does the terraria psychonauts crossover have a plot?

Yes! It's a little bare bones/not every aspect and detail is fully developed, but the basic gist of it is the party slowly spawning into the world and following basic game progression, with the ultimate goal of defeating Moonlord so they can go home.

Ramblings got a little long so I'm slapping it under a cut:

Dion and Morris spawn in the world. They take a while to get their bearings and start to establish a place for themselves, bickering all the while. They find out about the respawn function on the first night. It's not pleasant.

Morris figures out that his book allows him to research any crafting recipe, alongside offering the occasional hint on how to progress. He and Dion work together to build a little house and collect resources.

Adam spawns in, with just as little idea as to what's going on as the other two. He's subjected to Morris & Dion's constant bickering for the next few days before Sam spawns in. She accidentally destroys their base with explosives within hours of arriving.

Shenanigans continue to ensue as the group slowly explores the world and its mechanics. They step foot into the Corruption for the first time.

Adam and Morris have to clear out the graveyard biome that has manifested around spawn. They set all the grave markers in a chest for later.

Eye of Cthulhu spawns naturally. The group fails to defeat it. They spawn the Eye manually a few nights later, and manage to defeat it! Norma spawns the next morning and gets four very different explanations of what's going on. She would like to go home now, please.

Actual NPCs such as the Painter, Nurse, Arms Dealer, and Dye Trader spawn in.

A slime rain happens. Norma would like to be home now. Sam gets a Slimy Saddle from the King Slime.

Dion accidentally manages to grapple onto the head of the Eater of Worlds during the group's first encounter with it, resulting in him getting flung into the sky and onto one of the sky islands.

The Goblin Army invades! The group finds the Tinkerer a few days later. Morris buys rocket boots he doesn't intend to use because they made him think of Gisu.

The group slowly manages to collect more resources and defeat more bosses. Eater of Worlds goes down, as does the Brain of Cthulhu. Norma and Adam explore the Dungeon and find Gisu shortly after Skeletron is defeated.

The first Blood Moon happens that night.

Sam bugs the Zoologist from the moment she spawns in.

Sam's summons unintentionally destroy the larva in every hive the group finds. It isn't until the fifth that they actually manage to beat Queen Bee. Lizzie spawns the next morning.

Gisu and Morris make it all the way to the ocean and wake up the Angler.

Adam and Norma work together to create a neat and efficient pylon system for fast travel. Sam and Gisu ignore the fast travel system more than half the time.

Frazie spawns in a few days later. She gets seven different explanations of what's going on and immediately manages to drag Dion into a fight against King Slime, partially on accident ("WHY WOULD YOU USE A SLIME CROWN" "I thought it would summon a minion!")

(Sam was the one who handed the Slime Crown to Frazie. She never admits to this.)

Gisu plays around with wires and traps. She ends up booby-trapping the spawn.

The group manages to dig deep enough to hit the Underworld. The Voodoo Demons are carrying little Morris dolls. This information is not received well by the group.

More shenanigans. Dion and Morris have a stupid little competition over who can do the sickest flip/hit a harpy midair when jumping off of a sky island. Frazie, also being immune to fall damage, joins them. Adam makes personalized rooms for everyone using various materials collected and the paint tool. Sam stocks up on Explosive Bunnies. Gisu and Norma and Lizzie all stock up on Mana Crystals.

Everyone maxes out their hearts.

Frazie & Lizzie get to experience their first Blood Moon.

Gisu, Norma, and Lizzie find an Aether biome while mining. Gisu starts experimenting with transmutations, using pumps to give herself a small pool on the surface to work with. She accidentally shimmers Dion all the way to the Underworld doing this.

Even though they've all died multiple times at this point, nobody's charging ahead to summon the Wall of Flesh. They're masters of this world as it is—are they really willing to sacrifice one of their own just to progress?

Eventually, the need to get out of this world and go home convinces the group to go through with it. They gear up and prepare as much as they can.

Morris drops the doll. He dies, and the fight begins.

The ancient spirits of light and dark have been released!

