Opening up. Living your truth. Falling in love. This is the story of Elsa and Honeymaren. co-written with and art created by Jessi-Skylark and inspired by her Elsamaren Love Comic 2. 3.
Restless spirits….
A quest for answers….
Ahtohollan….
Elsa’s breath hitched, a wave of euphoria sweeping through her body.
Ahtohollan!
The voice.
The fifth spirit.
She was the fifth spirit.
And Anna….
Queen Anna of Arendelle….
The other half of the bridge….
Elsa squinted, a bright light reflecting off the water.
Almost as a revelation.
She thought it could have been a wonderful dream….
But no; that was her reality.
So now what?
“You belong up here.”
The familiar words echoed through her head, sending an electric shock through her body.
Here... she repeated.
It gave her a feeling she never quite had in Arendelle.
Maybe it was the connection to her mother.
Maybe it was unlocking her full powers.
Maybe it was freedom.
Maybe it was....
“Oh…” Elsa realized, a blush coming to her cheeks, “what now?”
She had been so caught up in the celebration of everyone returning to Arendelle; and of Anna stepping into her new role as queen. She didn't give her new life in Northuldra a second thought.
Elsa looked up, watching Kristoff's wagon disappear below a distant hill.
The weight of all the changes hit her.
Everyone she loved was leaving.
And Anna….
Her rock….
Her foundation….
Her everything….
Where did that leave Elsa?
What was she doing?
A tight pain pulled at her chest.
Anna was going back to her old life.
And Elsa….
She….
I get to start my new one, she realized!
A lighter feeling began to replace the panic. What was this?
Relief...?
Excitement...?
Elsa took a deep breath, the crisp fall air tingling in her nose.
It was freedom.
Freedom to just be.
Except….
How inconsiderate of her to impose on these wonderful people like this.
They had just seen the mist lift. Trapped for over thirty years...some had never even heard of the sky...constant battles with the spirits and trapped soldiers.... They were free now, too. Perhaps she had no right to insert herself this way.
"I could live in Ahtohollan..." Elsa thought aloud. The environment was akin to her ice palace, after all.
"Absolutely not!" Honeymaren blurted.
Elsa blinked.
Had she been there the whole time?
Honeymaren's broad leathered shoulder brushed up against Elsa's.
There was a warmth she hadn't quite experienced before.
"What I mean is..." Honeymaren cleared her throat, "you can stay with me. If you'd like."
Her words caught Elsa by surprise.
It was more than a kind gesture, it....
It was new.
Most people shied away from Elsa. She was so accustomed to only being close to Anna. The thought of sharing that with anyone else....
Yet there was something inviting about her confidence.
The way she didn't give it a second thought.
She just....
Offered.
It was somehow both intimidating and wonderful.
Elsa cupped her hands in front of her, biting her tongue. "I wouldn't want to intrude."
"You wouldn't," Honeymaren promised. "It'd be my pleasure. And..."
Pause.
"You're my friend."
Friend.
Such a foreign concept to Elsa.
There had only ever been Anna. But there were still times when....
She had to keep her distance.
To protect her.
To have that with someone else....
Would that be safe?
Would she be safe?
Before Elsa could conjure a response, Yelena intervened. “Don’t be ridiculous. We have a spare hut.”
“Oh…. Of course,” Honeymaren commented.
She almost sounded….
Disappointed, somehow.
“Let me show you,” Yelena gestured in the direction. “But don’t let that salamander in. I don’t trust him yet.”
After all that transpired, why would she?
Elsa lifted her finger, gently rubbing the head of the blue reptile perched on her shoulder. Bruni yipped contently before climbing onto Elsa’s hand and allowing her to set him down. He toddled onto a nearby rock, licked his eye, and disappeared into the forest. Elsa, meanwhile, took her leave behind Yelena.
She couldn’t help but glance back at Honeymaren. “See you tomorrow…?”
She bit her tongue, a throb of anticipation in her chest.
Honeymaren waved back with a smile and then retreated to her hut.
Why did Elsa suddenly want to turn around…?
Elsa closed her eyes, allowing her body to relax.
She arched her back, breathing in deeply.
The sweet scent of nature.
The crisp air.
It almost took her back to when she created her ice palace.
To the first time she could finally breathe.
What a sensation.
“Good morning,” Honeymaren greeted.
Elsa took a sharp breath.
Honeymaren!
She sprung to her feet and straightened her posture, quickly turning to meet her.
“Good morning.”
Was that the best she could come up with? She could be more considerate than that.
‘Honeymaren! How are you this morning?’
Or even, ‘oh! Nice to see you again.’
Maybe not the latter. That was far too informal.
Was it supposed to be difficult to make friends? Was it possible for someone to make her feel simultaneously comfortable and awkward?
“Did you sleep well?”
“I…. I did. Thank you.”
“Good…. Great! Fantastic!”
Honeymaren averted her gaze, lightly kicking at the ground beneath. She looked almost as nervous as Elsa felt.
It was kind of charming.
She was charming.
“Anyway…” Honeymaren fiddled with the end of her braid, “I was just wondering if you wanted a tour. But you probably still need to settle in. And you said last night you wanted to visit Ahtohollan. I’m sure you’d rather–”
“Yes!”
Elsa felt her cheeks go red.
Was that too eager?
But why wouldn’t she be? She had only seen a small portion of the forest. And this was her chance to learn more about Northuldra. Her people. Her mother.
“What I mean to say is….”
She took a breath.
“I’d love to.”
Pause.
“To go with you…. I mean…. Learn more about you…r people…or mine…ours…. Northuldra, rather.”
Elsa cleared her throat, regaining her composure.
Get it together, Elsa.
She blinked, noticing Honeymaren offered her hand out and a warm smile further drawing her in. Elsa found her gaze shifting towards Honeymaren’s hand. It was so tempting to reach out. Would she feel as strong as it looked? Or perhaps in a warm embrace like one of Olaf's hugs? She felt her hand begin to reach out, only to instinctively pull it back.
But there was no question in her mind that she would follow Honeymaren.
To explore the forest!
Because it was her home.
And now Elsa’s as well.
She listened to Honeymaren tell her about Northuldra. What they did. How they lived. Helping each other. Taking care of the reindeer. She guided her through the forest. Where they’d herd reindeer. How they’d find food. The best bushes to find cloudberries. She showed her the views. The hills and cliffs where they could stare into the distance. The clearings where peaceful creatures gathered. And, at the end of the day, what was perhaps the most breathtaking sunset Elsa had ever seen.
When Elsa saw the forest for the first time, it impressed her how beautiful it was.
That was when the mist still engulfed it; when they had no idea what they were walking into.
But now…looking out across the horizon….
The sky was so much brighter.
The air was easier to breathe.
The wind spirit greeted her with open arms. In front of her was an ocean of trees, and the occasional earth giant beginning to rise from its slumber for the day.
In the other direction was a sparkling yet ominous sea where her ice powers bonded with the Nokk’s. The water horse led her to Ahtohallan – a place both sacred and familiar.
This land was unlike anything Elsa had ever seen. She was completely in awe. Words could barely describe its magic.
“Wow…” she breathed softly. “Beautiful.”
