(Our second fluff ABC's. This time for our hothead. You can find the first fluff ABC's here. Below the cut~)

A = Admiration - Cam admires honesty.

B = Body - Any part of MC, doesn't matter. Just know Cam is very much paying attention to all of their body.

C = Cuddling - There were many nights when MC and Cam were having a sleepover that Cam ended up half laying on MC. Cam loves to cuddle, and why not do that with your favorite person?

D = Dates - For Cam he would prefer something more laid back. While he would take MC out on the town if that is what they wanted, just having that one on one time is a plus in their book.

E = Emotions - They are known as our resident hot head for a reason. Cam can take a lot, he will bury it. (Looking at all those emotions he has pushed down for MC). If Cam feels someone is being rude or out of pocket just know he will do something about it. Even if it has nothing to do with him.

F = Family - For him, those people he considers famliy are the most important to him. Whether that is MC, or MC's aunt, even doggo. They matter to Cam. Now how that applies to his own siblings, you will just have to wait and see.

G = Gifts - He loves to give gifts, believes them to be little reminders of his appreciation. If you see the inside of Cam's room, you will see trinkets from many different points in his life. Things from his childhood, such as the first pebble MC gave him. To a stack of polaroids of Kara's first steps, to when he got the doggo for MC.

H = Holding Hands - He holds hands with such fervency. Afraid that if he lets go the person whose hand he was holding will cease to exist.

I = Injury - While Cam can handle pain thanks to growing up sick, he can't handle it when it has to do with people he cares about. When he saw MC's nose bleed (thanks Cam) he nearly fainted form the sight of blood. Just the idea of hurting someone gives him the ick. (unless that person is Chris.)

J = Jokes - Definitely a jokester, sometimes you just have to laugh to keep from crying. Sadly that is one of Cam's ideals. He will be sulking out of your view.

K = Kisses - Cam kisses with urgency, as if each one will be the last. Each one more dear than the one before.

L = Love - Cam has had love for people, platonically, and romantically. Though no love burns brighter or hurts as much as the one he has for his best friend. It's a love to never be given lightly or that expects anything in return.

M = Memory - He has many memories he holds dear, from the first word Kara spoke, to his first kiss. One of his favorite memories is prom, and when he headbutted Chris. (Okay that one yeah that one is top 5.)

N = Nightmare (what is one of their fears?) - One of his biggest fears is to be discarded. To be replaced and treated as if he never mattered at all. He can do without that.

O = Oddity (what is one quirk they have?) - MC will see Cam just grab at his hair and faceplant on the table, the couch even his bed. MC has yet to find out why but they always hear Cam mumbling things under his breath.

P = Pet Names (what do they like to call you?)- Red.

Q = Quality Time (how do they like to spend time with you?) - Cam prefers to just hang out, relax. Talk about your shared past and what coul be your future. Watch really cringey shows. Share a pint of ice cream together. Help in any way he can. Also…laundry.

R = Rhythm (what song do they hum to themselves, when they think no one is listening.)- He will hum anything even if he doesn't know the lyrics, his current go to is Say Yes To Heaven by Lana Del Ray.

S = Secrets (how open are they?) - With others he's not open at all, with MC like an open book. (well except for one secret he keeps close). He will never intentionally tell MC's secrets, those are sacred to him.

T = Time (how do they spend their time?) - Pining. Doodling in a journal he keeps hidden in a drawer. Taking horrible candid photos of people. Cam also likes to read, there will always be a book dog eared in his camera bag.

U = Upset (how do they act when they're upset?) - Depends on how upset he is. While somethings he will bottle, other things will make him out swear a sailor. Cam gives it his all in a lot of things, especially when it comes to cussing someone out. Did they bump into MC, alright hes going to tell them their mother should have swallowed. Our boy is fiesty sometimes to a fault. But it's because he truly cares.

V = Vaunt (what are they proud of? Do they like to show you off?) - Their accomplishments. While his parents don't recognize how good he is as a photographer, Cam is truly good at it. At capturing a moment or an idea just with photos. It's something he prouds himself on. If he sucks at everything else, at least he knows this is the one thing he can do.

W = Warrior (how do they feel about you fighting? Would they fight for you, beside you, etc?) - He has a scar on the back of his thigh from doing just that. Cam will fight for you, beside you. To him it doesn't matter. You just tell him where to throw that punch.

X = X-Ray (how well are they able to read you?) - Very well. There will be times when Cam can read MC better than he can himself. He won't always know when something is wrong or whats wrong, especially if your relationship changes. He will try his best to figure out whats wrong.

Y = Yes (how would they propose to you?) - I can't give all the details away, but it would depend. It's not that he wouldn't plan it, it's just likely that he would be so overcome with emotion that he just blurts it out.

