afternoon shelby chaos
pairing: tommy shelby x reader
warning: mild swearing
summary: you don't feel well, so tommy looks after the children
Tumblr media
"Alright, what are the rules?". Tommy asked, looking up and down the line from youngest to oldest - Florence (6), Theo (11), Charlie (12) and Ava (15) - all stood in the foyer, called upon to a family meeting to sort out how the day was going to go.
Theo shot his hand sky high, proudly reciting. "No running. No making loud noises. And no bothering Mama while she rests".
"That's right. If we play inside, it's quiet playing. Mama isn't feeling well”. Another hand rose. "Yes, Florence?".
"Is she going to be okay?".
"She will be fine, Flo. All she needs is rest".
Florence breathed a sigh of relief, clutching her giraffe for comfort. Beside her Theo patted her shoulder, providing some additional brotherly comfort, which Florence happily took.
"Can we go play now?". Charlie asked.
Tommy nodded, his eyes trained on Ava, whose interest had been elsewhere. She avoided eye contact making her way upstairs. The other three children scattered to the living room. Florence played with her doll house, and the boys opted for drawing to occupy their time. Tommy ventured to his office, having put off sorting through the documents and papers on his desk long enough. By mid-afternoon, the quiet lifted. Voices growing in equal parts frustration and anger. Tommy stormed from his office, Flo and Theo stomping into the foyer.
"What did I say the rules were, eh?". Tommy sternly asked, eyes narrowing in on his two children.
They stood in front of his office door, glancing down at the hardwood floor, replying in unison. "No making loud noises".
"Then why are we yelling?".
Within seconds Theo and Florence began talking over each other, making more noise than their stomping. Tommy put up his hand, and silence immediately followed.
"Flo, you go first".
Her innocent blue eyes peered up at Tommy. She knew how to use them as well as he did. They were Tommy’s kryptonite. Although, he never admitted it. But you knew Flo had him wrapped around her finger.
"Theo hid my giraffe and won't tell me where".
Tommy turned to Theo, knowing how mischievous his son could be. Learning all the tricks and skills from John and Arthur, despite Tommy’s disapproval.
"Where's her giraffe, Theo?".
"I didn't take it!"
"Yes, you did!" Florence shouted back.
"You're being a baby. It's just a stupid toy".
Her eyes watered. To her, Mr Giraffe was precious. Clutched in her tiny hands since birth. Mr Giraffe had gotten her through bad dreams, celebrated every Birthday and survived getting lost in Johnny Dogs camp.
Tommy stepped forward, eyes on Theo. "Tell me where you hid the giraffe, and then apologize to your sister".
"I didn't take it". Theo crossed his arms.
"Alright, then who did?".
"I did". Charlie walked in, holding the giraffe. He handed it back, apologizing to Florence for upsetting her. She happily accepted, kissed Charlie on the cheek and skipped off to her room to take care of Mr Giraffe.
"I'm sorry, dad. I didn't want Charlie to get into trouble".
"I told Theo not to do it. I can handle trouble".
Tommy lightly chuckled. Both Shelby's through and through. "Don't steal your sister’s giraffe ever again, alright?. Either of you. You're supposed to protect her, not make her upset".
"We will. Promise". They each replied.
"Good, lads. Now, go play".
As they quietly ran off, Ava wandered down the stairs, almost making it to the door, but the damn creak of the floor alerted Tommy.
"Where are you going?". He asked, walking towards his eldest.
"To Johnny Dogs camp. Mum said I could go".
"You asked your mother when she's supposed to be resting".
"No, I asked her yesterday".
Tommy sighed, one crisis adverted and within seconds another took its place. "You stay here, alright. Help look after your brothers and sister".
"I have plans, dad. I'm not going to give them up to play babysitter".
"You will do whatever I say. No running off to Johnny Dogs camp".
"That is so unfair!” Ava remarked. “Mum said I could go".
"And now I'm saying you can't. Don't think I don't know why you're sneaking off. That boy you've been fooling around with stops right now, understand?. No more sneaking off to the river. No more fucking late nights".
“I’ll be home by 9″.
"Ava, don't you dare walk out that fucking door!”. He ordered, watching his daughter defy his authority and leave with no regret. “Ava!"
The three younger kids lined up on the first step, watching the scene unfold. Flo spoke first, her soft voice, partly soothing Tommy’s anger. "Daddy, we're not supposed to be making loud noises".
"Forgive me, sweetheart. Daddy's temper got the best of him".
"Where's Ava going?". Theo quizzed, tilting his head to get a better angle on Ava walking across the stone-gravel driveway before the door closed.
"Clearly to suck face with that Rob guy". Charlie responded, nudging his brother. Theo nudged back, sticking out his tongue.
"That's enough, both of you. Off you three go and wash up for dinner".
The boys ran off, betting each other whoever finished last had to take the smaller slice of cake for dessert. Florence smoothed Mr. Giraffe’s fur, curiosity promoting her next question.
"Daddy? What does suck face mean?"
Picking her up with ease, Tommy tickled her, causing a marvelous sound of giggles to erupt. "Something you're not allowed to do until your 30". She nodded, wrapping her arms around Tommy's neck.
As the children settled into dinner with Frances’ help, Tommy opted for a peaceful cigarette in his office before heading upstairs to check on you.
"How are you feeling, love?".
"Tired. How are the children?".
"They are fine. Eating dinner as we speak". Sinking onto the bed, you carefully moved to massage his shoulders.
"What did Ava do?".
"Left to go to Johnny Dogs camp".
"I told her she could go. Why are you so upset about it?".
He exhaled, rubbing his temple to lessen the afternoon headache. "Our daughter is seeing Johnny's cousin or distant cousin, whatever the fuck he is. And I don't like it alright".
"Tommy, sweetheart. I already have one headache, please don't give me another".
"You're alright with this, eh?".
"With Ava growing up, we kinda have to be. So you better start getting used to the idea of her dating”.
“Not going to happen, love”.
You chuckled, expecting nothing less than over-protective tendencies from Tommy, especially when it came to his children. Laying back down, Tommy’s hand settled on your stomach. "Do you want some more tea?".
You shook your head, having too many cups of tea already. “When are we going to tell them?"
"A few more days".
"Maybe Ava's already figured it out". You pondered, having thought all day about the cause of Ava’s sudden mood shift and rebellious behaviour.
"You think she's acting out because you're pregnant?".
”It's a thought that's crossed my mind. For a while, it was just three of us. Then Charlie came, then Theo and a few years later came Florence. Now, we have another little Shelby on the way. I'm worried that Ava may feel left out, overshadowed".
Tommy thought about it for a moment, adding up Ava’s recent behaviour with the new information you presented. She had been quiet and distant, often keeping to her room, as well as challenging even the most basic rules set out for all the children. Never had Ava been so brazen in behaviour or attitude, not until a few weeks ago.
"Ava was our first born. She'll always matter to me in a different way". He replied, thinking back on the day Ava was brought home. Tommy was a nervous wreck, although, he did not show it. Often when you slept he would stand in the nursery door threshold, watching over Ava.
"I know. Maybe we need to remind her of that".
Hearing Ava's footsteps make their way upstairs, you tapped Tommy’s shoulder. He stood, coming back with a reluctant daughter. Her shoulders relaxed when she saw your reassuring smile that a lecture was not awaiting.
"How was your night, darling?".
Tommy grimaced as he sat back down, you gently placing a hand on his thigh to calm him.
"Fine. Are you feeling any better?"
"A little". You smiled, patting the space beside you. As Ava sat, Tommy gave the two of you some space, leaning on the vanity. "You know that I'm pregnant, don't you?".
"I overheard you telling dad".
"Sweetheart, that was weeks ago. Why didn't you say anything?".
"Why haven't you?".
Your eyes flickered to Tommy, he nodded, encouraging any answer you gave he would support. "We were waiting for the right time. And I know you hate change. And the addition of another sibling is a very big change. But I want you to know, your father and I will always have enough love for you".
"Promise?".
"With all my heart". You replied, beckoning her over for a hug.
Looking from you to Tommy, Ava’s mood began to improve. "You both know whether this baby is a boy or girl, one of us we'll be uneven".
Tommy smiled. "She makes a good point, love".
"Alright, settle down. Let's just wait until this Shelby is born before we start talking about adding another one".
Ava laughed, sharing one more piece of knowledge. "Also, Uncle John and Arthur have placed bets".
"They've done what now?". Tommy straightened, his interest peaking.
"John, Finn, Lizzie and Isaiah have all placed money on a boy. And Ada, Polly, Arthur and Linda have all said it’s a girl. And Aunt Polly is never wrong. She predicted all of us". Kissing you on the cheek, Ava bid each of you a good night.
Once the door closed, Tommy unbuttoned his shirt, sensing your stare and what it meant. "Tomorrow, I will talk to them about the bets".
"Thank you". You placed your hands on your stomach, drifting off in thought. "She's right. Polly’s never been wrong. And Florence isn't going to like that. She hates when your attention isn't on her".
"Sounds like someone else I know". He smirked, kissing your shoulder. Making himself comfortable, Tommy rested most of his weight on his arm. Rubbing in slow circular motions, careful to not upset your stomach. "Another girl, eh. What shall we name her?".
"I think it's your turn to decide. I named Florence".
"No, you named Theo and Ava. I named Florence and Charlie". He confidently remarked.
"Tommy, you did not name our daughter. I remember laying in this very bed, seven months pregnant and telling you I liked the name Florence".
"Alright, alright. It's my turn to name our daughter".
You smiled in between the kiss, resting your hand over his. The task of choosing a name never went smoothly, and this time was going to be no different. "How about we name her together this time".
"Fair enough. We'll even let the kids have a say".
"That is not going to end well".
"They'll want to be involved. There is no harm in letting them write down a name each".
You couldn’t help but laugh a little at his idea, already knowing that Florence’s paper would be blank, Ava’s would have at least three names and the boys would turn it into a contest rather than a helpful suggestion.
Looking over at Tommy, you kissed him again, moving to lay against his chest. "Tommy, after our daughter is born, try to not get me pregnant again".
"I'll try. But I can't make any promises. Especially if my wife can’t keep her hands off me". He smirked, specifically thinking of the memory after Charlie was born. You hadn’t craved Tommy’s touch more, pouting when other matters took his attention from you. In his office, several empty rooms, the bedroom and even under an old oak tree coming home from a party, Tommy couldn’t refuse his wife’s needs. Resulting in another pregnancy which came as no surprise. Nine months later, Theo was born.
“After this, I will be keeping my hands to myself”.
“I believe that’s what you said last time, love. And then we ended up with two more children”. He whispered, pressing his lips to your neck.
"Well, forgive me for liking my husband’s attention".
Tommy chuckled, leaning back against the pillow as you relaxed more in his arms. Both minds swirling with possible baby names.

Homesick
I don't really know what this is, it came to me at 1AM like wave of feelings that I suddenly needed to write down. Let me know if you like it.💗
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Today was perfect day. In every aspect, it was perfect, so why am I standing on the balcony, looking down at people celebrating Nick and his beautiful wife's wedding, crying and with anxiety attacking my body?
.
.
All of the Bad omens crew have been looking up to this day ever since Nick proposed to his girlfriend. Boys, including Noah, knew about it, but to everyone else it was surprise.
Me and Nick's girlfriend are close, we clicked immediately when Noah and Nick introduced us.
So I couldn't help but burst into happy tears when she send me picture of her hand with this beautiful ring Nick chose for her. It was almost a year ago, but it felt like yesterday.
.
Me and other bridesmaids spent the night before the wedding together with the bride to be, while boys used mine and Noah's apartment to hang out with Nick.
We woke up early and started with preparations. It was messy and chaotic, but I enjoyed it in a way. Seeing my friend with a smile on her face as she was about to marry the love of her life made me think about my friends back home.
I moved to the states 5 years ago for work. And for a change. My life back home was a mess and I needed to escape it. I stayed in touch with my best friends, but you can stay as close as the ocean between you allows you to.
We didn't expect that I would stay, I had work offer for a year. But then I met Noah. I never thought I would stay in a foreign country for a boy. When I extended my work contract we were dating only for 3 months, but it felt right.
After everything bad and sad that happened at home before I left, something finally felt right.
5 years later we are still together and I know I made right decision.
But it had sacrifices.
I never had a strong relationship with my family, I always considered my friends as my family. I moved from my hometown to a different town for university and saw my family just a few times a year, usually for occasions like someone's birthday. In a family aspect, I felt alone. I never called my mum to tell her about a boy I met or for cooking advice. She was always busy giving her time to her boyfriend, who I wasn't fan of. Neither he was of me. We drifted apart so easily and neither of us tried to put this so called mother daughter bond back together.
Between me and my dad wasn't a bad blood. We just had very casual relationship. We saw each other once in a few months, which now changed to phone calls once in a few months. He cares about me and loves me, we just weren't close at any point of my life.
So with my blood family, moving was easy.
But being without my friends? That hurts. Especially when I'm spending time with my new friends here in the states, like today.
I was part of the preparations, cake tasting, choosing dresses, making playlist and anything else you can think of. And I loved that. It just made me think of my childhood best friend's wedding. I could take only few days off at work, so I barely made it to bachellorete party, then wedding and then I came back here.
To help you understand my point, my friends went through every shit in my life. My parents divorce, my grandmother's cancer, my mom bringing home this new boyfriend, moving out of my childhood home to a new place, high school, moving for university, crying about my mother or crying about my heart breaks. They were there for me all the time.
.
.
After we had our makeups and hair done, me and other bridesmaids went to welcome the guests that started arriving at the venue.
It was family, friends and the BO crew, except for all four boys that actually created the band. Noah is Nick's best man and Folio and Jolly are groomsmen.
I started to feel homesick and guilty for enjoying my 'new' friends wedding that much with thought of my childhood friends. I couldn't wait for Noah to arrive to make me feel better.
.
"Excuse me lady, the legend says that the bride should be the most beautiful woman on a wedding day." I must have laughed at Noah's joke when he arrived while we had just a few minutes to talk before the ceremony started.
"Well I could say the same about you sir." I said as I placed my hands around his neck and pecked his lips.
"But really, you look beautiful Y/N." He said suddenly with a serious face, but with sincere look in his eyes as his hand caresed my cheek.
I think we both realized that our friends are getting married and that this day is gonna be full of love and happiness and that we're gonna spend it together.
.
The ceremony started just a few minutes after Noah and the boys have arrived. I was paired with Folio to walk down the aisle. I call Folio my Bad omens best friend. He's the one I'm closest with, we have the same sense od humor and I am voluntarily going fishing with him. I think that's how I get him to be my bestie.
.
I am very emotional person and I teared up a lot through the day, but when I saw Noah walk down the aisle I felt tear slide down my cheek. He was beautiful. I saw him in a suit only few times, so I am always amazed by how amazing he looks in it. Our eyes were locked the whole time he walked the aisle, we were smiling like it was ours wedding and I saw tear slip down his cheek too.
I was thinking if he's gonna ever propose to me, because we didn't talk about it yet. And with his family background and commitment issues, I am not sure if he even wants a marriage. He worked on himself a lot through our relationship, our begining wasn't easy. But we communicated and talked about our feelings to make it where we are today.
.
After the ceremony came to an end we moved to the lunch area, where me and Noah could finally spend some time together.
"It was really beautiful wasn't it?" I asked him with my mouth full with this delicious meal.
"It was. I didn't think I'd be this emotional."
"It was hard not to be."
We contiued to eat our meals, then there were some speeches and then the party began.
.
After few drinks the dancefloor was full with dancing bodies. Playlist was made of all genres and hits you could imagine. We were dancing in a circle, me and Folio the stars of the dancefloor.
Then Love story by Taylor Swift started playing and my mind went back to my thougts I had at the altar.
Noah came to me, connected our hands and started dancing with me. He wasn't fan of dancing, but he would do anything to make me happy.
We were swaying to the rhytm of the song and singing those famous lyrics.
"I can't wait until our day looks like this too." Noah said out of nowhere.
"Our day?" I wasn't sure what he meant by that, but I had a feeling.
"Yes, our day. I'm gonna marry you, did you think I am not going to?" He looked genuely surprised and maybe little hurt that I would think that.
"I just didn't know what is your opinion about marriage, we never had that conversation." I answered honestly. Taking his face in my hand and caresing my thumb on his cheek I couldn't resist the smile on my face.
"I know we didn't, but I was thinking about it. I never thought about it before I met you, but I also never thought I could have relationship longer than a few months, so I started thinking about marriage." He looks so cute and all flastered when he talks about his feeling, specially his feelings about me.
"I like that idea of you being my husband very much." I saw the uncertainty leave his face after my words.
"And I like the idea of you being my wife very much too."
.
After that song and conversation I excused myself and went to the bathroom.
I felt those anxious feelings in my chest and tears forming in my eyes. It was mix of happy and frustrated tears. I tried to compose myself and not to ruin the mood for myself and for everyone else.
.
That brings me to this moment where I'm standing at balcony and looking at everyone under me. Thank god the lights are pointing at the dancefloor, so I am hiden in a shadow and no one, especially Noah, can see the tears streaming down my face.
I should be happy. After today and the conversation with Noah, I should be happy. Why am I not happy? Or am I? Why do I feel like I have everything I ever wanted, but had to sacrifice my closest friends for it? Do I even like this country that I moved to? What if I want to move back home in the future, will Noah come with me? I suddenly felt so unsure about everything. So many thoughts running through my head as I continued watching those happy faces, while mine was soaked in tears.

[left on their bed (understandably a few days late) at their brooklyn home on 10/25/24] || @jbkrasinski
Hi, baby! I'd be remiss and the worst person ever to not acknowledge one of the greatest birthdays of all time - yours! Happy 45th, and apologies that this is going to be given to you late. It's currently...gosh, the 25th? To be fair, I wasn't expecting to go into labour for a little bit of time, so while the gifts were bought way in advance, I never got the chance to write the card. Which I'm a little grateful for, actually, because now I can tell you belatedly that October 20th has always been a favourite day of mine. When we'd first met, your birthday was one of the first things we got to celebrate together before we became official. I remember it like it was yesterday - how eager I was to bake you a cake from scratch, surprise you with a goofy shirt from your show that I'd seen and knew I had to buy you. It was another night of us staying up and talking about Lord know what. I'll never forget just how hard and quickly I fell for you, and to have gotten to know you that day and the many holidays after, I do not take for granted. It was the start of the best love story I know. And now? This year, five days ago in fact, we were lucky enough to get another birthday in on that very special day. MJ is a new, constant reminder of just how much we love each other and just how incredible it is to celebrate the birth of the ones you love. Another love story that we now get to write and celebrate. I know it's your birthday, but you gave me the gift of being a mum again, and for that I will always been in your debt. My two favourite humans (not including our other two) being born on the same day will always make the most sense to me. Happy birthday, sweetheart. I fall more in love with you every single day, without fail. Adoringly yours, Em xx

Hello there :)
I'm now in Coffee Lane, Penang. Just had dimsum with my parents. I don't know why, but it's such a lovely Sunday. Though the Penang's infamous heat is killing me.
And today, I decided to take an off day and recharge :)
Yesterday, I brought my parents out for a dinner at E steak house. Both my dad and I ordered rib eye. I think back then I can never afford to spend without thinking (not saying that I'm able to do so now...), but I feel good that I can take charge and foot the bill. Just like how the old days were, when my dad used to pay for the meal right?
And yeah it was to celebrate my mum's birthday. Ever since she had to do dialysis, she has certain food restrictions, so it's not so easy to find a restaurant that serves food that she can eat.
Funny how I was actually looking forward to the dinner yesterday, been researching about the menu and all. I did look forward to it.
And yesterday, instead of going back home straight, I suggested to have some drinks. My dad said he didn't want, but I knew he wanted it. I mean I wanted it too. At first I wanted to visit Junk Cafe but unfortunately, google maps just brought me to no where. I think I would be quite frustrated because things were out of my control and I didn't get to go where I wanted. But again, I chose to let go and just stopped by a bar by the roadside.
Had 2 cosmopolitan, and it was a good night indeed.
This morning, had dim sum with my parents, and I just feel like it's the perfect way to start my / our day. And I'm just really really grateful for this. I'm counting my blessings.
And I feel like i haven't really addressed my feelings for K. I attempted to this Friday but I guess my bladder was too full to the extent that I couldn't write shit haha. So shall we?
I think in terms of healing, I feel like I'm headed to the right direction. I think I'm just a bit surprised on how well I'm taking this. Is this part of my growth or?
I think it's also just embracing of the art of letting things go and the laws of detachment. I think the rational and logical realizations helped me in braving through this emotional storm a lot. Emotionally speaking, I think i'm doing fine too. Back then, I would have felt that I'm unworthy of love, that I'm not enough and I'm being abandoned. But now, I recognize that I deserve so much more. And in fact, I made the decision and took the action to slowly phasing him out of my life, I honour my self worth and it's truly an act of loving myself.
I don't regret my brief 6 months with him. It's just, I'm disappointed that I didn't recognize red flags or rather traits that don't necessarily align with what I'm looking for at the moment. I was blinded by infatuation. And I had the false impression that "may be I'm okay with this", "may be things will be better", "may be he will love me". But the truth is, he may be able to love me, but the intensity of the love that he can give me, is just so limited. He is a man with a few baggages, with an existing family that I can never be part of it. And I really do want to be included as part of the family. So yeah.
I don't hate him. But I do feel that he knows what he was doing, yet, he decided to string me along despite knowing that he will not be able to provide me with what i wanted. So when he wanted to end things, it was such a huge gesture and indeed he was doing me favour.
Since then, I feel a bit happier, feel a bit lighter. I guess one thing is that, always trust your gut feeling, at least in navigating relationship.
So Chapter K, closed, officially.
I have been watching sex and the city. Ironically, I find it so so so relatable to my current situation. Now, does everything happens for a reason? It just further enhances my experience with K, it also allows me to see where I was at from a third party perspective. And sometimes I feel like Carrie, cos I'm also write, though not a columnist, but rather, just journalling and blogging.
In this city filled with million of people, why is it so difficult to meet someone? Am I being too picky? or did I not put myself out there?
I guess love will find its way to you when you least expect it to happen. For now, I'll just be patient.
I'm manifesting goodness, for goodness to happen, to me and people I love.
Love,
Wins

Today my dear Rockstar turns twelve. Only one birthday was I allowed to celebrate with him and my damn brain have that day blocked. As so many other days. ''Google turns 25 today'', dad said to me and mum early this morning. ''Ooh that's so cool. Wasn't your grandmother's brother born today, or was it yesterday?'', mum said to him. ''His birthday was yesterday'', dad said. They counted out how old he would have become. ''Your mother was just ten years younger than him, and my friend's younger sister had her birthday sunday just like her'', mum said. They remember every birthday, but not my family. I was there, I was right there. Why didn't I said anything about my boy? Because I've learned the hard way to never tell. This is my punishment for not doing what I should have done. I can hear him crying with me.. I never want to write texts like this on their birthday's but this is how it is and I don't want to hide how it is all the time.