“Yes…. Very….” Honeymaren’s voice faded.
It almost sounded as though she, too, were experiencing this for the first time.
Maybe she was.
How different everything must have looked under the natural light.
What the mist no longer hid from them.
What else was out there to discover?
What else was out there waiting for Honeymaren?
Elsa’s brows furrowed; why did that leave a sour feeling in her stomach?
She turned her head…. What a relief; Honeymaren was still there.
But why was she staring at Elsa rather than the glow of twilight?
She should say something.
“You…you’re very lucky to have grown up here,” Elsa managed to comment.
“Hm…?” It seemed to take Honeymaren a moment before fully accepting the compliment. “What makes you say that?”
Maybe it was the contrast between Northuldra and Arendelle.
Maybe it was how much Elsa had grown over the past few years.
Maybe it was the change in her powers, the connection to nature.
Maybe it was this side of her she never knew existed.
“I feel alive,” Elsa confessed. “I can be…. Me.”
She thought about how she felt when she first ran from Arendelle.
"I had to hide my powers my whole life, for fear they would hurt someone again. That I would hurt someone. But when my powers lashed out, when everyone saw them.... Saw me.... They were afraid. So I ran. It wasn't until I was alone on the North Mountain that I could discover the true me. There were no restrictions.... No one to hurt or scare.... My ice...nature...flowed through me. I could create anything, crystalize whatever I could think of into being. Stairways.... Chandeliers…. My gown.... A palace.... Olaf! I...."
She took in a breath.
"It was in nature that I found the real me. I could let go and follow my heart."
She exhaled.
"Then I heard the voice. The spirits."
She lifted a hand, small ice sculptures forming in her palm and reliving each interaction with the spirits.
"The way my magic could collide or fuse with each one. The forest pushed me beyond anything I knew. My magic was challenged. I was challenged. It went beyond my ice magic. I could manipulate water. It was...nothing like I could have ever known in Arendelle." Elsa paused, suddenly aware how much she had blurted out all at once.
Her heart slammed into her chest, realizing how much she shared.
Had she said too much?
She glanced at Honeymaren, meeting her deep brown eyes. The way they stared at her…into her soul…. Elsa never felt more exposed.
A soft smile came across Honeymaren’s face. And just like that, Elsa felt a wave of relief wash over her.
“Elsa, you’re the fifth spirit. You are nature. And Nature has been waiting for you to return to the forest.”
How was it that Honeymaren could say something so simple and suddenly the whole world made sense?
Elsa’s chest felt infinitely lighter.
Honeymaren reached her hand out, gently taking Elsa’s and held flat in her wide palms. They were warm. Strong. Safe. Her long, elegant fingers contrasted the callous skin from her work in the forest.
Elsa's usual instinct to shy away faded.
Something about it felt....
Almost familiar.
She brushed her free hand against one of the trees. The bark felt rough on her skin. Yet it could never compare to how coarse the castle walls were. She could sense the temperature dropping in her body, moments of her past flashing through her mind.
"I may have grown up in a castle, but it always felt more like a cage. Anything could trigger my magic. It could have been as simple as wanting to build a snowman with my sister or as natural as waking up from a nightmare. Any emotion could result in disastrous consequences. I could hurt Anna again. Hurt anyone. Conceal; don't feel. It was the only way my parents could help. Still...."
'Monster!'
She remembered the looks on peoples' faces when she was outed.
The fear.
The shock.
Had her parents ever...?
Was she wrong for simply existing?
But they wouldn't have attempted the trek to Ahtohollan. They wouldn't have gone to such lengths if they were scared.
If they didn't have that unconditional love for her.
Her fingers clenched, involuntarily tightening her grip on Honeymaren's hand. And the ice inside dissolved.
Love: the basis of her magic.
Freedom: the silent thing she craved.
She gained control and, with that, her life.
"On the North Mountain.... Here in the forest.... Inside Ahtohollan.... I never had to worry about any of that. The expectations.... The secrets.... Pantomime and pageantry.... Isolation.... Loneliness.... None of that crossed my mind. It never had to for a second. Because there, I wasn't trapped anymore. I could just.... Breathe."
“I didn’t realize….”
The sound of Honeymaren’s voice was almost like a soft blanket.
There was no indication of pity.
It was more along the lines of….
Regret.
“I mean…I remember Olaf mentioned something….”
Elsa pulled in her lips.
Right.
That.
Not at all embarrassing.
Sweet and well-meaning.
Enough to get the story across without oversharing.
And very much an Olaf thing to do.
But not embarrassing.
Who was she kidding?
Elsa scrunched her nose. “Olaf can be….”
How to capture the essence of a live, magical, talking snowman…?
“Eccentric?” Honeymaren finished.
That was one word.
Elsa attempted to hold back a giggle. “A little.”
“I…couldn’t begin to imagine living like that,” Honeymaren said. “A secret like that….” She let go of Elsa’s hand and swerved around a nearby log, taking a seat on top of it. A sudden chill flickered atop Elsa’s hands, one that she had not felt before. “It’s a lot to ask of anyone. Especially a child. That wasn’t fair to you. You should have never had to think of your powers in that way. They deserve more than that…. You deserve more than that.”
Elsa brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
What a supportive sentiment.
Not that Elsa hadn’t heard anything like that before.
Anna told her all the time how much she admired her powers.
She never looked anything short of amazed with what Elsa could do.
Even after all those years hidden away, Anna could have had so much resentment for Elsa.
But she didn’t.
She knew her.
Now here was Honeymaren.
The first person Elsa was genuinely getting to know….
Who looked at Elsa’s magic with equal parts amazement and curiosity….
Not once since she met her was there ever a gaze of confusion or disgust.
And, despite the short amount of time, absolutely no indication of distrust.
Just acceptance.
She saw Elsa as more than her powers.
Someone more than a queen.
She was just….
A person.
“I think that’s the appeal here,” Elsa admitted. She sat down next to Honeymaren on the log, leaving a bit of space between. “Knowing what I do now…. I wonder how different everything would be if I grew up here. I wonder if…. If I would have had a chance.”
That sounded so idealistic, didn’t it?
“It might not be as different as you think.”
Elsa tilted her head, watching Honeymaren’s face fall.
Oh….
Elsa overstepped, hadn’t she?
“It felt like a cage here at times, too. The mist…. The soldiers…. The raging spirits…. We’ve been trapped in a war that began before I was born. We were once a peaceful people. We lived in harmony with nature. We respected the spirits. We honored them. But when the war broke out…everything changed. They were not our enemies in the way Arendelle was, but we still feared them. And while they could do just as much damage, they didn’t understand. They were merely reacting. And we were caught in a crossfire. Arendelle…they knew what they were doing. They had control. But they chose to continue. So from a young age, I was trained to be a warrior. Even before I could walk, I was fighting.”
Honeymaren glanced up, a few loose ends slipping from beneath the comfort of her hat. There was no malice in her voice. She spoke as if it were the most obvious thing. Few emotions were conveyed in her face. Whether it was acceptance over the events that transpired and what her life had become, or the fear of letting down her guard as Elsa once – and at times, continued to – struggled with, that was unclear. Most of all, there was understanding. There were parallels in their lives. From the shackles of their homes; to growing up in fear; to leading their people; down to the way that, as Elsa’s ice glistened all around her, Honeymaren’s eyes sparkled like chocolate dipped in caramel.
