evil cycle clara is already in touch w love for iruma and azz it was just put on the extreme, i think going forward she'll now just, be more in touch w the different like, aspects of her insecurities, like expressing the bad thoughts she stores away to iruma and azz, but also bc i do think that the love trio are kinda representing fundamentals of demonhood, ill be bold and say she's gonna be even More confident w her love for iruma and azz [expressing control thru more establishment of the love trio in the story, i think]

also i am just, the way nishi-sensei continously draws these intimate moments between the love trio in this shoujo romance manga kinda style, especially when the panel/page feels like it's framed to be from the view point of one of the three, like that's just something that can be so special

Minor thing, among many things I've thrown in here i literally have the chapter open in a different tab so i can reference it during writing, i think clara kinda snapping at iruma and azz for being overbearing in the first pages is like, one of the few times i recall her actually, doing anything of the sort? might be wrong tho but i like this visible development to their dynamic

FEMALE Soukoku headcanons.

-Headcanons are often inaccurate or otherwise mischaracterising, Again these headcanons my personal opinion, some I might do in the future will be nsfw or sesbian lex related but I'm not at all making that the characters whole personality in my eyes, I just like reading smut alot l.

The headcanons in this one will be visual related, I'm not at all sexualising these characters i just think this is what they would look like as females.

Dazai-

1.Dazai would have wavy hair reaching her down near the start of her forearm, The wave in her looks a little more wild bc of its breakage and frizziness, I image she doesn't really care all that much abt her hair.

2.No skin routine just water😭🫶 Had teen acne in mafia days but not as bad as Chuuya. No makeup just raw face, moisturiser? She don't know her.

3.Clothes are exactly the same as male version except of course fitted to her body, I image her bolo tie being looser and her jacket reaching lower then male Dazai

(Before next one yes i am female so i know sht okay, also its not like "aww yeah boobies" its hmm genderbended i wonder what he'll look like as a women with WOMEN body 😭✌️)

4.About the same height as male dazai but thiner, for some reason i see Dazai as a flat chested women, not to flat tho like B-C cup, I also headcanon that she got them around 15-16 and would make fun of Chuuya for her flat chest😭 She also has a average but size.

(AGAIN i am a women, I'm not talking abt this in a weird perv way i just simply am imagining what a character might look like in my eyes)

Chuuya-

(Ik Japanese ppl don't tend to have curls but this is also the same universe where a russian man dies then comes back to life in another persons body sooo)

1.Natural ginger, not a love lock anymore but she does the same type of style but just has a pony tail which she pushes onto her shoulder, natural curly and not like coils i mean ringlets, she straightens her hair ALOT tho but bc of how rich she is she is able to afford products that can still keep her natural curls healthy and strong and avoid breakage. Very much freaks out when it rains bc she dont want her hair wet, also has a 11 step hair care routine and then sleep with a silk bonnet on. Also either straight or curly her hair is frizz free, soft and shiny.

2.WILDDD skin routine like i mean she has CUPBOARDS of skincare. She doesn't even use most of it she just buys it uses it to see if she wants to fit it into her routine and if she doesn't want to she just shoves it into a packed cupboard filled with skin care makeup. Because of this she has immaculate skin. Had HORRID teen acne and thats why she has such a complex routine.

3. Same with Dazai clothes are the same, she wears boots that have a little bit of a platform to make her taller (i imagine shes shorter then male Chuuya), when shes going to work but isn't doing any physical missions and just paperwork she wears black heels to work. She has her clothes custom made bc of her small size yet larger chest, hard to find clothes that will fit her (Im talking abt this like its in my counties fitting, which prolly wouldn't provide adult sizes big enough for Chuuya).

4.as i said before shorter then male chuuya, shes thin but not so thin that its like she doesnt have organs😭, She has a larger butt then Dazai, because unlike dazai she works out at the gym yk bc shes like the main ass kicker in the mafia, bc chuuya mostly fights with her legs squats are what both female and male chuuya would do to insure flexibility and other muscle stuff😭 and squats tend to give you a bigger butt, and as i said before larger boobs so Im going to say D-E or maybe E-F.

(Also boobs are just pieces of fat and as i just described Chuuya to be small her fat would go else where via breasts)

have you seen the kamimura lore drop and what are your thoughts?

ohbmy god this could’ve been so embarrassing cause i hadn’t seen it yet and was so confused as to what you meant so I was planning on just yapping about kamimura in general but then I saw it LMAO UM I WAS SO HAPPY CAUSE KAMIMURA CONTENT!!!!! KAMIMURA LORE!!! AND THEN SO FUCKING INCREDIBLY SAD FROM IT LIKE....THAT'S GORE... THAT'S GORE OF MY COMFORT CHARACTER.... um yeah I have work for law to do but I got too into reading the lore drop so lets talk about it! (I will get to my work after trust) spoiler warning for chapters 1-3 and tetro typical trigger warnings!!! take care of yourself!!

