Hi! I read somewhere about someone not liking Luz's ending since she "didn't grow as a person" at the end of the owl house. They said that she only became more depressed or traumatized but she's still the same cheerful and helpful girl like in the first episode of season 1. Do you agree?

I felt That the crew wanted to do so much with the show but felt they had no idea writing Luz, however they too had there drawbacks, Yes I LOVE LUZS CHARACTER AND SHE IS SELFLESS A GOOD FRIEND (even if it’s the wrong person) Loyal, and cheerful. How we get moments that

Luz's character can be bastardized!

i feel fans try to view her as this bubbly girl boss, we know and love, however we overlook her flaws cause of discourse. she’s this impressionable, unruly, explosive girl with self imaging issues & unresolved grief, that effected her lifestyle.

I truly do depict her as a girl failure which ill get to a list of reasons, I’ll be getting into

Now let’s get down to reasons why, she gets to the way she is.

Luz wants to do so much for others, that she hasn't practiced learning about self-love and acceptance, it all backtracks in her past of her deceased father & trying to relate to earth kids with opposite interests that can be harmful.

I felt they truly had fun time to an extent how they can push her in a negative direction, (this goes for hunter which I’ll do a post/video soon.)

how they wanted her to be more of an edge lord along the series run, (and the proper writing of the show didn’t help.)

Heck to the point in season 3, she never interacted with anyone on earth in her school, which is concerning, cause that can lead to self-harm or failed relationships, also known people as kikimora or talking to her other friends in season 3 coulda gave her a wake up call.

ALSO CAN WE BRING UP LYING TO HER LOVE ONES OUT OF NO WHERE! Season 1

DRAGGING THEM THROUGH MORTAL PERIL IN SEASON 2!

AND NO NEURODIVERAGENCE DOESNT EXCUSE BAD BEHAVIOR OR BLACK FEATURES BEING MINIMIZED.

2.They should've let a POC (person of color) write Luz cause of how she turned out Personality-wise throughout the series, which I rewatched, along critic videos and yes even in season 3 they decided to make her some shonen wannabe edge lord,(A wannabe Pokemon Goh But more emo.)

Luz's is flawed, as a character & written wise, felt the show didn’t know how to write for POC, cause fans who are another ethnicity might view this, and say oh, where portrayed as this etc, but without our black features or even how where portrayed in society in social norms.

Yes I did a post on her fashion & wardrobe and how it affects a character, boy they got my girl looking a hobo at times. ( and the good so called hair symbolism could’ve made Luz even better.)

ALSO (I may be ranting but hope ya listen)

Hated how they tried to Mary Sue her at certain episodes when she's faced with problems or issues that can affect everyone in dire times, for example,

her willingness to learn magic, which she can be impressionable and wanting Praise for the wrong reasons, but To be loved I Understand.

She is a person wanting acceptance and tolerance ( which that whole wanting to be understood season 3 dialogue could've been for season 1), just to be liked by a new world, would have fleshed out her character more, and given the viewers and her friends reasoning why she does staggering things.

also when she wanted to get to learn magic from her sensei, Knowing Eda knew how unpredictable & reckless at times luz can be, but Eda has her issues. throughout 4 episodes I think its been dragged out she has done stupid things to put others in harm's way even OWLBERT.

3.she can act nonchalant & ambivalent in dire situations, (to the point her friends should've Gotten angry with her actions, GUS AND WILLOW PERIOD) But don't worry all that's being glazed with the Mary Sue trope, discourse, & her being submissive to amity,

which she can take many stabbings and hits for a cause you know all is well with a Good ship. INSERT SARCASM

tragically i do feel she ended up a girl failure, But they Try hard at girl bossing her up, cause she was put in situations where she didn't have dire punishments and consequences. plus excepting a power she had no choice accepting at the season finale,

Yes hello this is me rambling after just finishing Belle: The Dragon and The Freckled Princess

- “Why was a stranger’s life more important than mine?” was so goddamn raw. I can imagine children of firefighters/doctors/other people who risk their lives everyday feel if they lose a loved one when they were trying to protect someone.

- The grief and trauma shown on-screen surrounding Suzu after her mother died hits home so hard for me. While I have not lost mine, I understand coping with grief and feeling blocked from something that used to come so naturally to you.

- Hiro, Luka, Shinobu and Shinjiro I did not expect to love as much as I do. I actually thought Shinobu would Dragon/Beast at first, and that Luka would be Peggie Sue (I love her now tho- I love pretty much everyone not named Justin/Sperm-Doner) in this movie. Shinjiro and Luka were too precious, I was freaking out over these two blushing babies. Shinobu is honestly a good friend, but is absolutely just as socially awkward as Suzu.

- THE MUSIC GOD IT’S SO GOOD Full disclosure, I started watching the movie after hearing and seeing the English dub of Belle’s Meledy. I was already in tears hearing it and seeing it. Both voices of Suzu are utterly captivating ;A;

- Justin is absolutely Kei and Tomo’s asshole sperm-donor. Hiding behind excuses of enforcing justice/law+order, but in truth only wanting to control others. And in the end, both ended up exposed for the cowards they were and abandoned.