The sunlight highlighted the most beautiful features in both.
“I can relate to the expectations of my people,” Honeymaren continued, “putting on a show and acting stronger than I might appear. As one of the few children left of the oldest families, there was always pressure to be the ‘next great leader’. As if I’m supposed to be better than anyone else or that I’m the one single person who can make all the difference. One wrong move and everyone will know. And I not only let them down but destroy their trust. And Northuldra…. Well, I suppose it couldn’t get much worse than it was.”
Elsa’s brows lowered.
“I didn’t mean to insinuate anything,” she apologized softly. “That was unfair to you.”
Just because she hoped things would be better for her in Northuldra did not invalidate their experiences, nor the grief they carried.
Honeymaren didn’t hesitate. “You’ve every right to feel that way. Why wouldn’t you want to feel more connected to nature when you are the epitome of it? Perhaps things could have been different.”
Her voice shifted. It conveyed more ease and light than Elsa heard all day.
Honeymaren loved her people; that much had been clear from what Elsa had seen.
But all day Honeymaren spoke of their lives there. There was this….
Her natural voice was gentle and warm, absolutely.
But the contrast between then and now….
There was just something she hadn’t heard before.
It was almost….
Happier.
“But look at where we are now.” Honeymaren gestured towards the sky, “Elsa, you freed us. You did this. You and Anna.” She lowered her hand and gave her a proud smile. “You freed all of us. Yourself included.”
Maybe….
Anna deserved far more credit; Elsa believed.
But Elsa could acknowledge that Anna was able to do that because of the steps Elsa took.
Elsa may have taken a risk by going too far, but she found out the truth.
Anna was the one able to act on it.
She did what needed to be done.
And Elsa, in turn, was able to save Arendelle.
No longer did they have to live in the past.
They could move on.
And finally begin to heal.
“We can be our full selves now, Elsa.”
Our full selves….
What was that like?
It sounded so….
“I can…”
Elsa’s voice faded, eyebrows furrowing in thought.
“We can…. Follow our hearts….”
It sounded so cliché.
Like something Anna would say.
When had she felt that?
This pounding in her chest?
Drowning out her voice?
Completely taking over?
“And go wherever nature leads us….”
She brought herself to meet Honeymaren’s gaze.
Following nature….
Those eyes….
Have they always…?
If Elsa got a closer look….
Would they still glow like honey?
Her eyes descended down Honeymaren’s face.
Her round nose.
Splattered freckles.
Full lips.
Just a little closer….
Follow our hearts.
Follow nature.
How enticing.
Those eyes….
She felt a jolt of electricity in her finger.
Something unexpected was surging through her.
From the corner of her eye, she saw her pinky touching Honeymaren’s.
Yet she couldn’t bring herself to pull away.
What was this feeling?
This….
Connection…?
“Hi there!”
Elsa jerked back, pulling her arms into her chest.
Where in the spirits did Ryder come from?
“I’ve been looking for you guys everywhere!”
“Ryder…” Honeymaren groaned.
“Hmph…make some room…thank you….”
The trance broke. Elsa swallowed a nervous laugh. This had to have been important or he wouldn’t have interrupted them–
Their conversation.
“You guys have got to try these new berries I found,” Ryder exclaimed. He picked one out of a basket that he had perched in his lap and gave a light squeeze. “I had no idea there were so many of these around, they’re probably the best berries I ever had! They’re like this sweet, squishy thing with some kind of little jam juice inside…. And with no seeds! It’s like reindeer kisses on a leaf! Who wants in? Honeymaren? Elsa? Come on, you know you wanna try some of this….”
All of that….
The interruption….
The abruptness….
The excitement….
For berries?
Elsa forced a smile, convincing herself to try a berry.
If anything, to silently encourage Ryder to shut up.
Hmm….
He may have had a point.
Yes, these berries were quite divine.
Even if they weren’t chocolate.
Or honey….

Elsa and Physical Contact
Anna has always been the more openly affectionate of the two sisters, even before the 13 years of physical isolation that would form Elsa’s appreciation of respect for her personal space.
Tumblr media
Upon a rewatch of Frozen 2 I kept a tally of the number of physical interactions that Elsa instigated throughout the movie, to compare with the number of times someone else approached her and she merely allowed it (not including the shot where Elsa held hands with Yelena and Honeymaren, or any other scene where there is no proof of who instigated the interaction).
The results were: 3 instances where both sisters approach one another simultaneously.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2 instances where Yelena approaches Elsa, once to introduce the People of the Sun and once when she assures her they can leave for the north in the morning.
9 instances instigated by Elsa (1 hug with Anna before sending her away, 6 times they held hands, 1 time holding hands with Olaf and 1 group hug at the end).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
15 instances instigated by Anna (4 times she hugged Elsa, holding her hand 4 times and touching her arm or shoulder 7 times).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And 1 mutual “siblings-in-law” hug with Kristoff which was as cute as it was awkward for everyone involved.
Tumblr media
With a total of 30 physical interactions, Elsa being an active participant in 13 of them is actually very impressive.
But it is worthwhile to note that while Elsa is the instigator behind less than half of the human interactions she experiences, she actively pursues almost every salamander, horse and reindeer interaction that she has.
Tumblr media
Once again, Elsa and Kristoff have something in common: Reindeers (and reptiles and horses) are better than people.

Prompt 4: Gorgeously Tan 😏
Chapter Six
"I wonder if Hans took part in your decision to leave so soon."
Just like the other day, when she was about to travel to the Enchanted Forest, Elsa found herself bidding a farewell. The only difference was instead of her sister and brother-in-law, it was her distant cousins and aunt, to whom she was talking.
"It's all me, actually." Elsa said, glancing at the Admiral, who was preparing Sitron for the journey, with a salamander sitting on his shoulder. She sighed, "I feel bad. I know he has plans, and I feel like I'm ruining this for us."
"Oh, he has plans alright." Honeymaren retorted, before quickly added, "But don't worry, you're not ruining anything, Elsa. You know he is willing to do anything for you, right?" She smiled, patting the blonde's upper arm. In fact, you're making it easier for him. The sentence was already on the tip of her tongue.
"Perhaps, you're right."
The Fifth Spirit focused her attention back at the Nokk, whose body was already frosted over so he could walk on the ground. Unlike their previous journey, Elsa thought that perhaps they could reach Arendelle before dinner time if they went with two horses. Fort the idea alone, she and Hans had an argument, right after she had the letter for Anna sent by the wind spirit. Eventually, she won, or more like, Hans caved into her suggestive way of persuasion.
"Your visit is too short, this time, Elsa." Ryder said, as he stood beside his sister. "Are you sure you and Hans can't stay longer?"
Turning to face the siblings, Elsa flashed her a smile. "I'm so sorry, for the sudden change of plan. I promise, we will go back here soon."