I am not going to cover the ableism portion or too much of the diagnosis/hospital parts because I am not personally disabled and would like to let other disabled people talk about it, so i'll leave the rest of the conversation to others in the community!

also i took notes while reading it to organize my thoughts like usual (im so bad at putting words together well). some of these are kinda funny so here are some highlights lmfao

alright, now lets actually be serious.

firstly, I'm so glad that kamimura at least had a good childhood. I think it really shows in the way he interacts with the tetro pink cast that he was a sociable and happy kid! my mom actually teaches preschool so shes taught me a lot about early childhood psychology (shout out to my mother guys!!!!!). one of the biggest takeaways I've had from her is that the first five years of one's life are the most important in development! that's what Montessori programs keep in mind and throughout preschool and early kinder, they take time to establish learning through play; a lot of people have the misconception that letting kids play at school is just letting them mess around, but it's crucial in building their skills! kids learn to socialize with others and to problem solve; that foundation is very important for everything else moving forward in life! I could rant about how preschools need to utilize this more, esp in the American education system, but I digress. my main point goes to something I (and a couple other people I'm not original in this LMAO) have mentioned before about how it makes more sense out of hasegawa and kamimura, that they'd kill off kamimura because he had other people. kamimura, despite having further and further cut himself off from the world right till the end (until the kg at least), still managed to make meaningful connections, like tamba and hayashi, even if they weren't like ideal. the way he approaches tamba is very caring in a way that can seem like it's not, yk? likely it stems from his trust issues, it's scary to put your genuine real feelings out there, so hiding them with some snide remarks is easier. luckily, tamba has a similar approach so hey. shout out tamba n kamimura you will always be special to me.

anyways, its both so amazing and so heartbreaking that his parents were so loving and supportive, but died too soon. I do wonder about the role of attachment in this case; like specifically in babies/toddlers, they get attached to their parents usually because that's the first person they see, the first to take care of them. kamimura was able to get that love and support from his parents, even when it got so much harder and the days in the hospitals got longer. so having it all be taken away when you're NINE? that's obviously gonna destroy you, and that leads to his trust issues and isolation. he was able to thrive still as a young child because he had his parents to support him! so when that's all gone, how else are you supposed to cope?

yeah fuck you family friend, that was brutal. I cant even imagine coming home from school to find your parents absolutely desecrated. the day of his parents death beginning the routine of staying locked in his room.... oh my god like what if I cried (I did). that probably changed the way he thought about his room; his room was an escape from the horrors of the outside world. if he just stayed in the room, he wouldn't have to experience the fucked up world. it became a habit. EUGAHHD I'm in shambles.

after the murder of his parents, it's understandable that it shook kamimura and his aunt to their core. that was a violent murder (by a man who was literally just rejected romantically.... its so fucking upsetting that that is a common crime). his aunt wasn't even ready to have kids so having the responsibility of taking in kamimura must've been a lot. In regards to homesick, despite the very clear distance in their relationship, kamimura really seems to appreciate her being there, even if it was very distanced; she was still an important part of his grieving process and his whole life honestly.

oh boy here we go. isao when I catch you istg..... sorry that's an exaggeration, likely this was from a societal disgust, yk just homophobia from the world, so I cant really blame this kid too much.... but we still have beef. god, this was one of those actually crushing crushes, hm. it's so fucked up; someone who was starting to get kamimura a bit out of the dark space that was his life, giving him something to enjoy and be happy about! and all of that was just thrown away because kamimura was vulnerable and shared his feelings. not having your feelings returned can already be devastating, but this? the spread of rumors, the bullying, the losing his one friend? it's like the world wants to torture him omfg. here the trust issues become worse; those who loved him leave, those who he loved leave. everyone just leaves, so what's the point?

this explains his relationship with hasegawa, and the issue after trial 1. it had to have felt way too familiar; telling someone he was fond of vulnerable information, only for it to be told to a bunch of people he never wanted in his fucking business. however, I think the reason why they made up rather quickly in clean up crew (which btw I watched w my friend earlier today bc I got them into tetro........ god I love that episode) is hasegawa's response. hasegawa, unlike isao, is remorseful, he CARES. hasegawa even shares something personal to him, about his own loss.

I think this also changes the scene of hasegawa coming out a bit. before, he was rejected by isao because he was a homophobic douchebag. but in the student spotlight, hasegawa casually says he's not into girls. while its funny thinking that kamimura was having some gay panic then lmao, I think actually it was probably processing that in a confused comfort, not exactly because his feelings could be reciprocated, but for this; hasegawa was so comfortable with coming out as gay, so comfortable with the concept, unlike isao. if kamimura confessed his feelings to hasegawa, and were (somehow) not reciprocated, he likely still wouldn't have ran away. of course, with kamimura's trust issues, he probably wasn't confident in that assumption, but hasegawa is not the kind of person to drop someone because they confessed to them. he would've kept the person that had become so important to him. and because of that maybe, just maybe, kamimura would've said what he really wanted to say if the interview had happened before woodshop.

once he's on his own and moves out, he no longer has someone reminding him to do things, so with no motivation to simply live, he ends up staying locked in his house like we've seen before. what's the point in anything? when that kind of spiral hits you, and you don't have other people present in your life to keep doing, how would you ever stay motivated?? I know it was a really informal post, so I might be going insane trying to add this to the analysis, but the repetition of 'but life goes on' I think really solidifies the importance of a support system. when things are difficult, the world never just stops, it keeps going despite your struggle. but having people who care about you around you can help make each day easier, they can help 'slow down time' if you will. kamimura has gone through an amount of stress no one should have to face, but people around him could have made it easier on him by being there. that's the tragedy of tetro.

it's especially tragic that at the very end, right before the kg, he was taking his own life.

