Ashari’s voice I would say is slightly deep and has a bit of a scratch to it and sounds slightly Scottish

Faye enjoys storms, often ending up in the middle of them. They’ll stand in the rain all night but then will get mad at the horrible cold they get in the morning ( if only they learned proper healing magic )

Mo loves charting the stars, so definitely stars is the main love. It’s very useful for navigation Those tiny beams of light, makes a girl wonder about everything out there. Second best is the moon, loves the two moons in the sky. The sun she also loves, but not in the look directly at it sense. More like she loves when the sun rays are streaming through the leaves of the trees in the early morning, reflecting off the early morning dew.

1 obscure fact about your OC's?

Mina Cousland- She never wanted the life of a noble woman. She never wanted to marry and be stuck at home while her husband got to go out and have adventures. She didn’t want to put her blades down. Yet without a second thought, she married Alistair and became his queen and didn’t use her blades nearly as often as she used but she wouldn’t change that for anything in the world. 

Clea Mahariel- Clea is closed off and distant because she’s afraid of letting people in and getting hurt by them. It takes alot of patience and trust and time and someone very special for her to let her guard down and let them in, even more so for her to love them. She found a kindred spirit in Zevran and that is probably part of why she fell in love with him as hard as she did. 

Thea Hawke- When Thea was a small child and Bethany’s magic manifested, she was jealous that she didn’t also get any magic. This was something she grew out of a few years after that when she began actively training with blades and also a quarterstaff and found that she loved the feel of it.

Amara Lavellan- While she acts very serious and all business in dealing with matters of the Inquisition, her guilty pleasure is art. She loves sketchy portraits of people around Skyhold and in various other places that the party travels to. Whenever she feels overwhelmed or just needs to cool down and relax, that’s what she does. 

Nyssa Lavellan- Nyssa’s magic manifested itself when she was about 8 and was struck by lightening out by a lake while she was exploring outside the Dalish camp. Instead of killing her, the lightening seemed to awake the magic within her, giving her a very strong affinity for the element, more so than any other mage ever seen as well as leaving 2 large star shaped scars on the palms of her hands. 

Ygritte an Cathala O Hawkehold- Ygritte is the type of person who feels the weight of the world is on her shoulders and that she has to do everything for everyone. She blames herself often for things that aren’t her fault and that she has no control over.

Mirra Theirin- She is a very gifted pianist and has perfect pitch, able to play anything by ear after only hearing it once. It’s a skill she doesn’t use very often but one she’s had since birth. She doesn’t really tell anyone about it cause it used to embarrass her somewhat.

The possibility of Jon x Dany in the books is one reason why I’m ok if we never get them. As long as it isn’t published, I can believe GRRM won’t do that to Jon. 😁

No matter how many wonderful metas I read, I can’t convince myself with 100% certainty he wouldn’t tho. What do you feel like the odds are of an Ygritte 2.0 situation? Do you think you’re borrowing trouble or that it there’s a strong likelihood it will happen? For some reason, I’m more inclined to believe it now than ever. 😩

Well, the Show prepared me for disaster, and I'm pretty much a pessimistic, so I expect the worse lmao....

I mean, it is possible that George changed the pseudo Stark incest (forbidden until they find out they're not siblings) for the unintentional Targ incest (ok romance until they find out they're related)??? Yeah, it's possible.

But, I think that the same way as it happened in the show, it will be very dubious in the Books, like what happened with Ygritte, like this Fire and Blood passage:

It is really sad for Jon, really, really sad, like he is sentenced to fall -under dubious circumstances- for a toxic person again and worse. It's almost as if GRRM secretly or not so secretly hates Jon or something....

I know that it's probably not anything, but the name Ygritte is likely based off of the word Egret, which is a long-legged bird that is found lakes and rivers. Sansa has been called a bird (by Cersei and the Hound) and has some association with rivers (through her Tully family; she lost Lady near a river). More parallels between Jon's present and future love interests?

I don’t particularly like when Sansa is called “little bird”, that was an insult.  Look at this list of all the times Sansa was called that.       

We also have Varys’ little birds, a network of spies. Not a good association. 

Right now she is under the disguise of Alayne Stone, whose father has precisely little birds as sigil: “Coat of arms of House Baelish of Harrenhal. A field of silver mockingbirds, on a green field”. 

The only little bird that I would like to be associated with Sansa is the nightingale.  

Meanwhile, the times when Sansa associated herself with birds, those are birds of prey: Hawks and Falcons:

There are theories about Sansa warging into a bird.  This generation of Stark children is deeply connected with the Children of the Forest.  For example, the eyes of the COTF are the same colors of the Stark Children’s direwolves.  Some COTF are called singers, others dancers.  Sansa is a singer too, so, since she lost her direwolf Lady, Sansa’s soul could live in some bird after her human body dies.  This applies to all of the Stark Children really.