Seeing as it's Aaron Tveit's birthday today! Could I request a fic with Aaron and female reader? Where she tells him she's pregnant on his birthday. I love reading your Aaron fics!!!
Baby Tveit
Tumblr media
You had been excited all day to tell Aaron your news. You had found out that you were pregnant and decided that today would be the best day to tell him because of it being his birthday; you thought that you could turn it into a present and tell him creatively. Aaron had noticed throughout the day that you seemed to be nervous and excited all at the same time but whenever he asked you about it, you simply told him that you were excited about giving him his present and that you hoped he liked it.
The whole day was spent celebrating Aaron’s birthday; you made him breakfast in bed where the two of you ended up cuddling underneath the duvet for an hour or so while you watched an episode of whatever TV show you were watching on Netflix. After that, you both went for a walk with Miles around the park near your house where you met up with some of Aarons family. By the time you got back home, you were beat.
‘Sit down, right there, and I’ll be back in a second,’ you said, guiding Aaron to sit on the sofa while you went upstairs to get his present.
‘I promise I won’t move,’ he said with a smirk in his voice and he made a show of going completely still, making you giggle. You ran upstairs and opened your wardrobe, rooting underneath a pile of clothes until you felt the box that you had hidden yesterday afternoon. You took a moment to yourself to breathe, holding the box in your hands; this box symbolised the start of a whole new adventure for the two of you.
Heading back downstairs, you couldn’t help but laugh when you saw Aaron sitting in exactly the same position as he was when you had left the room. ‘Were you like that the whole time?’
‘I might have moved a little bit,’ he said, smiling softly at you and you knew that now was the perfect time to tell him the news because you knew that this was the man you were going to be in love with for the rest of your life.
You sat next to him on the sofa, holding the box tightly in your hands and you just took a moment to look at him. He looked back at you with that soft smile still playing on his lips, his love for you clear in his eyes.
‘Whatcha got there?’ he asked quietly, not taking his eyes away from yours.
‘Your present.’ You said, snapping yourself out of your thoughts and holding the box out to him. ‘I got a bit excited so there’s something in there for me as well.’
Grinning at you, he took the box from you and carefully started to open it, not knowing how fragile the present was going to be. When he first looked into the box, he frowned slightly, not knowing exactly what it was as he looked at a pile of fabric. Pulling the first piece out, he unfolded it to reveal a t-shirt in his size that said Dad: My Biggest Role Yet. He looked over at you, his breath catching in his throat as tears filled his eyes. ‘Is this what I think it is?’ he asked, his voice cracking as he spoke.
‘Just keep looking,’ you encouraged. He smiled shakily at you and took one of your hands in his as he used the other to pull out the next t-shirt; a slightly smaller t-shirt that said Mum: In Progress. Tears filled your own eyes as Aaron let out a broken laugh before bringing your hand to his lips and pressing a kiss on the back of your hand. He went to say something but you just shook your head and pointed back at the box where the last item was sitting. It was a tiny baby grow that looked even smaller in Aaron’s hands, on it it said: Baby Tveit: Enter Centre Stage.
‘We’re going to have a baby?’ he asked, turning his full attention to you, a couple of tears having had fallen down his cheeks.
‘We’re going to have a baby,’ you confirmed and Aaron laughed and pulled you into him, holding you against him. ‘Happy Birthday, baby.’

India Molly dear!!! How are you? Oh my Newton Molly! You have no idea how much I know what you are going through! My name is Nabila (which is not a common name here in Argentina) and in all of my years in earth I've been called every name you can posible think (once someone called me Sabrina, and I was like, ... ok????)
I don't know how to correct people either! It's supper awkward and more when they call you by a name that's not yours in front of someone who knows you. Thank Newton my family and friends are used to it by now and we laugh about it, but it has been a ride.
Now, I have a question for you. Tomorrow is February 24th which means is Neddy's ACUPOP birthday!!!! (I swear to Newton that I have a remainder on my calendar)
Tumblr media
See??!!!
I know you have million things to do, but if you have time, can I ask you to give us a little glimpse on Neddy's first birthday with Anthony? Or Neddy's birth if Kate and Anthony were still together?
Thank you so much!
I hope you have an amazing week!!!
I don't know how to correct people. Yesterday someone at work used my mug and I didn;t even know how to say
Hey, that's my mug. It says Viscountess Bridgerton on it's clearly not for common use.
So I watched her make her coffee, drink it while wishing ill on her, and then cleaned it up and hid it somewhere. I am an adult.
It is Neddy's birthday! (For me at least!) I can't believe you remembered!
So let's take a look at how Anthony's doing with his boy's fourteenth birthday
Anthony was excited. No, actually, excited was an understatement, he was thrilled, over the moon, brimming with joy because in a few weeks he was going to get to celebrate his son's birthday for the very first time.
He'd started planning immediately after Christmas, even while Neddy was still setting up his new Playstation with excited wonder, while his hands shook, and he had his new sneakers on his feet, and the rest of his presents still littered the floor. His voice had shaken when he'd come downstairs, hair still rumpled, in his pyjamas,
"Merry Christmas." He'd kissed Kate on the cheek and wrapped his arms tightly around Anthony's chest, before he'd said. "Um- are we having breakfast or-?" As though he was confused, and Anthony had chuckled.
"You don't want to open your presents?"
Edmund had shaken his head, "Can I save it for a bit?"
Something had flashed across Kate's face, something like hurt as she'd hidden her face in his neck for a moment before she'd cleared her throat, "I'll make you breakfast sweetheart."
And afterwards Edmund had scooted closer to the tree, his brow furrowing, "These are- there's a lot here for me."
Anthony's brow had furrowed "Who did you think they would be for?"
Edmund had shrugged, moving just a little closer, "I usually get three. One from Mum, One from Grandma Mary, One from Eddie. That's... usually all that was there."
Anthony's chest had burned, "Well maybe I twisted your Mum's arm a little this year." And he'd promised himself this birthday would be the best Edmund had ever had.
"I'm sorry I didn't get you more this year." Anthony had hummed into his wife's ear as she fell asleep that night, his hand pressed against where the new life was forming.
Kate scoffed, "You got me 13 presents Anthony. And I made you a painting, if anyone should be apologising it's me."
"You're pretty much exempt from getting me presents forever: you keep giving me really great fucking kids." Anthony had said even as she scoffed. "It can't have been easy, all those years with him, I know it wasn't and you deserve everything just as much as he does."
Kate had stilled, her eyes flicking around the room before she said, "I had to save all year. To get him two presents. One for Christmas, one for his birthday. All year."
Anthony had smiled sadly, "He loved them, and the time you spent together is irreplaceable."
She'd brushed their lips together, so softly he'd wanted to cry, "I'm sorry you didn't have that time."
So now here Anthony was, three weeks out from his son's birthday, his day off planned, Waiting for Edmund to bring it up, and he hadn't. Hadn't even mentioned something he'd like to do.
Anthony cleared his throat, trying to catch his son's attention from where he was gently playing with newton on the floor,
"Sprout, It's your birthday coming up."
He heard Kate hiss beside him at the lack of subtlety Jesus fucking christ. Edmund froze, his eyes shifting, his voice shaking.
"You remembered my birthday." Not a question, a statement, stinging at Anthony's chest, his voice dripping with emotion as he left his wife and sat down beside his son on the floor.
"You're my son, of course I know when your birthday is." Edmund had shifted so he was sitting a bit closer, tucked into Anthony's side really, emotion choking Anthony. "So what do you want to do? Do you wanna go to a themepark? You wanna go to Disneyland? We can go to the cinema, museum, what do you wanna do?"
Edmund had looked stunned, eyes drifting to Kate, who nodded encouragingly. "I'll... I'll be at school, it's a school day."
Kate hummed, "Dad and I decided that maybe just this once, you wouldn't have to go to school on your birthday."
He nodded slowly, "But the- you're busy."
"I'm never too busy for you and Mum. Okay?"
Silence had ring through the room, as his son had slowly nodded, "I don't... Mum usually just makes a cake, and we get takeaway and eat together. Can we just... maybe we can do that? And like... the three of us can just spend time together. We can play video games and watch movies and stuff. Maybe... if you wanna do that."
"I want to do whatever you want, sprout." Anthony's mind had already been ticking over, "Do you want the whole family for dinner?"
Edmund had started to nod, adjusting his glasses before he'd said, "Maybe, like if they wanna come."
Anthony had rolled his eyes, "Just try and keep them away."
Anthony had woken up early, bothering his wife while she put the finishing touches on a three tier chocolate cake "Are you sure it's-?"
"I've made thirteen of his birthday cakes Anthony, fuck off!"
"Is it possible, Kate, that you're feeling a little-?"
"Anthony if you say the word hormonal to me, I'll murder you, and this baby really won't have a father." Kate snapped, swatting his hands away.
Edmunds footsteps sounded in the hallway, less tentative than they had been at Christmas but still tentative, his head peeking round the doorframe.
"Happy Birthday!"
His grin lit up his face as he rushed forward, wrapping his mum in a tight hug, his other arm shooting out to pull Anthony into the mix, the three of them pressed together, happy and healthy and proud.
"Can I have cake for breakfast?"
"Obviously." Kate kissed his head, her eyes brimming with tears. "My baby's fourteen, I can't believe it."
"Mum..." Edmund trailed off pulling her a little tighter, and in moments like these it was hard not to see the little family unit the two of them must have made, when they only had each other.
Anthony had seen it, The video of Edmund's birth, hough he was sure the only time Kate had ever watched it was with him. Probably not wanted to relive how she'd screamed and cried and begged for him. and it caught in his throat.
"Alright Neddy, I need to finish the cake, open gifts with your Dad while I work."
Edmund had sat down nervously opening gift after gift, His eyes wide, and then he'd stopped, "It doesn't- It doesn't say who they're from. I don't know who to thank for what."
Anthony's brow had furrowed, looking at Kate who cleared her throat, realising quicker than he did, "These are from Dad and me, everyone else is bringing presents tonight."
"Oh. Right." Edmund had cleared his throat, staring down at them, his voice still soft, "I love them. I love you both."
It was easily one of the best days of Anthony's life. Sat in his pyjamas all day, with Kate tucked into his side, their incredible boy in front of him, his chest aching for all the times he'd missed this, watching movie after movie, game after game.
His family and Kate's loud and obnoxious while they showered his son with love.
"Dad, can I talk to you?"
He'd thought Edmund had gone to bed, he'd definitely gone upstairs but here he was, standing in the doorway, something clutched in his hand.
"Of course, Sprout, all ways. Is something wrong? Did you not have a good day?"
"I had the best day, that's kind of... what this is about." He looked nervous as he scooted to sit beside him at the breakfast bar. sliding the piece of paper he'd had in his hand across the counter. Only it wasn't a piece of paper at all, it was a photograph.
Creased and careworn, but still Anthony recognised it. It had sat in a frame beside his bed until Kate had taken it when she'd been taken from him, one last memory of the life they'd wanted to live. He was all of nineteen, freshly married and stupidly in love with the woman in his arms, his back against a palm tree, and Anthony couldn't breathe. It was obvious the picture had been taken out so many times, pored over, kept and kept and kept, and he knew why.
"For a really long time this was all I had of you, and I used to take it out on my birthday and try and imagine the person you were and what it would be like if you were my Dad. Properly my Dad, like if you came back for me."
Anthony couldn't breathe, imagining a tiny boy, a tiny version of Edmund doing that, in secret, away from Kate, where she couldn't be made to feel bad about it. "Neddy I'm- I wanted to be there."
"I know that now." He shrugged, his voice matter of fact. "I'm not trying to make you feel bad, I'm just- I realised today I haven't looked at this picture in a long time now, and you're not really how I imagined-" Oh god, Anthony was going to die, He was. On Edmund's birthday. "But that's probably because I don't even think I knew what a Dad really was like. And - I guess I'm just. You're the best Dad ever and I'm really glad you're here and that you're mine."
Anthony couldn't see through his tears, couldn't even breathe as he swept his son into his arms, holding him there for a very long moment. "I love you so much, neddy, you know that right?"
Edmund nodded against him, his voice muffled, "I love you too, Dad."
A hysterical sob cut through the silence, startling them both. Kate was standing in the corner, walked in some time ago obviously, tears streaming down her face.
anthony was out of his seat before he could blink, "Kate what's-?"
"I'm fine, I'm just-" She took a shuddering breath.
"Hormonal?" Edmund said helpfully.
"Happy." Kate rolled her eyes, "after everything I've done for him, he still turned out just like you." she poked anthony's chest, irritated as he chuckled.
"But he's cute though."
"He's the best though."