Z = Zen (what makes them feel calm?) - Someone touching their hand or a hug. He never really got them from his family so to him it's not only shocking when someone does it but its so comforting to him that he wishes it would never end.

“Hello sir or madam, my name’s Randy Jade and I’m feeling randy for you tonight! …I-I’m sorry, my boss makes me say that…” came the nervous, tinny voice through Marty’s phone.

“Your- haha- your boss makes you say that? Oh my god,” Marty burst into giggles, mood basically ruined immediately. “I’m sorry, that was just- so cringey, dude.” 

“Y-yeah, I know… I’m sorry…” Randy sighed. Marty could practically feel the loser energy radiating through the phone. “A-anyway! The, uh, reason you called..?”

Marty paused for a confused moment, and would’ve blinked if he had eyes. “This… this is a phone sex hotline. I called to get off.”

“Oh! Oh, y-yes, of course, sorry… u-uh, sorry, I’m not great at this, if you can’t tell…”

“Look, man, do you need like- a break or something? You sound really stressed. I can just read some porn or somethin’ later to crank it to, if you wanna just stay on the line so you don’t hafta deal with anyone else,” Marty offered tentatively. “You clearly need it.”

“R-really? Are you… sure you’re fine with that?” Randy asked, a tinge of hope in his voice. 

“Wouldn’t have offered otherwise, darlin’. Stay on as long as ya need, alright?” 

“Darlin’?!” Randy squeaked. “I-I, uh, s-sorry, I get called names a lot, but not usually that… sincerely.” If he had facial skin, it would’ve been bright red. 

“Eh, I like my men pathetic. You fit that criteria.” Marty shrugged. “So, tell me about yourself, Randy. Wanna know more about you.”

“Oh, there’s really not much to say… I, uh, I live in a dumpster? And I wrestle swans for my day job…” Randy paused. “I haven’t even asked your name! I’m so sorry!”

“Wrestle swa- you know, I’ve met weirder. Like that green guy at the park. Name’s Martin, but you can call me Marty, ‘kay?”

Randy hummed quietly. “I’m sure you’re far more exciting than me, Mart- uh, Marty. Where do you… work and stuff?”

“You know that record store downtown? Been workin’ there for years- you should stop by some time.”

“That sounds… That sounds really nice, actually.

“I sh-should probably get back to work now, though… Could I- Could I, uh, get your number, maybe?”

”Oh! Sure, yeah, it’s…” Marty rambled off his number, fanning one hand in excitement. A cute guy! Asked for his number! Well- he sounded like a cute guy, at least. Marty hoped he was a cute guy. “You should stop by the record store tomorrow. I’ll be there all day.”

“I-I’ll try to..!”

Yosuke groaned, leaning back against the floor of the dungeon. 

He had just gotten hit by a particularly nasty electricity skill and now just wanted to curl in on himself and sleep for several hours. 

He had to admit that he had probably brought this upon himself though. He had rushed into the fight, wanting to take out the shadows as fast as possible. He had wanted Yu to praise him for doing a good job. It always made him so unbelievably happy whenever that happened. He was really seeking his approval and now he was in pain because of it.

“Yosuke!” That was Yu’s voice along with the sound of footsteps coming nearer. “Are you okay?”

He tried to get himself to sit up. He didn’t want him to have to worry about him. 

All of a sudden, a warmth began radiating out around him, seeping into his joints, relieving the aching of his limbs. 

He let out a deep breath, looking over just in time to see one of Yu’s various Personas fade away. He must have cast a healing spell on him. He could always count on him to help him when things like this happened.

Yu walked over beside him, offering him his hand. He took it - his skin was so warm, his palm and fingers calloused, only serving as a reminder of how adept he was with his sword - letting himself be helped up.

“Are you okay?” Yu repeated, worry behind his eyes.

Yosuke nodded. “Yeah, sorry.”

He looked him over with his eyes before nodding. “All right, just try to be more careful next time. I don’t like you getting hurt.”

For whatever reason, that concern made his heart start pounding in his chest. "Yeah, right."

With that, the group started heading through the area once again, going until they were all too exhausted to keep at it, leaving the TV World. 

While they were walking through Junes, something dawned on him - there was an essay due the next morning that he had barely started on. He definitely wasn't going to have the motivation to finish it that night, not with how tired he was. He needed to get it done though. 

They were walking into the parking lot, everyone beginning to head into different directions, when he stopped Yu.

"Hey, Partner?"

Yu turned to face him. "What's up?"

He hesitated. He needed someone to motivate him to get this essay done. "Do you already have your essay finished? The one for history?"

