Can I get something off my chest?I MISS THE OLD KDRAMAS LIKE HELL. I miss that time when writers gave us flawed characters with not so perfect lighting, and real people faces and ugly hair. City hall? My name is Kim Sam soon? Healer? Heartstrings? Princess Hours? Coffee prince?My princess? I especially miss SBS , MBC and KBS. You could understand which kdrama was produced by which channel from the lighting alone or the photography. I feel like TVN's dramas, while aesthetically pleasing, are for the Western audience and are so perfectly perfect.

I feel like an old lady saying things like "k-dramas were so much better before netflix took over" and "remember drama fever service?? SOB!," but I really miss my dramas and the wild range of them.

You want a specific kind of slice of life that takes risks without worrying about viewership? JTBC was your jam. Need something really low rent and old school? MBC!

Worried you can't find a k-drama? IMPOSSIBLE with both viki and drama fever! And the combined subscription was like $14 bucks a month.

Now I have to illegally watch 50% of my dramas, and pay netflix AND disney so they can cast the same huge stars with disappointing endings (I'm NOT looking at you Run On, you were a gift). Because these streaming giants only care about growth, after they screwed up the k-drama eco-system, there's literally nothing on. I went from struggling to keep up with all of the new releases to only watching 2. Finally, Viki doesn't really get many good dramas anymore because they can't afford to buy them, and lots of actors are struggling to find work.

As a side note, everyone should just give up and watch No Gain No Love. Is it miraculous? NO. Is it shiny and glossy like anon is complaining about? YES. But is it old school cute? You bet aside from the horrid Amazon Prime interface.

The Beam Kirby and Tinkatuff were part of a "Collect all 6!" set, but the store had literally marked each box with what was inside- thank god cos I wanted the Tinkatuff 😂 Waddle Dee was a cute lil extra.

And... the anime figures... I've wanted a few more to put in my display case. This Miku really stood out to me, so that was a must. It was part of a deal but I didn't partake in it (3 figures is already a lot lmao). Always wanted a Miku figure though.

FINALLY found the Rem and Black Rock Shooter ones I wanted!!!!

AITA for not wanting my future Sister-in-law at my Wedding?

Never done this before, but here we go. This is going to be very long, spanning Years, so I hope that's alright.

Tl;dr at the bottom!

You can call me Shana (34f), and my fiance Jay, (35m). Jay has 2 siblings. An older sister, we'll call her Eve (37f), and a younger brother we'll call Ced (33m.) Ced has a fiance as well, we'll call her Nicky (27f).

For some context I am Autistic. Just enough to be "weird" and have issues that need some accomodation, but not enough that people can "see" it right away during cnversations. I am constantly told I don't ""act"" Autistic, which is a whole other problem in itself.

I have been friends with Ced and Jay since we were in Highschool. First with Ced because he was more outgoing, then later with Jay because we shared more interests. I used to go over to their house frequently to play Halo and other games. Ocassionally their older sister would be there, but at the time she was a much lauded University Student and had no time for her brothers, let alone some random nerdy tomboy.

During one Halloween Jay asked if I wanted to go to an Amusement Park with him. Because he knew I loved Halloween, Dressing up, and Amusement Parks. I did Not know this was supposed to be a date. I was very dense back then and had Very low self esteem. I didn't think Anyone was interested in me like that. And Jay was far too shy to correct me.

Fast forward. We're out of school and I had lost contact with them for a bit due to life getting in the way. I had a couple of boyfriends but it never went anywhere. I bumped into Jay one day and he asked me if I wanted to hang out like old times. So I go over to his apartment and we play games, have some snacks, and it's a Blast.

But here's the thing- Jay's sister is Also there. She was renting out the second bedroom of the apartment while working nearby to pay for her University courses. She didn't say much to me at the time and back then even tried to help me with a difficult situation with My school. It wasn't much, just going over an essay to try and figure out why the Teacher wouldn't accept it, but it was nice.

Jay asked me to hang out a couple more times before finally confessing that he'd liked me since highschool but wanted to have a car, stable job, and place to live before he asked me out properly. He wanted me to be his girlfriend. Of course I said Yes, considering the title of this post. lol

Fast forward. Jay and I are living together. Have for a while now. His sister had moved out and everything seemed fine. That's when I find out she's telling everyone I am a Gold Digger and a loose woman behind my back. Trying to break me and Jay up.

Jay is a Welder. He's not made of money and neither are their parents. I do live on Disability, but that's because of a car crash that wrecked my spine when I was 16. I live in pain every day of my life and even if I Could work- no one wanted to hire the Autistic girl. This community is pretty insular and judgemental. I've had jobs before but they never ended well. Jay and I are happy with our arrangement. I stay at home to clean, cook, and make hand crafts to sell while he goes to work. He's never complained about it and even if he Had- that is between myself and him.

Things go quiet for a while. His sister has moved over 7 hours away and Never contacts her brothers. We only see her maybe twice a year because she's a Teacher and it's hard to get from where she's living back to here. For the most part things are fine. I'm polite and try not to get into many conversations with her.

My biggest issue with her in that time is how she would talk over my fiance. He used to have a bad stutter but it's gotten much better over the years. Maybe because I don't talk over him and actually want to hear what he has to say. She criticises everything he does, berates him, and humiliates him in front of their family. She never lets him formulate a response and hammers at his confidence until my brilliant fiance is so checked out he just starts reading on his phone and not engaging in any conversation.

