Harrow the Ninth Reaction - Chapter 45

‘An amount of time before the emperor’s murder’ oh this is getting ridiculous

ohh Abigail leading Harrow away feels slightly bad to me, i hope they’re who they say they are and not fake/malevolent

huh, what is up with the horned animal imagery and Lyctors. i doubt its anything meaningful, but given the rest of the religious imagery in the book it might make sense if its a ram or some other religious-y associated animal

and the Harrow’s memory Dulcinea IS the real one, because she’s a ghost! ooh i can’t wait to see what she’s really like

and yay, Isaac and Jeannemary are safe … kind of … in a manner of speaking? as safe as a ghost can be i suppose?

oh wow so Silas’s whole murder/suicide of himself and (presumably fake mindscape) Corona was him just being a dramatic little bitch who didn’t want to play along. iconic of him 

okay, so from what Abigail’s saying the River is supposed to be only a temporary place, where souls are supposed to move on to whatever’s ‘beyond’, but something unnatural has happened and stopped them from doing that. i love that she’s dead and still theorising and also a little mad that she couldn’t write a paper about it. we got such little of Abigail last book before she died and i’m loving seeing more of her here

and Ortus is actually the real Ortus, i wasn’t expecting that. also they found out midway through about the bomb but couldn’t disable it?? thats a really awful way to go, knowing you’re gonna die and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. and i hadn’t even thought about the poor pilot that might have also been killed, i assumed the shuttles were auto-piloted or something 

also Ortus is remarkably generous to Crux rn for a guy who murdered him

oh Harrow is beating herself up so much for her previous attitude and actions towards Gideon and Harrow - yes she did absolutely treat them poorly, but its also wound up in a whole lot of guilt about their deaths, neither of which were her fault

and Harrow also just cannot accept that it was ultimately Gideon’s decision to die. even if she has good intentions in that its coming from a place of deep care for her, Harrow is kinda diminishing Gideon’s final choice here

‘I was, and am, a grown man, and you were both neglected children’ oh this is tearing my heart out, someone finally acknowledging just how fucked up Harrow & Gid’s childhoods were, and how young they were to be in such awful positions. and Harrow with all of her guilt over everything, just cannot accept that she might be a child who was hard done by

and she finally isn’t totally rejecting someone’s comforting touch! i wasn’t expecting Ortus and Harrow’s dynamic to go this way, but i really do love it 

fuck yeahhh! confirmation that Gideon the First’s name is in fact, Gideon the First! and i am also very curious as to why Gideon’s mother, whoever she is, was saying said name as a revenant

this message seems to be differentiating between ‘our civilisation’ and ‘yours’ which is strange. these are very likely from the Sleeper then. also i am facepalming because it took me until the end of this chapter to realise that the invading soul was in fact the Sleeper 💀

The last few seasons make no sense because she already pledges her forces. So why did Jon still bend the knee? Unless he didn’t believe she would without him bending the knee?

I'm gonna be honest, the series of events leading to Jon bending the knee makes my head hurt. Because, as it is framed, Jon had no intention on bending the knee at all before the events of Beyond the Wall.

Then, naturally, the worst episode of all time airs, and he goes beyond the Wall in the dumbest quest known to mankind. He then gets trapped by Mr. Fan Nickname, and tells Gendry to get a raven all the way to fucking Dragonstone.

First of all, how did you chuckle fucks get yourselves into this situation. How were all of these men this unprepared for if the army of the dead showed up at this stage. Second, GENDRY DOESN'T KNOW WHERE HE IS. EVEN IF HE GETS TO EASTWATCH WHATS HE SUPPOSED TO WRITE "dysentery help us were trapped on a lake surrounded by snow." What is she supposed to do with that information? (also yes auto correct changed her name to dysentery and no I am not changing that).

Also it would take weeks for a raven that far north to get to DRAGONSTONE but whatever.

Third of all, DRAGONS CANNOT GO BEYOND THE WALL.

So, she saves them, but not Jon, because he needed to get ex machina saved by Cold Hands Benjen. Then he is picked up by the ship bringing them back to Dragonstone. Then for saving them he bends the knee.

He bends the knee after a situation that had nothing to do with the reasons he refused to bend the knee. Like they never discussed what this will mean when he does it.

Jon bends the knee, because the script said he was supposed to bend the knee now. Not because of literally anything that they discussed leading him to trust his entire army and people in her hands. She flew on a dragon and gave them a ride.

ITS EVEN FUNNIER BECAUSE DANY DOING THIS, IS WHAT CAUSES THE WHITE WALKERS TO GET BEYOND THE WALL, AND THEN DANYS FORCES LITERALLY DO NOT ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING EFFECTIVE TO END "THE LONG NIGHT". GETTING HER HELP LITERALLY DID NOTHING BUT MAKE THE SITUATION EVEN WORSE.

Like Jon clearly did not need Danys help, because her forces did nothing and her dragons did not actually do anything effective beyond burn a few more wights at once. Dany sends the Dothraki of all people as their first line of defence and they all get slaughtered.

Literally nothing Dany did, helped Jon. Nothing. He bends the knee because the script told him too. Because Jon has been given no reason to believe that she will actually be helpful or is even trustworthy with his people.

Also lmao cus that scene has Jon making a season 1 reference, making the romance thing super weird coded. He jokes he'd actually bend the knee if he could stand, and thats literally a joke Ned makes when he wakes up after the street fight with Jaime Lannister, telling Robert "I would rise, but..."

He also tells her at one point "I wish you good fortune in the wars to come." Which is what Mance Rayder says to Stannis before he's executed.

LIKE WHAT DO THESE REFERENCES EVEN IMPLY????

The only way it makes sense, is if Jon was worried that now he's seen dragons in action, what Dany would do to his people should he continue to say no, so he bends the knee just like Tohrren Stark before him to spare them. But we never actually get a real reason why he does it because Jon doesn't have a reason. He's just Danys story pawn at this point of the show.

Jon bending the knee is a fucking incomprehensible mess that never should have happened.

i want to add onto this another layer that i feel like i should have covered. i mentioned how these two dynamics reflect on how dave and dirk deal with having themselves reflected back at them, but its also incredibly worth mentioning the other way around; how do dave and dirk react to being what they perceive to be an inferior version of themselves?

dealing with being an "inferior" version of the "real thing" is core to both davesprite and hals characters, and im frankly humiliated that i missed such an important piece of this.

as mentioned, hal was created to be a tool, for helping to save the world, yes, but also for daily convenience, hes basically the workhorse when it comes to dirks social life and responsibilities. hal has a lot of control over dirks personal life and keeps the order; he was designed to, and at the end of the day, he is a program. an incredibly sentient one, but he is a program, and his purpose is to complete the tasks that are assigned to him.

hal does a lot for dirk, and as mentioned in the original post, receives little appreciation, and gives little in return. its a forced and thankless job, regardless of how easy or difficult it is for him.

and on top of this, hal is not given the option to actually be dirk. only pretend, despite the fact he is dirk, just different. hal was stripped his identity because his creator decided there can only be one "true" dirk. but hal also feels the urge to be the "true" dirk, he just knows he doesnt have a lot of ground to stand on. so he uses the fact that he has superior abilities that dirk clearly wishes he himself had.

hal knows how desperately dirk wants to be smarter, more capable, faster at processing, better at multitasking. thats why he created hal in the first place. and hal knows this because he also remembers creating himself, for all those reasons. and so hal shows his dominance by shoving in dirks face how much more capable he is. and to myself as the reader i originally didnt understand why dirk was so bothered by hals bragging, because hes basically bragging about being a computer, and at the time i thought that dirk would probably be content in feeling superior just by being the original, physical guy. but looking back, its obvious that being a computer IS what dirk finds to be superior, because dirk wishes he wasnt human, he has too many limitations as a human, thats why he created hal.

but of course hal still feels insecure, otherwise he wouldnt need to brag, because even though dirk inherently wishes he was more capable, the importance of being the original, physical copy, isnt lost on him. especially since, to some extent, dirk realizes that he is the "true" dirk, he is the purest form of himself, despite all of his splinters. and he takes pride in that. hal dislikes being a splinter, especially one that can so easily be passed off as a "false" dirk, as even his own friends often dont recognize him as even a legitimate version of dirk. jake warms up to brain ghost dirk immediately, despite the fact it isnt dirk, so clearly his issue with hal was in him being a computer program, and therefore "unintelligent" or lacking a realness attribute as the kids say.

so hal is constantly in a battle for dominance with dirk, fighting for the role of the "real, better dirk"

and as we know, hals first step towards resolving his issues is giving himself a name; lil hal. by disconnecting himself from the name "Auto Responder" he gains a sense of his own, separate identity. And later on, he gets a physical presence in the form of ARquius. and so you have the solution to hals feelings of inferiority: what hal needs is to become his own person, and form his own sense of identity outside of dirk. he doesnt need to be the better dirk, when he can be the only hal.

and thats generally the conclusion to his character struggles. once he found a way to separate himself from his source and be satisfied with who he was, his character arc sort of came to an end.

now, davesprite. i may have less to say on davesprite (im just writing as i go this isnt super structured), because while hes equally as complex, there is a lot less importance on his relationship with dave; there isnt a "fight for dominance" because neither wants to be better than the other. in fact, dave and davesprite would probably gladly switch places. hear me out.

dave striders character arc has many themes, but one of the primary ones is what it means to be a hero, to be a main character. and its made clear to us; dave doesnt want to be a hero. he is noble, he protects and fights for his friends, yes. but being noble is not the same as being a hero, not in the context of homestuck, not in the context of sburb.