A small smile tugged at his lips. "Yeah, I do."

He hesitated. If he hadn't had it done, he was going to ask him if he wanted to work on it together, but if he had already finished it, then he really couldn't ask that. 

"Do you want to come over to work on yours?"

Relief flooded through his chest. If he was offering, then he didn't need to ask. "Yes, please."

"All right, come on then."

The two of them began walking in the direction of the Dojima Residence. He did like going over there a lot. It was nice to just spend time with Yu and also Nanako. Yu's uncle kind of intimidated him, but altogether it was nice. 

When they arrived, Nanako was the only one home. She immediately perked up as soon as the door opened. "Welcome home."

Yu smiled at her, returning the greeting - it was such a warm smile, one that he loved seeing from him. It made him look so handsome. He paused at that thought - objectively handsome, of course. Yu was just a good looking guy and the smile made him more good looking.

"Hey, Nanako-chan," Yosuke said, walking over to the table in the living room where she was seated.

"Hi. Are you here to hang out with Big Bro?"

He was just opening his mouth to answer that yes, he was, when Yu cut him off. "He's here to work on homework."

Yosuke pouted. "I can do both."

"Maybe after you get your work done."

He groaned. Now that he was here, he just wanted to spend time with the both of them. That sounded so much better than homework. 

Nanako looked between the two of them before turning to him. "I'll help you."

He smiled. "I'm sure that with both of us working together, I'd get an even better grade than Yu."

"Really? Big Bro is really smart though."

"Don't sell yourself short."

"Yosuke, don't try to get her to do it for you," Yu said from the kitchen.

"I'm not trying to get her to do it for me. I'm just saying that I bet she's smart enough to do it."

Yu hummed. "Maybe. Anyways though, get to work. Dinner will be ready in a bit."

"And I'm getting treated to your home cooking. You're spoiling me."

"Would you rather not have dinner?" There was a smile behind his voice.

"I definitely want dinner."

"Good, so get to work."

He grabbed out his history book and the part of the essay that he had already started writing, spreading it out on the table in front of him. 

Everything quickly settled into a comfortable quiet, the TV on in the background and noises coming from the kitchen as Yu cooked. He liked being like this. It sure beat working on his essay alone in his room. 

After a while, dinner was ready, so he stopped working to eat - once again, Yu's cooking was so good. If he could have one person cook for him for the rest of his life, it would be him. It sounded so nice to live with him and have him cook for him every day. He would love for that to happen. 

Once dinner was done, he started working on his essay again, determined now to get it done - he was starting to feel the pressure of needing to finish it before he went home that night. He got so into it that he barely even noticed Yu putting Nanako to bed. He came to sit with him afterward though, so that was nice.

He was just writing the last sentence when the front door slid open. 

He looked up as Dojima walked inside, stopping when he saw him. “Hanamura, you’re here late.”

“Welcome home,” Yu said. “Yosuke just needed help with homework.”

He nodded. “All right, that’s fine. You’re staying here tonight though. It’s too late for a kid your age to be walking around.”

He almost opened his mouth to complain, but quickly thought better of it. “Oh, all right.”

“Good, now don’t stay up too late.”

“We won’t,” Yu said.

At that, Dojima walked into the hallway, presumably going to bed himself.

Yosuke turned to Yu. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to spend the night.”

Yu shook his head. “It’s fine. Are you almost done with your essay?”

He looked back down at the paper in front of him. “Yep. I just finished it.”

He nodded. “Do you want to go get ready for bed now then? You can borrow some pajamas.”

He smiled. “Thanks, dude. And yeah, that sounds good.”

At that, he put his school stuff back into his bag, standing, and following Yu up to his room. 

He waited as he went through his dresser, pulling clothes out of it. He handed him a stack of them. “You can take a shower first.”

“Okay, be right back then.”

He took the clothes into the bathroom, setting them down on the counter. He quickly took a shower, then got to work getting redressed. 

As he was pulling on the shirt though, he paused. This was Yu’s shirt. He was about to put on Yu’s clothes. Why did that thought make his heart race? It was just a piece of fabric.

A piece of fabric that Yu had worn before.

He swallowed hard, pulling the shirt on over his head. Why was he acting so weird about it? Sharing clothes with his best friend shouldn’t make his stomach flutter. It just shouldn’t. 

He was kind of disappointed that they smelled like laundry soap and not him though. 

The pants were just a little bit too long on him and he fought the urge to roll them up - rolling up pajama pants was just weird. Still, it made him feel small. Yu wasn’t that much taller than him, was he?

He pushed his thoughts away, then made his way back to Yu’s room. It seemed as though he had been hard at work while he was taking a shower, setting up the room so that there were two futons laid out, side by side on the floor.