But it's only twice a year, so I suck it up and am polite. Like how an Adult should act.

Fast forward to about 2 years ago. Ced meets Nicky and we're introduced. We have very similar tastes, very similar attitudes, and we click Immediately. It's like having another sister suddenly and it's Awesome!

Future Mother-in-Law suggests us three girls get to know each other better and go to the big city on a Girls Day. I'm not really okay with it, but since Nicky will be there to commiserate with I think "it'll be fine."

It was not fine.

Eve is commanding, doesn't listen, ignores our every plea to slow down or let us stop for a rest, refuses to follow the map, and criticises Everything we suggest doing. In the end we only get to do a fifth of what we wanted. And since Eve and her mother bullied us into using Eve's car we would be Stranded if we didn't keep up.

It all comes to a head when we sit down at a restaurant to eat and Eve learns that Nicky is 10 years younger than her. Suddenly everything Nicky has said, no matter how logical or reasonable, is Completely disregarded. I can see Nicky getting more and more upset as the day wears on so I suggest going to a shop where we can grab some Teddy Bears. We're both Collectors. Of course this makes Eve roll her eyes at us, because clearly such childish delights are beneath her.

This woman teaches children 6-8 years old.

Fast forward further and Ced asks Nicky to marry him! We're excited because we'll actually be sisters in the near future.

All hell breaks lose.

Suddenly Eve texts our fiances, her younger brothers, this huge long thing about how I am an evil manipulative person who made Nicky hate her. Because Nicky is too young to have her own agency, even though she's been working and living on her own since she was 16. How her brothers Never message her, she never messaged them even once in all the years I've known them, and how her life is falling apart.

The inflammatory things she said about me and Nicky were so bad that when I showed my un-involved friend, without context, she asked if Eve was Jay's toxic Ex Girlfriend.

Nicky and I knew that Eve wouldn't listen to us so we went to speak to our future in-laws to resolve the issue calmly. But Eve had gotten there first, crying on the phone to her mother and blaming everything on me. During that talk neither Nicky or I could get a word in edgewise and I went from being described as a Mastermind to Autistic enough to be considered a child more times than I can count. Jay's father even shouted over me to shut me up.

Jay's dad is 6'5" and broad shouldered. He is a massive man. While I am 5'4" and, while broad shouldered, am still a fairly small woman. Having a man like that yell down at me is Terrifying.

Ever since then Jay's mom has been trying to force his sister into Every part of our wedding. She tried to get her to be my Maid-of-Honor but Nicky had already been chosen. Then she tried to make her a Groomsman, what the fuck- No, and then as the planner for our engagement party. She didn't even show up and it ended up being a party for mother-in-law's friends instead.

Eve even told myself and Nicky that she blocked us on Facebook for her own "Mental Health," because apparently seeing two happy women who would be Brides before her is just too much.

At this pont I have cut all contact with Eve, not that I had any to begin with, and refuse to go over to Jay's parents house.

Tl;dr- Future older sister-in-law is a raging Narcissist with an over-controlling self-righteous attitude and hates me because she can't manipulate her younger brother into doing whatever she wants anymore. And is also jealous that myself and another girl are getting married before her, while all she has is her two cats.

She is still invited to the wedding, but I really don't want her there.

So! Am I an sshole for not wanting her to be at my wedding where she'll make it All about her and potentially cause a scene? Let me know.

Quick Addition: Something I forgot to add. Jay and I have been together for 10 years now. He helped me through 2 Years of Therapy and Medication for Depression, Anxiety, and Childhood Trauma relating to being abused and exploited from the ages of 4 to 12 years old. He is my rock and my safe harbor. I love him dearly, the giant dork.

2nd Addition: Nicky said I could mention this! MIL took photos of Nicky's wedding dress while we were at the bridal shop. Her wedding is six months after mine. And then sent those photos to a friend of hers and Eve. Without permission. MIL offered to keep the dress at her house but that trust was already broken once. So Nicky's wedding dress is now safely at my place.

Currently Playing The Legend of Dragoon - Update 1.4

February 15, 2023

Hello, chapter 3!! In my last update, we were heading towards the Valley of Corrupted Gravity. A lot has happened since then, so here's a quick recap.

We made it through the Valley and met Kongol (again) at the Home of Giganto. He joined our team and he has been a very wholesome addition.

When we headed back to Fletz, we saved Princess Emille and met Lenus. Apparently she's in cahoots with Lloyd so now we are chasing her to... somewhere, I forget the name... but we get access to a ship, finally!

We eventually find her and she transforms into the prettiest dragoon ever. She was pretty tough but we beat her!

We also get some great shots of Meru in this scene. Dart & Shana are in the back after a scene of Shana saving him. So sweet.

I didn't take any pictures of the phantom ship, but we were on a phantom ship at some point. It was spoooooky. After we defeated Lenus and the monster, the ship sank... or the ship sank after the ghosts met Shana and they became at peace. Turns out Shana is a princess, the princess the ship members thought they lost.

While trying to get off the phantom ship, Rose and Dart fall off and we see a pretty epic fight scene of a bunch of dragoons (including Rose) fighting a Dragon. I wonder if Lenus was in there and I didn't spot her? Either way, after this epic FMV, we find Dart and Rose on an island together.