(plot wise, I need to know what y'all theorists think of this bc I have ideas but i need to finish the staffside logs before I can even actually consider my thoughts lmfao.)

sorry to be captain obvious on a majority of this post lol but gosh wow. I really loved that we got this, it was so much information I am kinda stoked despite basically all of it being depressing as hell. tetro has really become an inspiration for me and writing, I am constantly so impressed by von's writing and it's given me perspective on how to approach writing as a whole. i feel as though this gave me so much perspective on kamimura himself as a character. some of this just confirmed my ideas already, but it strikes me as something so human just learning all of this. when I, or anyone really, first meet people, I only know surface level things, yk cause I don't know them. but then I start talking to them, and I learn about different things that have happened to them, how they feel about certain issues or what they're doing on a day to day basis. you can never know everything of course, but when you discover new parts of someone, it makes them more complex and they don't fit the idea you had of them before because people are complex!! and that's the beauty of writing, capturing humanity! the impact of each character, esp kamimura, has been so beautifully done, I'm just constantly moved as the story progresses.

imo no one else seems to understand the landduo/foolhalo relationship is much much deeper than "he's a friend who annoys me and i love to annoy him" or "they are secretly in love" in fact i might be as bold as to say NO ONE does till this day. which is pretty funny how they understand and notice the littlest things about each other but no one can see their deep bond despite that... tho to be fair Bad has said multiple times that he praises Foolish till high heaven from his skills, smarts, to his good looks but he would never ever admit it or say it to his face. (he RARELY does actually so when it happens, we all cheer and die) same for foolish.

Jaiden, who is probably one of the closest to Foolish rn said recently no one else takes Foolish srsly or that they are like outcasts of the island or that no one cares for Leo (para). and im like um theres literally Bad who cares a lot for Foolish and Leo. and has said multiple times that he is much more intelligent than ppl have granted him to be (but ofc she doesn't know, she doesn't know the early moments where they would hang out together almost all the time, constant banter, she doesn't know of THE convo where Bad literally for his advice and was treating and talking to him like two gamemasters in equal footing talking about the games they will play, she doesn't know should anything happen to Bad, he left Dapper in Foolish's care, Foolish constantly leaves Leo in Bad's care, she doesn't know that Leo loves and adores his Tio Bad, she doesn't know a lot of their "true hidden" relationship/sides, she doesn't know how easy Foolish can read Bad like an open book like that mine roulette game which i think she participated but not when both bad and foolish were playing iirc etc etc) not to mention theres also Roier who cares a lot for Leo and vice versa and constantly thinks about her (but this post about foolhalo so i digress)

There was also that moment with Bagi and Tubbo where they were like go ahead and cage Foolish or smtg. like daring Bad to do it. Bad was like aww thats no fun, its boring (cuz yk theres no song and dance, theres no arguing back n forth, it was just that). so when foolish shows up and bad was like hey could u step in ig *shrugs* Foolish was like urgh ok ig. I still remember Bagi's and Tubbos reaction, they were like mildly surprised. like ok what now. Bagi then said to Foolish, hey Bad is insane. Foolish then replied, yeah i fcking knew that already (in a so what tone) and again, Bagi seemed slightly taken aback. Tubbo then went on a rant about them being in love or smtg idk.

or the time when Bad would make a torture chamber for Foolish which he willingly went along cuz why not. and ppl were making angst about it as if Foolish didn't just walk into the torture chamber willingly to play a fun torture game with Bad smh.

also the time when Foolish was hiding his hurt over Leo's absence but Bad knew deep inside he feels deeply. that time where Foolish will run away from everyone else when confronted about his feelings but finally stood silently besides Bad in comfort, instead of a hug. (wasn't Jaiden there for that?)

This is when Fenrir asked for Aventurine to teach him avgin-sigonian for his Masters in linguistics - it took him a lot of courage to do it because Aventurine has a 50/50 chance when it comes to asking about his Avgin heritage, he either feels like 10 bajillions daggers and his ancestors coming to beat his ass or he feels appreciated and seen for his dead culture and this gambler is the only man fenrir couldn’t read fully.

fenrir is not the type to gamble, so of course he came up with a plan

They started out normally but fenrir keeps beating around the bush to kind of get aventurine pissed off so that he couldn’t feel sad, like too focused on being angry to hate himself type shit. As they are, they’d probably end up in a fist fight cuz yk, if you got recycled, youll still get the marks of what you once were (talia lore) the question dropped in the middle of the fight and aventurine just said yes on a whim- fenrir broke down and just be liek ‘HELL YEAH VASHA YOURE THE GOAT’

Theyre bicker, pester and shit. theyre the only one who can get under each other’s skin and sometimes their little momentarily bantering do distract their self esteem bc they lowk find the other person more annoying (when the suicide hotline hung up on u and ure too confused/pissed to kys typa dynamic). they act petty and would often annoy the other but would never say a bad word and would still do anything to save them. because in the end, fenrir and aventurine still considered each other family (old married couple with early love beef) considering their journey through talia together.

they still know that the reason why they found comfort in each other so easily despite all the tension is because, really, they are the same side of two coin. They are each other’s foil, they emphasize each other’s character - which is something both fenrir and aventurine HATE (self-loathe hell yeah jigsaw) but also they found that there are also others with the same wound.

They bite each other, but its their teeth that stopped the bleeding.