“Shower’s all yours,” Yosuke said, walking up beside him.

It might have been his imagination, but it felt like Yu’s gaze lingered on him for a few seconds more than normal. 

He nodded. “All right. I’ll be right back.”

After Yu left the room, Yosuke went over and sat down on one of the futons. He was really about to sleep so close to him. Despite himself, that thought made him really happy.

He didn’t have to wait for very long before Yu was coming back into the room, his hair damp from his shower.

He paused by the door. “Lights off?”

“Yeah.” He was actually pretty exhausted from exploring the TV World, so he was about ready to go to sleep.

Yu flicked the lights off, then headed over, sitting down on the futon next to him, climbing underneath the blankets. 

He followed suit, laying down on his side so that he was facing him. They were so close that he could hear his gentle breathing beside him. It was quiet for a little while.

“Hey, Yosuke?”

“Yeah?”

“I was just thinking about earlier - about when you got hurt.”

Yosuke winced. Why was he bringing that up?

“And well, you know that you don’t have anything that you need to prove, right?”

Was he really that easy to read? Did everyone else think that that was what he was doing?

“Yeah, sorry.”

Yu let out a small sigh. “It’s just… I really hate seeing you get hurt. I do care about you and it just makes my mind wander to the possibilities. What if something happens and it’s bad enough that I can’t heal you? I…” His voice was shaking.

Yosuke’s chest started aching. He really thought about stuff like that? He was worried about losing him? 

Yosuke reached out, finding his hand amongst the blankets, and grasping tightly onto it. “I’m sorry. I’ve never thought about it like that.”

Yu squeezed his hand back. “I know that, really, we haven’t known each other that long, but I already can’t imagine living my life without you. You’re important to me.”

He took a deep breath. Why did hearing that make his eyes start to water. “You’re important to me too.”

Yu let out a yawn, moving a little bit closer to him so that they were almost touching. Without thinking too much, Yosuke reached over, wrapping his arm around his back, just letting them be close. 

He really didn’t understand why his heart was beating so fast, but, at the same time, he was so unbelievably content. He hoped that Yu knew just how much he meant to him.

Human Sully Teenagers HC

Modern human versions of Kiri, Lo'ak, and Neteyam have lived rent free in my mind since I saw ATWOW. This is probably terrible, but I had to get these thoughts out of my head. It's not proofread so lol

NETEYAM:

That golden child, oldest sibling mentality would definitely transfer over.

He would be a star athlete, I see football.

He wouldn’t talk about how smart he was but you knew he got all A’s in his classes.

You would ask him for help in certain subjects and he would act disinterested, but he felt so prideful he could help you.

He drives a clutch and you loved being his passenger princess. He always looked so good while driving.

His car was one of his pride and joy’s. Regular car washes, maintenance check ups, and god forbid anyone put their feet on his dash (besides you which he allowed with lots of convincing).

His favorite artists would be like Brent Faiyaz, J.cole (and yes I’m a little biased)

Kiri would try to put him onto SZA and Summer Walker and he would try to act disinterested when really it was all over his playlist.

He didn’t party often but he knows how to have a good time.

Kush > Alcohol

Whenever the two of you went out he made sure he was 100% sober so he could keep an eye on you and get you home safe.

Jake raised both his boys to be gentlemen. He holds doors open for you, makes you walk on the inside of the sidewalk, and your favorite was when he kept his hand on the small of your back when walking through crowded places.

He would have dreads he always kept neat, exceptional skin, and would smell really good. He was a naturally neat person but being his mother’s son he would probably pay a little more attention to cleanliness than most boys his age.

He loved when you played in his hair and had tried to teach you how to retwist it.

I know that man would have the sexiest physique, never wearing a shirt when you were around which you did not mind.

He was the best cuddle buddy and he loved when you would fall asleep on him.  

LO'AK:

The problem child would follow him too.

Feeling like he would never be as good as Neteyam he would act out. Definitely fall into the wrong crowd.

I love how there is this mutual fandom understanding that Lo’ak would be addicted to nic. He would also wear full Nike tech sets.

Lo’ak’s sport would probably be basketball.

His favorite rappers would be NBA Youngboy and he would be heavily into trap music.

He was smart too, but he had an act to keep up so he just never did his work.  

This drove Neytiri and Jake crazy because she could see Lo’ak’s potential, and this would cause lots of fights between them.

Lo'ak is the king of cringey tik toks.

He would have a couple thousand followers but it would be enough to go to his head which made Neteyam and Kiri roll their eyes.

He would treat you like a queen though, because again his father is Jake Sully.