the prompt was: 'you and tom are best friends and you tell him that you love him on his birthday'
Tumblr media
summary: its toms birthday but he has a few things to get off his chest and into the night sky, y/n joins in with a bit of a revelation too
best friends -> lovers
warnings: mentions of alcohol, bit angsty but promise ends all fluffy and a shit tonne of dialogue
wc: 3.5k ishhh
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Everything got a little too wild and stuffy in the living area, Haz and Harry screaming sweet caroline, whilst Greg (Tom’s stunt man) was pouring *another* round of shots. The sweatiness and clamminess of the room meant Y/n took a moment to escape, sliding out the double doors, and closing them softly behind her to ensure no one would notice her little escape. Something about the midnight air, the slightly dewy smell of the neighbouring fields, felt like it was refreshing Y/n from the inside out. When she turned around, back facing the fancy rented house, she was slightly shocked by Tom standing in the garden. It was his birthday party after all. In all honesty, Y/n felt a bit guilty she hadn’t noticed he wasn’t in the thick of it with his brothers and castmates.
His silhouette was set against the clear night sky, the stars extra prominent this evening and the moon casting a soft glow off the left side of his face, exaggerating the natural contours of his jawline and cheekbones. Clearly, he was enraptured by the sky, staring up at it with a thoughtful look on his face.
And Y/n recognised that look instantly; she knew what he was doing.
In fact, he had taught her to do precisely the same thing. As kids, the Hollands, Y/n’s family and another two families from the local area all went camping together. It was an annual event, ‘the Kingston collective camping adventure’ as Dom had named it. Y/n couldn’t remember a year when they hadn’t gone actually - it was that much of a tradition.
One year, though, when she and Tom were about 9, her mothers’ due date coincided with the camping dates. So, sensibly, the decision had been made that Y/n and her brother would just be looked after by the Hollands - whilst her mum and dad were safely tucked up in bed at home, awaiting the arrival of her littlest brother.
Y/n, her brother Alex, and Tom were all sharing a tent, and it must’ve been at least midnight that Tom was awoken by shuffling and zipping up of the tent. He’d realised she was gone through sleepy eyes and, without a second thought, went to go find her. Sure enough, she wasn’t far away, not even 50 metres from the tent, crouched on the grass. Immediately Tom’s presence had been noticed, making Y/m quickly snivel and wipe her face.
“Are you upset?”
“Go away Tom.” The comment didn’t do a lot, though; instead, 9-year-old Tom had planted himself down next to her - his pyjamas getting wet on the moist grass floor.
“Are you missing Auntie Sarah and Uncle Mike?” In the same way that Y/n called Nikki and Dom auntie and uncle, the Holland boys mirrored the nicknames for her parents. Y/n replied with a long sigh before hiccuping, failing to control the stream of tears. Yes, he was right - this was her first night away from her parents- but she wasn't about to spill her heart out to the 'stupid boy' who had stolen one of her marshmallows that evening. Tom’s little brown eyes swelled, looking slightly terrified and out of his depth, whilst with all his 9 years of wisdom, trying to come up with an answer.
“Do you want to play football to forget about it?”
Unsurprisingly Y/n shook her head violently. Tom cursed inwardly at himself for saying the wrong thing, apparently football wasn't the answer to everything. The two children went back to silence until Tom had the metaphorical light bulb moment. “My mum told me something for when I got to sleepovers? Look!” He grabbed Y/n’s little hand, extending it upwards towards the night sky.
“No matter where you are, you’re all looking at the same stars too, right?”
Tom jumped a little before looking over his shoulder and recognising Y/n with the softest smile that grew across his face. Y/n slowly walked to his side, arms crossed over her chest to try and keep the cold at bay, joining Tom in staring up at the starry expanse.
“How do you always know?” Tom spoke in a breathy chuckle, shaking his head slightly. It was true, she did always know - but his question was somewhat irrelevant. They'd spent most their childhood together, they were as easy to read as a children’s book to each other.
“Missing home?”
“Sort of, I got my own slice of home with the boys and-and you but… pads, mum dad yeh, feel like on your birthday your always supposed to see your family.”
Although Harry, Harrison, Sam and Y/n had managed to fly out to surprise Tom on his birthday- prior commitments meant his parents and youngest brother hadn’t been able to make it. They four arrived yesterday, greeted by a very shocked and pretty emotional Tom - who had clearly been missing the sense of home somewhat. He’d been away shooting a film, then straight away launching into press for the next spiderman movie. It had been a long while since he’d been in London - half a year in fact.
This time too, he’d been away without a single family member or friend - that was another truth he’d learnt about growing up. Your friends and family, they all get lives of their own. Tom used to be a trailblazer, the first to get a job, the one everyone was super proud of. They still were, of course, but didn’t dote on him in quite the same way - everyone had their own shit to deal with. It was yet another reason Tom wasn’t welcoming his birthday as much as he usually would.
“Your parents did always spoil you rotten.”
“They spoilt you worst and you’re not technically their kid.” Y/n rolled her eyes, even if it might slightly true - muttering a ‘touche’ at the brown-haired boy next to her. Their families had always been close; naturally the adults seemed to gravitate more to the kids that weren’t their own. The ones who you could ‘give back’ at the end of the day. It just so happened Nikki and Dom had always loved having Y/n around, maybe a bit more than anyone else.
“Have you had a good birthday then? You should be in there with Greg pouring that shitty vodka down your throat.” Y/n questioned, whilst shrugging back toward the house, the dull thump of Jacob's playlist just audible. Still, both stared upwards, standing close enough that their upper arms were both pressed up against each other. She expected a jovial answer, but even from his tone, it was evident there was something up. He sounded…weary?
“I’m bloody glad you all came...don’t get me wrong, I love Z and Jacob and everyone but….”
“Shitty week?”
“Shitty birthday week of promo and press.” Tom scathed, and Y/n nodded. Even if she couldn’t understand what was so bad about press, she knew that Tom hated it passionately. And in the same way, he loved all his castmates dearly, but they hadn’t known him his whole life. They didn’t understand why he did every little thing; their values lay just that bit apart. It just wasn’t the same as being surrounded with his family - you and Harrison adopted Hollands too.
“I just feel like I’ve spent all week trapped in a room answering the most stupid, irrelevant and inconsequential questions... Everything’s just so surface level and fake and, and I-“He cut himself off, for the first time meeting Y/n’s eyes. In all honesty, Tom got a bit caught up in the stars reflecting off her piercing y/e/c eyes before changing tack.
“Will you do me a favour?”
This wasn’t spoken with the normal Tom tone. It wasn’t joking or jovial; it wasn’t an ‘off the tongue’ thing. This was spoken with such seriousness and gravitas coming from his deep voice that Y/n replied equally truthfully.
“Always T, you know that.”
“Will you please ask me a personal and serious and deep question?”
She got where he was coming from too.
Clearly, even though the evening was supposed to be a light piss up in celebration, it had instead unearthed some darker thoughts that Tom had been harbouring away. Perhaps he never even realised he needed such seriousness, or perhaps with his castmates he hadn’t felt comfortable exposing himself like that. Either way, Y/n was going to respect him now. It was technically his birthday, too; the clocks had already struck 12 - it was now his day.
It wasn’t tricky to think of one; she’d often wondered the same question of him - never with the opportunity to ask. The question popped into her head again, almost as soon as Tom asked for one.
“Okay…. What’s your deepest regret that makes you feel guilty for feeling because in the grand scheme of things, it minor? Like such a 'first world problem'." What do you regret that’s just completely selfish?”
Tom immediately stiffened, his jaw tensing as he worked through his thoughts in his head. Scared she’d pushed it too far, Y/n averted her gaze back to the sky, chewing her bottom lip slightly. It took a moment, but then she saw Tom turn towards her, in the peripheries of her vision. With a tightly closed-lip smirk on his face he joked “If your gonna ask questions like that, we better sit down.”
And so they did, both sitting crossed legged on the ground, knees brushing against each other. Just on the grass lawn, almost mirroring themselves all those years ago as kids in that camping site. Y/n wondered if she should offer to play football instead - to cheer him up.
“Missing out. I miss out months at a time. Miss out on seeing mum and dad, miss out on the pub quizzes with the boys, miss out seeing you… I mean, I didn’t even know you had a new job until you mentioned it this morning. I miss out on time with nana Tess and all my grandparents, and that’s scary cos… well, every time I go, it could be the last time… I don’t know, I just… I get so much, get to travel, to see the world, but… sometimes it feels like I’m sacrificing the foundations. And without the foundations….”
“The walls come crumbling down.” Y/n finished off his sentence quietly, barely whispering the words - but from Tom’s nod of agreement, it seemed like she’d hit the nail on the head. There was silence for a beat till Y/n whispered to him.
“Well, happy birthday to you” Trying to bring the mood up a little, she bumped his shoulder, and Tom chuckled breathily.
“Seriously! This is helping me out. I-I just need to get everything out and start my 25th year fresh.”
“Hey, if that’s all you want, I’m getting a refund on my present- we can just get deep and interview each other.”
“I’m game, except I’m keeping the present too.”
“Just because it’s your birthday and I’m a bit tipsy, I’ll allow it.”
“Okay, well then, Y/n L/n”, He spoke formally, leaning in closer and making her giggle a little. “What’s your biggest regret?”
“Honestly?” Tom just repeated her in reply, but this time it was a statement.
"Honestly."
He really was going deep too. No holding back now. Y/n sucked on her cheek before replying. “Not travelling with you when we were 19… I was just so determined to get to uni and start grown-up life, but… well, grown-up life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I should’ve tried to stay a kid longer, messing about on your film sets and pretending it was work. I think I would’ve learnt more from seeing the world with you.”
“Well, I am very knowledgable.”
“Shut up, you drop out- who didn't know what a drag race was.” She wasn’t wrong, and whilst yes, he had dropped out to be a film star - he was still a dropout. (with exceptionally poor knowledge of RuPaul) He scowled, then leaning back on his hands, so he was half reclined on the grass as Y/n thought of her next question.
“Whats your biggest worry?”
“Easy.” He chuffed, making Y/n furrow her brows at him. Clearly, he’d already thought of this. “That I finally settle down with the love of my life, and then the fans or press or paps ruin it.”
It made sense; every time Tom had gone public with a relationship, it had ended in a minor car crash. Typically it was also the girl who got hurt; she was the ‘victim’ in everything. Though Y/n had seen first hand the effect it had had on Tom - he never made it out damage-free.
“You make it sound like you’ve already got this dream girl queued and waiting.”
“I wish”, Tom sighed, as Y/n took the opportunity to completely lie down on the grass, staring up at the dark abyss. She’d always loved the stars and had become a bit of a geek on them as they’d grown up too- and maybe it was all down to Tom on that camping trip. Following suit, Tom copied her, his head resting on his hands that were crossed behind his head, taking in the moment of pure peace as they lay on the grass.
“You see that bright one there?” Pointing up, Y/n shimmied closer to him so that he definitely saw the same thing as her. “It’s actually not one. Look closer.” Humming, Tom shifted a bit closer, so her shoulder slotted under the side of his body just the teeniest bit. It meant he could follow her direction and squinted up at the little patch of the sky.
“ 5…maybe 6? What is it?”
“The pliedes supercluster…. basically a big group of stars that all were born from the same place- the same stellar nursery.”
“But they’re moving now?” She hummed in confirmation to his question, briefly glancing at the way his eyes were fixed on the sky. For the first time he seemed genuinely interested in hearing her stories of the stars. It usually was an eye roll and ‘you’re so lame’.
“They’re called the sibling stars… like everything in life, as they get older they drift apart but…. but to us down here? They’ll always be associated together because they have a gravitational effect on each other. They’ll always have their thing tying them together. Like an invisible string.”
“Sounds like you’re being metaphorical.” Tom chuckled, expecting a taunt back but receiving nothing except a gentle agreement.
“Theres also actually 7. The last one people can only sometimes see… it’s a pulsing star, so comes and goes.”
“They do that?”
“Yeh, and no matter what… if you can see it or not, it’s always there. Always having an impact on its family.”
Biting his lower lip slightly, Tom repositioned his head slightly, Y/n’s words taking time to be fully absorbed. He was sure she was making parallels to him. Barely there, appearing and disappearing, but always a part of the family.
“You are being metaphorical.”
“Maybe.” She whispered shortly. “Metaphors depend on who’s listening and if they draw parallels to their own life. It’s subjective. You can’t tell anyone what is and isn’t metaphor…. it takes the beauty out of it.”
“Right, sure... But if you were…. me, harry, Sam, pads, you, Haz, Tuwaine? That the 7?” Y/n held back the little smile at his words. Tom wasn’t as ‘head in the clouds’ as she was- he was literal. Also, he was bloody stubborn when he wanted to be.
“I wasn’t being metaphorical T.” He knew she was lying. She knew that he knew. But it still helped him, made him feel a bit better. That he was always, in some way, having some effect... lives always intertwined with the people he cared about the most.
“Tell me another story about another star.”
Time for the rest of the night kind of got lost. The two young adults just lay on the grass, entirely in their own little world, using each others body heat to keep themselves warm through the early hours. Neither felt remotely tired, Y/n whispering her little stories of both the myths and science of the old stars, pointing out each planet. Meanwhile, Tom listened in awe, for once not taking the mick out of her incredibly geeky hobby. Instead, he found himself getting fascinated by all the little intricacies Y/n was so passionate about.
It was only when the stars began to fade, as orangey-red hue started to seep up from the horizon the either noticed the time. It was now the morning of the next day, the house long since had turned silent behind them - presumably, everyone finally passing out shit faced.
As the stars’ light was overtaken by the rising sun, Y/n ran out of stories; the two settled into silence - neither quite ready to go to bed yet.
“It’s still my turn,” Tom spoke into the sky before pivoting his head to look Y/n in the eye, seeing the confusion in her furrowed brows. “It’s my question to ask. My turn.”
“Aren’t you sick of my voice yet?” There was absolutely no reason that they were both whispering. It wasn’t like anyone was trying to listen or that they’d disturb anyone else my talking normally. But it was nicer that way. It felt calming... intimate even.
“One more. And then you get one more… and then we really should probably go to bed.” He didn’t want the night to end; he was immensely enjoying this weird grey time between being 25 and 26. But it was cold, Tom could tell Y/n had started to feel it a little more. To be fair, she was only in a floral day dress, not much in the way of warmth. With a hum of agreement, Y/n smiled lightly at him, urging his question.
“Whats the biggest secret you’ve kept from me?”
With a bit of a scoff, Y/n sighed and closed her eyes, trying to draw some strength she wasn’t sure she had. It wasn’t like she needed to wrack her brains to come up with it - she knew instantly. Almost painfully too.
“Uhm, honestly?” Now even more intrigued, Tom nodded, using his foot for nudge hers - encouraging her to speak. “Probably how much you mean to me.”
“Oh” He couldn’t help it; the sound just slipped out his mouth without checking with his brain first. That answer had just been so unexpected. He had honestly been thinking that it would be something about how ‘fame had changed him’. After hearing that, Y/n turned her head up the sky again, feeling like her cheeks were on fire with embarrassed heat. Tom knew he had fucked up.
“No, I… I didn’t mean- just just ask me too.” With a sigh, Y/n waved off his stumbled answer as he tried to cover himself.
“This is stup-“
“Ask me!” For the first time in 5 hours, Tom spoke at an normal volume - but it felt painfully loud, like a shout.
“What’s the biggest secret you kept from me?” Her tone was defeated, but nevertheless, he answered.
“How upset I was when you didn’t come when we were 19. I got why, but it was still annoying. Felt like you were picking uni friends over me-“ At this point on any other evening, Y/n would have interjected and argued. None of this situation was normal, though, so she chose to hear him out. “- I know it’s stupid, but…. I guess that’s how much you meant an-and still mean to me too.”
There was silence for a couple minutes, waiting whilst the sun started to peep over the horizon, the lone witness to an otherwise very private conversation. That was until Y/n barely spoke, more like mouthed 2 simple words.
“I lied.” The intensity of the way Tom stared at her made Y/n wish that the sun hadn’t been so bright, that they were back in the darkness that hid her face more. “Biggest lie I’ve told you … that I’m not in love with you.”
Y/n didn’t see because she couldn’t face looking at him, but Tom’s face erupted into the most prominent, toothiest smile. Whilst Tom was enjoying the moment of being absolutely ecstatic, Y/n was waiting for a response- feeling her world come crashing in. That she'd just destroyed one of the most important friendships in her life too.
But then he said the opposite of what she thought he would.
“I lied too.”
That had her attention, whipping her head toward him as Tom rolled onto his side on the lawn, balancing with his head resting on one hand. “I lied that I’ve not been completely under your spell since we were kids at that campsite, and you were homesick.”
Y/n’s heart was literally in her mouth, brain overwhelmed but one overriding thought oh so bloody clear.
She’d lost control of everything, arching up to mirror Tom. Using one hand, she reached out to cup Tom’s jaw, to which he instinctively leant toward - until their lips were mere centimetres apart, hot breath fanning over each other.
Y/n no control as she whispered those 3 words against his lips. No control at how immediately after he pressed his to hers; no control as Tom guided her to roll on top of him, knees either side of his torso as his strong arms wrapped around her back.
Once again, time was lost between the two, only pulling apart when their lungs burned for oxygen.
“For the record, I love you too.” Grinning from ear to ear, Tom used one hand to gently stroke his thumb across her cheek, switching his focus from her left to right eye - in wonder at how the early morning sun reflected from her y/e/c irises. He’d always thought she was beyond beautiful, but when she was this close to him, with the sun rising behind her in such a way - she looked damn ethereal.
“Happy birthday T.” Nodding in agreement, Tom chuckled before finding her lips once again, whispering against them.
“Yeh, happy damn birthday to me.”

“I wanna taste you again. Like a secret or a sin.”
  - Matthew Perryman Jones
When Gianna stirred awake, she wasn’t surprised to find Harry laying beside her. What she was surprised about though was the absolute softness of his face.
The lines of his cheekbone and jaw were still sharp, but his skin was completely smooth. The usual indent between his brows was nonexistent, and his hair was a beautiful curly mess. She found herself reaching out to smooth some stray curls back behind his ear, her fingertips just barely brushing his soft skin.
He didn’t disappoint once he got her in his bed. Turns out his smug, cocky demeanor could be backed up, and backed up well. He wasn’t short on foreplay, he didn’t rush into it. If anything, he drew out the string of anticipation so ridiculously thin it snapped; until they were all hands and mouths and moans and pleasure.
It was good. It was fun. It was a much needed distraction.
But it looked different in the daylight.
What was passionate gasps and needy hands in the dimmed moonlight, was just a sloppy rebound fuck with a friend in the early morning daylight.
Gianna was careful to slip out of bed, nakedly grabbing her borrowed sweater from the floor before tiptoeing to his bathroom. And when she returned, she was met with green eyes and tousled hair.
“Thought you left.” His voice was even deeper than usual, the early morning rasp doing nothing to quell Gianna’s increasingly warming skin. “Didn’t think you were a hit and run kinda person.”
Gianna breathed a soft laugh as she made her way over to him in just her sweater.
“No, but I should probably get my ass on the couch before your sister wakes up.”
“Y’know she sleeps like the dead.” He watched her as he fiddled with the corner of his duvet, eyes tracing the curve of her hip where the sweater ended against her caramel skin. “Could give you one more before you go.”
The lightness of his eyes looked iridescent in the morning light, especially in comparison to the blown out brown of Gianna’s staring back at him.
He sat up just then, the dark emerald sheet slipping down his chest to rest casually across his bare hips. He was a sight with his unruly hair falling over his collar bones and his toned chest and stomach on full display.
“In fact,” he started as he scooted down the bed until he was right in front of her, his feet meeting the ground as he pulled her closer between his thighs, “was thinking we could do this whenever you want.”
Gianna’s hands found his bare shoulders, his skin still incredibly warm from sleep and as soft as it looked.
“Is this my sweater?” Harry asked suddenly as he looked down to where he played with the knitted fabric at her hips, his hands slowly splaying out on Gianna’s bare thighs.
“Gemma gave it to me last night,” she responded softly.
“Hm. Anyway… could be a perfect fit for both of us,” Harry murmured, his head tilted up towards Gianna’s, his lips inches from hers. The innuendo was embedded in his tone and the look on his face, and even more blatantly obvious when the most subtle indent of a dimple teased its way onto his cheek.
It would be too easy for Gianna to take him up on the offer, crawl back into bed with him and let him bring her over the edge as many times as he wanted; as many times as she wanted. But for as sexy and generous as he’d been, she knew it wasn’t the best idea and something she shouldn’t get used to.
Gianna sighed with a gentle squeeze to his shoulder blade. “H…”
“G,” Harry rebutted in a playful tone.
“Probably not a good idea.”
“I beg to differ. Think it’s a great idea. My best idea yet.”
“Last night was fun,” Gianna offered gently. “I just don’t think we should make a habit out of it. I have a lot going on and I don’t want to drag you—”
“—Hey, say no more.”
If Harry’s ego was bruised from the rejection, he didn’t show it.
Instead, he pushed himself up from the bed as she took a step back, the sheet knowingly falling away from his body as he stood before her at his full height. They were nearly chest to chest, and it took everything inside Gianna to ignore the way her nipples pebbled beneath the soft fabric of her sweater.
“The offer’s available if you ever want it.”  His lips curled around every word, only making his offer even more overwhelmingly enticing.
He didn’t wait for a response. Instead, his chest brushed against her arm as he carelessly moved around her to head to the bathroom, completely naked, every inch of his body on display.
If he felt Gianna’s eyes on him, he didn’t show it.
Tumblr media
A fresh steam of her reworn silk skirt and sheer button down blouse later, and the party was in full swing, guests arriving one after another to her parents home.
Gianna was lucky to have arrived when she did, the distraction of guests doing her every favor to hold off the inevitable questions from her family. A quick comment that Steve was held up at work was as far into it as she could get before her mother was whisked away by one thing or another. Gianna wasn’t so worried about the lie as she was her delivery of said lie.
The end of her relationship was the last thing she felt like discussing at her fathers 50th birthday celebration.
The one thing she didn’t anticipate was the possibility of Steve showing up.
She saw him as soon as he walked through the front door, his polo shirt and perfectly styled hair immediately catching her eye.  His eyes scanned the room in search of her, and it felt like her heart could literally drop out of her ass.
Gianna excused herself from her fathers colleagues before making her way toward him, her blood boiling as her heart pounded in her chest.
“What are you doing here?” She whispered harshly as she pulled him aside, eyes ablaze as she looked at him.
“You haven’t been answering your phone.”  His response was so casual for someone who blew up their life together without a second thought.
“Yeah you lost that privilege yesterday, Steve.”
“Gianna, please. Let’s just talk about this.”
“You need to leave.”
“Gianna—”
“Y’alright?”  Gianna turned to look up at the sound of the intruder's voice, her eyes meeting Harry’s expressionless face immediately.
Gianna was quick to reel in her emotions as well, instead smiling and greeting Harry and Gemma and their parents.
“Hi guys! Yeah, yeah, all good. Steve was just leaving,” Gianna continued to smile despite the confused look on Harry and Gemma’s parents faces. “He’s gotta work.”
Steve huffed. “You’re being ridiculous.”
“Let’s go find Lisa!” Gemma suggested to her parents with a gentle guide on both of their backs.
“Oh, she’s in the kitchen.” Gianna pointed in the direction of her mother and released a sigh when they headed that way.
Gianna turned back to Steve the moment they were out of earshot. “You’re a real asshole, you know that?”
Steve opened his mouth to reply, but Harry was quick to interject. “Think she told you to go.”
Gianna watched the anger wash over Steve’s face as he turned to Harry.
“Shouldn’t take me telling you for you to listen,” Harry added with a disapproving shake of his head.
That confidence Harry exuded? Yeah, it came in handy in a wide array of situations.
“Don’t make me kick you out of here,” Gianna told Steve. “I don’t want to cause a scene and embarrass my mum but I will if I have to.”
Harry took the most subtle step closer. He really only sort of shifted his weight towards Gianna more, barely enough to even notice, but judging by Steve’s disgruntled face, he noticed.
Gianna noticed too.
“We’re going to talk about this later.”  Just the sound of Steve’s voice made Gianna’s heart plummet. It wasn’t supposed to be like this, but it was.
She watched him turn around with an exasperated huff, a withheld breath escaping her when he disappeared through the front door.
“Y’okay?”
Gianna momentarily forgot Harry was still standing beside her.  “Yeah,” she nodded. “Gonna go hide for a bit and collect myself.”
She didn’t wait for his response before she disappeared upstairs with tears welling in her eyes.
Who did Steve think he was?  Just showing up at her parents home as if nothing happened? Something did happen. A lot of shit happened.  Many words were exchanged and the way Gianna left their home and didn’t look back said even more then her frustrated, broken words.
Gianna didn’t know how long she hid in her childhood bathroom, but apparently it was long enough for someone to come looking for her when she heard the softest tap on the door.
She wasn’t crying, that was a plus. So she braced herself for her mother to be undoubtedly on the other side of the door, but opened it slowly to find none other than Harry leaned up against the doorframe, his face closer than she would have expected.
His chin was pointed down towards his chest, leaving him to look up at her through his lashes with his eyebrows raised high and the lines across his forehead even more prominent.
“Just checking on you. Y’don’t have to come out yet if you don’t wanna.”
Gianna leaned against the wall so that she was standing parallel to him, her body lining up perfectly with his, both of their arms crossed over their chests, the door to the bathroom propped open just enough for them to see each other.
“Is my mum looking for me?”
He pursed his lips with regret. “I did hear her say your name a little bit ago.”
Gianna released a deep sigh as she let her eyes fall closed. “I can’t believe he just showed up here.”
“Do you know what he wanted?”
Gianna scoffed. “No clue, probably to torture me some more. As if yesterday wasn’t enough.”
“He’s got some nerve,” Harry shook his head in disbelief.
Gianna exhaled again. “I don’t even wanna be here and now I gotta go put a show on for everyone and pretend like everything’s fine.”
Harry gave her a small, understanding smile. “Want me to go fall down the stairs as a distraction?”
The tiniest shiver rolled down his spine when she smiled with a shake of her head.
“I’ll just dive head first. They’ll be so distracted with my broken collar bone that you can sneak out the back,” he added with a completely straight face, intently fighting the twitch at the corner of his mouth.
Gianna laughed softly as she pushed her elbow against his. “What if you mess up your face? I’ll never forgive myself.”
“Oh yeah, you’re right. Never mind scratch that idea,” Harry replied quickly, the smile forming across his face regardless of his efforts.
Gianna’s face softened after a moment, and Harry couldn’t be positive, but he was pretty sure her body moved a half an inch closer to his.
“Thanks for stepping in with him,” she said sincerely, her big brown eyes steady on his.
Harry swallowed discreetly, licking his lips in a force of habit. “Anytime,” he murmured, his eyes flicking across her face.
“You didn’t have to,” Gianna replied mindlessly, her eyes falling across his face.
“Know I didn’t.” Harry’s voice was soft, because as much as he didn’t want to admit it, he felt like his skin was on fire.
She was so close. Her perfume invaded his senses the same way it did on the roof, it had seeped into his sheets and lingered on his skin that morning. It was all he could focus on, subconsciously pulling him closer to her.
Although, maybe not totally subconscious at all. He knew he wanted her. He knew that after one night with her, that he wanted her again, as many times as she’d give herself to him.
He could tell she wanted to kiss him. Fuck, he was willing her to just do it. It was like every fiber of his being was screaming for her to just connect their mouths, get lost in each other again. But he could tell she was having some sort of internal battle that held her back.
“What are you thinking?” he asked softly, eyes peering into hers.
She blinked back at him, the soft furrow of her brows somehow making her more attractive. He watched her mouth open and close, trying to find the words.
“Tell me,” he murmured.
He could feel her breath just barely brushing his lips as his eyes pulled down to the curve of her Cupid’s bow first, then the curve of her chest, before traveling the same path back again, ready to dive back into the deep brown of her eyes.
They were cast down, the curl of her lashes on display instead, and at first Harry assumed in shame or disinterest. But they burned against his own mouth, as she took account of every curve of his lips.
“G...” he tried once more, hoping that the movement of his lips spurred her on.
She was about to say something, Harry could see it on every inch of her face, but then there were footsteps entering the room and the sound of her name being called that Gianna snapped back, pulling away from him so quickly that it felt like the wind had been knocked out of him.
“Oh there you are,” Gemma said, relieved. “Your mum's going to go searching for you any minute, wanted to find you first.”
“Yeah, same,” Harry nodded as he tried to casually run a hand through the top of his hair and gently tuck a stray piece behind his ear. Only it didn’t feel casual at all, the only thing he felt was fidgety. “I’ll go distract her,” he added as he pushed his hands into the pockets of his black jeans and turned to leave.
The truth was, he felt like he couldn’t breath and he wasn’t even quite sure why. Gianna was hard to read, she was really good at bottling things up which left him completely unsure where he stood. She told him she wasn’t interested, and he understood why. Things could get complicated and that was the last thing she needed in her life at the moment. But then she looked at him like that, and her eyes - reluctant but burning into his skin - said something completely different.
He wasn’t going to push her, though.  She needed a friend and that was what he was going to be to her.  So he went to Lisa’s side and talked her ear off about a recent show he had watched on Discovery, and watched with a small smirk as Gianna’s mum pretended to be interested.
Luckily, the rest of the party went on as normal. And even more so, Gianna and Harry didn’t have a moment alone together until the goodbyes. There was the slightest bit of hesitancy when they went to leave a kiss on each other's cheeks, something they and their families always did when parting ways.
It was a blip of a moment really, but it was enough to have chills running across Gianna’s skin just from the barely there scruff of Harry’s cheek brushing hers. He gave a small, but reassuring smile when he pulled away, a soft squeeze of her arm just before he followed Gemma out the door.
Tumblr media
It was insane, but she couldn’t stop thinking about him the rest of the night. While she helped her parents clean up, while they talked her ear off about their upcoming travel plans, while she finally peeled herself away from them at nearly midnight, while she drove back to Gemma and Harry’s place, while she tiptoed inside and locked up behind her.
“Hey,” Gemma called from where she was curled up on the couch in front of the tv. “Rest of the night go okay?”
“Oh, yeah. The usual really.” Gianna sighed as she slipped her studded heels off, her limbs feeling heavy from the long day.
“I’ll be out of your bedroom in a mo, this is almost over,” Gemma said half heartedly, eyes still trained on the tv.
Gianna didn’t bother with a response, but instead wandered down the hallway to Gemma’s room to steal some clothes. She couldn’t help but glance at Harry’s bedroom door, the light peeking through the bottom like a temptation.
She wondered what he was doing in there as she changed, if he heard her come in, if he could sense her in the proximity somehow.  Her fingertips prickled with curiosity and her mind tiptoed along the ledge of “what if” and “maybe” and “why not”.
He offered.  All she had to do was accept.
When she stepped out of Gemma’s room with an oversized white tee shirt and minty fresh teeth, she immediately noticed that Harry’s light was no longer illuminating the edges of his door, the room seemingly pitch black.
Maybe that was a sign from the universe or something.  Maybe, she thought, she should just quit while she’s ahead.
Her makeshift bed was all ready for her in the living room, Gemma having neatly arranged blankets and pillows on the couch where she was previously sitting.  That was one thing about both of the Style’s siblings, they never made you feel unwelcome.
“Alright love, let me know if you need anything,” Gemma spoke as she placed her empty tea cup in the sink.
“Thanks, Gems. Seriously. Don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Gemma smiled warmly as she walked over, wrapping Gianna in a quick hug before heading for the hallway.
“Oh,” she turned around quickly, “Harry spoke to Steve after we left.”
Gianna’s heart stopped, bracing herself for whatever transpired between them.  “How bad was it?”
“Eh,” Gemma shrugged, chuckling lightly as she continued. “Harry yelled a lot, but he’ll be gone for a few hours tomorrow morning so you can go get your stuff. We’ll go with you to help.”
Gianna released a heavy sigh, overwhelmed with her friend's generosity. “You guys don’t have to do that.”
“Too bad because we are,” Gemma quickly replied. “Harry told Steve he was coming with you anyway, just in case he decides to try anything like what went on today. Plus, the more hands means the faster you can get out of there.”
Gianna gave her a pouty smile.
“Don’t look at me like that,” Gemma laughed. “You would do the same for me.”
“I would,” she agreed.
“Besides, Harry’s the one that made it happen. He just told me the plan before he went to bed.”  Gemma smoothed down the baby hairs sticking up at the front of Gianna’s hairline, a small, sympathetic smile on her face. “I love you, get some sleep.”
Gianna didn’t know what she did to deserve a friend like Gemma, but she was grateful every single day for whatever cosmic blip happened in the universe to force them together.
“Love you,” Gianna murmured as she watched Gemma head for her room, finding herself standing completely still as she watched her bedroom door close softly at the end of the hall.
And then she was left in silence with nothing but her thoughts. Which if anyone could hear inside her brain, they’d know they were anything but silent.
She went to plop down on the couch, letting out a long, deep sigh as she sunk into the cushions.
Harry didn’t need to put his neck out like that, but he did. His exact reasoning, Gianna wasn’t sure. But he appeared beside her at that party like it was second nature. He took it upon himself to find a way for her to safely get her things from her former home, and she was grateful. He was a good friend. She knew that already, but it was even more prominent now.
She thought starting something with Harry would be harder on her than not. She thought she didn’t need the added stress.  But he never showed any indication that he would make anything stressful for her. If anything, the only thing he showed was the opposite.
A distraction, an escape, a good time.
That was all she needed right now.  And in a way, that was exactly what Harry was offering.
So she pulled herself up from the couch with purpose, and padded down the hall to the door on the right with her heart beating wildly in her chest.  Her fingers brushed along the grain of wood, a last chance effort to back away with none the wiser.
But she didn’t want to.  As ridiculous as it seemed, Harry made her feel something that she desperately needed at the moment.
So she jumped.
It was the softest tap, her knuckle meeting the wood so lightly she was positive he wouldn’t even hear it.  Her breath was shaky as she did it again, this time the tiniest bit harder, more sure.
There was no sign of movement behind the door.  She waited with baited breath, tapping her knuckles a third time, squeezing her eyes closed, begging for Gemma not to hear.
But nothing.  No sound, no movement, no Harry.
Maybe he had snuck out at some point, while she was changing perhaps.  Or maybe he had decided she was right after all, that this - she - was too complicated for him right now.
She drew one last small pattern on the door, her temple pressed against the framing before she dropped her hand and pulled away.
And then in a moment of pure heart stopping relief, the door swung open and a large hand wrapped around her forearm, tugging her inside the dark room so quickly she felt lightheaded.
Her back was pressed up against the wall beside the door as Harry eased it closed quietly.  Gianna caught her breath, her chest rising and falling sharply as she took him in.  He was in nothing but boxer briefs sitting low on his hips, his hair pulled up in a bun, his skin reflecting against the light of the muted tv in the corner of his room.  His bed was unmade, the spot he was previously occupying obvious, what with blankets thrown to the one corner and pillows propped up against the center of the headboard.
Harry was looking at her expectantly when she turned her face back to him, but he didn’t say anything, eyes simply scanning the features of Gianna’s face.
“How’d you know it was me?” Gianna murmured softly.
“I didn’t.”  His tone was neutral, but his eyes were blazing, even in the darkness.
She couldn’t pull her eyes from him, and all she could think about was taking the half a step needed to be pressed against his soft skin.
“Hoped it was,” Harry added after a beat of silence, his eyes falling to her mouth. “Didn’t know, but hoped.”
The words barely made their way from his lips before Gianna was taking the small step to connect their mouths.  And it was as if  Harry was waiting for it, because his hand immediately cupped her jaw as he took his own step, her back pressing against the wall once more.
His lips were warm, and they tasted familiar this time. That thought surprised Gianna somehow - this wasn’t the first time, and although it was new, it was comforting in a way she wouldn’t be able to explain if she tried.
He kissed her with his entire body, every inch of him pressed tightly against her, pinning her to the wall.  His tongue teased her bottom lip, and without second thought, she met him with her own, sparks shooting across her skin in the form of goosebumps and anticipation.
The soft groan that escaped his throat as he pulled her even closer lit her on fire, his fingers digging harder into the soft curves of her hips.
“Fuck, I want you,” Harry sighed breathlessly, his lips trailing across Gianna’s jaw and down her neck.
She scratched her nails down his back, his body only pressing against hers more in response. “Want you too,” she whispered, like it was a confession, as if her actions hadn’t already exposed her.
His lips burned against her throat, sucking deliberate kisses to her sensitive skin as his hands smoothed up and down her sides, gripping here, pulling there. She could feel him, hard and needy against her pelvis, and it made her stomach twist with desire.
“This has to stay between us,” Gianna spoke gently up to the ceiling. “No one can know.”
“Good,” Harry stamped a kiss to her jaw, pulling her face to his by the back of her neck, his lips brushing hers with his words. “Can be our secret.”
And it was, he made sure of it.  No one would know what went on between them under the darkness of the night, hidden behind the walls of his room, disguised behind their eyes in the daylight.
It would just be theirs, whatever it was, for as long as Harry could help it.
But that’s the thing about secrets… they always find a way out.