in the context of sburb, vriska is a hero. she saves the day with her relevance and sacrifice, to and for the story of homestuck. that is what is considered a hero; someone who contributes themselves to the story, someone who fights lord english, someone who wins the game. dave is heroic, because he fights for his friends, he doesnt really care about "fighting the bad guy" he just wants to be himself and live his life with the people he loves. remember quotes like, "im not a hero, my bro was, john is, im not." or "maybe i never wanted to be a knight of time. maybe id rather just be like, the dave of guy. you know just some dude."

daves primary struggle is being relevant when he would rather not be. he wants to take to the sidelines. and the resolution to his internal conflict is refusing to fight lord english, refusing to be the hero who saves the day as he was supposedly destined to be.

now what is davesprites primary internal conflict? its made pretty clear to us that davesprite struggles with the shift from being a hero who everyone relies on, to being a hardly relevant game piece. after what he went through in the original timeline, and having to sacrifice his reality to save his friends, he is cast to the side. he went from having more responsibility and control than any other dave we know, to having practically none at all. he is alienated from his original purpose. this dave was a hero, and had it taken away from him. this dave did everything that made vriska a hero; he made sacrifices for the sake of the story and winning the game. in the new timeline, he is the dave who fights jack noir with bro. he is the dave who fights the bad guy, THIS DAVE is the hero. this is the knight of time. but hes not allowed to be. hes not the knight of time anymore, hes just davesprite.

so we have a main character who doesnt want to be a main character, and we have his side character variant who wants to be a main character because that was his original purpose. and now neither are content. if dave and davesprite were to switch places, both would be happy i bet. but they cant. so now what?

how does davesprite resolve his issues?

he struggles to make friends with john and jade, despite having sacrificed everything for them. they dont see him as the real dave and here again we see the same problem we had with hal and dirk; who is the true dave? and davesprite struggles a lot, because instead of fighting for the role, he immediately accepts that he isnt "dave" anymore. and it sends him into a depression. he disconnects from himself and prioritizes his friends safety and winning the game. he sort of just.. gives up.

and again, the solution here is for davesprite to become his own person. to be relevant, to be a hero, he has to not be dave. he has to become his own person- but he doesnt. not immediately. and not by himself. hal makes the decision to be his own person, but at least initially, davesprite does not. he deals with a lot of depression while hes on the ship. he desperately wants to be dave, but he cant be; there already is a dave, a dave who is fundamentally different, a dave who chooses narrative control over being a hero, while all davesprite knows is being a hero.

davesprite cant be dave in order to be a hero, but it takes an external force, a drastic change, for him to realize that. becoming davepetasprite. davesprite merges with nepeta and they become their own person. troll. bird. ..sprite. and in doing so, both davesprite and nepeta! both gain the narrative presence they both wanted and needed in order to shine. a character born from struggling in irrelevance finally get what they need when they fight lord english, a character born from the opposite.

davesprite needed to become his own person to separate from dave, yes, but more specifically, davesprite needed to be a hero.

there is a great video about dave and his relationship with heroism that also covers a lot of what i said about davesprite and davepeta, its called "The Destiny of Dave Strider" by Casey Jarmes and if you havent watched it i highly recommend it, it gave me a grasp on understanding daves character that i hadnt quite had previously. i repeated a lot of his points, half unintentionally, and then rewatched the video and realized just how heavily it had effected my view on dave haha.

thats.. actually about it, though! i think i finally managed to say all i wanted to say that i didnt when i wrote the original post.

i feel like theres smth to say about the relationship between dirk and hal compared to the relationship between dave and davesprite. like i dont know what, but theres parallels and differences that i think are interesting, and you could use them to come to some kind of interesting conclusion about the differences between dirk and dave

hal was created to be a tool for dirk to use for convenience and to utilize as an upperhand in sburb (multitasking mostly) hal did not want to exist as a tool. hal wanted to exist as the person using the tool but got the short end of the stick by pure chance and has to live with his actions after not having thought them through.

davesprite decided to become a tool for dave to use to have better chances at winning sburb. dont take this as me saying that davesprite enjoys being what he is. simply that he was prototyped by his own will.

hal is considered to be a false version of dirk. he is technically dirk, but he is different enough that dirks friends do not perceive him the same way, and in some cases, do not consider him their friend.

davesprite is considered to be a fake dave. not that anyone doubts the validity of his existence as Dave Strider; more-so that people consider dave to be "the real dave" and davesprite to be an iteration of him, despite them both being real daves who lived different lives.

dirk and hal have an antagonistic relationship. they accuse the other of being exactly the same, while sometimes switching to claiming they are the superior version - dirk for his existence in the physical plane and being The Original, and hal for his intelligence and capabilities as a digital being with access to any information he desires in an instant.

dave and davesprite have a very subtle relationship. we assume davesprite struggles with feeling inferior to the alpha timeline dave, but dave doesnt reflect those feelings. dave sees davesprite as simply another him, maybe since hes used to meeting other versions of himself. they are generally friendly to each other, davesprite offers dave any information he might need about the game without being cryptic, but dave doesnt really take the offer. other than this, they dont interact all that much.

dirk and hals relationship is somewhat of a fight for dominance, constant low-blows, social gymnastics and psychological warfare, which reflects the self-loathing nature of dirk and his splinters.

dave and davesprites relationship has similar themes of inferiority, jealousy, and being seen as the "real dave" but its much more constructive and dave seems eager to assure davesprite of his validity.

maybe its representation of how dirk and dave deal with.. emotions? trauma? something like that. dirk is defensive and lashes out at others who he sees himself in, while dave is empathetic and reaches out to other iterations of himself because he understands how they feel. im not saying either is better than the other, just interested in how their personalities have an impact on how they react to having themselves reflected back at them.

you could also add jade onto this!! i was really interested in how she was so cruel to a reflection of herself despite how nice she normally is, and how she was able to recognize that about herself. shes somewhat like dirk in that sense, but i think shes more... self aware than him? something like that.

You took a deep breath, trying to not lash out on the waitress. Your chin placed in your palm, elbow on your table, staring down at your phone. Not one message from Kylo today, not even a ‘happy anniversary my love’. Or a ‘I’m so lucky to have you.’.

“Is your companion still coming?”

“I guess not,” you sighed, fighting off the tears welling in your eyes. Anger, betrayal, hurt coursing through your veins, how dare he? How dare he not remember, or even check his phone today? You had told him last week there was a dinner reservation.

“I’m so sorry ma’am,” your waitress gave you a sad grimace, “I’ll have the valet bring your car around.”

“Thank you.”

You say in the parking lot of the restaurant for thirty minutes. Maybe he would come in while you waited, because he didn’t forget you! But no, he never showed.

Promising yourself you wouldn’t cry, there was not use for them. No matter how many times you called Kylo, he didn’t answer. So, you were determined to show him how little you cared about him since his silence spoke volumes.

You stopped at a liquor store, grabbing some of your favorite vodka. Not like you didn’t have some at home, but the fresh wound required a fresh bottle.

In the elevator towards your penthouse you practiced calming breaths. You almost lost it in the parking lot, seeing Kylos Porsche right in his spot next to you. Thinking nothing of it when your car wasn’t there.

Poised over the doorknob, you steeled yourself for what was to come. Maybe he would be asleep, or doing work, or worse... maybe he had someone over.

Kylo hadn’t given you reason to doubt his fidelity before, always showering you with acts of love and devotion. Making sure you knew that he belonged to you, no one else.

But now...

“You’ve got this,” you whispered. Clutching your purse and vodka bottle to your chest, to stop yourself from charging at him. There would be zero benefit in making him mad, he would just fight with you until you were in tears and he punched something.

The door opened quickly, you slipped inside. Toeing your heels off next to his work shoes, so far so good. No unknown heels next to his, or different coats in the closet.

You padded past the kitchen and dining room, seeing the barest amount of life. Only a few lights were flicked on, evidence of him devouring whatever was in the Taco Bell bag on the counter. You rolled your eyes at it, he would’ve had real food if he checked his phone.

A loud slam spooked you, followed by Kylo yelling at something. His voice sounded slightly slurred, and his whiskey wasn’t on the fridge. “Great, he’s drunk,” you walked quietly towards the living room.

Unfortunately the sofa back was in direct view of the stairs, all you wanted to do was slink past him to go up and sob in the bathtub.

Thats it!

“Jesus christ,” Kylo boomed at the TV, “What kinda shit was that!”

You glanced at the screen, mistakenly voicing your groan of disappointment. It was an MMA fight, something he was too invested in. Kylos head snapped over to you, his face instantly irritated.

“Finally coming home?”

“Excuse me?”

He scoffed, taking a swig from his bottle, “I’m surprised you had the fucking nerve to come back here. After dinner with your lover.”

Your eyebrows shot to the roof, baffled by his anger towards you. He continued to glare at you, lips snarled up as he spat out more venom.

About how horrible you were to cheat on him.

How dare he think he could trust you?

After seven years together!

You had to look away, the tears no longer a threat but skimming down your cheeks.

Kylo scoffed at that, “Oh, what’s the matter? Cant handle being called out for being a fucking whore?”

With trembling lips and a wobbly chin, you trudged past him. Despite him continuing his assault, taking deep drinks between each bout. You padded up the stairs towards the bedroom. Ignoring him yelled at you to pack your shit.

Once the door was shut, you crumbled. Sobbing as loud as you could, no longer able to hold it in. Screaming through it as your body trembled with anger and deep depression. There was no stopping it, you let the tears flow as you ripped your gown off.