(or more like they bite each other’s open wound in hope to hurt the other, but actually found that the scars are from the same pair of teeth and found comfort that they don’t have to bite themselves to stop the bleeding anymore)

(do u get it pls cuz aventurine has the same pair of teeth as his masters because he probably learn more from his old master than his parents cuz he spent more time with the masters than his family haha - applies to fenrir too ahahahahaha)

i feel aventurine is charming and he compliments everyone bc thats gonna get them to grow on him - yk ppl likes compliments. if theyre not affected by compliments? money. if theyre one of those “i dont like compliments and money” he’ll just act crazy, putting himself on the line and bending them to his will by other forms of manipulation. i don’t feel like aventurine values relationship because he doesn’t even value himself, which is an important factor in a healthy relationship (regardless of romance or not). Most of his connections would mostly be transactional and he does have very few people he kept by - Dr Ratio, Trailblazer, etc.

Fenrir? he hates himself too much for compliments to work. he’s too talented to need money and he’s also a master when it comes to manipulation. As they are, same sides of two coins. fenrir has the same issue with aventurine, none of his tactics worked, he couldn’t bend aventurine to his needs so easily. so with the forced proximity, stranded in the desert with no one else but each other, they learn to co operate rather than to use one another. Both Fenrir and Aventurine would be forced to not see their relationship as transactional - and thus create a foundation for a more genuine relationship.

The only way they can break out of their habits of seeing everything being out of obligations is when they’re forced to turn their head a different way. if they were given the permission to stay, they will stay in the hellhole that they found comfort in rather than the ground where they can walk freely because they never learned to walk without the weights - they will fall because they can’t balance themselves.

kung fu panda 4 review - spoiler free

it was solid, not as good as the first three movies, but the og triology set the bar so high even a 'not as good' movie is still a fun watch. The animation is beautiful and you get quite a bunch of awesome action scenes out of it

zhen is a lot more likable when not voiced by awkwafina (croatian dub saved me ✊️) but even that wont save her from her character being pretty bland. ironically the same criticism for her design could be applied for her character as well, not bad, likable enough, just fails to stand out and ive seen it done better a lot of times already

chameleon... oh boy... so much potential, such incredible built up, such luckluster execution... ill talk more abt her in spoiler section, but honestly she was the weakest link of the movie

dont get your hopes up for furious five, they only really exist as a cameo, what you will get is mr ping and li being a very married couple and personally if theres anything worth seeing the movie for its them (still im hoping for at least a short abt the furious five, cmon theyve been non existent since kfp 3)

the pacing was too fast, and there were too many comedic and too little serious moments, glad im not the only one that noticed

ive seen a lot of complaints about tai lung and other past villains not being in the movie enough, but honestly im happy for that bc its not their movie, they all had their own movies to shine and i really feared this movie would rely too much on them to carry the hype and im glad that wasnt the case. the chameleon rant

you know, i believe the kfp movies are heavily carried by their villains. they're the ones that set the tone, bring the stakes, and not only are they a foe for po to defeat but represent his internal conflict (tai lung being self acceptance, shen being overcoming grief and kai being self discovery) so to have the villain be the movie's weakest spot is... not great at all

firsty, the chameleon is the first movie villain in the franchise to not have any beef with any of the main characters (like tai lung had with shifu, lord shen with po and kai with oogway) and that couldve been great, give us a villain that doesnt care about po or anyone else and is just doing their own thing, its something new and an unexplored territory, but then they do nothing with it.

what does she want? to rule the valley of peace? all of china? ok and then what? the city shes already rulling doesnt look like its doing too bad to me. why should i care about her being defeated? yeah shes mean, but where are the STAKES

and how does she reflect po's conflict? because its about accepting change and she's a chameleon? weak, that only connect on paper and only barely. is it how she was never accepted to train kung fu because of her size? that's such a lame motive. really? not a single kung fu place wanted to take you in for your size? in a franchise full of all the different characters of all different shapes and sizes being kung fu masters? yeah ok sure

what i did like about her is how they made her get her way through manipulation and intimidation. she's not strong, she's not a skilled fighter, she's not inherently scary, but she uses smoke and mirrors to intimidate people around her and manipulative tactics to get her henchmen to listen which ties nicely into her shapeshifting abilities, just wish theyve done more with it, show us how she spreads horror stories about herself, show us the influence she has over the townspeople, show us just how manipulative she is of zhen, hell have her be all kind and nice to her in moments to bait her to stay under her wing (yk as abusive parents do)

long rant about anime INCOMING. like. so long.

there is something so powerful about nostalgic anime or things from the past. SPECIFICALLY 2000’s to 2010’s ANIME HITS SO DIFFERENT. the stuff theyre putting out now is really a lot of hit or miss, overused troupes, mid writing, same formulaic stuff…. IT GETS BORING.

i have my gripes with harem and isekai and just how boring it gets with each overused troupe, everything is so predictable, and frankly ITS ALSO HOW I FEEL ABOUT SO MUCH SHOUNEN ANIME OUT THESE DAYS. isekai: theres always some weird thing that makes the main character special and overpowered, for some reason lots of big boobied simple characters with no depth, fanservice central, boring boring boring. theres some gems out there like mushoku tensei, slime was pretty good but set the standard and everything else just seems the same, iconic ones like everyone in isekai quartet (ainz, rezero, tanya, etc. u get what i mean) but frankly, theyre really just pumping out some MID garbage. and while i get it: some shows just SUCK but are SO AWESOME that u just enjoy it… but as for me? its just NOT my cup of tea.