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Welcome to the weekend!
Wow! Here we are again: Friday! Where did that week go? No, seriously, where did that week go?
Naturally, the highlight of my week was my birthday on Wednesday and, trust me, I will be celebrating my birthday all month! I have enough alcohol in here to sink a battleship, plus I have a couple of very nice dates in my diary!
The Mighty Josiah has returned from Brooklyn, so we will see him tonight and he will stay with us Friday and Saturday. I am his personal assistant, so I will be at his beck and call. You know how scrumptious he is, so I will attempt to hug and kiss him – attempt! – but he always screams and runs away.
My mother had her first experience of racial profiling this week. My daughter’s mother is black, so my daughter is mixed race, dual heritage, whatever you want to call her but, in a shop in Hove, she’s a black woman! My mum wrote, “Today, in Marks and Spencer, a security guard stopped your daughter and said she looked like a shoplifting suspect of theirs. At that minute, l appeared, all hell let loose and they were full of apologies. She was shocked, of course! It just makes me aware of how penalised black people are.” Yes, this week, Lady Wesker got a life lesson. You’re never too old to learn.
Mars has decided to trial a ‘No Bounty’ tub of Celebrations this Christmas, after its consumer research confirmed their status as the least popular sweet. The experiment comes after nearly 40% of those polled told the company the Bounty should be permanently axed from the Celebrations line up, where it struggles to compete with the star power of “all-time favourite” Maltesers. To be honest, 40% sounds like a pretty low number to be making such rash decisions. Personally, given half the chance, I would eat Bounty until it made me sick! I love it! I’m down at Sainsbury’s this morning, so I will be stocking up on Bounty bars for those lazy Christmas days! Celebrations can do one! It’s a rip-off anyway!
The ‘follows’ keep arriving at Scam HQ a.k.a. Instagram. Every day, so many follows from women with an ‘Only Fans’ page, people dealing in Cryptocurrency or just people with no profile pic. For every person I follow, I literally delete about 20 wanting me to follow them. El*n M*sk calculates that about 90% of our followers are bots! I suspect he might be right but that won’t be happening on my IG profile. Not me, mate!
Yesterday, I forgot to post a photo on IG of some of my wonderful Wednesday students, which I have done today. Some people are a bit funny about selfies. They worry about the way they look, or worry about people knowing their whereabouts, or just worry about being in selfies. For my money, when people pass away, I am so grateful for my selfies with me and them. Beautiful moments, never to be forgotten.
For those of you that follow me on Twitter, if I suddenly disappear, I will have gone to @TribelSocial. As Twitter is now allowing very extreme right-wing people back on their platform, I may back away? Let’s see what happens?
Very sad to hear about Noel McKoy passing away. ‘Family’ by McKoy was released in 1991 and we must have played it hundreds of times on Kiss FM! I think anybody listening to Kiss at that time will remember ‘Family’ as being a huge radio and party record. In 2014, Noel became part of The British Collective, an exceptional group of young men, who many of us have enjoyed in recent years. One of the most distinctive voices in UK soul music. He will be missed.
Matt Hancock is about to find out how much people hate him!
Be warned: someone has created a FAKE Lindsay Wesker profile and they may send you a friend request. Do not accept it!
Hope you can join me tomorrow at 1.00 p.m. for ‘The A-Z Of Mi-Soul Music’. The Letter J (Part Seven). Some of the tunes are a bit saucy! You have been warned!
Have a fabulous and funky Friday! I love you all. You’re probably thinking, “You don’t even know me!” but, if people can hate for no reason, why can’t I love?

General Stuff To Start With What name do you go by most often?
Jelle.
Is that your real name or a nickname?
A nickname. My real name is Joeri.

Yeah, it has.

What did you do last Sunday?
I was sick and in bed, I guess.
How many orange shirts do you own?
None. Surprisingly, my inner Dutchie doesn’t approve.
Are you currently taking any prescription medications?
Yeah, Keppra for epilepsy.
Do you like skim milk?
I hate it. It tastes like water, so why bother if you can use water instead?
How did you bring in the New Year?
In the hospital.
Are you missing anyone right now?
Yeah, those two guys I like. We’ll see who’s there today so maybe I can see one of them. The other one I’m not gonna see anymore :(

Yesterday, I’ve visited one of my friends in the hospital.

Is 21 any special age or something? Not in Europe, and certainly not in Belgium. Anyways, just onre person. We’re both over 21.
Who do you wish you could talk to right this moment?
I think there is someone like that, I’d love to see him. Also I would like to talk to Nielsje because he’s very understanding and caring and always willing to listen, but I don’t want to pour all my worries over him, he’s too sweet for that. Talking to him helps, but he’s a person, too.
How many clocks are in the room you are in?
Two, I think. Neither of them works.
Do you use MSN messenger?
No, never did.
What time will it be in 6 hours?

My husband, every day.

I don’t. I like a few songs, but do I actively enjoy the genre? Not at all.
Have you ever been told you looked like someone famous?
Yeah, sadly not the person I wanted to be compared to.
Are you anemic?
Quite so, but not severely.
At Christmas, do you have a fake or a real tree?
Fake, we have a tiny one and it’s enough.
Do you usually go watch fireworks on the 4th of July?

Do you remember when the game Oregon Trail was really popular?
Pretty sure there wasn’t such a thing in Europe.
Does anyone have your heart?
Yeah. We’re married.

My native language is Dutch, go figure. We learn French and English in schools. My mum is half-German, so. I have Romanian friends. Yeah, I can count to more than 20 in more than one language.

I don’t remember minor things, but I remember the bigger thing from months ago, in front of the guy I liked.
Would you rather meet the president or win $500 dollars from the lottery?
Who cares aboput the president if you live in a kingdom? Who cares about dollars when you live in the euro zone?

I’ve seen three handsome guys at rehabilitation today. I couldn’t resist smiling.