Hehehehe alien Lunar rambling time >:) including art for visuals

(note: this is just my interpretation/au of the “lunar is technically an alien” thing and it’s very self-indulgent, as all the stuff I create usually is also this may or may not end up becoming canon to the Icarus au, we’ll see)

So starting off, Lunar has a lot of features that are indicators of him being an alien/star-hybrid (my interpretation of the stars is also different though I won’t focus on that here-)

These features are (but not limited to):

Lunar, similar to Toothless from httyd, has retractable teeth (his teeth can retract on command into little pockets in his “gums” aka the silicone alternative of gums that he has)

His teeth are also sharper with much more prominent canines

(also yes he has used this ability to scare/surprise kids as well as family before)

This isn’t exactly something entirely specific to him but he also has padded hands and feet and retractable claws

The thing that is more so specific to him though is that he is really good at climbing walls as well as other usually hard to climb places as the pads themselves act as natural suction cups

Lunar and the others are semi-organic (which means they can do things such as properly ingest and digest food and drinks amongst many other things) HOWEVER, Lunar is different in ways than the others

One of these ways being that he doesn’t bleed oil but instead actual blood though it is still of course different from normal human and animal blood

Lunar can be injured much easier than the others due to this though something about his biology allows him to heal quickly, though how long it really takes depends on how severe the wound is

Lunar also has a form that is much more alien-like though they often don’t use it as they’re still getting used to it (the most they use it is during training as its easier to use their abilities then)

This other form gives them other physical traits such as soft and squishy feelers/nubs around their head and along their body that are very sensitive to changes in the air and vibrations as well as touch (he is able to pick up the faintest of sounds and movements using them so it can be very overwhelming)

Being semi-organic also comes with other abilities (both for Lunar and the others): giving them equipment like tongues as well as other things

This means that any of the cast who are semi-organic are technically able to have kids due to their biology, including Lunar (though due to being part alien their methods are slightly different from the others coughs)

Anyways✨

Along their face and body are star/constellation-like patterns that, while barley visible in the light, glow in the dark/at night

Lunar’s eyes also glow at night and he has amazing night vision (though the ladder is a thing others like Moon and Eclipse possess as well due to coding)

Going back to the patterns; they can technically communicate using them (they just don’t know how to yet-), kind of like how seawings use their bioluminescent markings to communicate in wof, by pulsing and flickering the lights (which Lunar sometimes unintentionally does when they are startled/flustered/upset)

I see Eclipse given four arms all the time so why not Lunar? He’s part of Eclipse’s code after all (and part alien now sooooo 4 arms :) )

Moving onto behavior:

Alien Lunar’s behavior is more feral (ex: growling/hissing and baring his teeth when upset or scared)

He is not a complete wild animal or anything like that but he does possess animal-like behaviors such as the one listed above and more (he can get really feral though when he’s super upset or scared or just experiencing other really high emotions)

Other behaviors include:

Zoomies when super excited or happy

Kneading like a cat when sleepy

Other vocalizations like purring (which is more like a rumbly whirr than an actual purr but still) and clicking/chirping and cooing like a dove/pigeon

Lunar tries not to let things like that slip much though they still do and they get embarrassed by it (again they’re still very much getting used to everything)

That’s all I have rn, again this is very self-indulgent and also I’m going into depth about a lot of stuff and being detailed (even with the more “below deck” stuff if you know what I mean even though can’t really say much about that here coughs) cuz I like doing that when creating any kind of biology for species/character stuff, it’s fun and helps build an interesting and complex thing I think

Could you talk about your infection au? I'm invested in it and I've been thinking about it all day

