So I saw a post about marvel rivals adding Miles and Gwen as separate characters from Peter (so they wouldn’t just be reskin of spiderman). It would be a long time before they added them to the game, but speculation is fun. I'm going to speculate on how I think they would be implemented into the game.

Miles is easy to think of game play wise. He’d be able to swing like spider-man and venom, but he’ll have his venom blast and invisibility to set apart his tool kit. Maybe his ult is him summoning his energy sword. Miles would definitely be a dualist. Can’t see him as anything else. He might get more health than Peter since he’d be more in the frontline and such. But I could also see them keeping it the same since Miles can go invisible. He’d be great for diving behind enemy lines.

If anything, they might change up his suit. It’s important that his silhouette is easy to distinguish from Peter. I love all the spider-folks and their outfits, but they practically all have the same silhouette. It's just slight differences around their head. It might be hard to see those differences in this fast pace video game. And yes, while they do all have very distinguishing color schemes, the characters will have various different skins, it basically makes that point null.

And so...

Maybe Miles could always have a collar jacket on. It doesn’t have to be exactly like this, but something that makes it obvious you’re up against Miles and not Peter. Or they could let his hair be out like in that one Sony spider-man suit. I’d like marvel rival to give him a hairstyle other than killmonger dreads tho. We can diversify on hair now.

Gwen, on the other hand is harder to imagine. They would want to differentiate her play styles from Miles, Peter, and Peni. Given that we would already have two duelist spider-folk and Gwen isn’t much of a tank, I think they’d make her a healer. And to add on to that, I think they give Gwen her symbiote. Gwen’s baseline powers are the same as Peter’s. Her symbiote would help her stand out power wise. Marvel Rivals isn’t afraid to choose niche characters so I imagine they wouldn’t be afraid to pick Gwen’s current characterization. Plus, symbiotes have been known to have regenerative abilities. I don’t think this is a far flung idea.

Maybe she'd play closer to zenyatta. Her spiders can be sent out to either heal teammates or tag targets. If she tags an enemy, she can see them through walls and/or they take increase damage. Or her spider could have some poison damage over time effects. She can swing and wall climb like the other. Maybe even go invisible too. With a symbiote they can play around with her abilities.

Costume wise they could give Gwen her og suit. Maybe make her top a puffer jacket with a hood or a punk rock jacket with spikes. Or they could go all in and give Gwen her Venom suit. Add a red scarf rather than have her tongue for censor ship reason. I don’t know how a character like gwenom would fly in other countries. Or they could hold on the red scarf for Cindy. Who knows if they'll add her too. Most likely, her symbiote suit will just be an cosmetic.

Because Miles and Gwen are paired up in most other games and media, they’d definitely synergies too. Maybe Miles can see Gwen's tagged targets or he can heal on his own if left alone for a while. Gwen's always looking out for him. Something cute like that.

Saw Across the Spiderverse yesterday, and as soon as Miguel started talking about canon events I started thinking about Gwen.

Because I read a decent amount of Spider-Gwen comics a while back and while, yes, she would've found out about her dad potentially dying, there's another one she could've found out about that's also pretty awful.

Because I'm betting that "spider-person bonds with a symbiote that gives them a black suit and makes them more violent" is another canon event. And that happens to Spider-Gwen in the comics (I believe the commonly used term is "Gwenom"). I won't go into a lot of detail, but it's a very low point for her.

And it's part of a chain of events that started with her dad finding out her identity.

I really want to know if she knew that, if she went back home knowing that. The answer is almost certainly no (none of the Spider-People we've encountered in these movies have been a 1-to-1 adaptation of their comics selves) but it'd be interesting if it was yes.

for starts yes i AM working on it, i actually started recently and it’s so much easier writing for girls since i have more fun so i feel it maaayyyyyyy get done quicker. but i also want to come on and say that yes, while i will be posting it to tumblr, i think i might make it on wattpad too. its only because i feel like it might be easier for people to read if they read it on wattpad to just scroll and also people usually read series on wattpad and come to tumblr if they wanna read oneshots (beside like oneshot books). and also i like how i can just brainstorm it all together on wattpad and make it look all pretty so… anyways with my AMAZING graphic design skills lemme start showing sneak peaks 😒😒

you can see a little peak of the cover 🤭 BAHAHAHAH but yeah this is what i have going on so far. im also an extreme perfectionist and because i made the wattpad cover start with the capitalization i refuse to not make the titles or writing be lowercase.

ANYWAYS! to start, i usually write gwen with spider gwen in mind so her age is usually between 16-18 in my stuff with the acception of the fics i do that specifically link to spiderverse but she usually is her comic 17-18 version. but for the plot i am gonna take HEAVY inspiration from one of the gwenom comics but its also gonna be based on the comic where she is starting college but when the plot starts she’s already been like a student maybe like a year in.

and secondly….this will NOT be the gwen we know and love or should i say the gwen YALL know and love. i kinda want to mess with her characterization to make it interesting like yes gwen is gonna be the awkward but nice girl but also like because i want this au version of earth 65 to be a little melancholy or dark vibes to it she WILL be a bit of an asshole at times, real cocky, and so on- like it’s gonna be so fun UGH!!

thirdly, im not sure if there is gonna be downright smut in this. like again, ik i have written “suggestive” content like my makeouts because i don’t necessarily write for strictly spiderverse gwen but just a whole amalgamation of it and its always based on comics so she’s like 17-18. i’m bringing this up because if you read carmilla- CMON NOW😭😭😭 there will be the suggestive scenes but idk if imma do it because while this will be the college version of gwen from the comics around 18-19 like i never wrote stuff like that and also don’t wanna perpetuate or feed content to the predator gwen fans on ANY platform. not like carmilla is heavy in sex i just wanna preface that because it’s always weird when people utilize au from something heavily sexual so it implies that the content WILL be sexual and not that that’s wrong in this case i just wanna let yall know you can expect content but not THAT content.