Another school year down, you couldn’t believe it. Two entire years done, and only more until it’s your turn to walk across the stage. Now that it was getting nicer out, your new favorite to work was the back deck, especially when Harry would come out and bring you a glass of wine. It wasn’t lost on you how much he doted on you. If you got cold, he was right there with a blanket and your fuzzy socks, if you were hungry he was right there with a snack. There was plenty you did for him, or that you did equally, like laundry and cooking and cleaning, but it was hard not to notice the way her almost…babies you.
Now, most of the time, men were the ones that liked to be babied in relationships, and that’s not to say that Harry doesn’t. He loves when he gets to lay his head on your chest and you play with his hair, or when you scrub his head in the shower, or the mornings you get up before him and lay his clothes out for him. You both took care of each other in different ways, which was nice, but he was used to taking care of someone in a parental way.
Harry was extremely different at work, though. He didn’t want to give students or colleagues a reason to tease either of you, so despite his clingy nature, he wouldn’t be too kissy or huggy with you. He was thankful that the school year was over so he could love on you all he wanted.
He had his own work as well, he had his latest manuscript. He would try to work when you were working, but sometimes he got writer’s block, or inspiration would hit at an odd hour. You loved watching him work, and if it was the middle of the night with him working away, you’d crawl into his lap and tell him it was time for bed. To which he happily listened.
It was weird being home while Andy was still in school, but it left you with plenty of time to plan his party. This year his party would be at your house since it was at Paige’s last year. You wanted to make sure there were tons of yard games for all the kids to play, and also things for the adults to do. You and Andy started crafting a playlist together that Harry was not allowed to help with because “no one my age wants to listen to Fleetwood, get over it!” was an argument you were sick of listening to, plus it was nice to have something to do together.
“Okay, we’ve got horseshoes, badminton, water balloons, and corn-hole, that should plenty of things for people to do back here.” You say as you look around the yard. Andy and Harry were just getting the badminton net into place.
“We also have a volleyball in case they wanna play that instead.” Harry says. “And we’ve got all the snacks in the world to keep everyone happy until I get to grilling.”
“So is this less of a family party?” You ask him.
“Little bit, I mean, Lydia, Allie and Ned will be here, but that’s it for Paige’s side. There’s more friends coming this year, that’s for sure.”
“I’m getting the Bluetooth going so there’s music when people start to show up.” Andy says. “I’m really excited, Caroline’s sisters are coming, and they’re really nice.”
“Is her oldest still coming to the university in the fall?” You ask.
“Yup.” He smiles.
Andy and Caroline had remained…close oddly enough. Brandon was still with Molly, and Andy couldn’t quite figure out why. Although, it was giving him more time to sort out all of his feelings. He really didn’t want to be in a relationship just yet. He just wanted to have fun with his friends.
“I hope they’re not bored here.” Harry runs a hand through his hair.
“The corn-hole should keep them occupied, babe, don’t worry.”
“What are their names again?” Harry asks.
“Emma is the oldest, then Sophie and Charlotte.”
“Right, the twins.”
“I’m gonna go put the sign on the door to let people know they can just come to the back.” You say.
“I’ll tie the balloons to the mailbox!” Andy says and Harry sighs as he watches him go inside.
“What’s wrong?” You ask Harry as you walk up the stairs to the deck.
“Nothing…he’s just…twelve.” He pouts at you and you pout back.
“Please don’t cry.”
“I’m not.” He huffs. “He’s getting too old, I’m over this whole growing up thing.”
“But look at what a nice young man he’s growing into!” You put your hand on his shoulder. “Try to celebrate instead of dwell.”
“What are we, at a funeral?” He smirks.
You roll your eyes at him and go inside. The house was spick and span, thank god. This summer you’d be tackling renovating the kitchen since Andy would be at Paige’s. You were excited to do this with Harry. The new cabinets and granite were all ordered. You both just needed to do all the demo yourselves and then the contractors could come to do the rest.
“Mum and Noah are here!” Andy yells from outside, and you and Harry go out front to greet them.
“I…I promised myself I wouldn’t cry, but look at you, you’re twelve!” Paige blubbers and throws her arms around Andy.
“Mum, please.” He groans as he hugs her back.
“None of your friends are here yet, I get to do this now.” She kisses his cheek and lets him go. “Gram will be here soon with your aunt and uncle.”
“Happy birthday, Andy!” Rachel says brightly as she hops out of the car, giving him a hug.
All it took was for Paige and Harry to make eye contact and they both burst into tears. They side hug each other as they both look at Andy.
“He’s so grown up, and I swear he’s getting taller by the minute.” She says.
“It’s not fair, he was a baby just yesterday.”
“You two need to get a grip.” Andy says.
“Yeah.” Rachel agrees. “I’m getting second-hand embarrassment.”
The two giggle and start walking around back. You and Noah stand there awkwardly as Paige and Harry let each other go.
“Right, well, we, uh, brought some extra snacks, and all the gifts are in the trunk.” Noah says.
“I can help bring all that in.” You say. “What do you all typically do for Rachel’s birthdays?” You ask him as you lead him inside.
“Well, we usually go to Florida to visit with her grandparents. She loves it. Sort of a daddy-daughter thing.”
“Oh, that’s so nice!”
“Yeah, her birthday’s in October, so the weather is usually perfect.”
Friends and other family members start to show up. Andy was such a social butterfly. You could really tell that he was popular amongst his friend group. He was making everyone laugh. All of the yard games were a big hit, and Caroline’s older sisters even seemed to be having a good time. You were up on the deck sipping a drink when Harry came up from behind you to hug you.
“Having a good time, darling?” He says to you.
“Yes, thank you.” You chuckle. “Are you?”
“Mhm, I’m really glad the weather stayed so nice, I was nervous it would rain.” He kisses your cheek. “I’m gonna get the grill fired up.”
“Alright, do you want some help?”
“Maybe if you could just help me organize the food out here on the table? We could set it up buffet style.”
“On it.” You head inside as Harry turns the grill on.
Harry was feeling a lot of things today, his son was officially a preteen, and all sorts of things could start changing for him this summer. He could start to see pimples, or his voice may start getting lower, or pretty much anything else. Then there was you. Harry usually had to recruit another parent to help him with his parties for Andy, but he didn’t have to do that this time because he had you. You were on top of everything, and he was grateful. He was also just proud to show you off to so many people. For years everyone saw him as this single dad, but now they got to see him in a fully functioning relationship with a wonderful person.
“Okay, here’s all the burgers and dogs.”
“Y/N!” You whip your head and see your parents, Phil, and Julian.
“Oh good!” You say and head down the stairs of the deck to go greet them. “Did you get stuck in traffic?” You ask as you hug your family.
“Just a tad.” Phil says. “There was an accident on the other side, and you know how people love to rubber-neck.”
“Well, you’re here now, that’s all that matters. Feel free to go inside and freshen up, Harry’s just getting the grill started, but there are other snacks, and there’s drinks in the coolers.”
As you were talking Noah and Paige were playing a game of corn-hole with Ned and Allie.
“Oh, who’s that?” Noah points over to you.
“That must be her parents and brother, and his partner. How nice for them all to come!”
“Just don’t pounce on them Paige.” Allie tells her.
“What are you talking about? I’ll be friendly…”
“I’m not saying you won’t, just let her bring them over to introduce you, don’t go over to them first.”
You lead your family inside, after they all say hello to Harry. You wanted to give them a tour of the place you now called home. You explain your plans for the kitchen, and they all nod along.
“It’s a lovely home, honey.” Your mom says. “Very spacious, plenty of room to grow.”
“Yeah! The basement couch has a pull out in case we need to turn the guest room into a nursery at some point, and the loft could easily be converted into a bedroom too.”
“Slow down there, you just moved in.” You dad chuckles.
“I’m just saying, we’ve thought ahead.”
You lead everyone back outside, and down the stairs. Andy notices your family and smiles, he had no idea they were coming. He runs over to you.
“Andy, look who’s here.” You say to him.
“Hi!” He gives everyone a hug. “Thanks for coming to my party.”
“We wouldn’t miss it!” Your mom says. “You’re twelve today?”
“Yeah.” He smiles. “Would you like to meet my friends?”
“Sure.” Phil says.
Andy waves over Brandon and Caroline, and they both come jogging over.
“You guys, these are Y/N’s parents, um…”
“Rebecca and Richard.” Your dad says with a smile.
“Right, and this is her big brother Phil and his Julian.”
Phil and Julian smile at each other and say hello.
“These are my two best friends, Brandon and Caroline.”
Brandon felt bile in the back of his throat. Since when did Andy consider Caroline to be his other best friend?
“Hey, Andy, your friend Tyler…” Rachel had come over but she trails off.
“Rachel, these are my parents and my brothers.” You tell her.
“Hello!” She smiles brightly. “I’m Andy’s step-sister.”
“Well aren’t you just a precious little thing!” Your mom says.
“You’re Jewish like me, right?”
“Why yes we are.” Your dad says.
“When we went on our ski trip together, Y/N sat with me and helped with my alefbet.”
“She was pretty good at reading from the Torah as a kid.” Phil says. “I wasn’t so lucky.”
“You just never studied.” You tease him.
“Not all of us can be book worms, Y/N.” He sighs.
“My mum’s over there…” Andy points. “Do you all want to meet her?”
“That would be great.” Your dad says. You look back at Harry who was talking with Mr. Stewart as he grilled, and then you look over towards Paige.
“Yeah, let’s have everyone meet.” You say and lead them over. “Paige? I hate to interrupt the game…”
“Not at all!” She says with a smile. “Hello.” She says towards your family.
“These are my parents, Rebecca and Richard, my brother Phil, and his partner Julian.”
“It’s so nice to meet you all, I’m Andy’s mother, this is my fiancé, Noah, and my sister Allie and her husband Ned.”
Everyone shakes hands. The kids had run off to go play, so it was just the adults right now.
“We absolutely adore Andy.” Your mom tells Paige. “He’s a sweet boy.”
“Oh, thank you.” She smiles. “He raved about those paints you got him, he uses them all the time.” Out of the corner of her eye, Paige spots Lydia and waves her over. “This is my mother, Lydia. Mum, these are Y/N’s parents, and brothers.”
“Nice to meet all of you.” She smiles to the best of her ability and shakes their hands.
“Well, I need to go see what else Harry needs help with, so I’ll leave you grown-ups to chat.”
“We’ll help too.” Phil says. “I am a chef after all.” He tugs Julian along, full well knowing how nasty Lydia can be from what you’ve told them. Your parents could easily handle it. “She looks too nice to be a bitch.” Phil smirks.
“Trust me, she has her moments, although, she doesn’t make many comments too me anymore.” You smirk back.
All of the kids enjoy the freshly grilled food that they were ravenous for. After lunch was the balloon toss. Harry pairs up with Andy, just like last year, and you decide to participate with Phil.
“I swear, if you whip this thing at me…” He says as you’re still relatively close.
“Don’t be such a baby. It’s a trust exercise if anything.”
“Mhm, exactly.”
“I prank you with one whoopee cushion and-“
“You did that in front of my prom date!”
“Well, good thing you’re gay or else I’d be more concerned that I embarrassed you in front of her.”
Phil bursts out laughing as you continue to toss the balloon. He ends up dropping it at one point, which disqualifies you. Caroline and Rachel are out next, and then Tyler and Alexis. Brandon has paired up with his dad, and it was down to the four of them again. Mr. Stewart drops the balloon at the last second, which causes for Andy and Harry to be champs once again.
Once everyone settles a bit, it’s time for cake and gifts. Andy’s friends got him some good gift certificates and other little things.
“A new skateboard!” Andy beams. “Thanks, Noah.”
“You’re welcome, buddy.” Noah smiles proudly. Things were going really well recently between him and Andy. “That’s from my parents, they send their love.” Andy nods at him.
Next up you had passed him the gift your family brought him. You had no idea what it could be.
“Holy shhhh-cow.” Andy corrects himself as he tears the wrapping paper open. “A home pottery kit?!”
“Y/N mentioned to us how much you enjoy the clay in your art classes, and we found this for kids.” Your mom explains. “Do you like it?”
“I love it! Thank you so much.”
Lydia had gotten him some new ski equipment which he was grateful for. You give your family a thumbs up. The last gift was one from you, Harry, Paige, and Noah as it cost a pretty penny. It was just in an envelope. He opens it carefully, and his eyes widen, nearly welling up with tears.
“No way.” He looks at the four of you.
“What is it, Andy?” Brandon asks.
“Three tickets to the Ariana Grande concert and…a pass for a meet and greet.”
“Whoa!” Caroline exclaims. “That’s incredible!”
Andy stands up and gives everyone a hug, thanking you all profusely.
“Think this’ll hold you over until you get a phone next year?” Paige asks him.
“Definitely.”
He knew the three tickets implied that he could bring a friend with him, and the obvious choice was Caroline. Brandon didn’t mind Ari, but it was something that Andy and Caroline really bonded over. He could talk to her about it later.
The party was a huge success, and Andy was feeling super happy. It was nice for him to see so many people interacting.
“Well, we better get going since it’s getting late.” Paige says to him, giving him a big hug and kiss. “I’m so glad you had a good birthday, baby.”
“Me too, thanks again for everything, Mum.”
He says goodbye to Noah, Rachel, Allie, Ned, and Lydia as well. Then he takes his time saying goodbye to your family. Needless to say he was pooped by the time everyone left.
“When can I use the pottery kit?” He asks Harry as he cleans some things in the kitchen.
“I can set it up in the garage one of these weekends and you can go to town.”
“Alright!” Andy exclaims. “I’m gonna go to bed early I think, I’m tired, but thanks for everything today.”
“You’re welcome, but don’t just thank me.” He nods towards you and Andy gives you a hug.
“Thanks, Y/N.”
“You’re welcome, sweetheart.”
He lets you go and heads to his room. Once his door is closed Harry yanks you towards him and you giggle.
“Laugh all you want, but I’m going to ravage you tonight.”
“Oh?”
“Mhm.” He ghosts his lips along your jawline before kissing on your neck, sucking a little making you moan softly. “You were incredible today. Well, you’re incredible every day, but…everything just meant a lot to me.”
“I really feel like we’re a family, you know? I love it so much, more than I ever thought I would.”
Harry kisses you, a little more passionately than you were expecting, but it was still nice.
“Go on into the bedroom, I’ll be in after I finish with the dishes.”
“Nonsense, I can help.”
“Don’t be silly, I’ve got it.”
“Harry, I can help with the dishes.”
“I know you can, and you usually do, but you don’t have to worry about it right now. I want you to go in and wait for me.”
“Okay…” You turn away and stop short to look back at him. “I think I’m gonna run a bath…long day outside.”
“Put in that lavender bath bomb for me, would you?”
You smile and nod and head into your room’s en suite. Tonight was going to be a good night.
//
Harry slips into the tub, and you sit in front of him. He had checked on Andy before coming in, and the poor kid had all but passed out in his bed. You rest your head on Harry’s shoulder as you both relax.
“This was an excellent idea.” He sighs. “Feel like we don’t take advantage of the tub enough.”
“We don’t usually have time.”
“Well, with school over we will, especially during the day with Andy at school.”
“I’m gonna miss him when we send him off to Paige’s…”
“It’s a month away, babe. Plus, we’ll still see him plenty.”
“I know…”
“You’ll come camping again, yeah? He and Brandon are really looking forward to the annual trip.”
“Oh, definitely! And this time when we wake up all snuggled up it won’t be weird.”
“Can’t believe that was almost a year ago.” He kisses your temple. “Now we’re living together, it’s wild.”
“I’m really glad the school doesn’t care about colleagues dating, or we’d be in a real pickle.”
“Oh, I would have just secretly dated you.”
“Oh, really?” You turn slightly to look at him.
“Yeah, you’re talking to an unapologetic romantic here, a secret romance would be, like, right up my alley.”
“You’re an idiot.” You giggle and kiss his cheek. “Can you believe I only have one more year of doctoral work to do and then I’m done? I can’t wait for my work to be published.”
“I was thinking…the journal that publishes my works is always looking for younger people in the field, if you ever wanted to chat with them.”
“No, that’s your thing, babe, but thank you. Lisa has a few names of some people for me anyways.” You take his hand and kiss his soapy knuckles. “But, I will need your help soon. I need to start working on my defense presentation.”
“Who’s on your committee?”
“Lisa, Sandra, Dan and Alice from English, Patricia from Psychology, and Greg from Philosophy.”
“Good group.”
“Thanks, I thought it was pretty decent. And then obviously whoever else wants to come can. I just want the presentation to feel fun and eye-opening. You’re so good at captivating your audience, I wanna work on that.”
“You know I have horrible stage fright?”
“No way.”
“Way! I get all these nerves right before I need to give a lecture like that, but I accept the fear and use it to help me give a good performance.”
“Do you ever get nervous before teaching a class?”
“I’m always nervous on the first day, but once we get rolling and I can gauge how the kids will be I’m usually fine.”
“Same for me.”
“Well, I’m more than happy to help you, baby, you know that.”
“Thank you.”
His arms were wrapped around you stomach gently. One of his hands starts to drift lower, and between your legs, causing your breath to hitch.
“Alright?” He says into your ear.
“Mhm.” You say as you part your legs a little for him. His other hand come up to grope one of your breasts.
His fingers rub circles into your clit before slipping into your center. You groan and buck your hips forward by accident. His other hand comes up to your mouth.
“Gotta be quiet, baby.” He coos as his fingers pump in and out of you. You nod against him and removes his hand. “That’s my good girl.”
“Harry.” You whine softly. “Wanna ride you.”
“Okay.” You move to turn around but he stops you. “Should be able to just slip it in like this, yeah?”
“Let’s give it a try.”
You lift yourself up enough for him to line himself up with you and you sink down on him. He thrusts up into you and you gasp. He brings his fingers to your mouth for you to suck on and you reach back to do the same thing for him as you continue to fuck each other. His other hand stays rubbing your clit, and you feel yourself getting closer and closer. You start squeezing around him, tighter and tighter. You moan out around his fingers once you’ve gotten your release. Harry as to quickly lift you off him to come on your back.
“Jesus, shit.” He pants. “That was a close one.” He kisses your shoulder before pressing his forehead against it. He reaches for a washcloth to dip into the water to clean your back up. You hum your response as your eyes flutter closed.
“M’sleepy now.”
“Me too, love, come on.”
He helps you stand up and you both towel off and get ready for bed. Harry gives you kisses and smooches before you turn over so he can spoon you.
“Love you so much.” He sighs as his arm wraps around you.
“I love you too.” You adjust against him and sigh as well.
//
“Straight A’s again!” Andy says as he slaps his report card down on the table when he gets home from his last day of school. “Also not to brag, but Caroline and I won the three-legged race during field day, so I think ice cream is in order.”
“You didn’t partner up with Brandon?” Harry asks.
“Caroline got to me first.” Andy shrugs. “Please, Dad, can we get ice cream?
“Yeah, please, Dad.” You pout with Andy, and Harry sighs with a chuckle.
“Alright, we can get ice cream after dinner tonight.”
Y/N and Andy high five to celebrate.
“Andy, things are okay with you and Brandon, right?” Harry asks him.
“Yeah, they’re fine.”
“Did he ever, um, try to teach you anything again?” You ask, carefully.
“No.” Andy shakes his head. “We never really talked about it. He’s excited for the camping trip though.”
“Well, that’s good.” Harry says. “It’ll be a nice couple of days.”
After dinner you all go downtown to get ice cream at the local shop, and sit outside to enjoy your treats. You smirk to yourself as Andy bites into your sundae.
“You know, I’m pretty sure I joined you for this last year, but I recall you not being able to get topping because you texted me with your dad’s phone.”
“Oh, yeah!” Andy chuckles. “That was pretty good.”
“You’re a little too sly for your own good.” Harry says. “I could have gotten her to come with us on my own.”
“Yeah, but you were taking too long. Sometimes you have to take some initiative, Dad.” Andy smirks as Harry rolls his eyes.
“Eat your ice cream.”
You laugh at that, and gives Harry’s hand a squeeze.
“Either way it was nice to be included. Do you have big summer plans with Mum, Andy?”
“Yes and no. I mean, her wedding is next month, so that’ll take up some time, and then Rachel and I will come stay with you when they’re on their honeymoon. But I think in between all that Noah’s got some boat trips planned. I like fishing with him.”
“That’s right…they’ll be with us for my birthday…” You look at Harry. “I don’t know what my family has planned…”
“I was hoping to take everyone up to the cabin that week so it still felt like a little vacation.”
“Oh, that would be fun!”
“Your family could come up if they wanted.”
“I don’t wanna create more work.”
“You wouldn’t be, I think it would be fun.”
“Yeah! We can go on the jet skis.”
“You mean you can go on the jet skis. I’ll watch from the shore.” You laugh.
“It’s actually pretty fun.” Harry grins.
“I’ll take your word for it.”
//
Brandon slept over the night before the camping trip so you all could leave bright and early. Harry was taking you up a different 4,000 footer. You must have asked him a dozen times if there would be a bathroom there, and every time Harry said yes, so you believed him.
The boys were really excited. You could hear them up late talking about the view they’d have since Andy had hiked it before. Brandon seemed thrilled to be having some one on one time with Andy. As you started up the trail, you could tell they were having a good time by the sounds of their laughter.
“Doing alright so far?” Harry asks you. “Other than the couple of small hikes we went on last month, this is, like, your first big one of the season.”
“Oh, sure, I’m fine. I’ll probably be sore tomorrow. I’m just happy to be outside, you know?”
“Definitely. I hate seeing you all cooped up.”
“Can’t help it.”
“I like seeing you do your work out on the deck.”
“I love having an outdoor space to do it in, you have no idea.”
It was a very long hike, full of breaks, and look out points. You all weren’t in a rush, which always made things more fun. Once you’re at the summit you all drop your gear with relief. Tons of pictures are taken, and then you head off to find the bathroom while the boys set up the tents. It felt like an anniversary in a way. This when you sort of realized you might like Harry as more than a friend. You’ll never forget waking up with him like you did.
“You guys are speedy.” You say after coming back.
“I’d say we’re professionals at this point.” Andy says and it makes you laugh.
As the sun starts to set, you all get cozy around the fire. Harry had made a nice dinner, and now you were enjoying some s’mores. The boys say goodnight first, and then you and Harry clean up before heading into your own tent.
“Look at us, sleeping in a double wide sleeping bag.” You giggle as you cozy up to him.
“Should have just done this last year too. I think that really would have put out there how I was feeling.” He chuckles and kisses your hairline.
“At least it won’t be awkward when you wake up spooning me.”
“I never thought it was awkward.” He strokes your cheek with his thumb. “Especially not with how you looked up at me.”
“I wanted you to kiss me that morning.”
“I did too.” He pecks your lips.
“I love kissing you.”
“Love kissing you too, baby.”
While you and Harry were whispering sweet nothings to each other, Andy and Brandon were have their own conversation in their tent.
“So, your mom’s wedding is next month, are you excited?” Brandon asks Andy as they get settled into their sleeping bags.
“Yeah, I get to walk her down the aisle, so that’ll be cool.”
“Is your dad going?”
“Officially, yeah.” Andy sighs. “I think Y/N told him it would be good to go for the whole thing, and he agreed. Although, I think he said he plans on sitting all the way in the back.” Andy laughs. “I know it’s gotta be awkward for him.” Andy rolls over onto his side to look at Brandon easier, and Brandon does the same. “When do you, um, go to camp?”
“Last week of July through the first week of August…well, that’s when I usually go, I don’t know if I wanna go this year. I have another week to decide.”
“Why don’t you wanna go?”
“Because of Molly.” Brandon groans. “We broke up again.”
“You did?!”
“Yeah.”
“When?”
“Like…two days ago…”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I figured I’d tell you this weekend, it’s not a big deal, but I don’t really feel like dealing with her for two weeks. I’m keep my fingers crossed that we won’t have the same schedule next year.”
“So, you don’t think you’re immediately going to get back together with her when school starts?” Andy laughs.
“Nope.” Brandon smiles. “I’m over her.”
“Cool…” Andy blushes. “Well, if you don’t end up going to camp, um, my mum said I could invite a few friends to her wedding.”
“Oh, yeah?” Brandon raises an eyebrow at him. “Who else are you going to invite?”
“Probably Caroline and Tyler.”
“Andy…if you still like her so much, why did you break up?”
“I like being friends with her, I don’t know. I don’t think I was ready for all that…dating someone…maybe when I’m older.”
“There were a few rumors going around that you liked someone more than her.” Andy’s eyes widen at Brandon. “Is that true?”
“Yeah.” Andy swallows. “Yeah, there’s someone I like more than her, but I’m still not really ready to date so I’ve been keeping it to myself.”
“Who, um, who is it?”
“I can’t tell you.”
“Why?” Brandon frowns. “You’re my best friend, Andy…I’d tell you if I liked someone.”
“Would you?” Andy sits up and looks the other way. Brandon sits up as well.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I?”
“Can I ask you something first?”
“Okay.”
“If…if Tyler had been nervous about kissing Alexis…would you have offered to show him how like you did with me?”
Brandon’s face flushes. He was thankful that it was dark in the tent.
“Well, he’s not even with her, so it doesn’t matter does it?”
“Yes it does. Would you have done that with anyone?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Because you’re my best friend.” Brandon takes a deep breath. “You have been for as long as I can remember, Andy. I mean…the day you told me that you weren’t going back to your mom’s for the school year was, like, more exciting than any present I’ve ever gotten. Getting to start middle school with you was like a dream come true. Ty’s great and all, but he’s not my best friend.”
“So…that’s all it was then? Because I’m your best friend and you just wanted to help?”
“Yeah.”
Andy nods and lays back down. Brandon does the same. They both lay on their backs.
“You’re gonna tell me who else you like, are you?”
“No.” Andy looks at Brandon slightly. “Not yet anyways.”
“If I don’t go to camp I’ll come to the wedding.” He looks at Andy. “Just don’t dance with Caroline the entire time.” He smirks.
“I won’t.”
Andy rolls over to his other side, facing away from Brandon. He blinks a couple of tears away. How could he tell Brandon he liked him when Brandon was telling him he was just a friend? He didn’t want to do anything to ruin their friendship. He also knew he just wasn’t ready for kissing or things like that, so he wasn’t going to say anything until he knew he was really ready.
//
The next morning you wake up in Harry’s arms, like always, and give his cheek a kiss before sitting up to stretch.
“Sleep alright, baby?” He yawns.
“Mhm, did you?”
“Yup.” He smiles and you smile back at him. This weekend felt like an anniversary to him too. Your actual one was coming up soon.
You both get up and use the bathroom, and see that the boys are already up and ready to go. They seemed to be tired.
“You both sleep alright?” You ask as you start your journey back down the mountain.
“Mhm.” Brandon yawns. “Just tired, it’s early.”
“I’m so glad school’s over so we can just sleep in.” Andy says.
“I know the feeling.” You say. “Although, your dad makes it impossible sometimes.”
“Well excuse me for trying to stick to a routine.” Harry scoffs. “I do my best to stay quiet.”
“Mm, sure, Jan.” You say and it makes him laugh.
“Is that something Auntie Janette would say?” Andy asks.
“No, it’s from The Brady Bunch.” Harry says. “You know that old show, we’ve watched it a couple of times. Jan can’t stand her older sister Marsha, and Marsha always catches Jan in a lie. It’s pretty funny.”
“It’s, like, a catchphrase, right, Mr. Styles?” Brandon asks.
“Exactly.”
It’s a smooth trek down the mountain. You all take your time just as you did going up, and eventually you get back to the car. Harry drops Brandon off at his house, and Andy walks him up to his door.
“Well, thanks for another great trip.” Brandon say.
“Sure, I’m glad you came.”
“When do you go to your mom’s?”
“In a few days…”
“Okay, maybe we can hang out before you go?”
“Definitely.” The boys hug and then Brandon goes inside. Andy sighs heavily when he gets in the car. You and Harry look at each other before he drives off towards the house.
“Andy, when you come back later this summer the kitchen’s gonna have an all new look, are you excited?” You say, trying to break the tension.
“Yeah! You better send me pictures along the way.”
“We will.” Harry says. “We’ll need your expert input I’m sure.”
//
Doing demo in the kitchen was a liberating experience. Knocking out the old cabinets with Harry was more fun than you thought it would be. Then again, how could it not be a good time watch him use a sledgehammer?
“I say we’ve earned ourselves a couple of drinks.” He says as he gets a couple of beers out of the fridge. “I know beer’s not your favorite, but-“
“It’s fine.” You take it. “Let’s go sit outside, it’s all dusty in here.”
He agrees, and you both head out to the deck.
“I’m glad we rented that dumpster, clean up shouldn’t be too difficult.” Harry says as he cracks his beer open. “Especially with how much we already did.”
“I know! We got so much done today. I can’t wait to see what the new stain on the floor will look like.”
“I was talking to the floor guy about that, he said since he’s refinishing it as well we won’t be able to walk on it properly for a few days. I was thinking we could go up to the cabin while it’s getting done. We both can still work without a ton of fumes.”
“Good idea. I certainly wouldn’t mind the view of the lake for a few days.”
“Cabinets should be installed by the wedding.” He says as he takes a sip.
“You’re sure you’re okay to go? I don’t want to force you…”
“No, I know I need to be there. I wanna see Andy walk her down the aisle and all that. Besides, my suit is gorgeous, I can’t let it go to waste.” He scoffs and it makes you laugh.
“Just making sure.” You reach for his hand and give it a squeeze. “Ugh, I need a long, hot shower. I feel gross.”
“Same here. Feel like sharing?”
“No, I’m on my period.” You pout. “Just need a little alone time.”
“Fine.” He sighs. “Go do your thing.”
“Thanks, babe.” You get up and kiss the top of his head before going inside.
Harry knew you were going to take a shower by yourself, but he wanted to play it cool. He had ordered pizza and made sure to get your favorite wine, but had to hide it from you. He cleans himself off quickly in the other bathroom, and gets everything set up outside. He lights a few candles. Satisfied with his work, he waits for you.
“I’m all done, thanks for…” You walk outside in an oversized shirt and pajama pants. “What is all this?”
“Our anniversary dinner.” He smiles and wraps his arms around you. “It was a year ago today that you came here with this exact meal and we kissed for the for the first time.”
“Oh my goodness, Harry.” You kiss him and wrap your arms around his neck. “This is so sweet, I…I thought we were celebrating in a couple of days though, I-“
“That’s what I told you so I could surprise you. Normally I’d cook, but the kitchen isn’t functioning at the moment.”
“I love you so much.”
“I love you too.”
You both kiss again, and you decide to sit on his lap as you ate and drank. You just really wanted to be as close as possible right now. He didn’t mind one bit, he liked when you’d cling to him a little more.
“The candles were a nice touch, very romantic, Har.” You sit back against his chest and he wraps his arms around your stomach.
“I’m glad you like it.”
“I love it! I’m not super into overdone surprises, so this is literally perfect.”
“You really do like keeping things simple, huh?”
“Mhm, I mean, the gesture is always appreciated, I just don’t like people making such a big fuss over me, you know?” Harry hums his response and moves some of your hair so he can kiss on the back of your neck.
“But you’re worth making a fuss over.” He mumbles as his lips move up your neck. “How heavy is your flow, baby?”
“Should be minimal since I just showered.” You bite your bottom lip. “Do you really feel like it?”
“Yeah, we can just put a towel down like we’ve done before.”
“Okay.” You smile as he nibbles on your earlobe.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” You giggle and get off him. You bring the pizza and leftover wine inside before going into the bedroom.
Harry puts a couple of towels down while you go into the bathroom. You come out and quickly walk over to the bed to lay down. Harry rolls a condom on, and puts some extra lube on it so he doesn’t hurt you.
“All set?” He says to you as he knees onto the bed.
“Mhm.” You smile.
His lips slot over yours and his hands knead your breasts. He pushes inside you and you gasp into his mouth.
“Lube was a little cold.” You giggle.
“Sorry, baby, is it better now?” He asks as he rocks in and out of you.
“Yes.”
He squishes his nose to yours, and you wrap your legs around his waist. He comes closer so you’re chest to chest. You lick into his mouth and he groans against you. You feel tears start to form in your eyes and you start laughing.
“You haven’t even come yet, why are you crying?” He laughs as he uses his thumbs to wipe the small droplets away.
“I’m just really happy we’re together.”
“Me too, darling.” He kisses your forehead.
“I’m also hormonal.”
“Mhm, sure, blame it on that if you want.” He smirks and continues thrusting in and out of you.
“Fuck, that feels good.” Your nails rake down his back and he groans into your ear. Your nails dig into his ass as he fucks you harder. “Just like that, Harry, don’t stop.” You moan.
He bites down on your neck, and you whimper. It always felt so fucking good when he would do that, and with you not having to work and Andy being at Paige’s, Harry was free to litter you with marks. Well, within reason. He’d save the really nasty bruises for your inner thighs.
You cry out as you come undone, and Harry fills up the condom not too long after. You both get cleaned up and you grab the bottle of wine as you get settled for a movie in bed. You each take turns swigging from it. You were sitting in front of Harry, all cozy.
“I’ll need to work on my paper tomorrow.” You tell him. “Taking a couple of days off for demo was good to clear my head, but I need to get back at it.”
“That’s fine, I have some work I need to do for my manuscript. Are you planning to go to the CMT conference again this summer?”
“Can’t.” You take another swig from the bottle and look up at him. “It’s in California this year, and it’s right before the fall semester.”
“So?”
“So…that’s time I would need to prep for my classes. I’d be gone for about a week with the traveling.”
“Do you want to go?”
“Well…yeah, there’s going to be some really good speakers this year.”
“Then you should go.” He smiles. “I’d go too, but I need to be around for Andy once August hits.”
“You’d really be okay with me being gone an entire week across the country?”
“Baby, no one loves a lecture more than you, I don’t want you to not go because of me.” He kisses your hairline.
“I’d literally be getting back the day of our first faculty meeting. I looked into it already. I’d have to go from the airport to the school.”
“You’re always hours early for the faculty meeting…”
“Yeah, because I like getting my office in order.” You scoff. “Is there a reason you want me to go?”
“No.” He shrugs. “I just think it’s rare when we don’t have to cancel class to go to a conference, and the school will pay for you to go.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, you can apply for a scholarship, I can show you. Then it would just be the air fare which isn’t that expensive out there this time of year.”
“I suppose that’s true…if I can get the school to pay for it then I’ll definitely go.”
“Good.” He smiles.
//
A few days away at the cabin were just what the doctor ordered. It felt weird not having Andy around, but you honestly weren’t upset at having a break from parenting. You texted with him here and there, just to check in and let him know you were thinking of him, as did Harry. You really cherished the time you and Harry could just be you and Harry. He got you to go on a jet ski with him, and even though you screamed the entire time, it was still fun. It was the perfect getaway home, and when you got back to your actual home your new kitchen floors looked stunning. The cabinet people came in a couple of days later, and you made sure to send Andy all of the pictures. July was flying by.
“Okay, so, for your birthday, we’ll go to the cabin and bring the kids, and your parents and brothers will meet us up there for a couple of nights as well?” Harry says as he looks over his planner.
“Yes.” You chuckle.
“What?”
“You just look so serious. I feel like I’m having an appointment with you at your office.” You clear your throat. “You wanted to see me, Dr. Styles.” You pout at him and he swallows hard.
“That’s not funny.” He puts his pen down and takes his glasses off to look at you. “I could get in a big heap of trouble if a student came onto me like that.”
“Did it ever used to work on you when you were younger?”
“No.” He scoffs. “Although the girls, and some boys, would try, I have to give them credit. I’d get offers from them to babysit Andy just because they wanted to know how I lived and all that. It was more difficult when I was closer in age, now I don’t even give it a second glance. They know not to flirt with me anyways because my girlfriend would probably step in and pummel ‘em.” He grins at you.
“Got that right.” You smirk. “Although, you’re the jealous one, not me.”
“I would strangle any kid at that school if I saw them trying to make a move on you, no doubt about that.” You burst out laughing and put your hand over his to give it a squeeze.
“Okay, okay…are you ready for tomorrow?”
“Am I ready to see my son all dressed up? Yes. I hope he’s been behaving at the rehearsal dinner.” Harry looks at his watch. “Should be over soon.” He chews on his inner cheek. “Y/N…someday…when we, you know, get married…” A smile grows on your face. “I don’t think I’d want to invite them.”
“Wow, really? I’m…shocked…”
“At a petty level, I truthfully just don’t think she deserves to see me so happy, and I feel like she’s rubbing how happy she is in my face. She’s always been like, just, painfully oblivious.” He rests his chin on her palm. “I know it would hurt her, but I wouldn’t want her there.”
“Okay.” You get up and sit in his lap.
“Okay?”
“Yeah, I don’t need your ex at our wedding.” You laugh. “Maybe it’s different for her since she’s the one that called it quits. I know you’re over her, but I can understand how all this might still hurt.”
“It brings up a lot of things, yeah.” He looks up at you and smiles. “But I’m really happy with how everything worked out. I’m happy I’m with you.” He gives your shoulder a squeeze. “You-you’ve become like a second mum to Andy and…I feel like for so long I was just living my life on auto, just doing the same thing every day, but now…I have more of a purpose again.”
“Harry.” You coo and stroke his cheek. “You’ve changed my life for the better too.”
//
You were able to get your hair in a cute low bun, with some curls left out. You bought a light blue semi-formal dress to wear to pair with Harry’s suit. He was just getting his contacts in as you were slipping on your heels.
“Be honest, how do I look?” He says to you.
“Like I don’t wanna let you leave this house.” You bite your bottom lip.
“Excellent, just what I was going for.” He rubs his hands up and down your arms. “You look stunning, baby.”
“Thank you.”
“Ready to go meet her entire family and Noah’s?”
“Is everyone really going to fit in her backyard?”
“The ceremony is in the back yard, the reception is in a tent on the beach.”
“Oh…fancy.”
“Nothing but the best for her.” Harry rolls his eyes. “Got the gift?”
“In the car already.”
Harry nods and you both head out.
Andy looked handsome. His hair was perfect, and he essentially never looked more like his father. It was the tan he had from being out so much. He wouldn’t be able to see his friends before the ceremony since he needed to stay in close proximity with Paige. They were able to take all of the bridal party photos beforehand. Same with the groom’s party.
There were a ton of chairs set up, and people were finding their seats. You and Harry sit in the last row of seats on the bride’s side. He puts a pair of sunglasses on. The last thing he wanted to do was be recognized and exchange pleasantries with Paige’s extended family.
“I have some tissue in my purse if you need some.” You say to him. “I don’t know about you, but I always cry at weddings.”
“So do I, thanks.” He holds his hand out for the tissues and you give him a couple. He puts his arm around you and kisses your temple.
“Think there will be an open bar?”
“Oh, for sure.” He scoffs. “We’ll be drinking well tonight.”
“Hi, Mr. Styles.” Brandon and Tyler come up to you and Harry. “Can we sit with you? We don’t really know anyone else.”
“Sure!” Harry says.
“Yeah, plenty of room.” You say. “Where’s Caroline?”
“Why should I know?” Brandon says as he sits down next to you.
“Because you’re all friends, duh.” You say to him.
“She’s in the bathroom.” Tyler says. “She’ll be here in a second.”
Caroline eventually joins everyone, but she’s a little fidgety.
“What took you so long?” Brandon asks her.
“There was, um, a line.” She says.
More and more take their seats, and music starts up. Everyone looks forward as Rachel walks up with Noah and the rest of the groomsmen. She looked lovely. Noah gives her a hug and kiss before she gets in line with the rest of the party. A couple of Paige’s younger cousins act as the flower girls. Allie and Ned walk Lydia down the aisle, and then come the bridesmaids. Harry knew them all well. Friends from college, and friends from work. Some of their eyes widen when they notice Harry, but they keep walking. Everyone stands up when Paige’s bridal music starts. You get your phone ready to snap a few shots of Andy.
“Oh my god, look at him.” Harry whispers proudly. He lifts his sunglasses to see him better. Andy waves to his father.
Paige and Harry briefly make eye contact. They nod at each other as Andy continues to walk her down the aisle.
“He’s a spitting image.” You whisper to Harry, and he smiles at you.
The ceremony is quick, there’s some Hebrew from a rabbi, and Noah steps on the glass. Everyone’s told where to go for cocktail hour, and they start making their way.
“Dad!” Andy shouts to get his attention. “Mum wants a family picture.”
“What?!”
“Yeah, like, with all of us, come on.” He tugs on Harry’s jacket sleeve, and Harry looks back at you panicked. You follow them to the spot where the photos are being taken.
“Hey you two!” Paige beams. “Of course your suit is amazing, shouldn’t have doubted it for a second.” She says to Harry. “And you look lovely, Y/N.”
“Um, thank you. Congratulations.” You say to her.
“Thank you.” She giggles. “I’m a missus!  Can’t believe it. Anyways, I thought it would be nice if we took a blended family photo.” Harry just nods and follows her. “Okay, so I was thinking I could stand in the middle, Rachel on one side, and Andy on the other, like, in front, and then Noah on one side and you on the other, and Y/N next to you.”
“Wait, you want me in the photo?” You ask.
“Of course! You’re family now, have been for a while.”
Harry snakes his arm around your waist and pulls you close to him, and uses his other hand to put on Andy’s shoulder. They take a few photos like that as everyone else stands to the side watching.
“Okay, well, we’re going to the cocktail hour, thanks for including us in your very special day.” Harry says with just an ounce of sarcasm and an ironic grin, and tugs you along.
“Alright, I can see what you mean now, painfully oblivious.”
“Jesus, thank you! Was that awkward or was that awkward?”
“Nope, very awkward. Come on, let’s go drink.”
The tent on the beach was exquisite. There was an open bar, a DJ, and waiters walking around with appetizers. You and harry go right up to the bar for cocktails before finding what table you’ve been put at.
“Harry!” A woman squeals and lunges onto him, making him almost spill his drink. “God, it’s been years!”
“Sarah!” Harry hugs her back. “I know, how are you?”
“I’m doing well.” She steps back from him. “You haven’t aged a day.”
“My hair would beg to differ.” He runs a hand through it.
“Oh, please, you look distinguished.” She smiles and looks at you. “And who’s this?”
“Oh! Sorry, um, Sarah this is my girlfriend, Y/N. Y/N, Sarah and I went to uni together with Paige.”
“Hi, it’s nice to meet you.” You shake her hand.
“Same to you. My hubby, Joe, is just getting us some drinks. Seems like we’ve been put at the same table. I wonder if we all were.”
“All?” Harry asks.
“Sure! Jane and her wife are her, and so is Greg, he came stag…” She leans into Harry. “Divorced recently.” She whispers. “Oh! And Lauren’s here too. Basically the reject list for the wedding party.” She laughs.
Harry didn’t think Paige was still this close with all of their old college buddies. It would be like a mini-reunion, and he wasn’t sure how he felt about it. He almost wished he was put at the kids table with Andy and his friends.
“I’m shocked to see you here, I mean I’m happy to see you and all, but-“
“Well, as you saw, our son walked her down the aisle and she really didn’t want me to miss it, so here I am.”
Slowly everyone else makes their way over to the table. Harry introduces you to everyone. The last one to make their way is Lauren.
“Harry Styles.” She smiles and he turns to look at her.
“Hey.” He smiles back and hugs her. “Um, this is my girlfriend, Y/N.” He hooks his arm around your waist and pulls you close to his side as you shake your hand.
“You’re a very lucky woman, Y/N. Harry’s the best.” She says.
“Yeah, he is.” You say.
You all take your seats as the wedding party makes their way into the tent. Harry keeps his hand on your thigh the entire time. Harry could see on Paige’s face that she was desperately trying to keep it together. She missed her father. Everyone stands up and crowds around the dancefloor as Noah takes Rachel’s hand for a father-daughter dance.
“She is too cute.” You say to Harry.
“I know it, absolutely precious.” He agrees and takes a sip of his drink.
Next up is a mother-son dance for Andy and Paige. You watch as the smile grows on Harry’s face. He was proud of Andy for being such a good sport, and he could see that Andy was having fun. You take your phone out to take a video of the dance so Andy could see it later. Noah has a dance with his mother, and then Paige has a dance with Lydia.
“I’m shocked.” Harry says to you. “Lydia’s so traditional.”
“I’m glad to see her doing something nice for Paige.”
Once all of that is out of the way, everyone takes their seats again for the first course. Just a Caesar salad and some bread. You listen as Harry and his friends reminisce. You wonder, briefly, what his deal with Lauren is. She seemed to be the most sentimental. She was sitting next to you and you could feel her eyes burning into you.
“So, how long have you and Harry been together for?” She asks you.
“A year.” You smile. “But we were friends a year prior to us getting together.”
“Oh, do you work with him at the university?”
“Yes, we met because I ended up being his office neighbor. I guess that’s why we became such good friends too.”
“You know what solidified us being friends?” He leans over you, joining the conversation. “That first game night you came to. We were playing charades remember?”
“How could I forget?” You smile and kiss his cheek. He goes back to the other conversation he was having with his friend Greg. “How did you and Harry meet?” You ask Lauren.
“At a party.” She shrugs. “I was a year ahead of him, same with Paige. I think Greggy brought him out, they were roommates their sophomore year. He fit right in with our group. He immediately had a crush on Paige, everyone could see it.” She laughs and your mouth forms into a straight line. “Don’t worry, all of that was a long time ago.”
“Yeah.” You finish your drink and tap Harry’s shoulder. “I’m going to get another one.”
“Do you want me to get it?”
“No, I need to stretch my legs.” You stand up and walk towards the bar. Harry looks at Lauren.
“What?” She asks him.
“Did you say something to her?”
“About what?” He gives her an obvious look. “No, why would I mention that?”
“Because you’re you.” He smirks.
“All I said was that it was obvious that you had a crush on Paige from the first time Greg brought you out, nothing about you and I.”
“Maybe don’t mention how much I used to like my ex?”
“She asked me how you and I met, it was just part of the story. Lighten up, H.”
“Here, I got you another one too.” You say as you sit back down.
“Thanks, babe.”
The main course is served, and toasts start being made. Allie gives a small toast, but tears up. Noah’s best man lightens the mood with some funny jokes. Andy and Rachel even give a toast, a poem they worked on together. Harry had to dab his eyes with your tissues to wipe a few tears away.
“I’m just so proud of him. He looks so grown up.” He pouts at you.
“I know.” You smile. “It’s okay.”
Noah and Paige thank everyone for coming, and then most people make their way to the dancefloor. Andy comes racing overo to your table and throws his arms around Harry.
“How was it?” He asks.
“You did amazing, buddy.”
“Y/N, will you come dance?”
“Sure, let me just kick these heels off.” You giggle and get up. Andy takes your hand and leads you to the dancefloor.
Harry watches as you twirl Andy around and just be silly with him. It warmed his heart.
“I’m gonna go join them.” He takes his suit jacket off. “Hope you all will dance too.”
“Need about three more drinks.” Sarah says. “But feel free to warm it up for us out there.”
Harry laughs and heads over to you. His dance moves make Andy laugh hysterically. The wedding photographer comes over and takes a picture of the three of you. After a few songs, Andy says he’s gonna go dance with his friends, and enjoy some cake.
“Are you having a good time?” Harry asks as you both make your way to the bar again.
“Mhm, are you?”
“It’s not too bad. I’m really glad you’re here.” He gives your hand a squeeze. “This’ll probably be my last one, I don’t wanna get so fucked up that I can’t drive us home.”
“I can cool it if you wanna keep drinking.”
“No, it’s okay. I also don’t want Andy seeing me sloshed, you know?”
“Oh, true. Let’s nurse these ones then, yeah?”
“Harry!” Paige comes over to you both. “Would you come take another picture with all our college friends?”
“Um, sure.” Harry hands you his drink and you follow to where the photo is being taken. He stands as far away from Paige as he can, and flashes that toothy smile of his.
“Not that I don’t love Noah, but seeing Harry tonight…makes me sad that Paige couldn’t work it out with him.” You overhear a woman say to another. You try not to make it obvious that you’re listening.
“I know! How could you not make it work with a man like that? Must be his personality, good dick can only make you happy for so long.”
Your mouth falls open in shock. You turn to the women and grimace. Before you have a chance to say anything Harry’s coming back over to you, snatching his drink and tugging you back to the dancefloor. You shake what you heard from your head as you look at him. Harry had a wonderful personality, and if those bitched were too dumb to see that, then fuck them. It was fun to dance with Harry like this, just goofy and without a care.
Andy was having a good time dancing as a group with his friends. A slow song comes on to give everyone a break from the fast paced music. He looks over and sees you and Harry coming together for a dance and he smiles.
“Now this is my favorite kind of dancing.” Harry says into your ear.
“Really? So when we went to that club up north and I backed my thang up against you...?” You raise an eyebrow at him.
“Okay, this is my second favorite kind of dancing.” You both giggle. “That was a great night, I have to say.”
“Mhm.” You smile and kiss him quickly before resting your head on his shoulder as he leads you.
“Andy, wanna dance?” Caroline asks him shyly.
“Yeah.” He smiles and puts his hands on her waist.
“You look really handsome.”
“Thanks.” He blushes. “I like your dress. You know you always look pretty.”
She smiles at him.
“I’m glad we’re still good friends.” She says as they sway back and forth.
“Me too.”
“During the next slow song you should ask Brandon to dance.”
“What?”
“It’s like you’re always saying, rip the band aid.” She grins at him.
“Caroline, I…”
“Look, I’m not trying to assume anything, but if I had to guess who it was you liked I’d say it’s him, and I think he likes you too, but you both are just being stupid by not going for it.”
“You really think he likes me back?” It was the first time he had admitted his feels to a friend.
“I think so, I think he’s just nervous.” She shrugs.
“This whole thing has been really confusing. You were the first girl I ever really liked, and I like him too, so…”
“My oldest sister deals with the same thing.”
“She does?!”
“Yeah! She came out to us earlier this year, she said she’s bi.”
“And your parents were cool with it?”
“Sure, they were just happy she felt comfortable enough to say how she was feeling.”
“Wow.”
“See? It’s way more common than you think.” The song ends and they let go of each other. “And, just for the record, you were the first boy I ever really liked too, and I’m happy I get to say Andy Styles was my first boyfriend.” She kisses his cheek and he smiles. “I have to use the ladies room, I’ll be back.”
“What was that about?” Brandon asks Andy as he and Tyler step closer.
“Nothing.” He shrugs.
“Are you back together?”
“No, she just kissed my cheek, uh, thanking me for the dance. It’s no big deal, B.”
Brandon nods and they all start dancing again. You and Harry sit for a bit to rest your feet, and to munch on some bread. You notice that Lauren and Greg have been pretty chatty.
“Think anything’s going to happen between those two?” You nod over to them.
“Wouldn’t put it past her.” Harry scoffs. “I bet she was hoping I wouldn’t be here with someone.” Alright, so he was a little drunk, and that statement just slipped.
“Why’s that?”
“Hm? Oh, I don’t know.” He shakes his head and you narrow your eyes at him. “What?”
“Harry if you used to hook up with her you can just say so, it was, like, fifteen years ago…”
“You make me sound so old.” He pouts. “Alright, yeah, we used to hook up, but it wasn’t serious, and we kept it quiet, not wanting to disrupt our circle of friends. She’s just one of those people that you think is really sweet and wholesome, and then she’s not. I didn’t like it.” He stands back up and puts his hand out to you. “Come on, let’s go dance some more.”
“Okay.” You take his hand and go back out to the dancefloor. Another slow starts and you happily wrap your arms around Harry’s neck. “I take back what I said earlier, this really is the best kind of dancing.”
He smiles at you and then leans in for a kiss. Your lips press together and then you both sigh as you dance. Andy takes a deep breath and goes over to Brandon who was sitting down, drinking some water. Tyler and Caroline had been picked up to go home already. Brandon’s parents wouldn’t be there to pick him up until a little later.
“Hey.” Andy says to him.
“Hey, my parents are on their way.”
“Oh…so you don’t wanna dance?” He rubs the back of his neck.
“To this song?” Brandon stands up and puts his hands in his pockets. “A little slow, don’t you think?”
“I’m okay with the tempo.”
“There’s a lot of people around…”
“We could go outside, I’m gonna walk you out anyways.”
“Okay.”
Andy and Brandon go outside the tent. There were a few people out there having smoke breaks and just a breather from dancing. They go to the side where things are a little more secluded.
“How…how should we do this?” Andy asks.
“We could just hug and sway back and forth.”
“Yeah, that makes sense.” The boys hug and start swaying back and forth. Andy’s heart was racing like never before. “I’m really glad you didn’t go to camp this summer.” Andy says and they stop to look at each other.
“You are?”
“Yeah.” He smiles at his friend.
Brandon daintily cups one of Andy’s cheeks, and Andy closes his eyes. Just as Brandon leans in his phone goes off. He sighs and presses his forehead to Andy’s for a moment before getting his phone out of his pocket and letting Andy go.
“Hello?” He says obviously annoyed. “Yeah, I’m ready, are you here? Okay…I’m down at the tent, I’ll wait outside for you.” He hangs up. “My dad’s, uh, gonna come get me out here, so…”
“Right.” Andy nods. “How long do you think he’ll be?”
“He said five minutes.”
“Alright, well, I’ll wait out here with you.”
“Thanks.” The boys walk close to the entrance of the tent to wait for Brandon’s dad.
“Brandon?”
“Yeah?”
“Were you going to kiss me?”
“Yeah, I was.” Andy’s face flushes as he looks at his friend. “Got sort of interrupted.” He runs a hand through his hair. “Maybe another time, though?”
Andy smiles at him and nods yes. Mr. Stewart comes to the tent and the boys say goodbye. Andy goes back inside and heads to the dancefloor with you and Harry.
“There you are!” You exclaim. “They’re gonna do the cha cha slide.”
“Great!” The song starts and Harry watches a ton of you follow along with the steps of the song. “Come on, Dad!”
“Fine!” Harry jumps in and follows along as well.
It ended up being a great night despite some of the awkwardness. You get your shoes on, but they sting. You contemplate just walking out barefoot, but you could easily step on broken glass outside, so you decide against it.
“All set?” Harry says to you. “Just confirmed with Paige. The kids will get dropped off in a couple of days, and then we’re headed to the cabin.”
“Perfect. It’s gonna be a great week away.”
You both say goodnight to Andy, who was about ready to pass out from all the dancing he did. Him and Rachel head up to the house.
“So, how were things with Brandon?” She asks him.
“Good…we danced together outside the tent.”
“Oh, how was that?!” She squeals.
“Shh, do you want the neighbors to hear? It was fine.” He smiles. “Just fine.”
Harry gets the two of you home, and you give him a devious grin as you get inside. He raises his eyebrows at you as if to ask if you’re not too tired, but you wink and start walking towards the bedroom.
“Feeling a little frisky, eh?” He asks as he takes his suit jacket off.
“Mhm, you looked so sexy tonight, and watching you dance really did it for me.”
“Oh, yeah?” He pulls you close to him.
“Yeah.”
You press your lips to his, and swipe your tongue along his bottom lip. He opens up for you and your tongue molds to his. He reaches behind you to unzip your dress, and it falls to the floor, pooling at your feet. Your hands work to unbutton his dress-shirt, and you push it off his shoulders. Next you get his pants undone and he leads you over to the bed. He shimmies out of his trousers and gets on the bed with you. You get between his legs and tug his boxers down. You kiss his tip and he hisses from the sensation. You lick up and down his shaft before wrapping your lips around him. You bob up and down slowly and look up at him.
“That’s so good, baby.” You raise your eyebrows at him while your tongue runs over his slit. “You’re a good girl, Y/N.”
Your eyes flutter closed, and you continue to suck on him how he likes, drool dripping down your chin. You don’t suck on him for too much longer since you want him to fuck you. You crawl up his body and grind your covered center over him. He unhooks your bra and kisses on your chest. He rolls ones of your nipples between his teeth and your head falls back.
“I need to get these off.” You grunt and get your panties off. You grab his length and line it up with yourself. “Okay?”
“Yeah, I’ll just pull out.”
You nod and sink down him. Your mouth falls open as he stretches every inch of you. You grip his shoulders and move yourself up and down.
“You got this wet just from sucking on me?” He grunts as he grips your hips to help move you back and forth.
“Can’t help it when I’m doing that and you call me a good girl, Harry.” You peck his lips. “It’s so hot.” You move to suck on his neck, and he presses you as close to him as possible.
You move in sync with each other, and you grind against him in the perfect way. You start breathing heavier as you feel yourself getting closer. You breathlessly tell him to keep going. You tighten around him as you come undone around his hard dick.
“Shit, fuck, Y/N!”
“Oof!”
He had to toss you off of him so he wouldn’t come inside you, leaving quite the mess on his lower stomach and thighs.
“Sorry, are you alright?”
“Yeah.” You giggle and prop yourself up on your elbows. “Are you? Normally you can hold it a little longer.”
“Not when you tighten up like that, Jesus…” He sighs and looks down at himself.
“I’ll go get a rag.” You get off the bed and go into the bathroom to grab a washcloth and run it under some warm water.
You come back and clean him up. He smiles up at you and you lean down to kiss him.
“We need to be more careful.” He says as you get into bed with him. “Just suck it up and use the condom, you know?”
“I know.” You sigh. “It just feels so good.” You pout at him.
“I know, darling, but you said you didn’t want to get pregnant until you have your doctorate. I’d feel terrible if it happened, and you got really stressed out…”
“Harry, if it happens it happens. It would be stressful, but plenty of women do it all the time. Now’s not the most ideal time, but I can’t tell you how excited I get when I think of carrying your baby sometimes.” You bite your bottom lip as you look at him.
“Don’t even fucking tempt me, Y/N, you know I’d put one in you now if you really wanted it.”
“I know, I’m sorry.” You kiss him quickly before turning over. “Soon, I promise.”