Now, about Ygritte’s name, it really could be yet one more parallel, yes. Ygritte being named after the Egret bird reminds me of another lady, Rose of the Red Lake, a legendary daughter of Garth Greenhand and ancestor of House Crane of Red Lake.  

ROSE OF RED LAKE, a skinchanger, able to transform into a crane at will—a power some say still manifests from time to time in the women of House Crane, her descendants.

House Crane of Red Lake is a noble house from Red Lake in the Reach. It is one of the principal houses sworn to House Tyrell. They blazon their shield with a vee of golden cranes on pale blue.

I even find some similarities between Bael the Bard and Garth Greenhand, the legendary ancestors of these three women.

Thank you for that little easter egg! :) No, that is NOT a coincidence, GRRM is a massive nerd and loves hints, puzzles and playing with language. I wish I had a list of all his hidden language hints. 

As for birds… oh boy. The birds. 

Birds are usually associated with conflict or dark mentors. 

Jon has Ygritte (egret) and Sansa has Littlefinger (mockingbird), Bran has the Three-Eyed Crow.

Haggon did not hold with such. "Some skins you never want to wear, boy. You won't like what you'd become." Birds were the worst, to hear him tell it. "Men were not meant to leave the earth. Spend too much time in the clouds and you never want to come back down again. I know skinchangers who've tried hawks, owls, ravens. Even in their own skins, they sit moony, staring up at the bloody blue."  (ADWD, Prologue)

The power of flight is the ultimate temptation. 

Bran (you’ll never walk again but you will fly), Dany (fire-spitting war machines offering the Illusion of legitimate rule), Sansa (LF offering her the illusion of safety, respect and power), Jon (Ygritte offering the illusion of love, Dragons offering the Illusion of help against the Others), Arya (Faceless men offering the illusion of unlimited justice), etc etc etc… They are all offered a taste of vast power, but all are ultimately in greater danger of becoming a tool of destruction in the process.

Dany has - literally - taken off. “Moon of my life” has gone moony up in the bloody blue. 

Stannis has chosen (and will choose again and worse) the dark side:

The Starklings will each in their own way turn back from the brink and stick with Proudwing/Weakwing, i.e. their own limintations (disability, bastardy, no satisfying vengeance, no easy path home).

But individually, it’s probably a lot more complex, birdwise.

Sparrows and “Little Birds” are underestimated powers from below. They, too, are treacherous and wielded by dark forces and will turn against you eventually. 

Birds of prey (eagle, falcon, peregrine, hawk,..) are objects of human interaction. Either as hunting pets, as warging targets, as creatures to care for or to threaten with (Proudwing v. Thunderclap) - or as threats to ravens/crows. Orell’s eagle attacks Jon, hawks are the #1 listed threat to messenger ravens. 

In a way, they represent tools to wield by the heroes as learned in their Mentor training. Warging, magic, or people (Young Falcon) or animal familiars (direwolves v. dragons), or loyalties (someone you connect with personally v. someone who can achieve your goals for you). They can be useful, but they can claw back. If you choose wrong, your path may be dark.

Swans are associated with conflict. Black and White swans fight it out in the arms of House Swann, they are served when Tyrion and Cersei square off and he hates them ever since. But Arianne and Arya also see serenity and beauty.  

Ducks … I don’t even want to try. There’s too much. Crows are worse.

Arya is especially associated with eating birds, she either does or fantasizes about eating ducks, hawks, swans, pidgeons… Arya is going to take down some flying threats.

There’s probably room for 3 to 112 metas on bird metaphors/imagery/symbolism in the books.

Ygritte is very easy to draw because GRRM described her so well. A small hawk for her.

Sansa would own a pegasus for sure!

And Arya, I know this is not a mythical animal, but she’d be best friends with foxes!

Celia/Tormund verse: Given that in the headcanons you put that Celia is some sort of mother figure for Jon, I'd like to see her mothering him

Jon nervously went to Tormund’s woman. She wasn’t a spearwife and was quite small in comparison. Celia Fireblood was the same height as Jon, but her piercing eyes were like a hawk, piercing and all-seeing.

“You expect to survive winter in a cloak that weathered?”

“Come into the tent, boy, and strip.”

Jon blushed.

“I’ve seen bigger men than you, lad. No need to blush like one of your Southron ladies.”

It made him think of Sansa.

“Come along now. Don’t want our little crow freezing to death.” She huffed a laugh. “Snow dying in the cold.” She shook her head and Jon followed her into the tent. “Warm up by the fire and don’t you worry, Ygritte won’t come in here. She and I don’t get on and she avoids me when she can.”

“Why’s that?”

“Easy, frighten her. I’ve got a soft strength, as Mance says. I don’t look it, but I’ve got the strength of a mama bear when I’m threatened. It’s why Tormund has a crooked nose.”

“You broke his nose?”

“Had to steal me twice.” She got out her sewing things and began to mend his clothes. “Didn’t want a man to think he could control me if he wanted to.”