LASTLY the plot is lowkey short like i haven’t fleshed it out yet because i haven’t been having fun on tumblr when i write for guys so i wanna have fun with this and take my time writing the chapters before even releasing them so i don’t worry about dates for theme. but it won’t be like an intense lead rn it’s looking like MAYBE 15 chapters? possibly 20. i want a good balance of plot heavy and also gwen content in it that is sub plots to intensify the main plot (someone break me out of ap lang im gnawing at the enclosure) but i’m still working on it.

so yeah this is just little teasers for now and y’all can tell me what you think. im making little notes and stuff and im gonna woke on the plot and then just get straight to writing so i can just post a chapter weekly until we at the end so it gives me time to sprinkle other stuff in as well. i been over astv and just wanna write for my favorite women so this is me taking my stand on business 😒

i find it so interesting how much of spider-gwen's story revolves around alternate universes. like, obviously, she's seen a lot of different versions of herself, like with the gwenom arc, and gwen goblin, and that time the universe broke & etc, but gwen tells miles that her universe doesn't have costumed villains & that never like. stops being true. yes, she's fighting a group of clones based on the sinister six now, but it's the sinister six from PETER'S world bc they don't exist in gwen's. electro literally owns like. an arcade or something. murderdock is mainly threatening because of his connections, not his ninja skills. cindy moon literally stole gwen's powers but she's not a supervillain, she's a ceo. she just stole the technology to make a giant robot. harry was a mutant lizard for a while, but he was mostly just a SHIELD agent. her biggest threats with powers are the storm siblings, and they're very insistent on the fact they want to be heroes

idk, i just find it so interesting how tied gwen is with the larger spiderverse. her story is inherently incomplete without the knowledge that she's lived while other gwens died, and we see no matter what she does, the choices of other worlds still end up effecting her

I was bored and decided to start playing again the marvel mobile games I abandoned a while ago, just for fun. This is my current status in unlocking the characters I like in them:

Well, I never stopped playing Future Fight and Snap daily, because doing the daily missions on Future Fight is quick and an habit, while Snap is the only genuinely fun game in this bunch

I have Venom, Carnage and Knull in Snap, along with one variant for each. Unfortunately because it is the game I enjoy playing, I don’t always use them, as I do take how good a card is more seriously than how much I like the character. The deck that has all three is good enough, but I get bored of playing the same deck for too long. I current want a Venom icon though, or the Lethal Protector status, but these come with luck. Most characters seem to have a Venomized or Knullified variant, it will take forever to collect them all, for now I have just a couple of them

I have all four symbiotes in Future Fight (Venom, Agent Venom, Carnage, Toxin) and all of them are at least category two, with Venom being category three. I also have all the uniforms for them, working on maximizing all (Toxin has none, and both Carnage and Agent Venom are premium so it’s unlikely I will ever max theirs. I did all of Venom’s except for the zombie one, which I am working on, and I’m also not done with Scream’s Silence). I also have Spidey’s black suit, Gwenom, and Miles with the symbiote from Absolute Carnage, and Red Goblin as uniforms. Only missing Knull, but I have to finish all the other bosses to get him

I have almost all the symbiotes in Contest of Champions - Venom, Agent Venom, Anti-Venom, Symbiote Spider-Man, Howard the Duck-Venom, Carnage, Knull - just missing the elusive Venompool, Dr. Strange Venom and Red Goblin. There is also a npc-looking symbiote on the list, but I read somewhere that that one is a temporary character you only get to play during an event

Puzzle Quest keeps being the worst. I only have one symbiote: Mac!Venom. And only because it’s a basic card. It has Eddie!Venom, Anti-Venom, Agent Venom, Carnage, Dark Carnage, Knull, black suit Spider-Man, and the recently added Venomized Jeff, Gwenom and Venomsaurus Rex (this game is certainly the one with the most creative cast. I atribute it to not having 3D battles and so not needing to worry about models)

I recently found out that Strike Force has Scream (I believe it didn’t last time I checked) so I am thinking of getting it. Just for fun.

Yes I do play these (except for Snap) only to unlock these characters (the goal is all symbiotes and adjacents like Knull (hopefully Dylan/Codex may join the cast of one soon) and all inhumans, but that’s another story). I would certainly have more fun with a Pokemon Go but with symbiotes.

Gwenom vs. Carnage #3

I was a little disappointed in that ending. It didn't feel that definitive. I obviously wasn't expecting Gwen to be Knull here, and yes, MJ is out of the evil suit, but there's still all that anger MJ had the entire issue. It was amplified by the suit, but its still there now that she's free. And it also doesn't feel like she's safe from Knull. IDK. I did enjoy the action and how Gwen beat Carnage. I was just hoping for a little more I guess.