The siblings smiled ear to ear as they pulled Elsa in a group hug. Once pulling away, the blonde saw an elderly woman, with a stern face, come approaching. Hans, who was holding Sitron's rein and guiding the stallion, trailed after her. Strangely, the fire spirit was not with him.
"Do you have everything packed, Elsa?" The woman asked.
Elsa nodded. "I do, Yelena."
Yelena reached out her hands, and the former queen took them. "Safe journey."
"Thank you."
Hans, who had been eyeing their interaction, stepped in and shook Yelena's hand. "Thank you so much for the kind hospitality, once again."
"You're welcome."
"Maren, Ryder," the Admiral nodded at the siblings, "I hope to see you both soon."
Honeymared smiled knowingly. "Oh, I'm sure of it. The next time we meet, you're going to be a part of our family, right?"
Elsa raised her eyebrow in confusion, as he gulped. Hans sent the young woman a look, in which an innocent smile was what he got in return.
"I mean, you're technically our family but not quite?"
"Thank you, Honeymaren." Yelena cut in. "We don't want to hold them up from their long journey, do we?"
"Yes, sorry."
Hans helped Elsa mount on the Nokk. Her light blue short sleeved knee length dress with a pair of leggings underneath made it easier for her to sit the horse. Once he made sure that Elsa was settled, Hans mounted on Sitron. Most of their belongings were kept in the two bags that were attached to the saddle.
"I'll see you soon!" Elsa waved at her relatives, and a few villagers nearby, as she signalled the Nokk to move.
Hans mimicked her gesture, and soon, the two of them trotted down a lane that led them to the outskirts of the forest. A casual trot broke into gallops, and soon the couple found themselves racing past the four stones which stood as the gate. Being out in the wild did bring one's competitive nature out, this very much they knew.
Elsa grinned excitedly. Clearly, she was enjoying herself. Her braided hair flew behind her. From a close distance, Hans gazed at her fondly. Her laughter was like music to his ear, as they rode side by side across the woods. He wished he could freeze this moment and treasured it in his memory, for this playful side of hers was something he didn't see everyday.
The weather was hot, and the higher the sun went in the sky, the more humid it got. It was one of those days, and Hans was thankful that he decided to ditch his jacket for their journey. The white cotton shirt clung to his body, as he was drenched in sweat. He turned to see Elsa's dress—which was obviously made of icy fabric—glisten under the sunlight. Her magic was truly powerful that it didn't melt even in the intense sun.
They had been riding for almost two hours, and in such weather, the Admiral thought that they could use some rest. Sighting a small lake in a distance, Hans pulled the rein, and almost immediately, Sitron slowed down. Noticing the decreasing pace, Elsa came to ride alongside him.
"What is it?" She asked breathlessly.
"There's a lake right over there." He pointed at the foot of a small hill nearby. "We should rest for a bit, you know, to cool off and maybe have lunch?"
Elsa glanced at the lake and nodded. "Sure."
Taking a small break after the journey turned out to be a great idea. They were setting by the lake, under the shade of an oak tree, much to her relief. The Nokk was already defrosted, while Sitron was left to wander around nearby. The view would have been perfect, had it not been for the bright sunlight and the lack of clouds in the sky. At least that was what Elsa thought. "It's too sunny." Hans let out as he handed a bottle of water for the former queen.
Elsa raised a brow, taking the bottle from his grasp. "I thought the weather is perfect for you. You said so yesterday." She smirked.
Hans smiled sheepishly. "Nah, this one is too intense."
Yes, she could see it. The man standing before her was definitely drenched in sweat, heck it was as if he just got out of the water or something. Was the weather too humid? Sure. But her power could keep her cool, so she wouldn't have to worry about the constant sweating. The one thing that bothered her was the scorching heat that made her feel like she was about to melt.
"Maybe you should take off your shirt." Elsa suggested, gulping at the way the material clung to his skin. Her blue eyes slowly darted from his chest to his green eyes.
Hans, who caught her staring, obliged but not before he flashed her a smirk and said, "You really are so eager to see me topless, aren't you, Elsa?"
"Of course not!" The former queen scoffed.
Her face turned crimson, and she quickly glanced around at the scenery surrounding them. It was better than his torso anyway, or maybe not. At her reaction, Hans chuckled. Taking his shirt off, he used it as a towel and began to dry his skin. Realising that he would need to change, the Admiral walked towards his bag, which was on the ground next to Sitron. It was then did Elsa look back.
With his toned back facing her, the blonde couldn't help but stare. The faint reddish marks brought back the memory from the night before, and once again her cheeks flush. She watched as he pulled a clean white shirt out of the leather bag, then turning around. Her blue eyes widened once she noticed the burn on his exposed skin that was now visible under the sunlight.
"Hans!" Elsa gasped. She hurried towards him. "Oh no, your skin." Frowning, she ran her hands over the skin of his arms, up to his neck, before stopping to cup his face. "Let's get you away from the sun."
Sensing the former queen's worry, Hans just nodded and let her lead him to where they previously stood. She lowered herself to sit on the grass, but before she could do so, Hans quickly stopped her.
"Elsa, no!" He said, tugging her hand. "You'll ruin your dress, let me fetch my jacket for you to sit on."
"Hans," grabbing his arm, she smiled at him, "it's okay. Just sit down!"
Side by side, they sat on the grass. Feeling her cool hand still holding him, Hans tilted his head, trying to figure out her next move. "What are you doing?"
"Cooling you off." The blonde said, still focusing her attention on the task at hand. She studied the burn on his arms, fingers carefully tapped on the skin. It felt rather painful, and he flinched. Looking up, Elsa stared at him with a comforting glance. Those blue in her eyes showed him love.
"Do you trust me?"
"Yes."
Of course he did. He would put his fate onto her hands if he must. But little did he know that what she was about to do would make him think twice about that.
Painfully cold. It was the first thing that came to his mind when Elsa's hands glowed blue. Having the icy touch pressed against his hot skin felt so strange, but as seconds passed, it became more bearable and surprisingly pleasant. Her hand slowly moved, spreading a thin layer of frost up to his chest, then his neck, covering every inch of his flushed skin. Closing his eyes, he let himself sighed in contentment.
Elsa smiled in relief. Her powers could come handy, in the end. She watched his brows slowly relaxing, and moved her hand to cradle his head. As he leaned to her touch, Elsa could feel his burning skin. It must have hurt, but why didn't he say anything? For a while, they stayed like that, embraced by the serenity of nature.
"Do you want me to conjure some clouds on our way home?" She gently asked.
Home. Unknown to her, the word caught his attention.
His eyes fluttered open, before he replied, "If you don't mind."
"I don't." The blonde let go of him, resting her hands on her lap. "How are you feeling?"
"Better now, thank you." Hans smiled and leaned in to peck her lips. "Although I have a feeling that you were enjoying it, Kaere."
"As if!" Elsa rolled her eyes at his cockiness. Looking away, she tried to hide her flushing cheeks.
The Admiral chuckled as he put the clean shirt on. "You're blushing, Elsa. Is it the heat?"
"Shut up!" She scowled. Getting on her feet, Elsa made her way to the lake.
"Aww, come on!" Hans followed after her. "I was only joking." Once he caught up to her, he grabbed her arm, refraining her from walking away. Placing his fingers under her chin, he lifted her head.