Lo’ak kept getting in trouble for sneaking out of the house until he told his parents it was to see you.

You tried to be a positive influence in Lo’ak’s life. Get him to focus on school and basketball a little more without being pushy and it worked. But he still had to keep up cool guy persona.

You knew he was a sap the way he would stutter occasionally around you or fall asleep with his head on your stomach while you played in his hair.

Kiri:

Kiri gives so much bisexual energy goodbye.

As she got older I feel like she would be a pothead.

She would listen to R&B and the occasional pop song.

She was always the mediator whenever Lo’ak and Neteyam got to close to physically fighting.

At school she was always Neteyam’s younger sister or Lo’ak’s older one which drove her a little nuts.

She was a little bit of a loner but Neteyam and Lo’ak made sure no one was ever rude or bullied her.

One time someone had tried once shoving Kiri into a locker.

She wasn’t even mad but she felt bad for the boy because a crowd had gathered around them which meant her brothers wouldn’t be far behind.

As she expected they pushed through the crowd and just about jumped the kid and his friends.

They were both suspended for two weeks but neither of their parents minded.

The Sully kids would lowkey run their school.

I think Kiri would be the best out of the three of them as a partner. She would be emotionally attentive enough, but also know when to leave you alone and how to communicate her own feelings.

I feel like she would wear her hair in braids mostly, goddess braids maybe.

She would gravitate towards the street style aesthetic.

She found comfort in solitude but she loved her family dearly.

When she had to escape them though she would lock her door and put her airpods in.

If the family had a pet it would be a dog, but Kiri is a cat person.

When she was little she convinced Jake to let her keep a stray kitten they found in the park (much to Neytiri’s dismay when you came home).

The cat likes no one besides Jake and Kiri and would spend most of its time on Kiri’s bed.

KIRI IS A CRYSTAL ROCK GIRLIE

Definitely would have a rock humidifier and a rock necklace.

Her secret passion is zodiacs and she would analyze her whole family.

She would give Lo'ak, Neteyam, and Tuk rock necklaces that she made that are supposed to ward off bad energy.

Tuk would wear hers, Neteyam would hang his on the back of his rearview mirror, and Lo'ak would keep it in his pocket or somewhere not visible but it would always be with him.

Okay wow, My Dark Vanessa is so intense, and I’m glad it was recommended to me. It is definitely a darker (ha) version of some stuff I was working through in some recent writing. (Oh and I did finally get to where you find out that the title comes from Pale Fire - so maybe a lot of people know that, but I haven’t read that and did not know).

I had a teacher in high school who I had a mega crush on. He was younger and very funny and IMO hot. I was on the rowing team, and I knew he was a rower too. It’s a small community, so I heard from other team members that he used to be a coach for my team, IIRC when he was just getting out of college. He got together with a girl on the team. It was a whole big thing, he got fired and everyone was very upset, except for the girl’s parents who didn’t think it was that big a deal (I’m thinking like, 17 and 22. That realm). I don’t have much opinion on that. I know they’re married and have kids. I see him around town sometimes. He brings one of his kids to watch roller derby and my sister does that.

I was very dorky and weird in hs. I had this misguided notion that since this teacher had hooked up with a younger girl at one point (btw I did know he was still with her, maybe engaged, at this time), that maybe I had a chance with him. I stalked him and found all kinds of reasons to hang out late after class and was overall very cringey.

I found out he lived right by school so I would also stop by his house, often with my high school BFF who also had a crush on him, albeit less intense I think. He one time did invite us in, and showed us the “all your base are belong to us” video on YouTube.

At some point, I said something mean to him in class and then we had a 1:1 meeting to discuss it and he said I had hurt his feelings - somehow then we ended up discussing the fact that my dad was in the hospital with some then-mysterious issue that was causing his respiratory system to shut down…I was all messed up from it and acting out. I think the teacher also had something going on with his dad, maybe he had recently died. He quoted some Dar Williams lyrics to me? (More cringe - although I did, and still do, love her, it’s just not a normal thing for a teacher to do!) This made me feel like we were bonding and had some kind of connection.

I definitely don’t think he was ever attracted to me, and nothing happened. However, with the benefit of age I’m now like “wtf was he doing having us come in to his house, and having that emo talk with me?” It definitely did not help matters re: my crush. I remember being on winter break and visiting family in Washington not long after, and just feeling this LONGING for him. I was miserable. Ugh.

Anyway. As to my story - I did this cool writing exercise that was called “shape shifting the autobiographical.” It was a multi step thing where you start with an anecdote about something interesting that happened to you. I picked a time when bff and I got pirate costumes and drove to his house and talked to him like pirates (yes…) and it was very dumb but also very funny to us and fun to reminisce about. We got the idea because the pirates of the carribean movie had just come out, and the ad campaign included these banner ads online that just said “PIRATES!” And we thought that was so weird and funny.

