So we finished descent into avernus and some things happened!!!

We were able to redeem Zariel!!! Ingrid is now also sort of on her payroll (wooot redemption arc buddies)

I’m so proud of Ingrid she left her cult and manipulative father figure/ cult leader (who was responsible for Kaspar’s death among other things).

 She also parted ways with Myrkul respectfully. She thanked him for her second chance at life but she couldn’t serve him anyone. She’ll always have reverence for him and death. He admitted it was a shame to let “such a useful pawn” go but gave his blessing, telling her he’d see her again when her time came and saying “May your life be long and your death swift.” 

 It was a very cool moment for her. Now she’s headed out with Kasper to find her twin and his family. I haven’t decide if she’ll return to Tyr or another god now but she’s def back to being a protector aasimar with Valkyrie vibes.

I’m very excited about the possibility of the dead three coming into play later in bg3. My PC for descent into avernus is a fallen aasimar and cleric of Myrkul set to take over her cult (or she was we have one session left and Ingrid had ANOTHER crisis of faith while on Myrkul mandated cleric probation). I want to write her into my bg3 fics so badly! She and Astarion are weirdly very similar people and I want to see them talk! Ingrid is also someone who seeks power and control to compensate for her unaddressed issues BUT she’s also made friends in healthy contentions outside of the toxic environment she is used to and that’s changed her somewhat. I just think Ingrid and Astarion would have a lot to talk about regardless of if she says with Myrkul or not.

Last night was a very emotional session for my Ingrid. 

Fashioned around her hips is the skull of a village boy she tried to bring back when she was 16 after the murdered boy’s family begged her order to bring back their son. She did so against the express wishes of the Elder Doom as Myrkulyte priests are rarely allowed to raise the dead on their own accord.

Kaspar and Ingrid had begun a secret relationship that the Elderdoom would have most certainly forbidden. As is the custom of the order Ingrid was a very reclusive person. The first time Kaspar saw her his heartbroken seeing the loneliness in her eyes. He spent his days trying to speak to her until she finally caved in and broke her silence. She soon began sneaking out from the Temple to see him.

The cynical Ingrid was attracted to his optimistic world view. Kaspar often inviting her to “Suspend her disbelief” and see the world as it could be rather than how it was. 

When Kaspar was murdered his family begged the cultists to bring him back but they insisted there was no compelling reason to do so. Ingrid desperate to save her love attempted to save him. Young and inexperienced the boy came back wrong. The Elder Doom forced her to strike him down herself. This was the day she began to believe that no good deed goes unpunished. From that point on she was completely loyal to her order.

As punishment, She now must carry his soul bound to his skull until Ingrid fulfills her debut. 

Ingrid made the acquaintance of a fellow necromancer, Krull. Long story short she had a crisis of faith and now suspects that that the Elderdoom, her religious leader and father figure might have been responsible for her lovers death. He brought the party to  Arkhan who brought Kasper back using the hand of Vecana. Our half-orc  Bard, Barris (@her-royal-jewness​ ), sacrificed himself for Ingrid and her lover. 

Now Kasper is back! Barris also cheated death and returned as a teifling! I’m so shook about what this means for Ingrid and her loyalty to her cult. just AHHHHHH ALL OF THE FEELINGS!!

Her parents were proper hippies (her mom owns a metaphysical shop)

They were 17-18ish when she was born and were never married

Her wood elf dad already had one older daughter 

Her dad is estranged from his wife and lives in a commune  

She sings in a punk/indie band

Her day job is working in her mom’s shop.

she speaks 5 languages: English & Gaelic from her mom, Elvish & Slyvan from her dad

She learned Orchish from a half orc ex boyfriend 

She radiates chaotic party girl energy 

Fronts super tough but is actually a tender heart 

Street smart.

Charms the pants of everyone she meets

Her sisters are also overachievers so she’s got a lot of pressure to live up to.

She’s lost a lot of people so she’s got a lot of sympathy for those going through mourning.  

Religious but isn’t a jerk about it

Comes off super icy and is very hard to get to know

Really into blue grass music

Wears a necklace with the ash’s of her longtime sweetheart , Kasper, at all times.

Has depression & some anger issues but takes medication and handles it well.