Twisting open the bottle and taking as big of a drink you could manage. Choking on it in your bout of sobbing, you sounded like a cat hacking up a furball.

Once you were naked, you went to the bathroom, vodka in hand. Crying harder when you saw your reflection. Face splotchy, stained it tears that ripped through your makeup. Your eyes were already puffed and blood shot, you were a wreck.

Your body went on auto pilot when filling the tub, throwing in bath bombs of soothing smells. Turning on the radio to some classical music, it seemed fitting for your hysterics.

Managing small sips between shuddered breaths, almost retching over the side when you took a wrong breath.

Apparently, during one of your coughing fits, darth tantrum decided to come upstairs. Throwing the bathroom door open with a scowl on his face, “What do you think you’re doing?”

You cried, bringing your knees to your chest so you could bury your face. Kylo didn’t like that, grabbing a handful of your hair to yank you up to face him. You screamed when he hoisted you to stand, bubbles and glitter dripping down your naked body.

“Why are you still in my fucking house,” he shook your head, “Huh?”

“Kylo...”

“You need to pick your shit up before I throw it off the balcony-“

“YOU MISSED OUR ANNIVERSARY DINNER!”

Kylo stopped, looking at you like you were speaking in tongues. Your voice was hoarse from tears, but you could accept anymore abuse, “I wasn’t-I wasn’t out with another man,” you gasped as his fist tightened.

“What?” he whispered, small and sharp.

“I called you,” you reached behind your head yanking Kylos hand from your hair, “I called and texted, to remind you that it was tonight. And you didn’t show up, you-you-you forgot about me!”

“I didn’t-,”

“Yes you did!”

Silence.

“I’ve tried to contact you all day, and you’ve ignored me. And I sat at our favorite restaurant where, by the way was our first DATE, for over an hour!”

He swallowed slowly, unable to look you in the eye. His face instead looking at the bubbles, you trudged on, determined to rub salt in his wounds.

“And then, I find you here. In our home, drunk enough to accuse me of cheating on you! Drunk enough to call me names and insults all without considering my feelings.”

“I-,”

“Why would I expect you to? Nothings ever about me, it’s always about Kylo. And if Kylo doesn’t know whats happening, then that means it’s my fault.”

“That’s not-,”

“Don’t even fucking try,” you stepped over the lip, snatching a towel to warm yourself. Kylo’s eyes followed you, looking from your toes to meet your puffed eyes.

He visible cringed at you, mouth popping open to defend himself but you refused.

“You know what,” you mumbled, “You fucking get out, go hang out with your friends or some other bullshit because what you did to me is unacceptable.”

Kylo followed you out of the bathroom, stumbling not only on his words but his body. “No-no love, I didn’t mean it! My phone hasn’t been working today I’m sorry, I know you didn’t cheat on me...”

“Enough.”

You lowered your head, taking a step back from his reaching hands to hold you. That wouldn’t work this time, you were done.

“Take some clothes and get out.”

But if say that you live in Miami, Florida (the most expensive place in the state to get auto insurance, and you claim that you live just outside of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and then have an accident in Miami, Florida, the insurance company could say FRAUD and VOID your policy as if it never existed. Because you had an uninsured accident, you would probably lose your driver’s license until you made the other driver whole again! Short of that, it usually wouldn’t be considered Material, and they would back bill you for premium OR give you a refund.

yes and no.

if you are using your insurance and crash the rental car, you can be liable for the complete cost of repairs AND lost revenue while it is being repaired. this can be full price of the rental all the time it is being repaired. this can be a ton of cash. also if you chip the windshield the rental co can charge you for a complete new windshield or repair the that one. your insurance may or may not cover any or all of this. needless to say you will have to deal with it one way or another.

if you buy the EXPENSIVE rental car insurance you are covered for all damages including all the “little scratches”

i was 21 and rented a car to go to a job interview 2 day rental. well i put almost 1600 miles on the car. when i returned the rental agent was mad i had put that many miles on an unlimited rental. so she went out and nitpicked everything …. i just watched as she pointed bugs out as dents and everything else. when we went in she disappeared a returned with a 2400.00 repair dollar bill. and demanded how i was going to pay. i just said i paid the 15.00 for the full insurance and that would cover it , she grabbed the rental agreement and read it, her face turned red. and i left….

4.Is it okay to not have car insurance for a few months ?

Probably expecting a bit of heat for this one but here goes.. lol.

I live in Spain and about 14 years ago or so I was forced under pressure to get rid of the Suzuki jeep… which looked a fair bit like this I suppose. No power steering and the uncanny ability to just spin right around on itself in slightly greasy roads….

UK plates and only came with an export certificate from UK. Seems the guy who brought it over was intending to change it over to Spanish plates but never got round to it. Swapped the Suzuki plus 3 grand and off we went. First time I had driven an automatic, was a joy and no mistake…proper built like a tank too.. awesome car.

Drove that car for almost 8 years on that export certificate, no MOT and insurance papers I made my self on the computer by copying a mates documents and changing the pertinent details. Spanish cops had at that time.. and possibly still now, no way of actually checking the veracity of insurance papers, if they looked legit, they were accepted.

I understand that in the last few years DVLA having softened a little and offer a yes or no answer to Spanish enquiries as to whether a UK registered car has a valid MOT or not… no other info is given. I assume thats data protection at work or some such. Its that yes or no that has gotten rid of a load of UK plated cars from Spanish roads, now you actually have to have one, so either you know someone who has an MOT garage and can produce one for you or you drive back to get it done, which isnt usually viable.

So ye, its ok to not have insurance for a few months or even a few years, as long as you can get away with it.

5.Can realtors write off car insurance ?

It depends on the method they choose to use to write off their car expenses. If their car is used less than 50% for business, they must use the mileage method which includes all operating expenses including insurance. If they use it more than 50% they may choose to use the actual expense method or the mileage method. If they use the actual expense method they can deduct the business % of gas, repairs, interest, insurance, depreciation, etc. Either method requires them to keep a mileage log.

6.Does my car insurance cover my friend when they borrow my car for a day?

In the UK read your certifcate of motor insurance.

If it says

“Any person driving on the policyholder’s behalf or with their permission” or WTTE then they will be covered. (There may be age limits in the schedule of insurance but these cannot appear on the certificate). (Also cover will be for pleasure use only unless the wording on the certificate specifically includes business use by your friend).

If it does not say that then, unless your friend is named on the certificate of insurance, they are not covered under your policy.

This does not necessarily mean that they are uninsured when they drive your car, since they may have an insurance policy covereing their own car with the “driving other cars” extension. “The policyholder may drive, with the owner’s permission a car not belonging to the policyholder nor hired to him under a hire-purchase agreement”. If this clause is in effect it only covers their Road Traffic Act Liability and does not cover loss or damage to the car whilst in their control. Note that it is your duty to check this. If your friend doesn’t have such cover then you are ‘aiding and abetting’ a motor offence of driving without insurance - offence code IN12 - which will substantially increase your car insurance premium - despite the FCA announcements today.

7.Can a 19-year-old afford car insurance ?

Driving a car is a privilige, not a right.

Unless you are in gainful employment and living at home, I suspect you will have to rely on the bank of mum and dad. But if you think getting insurance at 19 is hard - imagine trying to get it at 17 and 18.

Many teenagers go with a company that assesses the premium based on information sent to them by a ‘black box’ added to the car. People who drive sensibly and only durting the day pay a lot less than those who drive recklessley and at night - even if the latter have no accidents.

The first year is by far the worst. If you go claim free for a year then no only will you be 20 rather than 19 - but you will have one years no claims discount - which will knock about a third off your premium.

(Oh and don’t try and pretend the car you drive is owned and registered with your parents and that your mother is the main user. Insurance companies are not stupid. People who own a vehicle one or two years old don’t normally decide to buy a second vehcile that is 10 years old for their own use.)

8.What are the worst car insurance companies in America ?

As others have alluded to, the whole insurance cabal and racket is on par with a level or two less integrity than the drug cartels run in Mexico and South America.

Still, some insurance companies make an effort to comply with law and regulation, while others just have a standard operating procedure to act like bad-faith criminals.

Without knowing where in the world that you live, nor your age, sex marital status, other drivers in your household, driving records, and car or cars you trying to insure.

You can't save time or money by asking an ambiguous non informational question here. You will have to do it the old fashioned way, calling around to agents or companies. You can also go online to the companies and agents but NOT TO THOSE SITES THAT PROMISE TO TELL YOU THAT THEY'LL TELL YOU EVERY COMPANY'S RATES. That is a LIE plus you are putting yourself at risk for identity theft, and here are the reasons:

None of these sites has ALL of the companies. They only show those companies paying them to be there.

Even if they show an Allstate, a Progressive and/or Geico, these companies all have multiple rating levels for different types of drivers from preferred for the very best risks down to theworst risks out there. Those kinds companies might only have one or two of their rating levels on each of these sites, so if you don't qualify for those that rating tiers you won't be given a rate from those companies. Likewise if the company that truly is cheapest for you didn't pay for that website to show their rates, you won't see them.

They will sell your personal information to multiple agents and/or companies. This means that you will be bombarded by people trying to sell you auto insurance.

And since they don't check that the person indeed buying the leads are insurance agents all of your personal information could end up in the hands of identity thieves.

Brainstorming about my yokai watch ocs: Dimmy and Gorgeous Ambassador, the most cutest family

* My Dimmy's name is Blythe and they are nonbinary. Gorgeous Ambassador is male and i dont have a name for him yet. I was thinking maybe try and make up a dub name for kageusuo (anime exclusive pre evolution) that sounds like it could have been his nickname as a human? Cos his story is that he used to be a wandering mercenary in ye olde ninja times, i feel like itd be fitting.