For the next step of the exercise, you retell it from a different POV. I picked his wife. Then you change the time period, so I moved it to present day. Then you write it in a whole other style, like a letter or something - I chose a r/AITA post in which she wonders whether she’s the asshole for being upset with how her husband is handling these students with a crush - with lots of edits and updates as the stalking and her distress escalate (at this point, it veered into fiction, I think she was maybe annoyed by us but not distressed, and I wrote the stalking much worse than in real life). Then you change the genre so I tried to make it more like horror.

Anyway, I think I was trying to get at this idea of a woman who got together with her husband in a dubious age gap/power differential situation, but doesn’t think much about it, until she sees him maybe almost crossing lines with girls who are the same age as she was when it happened, and she sees how much they are just children, and she was a child too, and that realization is the horror in the story. I doubt the real life wife actually feels that way (I mean, I’d have no idea obv), but it was an interesting idea to play with. I also really liked the AITA form cause so many of those letters take the tone of “my male partner is basically a monster…is it possible that it is in fact my fault?” and that’s a fun thing to play with too.

I’m realizing now that I didn’t quite get deep enough into that theme (ahem, why that editor I sent it to said it seemed surface level). And it’s kind of a bummer* but also good to see it done much better (and pushed much further/an actual Wrong relationship is part of it) in this book.

*bummer as in, it always kind of sucks to read something you wish you could write. But is also inspiring and interesting.

A show people love but you find bad

Oh there's a lot of these, but the two that people might disagree with me most on is Never Let Me Go and Big Dragon. I see a lot of love for those shows and....they didn't do it for me. At all. Just...woof.

Will also add Lovely Writer onto this list. I really just couldn't buy into Gene and Nubsib and Nubsib was a really immature/annoying character. Also, all those sound effects??? Truly grates the nerves.

A show people find bad but you will defend

I'm gonna go with a few of the other answers I saw and say Secret Crush on You and My Only 12% listen: yes, SCOY is not everyone's cup of tea and yes, MY12 has a terrible plot twist ending but, the acting is great, the chemistry is great, the characters are great. I adore them, so I can forgive a few flaws. I mean, look at SantaEarth in all their adorable glory:

I mean....I don't know that it's objectively bad but I've read a lot of criticism on the filming of Ghost Host, Ghost House, which is fair. It's not as quality as other BLs in terms of filming but man, that show got me in my feels.

Tonhon Chonlatee, mostly because I adored Khao in it and MikeToptap's side couple. But that show was an absolute dumpster fire. I just wanna know how AiNhai dated for so long under the same roof as Tonhon without him finding out??? Truly the biggest plot mystery. Then again, Tonhon is also the biggest himbo in all the land.

I would also say Lovely Writer. I just couldn't get into it and found it really lackluster but wanted to see how it ended.

Again probably Love Mechanics b/c I enjoyed it - but WOOF that friend group is hard to fucking watch. Beware. Not many of them are actually likeable but VeeMark is truly *chefs kiss* amazing to watch. The whole messy cheating web of love interests is also very fun (not for them, but for us).

I cannot, in good conscience, forgive Thua for outing Akk and Aye in The Eclipse. Any character who has ever publicly outed someone is on my shit list. But Thua - man, fuck you. I'm of the opinion they should have punched him and Kan should have left him.

Okay ive been thinking about it now for 2 days and I think i really wanna write it what happened about our date.

SO FIRST OFF, I got pissed off early on because he said he was gonna be like 30mins late for our movie. And that really pissed me off.. I just said, okay.. ofcourse im not gonna tell him that Im pissed off. But i think he sensed it bc i just reply smtg like.. “Oh ok then”

Then he said he was joking.. 🙄🙄

But i didnt read his msg that he was just joking so for like 30mins i was so pissed. I was thinking to myself this is gonna be the last time im gonna hang out with him.. cuz man its such a turn off honestly.. like?? Yknow we had plans, you shud be prepared and then hes gonna tell me hes going to be 30mins late??? Also he doesnt have work that day, if he had work i wud have understand but no. He wasnt doing anything prior so why is he gonna be late?? So that was going thru my mind for 30mins and when i saw his msg i was so upset and relieved at the same time that he was just joking..

Fast forward now, we saw eo.. we watched Spiderverse! :) I really enjoyed that a lot. Still so funny tho, even more funnier cuz ive seen some memes that made it funnier. Also, him beside me laughing is so cute! Man.. am i down bad again? So yeah that was the movie part. Nothing really much happened.