"For the records, I was making sure that your skin got better." Came her defence. "Apparently not, I should've frozen you instead."
"You wouldn't dare, Kaere." The redhead smirked, moving to cup her cheeks. "If you did, you wouldn't get to see the final result."
"Of what, the sunburn?" Elsa raised an eyebrow. "Would that be wrinkles? I heard Olaf mentioned it once. Maybe some wrinkles would suit you."
He dramatically gasped. "Take that back!"
"No." This time it was her turn to smirk. "But I can be wrong." She stood on her tip toes and placed one hand at the back of his head, playing with his auburn hair. With a small tug, she pulled him in for a kiss.
Elsa knew what he meant, but she didn't want to admit it out loud. The crimson colour returned on her pale face, as a mental image formed inside her head. So much for trying to not picture the gorgeously tanned Admiral.

Air, Fire, Water, Earth, Love - Written for Elsamaren Summer 2020
@wintermoonqueen
AO3
When nature speaks, the Northuldra listen.
They know it is time to move camp. And so, they gather their tents, their clothes, and all their belongings and settle on a high point overlooking the Forest.
And they wait.
They know that forest fires are a natural part of this world. They clear the dying trees, the diseased trees. They make room for new life. Nature is not cruel. Only cruel men personify the workings of the world as cruel to suit their own cruelty. Runeard might have done so – even as he spat in nature’s face. The thing he hated then would have been his weapon and his justification – and any reminder of his hypocrisy would have been one more proof of his perverted worldview.
“Oh, you call me a hypocrite? Well, too bad. Such is the way of the world. It’s cruel, isn’t it?”
The grizzled face is preserved in the ice of memory, preserved to protect the generations to come…
Nature is not cruel. It simply is.
Honeymaren sees the salamander upon the treetops, small as a rose petal. She sees Bruni bounding from branch to branch. And everywhere he alights, light springs – fanned by the raucous howl of Gale. He streaks and sparks like lightning, with the wind’s roar the thunder at his heels – flurrying the flakes of flame so that they ignite in plumes of rich purple, of violet and magenta… all hues mingling with the tawny hues of the canopy of leaves… Crimson and magenta bleed and burn, a fire that catches fire…
The crackle of the flames rises to a roar, a roar to drown out the wind. It is as though Bruni and Gale are in delighted competition to see who can be the louder.
Honeymaren sucks in her breath. It is terribly beautiful.
In the heart of the beauty is Elsa, luminous upon the nokk. The nokk whirls, its waters glinting with flame, so that Elsa can for a moment look aloft, and then it dives downward into that blackening world.
Honeymaren sees the charred bough crack before Elsa can, blazing like a torch ready to enflame her flowing hair, and even with Yelena’s bellow in her ears, she flings herself headlong into the abyss.
“Abyss.” There is another word Runeard would have used for his purposes. What is an abyss but a chasm, another part of this world refashioned into hell by hateful tongue?
Still, Honeymaren had been headstrong. She knows well there is peril here. But it is the peril that comes from any of the great forces of nature, not a moral peril.
Through the darkness and the heat, she struggles, her own staff blackening like the falling boughs she casts aside, until she can see Elsa in the cradle of the waters, a brand upon her brow…
Her head fallen slack, hair cascading…
Honeymaren reaches her, gathers her into her arms.
Gale swirls around them. The nokk’s waters close over them both. Beyond the wheeling waters, Honeymaren perceives the glistening flames like shimmering icicles. The waters, like the flames, do not engulf them, do not drown them. They hover, suspended in the caress of Gale’s breath, hair floating, spilling, unfurling… and Honeymaren holds Elsa close as the sphere ascends, the sapphire sphere, holding something more precious than sapphire…
They settle on the edge of the encampment. The nokk slides back, takes its shape again. Gale flits lightly about Elsa’s face until her eyes flutter open.
And the first thing she sees is Honeymaren beaming over her.
Elsa’s smile is as bright as Honeymaren’s. She lets out an exultant sigh.
“You saved me…”
Yelena and the others are all approaching, but neither Elsa nor Honeymaren care. Elsa lifts her lips to Honeymaren’s and kisses her, kisses her while both of them are still half-laughing with the shy exultation of relief, and their kiss deepens as Gale plays with both their hair.
In time, Elsa sits up, keeping her hand tenderly in Honeymaren’s hand. Everyone watches the fire burn until the twilight. Then the nokk glides down and brushes the flames with its watery hooves. Then the earth giants come rumbling to turn the soil and break the earth, spreading the fallen seeds so that new life can bloom.
And, all the while, Elsa and Honeymaren hold each other close, resting their bodies against one another.
New things flourish in the splendor.

How ‘Frozen 2′ Could Have Been Better
I didn’t care that much for Frozen 2. I didn’t hate it, but there was enough stuff that brought it down, that I can’t really say that I liked it either. So, for this review, instead of just saying what I liked and disliked, I’m going to do a little rewriting with explanations of why I would have preferred my version. Hopefully, it comes off as more than bias. Obviously, SPOILERS ahead.
The beginning I did like and I wouldn’t change most of it. We see Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff getting along together. There’s a song about celebrating autumn and everything. The one change I would make would be that we show Anna going around town helping the townspeople in a way that showed she understood their needs.
Other than that, everything stays the same, including the charades scene, up until “Into the Unknown” and the elemental disaster that forces Arendelle to evacuate. It’s here that most of the diverging happens. Mainly, when it comes to going on the quest to find out what is happening, Elsa and Anna don’t argue about whether Anna should go with her but rather who goes and who stays to protect the people. Anna claims that she is more of an adventurer and more qualified to go out and find what is the problem is. Elsa claims that the problem is magical and she’s the only one who knows anything about magic, so Anna, even if she figured out what was happening, wouldn’t be able to do anything. Elsa also points out that Anna has a better grasp on what the kingdom needs than she because Anna is always among them while Elsa, though does mingle often, has still been keeping herself distant.
Eventually, it’s decided, much to Anna’s and Kristoff’s worry, that Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf will stay in Arendelle to make sure the people are safe, and Elsa and Sven would go alone. Olaf isn’t sure why they should split up, but stays with Anna nonetheless.
This would be a much better version for several reasons. First, it sets up a more convincing plot line for Anna becoming queen. As the movie is, the people of Arendelle are forced out of their homes, but almost immediately, the queen and princess leave them. Sure, it’s to fix the problem, but that still leaves them to rule themselves. Not a great look for the royalty.
Second, the real film showed Elsa getting stronger when she left her sister. I don’t know if that was intentional, but that is what happened. My version could explore the idea that their familial, sisterly bond wouldn’t break because of distance. Which is what they showed at the end anyway. My version would explore it better, not just show it.
Thirdly, it would improve Kristoff’s story. As most of the characters, he had a shtick and that’s it. There really was no character development with him (or Anna, or Olaf, but it was more obvious with him. He was only there to try and fail at his proposal and sing an ill-fitting 80′s ballad.).
It would also better Olaf’s story line. He was so annoying in this one, but here his annoying nature would have a purpose, which I’ll get to later.
