So there’s this thing called the “Upside down jellyfish”— otherwise known as the Cassiopea! I saw them in an aquarium like a year ago and immediately knew “oh shit i gotta make a mermaid outta that”. Look it up if you wish.

Tim is just a weird little guy who swims upside down.

Also, all of the other mermfolk have pointed ears that point up, and Tim’s point down! Or i guess technically... still up!

Plz ignore the face on the first pic, I hate it and redrew it a bunch of times and it still looks off. Look at the bottom pic instead.

He walks on his hands when he’s not swimming/theres surface to stand on. He sleeps using his bell as a blanket!!

Tim i i feel like is the oddball of the family. They accept and love him just the same anyway, but he always just gives me Weird Little Guy vibes. A vague approximation of a normal person. Like they’re all weird ofc but yk.

That’s why Tim is the only one that doesn’t need to breathe. He does have lungs, but he is especially not built for land, even compared to the others. And everyone else besides Bruce and Damian have gills. Tim isn’t even a fish, he’s a cnidaria. The oxygen goes into him through osmosis. As long as any part of his jelly half is touching the water, he doesn’t need to breathe. He literally can’t hold his breath unless he’s fully on land. He doesn’t really know what breathing is like.

Unlike Bruce and Damian (and possibly Alfred, we’ll see) who are holding their breath constantly.

Wow, Tim really would be the worst on land. Jason legit has a bunch of legs so he’ll be just fine. Bruce and Damian are turtles so they’re evolved for going on land just a little. The others can at least drag themselves or slither pretty effectively. Tim just...

Well, he walks on his hands at least? But he wouldn’t be used to the strength and balance that requires on land, + his bell and tentacles would totally just flop on top of him and make shit difficult. Trying to go right side up would just be even worse...

Actually no. Cass might be the worst on land. Cass would be pretty fucked.

So I struggled a lot on this design. It was kinda hard to make it not look feminine, bc the bell being attached there looks a lot like a poofy skirt or dress— and also just making it not look Stupid with a capital T. I think I like the way it came out though!

i think one of my favorite parts so far is the dialogue!! reading that whole bit where raskolnikov is stuck in bed and razumikhin has been watching over him was really fun and the way we get to read about raskolnikov’s paranoia and how he thinks everyone knows what he did

ALSO the part where he talks to zametov and practically confesses how he hid everything with the stone…i was so tense during that legit had to close the book and think for a second LIKE WHY

i do think one of the most difficult parts for me to read was his first talk with marmeladov since marmeladov talked for pages…and pages…and pages LMAOO

Mouthwashing is a game where I will give it to them that they had good ideas, but they needed to sit with them a bit longer and think about how they wanted to connect certain scenes a bit better.

I think the themes are fine, but Jimbalaya causing the inciting incident of the game for what are frankly fairly flimsy reasons to me kind of added a certain [extended fart noise] to the overall narrative.

T. I can't really write sex, alas, but I love making characters swear and drink alcohol, especially the latter (I suspect I'm sublimating my own wish to drink way more often than I actually do), and I feel like that's the most appropriate rating for that.

What are your top three fandoms?

ASOUE with 20 works, Dracula with 6, and Turn: Washington's Spies with 5. All statistics are going to be not quite accurate in my case though, because a lot of my fics are posted both in English and in Russian. So that's technically one story, but two works. For example, the 5 Turn fics in question are two fics in original Russian, the English translations of both of them, and a collection of my old fandom poems in which one poem is for Turn. (I am very much not translating poems into English because trying to make them rhyme would drive me insane). On the other hand, most of my ASOUE fics in Russian are posted as a single work, each chapter being a new short fic, but their English translations are posted as separate works. If I was posting both Russian and English versions separately, the number of my ASOUE works would've been even higher.

What is the top character you write about?

Lemony Snicket appears in 12 of my fics (counting stories, not works, i.e. not counting the original and the translation as separate stories). Fitting for the first-person narrator and a fucking legend.

What are your top three pairings?

I want everyone to know that this is the point at which I realized that I don't need to count all that manually because the list of my own works also has the same sorting and filtering menu as each fandom tag. I may be stupid. Anyway! Lemonberry ice is, of course, on top with 9 works, or 6 stories if we don't count the original and the translation separately. Next is Duchess R/Beatrice with 7 works, or 4 stories. The third relationship on the list is actually a platonic one - Duchess R & Lemony with 7 works/4 stories too. If "pairings" here are to mean romance only, then Smoker/Tashigi, Quincey/Jack, and Duchess R/Sally Sebald all are at 4 works/2 stories.

What are the top three additional tags?

Not trying to subtract originals and translations here - Pre-Canon (15), Post-Canon (15), and - see the first question - Alcohol (8), lol. Oh, and Canon-Typical Violence also has 8.

Does any of this surprise you?

No. Perhaps the only surprising part is that I've written two R/Sally fics? Neither of my stories in which they appear is centered on this ship, but it's there. I can't even say I ship them, it's just that they're among the few Sugar Bowl Generation characters who are likely to be still alive by the end of the series, so I like to give them a little happy ending together.

Oh anon, my love, please don’t be upset with me but I don’t like mac and cheese. Blasphemous I know BUT Tbf 🤔 I’ve only ever had Kraft mac and cheese and I remember the instance I didn’t like it. I was sleeping over at my cousin’s house and my tia made us Kraft in the shape of… idk it’s been a while but it was like princesses or something. I thought the taste was too much for me. Maybe I just don’t like cheddar idk. I do occasionally eat it very slowly one cheesy noddle at a time like a freak. That said!!