After running around with D and R alone, we eventually meet the rest of our party at Fueno and everyone gives Dart a hard time about spending the night with Rose. lol

OH YEAH, after we defeated the sea monster, Meru got her dragoon spirit!!

The king of Fletz is celebrating us by hosting a banquet and dance. None of the girls except for Shana want to dress up in gowns. Dart dances with Meru, which is sweet, and Albert is totally head over heels for Emille. Also very sweet. THERE'S A LOT OF SWEETNESS GOING ON, OKAY?

Disc 2 ends with probably the best ending EVER!? I played this last night on Valentine's Day... so yes, it was perfect.

Uhhhhhhhh UHHHHHHHHH UHHHHHH Well Most of my merlin ones have happy endings? If we're going least traumatized Um PERHAPS treat me warmly?

Oh not really hate but I got this one person commenting on my longfics that Merlin deserves better because arthur would go back to gwen if he could and that they don't like gwen. Like I'm sorry but my Arthur returns series is my love letter to the cannon version of the show in my mind. I'm not going to pretend Arthur never loved Gwen Even if the fic's main paring is Merthur, And even if I belive Gwen would be more likely to love Arthur but stay with the man she remarried (Who she also loved because In my mind she married again to a noble she loved for secrity AND LOVE because I want her to be happy in her life) and knew into old age in the afterlife.

I include sex scenes in longfics usually and if asked for a request. I do not think its what I am best at but I do my best!!!

When I started writing merthur I had a rule that I do not publish any of a fic until I am done with the entire thing. I do have some drafts however One is my version of What happens post cannon during gwen's reign. I Don't think I'll ever finish it because I'm CRAZY about merthur. and having Merthur in a fic helps keep me going with it.

16. What are your writing strengths? I like to think I am good at keeping In character, Besides that Dialouge and feelings I think. I like to know my characters deeply and be able to keep them fairly close to their cannon versions. Of course characters have LOTS of cannon versions depending on which time in cannon and how the story affects them. BUT still its somthing I like to focus on

I really love comments and I love getting into discussions with readers! It really makes my day to see that someone has commented on one of my fics.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Am I allowed to choose a soon to be published WIP? Words Are Dead, a microfic inspired by the Agnes Obel song of the same name in which Merlin and Arthur are unable to communicate when Arthur returns. Merlin has lost Brythonic, his first language, and his capacity to relearn it. He's simply been alive for far too long and his mind has suffered :(

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Like Every Tree has a prolonged bittersweet kind of ending but I think Always His Destiny wins.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Nope/not yet!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, though so far it hasn't been the focus of any of my works, there's no reason why that can't change though (the Venom one doesn't count, I make the rules here). As to what kind I'd say loving and intimate, I guess? Sometimes with a bit of a hurt/comfort element to it. Again, no reason why I can't branch out in the future ;)

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

While not labelled as a crossover, Like Every Tree was heavily inspired by Arthurian media both new and old, and one medieval Irish source. I did so much research for this fic and I'm still down those various rabbit holes. It was a homage to my favourite, janky cartoon movie from my childhood Quest for Camelot. Otherwise I don't write proper crossovers.

Don't think so.

No but I would love to!

I guess it really has to be Merthur! I don't recall a ship ever having such a hold on me. Those two are doomed but made for each other. The way they interact is so much fun to read/write.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Damn, this is definitely Be Here When the Weather Turns, a Mushi-shi fic. It has a very soft, restful and liminal vibe and I adore it. I really do wish I can finish it someday. So sometimes like a song, you share a piece of media with someone, or you associate it with a particular chapter in your life, and that song/piece of media brings up feelings. I'd like to think it's still worth a read. If you don't know Mushi-shi, please consider checking it out, it was weird and quiet and beautiful.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I can't deny that I put a lot of love into this hobby. Also @breadkween has told me that they really like my dialogue :3

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm really prone to typos. I can re-read something a hundred times and just fail to see them. I'm a very slow writer; what I put out usually goes through months of edits and change-ups. Lastly I have embraced a faux-pas or two for fun, such as starting sentences with 'and.' And no one can stop me >:)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I'd only be comfortable writing dialogue in a language I've formerly learned and have some level of familiarity with for fear of getting something wrong.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Okay I love this question because the answer is the highly formative Garth Nix's Keys to the Kingdom series, a YA series I was obsessed with, and have continued to read, and re-read as an adult and as unexpected prequels and sequels popped up in more recent years. I wrote it on a literal floppy disk :D First fandom I wrote for that I actually published online was Undertale.

Definitely Like Every Tree. I'm just really proud of it :3

Ruby is a rare type of protagonist

This is gonna be long, you’ve been warned!

I am a grown ass adult woman. I like female protagonists, I prefer watching them and relating to them, and always have.

I’ve watched a lot of animes since my teenage years, upwards of 400 last I counted on MyAnimeList a few years ago. I’ve been to Tokyo - twice - and spent at least 20 hours scouring the anime stores of Akihabara. I paid the Japanese mailing service to send a Saber figurine back to my home country since it was too big to bring in my luggage. (This one!)

Why does this matter and what does it have to do with Ruby? Read on:

During my years of being an utterly anime fanatic, I started to grow bored. After 400 animes, you’ve seen most of the plot twists. Most of the stereotypical personalities. All the classics have been watched and rewatched. The story beats, even if presented in a new packaging, becomes predictable.