YES HULLO !! i dont want to spoil anything too much and im also working on a field guide sort of thing for the different stages of infection so im gonna try not to talk about those rite neow BUT im so glad that people r enjoying it! so id been seeing these scary mlp infection things ALLL over my tik tok feed for weeks and i was like .. yanno .. itd be really silly if i made this wof .. so i spent like 3 days mulling over what i could make the infection actually BE and i almost made it like the icewing plague but like it went scary but i didnt really know how to keep going with that so then i came up with a super smart idea which turned into this😋i dont wanna say where it started yet cuz ermm lore stuff but i will say that liek in the story the infection doesnt officially have a name yet so everyones just calling it like. the sickness at jade mountain. most of the infected originated IN jade mountain with the first symptoms being noticed in moon and turtle respectively, and then with the icewing students. i cant tell you guys how they got sick bc again . lore ..... but i think that its like kinda possible to find out. but i dunno. vulture and fierceteeth are also sick. there is ONE singular factor that unites these 4 + icewings, which miight b the reason WHY they got sick.kinkajou technically SHOULD be sick but she isnt for another reason that i cant say but if you really look into wof lore then i think u can figure it out idk. the infections transmitted via saliva/blood transmission, so mainly bites. tail barbs of infected sandwings are capable of spreading the sickness. there are 4 stages (5 if you count death) and it takes around 3 to 3.5 weeks for all stages to finish,, by ep3 the sickness has been around for ~2.5 weeks. the only KNOWN cure is amputation of wherever the infected area is,, so MUCH easier in early stages, unfortunate if its on an inconvenient spot, and impossible after hives start spreading. obvi flame had to be important bc i heart flame and i was like .. wait .. hes a healer in canon ...... so that worked out perfectly !! ik that in canon liana is like one of glorys MANY bodyguards but idc shes a healer here bc ermm i said so . also liana and mango r dating but i dont think that its relevant to the plot theyre just girlfriends in my head . as of right now kinkajou and peril are the only known immune dragons, with kinkajou for reasons currently unknown and peril bc . yknow . shes on fire . glory is in close contact with ruby and both kingdoms have taken measures to notify their kingdoms; the rainforest is under a sort of lockdown with rainwings on constant patrol/lookout for outsiders entering, they accept anyone who isnt infected to stay there for refuge while the skywing kingdom is in basically total lockdown other than ruby's messengers. ruby and glory also exchange their respective kingdoms medical knowledge, with the skywings having very good technology and rainwings having an expansive knowledge on medical herbs. nobody has heard from coral- the last thing she did was call for anemone's return back to the kingdom, and once she arrived, they all went underwater and have since then cut all outside contact. the mudwings are aware of the sickness but have so far done nothing about it; moorhen has warned her subjects but thats really it. i havent really decided what the sandwings or the icewings are up to but let me tell you guys its looking really rough for the icewings . so far it looks as though royal icewings are more resilient- tundras currently sick, but the sickness seems to be progressing much slower. this was initially believed to be because of the cold, but then other icewings started getting sick, and so its believed to just be a royal thing- likely something in their genetics. icicle is also sick but shes in stage 4 .. pray for my girl guys. lynx is helping snowfall out the best she can, but with the population getting increasingly sick seemingly spontaneously, its extremely difficult and stressful. the talons have quarantined sanctuary too. ok im outta characters but ya ty 4 the support!!

The adult watching the eggs is just like 😦 as they watch the second hatched dragonet get dragged out of their egg like they already owe reader money.

Then they hold the reader up away from the eggs when another adult bursts into the nursery demanding to know what's up

The moment they get tiny baby Reader away from the eggs and check gheif head, they're placing then in a little nest (for nap time or time out is up to you). It's especially funny if Reader is a bigwings, or is a powerful or royal sibling. Amd the adults are all just, trying to figure out how to raise these five, seven, or ten different dragon babies, with little to no clue on how to raise children. So expect a few learning curbs, panicked adults, and lots of parenting scrolls...

(Reader books their head head into a lot of things, such as the walls, the floor, the adults' legs, their siblings, their siblings' heads, the shelves, etc. . They just can't seem to stop hitting their head, that the adults start to worry about their sight and if Reader has a concussion-)

The dragon's scales glowed and flashed frantically as Percy heard it think, What the f**k?!

Um, excuse me? Percy was surprised at the dragon's response. Usually, sea creatures either greeted him with "my lord"---or if they were hungry and didn't care about Percy's dad being Posiedon---"ooh, dinner!" The dragon's response, though, sounded like shock and confusion.

The dragon's lights flashed some more. You can read my mind?? It said.

I made an AU! In this AU, everything is pretty much the same for the demigods in terms of world, except that WoF dragons are among the monsters they already know. The dragons live in their respective habitats, but on Earth, and they worship the Olympians as their gods. Each tribes likes a particular god or gods more than the others, as one would think, but they all worship all of them.