A week with Andy and Rachel at the cabin was interesting to say the least. Watching their dynamic was fascinating. They really did act like brother and sister. They’d bicker one minute and be laughing the next. He showed her how to use the jet skis, and they built sand castles together. Your family came up, and it made it ten times more fun for your birthday. Your parents even stay in to watch the kids so you, Harry, Phil, and Julian can all go out to a bar to celebrate. You couldn’t believe you were already twenty-eight. It was hard to feel old, though, when you could still have such a great time dancing and drinking. The day of your actual birthday you all enjoy some cake, and a few gifts.
Andy was back home with you and Harry now that it was just about the middle of August. It was nice having him home, it was too quiet without him, even if you did enjoy the alone time with Harry. Andy loved all of the changes that were made to the house. He had kept what happened with Brandon, or what almost happened with Brandon, to himself. He just wanted to keep that moment for himself. The Ariana Grande concert wouldn’t be until November, but Andy was already talking to you about outfit choices for the meet and greet.
“I just got back, and you’re leaving for a week?” Andy asks you at dinner when you tell him about your trip to California.
“Yeah, I have a conference to go to, I’ll be back before you know it.” You smile. “You’re gonna have some nice quality time with Dad.”
“Yeah, we’re gonna have a lot of fun.”
“Mhm, I can’t wait to go back to school shopping with you and Mum.” Andy rolls his eyes.
“That’s a day that should be way more fun that it is, and we’re not doing that until after Y/N gets back. We’ll have another pot painting day.” Harry takes a bite of his dinner. “I was thinking we could go to the pottery paint place, though. Have a little father-son date.”
“Ew, don’t call it a date, Dad.”
You burst out laughing. You’d miss your boys over the next week.
//
“Dad, can we do the pottery thing another time, Brandon invited me to go to the skate park tomorrow.” Andy says to Harry the night before they’re supposed to go to the pottery place.
“Oh, well, you can go skateboarding with him any time, can’t you? Or even afterwards?”
“Why can’t we just go paint another day?”
“I was sort of looking forward to spending the time with you.” Harry frowns. “We haven’t done much just the two of us in a while.”
“That’s because you spend all your free time with Y/N.” Andy smirks and sits down on the couch with Harry.
“Not true, we do stuff as the three of us. I feel like you like spending time with her more than me.”
“That’s not true! I guess I can go skateboarding with B another day.”
“I don’t wanna go tomorrow if it’s gonna be a force for you.”
“It won’t be. It’ll be fun.” He looks at Harry. “She’s only been gone two days, you know?”
“I’m aware.”
“So, she’ll be back in another three. It’ll go by quick.”
“I just feel bad that she has to go right from the airport to our faculty meeting.” He sighs. “But I suppose it’s all going to work out perfectly.”
“Yeah, she’s gonna be really surprised.”
//
Spending a week in California was amazing. You felt like your old independent self. It was nice to explore in the evenings, and you got a lot out of the sessions you attended. You had a ton of new ideas for your classes and for your paper. You spoke to Harry when you could. The three hour time difference was much more manageable than the six hour one like when he was in London.
You were happy with the tan you managed to get out there, and did your best to sleep on the plane home so you weren’t totally exhausted. You take the bus back to town, and load your things up in your car and drive over to the university. You managed to freshen up at the airport, and you texted Harry updates so he knew when to expect you. What you refrained from telling him was that you were going to stop by your office quickly just to open it up and let it get some fresh air from the window. You also needed to grab your spare laptop charger.
There was something you liked about the quiet before the semester started. It was like the calm before an incredible storm. You were feeling extremely prepared for this semester. It would be your third year teaching at the university, and you were feeling really good about it. You key into your office and set something down.
“Well, if it isn’t my not so new neighbor.”
“Jesus!” You nearly jump out of your shoes. Even though you knew Harry’s voice well, he still found ways to scare the shit out of you. You sigh and turn around. “And to think I was…excited…to…see…you…” Your eyes widen when you see him down on one knee with a small velvet box in one hand, and a shit eating grin on his face. “How…how did you know I’d come here first?” Your eyes start to water.
“Because I know you very well, come here.” You step towards him and take his free hand in yours. You were shaking. “Are you gonna be okay?” You nod your head yes. “Good, because we don’t have a ton of time before our meeting.” You chuckle slightly at that. “Still excited to see me?”
“Yes.” You whisper.
“Do you know what’s in this little box?”
“I have an idea.”
“I truthfully never thought I’d be buying another one of these for someone. I…I didn’t think I deserved to have someone love me the way that you do, but I know now that I do. Sometimes I’d wonder why things didn’t work out the way I thought were supposed to, but I realized that everything I went through was just part of my journey to you, Y/N.” You cough out a nervous giggle as you had tears running down your cheeks. “I was trying to think of the perfect moment or place for this, and nothing felt better than the place we first met and became friends. Plus, I knew you’d nearly shit yourself.” He smirks and you shake your head. “So, with all that being said, and may I remind you I don’t care about how long we’re engaged for because I know your doctorate comes first…will you marry me?” He opens the small box and you gasp at the ring. It was stunning, beyond stunning.
“Yes, oh my god, yes!” Your hand was shaking terribly, but he manages to slip the ring on.
He stands up and swings you around in his arms. He slots his mouth over yours, and you almost forget where you are until you hear a bottle pop.
“Woo! Congratulations!” Janette says with a freshly opened bottle of champagne. Lisa, Mateo, Lucas, Andre, and Sandra all come out as well. “You should have seen your face, Y/N.” She chuckles.
“You guys!” You laugh and go to hug your colleagues. “You all knew?”
“All Harry said was that we should wait upstairs and to bring champagne, we just assumed.” Lisa says as she holds out some cups for Janette to pour the champagne in.
“Where’s Andy?” You ask him as you take a sip.
“At Brandon’s.”
“Did he know?”
“What are you, new? Who do you think helped me design the ring?” He smirks and nudge his shoulder. “We’ll celebrate with him tonight when we get back from dinner, there’s an ice cream cake in the freezer just waiting to be eaten.”
You all chat about the excitement before you need to actually go through the things you needed to in your faculty meeting. It was hard to concentrate, though. You wanted to call your parents, your brother, your friends; everyone! Not to mention the ring itself was distracting. You weren’t expecting something quite so…large. Then again, Harry was the gaudy ring type, so it shouldn’t be that surprising that he went all out.
“You two should go home to be with Andy to celebrate.” Lisa says. “We can all go down to the pub another time.”
“No, it’s alright, he’ll probably be annoyed if we pick him up too early from his friend’s.” Harry says.
“I actually wouldn’t mind going home...had a six hour flight earlier, you know?”
“Shit, you’re right. No one minds waiting a few days?”
“Not at all.” Janette says. “Let’s just all meet up Friday, it’ll be more fun.”
You drive separately back to the house, and Harry helps you get your things inside. You wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him. You suck on his bottom lip and he moans into you.
“This is why you wanted to come back, huh?” He smirks.
“You’re not the only one that’s good at being sneaky.”
You couldn’t feel luckier than you do now, to be engaged to the absolute love of your life.