You start to see the patterns, so to say. I’ve been hyped more times than I can count, only to be disappointed when yet another promising series took a predictable, cliché turn with its story or characters. It may not be sudden, sometimes it happens several episodes or even a few seasons into the show. So you never know for sure until having spent a lot of time watching.

There are a lot of GREAT animes with male protagonists, but how rare isn’t it to find one that does NOT build towards the guy being needing to become stronger than his enemies and winning some important final fight? (as is common in shounen in general)

As time went by I found myself getting more and more picky with what I wanted to spend time watching. I prefer shows with the cool, badass, strong girls, since those are the ones I enjoy watching and them being girls makes it easier for me to relate and enjoy their achievements.

Cool...

Badass...

...strong girls. 

These are what I want. Finding them, however, can be tedious work, especially in the role as main protagonists.

In the anime world, there are some common tendencies with strong female characters:

1) The badass female character is either a side-kick to the male protagonist, eventually become overshadowed by a male protagonist, OR in some cases by some new girl, because heaven forbid any of the cool girls get developed beyond their one single character arc. (ex. Fate/Zero, A Certain Magical Index, Shakugan no Shana, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri, Sword Art Online, Attack on Titan, any anime with a harem, and so many others - they can still be good shows though, that’s not the point!)

2) There are great animes out there with great female protagonists, however they are usually either a) sexualized (ex. Kill la Kill) or b) shows geared towards kids (ex. Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, The Owl Hourse (yes, I’m putting this here even if it’s not an anime) or c) romance focused (ex. Revolutionary Girl Utena). I love these shows for other reasons though!

3) The actually great action animes with badass female protagonists that are allowed to develop and not be overshadowed by their crush/secret male protagonist etc. do exist, but are sadly few and far between. (Soul Reaper is pretty great with Maka, although BlackStar steals a lot of space, and I prefer the anime for this exact reason. A Certain Scientific Railgun was my fav for a long time, but sadly Mikoto is in love with the harem protagonist of the main show and gets overshadowed whenever he’s involved.)

And it doesn’t matter if the show is named after the girl(s) or not!

Here are two girls, each with their own anime named after them (Railgun/Index). Guess who’s the most important character who actually drives the main story?

Shakugan no Shana: Yes, Shana is the name of the girl. Guess which character gets the most power-ups and biggest development?

There’s nothing wrong with liking these shows, I mean I watched them too, and I enjoyed them for the most part... but sometimes I just... whish the dude would stay a side-kick?

So, first impression of RWBY was... cautious optimism?

When I first watched RWBY, because an online friend suggested it, I was surprised to find four strong female protagonists - and Ruby presented as the main protagonist what with the very first episode being named after her and there was no guy in sight.

Seems good? Even if the animation is super wonky. Ruby is cool. I like her. She has an awesome weapon too and is competent with it. She even bites back at people instead of becoming submissive. She gets saved in first episode yes, but it was by an adult woman after a woman took over the fight from Roman.

Also no fanservicy panty shots, suggestive angles and what-not? Seems promising.

But I’d seen this before. A show starts out with a cool, interesting, badass girl as the main protagonist. Then at some point some guy gets introduced, and it turns out he’s special, and she crushes on him, and then he gets stronger, and now she’s his side-kick, and more girls come along, and everything keeps scaling upwards forever (except the original girl), you get the idea.

Then the show turned into some hybrid of Harry Potter x Sailor Moon x high school anime spinoff wannabe with questionable quality? Okay, but maybe with these interesting girls and some cool plot it can work?

The Jaundice episodes seemed to fulfill the prophecy and I lost interest halfway through. Yes, even if the episodes were just 6 minutes long.

I dropped RWBY and didn’t touch it again for several years.

By this point V4 had just finished. I was bored one day, and I decided to give RWBY another chance.

Got past V1 and V2. It was better than I remembered. Got to V3 and... oh no, is Pyrrha gonna do the “stealing the protagonist role” thing? 

Ugh. I hate when shows trade out their main characters for new ones because they can’t figure out how to develop the ones they already have. Pyrrha is fine, but I’m already commited to team RWBY you know? Pyrrha is so OP compared to the others, it won’t be fun watching her just demolish every single foe ever, especially if she’s gonna have magic as well. It’ll just be her special story along with her romantic story with Jaune. She is going to overshadow team RWBY and then what, is Jaune gonna come along and do the same to her eventually?

With little faith left, I pressed on to episode 9, 10, 11, and... holy shit. 

HOLY SHIT!

They really did that, didn’t they? They really made me think they were incompetent, cliché writers and all that. That they were gonna focus on Pyrrha and Jaune going forwards because they had no idea how to tell a compelling story with the girls they’d already established as “main protagonists”.

And then they a) Killed off the “ace student” promised for greatness and b) destroyed the High School setting and c) Allowed the bad guys to win and d) Introduced an actual competent villain AND e) Gave new depth to team RWBY and Ruby in particular.

I was HOOKED. I realized RWBY is a show that allows its protagonists to take a backseat now and then, only to hit hard with the actual meaningful stuff. Developing and letting side characters shine as well, so that it doesn’t seem like team RWBY are the only characters with purpose in this world.

Cause no matter how special or strong or high on the political ladder they are, no character in RWBY has all the answers, nor do they have any means to actually stop Salem. 