* Blythe is the main partner of my protagonist in my yokai watch lp, basically the jibanyan of the anime of my heart. Their personality is mostly similar to the Dimmy in the anime, but i feel like theyre maybe older and more powerful than the average Dimmy? Like a weak low evolution yokai thats stayed unevolved for centuries and is actually more skilled and world weary than you'd assume. Protag just got lucky that she bumped into this one super magikarp, lol! Also i like to draw them looking more teenage age by just taking the regular Dimmy design and making the tail extra super long. They stand roughly twice as tall as the protagonist and can wrap around her shoulders like a scarf :3 Blythe is however totally unaware of their super powerful mega skill and is very self depreciating and low confidence. But Mallory totally sees them as a cool older sibling mentor figure and is always trying to figure out ways to make their tol squiggle friend feel included and valued :3

* the way Gorgeous Ambassador comes into the picture is that he was actually the same sort of figure to Blythe! Back in the ninja era Blythe was partners with another human, but he passed away in tragic circumstances and it led to their current depressed self. However he actually reincarnated as a yokai and has been trying to find his lil sibling ever since! I feel like he was a failure samurai who tried to protect people but was so weak he never could. And he was always broke and starving and begging to do any sort of miscellaneous jobs for anyone or even let them punch him in the stomach for a few coins. And he had just as much self confidence issues as Blythe but he coped with it by becoming a compulsive liar instead, always boasting and trying to sell himself as some legendary hero to keep from facing the truth. Since Blythe was a cute lil babby yokai at the time, they always believed their human master's tall tales and looked up to him, which made him feel really guilty and try harder to work on becoming someone this kid could be genuinely proud of.

* Blythe was first born as a household spirit. Cos i was thinking about what Dimmy would be before it became a ninja, since the medallium description says it 'got a job as a ninja to put its powers to use', so like it isnt really a ninja yokai but just a yokai thats a ninja? I guess?? I figured that the idea of being an invisible shadow supporter fit with household spirits/domovoi/zakishi warishi (probably mispelled that) and the various other similar creatures in mythologies all over the world. Just the idea that theres some sort of being that protects your house and if you give it offerings and take good care of the place it will protect you and your family. So yeah its my headcanon that thats how Dimmys are born, and that theres probably many variants wearing different outfits inspired by whatever type of humans they guarded. Tho yeh ninja is a job that works really well with their abilities so it makes sense itd be the primary representative of the species in the games.

* Human-dude-who-would-become-gorgeous-ambassador first met Blythe when one of his various failed attempts to get a job happened to cross paths with the family Blythe was guarding. This family didnt believe in such old suspicions and never gave offerings to their household spirit, so it stayed small and weak and was almost fading away. Baby blythe didnt know why their humans didnt love them, even though they tried so hard to bring good luck and clean the fireplace and stuff. So they felt a sense of kinship with this poor failure samurai who was begging for food on their doorstep. The humans of the household spat in his face and turned him away empty handed, but the tiny yokai snuck some rice from the pantry and gave it to him. They were surprised that he was able to see them, and he gave them the first thank you they'd ever had!

* Addendum note: i feel like gorgeous samurai was cursed with being able to see yokai from a young age and its part of whay made him so determined to become strong enough to protect people. Perhaps his biological family was killed by an evil yokai and nobody ever believed what he saw? And he wandered japan trying to save other people and always failing and being blamed for what happened, since nobody could see the real culprit. This reputation of being a liar when he wasnt = he ended up actually lying about how he was totally fine and not sad and also great and not hating himself. Its not really something he can control anymore, its like a stress response and it keeps getting him in trouble but he cant stop. "Yes sure i can save the day, i'm awesome!" only makes things worse when he inevitably loses again, whic only makes his self confidence worse and traps him further in the lies...

* so anyway, he became friends with this lil babby yokai and kept coming back to visit them and tell more tall tales of his grand adventures. And eventually he managed to help Blythe come out of their shell a little and agree to leave this house where they were only fading away. Haunting him instead, the lil shadow soon flourished back to full health from being loved for the first time. And their new big bro would always give them the biggest share of all the food even when he was starving, and always wasted his money buying things for them, and knitted them lil scarfs and just HE WAS A GOODEST BIG BRO! They also made a great team, and he was finally able to fight evil yokai with a yokai of his own helping him out. Things were good for a few years!

* Eventually though, they faced a foe too strong for them to defeat. (Not sure yet who it is, cos it could be cool if they faced it again in the present day for a rematch?) Blythe's human friend ran into a burning building to save the people being attacked by this yokai, but because he was already gravely injured he didnt manage to make it out in time. And blythe was just a tiny bab who wasnt strong enough to carry his unconcious body to safety. So their last memories of him are of crying and begging him to wake up as the house fell apart all around them, and eventually the flames swallowed him up. the tiny yokai just ran and ran away from their shame, and never saw an ashy figure rising from the ruins and calling their name...

* eventually after years of struggling alone and lacking meaning in life, Blythe had a chance meeting with our protagonist and thus begins my yokai watch 1 lets play! At the same time their yokaified big bro is still out there searching for them, and maybe one day theyll meet again...

* also i wanna go with the pre-evo the anime added of Gorgeous Ambassador evolving from a sad depressed vampire lookin dude. Even if the whole circumstances here are vastly different! But we dont really have any info on what kageusuo's powers or stats would be, so i guess i'm free to mess around with that? I like the idea of it being vampiric just cos i feel it looks like that. But instead of drinking blood maybe its a hunger for shadows? Which is actually beneficial to humans and makes them less overshadowed aka the opposite of Dimmy's power. So if you ever feel that you're radiating charisma with perhaps a slightly lighter shadow, maybe youve been inspirited by this guy! And then the evolution into Gorgeous Ambassador doesnt actually change anything at all, except just looking more fashionable and confident (which is absolutely a lie). * oh and in this interpretation the way that kageusuo would be integrated into the gameplay is that Gorgeous Ambassador would get a new ability that lets him switch forms in battle, rather than it being a separate yokai. (Tho would still have a separate entry in the medallium just for conveinience of being able to view both character models whenever you want) Stuff that causes low confidence would make him poof between forms, and itd just be something like more attack based vs defense based, or maybe having two separate personality stats so its like his AI is slightly more versatile than the usual frustratingness of most yokai? Srsly im still so annoyed at so many yokai that have two mutually exclusive moves and the ai is stupid about using them at the wrong time to cancel each other out. Like how Dimmy can be given the AI personality to focus on attacking and thus take advantage of its auto-skill to be good at dodging aka a glass cannon. BUT also one of its skills gives that same status to an ally instead, which by definition takes it away from itself cos 'dont target this other guy' means there arent many other options. So you cpuld alternatively play dimmy as a supporter who exclusively protects others with that ability BUT the annoying part is that even when you set an AI profile to one particular move it still only makes it LIKELY to do that and not guaranteed. So every now and again your attacking dimmy will cancel its own buff to protect an enemy, or your supporting dimmy will forget to support abd instead buff itself despite not having the attack stat build to take advantage of it. Plus you cant have both and switch between modes mid battle, so thatd be REALLY useful if one yokai actually could do that, and also could change stats to fit! Im not sure how to give it a trigger condition thatd let you sorta change at will but also not be 100% easy and overpowered. I was thinking tying it to his confidence could mean missed attacks turn him into kageusuo and critical hits turn into gorgeous? But thatd be TOO uncontrollable...

* oh actually i think maybe i'll nickname him Amber! Just cos my brain just mispronounced gorgeous ambassador and It Kinda Works??? Also its a kind of name that sounds very pretty but also has connotations of gentle shyness, i think. Matches the duality of his fake boastfulness vs his true self doubt.

* Oh and i also thought of maybe having Blythe evolve into Casanono, even though you cant do that in canon. I feel like turning into a pretty humanoid would be a good way to symbolize their growing confidence ans casanono/casanuva has a big nonbinary aesthetic in my opinion. Plus of course the fact casanono is a variabt of a confident yokai thats actyally shy. Originally older brother dude was gonna be a casanuva to match, until i heard about Gorgerous Ambassador and decided it fits him better (especially with that new anime form!) So now im thinking maybe have Blythe be both casanono and casanuva at once, similar to their bro's form switching? But itd be more like casanuva is a rare super saiyan esque powerup when they experience rare moments of confidence. Im pretty much just doing this because SADLY casanono is a joke character who is literally mechanically forced to be useless in battle. Its ability makes it harder to catch yokai which ia already goddamn difficult, and it wastes a skill slot too. As opposed to Dimmy who has a similar personality of always being ignored and depressed but its abilities are actually beneficial. Itd suck to go from Blythe being my mvp to being unable to use them at all, so this would be a way to still always draw them as casanono in comics to match their actual personality, but using casanuva in battle cos.. Well.. Yeah its the functional one of the two. Level-5 if youre listening please make casanono useable in future games!! Casanuva is absolutely the worst one personality wise so it sucks that the game agrees with his ego that he's great and also punches his depressed counterpart into the bin of ignoreness DESPITE BEING SUPER SYMPATHETIC AND RELATEABLE AND ALSO CUTER COLOURSCHEME

Patrick leaned against the front of his car, wiping the motor oil off his long fingers and watching the Tozier girl while she helped their classmates. Her hair was rolled up into a tight bun, the dark green button up she had worn over her t shirt all day tied at her waist while she peered under the hood of Dylan Pram and Cole Harris’ project car.

