Hii, I saw your fic and I thought that the name is kinda familiar and I was righttt! I read through your blog and I agree with u esp with the ah l*stappen. For me, I don’t really get the lore of the relationship. And tendency is that they usually drag other drivers to further their uhm visions ✨ but not really in a good way.

Anon, you can ask me any long question and I'll read all of it. Also I love Carlos so I'm so glad I get to talk about him. This is also kinda long but I wanted to give my full opinion. ALSO YES ABOUT THE FIC!! I LOVE FLORENCE AND HOPED I WOULD FIND SOMEONE THAT KNOWS THEM

So here are my opinions on the things you've asked me:

1. Charlos: I seriously love them. But recently they remind me of a divorced couple. (I'm a child of divorce. I'm talking about Charlos btw. Not actually a child of divorce) And it HURTS!!! if you told me a year or two ago that I'd be going through this, I'd laugh in your face. But I love Charlos and the angst, the humor, and the clinginess. They're honestly so cute. They're not my fav (we all know who my fav is) but they definitely made it to my top 7. But also, I feel like Carlos fans and Charles fans have different opinions abt Charlos. Most Carlos fans love it and adore it, while most Charles fans ignore Carlos and seem to make him a bad person and compare the two. (Which driver was the only non rb winner last year?)

2. Carcar: IT'S HONESTLY SO GOOD!! It's such a random ship bc it came out of nowhere and we all started loving it. The jokes that are made (check Oscar's tt comment section) are so funny. It's probably in my top 5 because I love random funny ships like them. I also love the whole "we share a mutual good friend who wants us to get along but we low-key don't think we ever will" type trope. But Carlos has come forward and talked about their "rivalry" or lack of, I should say. So I approve of Carcar

3. Versainz: idk if I have talked about them, but if I have, oh well I'm gonna talk about them again. Versainz is the best ever. I miss them being teammates and the whole "we're both nepo-babies that need to make our dad's proud and we're fighting for the same seat" I WISH Carlos got that seat, tho I'm happy for Checo. Ily, Checo ���🏼 Versainz gives me that whole "we're low-key in love with each other but can't act on it bc we both have trauma and internalized homophobia." vibe and I love it lmaoo. THE FICS ARE SO GOOD TOO!!

10. Describe their first date

Uhhh i have many ideas but i'll go with sth simple. It's Carlos who asks Max to go out with him after veeeery long overthinking and encouragements from his friends. Max ofc fangirls because have you seen the enourmous crush he has on Carlos? They don't go out for dinner, no, but it's Carlos who cooks for Max, while Max watches him and makes them drinks. They talk, they laugh and then drink gin and tonic with their dinner, because they're not like others to drink wine. They don't do anything, only kiss a little and then cuddle. Carlos offers him to sleep over which he agrees (not something foreign with their history as teammates).

11. Do either try to hide their emotions if upset? Can the other still tell?

Maaaamma mia yes, most of the time. It comes from the deep rooted issues and trauma and the fact they're men which most of the time don't know how to communicate their feelings. Max is better at hiding his and longer they're together, better they get at telling what other is feeling.

12. Do they have many heated arguments? How do they smooth things over?

Not often, no. I don't think Carlos is the type to want to fight with anyone, even less their partner, so he tries to solve things before they can get too bad. But if they have them they solve it by spending some time apart or with sex. Max calls Lando and then Carlos calls Lando both asking for help and Lando is done with them both

13. Who’s the bigger tease?

I feel like they're pretty much the same but maybe Max is bigger tease. We've all seen how he's been trying to seduce Carlos.

14. How do their personalities compliment each other? How do they clash?

Carlos is more calm and Max sometimes needs someone there to bring him back to earth and calm him down. But they both can be pretty stubborn so that can raise some issues. Anyway I think they're pretty fit for eo, but not like 100%

15. Do they always say 'i love you' before leaving?

Not really, no. They know they do love each even without them saying it every time. They do kiss though

Rating: teen and up

Max is running high on adrenaline, not even the cramped space of the club can ruin that. It’s dark, club lights going off and on but never giving enough light to see who’s around him. There are a lot of hugs, lots of congratulations and it’s just a lot. But it’s the right kind of overwhelming and for once he doesn’t hate all the socialisation that comes with being a formula one driver.

Suddenly there are hands on his hips and it scares the shit out of him, the pleasant buzz of the alcohol under his alcohol dampening his senses. It must be obvious as he hears a dark voice chuckling within moments later. The owner of the voice is obvious but when Max manages to turn himself around without immediately losing the grip around his wrist, he’s faced with Carlos.

“Congratulations,” Carlos tells him, as if they hadn’t done that already lots and lots before the podium, on the podium and after the podium. But Max doesn’t mind that, he likes it even. He hadn’t realized before this podium how much he missed his Spanish ex teammate and today it was showing.

“You too,” Max says, genuinely happy for the podium. Carlos deserves them, really he should be on more of them.

“Didn’t get a lot of attention,” Carlos jokes and Max stills for a second but then realizes it’s a pure joke, nothing bitter hidden behind it. It’s true though - all of Carlos’ podiums never got the attention they deserve, always overshadowed by something else.

An idea is planted in Max’s head, one that doesn’t go away.

One that he doesn’t want to get rid off.

“I can give you all the attention,” Max says and he pulls on one of Carlos’ belt loops to pull them closer. To make his points.

A smirk appears on Carlos’ face and Max thrives off knowing that it’s his actions that are making the man look so sexy like this. “Would you?” Carlos asks while inching closer, his breath tickling Max’s lips.

“Yes.”

Max goes for it, kisses Carlos right there in the middle of that club. Fuck, he really missed Carlos.