They still don’t!

Ruby has her silver eyes, but they didn’t “save” Beacon, or Pyrrha, or Penny, or Atlas. Actually, they may be more a curse than anything, now knowing about the Hound and what Salem can do to silver-eyed warriors. Not even a meaningful curse in the “I’ll become a cool vampire” type of curse, but just... horrible! No! Do not want this! Actually bad curse!

Ruby can’t solve this alone. She’s not all-powerful, she isn’t the shounen protagonist who always powers up in a pinch, she’s not the Maiden of all Maidens, she doesn’t always have the answers, she’s not Ozpin’s host or Salem’s Chosen or any of those clichés. That’s not the point of her character and the story we’re being told.

Ruby, like everyone else in this story, has to train, and learn, and fail, and do mistakes, and be wrong, and correct herself, and try again, and do better next time, and trust, take risks, experience loss and helplessness, and we have not seen the end of her development. I’m hyped for V9 not because of new fights, power-ups or what-not, but because I’m excited to see what Ruby has learned from their failures so far, how they’ll pick themselves up, and how they’ll try to approach the defeating of Salem. 

Because at this point in time, they have no idea how to do any of it, and that’s what excites me most about RWBY and Ruby’s character in particular.

Ruby does not have all the answers, but she’s trying anyway, because the alternative is to give up.

She’s 17 years old and has been thrust into war against a foe that can’t die, into a role of leadership she has no grasp on how to handle. She’s trying to learn from those around her, imperfect human beings as they too are. She’s doing her best, and although she happens to have special Grimm-melting laser beam eyes, that won’t stop Salem. It won’t save Remnant from the gods.

“What are you?” is going to be a very interesting question to explore in V9.

Ruby is a rare type of protagonist because she’s not the answer to every problem, she’s not the Chosen One solely able to save the world. Yet she’s also not overshadowed or sidelined by someone else. Her story intrigues me more than anyone else’s, in any other show I’ve seen.

Y/n couldn’t remember exactly when she fell for Chris. Maybe it was the first time she met him. That day she remembered very clearly. 

Upon Scott’s insistence (y/n) travelled to Boston from LA where she was staying with Scott. She met Scott through work and both soon became inseparable. She knew how close Scott was to his family mostly because he never gave up talking about how much he missed them. So it didn’t come as a surprise to her when her friend kept bouncing on the seat with anticipation throughout the flight.

After a seven hours journey and multiple flight movies later they had arrived at Lisa Evans’ home in Boston. She was just as warm and amicable as (y/n) had imagined. The absence of ruth and 100 watt smile was something you were sure she passed down to her kids.

As expected the the house was filled with accquitances and family. Laughter and endless conversations were flowing. Hours passed and (y/n) felt like she had shaken more hands and hugged more people than she was usually used to. By the end of the day as much as she hated to admit it she had forgotten most of the names of Scott’s friends’ and extended family and all their stories began sounding much the same. She didn’t remember a lot but she remembered him. She remembered Chris. 

An unsuspecting Scott was suddenly tackled by a larger man as the two of them stood by Shana and Carly. She heard the laughter before she saw his face.

“Chris stop it. Get off me you jerk!” Scott tried to push his brother away who had now held the younger man in a headlock. 

“You’ve gone weak Scott. Need to work out more instead of being lazy.” Chris said through his laugh. Beside (y/n) the sisters both shook their heads and walked away as if understanding that their request of asking their brothers to act like mature adults would only fall on deaf ears.

“Well not all of us are Captain America.” Scott broke free from his brother's onslaught and shoved him jokingly. This made Chris laugh harder and she remembered looking at him in that moment. Like really looking at him!

His head thrown back, a hand on his pec. His eyes covered with glasses and a cap with a big B on the front. As much as she wouldn’t admit it to anyone (y/n) also remembered ogling at the way his shirt seemed to hug his muscles almost as if it could tear with any more movement. She also remembered a voice in her head silently praying for that to happen.

Scott talked about his brother quite often. He had once asked (y/n) if she’d be open to dating him. At that she had choked on her coffee and almost given poor Scott a fright. After that he momentarily stopped his match making gambit. And the reason behind that was that Chris was taken or “it’s some on again off again thing” according to Scott. But right before they arrived in Boston, Scott had commented “they’re done for good and he is better off without her”, when (y/n) had asked if Chris would be there too. And better off he was!

(y/n) remembered Scott introducing them. She remembered Scott’s poor attempt at setting the two of them up. She remembered calling the younger man out for his lack of skills at playing Cupid and she definitely remembered a boisterous laugh leaving Chris’ incredibly inviting lips. She remembered feeling proud that yes! She made Chris Evans laugh. However, she failed to remember protecting her own heart from falling for Chris.

(Y/n) was fairly certain she developed feelings for Chris that day. Or maybe it was when he told her he’d like to get to know her better at the end of the day. Or maybe it was when he travelled to New York on her birthday in the middle of the night because she had casually mentioned she didn’t want to be alone on that day.  Or maybe it was how caring, patient and  perceptive he was. He always took care of her. In the short time they spent together he soon became a confidante, a pillar and a shoulder to lean on on her darkest days. 

So when he stood in front of her right now with red rimmed eyes and a tear stained face she didn't know what to do. The roles were reversed and she could only stare at him. 

