We all agree that Haesol is touch starved and if she wasn't so worried about Yeonwoo leaving her she would be insufferable with the amount of love she would show him right?
#im telling yall acts of service and physical touch are her love languages#she needs him close to her so bad that it physically hurts when hes not there#like i know that just being anywhere with him is all she needs#she needs him to function as a sane human being and ot shows#who needs chocolate when you have Yeonwoo!!!#yeonwoos innocence#yeonsol#kimira. thoughts#raves and rambles

Yeonsol au where Elf Yeonwoo meets Human Haesol and they spend time together and he falls in love. Elves and humans can't interact so he has to go back home. He leaves knowing that he will never see her again because elves and humans have different life spans but when comes back in a moment of weakness... she's still there???
AND she says she's been waiting for the beautiful elf that captivated her heart this whole time???
An elf leaves the enchanted forest to play with his favorite hairless apes. It’s only been 15,000 years, they surely haven’t changed much. Right?

What sucks about entering a fandom midway to it finishing is that you'd have to wait a long time for the creator to finish the project after being left on a 'cliffhanger'. I don't even want to imagine joining the fandom from the beginning the project started.
(And yes. This is about epic: the musical.)

Well I don't know about the others but in Yeonwoo's case he didn't break up with her because of "I feel like you're too good for me" he broke up with her because he realized that she does not feel the same affection for him.
Or at least he thinks that.
Yeonwoo's break up with Haesol is different because he does not want his love to be a burden. Haesol assumes that just because she does whatever he wants he will stay with her but does not understand that things have to be reciprocal. They're fundamental views on love are different. And this clash in views is why they broke up.
Yeonwoo understands that love has to be a reciprocal thing and not a one-way, and because of that he broke it off. He assumes that Haesol does not feel the same about him. He does not want to keep her in a relationship where he assumes she is unhappy. And that in another self is an entire other debacle. Him assuming that she does not like him back when all the signs point to she's literally obsessed with you. But the main point is he understands that loves a two-way street and she doesn't.
Haesol has a fundamentally broken view on what love is. she thinks that if you do with a person wants they stay with you forever. She does not understand that she also has to have some emotional involvement in the relationship. And this lack of understanding is what leads Yeonwoo into thinking that she does not feel the same for him.
It is very obvious that she likes him back but because of this disconnect that they have it ended in this breakup.
In all honesty this breakup when it comes to them in specific is very good for them because their relationship did not start off on the right foot and they need to break up put the pieces back together and come back together again on a healthier note.
Legit question... Do people like this trope?
At the risk of coming across as a little insensitive, I just don't understand the appeal of "I think we should break up because I feel you're too good for me."
I get being insecure, I get being afraid of getting abandoned, I get not wanting to get your hopes up just to get disappointed later, I get how the anxiety might make things seem worse than they actually are... But like... I just don't find this interesting drama.
We know the characters are just gonna stay apart for a while, they'll realize they are in fact good enough to be with the other person because the concept of "being out of someone's league" is total bs and what matters most is just making sure the two sides make each other happy.
"But they DON'T make each other happy. One side is making the other feel inferior." 🥺
I guess...? I don't know. I'm not sure how often this happens in real life, but it's just a way of thinking that feels odd to me.
Like, I understand not wanting to be with someone because you feel you two don't match, but not wanting to be with someone because you feel they deserve better?
Shouldn't you let the other person decide what's good enough for them? Shouldn't you try to consider how happy you truly make the other person before just taking this happiness away from them out of nowhere?
Idk... It's weird to me...
I don't personally see this trope much, but anytime it does show up, it always feels forced and unnecessary, and it makes the characters seem immature.
I get that insecurity and anxiety are very common and very relatable, but I think there are more interesting ways to tackle these themes that the way this trope tends to be handled.
Maybe I just haven't seen it being used in the right narrative yet, but it always feels like if that's all it takes to split a couple, then they probably weren't a good couple to begin with.
I think I'm just hard to please when it comes to break-ups in a story. If it feels like they're breaking up just for the sake of breaking up, then it falls flat to me.

who’s yeonwoo and why are they innocent
yeonwoo is the main character of yeonwoos innocence lol part of his whole character arc is the revelation that he isnt so innocent (though its mostly not his fault heh)
actually i think its a really good manhwa in a lot of ways like first the characters are amazing. all of them have their own backstory and their own issues that come to light when x y or z incident happens at their high school. the main ship is a typical shoujo but genderbent -- yeonwoo is a lot like the typical main girl in a shoujo behaviourally and lookswise (which also.. gets explored in depth in a way i did NOT anticipate)(by that i mean he has a pretty horrible backstory surrounding it) and the .. his love interest .. i forgot her name it starts with a k . shes very like.. sporty, strong ,tall, stoic. so .. yanno, genderbending i suppose . its the thing that made me read it in the first place cus im a sucker for that kind of subversion ajfjf
so yea the ship itself is super cute and in general so r the friendships n shenanigans that pop up, but the author also decides to start dropping in hints of a supremely terrible backstory for yeonwoo and his friend and it builds BEAUTIFULLY!!!
and its also written amazingly like as someone who usually reads rofan manhwa this is absolutely not the tell dont show infodumping they like to do its really fun and its easy to invest yourseld in it. so yea u should read yeonwoos innocence and also im gonna ask @yeonwoos-innocence if theyve got anything to add cus theyre more insane about it than i am lol

I've been listening to Laufey lately and the inspiration that her songs give me are absolutely insane.
the song haunted from her bewitched album is great for a Exe's to Lover's au. The more I think about it the more Yeonwoo and Haesol are perfect for an ex's to lovers au. There high school relationship as of right now is not to stable. They both have heaps on insecurities that prevent them from opening up with each other. Haesol with her family troubles and Yeonwoo with his trauma of what happened to him in middle school (I pray for him everyday.)
These insecurities can very much so break there relationship and contrary to what most people would think Yeonwoo would be the one to breath up with Haesol. I should do a analysis on her character and why she wouldn't even think to break up with him. it could help me with my future works.
Back to the topic Yeonwoo would break up with Haesol maybe because he feel disgusting when there relationship eventually gets to the point of being intimate with each other or there relationship gets leaked to there peers and things go haywire. His school life could start to ruin his mental state and just reinforce his one biggest fear "I would be her only flaw" It would ruin him and he would feel like nothing next to her.
This could be after Junhyuk left him and he could start isolating himself from other people out of fear of them leaving too. Maybe that would be the main reason he leaves not only because of the rumors but also he doesn't want someone else to leave him.
So they break up and Yeonwoo finds that if he wants to get better he needs to be bolder and more comfortable being in front of people. it's always been a head cannon of mine that he would be a good actor. So he stays with the theater club (after the play) and he finds he likes acting a lot. He goes to collage and eventually lands an interview with an agency and he starts acting and his confidence grows
time skip and He's a well know actor. One day gets an offer that is unlike anything he's gotten before and it reminds him of his high school days. He takes the offer as a way to sort of go back to those times and do things differently.
When he goes to the meeting for all the actors and crew members to get acquainted with them he finds out that... Haesol is the female lead he will be acting with and chaos ensues.
Even better Haesol has not moved on from Haesol at all and is still hung up on him. will she be able to get him back? Will Yeonwoo accept her advances?

Ah. I see. Then it was my mistake for misunderstanding the situation. My apologies 😓🙏🏼
And this is also a great analysis of their situation. Thanks for sharing.