She was talking some auto mechanic nonsense and pointing out where their problems mostly laid, the two dipshits at her side feigning cluelessness. Patrick knew their game, others in the class had tried it once or twice too, but to no avail. He would know best, [First Name] was fucking oblivious when it came to flirting.

Dylan stepped closer to her as she rummaged under the hood, and Patrick’s fingers flexed under the rag he rubbed them with when the jock rested a firm hand on her lower back and spoke in her ear.

He must have said something utterly hilarious, because the trashmouth choked on a laugh and straightened. Cole shared their smile, but his eyes connected with Dylan, a silent conversation running between them as Patrick’s partner parted from them with a wave and a soft laugh.

“Nice one, Dylan. Remember to clean it up when you’re done, dude.” She waved them off, coming back to Patrick with flushed cheeks from her laughter. Behind her, eyes and sly grins sought her back, and Patrick ignored them, smirking at the Toizer girl when she arrived.

“You’re being too friendly with them, Tozier.” He said quietly, tossing the dirtied rag over the top of his tool box. “They’re going to think you got the hots for ‘em.”

“Who? Cole and Dylan?” Her lips tilted in a cute little lopsided grin. “I thought they were going to announce their engagement soon, I had no idea they swung for the other team.”

He allowed a laugh, but a certain fondness for the girl startled him. She was starting to really soften him up, and day by day he found himself leaning closer and speaking more frequently with her. Gone were the earlier days of the truly antagonistic ways since Henry had dropped his grudge towards her cousin and his friends, and Patrick had grown used to falling instep beside her while walking to class.

He guessed that this would be called friendship.

So that was clearly why a strange fire built in his stomach when he caught Dylan eyeing his partner with particularly hungry eyes, because she was his friend…Then again, his underlying pining for her also applied to that, but he would never admit that aloud.

No, he was a good actor. He could win a god damn academy award for his patience and tactful thinking. Patrick could keep [First Name] in the dark over his, well he hated to say feelings, but yes, feelings, for her.

So he frowned, and easily slipped into the role of a concerned friend, nudging her with his elbow as she went to sit on the hood of the Monte Carlo.

“What?” She mirrored his frown, resting her ankle across her knee and drumming painted nails on her jeans.

“Don’t think we’re the only bad guys around here, Princess. There’s plenty of sleazy fuckers hiding behind a football jersey in Derry.” He warned with earnest, but was met with a scoff.

“Dylan and Cole are fucking nimrods, and they couldn’t fix a lightbulb together if they tried.” She waved him off as the class bell rang. “I’ll see you at the bonfire tonight, yeah?”

Patrick had done his duty, he had given her the passing warning. It was up to her to listen, he supposed.

“Yeah. I’m bringing some good shit too, hope you’re not as fucking uppity as you were last time.” He bent his lean form down, collecting his leather jacket that was draped over the hood as Tozier slipped off the front and snatched up her backpack. “See you around eight.”

“Adios, Hockstetter. Don’t keep Bowers waiting.”

She left, patting Belch’s arm as she headed out past him and Henry. She said something in passing, making Belch smile after her. Henry watched her go as well, a certain gleam in his eyes as Patrick came to meet them by one of the open garage doors.

“Glad we don’t have to worry about being ambushed with a fucking tire iron now.” The bigger boy said, pulling his varsity jacket over his shoulders. The three watched her go, her back growing smaller as she jogged across the fields to get to the parking lot.

Henry huffed indignantly. “She was going to be a fucking problem, that’s the only reason I’m not tormenting her little shit of a cousin. Cigs?”

He threw a hand out to Patrick, demanding the taller boy share his pack. Patrick complied, digging around the pockets of his jacket before tossing him the pack, the trio of boys heading across the field as students began to file out of the school in mobs.

“She’s a good work partner too,” Belch said absently, the spring air nipping his cheeks pink. “I got an A on our last assignment, my coach and Ma were in tears, swear.”

“Yeah, whatever. Goody two shoe bitches like her are a dime a dozen, but I’m not gonna deal with another run in with her.” Henry muttered, lighting his cigarette after a few tries and stuffing Patrick’s pack in his own back pocket, something that the lankier boy would not forget before the day was through.

“Sounds like you got a crush, Henry.” Patrick dared to say, eyes lazily raking over the boy next to him. Henry tensed, shoulders under his bomber jacket rigid as he sent a glare to Patrick.

They both held a steely gaze before Belch interrupted, announcing the arrival of their smallest and blondest, Vic.

“Hey! Did you get the part?” Belch called out to the victorious looking boy, who nodded eagerly.

Henry took the opportunity to look away, but Patrick chose to keep a dark look on his friend. The rest of his pals dissolved into talk over Vic’s newest accomplishment, Henry berating him and Belch defending him, while Patrick ignored it all. He was itching to get to the canalside and have a good time, if only just to abolish the jealousy he felt twisting in his gut.

He didn’t have time for that shit.

Patrick sat the closest to the bonfire, the heat curling the ends of his hair, but significantly warming his fingers that had numbed from the cold of a spring night in Maine. There had been a girl at his side at some point, but she was long gone, having moved on to someone who was more interested in her than staring into the depths of flames.

Henry and Belch had raced off elsewhere the moment the four had found the party, Vic staying close to Patrick for a while until he was led away by a few drama friends of his. Patrick was happy to be alone in all honesty, it made dealing and keeping his high all the easier. The party raged around him, fellow classmates dancing and drinking away, high on the drugs he supplied or drunk off cheap liquor and nasty beer. The music that blasted through speakers was crackled and heavy, something with a strange beat and sliced with dark lyrics. Patrick enjoyed it, sitting by himself and waiting for his next costumer to find him.

He felt a lovely haze, his high improving his mood tenfold. There was a sloppy kiss mark on his neck, but he could barely recall who had given it to him. It was perfection.

And then someone plopped down beside him.

“You’re a hard guy to find, Hockstetter.” Drawled a voice to his side.

“Am I?” Patrick said loftily, slowly turning to look to his new companion, and then felt his nostrils flare upon recognizing him. “Harris.”

The brunette bristled, and Patrick realized he had turned to face him without a mask, instead showing him the slack and emotionless state he normally had when he was alone. He brought it back, and Cole was set to ease at the surprisingly friendly smile he was given.

“So how much?” He asked, and dug out his wallet, opening the folds and showing off a pretty stack of cash.

Patrick felt limply at his side, finding his backpack and unzipping it. “What do you want? I’ve got weed, coke, E, a few poppers and a few tabs of acid if you wanna have a real good time.”

Cole sat still for a second, eyes darting around the contents of the bag. He licked dry lips before lowering his voice, barely audible over the roar of the flames.

“Do you have any… Roofies?”

“Why.” The dealer snapped, more forceful than needed.

“Do you or don’t you?” Cole insisted, keeping his voice low even as Patrick’s raised. It wasn’t as if anyone would hear them, but it didn’t matter to either of them- they both knew Cole has crossed a line.

“I’ve got some Molly, and that’s the closest you’re getting, Harris.” Patrick dug out a small bag of violet pills, smacking them to Cole’s chest. “Don’t be a fucking idiot. Thats a gram, so give me sixty.”

Cole eyed him, hand raising to take the drugs offered. “You sure-”

“Sixty bucks, then fuck off.” Patrick sneered, and snatched the twenties that were held out to him, stuffing the money in his pocket.

“Jesus, fuck. Fine.” Cole stood, and shuffled away, pocketing his drugs before casting his dealer a nasty little glare.

Patrick watched him retreat with his tail between his legs, digging into his bag for a joint. He lit it and took heavy hits, the smoke tasting musky but sweet. The haze returned eventually, distracting him as he sat there. He took patient drags, letting the smoke curl and twist from his mouth, ignoring the worry that scratched at his thoughts, it wasn’t his business. Harris wasn’t his problem.

But Tozier was.

He stood then, hauling his bag over his shoulder and walking over the rocks and gravel that crunched under his feet, weaving between crowds of grinding teens. What time was it? Where was Tozier, he hadn’t seen her yet.

Fuck.

Somehow, through his high and the distraction of the dancing and drunkenness, he found Belch. The boy was working on a drink of his own, the brown bottle in his hand nearly empty and his face flushed.

“What time is it?” Patrick demanded, Belch blinking in surprise as the urgency. The boys he stood with part of his football team and seeming confused at Patrick’s arrival, but they welcomed him with a round of nods.

“Uh,” Belch shook his arm, the watch he normally wore glinting in the far off fire light. “It’s like eight forty-seven, why?”

Patrick’s gaze swept the heads of their classmates, but he couldn’t find hers. “Have you seen Tozier?”

“No?” Belch said, caught off guard as Patrick spun away with a curse. “Hey! Wait, dude!”

But Patrick was gone, slinking away and now targeting Harris or Pram. A blond and brunette pair, who wore blazers and had proper preppy haircuts.

[First Name] was never late. To anything. She arrived nearly twenty minutes early for class, she turned in her work a day in advance and had never left him or the others hanging if she agreed to meet them up for a meal at the malt shop.

So there was no way she was late to the spring bonfire, not if she had assured him she would be there at eight. No, she would have arrived at seven forty-five.

He caught a mullet in his peripheral vision, as well as the arm candy Henry was desperately sucking face with.

“Henry.” Patrick jerked his shoulder, tearing him from liplock. The girl, a senior the dark haired boy recognized as Carly Henderson, whined from loss of contact.

“The fuck, Hockstetter!” Henry hissed, grinding his teeth as he rolled his head to face his friend. “I’m fuckin’ busy.”

“I can’t find Tozier.”