As if sensing her uncertainty Chris said softly, “I didn’t know where else to go.” 

“Christopher. Come in!” she opened the door wider letting him enter. He made a beeline to the couch and held the yellow throw pillow closer to his chest. He looked so small and so broken. She was scared to reach out and touch him worried she would break him with the slightest touch. 

“I am sorry.” His hoarse voice broke her out of her rivière. 

“What are you sorry for?” (y/n) took the chance and reached out to him. He didn't move. She didn't pull back.

“I am sorry I came over unannounced.” He sniffled, wiping his nose on the back of his sleeve.

“Christopher you never have to apologize to me. I am always here for you, remember that!” Chris smiled a little. Whenever (y/n) called him ‘Christopher’ it made him smile. Or maybe it was just being with her that made him happier. But right now even her hand over his couldn't take the weight off his shoulders. A sob suddenly raked through his body as he felt the wave of melancholy wash over him again. (y/n) was taken aback as Chris slouched further, his head now on her lap. She rubbed his back hoping to make the broken man feel better.

“Christopher, bub you have to talk to me.” she shifted a little so he could lie down more comfortably.

“(e/n) called me last night.” Chris said in a low voice.

(Y/n) straightened up a little bit. Before he could even say anything else (y/n) had already began plotting ways to murder her. How could she hurt him? How could she hurt the man (y/n) loved...as a friend obviously!

“What did she say?” (y/n) looked at Chris who was now sitting up. His cheeks were wet with tears and all (y/n) wanted was to grab his face and plant small kisses all over his face till he felt better.

“She...uh...she said i would regret breaking up with her and that no one would want to be with me because i am getting older and no one will put up with me and i will crawl back to her.” By the time he was done he had moved away from (y/n) and if that wasn't indication enough the redness spreading across his ears and cheeks told her how embarrassed he was. He had curled up on the other end of the sofa, his breathing labored, hands wriggling together. In the time that they had been friends, (y/n) had learnt to read his body language a bit. She knew he was about to have an attack. 

In an instant she was kneeling in front of him. 

“Okay listen to me. Everything that she said was wrong. It's all lies. She is trying to get in your head and mess with you. Christopher, you're a wonderful man. You are so kind, you're loving. You're incredibly talented and hard working. You are giving and you love so completely and so deeply and any woman in this world would be lucky to be with you.” (y/n) held his hand in hers. 

“You’re a good man in a bad situation. This isn’t your fault. You have a good heart. And I promise you that this feeling of despair is fleeting. It will go away and till that time comes I am here. I am not going anywhere and we can move through this together.” Had it not been for her words that left him tongue tied or his erratic heart beats that stopped him from thinking Chris wouldve told (y/n) how much he loved her in that moment. But for now he settled for a soft smile. (Y/n) mirrored it.

As he breathing evened out he slid down to the floor to sit in front of (y/n). He leaned closer and so did (y/n). Their foreheads now touching. Eyes downcast. Fingers brushing just shy from completely intertwining. Heart beating in a synced rhythm like a sweet symphony. She didn't look up and neither did he afraid that their eyes might speak the words they were hesitant to.

(y/n) couldn’t remember when she fell for Chris but she knew that with every passing day she was only falling deeper...

I have literally downloaded an apk for the universe app to be able to vote since it isn't in available in belgium for some reason,, so I have deserved the right to ramble about my favorite girls on this program.

yes, there ARE 10 trainees here instead of 9, but that's because I have a 4th J-GROUP trainee I want to talk about. other than mnet, I did want to keep the ratio to keep it fair, so I have 3 faves per group here!

K-GROUP: kang ye seo (4mintue's crazy)

I've talked about her before, so I won't go too into this one, but I AM a sucker for talent+a good attitude (looks at jinhyuk and hangyul out of the corner of my eye), and yeseo really ticks these boxes! she's also very very adorable and pretty :) right now, she's at position 2 on the show, so I'm hopeful for her doing well

K-GROUP: huening bahiyyih (apink's mr. chu)

if y'all know me, this one was to be expected... I don't want to be biased purely because she's kai's sister, but it rlly was inevitable. honestly, though, I have a soft spot for all of the huening siblings (we know lea and bahiyyih through youtube) because they're so sweet. I also feel like it's inevitable that bahiyyih turns out to be really talented if she takes after her siblings, but I feel like she lacked some confidence in her audition which I honestly can't blame her for. I hope she gets a confidence boost!! her vocals and dance were both very stable, but due to the lack of aura or presence it didn't really stand out. so with some practice and getting used to this situation, I feel like bahiyyih will get pretty far! I hope she gets a good part in fiesta, because that could really leave a good mark.

K-GROUP: seo young eun (nct127's kick it)

HER KICK IT PERFORMANCE BLEW ME AWAY

that's sUCH a hard song to pull off, let alone for girls, let alone for girls who literally 10 seconds before were introducing themselves so bubbly. I really cannot wait for what she will do in the future and I'm also so happy for her that she's in top 9 right now. she really deserved it. her dancing and her voice are both very alluring, so she catches your eye and hoLDS it. she demands attention when she performs. I hope she keeps up her streak. I also really like her teammate ji ah, so I'm voting for her cell and not young eun's.