I had such a fun day yesterday. I went out for brunch in the morning with my church group ladies to the most lovely village cafe. I took baby and toddler with me (H and d2 took Sibling) and they were so good and entertained by two older girls. I had Eggs Royale which is always my go to brunch order 👌
In the afternoon, my friend was having fizz and cake to celebrate her 50th birthday. So I went drinking Prosecco all afternoon and catching up with my TSG mums. What a marvellous way to spend an afternoon! Day drinking always a win for me 🥂
Came home from that to find the family ordering takeaway pizza for tea, but then I fell asleep putting the baby to bed. Woke up 2 hours later to eat my pizza and then sat incapable of doing anything useful for the rest of the evening (a shame because I had things I needed to do!), but apart from that bit it was all wonderful and felt very decadent. It doesn’t take much to make me happy 😊

------------------------------------------------------
Quidditch was your favourite activity. You’d loved it since you were just a little kid, watching from the stands as men and women flew around a stadium playing the most wonderful game you’d ever come to know. You spent most of your childhood begging your parents, day and night to teach you how to fly, knowing they couldn’t say no to you forever. For your ninth birthday they bought you your first broom and it was one of the happiest moments of your life.
“Happy birthday dear y/n, happy birthday to you.” Your family and friends finish your birthday song. You flash a toothy grin before closing your eyes, making a wish and blowing out the nine bright flames on your cake. Your mum retrieves a knife and begins to slice the cake as you and your friends begin to chat.
Your dad walks up to you, holding something behind his back. He kneels down to your level, “y/n sweetie, your mum and I have thought about it, and we believe it’s about time we gave you this.” He smiles, handing you a long object hidden in silver wrapping paper. You look down at the object confused, but when you wrap your small fingers around it, you immediately know. Your eyes widen and you rip off the paper. You were right, in your hands was a beautiful, sleek broom. “It’s a bit big for you, but you’ll grow into it.” Your mom laughs, coming in behind you and wrapping an arm around your shoulders. You don’t hesitate to bring her and your father into a hug, thanking them over and over again for your gift. Happy tears spilling from your e/c eyes.
When you received your letter to Hogwarts in the coming years you made it your goal to become the captain of the quidditch team of whatever house you were sorted into. In two years, your parents had taught you all their tips and tricks for navigating on your broom. You picked up quickly and worked hard to add to the talent you already had. When you arrived at Hogwarts, bright eyed and excited to learn, you were sorted into hufflepuff, the house of the loyal and hard-working. You found this a good fit, you got started right away for a good reputation and waited patiently for second year, when you could finally try out.
When the fateful day rolled around you were one of the first people on the pitch for try-outs, the captain being the only other person there, she found your enthusiasm adorable and quickly became like the older-sister you never had. As the try-outs began, she was skeptical with your skill as you were only in your second year, but she learned that you were not only enthusiastic about quidditch, but your skills were unmatched. She was quick to make you a chaser, your fast skills and sleek tricks making you the perfect candidate. You helped the team to the best of your abilities not only playing well and helping them to victory, but also having a cheery personality, making friends with all the players and comforting the team after losses. You became the hufflepuff quidditch team’s darling. Your happy personality and love for quidditch made it impossible for anyone not to be drawn to you, but, you guessed it, there was a catch. The happiest people still have a reason to frown and your reason was Oliver Wood.
He’d been your first crush at Hogwarts. You first saw him at a gryffindor vs slytherin match, a keeper and a mighty good one. He was so fast and had incredible skill, you couldn’t help but catch feelings for the handsome brunette. You decided you wanted to talk to him.
It was hard since you were in different houses and different years, but you tried. Before a match against gryffindor one day, you caught up with a couple of your pals, Fred and George Weasley, to ask them about Oliver. “Hey Fred, Hey George!” You called out to them while they made their way to the changerooms. “Hey y/n, what brings you over here?” Fred smiles over at you. “Just wanted to wish good luck to my favourite twins of course, you’ll need it.” You laugh, reaching up to rustle their short red hair. The twins laugh. “There’s something else I can tell.” George narrows his eyes at you and you grin a bit. “Okay you got me. There is something.” Fred nods for you to go on. “Can you tell me a bit about Oliver?” The twins look to each other, sharing a similar cringe on their faces. “Oliver? As in Oliver Wood,” Fred questions. You nod. “You don’t fancy him do you y/n?” George asks, cocking an eyebrow. “I might think he’s cute.” You grin sheepishly. “Listen y/n.” George rubs the back of his neck. “Oliver’s a great lad, but he’s not someone I’d try and have a relationship with, at least not right now.” He concludes. You look at him confused. “Well he is two years older than us and he’s a bit… Intense.” Fred finishes for him. Right as you open your mouth to ask for details, the man himself Oliver Wood comes marching through the change room doors and looks at the twins. “What are you two doing out here talking to our rival? Come on they’re about to talk strategy and I wouldn't’ want a stupid hufflepuff hearing it.” He spits the word hufflepuff out like it was poison.
You feel your confidence falter and tears prick your eyes. “Come on now Oliver, she’s our friend, no need to get aggressive.” Fred tries to reason with Oliver, noticing the sadness on your face. Oliver simply rolls his eyes and steps back inside, shouting a quick hurry up. The twins look at you apologetically, you wave them off and start to walk to your own team's changeroom, disappointment written on your face.
Even after hufflepuff won the match, you didn’t feel like celebrating, as soon as your seeker caught the snitch you were ecstatic but, Oliver had walked past you on your way out of the pitch, muttering ‘stupid hufflepuff, I’ll bet she was listening to us.’ That cut deep, leaving a permanent frown on your face even while the rest of your house partied.
You were now in your fifth year and had been appointed captain of the hufflepuff team, after most of your teammates graduated, and you were overjoyed. You’d spent the whole summer thinking up strategies and new tactics and now you would be able to try them out. Throughout the school your friends had given you pats on the back and congratulations, they knew you’d been working on this since you stepped in the Hogwarts walls, and they were happy for you. Oliver on the other hand acted as though he was furious you’d achieved your goal. You had lost feelings for the keeper over summer but he continued with the constant ridiculing ever since that game all those years ago, calling you fake, not even that good, or just saying outright untrue things about you to anyone who would listen, and even though you didn’t fancy him anymore the comments still cut deep. It brought sadness to you every time you heard he’d mock you. You used to cry over these things, but you learned to build a wall to protect yourself from Oliver’s judgement. It was his last year anyways. You wouldn’t have to deal with his bullying any longer.
“I heard y/n shagged the last captain to get the position she’s in now, what a whore.” You hear a voice whisper, Oliver. You sigh. It was going to be a long year.
Practice with your new team was fun, making sure the new members felt welcome and running over old strategies with ones who’d been on the team in previous years. You were having a blast with everyone, until a voice called out. “Beat it puffs! We’ve got the pitch today.”
You sigh, apologizing to Cedric who you were conversing with and flying down to meet the angry gryffindor.
“I’m sorry Oliver, but I got the pitch booked with Sprout yesterday.” You pull out the slip of parchment residing in your pocket. “Doesn’t matter, I’ve got new players too y’know.” He scoffs his thick Scottish accent rolling off his tongue. “We’ve only just started, listen if you can give me an ho-” Oliver rolls his eyes and cuts you off. “I don’t care l/n, I don’t listen to little fakers who buy their way into positions and shag their way into captain.” He remarks, looking bored. Blood rushes to your face in anger and sadness. You drop your broom as your hand goes limp, your head hung down, not wanting him to see your tears. “What’s wrong l/n, you gonna cry?”
Cedric touches down and tries to pull you away, but you’re frozen trying to blink the tears out of your eyes.
“Oliver that’s enough.” Fred pushes his way to the front and puts his hand on Oliver’s shoulder. The gryffindor captain rolls his eyes. “Why are you defending the slut? You know I’m not wrong, she doesn’t deserve anything she has now.” He laughs a little.
You feel yourself burst.
“What the hell did I do to you?!” You lift your face and scream, letting the tears of anger and sadness slip down your face. “What did I do, that was so bad, so terrible, that made you want to bully me since I was twelve?!” You march closer to him, letting him see the pain he caused you. “I’ve barely spoken to you once and you built up this, this hate for me. Calling me fake, a slut, that I don’t deserve what I have. Do you know how hard I’ve worked for all this? Practicing daily, keeping up with school work, getting injured and hurt in games AND dealing with your ridiculing?!” You shout, letting years of anger be expressed, you see a flash of regret in the seventh year's eyes, but you couldn’t care less. “I wanted to be your friend Oliver, but without getting to know me you spread rumors about me, call me names, and you don’t care! I’m sick of being quiet about it, why can’t you just leave me alone!?” You finish. Oliver is stunned to silence letting your words sink in. You were right, he knew that, he never did get to know you. He just didn’t know how else to deal with the weird emotion he got when he saw you or the way his stomach burst into butterflies when he heard you laugh. So he shoved his emotions to the side and tried to convince himself you were this horrible person in order get rid of the feeling, but it never worked, so he continued, always hoping you’d brush it off and move on, but here he was standing shocked in front of you as tears ran down your red cheeks. He realized then that the feeling inside him was love, but it was far, far too late. You ran, ran away from him, any hope he was a good person and the idea that the two of you could be together one day. You ran from the toxicity of the way Oliver treated you and you ran from being hurt anymore.
“You’re a piece of shit, you know that Wood. Y/n has done nothing to you and you treat her like the scum at the bottom of your shoe, I hope you’re happy with yourself.” Cedric shouts at the shocked gryffindor. The sixth year hufflepuff had watched you pine over Oliver since he was in his third year. He had a massive crush on you, but could never say anything in fear he’d ruin your friendship. He’d watched Oliver mistreat you for years, and watched as you held onto the hope he’d change, but Oliver had gone to the last straw and he couldn’t hold back his feelings anymore. He calls down the rest of the team and turns back to the gryffindors. “Enjoy the pitch.” Cedric says sarcastically to Oliver, patting him on the shoulder with a menacing smile, before turning and running after you.
The rest of the team didn’t feel like playing anymore. Feeling sick to their stomachs after this encounter. Oliver turns around, but no one will look him in the eyes. Even the twin’s usual happy demeanor is gone and they’re glaring daggers into Oliver. “You fucked up, you know that right? You know, y/n had a crush on you since the second year, but your egotistical ass couldn't see how great of a person she is and instead ruined any chances of ever being with her, can’t believe she’d see something in someone like you.” Fred seethed, no one talked to his friends like that. He and George storm away and the rest of the team turn and follow, throwing disapproving looks at Oliver. Fred was right. You were right. He was the biggest idiot in the world, and now he’d have to deal with the consequences.
Cedric found you running into an empty girls washroom, he didn’t want to intrude, but he knew it was empty, and he knew you needed help. He steps inside and doesn’t hesitate to run to you and wrap you into his arms. You hug back and sob into Cedric’s shoulder. “W-what did I do w-wrong?” You sniffle and cry into his quidditch robes. “Nothing love, nothing. He’s an arsehole and doesn’t deserve you. He’s an idiot, walking around with a broomstick up his ass.” he smiles when he hears a small giggle from you. “You’re right Ced, he does look like he’s got a stick up his ass when he walks.” You stop crying to laugh a bit, wrapping your arms tighter around Cedric’s torso.
“Listen, you're perfect darling, and if he can’t see it, I know I can.” Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Cedric takes a deep breath before continuing. “I know this isn’t the best time, but Merlin y/n, I’ve fancied you since the day I saw you do quidditch try-outs, zipping around like a pro on your broom, showing up everyone else on that pitch,” he sighs. “I saw you fall in love with Wood, pine over him even though he treats you like trash and push off his comments about you. Y/n, you’re so strong, so kind, so beautiful, so smart. Don’t let someone like Oliver get you down. He’ll never be worth it.” He finishes, gliding his thumb up and down your face. You blush. “Thank you Cedric, but I don’t know if I’m ready yet.” You sniffle, looking guilty. Cedric smiles. “I’ll wait for you darling, no matter how long it takes. I’ll be here with arms wide open.” He holds you tighter, kissing the top of your head. You smile. “Thank you Cedric, so much. I will come around I promise.” You sniffle before laughing into his shoulder.
You knew then that you found the person you were really supposed to be with for the rest of your life. Cedric brought smiles to your face, while Oliver brought tears. Cedric admired your skills and knowledge, while Oliver doubted them. Cedric made you feel happy, supported, smart, beautiful. Things Oliver could never, and you realized. Sometimes it’s better to let go, than to hold on.
Oliver watched from the side as you fell in love with Cedric. Watched as the hufflepuff golden boy walked you to class, sat with you at lunch, hugged you after games and supported your dreams. Oliver did his best to move on, but was reminded daily of what he lost. Fred and George never looked at him the same, he saw you smile and laugh with Cedric by your side. That should be him, he thinks to himself a lot. If he had been kind, talked to you, got to know you. Maybe he would be the man you hugged, kissed, loved. The man who was by your side. He lost his chance and all he could do now was watch as you fell in love with someone new.
Cedric Diggory had filled the hole in your heart Oliver had left. He showed you what real love felt like and showed you how you should be treated, and in the end, you did come around. After Cedric had caught the snitch in a match against slytherin you flew up to him, grabbed his shirt and tugged him towards you, letting your lips crash against his for everyone to see. It only lasted a couple seconds, but it warmed you to the core, sealing the realization Cedric was the one for you, it brought a smile across your face. “Did I do it?” Cedric’s grin grows impossibly wide as he takes your hand in his. He just won the match and the girl of his dreams! He had to be imagining things. “You did.” You confirm, squeezing his calloused fingers. Cedric laughs and whoops in celebration, pulling you around the pitch in a victory lap, holding your hand for all to witness before the two of you touched down. Cedric brings you in for another kiss, and the spectators roars in excitement. The brunette smiles into your lips, and as you pull away you whisper into his ear. “Thank you Cedric, for showing me true love.”
And all Oliver could do was regret