Finally, it would allow for better development of characters that were just kinda pushed to the side shortly after their introduction. Mainly almost everyone caught in the enchanted forest. We got Mattias the Arendelle guard and Yelena the tribe leader with some character, but for the most part everyone else was forgettable. Even Ryder and Honeymaren were mostly forgotten by the movie after the main crew left.
Anyway, back to my revision.
So, why is Sven going with Elsa? Well, a few reasons. Anna won’t let her go without a friend going along. Olaf won’t be that helpful, and Kristoff would be more helpful to the townspeople, which leaves Sven. Also, Elsa will need help carrying everything.
This would highlight an aspect of the films that should have had more light than what they got. Despite being different species, Sven and Kristoff are brothers. So just as the sisters are being separated, so, too, the brothers. This will lead to a heart wrenching scene where Sven and Kristoff say goodbye to each other. They’ve been together since they were children, so it’s a big deal that they are separating now.
The queen and reindeer finally leave after everyone says their goodbyes.
From here on out, the movie would go back and forth from Elsa and Sven’s adventure and Anna and Kristoff’s story with some Olaf thrown in.
Elsa and Sven come up to the entrance to the forest, Elsa does her thing. As they travel, they come across the Northuldra reindeer. They’re different then what Sven is used to. More free. Even though he never really thought of himself as not free and has enjoyed his life with Kristoff, he still admires these new reindeer and their lifestyle.
That’s when they come across the Northuldra tribe. They are, like Elsa, magic users, but none use ice magic. They are greeted warmly by the tribe’s leader, Yelena. After a brief intro into who they are, they are taken care of by the siblings Ryder and Honeymaren.
Ryder, who is in charge of the reindeer, takes care of Sven and introduces him to the other reindeer. Ryder talks to the reindeer in a similar manner as Kristoff, with just as much understanding. The reindeer take on Sven as if he’s already one of their group. Sven loves it, but is sad that Kristoff isn’t there.
Elsa is seen by Honeymaren who is very much infatuated by Elsa’s ice magic. Elsa, in turn, is fascinated by Honeymaren’s wind magic. Honeymaren is also a bit of a magical scholar, and thinks she knows what Elsa is hearing.
The two of them, along with Sven, traverse the land trying to find the source of the voice.
Back in Arendelle, Anna is checking on the people. They have set up temporary shelter, with the help of the trolls, and have fires going to protect against the cold. While Anna is doing her rounds, Kristoff is resting, looking at the ring he wanted to give to Anna. Olaf asks him what he’s holding, and Kristoff tells him. Olaf wonders why he doesn’t just ask Anna to marry him, and Kristoff tells him that she’s busy and shouldn’t be distracted by their engagement when she’s trying to help the kingdom. Olaf doesn’t really understand, but ultimately leaves the decision to Kristoff. The two go and help Anna.
The next day, Anna and Kristoff realize the supplies are getting low. Anna decides to ask for help from a neighboring kingdom (possible Tangled reference maybe), but realizes that they wouldn’t get what they need soon enough. She decides to take Kristoff and go back into the city to get more supplies. They ask the people who has anything that the town could use, and more than a few offer up what they can. Olaf is told to stay with the people, but as they enter the town, they realize he followed them. He tells them he doesn’t want to lose any more friends. They realize he doesn’t think Elsa will come back and allow him to come along.
Elsa, Honeymaren, and Sven are travelling the woods, Elsa and Honeymaren learning about each other and clearly enjoying each other’s company, when they are accosted by soldiers. Honeymaren realizes that they have accidentally wondered into their territory. As they are being led to their camp, Elsa realizes they are wearing old uniforms with Arendelle’s colors.
When they reach the camp, the soldiers’ leader, Mattias, scolds them for treating the girls with disrespect. He apologizes for them, claiming they keep forgetting they aren’t fighting a war anymore. He recognizes Honeymaren and assures her she will be unharmed and will be allowed to go back to the tribe. He notes that Elsa isn’t from the tribe and asks her who she is. She tells him she is the queen of Arendelle. Many of the men laugh, saying they saw her use magic and that no one in Arendelle could use magic. However, Mattias seems to understand something and asks of her parents. She tells them who they are and that they died at sea. Mattias tells her he knew them and is saddened by their loss. This seemed to confirm her story, so he genuflects. Most other soldiers follow, but there are still those that don’t believe her.
Elsa and Mattias talk inside his tent with Honeymaren standing to the side and Sven waiting outside, glaring at the soldiers, trying to act tough in front of the horses. He tells her what happened to the city and how she found herself in the enchanted forest. He explains the situation that caused the rift between the soldiers and the tribe. He knows there was a disagreement between The king and the tribe’s leader at the time, but he didn’t know what. In a flash, the two started fighting. This caused a fight between the villagers and the soldiers. When the barrier was discovered, the soldiers set up camp to wait it out, but do to a lack of resources, they had to move farther and farther away until they found the spot they were at. After hearing about Honeymaren’s idea of what’s happening and her plan for fixing it, he lets the two go, warning them, especially Elsa, that it will be dangerous.
As Anna and her team travel through the city, they are a little creeped out by the emptiness. There are flareups from the elemental attack, which startles them, especially Olaf. Anna suggests he tell the group some of the facts he’s been learning about with all his reading. Kristoff agrees. We then get a montage of Olaf’s facts and Anna and Kristoff becoming increasingly agitated with their own plan. Anna watches Olaf while Kristoff checks the houses for supplies.
The two get attacked by fire, and are unsure what to do. As a line of fire comes at them, they dodge only for us to realize that they were standing in front of a light post. The flame runs into it knocking himself out. It turns out to be a salamander. Anna realizes all the elements haven’t been acting as randomly as she originally thought and believes they are all some kind of elemental creatures. She only sees the salamander though.
While Elsa and Honeymaren are passing through a plain, the wind starts picking up. Elsa thinks it’s Honeymaren being playful, but as the winds pick up she turns to see Honeymaren struggling to control it. Having a feeling, Elsa uses her magic to slow the wind down. Honeymaren is surprised that she could do that. She believes it was an elemental that attacked them, then describes what the elementals are.
Later, the three have to cross a river. They make a makeshift boat for the crossing. Like the wind, the water started acting up. Honeymaren is thrown overboard and is dragged in a different direction, landing on the wrong shore. Before Elsa can call out to her, Honeymaren gestures to stay quiet. She points to nearby hills and Elsa and Sven realize that they are actually rock giants. These are the Earth elementals. Honeymaren uses her magic to spell out a message with leaves. The first is “FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS” and the second is “I’LL MEET YOU THERE.” Elsa nods and continues on, worry on her face.
As Anna and her team return to the camp, Kristoff, being the dork he is, does something goofy to bring Anna’s spirits up, trips and falls. Unknown to him, the ring falls out of his pocket. Anna picks it up and immediately realizes what it is, but like Olaf, wonders why he hasn’t asked yet. She plans to confront him at camp.
Before she does, the salamander wakes up, but before he can return to the city, Anna feeds him. He immediately changes his mind, and becomes much like a pet for the princess. Kristoff is too busy passing out supplies to confront about the ring. She gets busy doing the same.