then theres harem… oh harem………. its just bad. theres a lot of shows that count as harem that i actually LOVE and enjoy like MakeIne (great show), oresuki, konosuba technically lumfao!, BUT. with like every great show that counts as a harem, theres like 10 other shows that hit the mark completely. and i get it, not every company can come out with ONLY certified bangers,

BUT CMON THE GOLDEN ERA FOR ME IN ANIME WAS SOOOO THE 2000’s AND 2010’s. ESP IN SHOUJO lumfao. LIKE ALL THE MOST ICONIC BEAUTIFUL AMAZING GROUNDBREAKING ANIME WAS CULTIVATED DURING THEN. not every anime was heavily fanserviced with big boobies, not every shoujo was poorly written “hes so big… and he cares for me…!!!”, not every harem was panties in my face (though admittedly many of them were…), men who are main characters had GUY FRIENDS, and maybe even GIRLS WHO ARE ACTUALLY JUST FRIENDS AND NOT LOVE INTERESTS, shows had BACKGROUND CHARACTERS AND MINOR CHARACTERS THAT ARE ACTUALLY INTERESTING.

kaminomi is one of my top fave harem of all time, with technically ohshc being a “reverse harem”, theres just sooo much iconic anime that really cant be beat from the 2000s-2010s era for me.

this is death note era, nana era, ouran era, jjba era, chobits, toradora, kaminomi, little busters, angel beats, code geass, higurashi when they cry, clannad, steins gate, monogatari, hetalia (oh gosh), (late 2010’s-2020’s~soso) ssss.gridman/dynazenon/universe (my goat currently), spice and wolf, engaged to the unidentified, kamisama kiss, naruto and dbz (even tho dbz is like way old and so is jjba but yk.), gintama, not all but a LOT of some of the most iconic ghibli films imo, full metal, my little monster, MADOKA MAGICA, HARUHISUZUMIYA.. LIKE THE LIST GOES ON. ARGUABLY SOME OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL ANIME OF ALL TIME. EVEN IF I HAVENT SEEN WHAT SOME PEOPLE SAY IS THE GOAT OF ANIME IT PROBABLY AIRED DURING THIS ERA. AND IM NOT EVEN INCLUDING ANY OF MY FAVE ANIME MOVIES SAD AND NOT SAD (besides ghibli)

but do i think there arent any good gems out there right now? oh nah theres a few good ones out rn. but the way its looking. lowkey. i think we’re only gonna be getting mostly mid ones…… like sure the animation quality is fantastic! the overworked animators are doing great, but. some of these shows are just plain dog water. like i cant get through so many of these shows. like yeah jjk is aight, chainsaw man was dubious!!, dandadan is a fun watch, but for SOME REASON. none of these shows hit like freaking early 2000s and early 2010’s anime. like instantly it also hits when there’s like violin and divine ahh soundtrack like DANG!!! YOU DID NOT NEED TO HIT THAT HARD!!! especially madoka magica and kaminomi.

can i just talk about how good kaminomi is too btw. its the only respectful harem i know, keima is actually a main character worth loving with substance more than a character troupe, the girls are so much more than what they look, keima helps them all and ELSIE IS ACTUALLY JUST A SISTER CHARACTER AND NOTHING ELSE. GENUINELY SHE IS JUST ELSIE MY GOAT. and like in toradora each of the characters are ACTUALLY INTERESTING!!!! like taiga and ryuji’s progression, the arcs of minorin and freaking glasses (even tho their arcs may be weakly written, at least they have more depth than most!) and the fact our main character actually has a guy friend and like. not some weird little girl sister character? its refreshing. its so refreshing!!!!!! does toradora count as a harem? lul. like wow!! these characters are people!!!

actual people! not just boobs or overpowered MC who everyone likes for NO REASON!

lowkey, i think they hit it out the park when VNs were being produced in anime. storylines with serious characters and plot, the characters have feelings and goals and so much more emotion. these recent years its a lot of light novels, but so simple. like

they all have one shtick they follow: “in another world without my books” “in another world WITH a cellphone.” “im the only guy who can level up and im overpowered” “i have a useless skill that actually isnt useless at all and im overpowered!” like wow, just how many themes are we exploring this time around. i did like “kumo desuga, nanika?!” a lot but frankly bc it was one of the like first 5 super quirky isekai i’d watched at the time. (and it was super likeable lol)

but like. dude. theres a lot that just really isnt even likeable character wise, story wise, and even like MAIN STORY TITLE wise. rent-a-girlfriend’s MC sucked actual dookie nuts, that one guys love sickness is just “wow! this girls different and not into me… i want her….” rehashed, 7th time loop is really just SO BORING. no substance, mc is overpowered, men are deeply in love with her for no reason besides “shes just sooo different and interesting from other women…. i want her…”

maybe all these are fr just self inserts and feel good media. heres some stuff you said you looooved to eat up but slopped up on your plate! enjoy!!! and…. LOWKEY. PEOPLE DO JUST EAT RHE SLOP. and you can. im just tired of the slop my bro.

admittedly theres slop thats poorly written but just SO ENJOYABLE AND AWESOME THAT ITS JUST SO GOOD. like… the first half of ssss.dynazenon sucked but. Alright so yesterday I finished Fate: The Winx Saga and here are all my thoughts.