Each demigod is able to communicate with the dragons of the tribe(s) that their godly parent likes the most. Some dragons and demigods end up being friends :)

quick review I basically replaced the abslutesolver with the breath of evil bc almost 1 to 1 match and all solvers are animi. the last resistance against the HiveWings were thousands of years ago and failed. HW basically demoted silkwings into barely even dragon, a flamesilk managed to get out and burn silkwings out of an animus removal enchantment, silkwing animus appeared and at first they tried to control them by forcing one to make a collar that permanently restricts it but it worked so well they tried to control one out of fear. the boe was ditched years before and the othermind decided to get revenge by taking over discarded silkwings. Cicada was the first, enchanted by an infected animus to be an animus, and all goes similarly. it forced some silkwings into metamorphosis to be these weird hive-night hybrids labeled SwarmWings. animus silks get the special treatment and became silk-nights instead

first one is my idea of heart nori who in this au is onvia. onvia had experimented with growing a part of the BoE to control herself years before her death but was fully infected by the time she was able to use it. instead she only had access to the piece after dying, kind of rebirthed into the mindspace of her own that she had reign over. she eventually grabbed a leafwing corpse to control bc being an unmovable plant is boring. I thought of making it a canon character before I remembered those corpses would've disappeared centuries ago whoops. Also yes she decorated the leafwing with accessories bc why not.

second image is n meeting onvia. also there's solver uzi. incomparison to her silkwing appearance she has a bulkier build and some foresight. also have her learning how to fly with webbed dragon wings (n has no idea what he's doing but is there to catch her so he's doing his best. i actually had planned to have swarmwings have nightwing wings and i might change it to that depending on how much im willing to modify the hivewing base like that.)

tawny, tessa in this au. tawny is the daughter of a lady of a hive and ends up being the remaining hivewing royal after the othermind massacre on the hives. she was crowned at such a young age and thus very stressed and full of guilt. luckily (not) th othermind eventually found tawny to know too much about it to live and after a few times the hivewings stopped some infected silkwings, it just sent one into the throne room and killed her lol. and then wore her body ofc that happens in this au but I'm not gonna go into that until the next sketch :)))).

They're separate dragons in mine, and they're brothers! They're Sand/night hybrids with just a biiit of Skywing heritage (hence Sunny's tail!)

They ended up working for Thorn in the Scorpion Den during the tail end of the war as caretakers, mainly caring for injured and orphaned dragonets.

After the war, they decide to start a daycare/orphanage, considering there were still many displaced dragonets during the war. (Mind you, they're still 17 or so in human years at this time, so probably 6-7 in dragon years and still considered dragonets. Around the same age as the DoD ig idk anymore lol)

I don't have their lore figured out much beyond that though-

(However, I have thought about pulling these two into my Ninjago Multiverse AU. Galaxy, (my sona) is the MC of that au and got dragged to the Pizzaplex to stop the virus via her Portals, and now works there. Sun and Moon have accidentally ended up on two adventures with her (Hunger Games and an MLP infection world). Maybe I'll add a third at some point, and DCA Sun and Moon end up dragons for a while ajdjdhjd)

For that post you just made about your crossover, what kind of dragons will they be? Four-legged, no legs, with or without wings, etc. And, do you by chance have a favorite design at the moment?

So, in Wings of Fire, all of the dragons are four-legged! Some tribes (the equivalent of dog breeds) have 4 wings, but most have 2! Each tribe has different body shapes, color schemes, abilities, and the likes! There's also established cultures within the tribes (i.e. Rainwings being vegetarians, Icewings having strict social hierarchy), but we're not necessarily entirely sticking to the books!

The tribes are; Skywings, Rainwings, Nightwings, Mudwings, Seawings, Icewings, Hivewings, Silkwings, and Leafwings!

HI OKAY so I had this ideaaaaa

first of all, I’ve had plenty of LU crossover ideas with plenty of medias I’ve indulged in- but the biggest one I’ve had the most is wings of fire :D

So I made a design for warriors, and I just wanted to show you bc I think it looks pretty cool (only got the back design done so far)

For some background context- yes ik this is a jumpscare if you don’t know wings of fire, so I’ll explain

wings of fire is a series about.. basically magical dragons. I won’t delve into all of it too far, but there’s basically 7 tribes of different dragons, and they do wacky hijinks like … prophecies and summoning crazy old mythical monsters

anywho, I haven’t worked out all the logistics yet of this au, but I decided to make warriors a sandwing! Basically, sand wings are known for being strong-headed, durable dragons who live in the desert. why did I make warriors a sand wing? Well.. uhhh.. *makes strange hand gestures* he’s blonde?/j

no lol, mostly because I remembered the fact sandwings actually own pet snakes and often dawn them around their neck. Seeing warriors had a scarf I immediately had an idea.