Henry’s brows furrowed. “I saw her earlier with Harris and that fuckwit Pram, by the coolers.”

Patrick’s jaw set, and he dug his heels into the rocks, sprinting away. He shoved aside a few people, the coolers in his sight. It was then he saw Tozier, leaning heavily against Dylan Pram and in the middle of a fit of giggles, her eyes glazed and face burning. She held a solo cup, the contents sloshing out her cup as Cole Harris tilted it back to her mouth, encouraging her to drink.

“Chug! Chug! Chug!” The pair cheered, and she downed the contents, crushing the cup with a valiant cry.

He slowed, coming up on them slow and steady, a predatory tilt to his shoulders as his eyes burned hotter than the logs of the bonfire. Cole was the first to see him, and his expression flattered a mere second before he paled considerably.

Pram was oblivious, carelessly crafting heavy touches to the girls waist and hips, the hands trying to wander further before Cole shot a hand out and gripped the sleeve of his blazer, catching his attention.

“Well, what do we have here?” Patrick announced his arrival with a dangerous tone.

His friend gasped, and she tore herself from the blond, taking a few steps to stumble to the man who had inevitably caused this mess, wrapping her arms around his skinny torso. “Patrick! I’ve been looking all over for you!”

Protectively, no, posessively, Patrick secured her in his arms. He threaded strands of her hair between his ringed fingers, rubbing a comforting thumb to her scalp. “You found me, Princess.”

She nuzzled her face to his chest and he held her there, grey-green eyes dancing with malevolence at the boys just feet from them.

It wouldn’t take a genius to see she was high, and higher than he had ever seen her. She had always been a lightweight, barely touching a beer and still stumbling around like she had drank a bar dry after a few sips. He’d given her a hit of a joint once and been entertained for hours as she babbled on about Star Trek with Belch and professional wrestling with Henry.

Those had been good times, he had smiled an actual smile once or twice during those times. But now? Seeing her fucked up on drugs he had sold some fuckwit jock with intent to do the worst? He saw red.

“You smell nice.” She murmured, and it was only her voice that stopped from him slugging the frozen pair in front of them. She drew him back from his rage, and he pressed a kiss to the crown of her head, his hold tightening.

“Let’s get you some water, sweetheart.” Patrick said, and he turned with her, the hollow glare he shot over his shoulder sending a clear message.

‘I’ll remember this.’

He left the jocks there to stew in horror, their fates sealed. He’d be paying them a visit in the next coming days, but for now, he had a Trashmouth to attend to.