- KEI AND TOMO DESERVE THE WORLD QAQ IT BROKE MY HEART WHEN KEI SAID HOW SO MANY PEOPLE SAID THEY WANTED TO HELP BUT ULTIMATELY DID NOTHING BUT PITY AND SYMPATHIZE WITH THEM 

The bravery these two have cannot be overstated. Kei became a hero for his brother to give bravery to, as well as children like them, and Tomo supported both his brother and the girl that brought hope to Kei.

- I saw the familiar beats of Beauty and the Beast in the movie and could predict a few key moments (from Dragon saving Belle and the two’s ballroom dance to Justin storming the castle ala Gaston) but the revelation of Dragon’s identity and his and Tomo’s home life revealed was like a gut punch and I knew I had no idea what was coming next.

I was so relieved when Suzu was able to reach Kei’s heart, but absolutely terrified when his shitty father cut them off from the others. But seeing Suzu and her loved ones doing their damnedest to find Kei and Tomo to Suzu going herself to their apartment... I was so scared she was going to be too late, and was so relieved when she found them both.

- Suzu is so fucking brave, she’s come so far. From willingly exposing herself to billions on the internet for the chance to save two abused children, to physically defending them from their abusive father... and the bastard who dares call himself a parent couldn’t bring himself to strike her when he looked into her eyes and slunk away like the piece of shit he was.

So that’s twice this girl has stared down this asshole in and out of internet, and she stands her ground with everything revealed while he can only shy away.

- I pray Kei and Tomo find a good home and family, maybe even move into Suzu’s neighborhood. With Hiro, Shinobu, Shinjiro, Luka and the choir ladies, they would never want for friends, mother-figures or support.

-Whether Kei and Suzu become a couple or stay friends (which is left ambiguous, which I applaud)... these two inspired one another to bravery in face of trauma, grief and abuse. Suzu was able to sing again while opening herself up to her friends and family, while Kei opened his heart and put his faith in another despite being let down so many times... and finally was finally validated.

God I love this movie so much.

My #1 post of 2022

I think Macaque remembers what happened between him and Wukong not just with great bias, but with actual missing memory. I have the feeling that since LBD resurrected him, she also manipulated some of his memories/gaslit his already turbulent emotions towards Wukong to a fever pitch.

In fact, I'll bet that the reason Wukong was so often away without Macaque was that he wanted to keep the one he loved safe. I personally believe that the scar on Macaque's face was not dealt by Wukong, but was from a different fight that nearly killed him. (And LBD manipulated that memory we saw)

Almost losing his moon, his other half, his loved one, was what made Wukong pull a Gilgamesh and start searching for immortality. So that he would be able to protect his people and the one he loved. Classic “hero who wants to keep their loved one safe by distancing themselves from them” trope invoked. Unfortunately, Macaque is very insecure and very prone to assuming the worst and thinks he was abandoned the more and more Wukong goes out.

So he leaves Flower Fruit Mountain around the same time Wukong is buried under the mountain, thinking he was repaying Wukong for abandoning him... not even realizing he was the one who abandoned Wukong first.

Who was the worst trainer you've ever seen?

A LOT!

Some trainers are just young or not cut out for the amount of work, travel and responsibility that comes with the journey.

We also see trainers who are really bad at knowing what their pokemon needs. We always get people that will send their pokemon into battle after battle, throw them medicine like Revives, Potions, etc, and then send them right back in without rest or proper inspection in their health.

We see it so often and we choose to educate over get mad, but we are pretty stern on it.

The worst trainers are the ones who just treat their pokemon badly or are terrible people.

Most trainers will just shut up and listen when they see the uniform or badge and we can get a scan on their Trainer ID thanks to special tools we have.

We also get punks who try to act tough, but most are just angry kids, who honestly I've found that offering them a snack and having some snacks for their pokemon calms them both down so....have snacks.

However its the rich or privileged trainers that are the worst.

I've had to break up fights and arguments over dumb things like:

Who should pick up trash and why it shouldn't be them.

How they actually won a battle despite their whole team being knocked out.

How they can go wherever they want, and then them threatening to sue because they got something like poison oak.

And many others!

And yes I have had someone threaten to "speak to my manager" and I warned them that they don't wanna meet Jo.

Now I don't usually have any aggression for a trainer, but I did almost punch this one guy who kept his Piplup on a leash.

This wasn't a child or teen either, this was a full on adult.

I had to do a double and triple take when I saw them walking together.

This trainer looked so proud of himself for some reason, but his little Piplup looked tired as hell.

Piplup has little legs, and a small body. On top of that their feet aren't built for all terrains, so sometimes they need to be held.

I actually ran up behind him, grabbed the leash and cut it with my survival knife, then I scooped up the Piplup.

The piece of trash was confused, and was about to pick a fight until he saw the uniform and tried running.

Thankfully Bliss and Kuriboh were nearby and stopped him.

He was detained, and his pokemon taken for examination and they were all in similar states with rashes and bruses around their neck areas.

Listen, collars can be helpful in certain situations when used properly, but most of the time why won't be needed on a journey that is supposed to bring a trainer and their pokemon closer.

I'm weary enough of people who use them outside of say Farming or Service Training, but this was clearly abuse.

I beleive his residence was checked and it was just a terrible place, no care of the pokemon, some of which who were rare, which leads me to believe he could have been some kind of Breeder or lent his pokemon out to be bred, doesn't matter because he's on a list now.

It really never is fun to meet people like that.