K-GROUP: choi yu jin (hyuna's bubble pop)

it takes so much confidence to present yourself like this, so I can't even imagine how it must be for an idol who has debuted 7 years ago. I felt really bad for her, but yujin is also an absolute angel as far as I know, and as we have established I like good attitudes. the calm way in which she handled that call-out made me really respect her even more. she will be pretty popular, so I'm currently not voting for her, but I'm voting for her cell instead!

J-GROUP: sakamoto mashiro ((g)i-dle's dumdi dumdi)

even if I'm not that big of a fan of the song, I can recognize how absolutely stable her vocals were while doing that choreo. aside from that, her talent has been proven before by being part of yup, so she has had a thorough training and I feel like she'll be quite strong!

J-GROUP: nonaka shana (blackpink's boombayah)

she looks so so sO sweet and her voice was clear as glass during that boombayah performance! she looks quite innocent but I feel like she'd be able to pull through with some reversed charms (like the girlies from the crazy stage did). I do hope she won't focus on purely cute, because that does get old for me fast. I wouldn't normally pick someone like shana out, but she grabbed my attention with her amazing vocals.

J-GROUP: oki fuka (mamamoo's gogobebe)

fuka did a lot of the rap bits in the stage, which really surprised me. it was stable and right, the opposite of what I expected her to do if you look at her profile pic (sorry!). she deservedly got top9 candidate, and I feel like she has some more to prove. I honestly fear for her a bit, but I hope the future performances make her stand out more!

C-GROUP: su rui qi (chungha's snapping)

I followed her in youth with you 2, so I was really excited to see her back! and she's just as good as I remember to be, maybe even better! she's really made to fill an ace position, and I feel confident she will. she's eye-catching and confident without seeming arrogant, a balance most struggle to find and which will be a strong plus going forward.

C-GROUP: gu yi zhou (hwasa's maria)

maria is such an incredibly hard song to pull off, with its advanced choreo and how the low pitch is followed by a full vocal line in the chorus. the way her and her teammate ate that without embarrassing themselves completely is sUCH a feat. gu yi zhou is also very very pretty and she really just stood out to me. I'm not too sure about her chances yet, so I look forward to seeing more of her hopefully!

C-GROUP: xu zi yin (sunmi's siren)

once again,, a super hard song to do, you either pull it off or you get ready to sink in the ground. even more so if the original singer is literally sitting right in front of you as you do it and is supposed to grade you after... I can't even imagine. xu zi yin also seems like quite the sweetheart, so I hope to get to know her better soon!

these are all of the girls I'm voting for right now! for cells, as I've said, I'm voting choi yu jin's and yoo ji ah's, and then also bahiyyih's since I'm sort of worried for her. I hope you'll give these and all other girls a lot of love during the program AND after!!! oh, and please tell me who you're voting (or just rooting) for in the reblogs/tags!

Promise

I can't believe how beautiful my life is now. During highschool i was your everyday thug below average grades, bully, drugs addict, etc.

My life took a turn when she came to me, she was like an Angel, a Nobel women it was love at first sight. Her Love changed me for better. Soon after highschool we got married.

It's been 3 years since then and I have a decent job now, not to mention she is pregnant and I feel like the happiest man on earth.

On the day of delivery,

Near the operation theatre doctor seems to be ina hurry

" Doctor!! Is everything alright and going smoothly. "

" About that..., there seems to be complications and we are sorry to inform that we can only save one of them you must choose between your wife and child.. "

I was shocked but without thinking much "The wife... Please! Doctor save my wife!"

Moments later a loud noise followed

It was my wife , and her words like end of the world. Tears broke from my eyes. Soon after the doctor said iam blessed with Triplets 1 Daughter and 2 Son's.

In operation theatre,

Shana ( daughter ), Shun ( elder brother ) and Shaun ( younger brother ) they all live separated now because they were adopted by different families. Initially they don't want to leave eachother but,

Shana was very identical to her mother thus, was chosen to be adopted my a big family so Shun and Shaun did not put much resistance to let her go for bright future.

Soon after Shun and Shaun too were separated.

Shaun was very confident and was comfortable around stranger so I don't need to worry about him much.

But,

Shun was a nice kid infact he was way to nice to live in this world. He even helps his bully and saves him from punishment after getting bullied.

Years passed my nothing much happened They all are in college now. Shun no longer gets bullied apparently because he was the luckiest when it comes to good genes not to mention he is smart and innocent as hell. Look at him drinking coffee with his friends.

But good things don't last forever. The college scum Danny have bad interest towards Shun. He always look at him with this uneasy look. But sometimes Danny remindes me of my past self imean he is not like me but gives similar badboy Vibe not to mention he is from a very rich and powerful family so he act all high and mighty. He doesn't even care about college rules and smoke whenever he gets a chance.

Just after finishing gymnastics class in locker room,

It seemed fishy when the coach asked only Shun to stay after class with him but little did I know Danny bribed coach for this. Shun returned to the locker room it seemed deserted but when Shun was in middle of changing I heard a shout,

" Ah....!!! "

I never look when my children are changing or taking private time but I had to this time.

It was Danny , he hit Shun with a metal bat. I can't believe my eyes, was he trying to murder my son I started praying to God to save my son's life but, Danny had different intentions.

He tied Shun to a bench took off his remaining clothes and started doing some nasty stuff to him. I can't believe this if happening, Danny seems to be only preparing and waiting for him to regain consciousness.