Kacchako Fanfic: New Prey Chapter 37

~~~ Unspoken Truths ~~~

He felt the other side of the bed leave again. Again he pretended to be asleep. And again he noticed that the time was around midnight.

Again.. for the last month and a half already.

Again... He heard the whole story coming from her mouth. At first she told him she got called in this late at night. And now he was told that she was given a work schedule of the night time shifts. Night time shifts that didn't involve any huge villain interactions besides the usual car thieves and regular alley fights. That was work for lower class heroes from lower status hero agency. Not work for her. She is a graduate from UA High school for fucks sake, wanted from ten major top league hero agencies, this wasn't work for her.

She works the night shift and he works the day shift. He gets the big cases, the "wonder duo" has defeated and captured a handful of big case villains lately, the world is quickly accepting the new heroes from All Mights agency, hell the other day he could have sworn he saw a young group of boys wear Ground Zero brand shirts.

He began to think about the first time she told him she got called in from Todoroki. She said it was punishment for missing the villain case and not being there on time. Well if thats the fucken case then why the hell is Endeavor assigning her to low ass rating cases of capturing a petty thief who took a bag of damn chips.

The whole thing made absolutely no damn sense to him. And why the hell did she only work with Todoroki. He finally gave the icy turd some damn respect and now all of a sudden she only works with him. Hell even the damn zombie guy was getting some media attention.

Thats why Bakugou hated being alone at the middle of the night, noticing his fiancee leave to "work." He was alone with his damn thoughts. Trying to convince himself that he was having a bitch moment doubting everything good in his life.

Alone in his own mind, studying his little interactions with Ochako carefully. When he left for work earlier the other day, he opened the door and saw her looking for her keys not he other side. She didn't seem to be hiding anything, she didn't look unhappy. She smiled. She gave me a hug. She told me to have great day and yapped that she was going to make a "super awesome Uraraka original meal" for dinner. She gave me a kiss that day and smiled. She never made it home that day to make him dinner, instead worked overtime. But that was one of the few interactions they had and that was days ago.

To him, her actions didn't seem that she was unhappy with their relationship. Either he is overreacting like a damn nanny or she was a great actor as she is a hero.

Should he even be fucking considered of the worst case scenario? Hell if he is wrong then he knows for damn sure that he started an unnecessary argument with Ochako if he is wrong. No he is wrong. For the first time in his whole life, he tried to convince himself he was wrong, there is nothing wrong with the situation.

She is scheduled to have a day off today, just like him. But she got called into work again, just like her last day off. He was going to tell her to stop wasting her skill and potential on crappy cases of grand theft autos wannabes. She should tell her boss to give her the bigger cases with a different schedule. After all any agency would take Uravity in their agency in a heart beat and surely he knows that Endeavor must have some common sense in his thick head to at least know that she has other options if she isn't happy with her career at his agency.

His alarm went off. Crap. He wasted hours of precious sleep bitching.

He still had a couple hours before she was supposed to come home, he just hated spending his free time in bed, especially in a bed without his damn fiancee.

His phone went off, he was expecting to see a message from her not Kirishima, especially this early in the morning.

The red head sent him a link, probably another meme or damn nonsense.

Which is what is was wishing it was after what he saw was it was.

HOT NEWS?! Is Endeavor's new heroes the next POWER COUPLE?!

was the name of the web article he saw. Along with pictures of the "power couple" posing and a couple photos of them capturing a low life criminal. Some photos looked like they were a little too close but nothing alarming.

It disgusted him. This was obviously a poor attempt on Endeavors agency to try to rile the media up with this nonsense, they should fucking hire a better advertising team cause this is obviously bullshit.

Its a poor attempt on their end all right. Even though he knows its garbage, the media seems to be loving it. Which is bullshit. Ochako isn't a show girl. She should be getting attention from defeating villains, saving people, not given attention for being one of the two "power couple" this is ridiculous.

Kirishima texted: "What a load of lies huh?"

Bakugou responded with:"What a load of garbage is what it is."

After a couple hours of washing dishes and doing laundry Bakugou looked at the clock. 10 am. He doesn't start work until 12.

Uraraka should be back any time now.

The door bell rang.

"lost her keys huh." he said to himself.

But when he opened the door, he saw long black hair, instead of short brown hair.

"Eh? Who the hell are you?" he said

"Who am I? You know I was embarrassed to come here for silly answers, but you should at least have the decency to remember who I am." She said.

"Not a clue." He bluntly said.

she sighed and grabbed her hair to make it look like a pony tail.

"Eh pony tail? Why the hell are you here? Wait, how the fuck do you know where I live?" He asked.

"Its Momo in case you have forgotten my name for the handful of months its been since UA. I asked Jirou, who asked Kaminari to find out where you live to answer your question." Momo said.

He stared at her.

"Well now you are fucking here. So what the hell do you want." He said.

Momo looked down, looking rather unsure of herself.

"Am sorry I shouldn't have come here. Its a silly woman issue. Sorry for bothering you." She quickly said.

He stopped her.

"Really you came here just to tell me you are sorry for bothering me? Well right the hell now you are bothering me, why the fuck did you come here." He questioned.

She started to burn and felt very anxious.

"I just wanted to ask you.. if you are still in a relationship with Uraraka." She said.

"WHAT THE FUCK!?" He yelled.

"Why the hell would you ask that!?" He said.

she remained quiet.

Something was wrong.

Taken back by this weird conversation, he decided not to be a total ass.

"Yes we are. Now why ask that stupid question." He said.

"Well.. Shouto.." she said.

Looking at his surroundings he decided this was a conversation should be inside.

"Come in already, before my neighbors think am sort of villain." He said.

She looked sad but nodded.

They were in the living room. Momo sat down, while Bakugou decided to stand up

"Shouto hasn't been really talking to me lately, I know this sounds like nothing but it is. He has been shoving me off by cancelling dates with strange excuses or just ignores me." She says.

"Well maybe he.." Bakugou was cut off.

"He keeps saying that he suddenly got called in to work the night time shift in the quietness area of the city, there isn't nearly as much villains there in the outskirt of the city. But the work that has been done lately is something an intern can do or another agency that typically do this type of work." She said.

"heh, you mean lower status agencies, D listed, there is a name for them you can just say it." He said.

"Yes you are right, D listed. I just don't calling an agency that it belittles them. Anyways, when we do meet up he never mentions his work. He doesn't rotate partners with the other man either. I just thought it was strange is all." She said.

"What are you really here for. You thinking that he is seeing Ochako or what, because how dare you accuse her of being a cheater." He stares her down.

She looks away.

"Say it." he coldly says.

"The other day when I was going to check on Shouto at his agency because I was worried for him, I overheard a conversation between him and his father." Tears started to fall.

Bakugou felt strange, the same feeling he had the other day, a gut feeling.

"Shouto told his father, "If I propose to her than it would ruin her engagement.".... and I know he isn't talking about me.. be..because am not engaged...and he has been avoiding me and having weird shifts out of the blue with his partner Uraraka." She cried.

Bakugou's eyes widened and took a step back... from his own fears?

"And.. and I began to walk away from the door, because I didn't want to look more pathetic than I already was by being caught, so I left. I went home and started thinking what did I do wrong? I thought what Shouto and I had going on our relationship was fine, I've even gave my.. and he just left me with nothing, not an explanation.. nothing." She sobbed.

Any respect Bakugou had for the hot and ice shit was gone. Sure Bakugou was an asshole, but he wasn't the kind of guy to have sex with a girl and dumb her with no reason what so ever. Was he trying to steal Ochako from him too. He actually trusted and told the asshole to watch over Ochako for him against villains. What the FUCK.

Momo looked up from the ground.

"No she fucking wouldn't." She heard him say to himself.

He looked so defeated and confused. She was shocked that he was letting her see him at this state.

"I thought something very similar lately, about the situation. But knew that it wasn't possible. Endeavor's agency is a.. its a joke.. assigning D level missions to A listed heroes at the middle of the fucking night and at the most peaceful part of the city, night after night and pictures on the internet of them working together." He said out loud.

"Then fucking daddy's boy riles you up, has sex with you and stops contacting you and in a conversation with Endeavor about proposing to her will ruin the engagement." He continued to say.

Momo looked sad.

"Our engagement?" He started to laugh.

"Of fucking course you thought about that asshole and Ochako. We are the only fucking ones engaged and they clearly have questionable work every fucking night. Who else could you have fucking thought of huh." He started to sound crazy.

"I really do hope that am wrong Bakugou, and am sorry for telling you this nonsense. I was only thinking of myself and now my information, which might now even be correct, can ruin your engagement. I really.. I really don't want to think that Shouto would do something like this, I really don't." She said.

He went turned on his phone and made a call.

"I tried called Shouto and Uraraka earlier and they didn't answer, thats why am here right now." Momo said.

"Deku listen to me and don't fucking say a word back to me while am talking. Go tell All Might and tell him that we are going to the fucking outskirt region of the damn city at the fucking  night time shift today you hear me. Don't you dare question me just make it fucking happen. I'll see you the fuck later." He said controlling the level of his tone.

"Are you going to join the nerd and I on our shift tonight or what." He asks her.

She nods her head.

They heard keys jiggle outside.

"Stop crying!" He told Momo.

His heart started to wildly beat and it didn't feel right. Regardless of the truth of Momo's information and his own thoughts lately, he can't look at her right now, hell he can't be in the same room with her, not right now.

The door opened and Uraraka came in.

"Boy you will not believe the kind of day I had today or yesterday hard to tell lately but I-" Uraraka stopped talking as she saw that their was company in their apartment.

"Oh hi Momo what are you doing here?" She questioned.

"Um.. I." Momo didn't want her emotions to take over.

"We were just leaving right now." Bakugou said.

"Huh? Really well were too?" Uraraka asked.

He didn't respond to her.

"Hey are you alright?" she came closer to him. She faces his back as she places her hand to his shoulder.

But he moved his shoulder away from her touch.

She gasped while she watched Momo and her fiancé leave the apartment without a single word to her.

Everything is okay... just friends hanging out.. we are okay..

...Right?

She tried to convinced herself.

I decided to post this chapter today, I originally planned to post this maybe two week later, but I thought it was unfair of me to wait that long, especially since I always plan to post and end up late anyways. This chapter gave me the feels when I wrote it the other day. The story unfolds soon. Next time in Ochako's point of view of what happened during the last month and a half. Endeavor has tricks up his sleeve and just what the heck is going on in Shouto's mind.

So, took a break from drawing and worked a little on a fic I was playing with...

First thing: I actualy have a working Fan Theory on just how the head Sailor Pluto from Sailor Moon’s Gates of Time work, why they were made, and exactly how the timeline works in that whole series... and I came to a sort of horror realization about it all.

In order to understand what I thought up (and maybe I wasn’t the first one on this, but still), the first thing you have to understand is about the theoretical (hypothetical? how far deep is science in on this concept? my brain is mash and everything I’m about to type is crap I have been repeating for all sorts of story hooks, but also ruining a lot of my thoughts on stories with time travel bs) concept of dimentions of the universe.

(Before I go on, I have to go and watch @flavoracle‘s video post reacently. He tagged me on thoughts of exsistential horror, and this therory thing hits right in where I think he was going with his vid... which Is why I probably haven’t watched it yet... I should watch it just to make sure... probably after sleeping and after I finish the commission mini)

Okay, so the first thing we need to cover is: Do you know about sailor moon?

Well, if you don’t and google will be too much work (amusingly it can be when you don’t want to get distracted, so this isn’t judgement XD ): Sailor Moon is a magic girl anime. Hearts, magic, evil, romance, the works. I would be surprised if any of my followers hadn’t at least heard of it.

(sidenote: knowing of Ranma 1/2 is helpful, but the thing I wrote linked at the end of this has the character there, but nothing touching on what that character means to the story beyond what you can just read, so it’s extra, but unimportant... google it if you want. fun series, important to me as a person, moving on...)

NOW, each senshi (save moon) is named after a planet. So naturally there is a Sailor Pluto (the jokes where already done years ago, no time for pedantry right now, moving on). She is the Senshi of Time and Guardian of the ‘Gates of Time’

They are basically the series ‘time machine’. sorta. There is more, but bleh, so much to get through to get to my point.

Okay, so, during the second season/arc of Sailor Moon, a group called the Black Moon clan come back in time to wreck stuff (google for synopsis. they don’t matter to this post save for the detail i’m going to mention) They fully loose. And really, it makes sense. They are lack info, and more importantly, they are trying to change the past.

Paradox is a nono. So they auto fail. (i don’t know how much of that is canon explanation, but it’s basically what happened if you boil it down. They were doomed to fail cause they had already failed)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thing is, in reality, there is this concept in things like Quantum Physics known as the Multi-worlds theory. Short version: Not one time line, but infiitte of them, branching from every choice, every change, that has ever been and will ever be.

It goes further then that. There is figuring that the entire of existence (that is, even beyond our universe, like way beyond) is composed of about 9 dimensions, kinda 10 ish...