Then after movie, we went to the mall to walk around.. he said he was looking for some daily shorts.. so we visited a few shops. We saw his bestfriend.. we just talked for a bit, it was nice seeing her but ngl it felt really weird and by that time i felt smtg.. like a tinge of uneasiness.. idk how to act and idk what to say.. i mean do i invite her to come with us?? But its our date idk how he will feel as well.. but at the same time idk if he knows that hes gonna meet his friend.. that was really weird to me but i didnt pay attention too much of it.. i was just worried that ill act awkward and wudnt be able to convey my own feelings nicely.. but after that we said our goodbyes and we started walking to the restaurant..

Tbh.. at that point i just wanna go home, the mood wasnt really it anymore.. idk what it was but i feel like i accepted it already that this is not gonna work out.. sometimes i really dont like how hes so into himself like?? He likes to dress up and such and he cares for his looks but sometimes for me i think its a bit much.. idk..

tbh i feel like life is already sad and challenging? but its up to u if u wanna stay that way. like, life isnt always good for me but i dont wanna dwell on it. i always wanna look at the brighter side. he did say that not all days are good days. and its true! i know that and its hard to stay positive but still, life is only what you make it. i iddnt tell him that but.. i got really really happy and fuzzy and warm inside we he said that thats what he like about me being positive. :D because i do want to give positivity to people eventho im not always positive. im just faking it till u i make it basically. but i always tell myself i cant be sad all the time. i cant be like my classmate M who always so negative bc once u think negative thoughts it reflects on ur life. so only happy and positive thoughts.

so yeah that is one of my requirements, i dont want that gloomy energy in my life so i told him that. then we kept walking, harbour front is so pretty at night, im sad i didnt take a photo of the scenery.

one of the core memory of that date was when he said i was dramatic, in a good way. and i was baffled! i was like ??? excuse me? im not dramatic T.T then he goes on and explained that im dramatic in a good way. like: oh my god? you are lifting? oh my god? that is so cool!

Hello, hello!! It's me, your favorite graduate, back with a burning question! ;)

I am in the middle of episode 11 of Why R U? (literally paused in the middle of it because I am WAY too invested in FighterTutor and am seriously dreading what is coming) - what a messy, cringey show. There are so many freaking characters, and my question is inspired by one that I have come to love, Kae. He is Tutor's boss at the bakery, and after he (bravely, in IRL standards) confronts Fighter's dad I realized just how much I appreciated his character and how annoyed I am that the show couldn't cut down its cabal of unnecessary characters to focus on more interesting ones. Not only is he an astonishingly great example (for a BL!!) of a queer "elder" in the community - he protects Tutor from creepy customers, gives him a job when he needs one and looks for help when he needs more work, is working-class himself, and tries to give advice to this lonely queer kid he's taken under his wing - he also seems to be a rare less-stereotypical portrayal of a Thai person with darker skin (if not the only, honestly, in my limited experience watching these shows).

So! My question is, are there any side characters or even guest characters (like Kae is billed as) who you wish had been given more latitude or importance in the plot/story of a BL?

That’s what’s so frustrating about MAME’s stuff, it’s so close to being amazing...  It’s like this fantastic 5 course meal but you will be barfing at some point. Maybe the end? Maybe the middle? Maybe multiple times? It’s a regurgitation surprise! 

5. Fong the Philosopher in Still 2gether 

Khaotung is untaped genius at physical comedy. I love him in this role SO HARD. I think we got a lot from him in season one, but I wanted more in season 2. 

6. PokeTongue in Gen Y 2 & What Zabb Man

Look we all know that during Gen Y 2 they were actually pretending to be in some other show. And frankly, we all would have rather been watching that show. Then they got given an actual other show and we STILL wanted more of them.

It would have been fine, no BETTER, if Porsche & Vegas had developed as a friendship and Vegas had NOTICED Pete in a significant way much earlier.*

Honorable Mention

All the GLs that should have had more screen time like the cuties in Meow Ears Up, InkPa in Bad Buddy, and Friend Zone 2, and I could keep going.

 The angry roommate ex lover in Love Class. I just really loved the actor and was very intrigued by the character. We could have spent much less time exploring the stalker story and more time with this boy and still kept the dumb sort KBL length. All in all, the weight of this narrative was all over the place but not using this character to the fullest was a problem.

I will die on this tiny hill of censored bromance. More of them would have substantially improved this show.

So I love KhunKaow in Brothers and CopyNampu in Top Secret Together and SanAei in You’re My Sky, Saint in Our Days, Jun in Love Area 2, but I don't think more of them could have save their respective shows because then it would have been MORE terrible show to watch. I call these the "I'm your huckleberry" awards. I give one each year to the couple that was the only good thing in an otherwise irredeemable show. Like Val Kilmer in Tombstone (bite me).