I know what I have to do now, I have lived as a ghost for 10 years now in this time I have met other ghosts and they taught me about my current position. Unlike them I am not bound to this realm with desire but promise instead therefore i can't possess but have greater influence. I flew to Sam, Shun's roommate he is short and fat but he is a true friend of Shun. I can't use my powers unless we share same goal.

The night passed away and Sam way now worrying about Shun. He was half naked but I don't have time to worry about such things. I was a bit worried since it was my first time but continued by overlaped my presence with him and formed a symbiotic relation.

"It will be painful but endure it" I sad to him

Sam seemed flustered but moments later Sam's body now engulfed in burning pain as his body fat melted and rock hard muscles started appearing with his hight now rapidly increasing. Sam in agony rushed out of the bathroom in confusion and pain,

"Wha..t. is happening...to....me!!?"

He noted the change in his voice and was shocked to the bones.

"I know it was painful but it was necessary your old body was not adequate to save Shun"

In shock Sam turned to the mirror.

"I know you are surprised and confused but save it for later and move we must help Shun quick!"

"Wait what!? My body is moving on its own but I am still in control.. what is happening?"

"Don't worry kid, I will not be here for much longer and currently you are far better than your old self "

"Truly I have never felt this energy before but what do u mean by you will not be here for much? And...."

Interrupting in between "All you need to know is that this is the new you weather you like it or not."

Meanwhile In locker room,

Shun started to wake up" What happened... ahhh..my head wait What!!? why am I tied? what is happening here!? "

In a cocky voice " Good morning, mister Nice guy! You sure sleep like a baby. I kept pumping my self up with vitality booster all night for you."

Shun in confusion "Danny is that you. Why am I naked and whats going on.... Wait!? What are you doing AHH.....ahm......... STOP no please! Ahm...........ah....!!"

Danny while grin on his face "HAHAHAHA... l can't believe you all I did was suck you dick and God! Where were you hideing a huge 10 inch monster like this. I never thought DEFILING a pure sprit like you can be so... much fun!"

After some time Sam arrived in the locker room and in desperation looked for Shun but the search didn't end pleasant with eyes wide open he saw Shun covered in cum and Danny thrusting his dick inside.

Danny in pleasured voice "hm....I don't know who you are, anyway Look Shun we have got some company maybe they want in on the fun hahaha..... You are so popular are you not by little pure Shun... correction by Monster Dick Bitch!"

Both Sam and I looked at Shun his eyes no longer had the light to live on, we were furious and wanted to distroy Danny so bad we rushed " YOU BASTARD!!! " and punche him with all our might. A bright flash occurred .....

Moments later,

I realised I have been separated from Sam. And Sam was carrying Shun and was preparing to leave it seemed like he doesn't remember me at all. I looked around for that bastard and saw him on the floor in most miserable position But, something doesn't fell right.

After a few months,

Looking back now I totally messed up, that day the bright flash was because reality changed a lot. Let's say Sam have no recollection of his past self or me and was a total dude from beginning. Danny is trash with no talent or smarts and to top it all off now belong to a poor family with no background. But, Shun got a total upgrade, he still have his past characteristics and trait with new found confidence. Also, he was adopted to a strong and rich family in this new reality. Only down side is he is no longer our inocent Shun but who cares he is still cute.

78. One Good Earl Deserves a Lover by Sarah MacLean: did i get this from the library because of the title? yes. is it a fantastic story? also yes. book 2 in the rules of scoundrels series. romance novel. there is sex.

The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman: magical library world at the heart of multiple universe has agents that retrieve unique works. featured universe is a sort of victorian england plus elves and werewolves and vampires and dragons and magic and this book is FANTASTIC. still need to get the others because IT IS A SERIES BUCKLE UP BUTTERCUP

80. The Rogue Pirate’s Bride by Shana Galen: book 3 of the sons of the revolution series. look i like romance novels. i especially like that you don’t have to read them in order. its a romance novel. there is sex. also PIRATES and the leads saving each other’s lives.

CHARACTERS CAN COME OUT OF THEIR BOOKS. theres a whole diagonalley esq space that houses characters that can’t go back. chaos and danger ensue when uriah heep refuses to go back into his book. magic!

Exhalation by Ted Chiang: this might be my favorite book of all quarantine. and i read a lot of books. a collection of short stories that all fucked me up, but in a good way? title story contains the sentence, “It’s no coincidence that “aspiration” means both hope and the act of breathing.” which like, how dare you sir

94. Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell: book 2 in the simon snow series, which is a fantasy series created by rowell in her novel Fangirl. She then proceeded to write fanfic of this already fictional series. i’m in love with the meta. 3rd book out in 2021.

95. Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward: set in mississippi before/during/after hurricane katrina hits, follows one family through the eyes of the daughter. tw: sexual assault, dog fighting, harm to dogs, death of dog

98. The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson: a very Spanish vibe fantasy novel. book 1 in a series. chosen one trope. new queen stumbles into the resistance. magic!

The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley: first book in a mystery series. a young teen girl is super into chemistry in 1950′s england countryside. someone is murdered in her garden. she tries to figure out what happened because her dad is still shell shocked. cw: kidnapping, harm to children

A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe by Alex White: first in the salvagers trilogy. motley crew turns into found family on a space ship. in this world almost everyone has magic. older female protagonist. queer representation out the wazoo, SPACE. boots just wants to brew her beer and be left alone.