Elsa expresses her concerns with Sven. She doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do, her instincts failing her. She misses Honeymaren, which she clarifies is only as a guide and a friend, far too flustered for Sven to believe. She also misses everyone in Arendelle. She says she’s glad that Sven is with her, hesitates, then attempting to mimic Kristoff, says as Sven that he’s glad to be there too. It turns out to be more embarrassing for the two of them, and Elsa apologizes. Sven gestures his agreement anyway.
Elsa then hears the voice again and, with a little exploring, comes to the coast and sees an island. She senses a great power coming from the island. It seems to be creating storm-like waves. She uses her ice powers to try to cross, but it proves impossible. After one particularly strong push out to sea, she falls deep into the water and sees the water spirit, a horse-like being. She tries to tame it, struggling, but in the end she succeeds and rides around the stormy waters, ecstatic at her success. She manages to convince the elemental to calm the seas and she creates an ice bridge for Sven, who seems a little intimidated by the magical steed.
Kristoff is talking to a bunch of people, again too busy for Anna to talk to him, Olaf continues to bring up random facts and bouts of wisdom he read about. Given the frustration she has been having trying to talk to Kristoff, she snaps at Olaf and storms off. She finds a cave that appears to be made of ice, reminding her of Elsa, and hunkers down in it.
Elsa and Sven come across a wrecked ship that looks like the one her parents died on. The ship is empty, but a little exploring shows that it was the same ship. She finds her mother’s journal and finds out that she was originally from the Northuldra tribe. In fact, it was her that saved Elsa and Anna’s father. She tells the story of how the tribe and kingdom had made a treaty to work together with Arendelle using the magic provided by the Northuldra. However, King Runeard, Agnarr’s father and Elsa and Anna’s grandfather, wanted to control the magic. Northuldra refused and a fight broke out. The breaking of the treaty caused the barrier around the forest. Iduna (the girls’ mother) barely got Agnarr out in time, but he was so distraught about everything. The two went to the trolls for help, and they used a spell to have Agnarr to forget what exactly happened. When Iduna tried to use her magic, the people who she tried to help were afraid of her, which caused her to hide who she was.
When Elsa showed her magic, Iduna was worried she would be shunned like she was, so they kept her busy inside the palace. She was curious about Elsa using ice. After what happened with Anna, she looked deeper into the manner and discovered information about the fifth spirit. She knew Elsa must be connected somehow, and she and Agnarr went to the island to find help.
Suddenly, Honeymaren shows up, proud that she found them, and thankful for the ice bridge. Elsa rushes to her and hugs her tight. She then starts to cry and explains about her parents. Honeymaren holds Elsa and comforts her.
The three enter the island caves.
While Anna is sitting on the cave floor, Olaf comes in. He apologizes to Anna for being annoying, but Anna brushes it away, apologizing herself for snapping. She confesses that she misses Elsa and wishes she could talk to Kristoff about the ring. Olaf confesses that he knew about Kristoff’s plan and that he held off proposing to Anna to help the kingdom. She realizes that he put off his own happiness for Arendelle, which would make him an honorable king, and now can’t wait for him to ask her.
In the island caves, Elsa can feel the energy of the elementals. It starts to become overpowering. She hears the voice again, but hears other voices as well, voices that appear to be saying something. She rushes ahead, finding it hard to concentrate and finds herself alone on an odd design that references the four elements on the outside and another on the inside. There’s writing that on the wall that says only the one who can unite tribe and kingdom in love can be the fifth spirit. However, while reading it, she accidentally steps in the center of the design, and becomes frozen. This is witnessed by Honeymaren and Sven.
Honeymaren rushes to the now frozen Elsa, but can do nothing to save her. She cries over her. Elsa remains frozen. Sven and Honeymaren leave.
In the ice cave, Olaf says he’s becoming sleepy. In front of Anna, he loses his magic and turns into a normal snowman.
Honeymaren and Sven are walking down the ice bridge when they realize it’s collapsing into the sea. They rush to get to shore.
Arendelle has another attack of elements. Kristoff and the rest of the team try to keep everyone safe, but it’s actually the salamander who is able to fight off everything. Eventually the attack stops, and everyone is safe.
As the elements get more violent, Yelena realizes that the village is going to need the help of the soldiers. Before she leaves to discuss it with Mattias, he and the soldiers arrive, having come to the same conclusion, and believing they would need the magic of the village to survive. Working together, they do just that.
Kristoff finds Anna in the cave, trying to keep Olaf cold to stop him from melting. Kristoff asks why Elsa’s magic isn’t working, and the realization hits Anna hard, knocking her down. Kristoff also realizes it, and comforts Anna.
Honeymaren and Sven return to the tribe and Honeymaren tells everyone what happened to Elsa.
Kristoff is standing in front of the people of Arendelle telling them of the loss of Elsa.
The people of both mourn the loss, and their cries reach the heavens. Then another elemental attack comes.
Fires begin to rage around the village, and those that can use fire magic find their abilities to be utterly useless. When the soldiers try to escape with some of the village children, at the request of the villagers, they find that they are completely surrounded. The fires close in on the village.
While the wind blows everything every which way, it is relatively harmless, but then some of the townsfolk realize there is a huge tidal wave heading straight for them. There is no time to escape.
As the fire reaches the edge of the village, it begins to go out. It turns to steam, starting in one location and going all around. When the villagers and soldiers realize they had been saved, they celebrate, forgetting the distance that had grown between them. Honeymaren smiled when she realized there was snow falling, believing she knew who had saved them.
As the wave approached the coast of Arendelle, the people huddled together. Kristoff noticed a strange sight. A woman on horseback was riding on the water itself. He almost didn’t believe what he was seeing. He asks Anna if she was seeing what he was. She realizes immediately who is there.
Elsa uses her knew found water abilities to stop the wave and calm the seas. In her presence, the other elements calm, and the salamander gets excited.
As the town watches and cheers, Olaf waddles up to Anna and Kristoff and asks what he missed. Anna picks him up and laughs with tears in her eyes.
When Elsa reaches shore and dismounts from the water elemental, Anna tackles her. The two make up for lost time, telling each other what happened. Elsa comes to a conclusion. She realizes that Anna is really the queen that Arendelle needs.
At the Northundra village, Mattias is speaking with his soldiers. When he is done, they approach the tribe and genuflect in apology for how they treated them. Mattias knew it was King Runear who struck the first blow but was too ashamed to do anything about it. Yelena, speaking for the tribe, forgives them and wishes for the animosity to end. The two groups celebrate.
Elsa, this time with Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf, revisits the tribe. Some soldiers are returning to Arendelle, but many are staying to live in the forest with the tribe to help make up for everything, despite the villagers telling them it won’t be necessary. Sven and Kristoff have a heart to heart, with Sven deciding to stay with the tribe. Ryder walks by with some of the reindeer and talks to them like Kristoff. Kristoff asks if he sounds like that, which Sven nods yes. Kristoff thinks he sounds awesome.
Anna gets along well with Honeymaren. When she is called away, Elsa asks Anna what she thinks of Honeymaren. Anna gives Elsa a big smile and says she doesn’t think Elsa should marry someone she just met. Elsa blushes and playfully shoves Anna.