snakes are often sported by higher-class sand wings who can typically afford them, since- no, they do not just grab them out of the sand and go “mine now” 😭

so I thought, warriors is well off… he’s got a blue scarf.. imma give him a snake

so, in this au he’s a general that protects the stronghold, under orders from princess Artemis (hw Zelda) and his snake is actually a blue racer!

these are all just concepts and silly ideas I had lol, sorry if they don’t make sense I’m not the most organized person 😞 but I just wanted to share this idea since I thought: cool character, cool dragons

There’s not much to say about Hopebringer. Contrary to his name, he’s just a hopelessly average Nightwing dragonet.

Born under two full moons that were obscured by clouds, he never developed any powers. Pretty unlucky, huh? And he certainly never had anything he’d consider an “ultimate talent.”

So you can imagine his surprise when he was picked from a continents-wide lottery to attend Hope’s Peak Academy as the Ultimate Lucky Student!

Leaving his parents and younger sister, Believer (Komaru Naegi), to begin his new life, Hopebringer would soon discover that the reason he was brought to Hope’s Peak Academy wasn’t because he had ultimate good luck. It was so he could experience ultimate despair…

Notes:

- The name’s pretty on-the-nose, isn’t it? Ah well, I like it.

- Also yes, Hope’s Peak Academy is in a mountain like Jade Mountain Academy. I don’t even have to change the name to make it work! Peak, like a mountain’s peak, get it?

MURDER HORNETS (MD x WoF AU concept)

woe. dragon-drones be upon ye. i caved into the autism and decided to mix my two hyperfixations together. this is just a vague story concept + some character descriptions. if you wanna do anything with it, go right ahead!! i probably won't do much teehee

The lust for power can easily destroy someone. Upon the discovery of another continent, the HiveWing Queen has decided that she wants, no, needs full control over the Distant Kingdoms just as she has control over Pantala. Such a task is easier said than done. The Queen has taken multiple squadrons of the most capable, powerful HiveWings, and under near constant brainwashing via the Breath of Evil, sent them to the Distant Kingdoms in trios. The Queen is not above resorting to genocide to get what she wants.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

Undying (Uzi) Born shortly before the construction of The Barrier, Undying is a NightWing/RainWing hybrid who thinks that everyone who chooses to stay in The Barrier is a coward. She wants to rise up against the ones keeping them in, and she has a plan to do exactly that. She would execute said plan if it wasn't for her father and his precautions.

Kaffir (Khan) A RainWing who likes to take the safest way out. After the death of his wife due to the Murder Hornets, Kaffir became the self-appointed director of The Barrier Project, a safe haven set to keep wandering dragons protected from the wrath of the Murder Hornets. He's not too keen on his daughter's views of rebellion. Nightcrawler (N) Once a servant for a HiveWing royal, Nightcrawler was appointed to the Queen's squadrons upon her learning that he possessed more abilities than the average HiveWing. He was admittedly hesitant to embark, but with pressure from his appointed squadron, he agreed. It's not like he had a say in the matter. Vespa (V) The second member of the Queen's squadron, Vespa was in a similar situation to Nightcrawler. However, instead of being reluctant like him, Vespa fully embraced her role as one who asks no questions and does whatever she's told with due diligence. It appears she's gone a bit mad, but that seems to be a benefit for the Queen's goal. Junix (J) Junix declared herself to be the leader of her squadron upon arriving to the Distant Kingdoms. She has no issues with harming her own teammates if it means she pushes forward with her directive. She will do anything to please the Queen, even if it means paralyzing her "companions" due to them becoming inefficient. Lithic (Lizzy) A pompous SandWing who cares a little too much about social status in The Barrier. She's obsessed with all things shiny or anything that puts her in the spotlight. She's almost never seen without Dawn and looks down on those who she considers "outcasts". Dawn (Doll) An IceWing/SkyWing hybrid with a strong IceWing accent and is almost always seen with an eerily blank expression. She hardly says a thing, yet somehow is considered Lithic's best friend. There's something behind her eyes that feels wrong.