Chapter 3: A Little Party Never Killed Nobody
Word: 3.6K
“Haz are you okay mate?” Tom asked, seeing Haz freak out, they were about to land at Heathrow, on their way back from Dublin.
“No, I just heard from my neighbor that Henry never came home last night. With everything that happened yesterday, I’m just worried. I hope he is not lying in a ditch somewhere.” Harrison explained.
“He probably crashed at ours, everything will be ok.” You said as you comforted Haz. Oh boy, were you wrong.
Back at home, Parker awoke to his impending death once you and Tom, his parents’, find out what happened to their beautiful mansion. One party did all this damage. The curtains were torn down, there was red party cups everywhere and all the liquor bottles were displayed on the table. One amazingly epic party did all that.
“Bloody hell! That’s it I’m dead. I’m dead. I will never be allowed to leave this house ever again.” Parker said to himself. Picking up his phone he noticed 4 missed calls from you. Each one had a message and if there was one thing he knew about you is that you only left more harsh and frantic voice messages the more you called.
He only played the most recent one, you sounded really peeved “PARKER JACKSON HOLLAND! Please call me, I’m worried about you. I can’t get in touch with the staff either. I will be home in 20 mins, you better have a good fucking explanation for everything.” Parker’s eyes nearly flew out of his head when he saw that was sent 15 mins ago. Any moment now he would hear the Rolls pulling into the driveway.
The poor kid could only move so fast, he quickly gathered the liquor bottles and threw them into a plastic trash bag along with all the red solo cups that seem to be multiplying. All the meanwhile corralling all the squatters, from last night, who crashed there. He found some people by the pool and others passed out in the dining room. Running like a madman through the house, he caught a glimpse of what would be the reason for his demise. The door to Tom’s office was open. He swore to god he locked it, someone must’ve broken in. They could’ve taken anything, all the information about the mob was stored in that one tastefully decorated room. Parker quickly shut the door and hoped nothing would happen, he couldn’t live with himself if this one stupid party cost his family their livelihood.
“Rosie? Henry? Where are you guys? Mum and dad will be home any minute, I need your help.” Parker called out throughout the house. He didn’t expect Rosie to show up because of their fight last night, but where the fuck was Henry.
You and Tom pulled up along with Harrison in the black Rolls Royce, coming to a screeching halt. You all walked along the cobble stone path to the two large, intimidating front doors. You all simultaneously freaked out when you saw the door was ajar. Tom and Haz pulled out their guns and made it a priority to keep you safe by shoving you behind them. You all had no idea what you could be walking into.
Tom whispered to Haz to split up, Haz took the East Wing while Tom checked the main rooms. Rounding the corner he could her footsteps.
“Darling, stay behind me. I don’t want you getting hurt,” Tom whispered and you nodded in response.
“On the count of 3. 1, 2, 3,” Tom screamed as he jumped out, holding his gun straight ahead. He found his son disheveled, carrying grocery bags filled with empty beer cans and liquor bottles.
“DON’T SHOOT! DON’T SHOOT! Holy fuck! Dad is that you?” Parker screamed, dropping the bags to the ground, glass shattering and raising his hand up in innocence. Scared for his life her quickly caught his breath when he realized who it was.
“Parker, what the hell? Why the fuck was the door opened…. wait? Did you have a party!?!” Tom thundered as he realized what his son did. His voice gradually growing more furious. Parker just stood there with a shameful look on his face.
“Mum, dad. How was Dublin?” Parker sneaked to quickly change the subject.
“Don’t try to get out this, explain now!” You scolded, just as furious as Tom
“I’m sorry. I don’t know why I did it, I just needed to blow off steam.” “What the fuck do you think a sorry is going to do? I run a fucking mob, Parker. Are you a fucking idiot? Parker, for fucks sake, anyone could have stolen some information from my office or gotten into the gun room. What the fuck were you thinking?”
“I’m not that much of a div, I locked your office and I don’t know,” Parker explained.
“You’re not as dumb as I thought. Hope you were smart enough to lock the liquor cellar too,” Tom concluded.
“Yeah…about that,” Parker mumbled as Tom ran off to his liquor room. A loud clash and curse sounded throughout the house when he laid his eyes on his ransacked priceless collection.
“Mum, say something?” Parker pleaded with you as you just stood there in silence.
“2 months. You’re grounded for 2 months. No dates or parties, just school and home. I don’t think you understand how lucky you are that nothing serious happened here.” You said, your voice drenched with disappointment. “I know, I’m sorry. I’ve been thinking about what dad and you asked me and —” Parker whispered as he was soon cut off by Haz walking in.
“Did you find Henry?” Haz interrupted.
“No, I’m going to check upstairs. Will you check on Tom?” Harrison nodded as you ascended the staircase. Making your way through the halls, coming upon Rosie’s room.
“Roo, honey you awake?” You said walking into Rosie’s room
“AHHHH! Oh my fucking god! Rosie!” You screamed at the sight in front of you. Your sweet, slightly bad tempered daughter asleep with a boy in her bed.
“Darling? You alright?” Tom yelled from downstairs after hearing your scream.
“Mum, what are you doing here?” Rosie exclaimed frantically.
“Hi, Y/N.” Henry whispered, praying he wasn’t going to be berated. You were a mother figure to him after his own mother left his father and never looked back. “This is my house and hi Henry. What the fuck is Henry doing here in you bed? What the fuck are you doing here?” You questioned bouncing between the two of them to get some answers.
“I can explain. But, firstly are you gonna tell dad?” Rosie inquired.
“The fact that he is already fuming downstairs, no. Not right now. And please explain, you have 5 seconds, but first you need to get Henry out of here.”
“Thank you mom, I just don’t —.“
“Ehh, eh, eh! Shut it, I’ll deal with you later,” you barked.
“Henry, I suggest you take the window and your dad is looking for you,” you said.
“Shit! Thanks Y/N… I mean Mrs. Holland” Henry said as you shot him a glare.
The moment Henry was in the clear, Tom barged in with his gun in hand. Someone needs to tell this man to put it down. All morning he has been traumatically scarring his kids for life, first with Parker and now Rosie.
“What? Is everyone all right? I heard a scream.” Tom exclaimed out of breath.
“Umm, yeah. I just saw a spider.” You stuttered.
“Oh love, you can kill a man in cold blood but can’t handle an itty bitty spider,” Tom joked as he pressed a chaste kiss to your forehead.
“You're afraid of them too, Thomas.” You quipped with a side eye. If looks could kill, yours definitely would.
“And for you missy, you’re grounded along with your brother.” Tom said, looking down on Rosie. “Me? What did I do?” Rosie asked in a high pitched voice. “You attended this party correct? And since this is also your house, you threw it by association. Am I right?” Tom inquired.
“I guess so,” Rosie huffed.
The twin’s exile was worse than they prepared for. Not only were they responsible for cleaning up the entire mess but they were given a list of chores to complete. This was no ordinary list. It was devised by you and Tom along with inputs from the maids and capos.
On it read:
Wash the Rolls
Clean the guns
Reorganize the pantry
Mow the lawn
Re-order all stolen liquor and stock the liquor room
Drain the pool, clean the pool, fill the pool back up again…
The list was never-ending. Each task more pointless than the next. It went on forever. The household staff was happy for their load was to be lessen for a couple weeks, unlike the kids. Harrison even forced Henry to partake in the chores.
The kids were only a couple days into their quarantine and were already going stir crazy. Parker was having withdrawals from Charlotte, missing her even more. The boy was whipped for her, really smitten. They would talk the night away. Some nights never getting any shut eye as their conversations would prolong hours.
Parker couldn’t believe this was where he was now. One night of unadulterated juvenile fun equated to 2 months of misery. Today was Charlotte’s birthday and he was supposed to take her to the London Eye on a surprise birthday trip, but all his plans were ruined the moment his parents came home and grounded his sorry ass.
“I can’t believe your parents grounded you. Assholes.” Charlotte said over the phone, fuming he couldn’t celebrate with her.
“I can’t go babe. I really wish I could but I’m grounded for life remember.” Parker said, the cold shoulder Tom and you had been giving him was killing him.
“Parker its my birthday. You have to come,” Charlotte pleaded
“There’s no chance in hell I’m allowed to leave.”
“Geez you just threw a party, it’s not like you killed someone,” Charlotte added. He might as well have. If he killed someone he wouldn’t be burdened with this punishment, probably praised instead, carrying on the family tradition.
“Just sneak out. Come on, we are all going to this nightclub downtown. It’s gonna be awesome. And I’m such a good girlfriend, I can’t let you miss it.” Charlotte pleaded.
“Alright, Char you wore me down.”
“I knew it. Pick you up at 11 tonight.”
“Park around the block, I’m going to have to climb out my window. Remember my house is like a fortress.” Parker said. He wasn’t lying.
Meanwhile, Tom was in and out of meetings in his office all day. He received one odd phone call in particular from his dad, Dominic Holland. “Hi dad, how are you” Tom said as he picked up the phone.
“I’m fine son, so how did the talk with Parker go. I’m excited to teach him all my mobster tricks,” Dom exclaimed. “Actually dad, he reacted like I did.”
“Oh well, he will come around just like you did” Dom said encouragingly.
“I don’t know if he will. Anyway it wouldn’t be so bad if he had his own path in life.” Tom murmured trying to stick up for his son’s decision.
“Tom, you know what will happen to this family if that happens,” Dom yelled.
“I know dad. I just don’t want him to feel trapped, like you did to me,” Tom exclaimed growing more annoyed by the minute.
“What I did to you got you to where you are today. Your life is thanks to me son and don’t you forget it,” Dom said with a stern, menacing voice.
“Understood sir,” Tom quipped. “Maybe Parker needs a push, in the right direction.” “Dad, I swear to god, don’t fucking do anything. Y/N and I are handling this” Tom yelled. “We’ll see how that turns out” Dom ended the phone call. Leaving Tom frustrated that his father sees him as his own puppet.
The night soon fell and Parker’s plan had been put into motion. He bribed a few of the Tom’s men with his allowance to let him sneak past. He jumped out the window, carefully walked on the roof as to not slip and make any noise. Finally on the ground, he scaled the iron fence to be met with Charlotte’s ice blue eyes. She was dressed in a pink party dress that hugged her figure perfectly.
“Wow princess, you look *chef’s kiss. Happy birthday baby,” Parker said while making his way back to the ground.
“Thanks doll. Now come on, before someone catches us,” she yelled whilst hopping into her silver Mercedes.
Arriving at the nightclub, everything was in full swing for 11 o’clock at night. Parker, Charlotte and her other friends were treated like royalty the moment Parker let his name slip.
“Right this way Mr. Holland and I will have someone bring you a bottle of champagne, on the house of course,” the hostess said as she sat them at their table.
“Oooo fancy, you should drop your name more often,” Charlotte whispered in Parker’s ear.
“Oh it was nothing, love.” Parker said while pouring himself and Charlotte a glass of bubbly. “Seriously Parker, how’d you do this? If I didn’t know any better I’d say your dad owned the club or something,” Charlotte said dumbfounded, causing Parker to choke on his champagne at her remark.
It was amazing what power could do. Having enough power to make your enemies disappear was unimaginable. Parker knew what turning down his father meant. He would have the name and the look of a Holland, but he wouldn’t be one anymore.
How could he give all that up. He enjoyed his cushy lifestyle. Sure it was day after day of worrying about your image but, he felt as though he belonged in that world. How could he go on being a kid for two more years knowing there was a metaphorical expiration date on his life.
He desperately wanted to want to be like them, his family. You, his mother, are the strongest person he knows. Having you in his life keeps him grounded, literally at the moment. Also his dad, Tom is a very loving and amazing father. He was there at all the football games (English football) cheering him on and at the spelling bees, also when he felt his first heartbreak, Tom was there.
Family has been the one constant in his life. Now it was being eclipsed by power, a power that could ruin lives or affect change. Turning his back on his family means they would never get see his future.
No one would be there at his graduation from college or when he first child was born, only Charlotte would be there. The girl he hoped to marry and have his kids. He couldn’t give up his future with her, no way. Parker eyes glanced at her, mesmerized by her beauty. He thought to himself, “This was it. This, she is all I’ll ever need, my princess.”
Most of Parker’s pet names for Charlotte were derived from Tom. He had heard his dad refer to his mother as: princess, queen, doll, darling, love. The list goes on. As long as Parker had his princess he knew he would be ok.
They danced the night away. Song after song. Feeling like the only two people in the room. Getting more drunk as the night progressed and other guests started to fizzle out. Leaving Charlotte and Parker alone on the dance floor.
“Char, I think it’s about time we head home. We are the only people left,”
Parker chuckled.
“Just two more songs please,” she muttered with her head nuzzled by his neck.
“It’s two hours til sunrise!” Parker exclaimed.
“Just a little while longer, I don’t want this moment to end.” “Me neither baby, I want to stay in your arms forever” Parker said. In a moment of love, coupled with champagne and a few tequila shots, Parker whispered, “We should get married.”
“What? Are you serious? Do you mean now or in like 5 years?” Charlotte asked as her voice slowly diminished
“Umm… yes and now. I love you,” Parker murmured. “YES! I will marry you!” Charlotte exclaimed pulling her boyfriend into a deep, passionate kiss. Parker’s dream was coming true and all he had to do was leave his family.
Just then a group of tall, stocky men, all dressed in black, funneled through the door of the club. They didn’t bother with sitting down, they just stood there blocking the only exit.
One of the men spoke up, “Parker Holland? I have a message for you.”
“Can’t it wait til morning, just tell him I’m sorry and he can ground me even longer,” Parker replied thinking the message was from Tom.
“It’s not that kind of message,” all the noise drifted away as the other man drew his gun. Both Charlotte and Parker grew tense at the sight of his pistol.
“Charlotte, get behind me,” Parker whispered, scared for both their lives.
“Boy, it’s not from your daddy,” said the leader of the men. “Do you know who my father is? He will have all of your heads if you so as much lay a finger on me,” Parker responded
“So the girl is up for grabs?” “Charlotte, RUN!” Parker Screamed
“Eh, not so fast. I’m going to enjoy this one.” The guy said, seizing Charlotte in his grip and motioning for this associates to grab Parker. Two arms holding Parker back from protecting Charlotte.
“LET GO OF ME! CHARLOTTE!”
“Why you hanging out this rift raft? I’m sorry but he needs to atone for his mistakes.” “Parker..” Charlotte whimpered.
“Such a pretty girl and such a waste” the man snickered as he pressed the gun into her abdomen. Tears slipped down her face as she felt the cool metal against her.
BANG
It was the shot heard round the room. Everything stood quiet as Charlotte collapsed to the floor. The leader of the men shouted he need a drink. “NOOOOO! ” Parker screamed as he was let go and raced to Charlotte’s side
“Hey, hey, baby look at me. Look at me,” Parker said as tears flooded down his face.
“I’m sorry, we should’ve left.” Charlotte whispered with labored breaths while blood poured out of her wound. “Baby, you have nothing to be sorry for.” Parker cried while rubbing his thumb on her cheek. Blood pooled around them and he could only be focused on one thing, the love of his life dying in his arms. “Parker, it hurts so much,” Charlotte cried. The pain was mind-numbing. Threatening the life inside her.
“I know, love. Just keep your eyes on me love, keep’em open”
“I’m so tired Parker… I want my last words to you to be I love you. I love you ok? So much.” she whispered, then broke into a coughing fit. Blood filling her mouth and running down her chin, scaring Parker.
“Don’t, don’t fucking start that now you, hear me. You’re gonna be fine, we’re gonna get married and have kids and grow old together,” Parker exclaimed as her eyes threatened to shut.
“You said yes, Char. You have to be okay. You said yes. I asked you to marry me and you said yes.” Parker cried as tears refused to stop coming. Charlotte’s eyes growing more and more to a close.
“Please, don’t leave me baby. Charlotte don’t leave me. Don’t fucking close your eyes. You hear me. Don’t.” And with that, the hand Parker held so close to his heart was limp. Her eyes had closed and heart stopped beating. She was gone.
“No! No, no no, hey hey hey, come on, come on baby stay with me. Stay with me please.”
“Wake up, darling. Please. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Just come back to me baby. , I need you,” Parker whimpered. He burst into a fit of sobs and hugged her close to his body, not wanting to let her go because then it all became real.
The woman who changed his life, no longer walked this earth. The love of his life was gone. All the bubbling life inside of her, vanished like it had never existed in the first place. Parker’s demeanor flipped like a switch. His sadness became infused with anger, he was out for blood.
“You bastards! Why did you do that? She had nothing to do with this?” Parker thundered as blood coated his knuckles. “I’m sorry kid, but it had to be done” The leader spoke.
In a fit of rage, Parker grabbed the empty champagne bottle and smashed it over one of the guy’s heads, knocking the muscular guy unconscious.
“Big mistake, kid. Thought you were smarter than that.” The leader said as he stood in front of Parker and delivered him a swift punch to the jaw, flooring Parker.
“She really wasn’t enough of a message? Want her death to be in vain?” He spat as he kicked Parker in the stomach.
Several kicks followed, two more to the stomach, one to the groin and one final blow to the head, demobilizing Parker. He laid on the ground coughing up blood, trying to gather enough strength to get home.
He looked once more over to the girl he had loved, lifeless with a whole in stomach, knowing if it weren’t for him she would still be alive. Charlotte was the only thing on his mind as he succumbed to all the pain and everything faded to darkness.