Disclaimer: These are just my opinions, so it's okay if you don't agree w me.

First off, STELLATRIX.

Can't get them off my mind and I'm a 100% sure Beatrix is gonna come back so it's fine. I absolutely love their dynamic and honestly, I've spent all the eps just waiting for their scenes and I am not ashamed of it. Btw, Stella should've been a lesbian, but it's fine. As long as she's sapphic I don't really care.

Also, I'm pretty sure theyre gonna be canon. Like, all their relationship is so queercoded, with parallels w other ships and everything??? No way they're just gal pals. I refuse. So yeah, in other words, I am clowning hard, which is not surprising cause all I ever do in life is clown over sapphic non-canon ships apparently. (I have a long history abt that)

Musa

Musa, girl, what have they done to you? I didn't hate the haircut as much as I thought I would (even tho its not great) but the clothes???? Hello????? It was hard to watch.

Also, I was kind of surprised w the fact that I liked her "transition" from mind fairy to Specialist, so I'm pretty pleased with her storyline. I will say this: I wish she were sapphic. Not bc of anything specific, but I do remember having a moment where I shipped her w Stella, cause I made a whole fanfic in my head abt them, so yeah.

Also, riven and musa????? Look, I don't normally like m/f ships (specially if they're not in a sitcom). Like, I don't hate them, but they don't give me the buzz, yk. Most times I'm just neutral about them, but I gotta say, man, that Riven and Musa... God, I loved their scenes. I found their dynamic so interesting and the chemistry. THE CHEMISTRY. The slowburn is gonna burn so good.

Terra + Flora

V happy with the fact that Terra is a lesbian cause we need more lgbtq+ people in this show (and in life in general). I will say her storyline w the specialist girl is a bit odd cause they don't really focus much on her (which they obvs should've done that) and isn't she dating someone else when they have their first kiss???? A bit confused abt that.

Other than that, I liked her storyline, and even tho her coming out isn't the best one Ive ever seen, I was pretty pleased. Especially the moment where she tells the whole group and she wants to dismiss it w the rug or smth (I forgot lol) and Stella comes in and hugs her???? Melts my heart.

Moving on, I didn't know how I was gonna feel abt Flora?? And I still don't know lol. I will say that the actress did a good job, but I think they should've added more bonding scenes between Flora and the other girls cause it just didn't feel like they were best friends just like the rest of the group? But maybe it's just me. Still, I don't know how I feel about Flora yet. Like, Im pretty sure I like her, but I think it's more about what she represents, (which is the cartoon character) than what she actually is. I definitely need to see more of her.

Also, the relationship w Terra,, it made sense but also it was too predictable. Like, its not bad but I did find it a tad basic and I wish they made it a bit differently. Like, I know it's hard to innovate but idk, maybe add a little something that makes them stand out? But again, maybe that's just me.

Aisha

Idk what to say abt her tbh, I just like her lol. I will say that it didn't make a lot of sense the way she reacted when she first met Grey (I think that's his name but in case its not, I'm talking abt the guy lol). Like, bro, the lake is not yours, chill. So it was a bit hard for me to get into the relationship but eventually I kinda did, so yeah. V sad that the first boyfriend she has, turns out to be a blood witch. The bestie cannot catch a break lol.

I will say that, (a bit of constructive criticism here) I find Aisha as a character a bit flat. And not only her, I think that in general all the characters except maybe Beatrix and even Riven(?) seem pretty shallow to me. Or maybe like, not shallow but as if they haven't still found their own spark? Idk if this makes sense but I feel like most characters fall into these cliches and tropes, which is totally fine, cause nowadays literally everyone needs to fall into one of these, like it's literally unavoidable. But baby, you need to add a bit of their own spark to make them stand out. To make them memorable, yk? So yeah, I wish they stopped and tried to work on the characters a bit more. Like, Stella, Musa and even Terra are not as bad (even tho imo they a bit of work from the writers wouldn't hurt cause Im pretty sure the actresses make more than half of the work in this aspect) but Aisha, Flora, Sky and especially Bloom... It's bad yall. It's very bad (Will explain the Bloom thing later, don't hate me just yet)

BTW: I say all of this out of all the love in my heart, cause I believe in all the characters and I see the potential, and what they could become. And I hate the fact that I can see it and they're just wasting it so yeah. Don't hate me besties <333

Bloom + Sky

I'm sorry but Bloom is the most basic female main character from a sci-fi tv show you can ever have. Like, bro, just put a little more effort into creating her, please. Like, I'm begging. Maybe it's just me, but the bestie is missing personality (not dragging the actress, just the writers and how they did it), cause yeah, its fine if she wants to sacrifice herself all the time, or if she wants to do everything alone cause she's special n stuff but it's like her whole personality is revolving around her having the Dragon Flame. Which yeah, it is important and it is a v important part of her life but dude. Dont make her one-dimensional.

This also happens w Sky btw. And ofc when you put a bland character w another bland character everything gets... well. Not great. But I won't get into their relationship bc honestly, I do not care. Like I said before, m/f relationships don't give me the buzz so yeah.

To wrap it up...