Okay, lets get the easy part of this out of the way, cause depending on your familiarity with the rest, things get bonkers fast.

You know the first 4 dimensions actually rather intimately. Height, Width, Depth, Time (duration).

So we have the base 3 dimensions we all know, and time (spacetime), which is how things move, change, the works. Now its easier to consider ‘Duration’ instead of time, because we aren’t just taking forward, but a line that goes start to finish. That is the 4 dimension.

Okay, so 5th dimension, what is it? Actually not too hard to explain: It’s all the branches that the Multi-worlds concept dips into.Did you chose to make eggs and coffee this morning? Or had some Rice Crispies instead?

Trick question: You did both. Not you you, but You (the one you are currently experiencing) AND the other you that is not you. They exist, but not in any real way that matters to the you that is YOU.

6th dimension? it’s kinda the past through of all the branches. Okay, so Back To the Future? You watched it? Especially the second one? Okay, Marty and Doc Go to the future. Old biff takes a thing, goes back, changes time. In order to fix it they had to go back to when biff was in high school in like the 50s (not caring about details, just follow the plot line here)... BUT before that, they went back to their normal time... but it wasn’t. It was a changed 198-whatever.

Thing is, as much as people laud the series for it’s solid take on time travel... this actually doesn’t work. They should have traveled back to their own time, since they were still in the fiture of -their- time line. What did they do?  They pasted through the sixth dimension, bridging the gap between time lines. Normally, like a stream, you would have to go back to where the change could have occured and then travel back up along that branch to get to the new future. But the freaking Delorian is more OP then folks realize.

What are dimensions 7-9. Weeeel to this thing I wrote, they don’t matter as much and are a bit harder to wrap your mind around.

I mean, the 7th is just ‘Our Universe’. Like the whole thing. Every time line, all the rules. Everything that has, can, and will make every iteration of us.

The 8th is like the 5ht, in that, they are different universes with different rules. Like, one might have less gravity or something.

The 9th is simply put as the ‘bridge’ between the multiverse. (wait, we are mtg fans mostly here? Planeswalking! XD ... sorta)

and the potiential 10th is just that. POTENTIAL.The ‘everything’ a drop of everything becomes a something that is anything. A blank slate that given definition is no longer a part of the blank slate.

Assuming that: 1) i didn’t ramble too incoherently and  2) you all wrapped your heads around Dimensions 4-6, then we are ready to tackle things

Okay, onward: THE GATES OF TIME

This is an artifact in the Sailor Moon universe that is Guarded by Sailor Pluto, Senshi of Time. (yes, senshi can mean guardian, so redundant, but screw you, i like the term ‘senshi’ XD )

The show, the manga, nothing that I know of really goes into what this thing is about. To be honest, I feel like this is one of those things like the Time turner (harry potter) that open more plot holes and issues then they fix any...

UNLESS!

Okay, here is where that dimensional guff comes into play.

Remember when I mentioned the Black Moon clan’s inevitable failure? It implies there is NO 5TH DIMENSION IN THE SAILOR MOON UNIVERSE.

How so? Well, what if someone could see the future. All those timelines, all those choices. Sure Sailor Moon defates Beryl in one timeline, but in another she looses. So what is the point?

Someone had that much existential dread and access to incredible magic and artificery that they slapped this baby together.

So what are the Gates of Time then, and why am I using plural instead of singular when there is clearly the one?

It’s a 6th dimensional device that locks all timelines instead of one. Being a multi dimensional object, we can’t see all sides with our 4 dimensional senses, but in reality, there are infinate gates, all but this one locked, sealed, and forever hidden from view.

What does this mean for the Sailor Moon timeline?

It means that every choice sticks. Thats it. You chose coffee and eggs today. Yep. That’s it. it’s locked in. there is no other timeline or possibility.

This means that the Black Moons Clan’s defeat was as inevitable as them going back in the first place. Because it happened, it will always happen.

And the gates are one of the only ways to potentially by pass that. Maybe (the other thing I can think of is a thing called the Galaxy Cauldron... but don worry ‘bout it)

Okay, so we got most of this together.. You read this far? Whoa. Okay, so This fic my muse gave me after I was just thinking on the concept of the Gate for another fic idea (because my fracking muse hates me right now and it’s hard to concentrate on my comic for the moment. will be working more on that during the weekend)

So, I love crosses. It’s me, Pepper, so base is Ranma, with the common cross of Sailor Moon (obviously), and I do love cannibalizing a third cross to make the adversary if I can’t think one up myself (most plot bunnies are Kamen Rider crosses for the Tertiary.). For this one, I used a sort of Hild (and the norms, but evil) from Ah My Goddess.

It’s not clear from the first few scenes of this (really the real meat of what I’m posting is a page an a half down from the start), so let me give you the quick breakdown of that this story is about:

Start: Norms and Hild are wrecking the Senshi’s day. Pluto is hiding at the gates to protect the artifact. With out a (literal) Special key, only she can usually enter it. Hild’s goal is to change something fundamental about the universe, but in her quest to do so, she has gotten pretty mad and taken a few minor goddess down with her. Hild finally gets tired, and figures, she just need to change history. She would perfer the Gates, but she is a freaking Deity (fallen of a fashion, I know how silly that sounds given the character, but I’m not going into all that right now, I’m just using it as short hand, k?). So HIld goes, ‘Girl’s, you keep doing good, me? I’m going to make the laws of physics my chew toy”

So she forces herself back in the past.

Chosen target? Sailor Pluto at the fall of their magic kingdom (again, don’t know, google, I’m hip deep right now). She intends to right the dying senshi’s power to the Gates back then (which would be a mess of things on so many levels) Accept, Pluto of the past returns the favor. Hild had forced herself through time, so she is already messed up and pretty near death. Could have recovered, but a magic girl blast through the chest kinda stops that from being an option.

STILL, Hild succeeded in the first part of her plan at least. Og Timeline, Pluto excaped and hung out at the Gates guarding them for a -very- long time.. This pluto?

She ded.

And she is reborn... as Ranma.

Thing is, there is a cascade that wreaks havoc on a timeline not meant to move or change. Three things stay anchored, one of which cases backwards ripples. 1) That key that was mentioned before. Sailor moon had it, inactivated for safety. Sailor moon is not anchored, but the key is... it ends up somehow in the hands of Ranma, cause destiny, single timeline, reborn Pluto, you get the idea)

2) Pharaoh 90 (third season/arc) was locked way by the Gates. That moment -can’t- change, but since it can’t, timeline figures easiest path is that dude didn’t even exsist (lots of effects from that that I would explore in story proper) 3) The norns (the goddess with hild) get ‘washed ashore’ at the point in time just when Chibi Usa (moons future dautgher, sent back as a part of that whole Black Moon clan thing) would have shown up (because of shift in time, future is currently being rewriten as Ranma lives it... Fixed point idea thing)

OOOOOkay, last thing you need to know before I actually drop this stupid thing on any one with the insanity to read it: OG Pluto still lives at the Gates (outside normal time so effectively untouched by cascade... but it means she can never leave to go to any point after her death, and she can’t chance going back before that moment)

Are you really still with me? Did you make any sense of that? All that so that you might understand what I wrote. Context is everything.

Oh yeah, I was listening to this on repeat while writing, and part of why i was crying (yes it’s kingdom heart. honest I give not two figs about the game, but the music is beautiful.)

I give you the end of a fic that my bonkers muse gave me the idea for that may or may not ever see a posting and thus, I want someone to take some joy in what I wrote rather then hiding it. Quality of Life Tips and Tricks for Nier Automata

There's a lot of basic tips and tricks that can help new players to the game for their first playthrough be more enjoyable. Only very minor mild spoilers of game mechanics.

Nier Automata has a lot of wacky mechanics that does add some simple enough depth to the game and a level of mastery of these tricks can help you juggle enemies to death. The problem is there so much random little details that the game doesn't go over cus I believe it's meant for the player to discover these tricks for themselves. While i do commend them for that, not knowing some of the basics of the gameplay can make fighting enemies way beyond your level really frustrating. Thus I have compiled some Quality of Life tips that will make starting out the game more enjoyable. So, mild spoiler warning for any basic mechanics you want to discover yourself.

Story

You aren't replaying the game exactly for each ending

​In the first Nier you had to replay through the game several times. Not in Automata. There's only one slight replay, but it's different enough that it's not annoying.

True ending

​You should be working to get to the True Ending. This is ending E. Ending A may seem underwhelming if you expect it to be the end of the game, but it's not the real ending. Please, work to getting to the True Ending, it has the most special moment out of the entire game there.

Weapons

​Have reverse order of weapons be second loadout​

Each weapon has heavy and light attack combos. If you want to see all the combos a single weapon can do, have your second loadout be a reverse of your main loadout. That way you can keep switching between them to experiment with each weapon combos.

Upgrade weapons to MAX Level​

Each weapon gains special abilities once they are maxed out. This is where weapons have their full potential. Like increased attack damage or attack speedc which leads into...

I Recommend MAXing out Virtuous weapons First

​All weapons that have "Virtuous" in their name (like 2B's Sword) share the same 2 abilities once full upgraded. They all get their ATTACK Speed increased, meaning your attack animation is quicker and ofc being able to hit your enemies faster. ​And attack dmg up if you have full health. Which should be achievable with the chips I will recommend.... But yes, literal DPS boost when you fully upgrade those weapons, highly recommend those for starters.

Chips

Auto pick up items​

You may think to yourself, "Wow, picking up every single item is annoying!/Picking up all these items for grinding will take forever!/An NPC is blocking an item pick up! Fear not! Just as how you can pick up money automatically, there is a chip that you can find that will automatically pick up items! I won't say where, that's for you to find out ; ).

Counter

Counter/parry/whatever you may call it is a staple of Platinum games Hack n Slash titles. This works just as it does in Bayonetta. For newbies: Push left stick in direction of an oncoming enemy attack to Counter it. The timing is extremely lenient too, much easier to pull off than in Bayonetta. The chip description makes it seem like the importance is only with the dmg knockback but this clearly isn't the case. What's good about is that you can Counter and Counter Attack just like you can when you dodge enemy attacks. Thus I highly recommend finding the smallest chip size for Counter and equipping that so you don't need to just dodge everything.

Overclock AKA the witchtime one

Bayonetta's Witchtime also makes an appearance as a chip. For those not familiar: when you dodge time slows down. This means you have time to counter attack and also get some combos in. Extremely useful!

Taunt dmg increase

​Taunting is the major key to fighting enemies way beyond your level. When an enemy is taunted, they will do more dmg to you BUT also you do more damage to them. And then you can get chips to increase that amount even more! This is how to make something 10LVL above you not a bullet sponge! That is, if you have upgraded weapons ofc.

Healing Chips

Tired of running out healing items or just annoying having to use one after every little hit? Well there's a couple options to choose from. 1. There's one healing chip that auto heals back all your HP if you don't take damage after x seconds. Meaning when you get hurt you can spam dodge to get away and wait a second to heal up. So this is more for Defense style of play. 2. The other major healing chip allows you to heal depending on the damage you do to enemies. Thus in the middle of combat you can still be healing up automatically. This is good for aggressive style of combat obviously.

Pod Programs

Don't be afraid to experiment with them

There's a lot of random ass ones you'll pick up. Don't be afraid to try them out. Some of em are REALLY helpful so don't forget to try them out.

Hold down button to charge

I forget if this is said in the tutorial or not, but yes, holding down the pod program button charges it. CHARGE FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE AND SUCH.

​I recommend Slow

So it should be obvious that the first one you get, Laser, is pretty useful for damage output. So if you want another program to try out I recommend Slow. Slow effectively stops/slows down extremely in a bubble. This means you can trap enemies in it and get some crazy combos onto them. Especially helpful if your fighting multiple enemies to stop them in their tracks and take em out quick.

​General Combat Tips

​Spam dodge and counter

The timing for dodge and counter is so lenient that if you are a complete newbie you can just spam these for a good counter attack. So don't be afraid to just spam it until you learn how to combo properly.

Sprint attack does more dmg than standing attacks(glitch?)

I'll remove this if it's ever confirmed to be fixed but .... when you sprint and then do a running Sprint attack you do more damage than a standing attack. Speedrunners use this to exploit bosses at low levels. So keep this trick in mind when going against higher level baddies!

Use flashlight to Taunt!!!

2B can taunt by spamming the flashlight into an enemies face!!! Very strange I know, but just go with it hah. 

One Last Tip

Don't randomly sell resource material items!!!​

You will want to look up on a wiki if the material will be used for upgrading or not. My rule of thumb is if you don't want to do that is: Sell fish and machine cores thats it!

Conclusion

And thats all the tips I got. Theres plenty more tricks, and especially many more advanced tips and tricks. But the info I have given you will make playing through the game much more enjoyable IMO, and if you get interested you can always look up advanced guides. In fact I leave you off with a video by donguri990. They are a crazy awesome combo master of many different games like DMC4 and such. This video was created right when the game was released so the gameplay is of the start of game + first boss announced + trailer footage, so only opening part of game mild spoilers. I really do recommend watching this to get an idea of what crazy stuff is possible with the combo system.