“I don’t know why you did this, or what the hell is wrong with you but this was really low. I’m out of here.” He glares at her before walking away from her.

 You were out of control. You cried, you screamed, you threw everything you saw in front of your eyes until you fell on your knees, sobbing.

You couldn’t believe Marinette would do this, you couldn’t believe everyone would do this to you, especially Adrien.

You thought you’ve grown close to the people in your class but you were wrong. They didn’t show up to your birthday party, they lied to you. Your heart was broken.

You held your knees close to your chest as the music lowly played behind you. It was mostly drawn out by your sobs and sniffles.

You hear footsteps approaching you and you look up, with red puffy eyes and see a familiar blond through your blurry vision.

It was Adrien. You look away and sob even harder at the thought of him seeing you like this, with everything destroyed around you. Why did he come here? Did he want to taunt you further?

He kneels down next to you and rubs your shoulder, moving you to his chest and causing you to nuzzle your face there.

“I hate this. I hate today, I hate Marinette.” You mumble. Maybe hate was a strong word, but you didn’t care at that moment.

You look up at him. “Why did you come here Adrien? Do you want to make me feel even more embarrassed than I already am?” You croak out.

He shakes his head. “Please, I swear to you Marinette told me that your birthday party was moved to her place, she told everyone that.” He sighs and shows you his phone so you could see the message Marinette sent him.

“Fucking bitch!” You exclaim and hide your face in your hands again.

“Hey, hey. I got here as soon as I found out she was lying. All I wanted was to celebrate your birthday and make you happy” He says quietly.  “I’m so fucking sorry that this happened.” He says and rests his head against yours in a comforting manner.

You look up at him and wipe your eyes, sniffling. “Well, there’s nothing I can do now. It’s ruined.” You mumble and sigh. “I thought Marinette was my friend you know?” You mutter.

“I know.” Adrien nods and looks down. He stares at the card in his hand and bites his lip, his heart racing at the thought of giving this to you.  “Maybe this will make you feel better.” He says, a small smile twitching on his lips as he hands you the envelope.

You widen your eyes and look up at him as if hesitant to open it. You open it though and you begin to read it.

Ever since the first time I saw you, you absolutely took my breath away. Ever since the day I first saw you, I thought to myself that I have to get to know you better. I did. And that may have been one of the best decisions of my life. You have a beautiful mind, a beautiful soul and a beautiful heart. To be honest, I think I keep falling for you every day. This ask might go a bit off the rails but: I’ve been meaning to ask you this and your conversations about the reaction to the hometown cha cha cha lesbians (congrats to them btw 🎉) is kinda up this alley, but there was this post going around about how squid game was a) racist because they only had one brown person in the show and because said brown person was killed off and b) homophobic for that one scene with wi ha joon and that old VIP guy. And it just. Really rubbed me the wrong way. Like first I felt like the person was just saying shit to say shit, like trying to find something new and unique to say about a super popular show. But even if they were right or kind of had a point, I really felt like, unless THEY were Korean it’s really not their place to be making these judgements and accusations. Even if those choices were racist/homophobic that’s none of MY business as an American viewer because this is a Korean show. Their own history and reasons and issues for those choices has nothing to do with me as a viewer because ultimately I’m viewing this as an outsider. Idk if that makes sense but I feel like this is always my problem with Americans who watch foreign media, especially when it’s non-white. They just come in and accuse everything of being bigoted or bad as some kind of trump card and it’s like, even if they’re right that’s really none of their business. ESPECIALLY because they act like they were the first people to notice this. As if the people from these countries haven’t noticed these issues in their media and haven’t been working against it this whole time. Because at the end of the day, the biggest thing white people don’t know is WHY these issues are even there (I.e US imperialism being the root cause of homophobia in Korean society) so they just disregard any nuance and come with the take of “I’m holier than thou for not watching kdramas because they’re homophobic” idk. but anyway the vip thing is 100% an accurate depiction of sex tourism and sex crimes that rich white tourists get away with in korea and every other colonized country. but is it a homophobic narrative choice as the only depiction of gay anything in the show? probably? ali is 100% a token not korean character but like. the entire cast was killed off besides gihun and ali's literally another asian person in an all asian cast you can't call it racist. his character is informed by class based stereotypes as a migrant worker but like carefully chosen to be a sympathetic depiction of his kind of story. this is a fable and every character is an archetype. is there colorism and xenophobia inherent in his character as a token brown migrant worker? yes. but it's not racism and it wasn't an offensive depiction at all imo, tho i'm open to being corrected.