I did like the second season. I would like to say I liked it more than the first one but I barely remember anything of it, so yeah, lol (Im a horrible fan, I know). I will say that idk what it is, that's making me continue the show, cause I normally only consume sapphic/lgbt media, but here we are. And I did want to leave it a few times cause the heavy straight content is so strong, but Im glad I continued it. And I hope they get renewed for a third season cause I really believe that it has potential and yeah, that's all for now ig. Maybe I'll do another post talking abt other stuff, like plotwise or smth. We'll see. But it'll def be shorter than this cause holy shit, this is long for a person who "isn't v into the show anyways" (that's me lying to myself btw lol)

listen, he’s not very good at the whole emotions/vulnerability thing yet, but he’s trying. when dating shō, expect some emotional outbursts from him, as he tends to keep it bubbling inside way too often. he needs an s/o that doesn’t mind lending him a shoulder to cry on, and responds to his problems with sympathy rather than pity.

they don’t always need to know what to say, but if they can show him that he is loved, he’ll absolutely melt.

empathy and understanding is a bigbig thing. it’s really important that his s/o has no ulterior motives and genuinely shows that they want him for who he truly is and not for anything else. not his status, his power, or anything like that. just him. shōto todoroki. because at the end of the day he isn’t his grades, his quirk, his past, etc. he is a person. and his s/o needs to show him that that is more than enough.

in no way is this man submissive, but somebody who can talk him out of some of his more impulsive decisions without being too overbearing would be ideal. somebody who can be practical and reason with him, but not to the point where it feels like they’re telling him what to do. he hates feeling tied down like that, yk?

also: he’s actually very emotionally intelligent so if he knew his attitude bothered you i think he’d at least attempt to be a little gentler

very important to note that having patience does not equal being a pushover. he would absolutely hate dating somebody who cannot assert themselves, and i believe he would not do well with somebody who’s super passive either. he’s extremely dominate, but letting him have his way (not in a sexual way 😐) with you would not be healthy.

not to say that it isn’t possible!!! this is just my opinion. passive bakugo simps rise i hate confrontation too but i would love to have an enemies to lovers relationship with this man.

he’ll need somebody who’s pretty good at picking up on emotions since he tends to lash out a lot too. if you’re able to look deeper into the reasons as to why he’s acting the way he is, he’ll silently love it. you have to be willing to reach out to him.

mutual respect is vital in every relationship but ESPECIALLY in one with mr.katsuki here. if you win his heart, he thinks you’re absolutely incredible, so he needs a s/o that feels the same!!!

you have shitty life and you dont want it anymore, and hence you resort to drastic measures

one being to give up your life completely to a huge cat that you met one time at this shed when you were running away from home

yes we angsty now

at first you were skeptical bc how in the hell does this cat thing exist?? and how can it tell that you’re giving up on your life???

but since you were down as hell, and you were overwhelmed with emotions and were beyond your right state of mind,,, you accepted the offer of what this cat gave

so now you are a cat

by then, an entire night flew by and you woke up realizing you actually slept in the shed again lmao silly you—

and you weren’t actUALLY DREAMING YOU TRULY BECAME A CAT

so being the masochist you are, you decided you shouldn’t pass the opportunity to have a little adventure,,, to your house and school

well because you’re an insecure bitch who wants to know whats it like in a world without you in it and how the people around you would react without you in their lives,,,, yk quirky things like that uwu

and you saw it 

yourself 

your whole entire body alive awake and walking telling your damn parents a see you later since you’re off to school

but the hell do you care whoever that lil insect is that swarmed inside your body and became the host,, you continued your lil mini adventure to your school bc whats more fun than seeing your fake self havin fun with your friends??

then a tall grey haired boy you forgot the name of stepped in front of you and crouched to your level

then you realize this person was Bokuto Kotarou from your school’s vball team,,, how could you not have guessed from the hair alone silly you

Bokuto then patted you a little more after being told by Akaashi that he can’t be distracted by a cat at this moment since they’re about to go for practice

so they left you there

but you bein a cat that can slither everywhere they wish to be, thought it would be fun to stalk the vball team since its so early in the morning yk and you rly wanna know whats happening with your actual body

you don’t even know why your body was in school this early,,,

anyway so volleyball right

it donned onto you that you had a crush on Bokuto when you were a freshman,, you remember there was something gratifying about his personality that made you like him better than the rest of the boys in your school bc other men are trash but we dont talk about that

you found him sorta special 

however, despite finding him very special, a person like him was too far-fetched for you to become close with bc you two were polar opposites of each other,,, he was too excited and happy every time you see him while you are,,, well

a bit too down

but you werent always down

just that you had every reason to be down yk

im not helping but anyways-

so you were watching them practice,, you had no idea why you were watching since you werent rly into sports whatever and it usually bores you,, and sends your mind flying elsewhere

then you saw Bokuto leaping up from the back and slamming the ball straight past the other player’s blocks

fr that was impressive and the way he accurately hit the ball right next to the line was insane

okay, mayhaps you were slowly gathering feelings for him again and this time for his talents as well oho

so you took your time watching this lad in awe while resting on the gym’s window sill, only God knows how you got there, and just admired the players doin their thing

but yk with a lot of Bokuto you perv

ofc Bokuto sees the cat while they were on break and kinda squished his face on the window to get ur attention bc you were sorta falling asleep on there

he was yellin things like theres a cute kitty on the window aaaAAAAA and the other players just wanted him to stop so they kinda invited you inside

they busted a big uwu at how cute the cat was, scared of the new environment it has been forced into

mostly Bokuto

he was beYOND HAPPY to see a small animal within his vicinity and Akaashi was delighted to see him calm at least for once

Bokuto was really gentle at holding the little feline in his arms and his heart might have melted when it relaxed into his hold and rested its little head against his chest

the other players were hella jealous

but Bokuto gettin all the attention from a cat was better than anything else 

until we remember that the guys don’t always stay for practice and that they had classes to attend too, they are at school for a reason

henceforth Bokuto was sad to let the cat go bc the cat isn’t his it’s just a stray cat,, nobody knows where it came from

“i’ll come back for you later okay?”

while waiting for his promise of coming back, you spent the time to idle around the campus until lunch break came and you once again saw your original body that is now lived by a different host

the fake you turned to your direction and smirked?? what the heck was that for??

but you had Bokuto to comfort you anyway lmao you attention wh*re

then you figured it didn’t feel right to be hogging the lad’s attention like this when you aren’t actually a cat,,, at least not until midnight strikes,,,

you did have a choice whether or not you still wanted to remain as a cat for the rest of your life but that price is selling your soul to that cat

besides all that, i just wanna mention that Bokuto grew fond of the cat that keeps playing with him all day and he lit thought of bringing it with him home bc he was worried like what if it doesn’t have a home to go to and becomes all alone and starving and like get hit by a car 

he was genuinely concerned for your well-being and you felt eVEN BAD NOW and just wanna go over and tell him you’re not an actual cat you’re just a stalker of his that somehow had the chance to turn into a pussy

but he did bring you home

not even Akaashi could stop him when he secretly snuck you inside his bag when they were about to go home from practice

no lie you lit wanted to flee

time was running out and you were wasting it to clown Bokuto into thinking you truly were a cat but not unless you wished to remain a cat

do you deserve that doe?

you thought you did after Bokuto pampering you a lot, showing you to his mom, being cleaned and fed kinda clumsily but its the thought that counts for the night and even tucking you beside him on his bed like s*ft omg

you definitely wanted to leave but like if you left its gonna break his heart but once he finds out you’re an actual human person what the hell is that going to make you

obviously you were in a terrible rut

tears came rushing up to your eyes and you just wanted to strangle that creepy ass cat you met last night and bring back what he stole from you

the words he said was enough to have you break down, his kindness and his sincerity was too pure that you just wanted this to stop

especially when it came from someone special to you

you decided life wasn’t so bad if there’s someone you can lean on

Took me a hot minute or so but I ultimately decided on Brian because it's the vibe I'm getting. Let's elaborate on that.

What he likes about you:

I always start out with the physical stuff first and I'm just going to say that Brian really likes your hair! Thinks it is absolutely gorgeous and fun. Will compliment how fluffy it is. Likes that you're into nature, crafty, and your music choice! Thinks your art is super fun and will want to see it. Thinks your singing voice is absolutely beautiful. Coming back to this. Your pets are fun to him as well, and your likes just seem to really line up with him y'know?? Especially loving Autumn, rain, when it's chilly, all that kind of fun stuff.

General cute things:

ALright, I feel like swimming outings would be a thing between the two of you. Brian likes water. It's just the vibe I get. Make him flower crowns please lmfao. Brian is soft and actual sunshine when he wants to be. He will watch the sunrise and sunset with you!!! He loves to just strum his guitar in the early mornings, listening to the birds sing. I feel like music dates would be a thing between the two of you. Just sitting in a flower field, watching the world go by, singing and all that cute stuff. Brian is admittedly a bit of a home body as well, so like,,,,,, hey. Just the two of you curling up on the couch, taking naps? Yes. Brian will occasionally get you gifts of things that remind him of you. He also gives me the vibe that he would get you flowers just because he thinks you'll find them pretty. He will goof around with. ALSO, Brian loves to listen to you!! Please talk to him about whatever is on your mind and I guarantee he's going to love it!! You being such a sweet person makes his heart sing? Like, you just reaffirming all the things he needs to hear make him so happy. He will also play with your hair, and on other days, he will rest his head on your lap and you can play with his.

You two as a couple:

Y'know, I think the only thing that might be a bit of a talking point between the two of you is the not having kids thing. Brian strikes me as such a strong family man. However, I don't think he's incapable of bending, so if the two of you want to be fur parents, he'd be just fine with that. Other than that, one of Brian's love languages is touch to like, be prepared for hugs, kisses, all that wholesome stuff. He's definitely a bit of an insomniac so like, please spend time with him cuddling on the roof while the two of you talk about anything and everything. Brian will definitely cook and bake with you as well, seeing those are two things he loves to do. You won't ever have to worry about jealousy with Brian because he's a king of "I have a partner stop speaking to me :)" You can also spoon him, he'd find that comforting. Brian prioritizes communication, so if you start crying, or anything like that, he'll give you some space and then come back to it. He doesn't want to cause you any harm, but some things need to be spoken about. Brian will also be your rock if the two of you go out in public and you're not very happy or overwhelmed. I swear, he's always going to be there for you.

Hi love bug, sorry this is late. The matchups were giving me some wonky type of burn out, but it's here now. To answer your thing about why animals don't need toothpaste, it actually has a lot to do with their diet! They don't eat refined sugars or the high amount of acids we do, and they also tend to eat way more twigs, sticks, bark, bones and even grass that help keep their mouths free of debris. Tell me about your characters and stories! One of my favorite things to do outside of running this blog is OCs and world building. Again, apologies for this being late.