As Anna and the rest leave, Elsa, the tribe and the remaining soldiers wave them off. Anna and Kristoff are holding hands. Elsa and Honeymaren are doing the same.
Some mid/post-credit scenes could be:
Anna walking beside Kristoff then stepping back, saying he dropped something. When Kristoff turns around, Anna is on her knee with the ring. After saying yes, Anna, forgetting the ring was originally meant for her, tries to eagerly put the ring on Kristoff’s finger, painfully succeeding.
Sven getting to know the other reindeer, then seeing the girl of his dreams.
Elsa and Honeymaren riding the water elemental to go to charades with Anna and Kristoff.
Elsa and Honeymaren leaving the ice palace. Honeymaren is impressed with all of the creatures that Elsa had made. Elsa apparently reiterating that most of them was by accident. She then calls to Olaf. Cut to Olaf telling all the creatures from Frozen and the shorts that he’ll be back to tell the a story or teach them about something.
Anyway, I’ve been working on this for hours, which, since I didn’t even have the idea to do something like this today, l wasn’t planning on spending so much time on it. I actually thought I would just do a short summary of what I was thinking, but I should have known better. 🤣  Hope you like!

Our Future  Chapter 7 Bonds
Thank you thank you for all the comments.
I am sorry for the delay I kept getting distracted lol.
Please let me know how the story is going so far. Are we still interested.
Chapter 7
Bonds
Elsa covered her mouth and yawned. Honyemaren wrapped and arm around her waist as they laid together under a pile of furs
"Tired Snowflake?" She grinned. "The sun is just rising; we can probably sneak a few more minutes of sleep." Honeymaren wiggled her eye brows at her.
"Uh huh. I'm sure sleep is what you have in mind." Elsa mumbled watching Honeymaren through tired eyes.
"You're no fun." Honeymaren pouted.
"We need to leave as soon as possible." Elsa mumbled as she pressed herself closer to Honeymaren, burying her face into the crook of the brunette's neck. Honeymaren chuckled.
"Elsa. You are going to fall asleep my love." Honeymaren gently ran her fingernails down the blonde's naked back. Elsa shivered under her touch.
"I won't." Elsa sighed sitting up and rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Honeymaren frowned at the dark circles. She sat up beside her and grabbed her shirt, handing it to Elsa. "Thank you." Elsa smiled and slid the fabric over her head.
"Let's get ready. You can sleep on the way to Arendelle." Honeymaren suggested as she began to dress.
"Heyyyy. You two awake in there?" Ryder's voice rang from outside. Honeymaren glanced at Elsa who had fallen back into their shared furs.
"Barely." Honeymaren called out.
"How about decent?" Ryder asked. Elsa pulled the furs over her head.
"Barely." Elsa replied from under the furs. Ryder took it upon himself to enter the tent.
"Ryder!" Honeymaren yelled as she finished braiding her hair. He shrugged and sat beside Elsa.
"What?" He smiled innocently. "Better me then Elsa's mom." He laughed poking Elsa in the side. He felt her jump underneath the covers.
"Don't do that!" Elsa peeked out from the furs and glared at him.
"Wouldn't feel it so much if you weren't so skinny." He teased.
"Excuse me?" She sat up.
"Leave her alone Ryder. She's grumpy in the morning." Honeymaren chuckled as she walked over and planted a small kiss on Elsa's lips. The blond crossed her arms and frowned.
"Asses. Both of you." Elsa mumbled. Ryder laughed and ruffled her hair. Elsa formed a snowball in her hand and smashed it in his face.
"Oof!" Ryder fell back. "Rude."
"You're rude." Elsa mimicked and stood. Honeymaren laughed.
"Come on Ryder. Get out, we will be ready in a moment." She helped her brother up before pushing him out of the tent. Elsa tightened her tunic and began to lazily brush out her hair. Honeymaren rolled her eyes watching her yawn and took the brush from her hand.
"Hey!" Elsa protested. Honeymaren pulled her into her lap.
"Hush. I'm helping." Honeymaren began running the brush through her hair. "The way you're moving, we will never make it to Arendelle by nightfall." She saw the tips of Elsa's ears turn red as the snow queen blushed.
"I'm sorry. I usually don't move this slow in the morning." Elsa said ashamed.
"I know Snowflake." Honeymaren set the brush down.
"I didn't really fall back asleep after the nightmare." Elsa explained. Honeymaren took her lover's hair into her hands.
"I know. Keep it down?" She asked. Elsa shook her head.
"Braid please. I'm sorry I worried you." She leaned back into Honeymaren's touch.
"I was more scared then worried, I guess. I was scared that if I fell asleep, you wouldn't have anyone to wake you up if that little shit attacked you again." Honeymaren finished her braid and planted a soft kiss on her neck. "I never hit a kid before but, I'll make an exception." She pulled her into a hug.
"Let's hope it doesn't come to that." Elsa turned in Honeymaren's arms and leaned up to kiss her. Honeymaren accepted happily.
"HEY! Let's gooooo! I wanna see the castle!" Ryder poked his head through the tent. The two women broke apart and stared at him.
"Shut it Ryder! We are coming." Honeymaren yelled.
"Gross. By the way, you do know how close our tents are right?" Ryder smirked. The two Nattura's stared at each other in silence for a few seconds before the elder of the two chucked Elsa's hair brush at the other.
"Hey!" Elsa yelled at them as Ryder avoided the collision and ducked out of the tent laughing. Elsa walked over and picked up her brush. "Don't throw my things Maren." She gently hit the brunette with the brush and tossed it aside. "Especially if you are going to miss." Elsa nipped at her ear lobe causing Honeymaren to yelp in surprise. Elsa ran out of the tent giggling. Honeymaren shook her head smiling.
"What a brat." She mumbled to herself. Honeymaren left the tent and joined the other two outside. "hmmm. Feels nice out today." She stretched her arms over her head.
"Uh huh." Ryder placed his hands behind his head and beamed at the sky above him. Elsa smiled at the siblings and joined their gaze. "I can't get enough of the sky."
"All thanks to our little snow goddess." Honeymaren gave Elsa a playful shove. The blond chuckled.
"Don't forget Anna. It was mostly her." Elsa pointed out. "Oh! I have to let her know we will be arriving later tonight." Elsa made her way over to a nearby log and pulled a pen and paper from her satchel and began writing.
"What are you going to tell her?" Honeymaren asked curiously.
"That our mother is coming to visit us from an alternate reality and to make sure the castle is in top shape for her visit." Elsa mumbled. Ryder sat down on the soft grass in front of the two.
"Ooooo don't forget the demon snow child. That's important" Ryder smirked.
"Should I add that you would like more chocolate?" Elsa asked.
"Ah good idea." Ryder nodded.
"You two are ridiculous." Honeymaren laughed.
"You think I'm joking?" Elsa asked. Honeymaren rolled her eyes and snatched the paper from Elsa's hands. "Hey! What are you doing?" Elsa asked.
"Proof reading." Honeymaren said simply as she began to read the note. Elsa frowned.
"I'm perfectly fine at writing. I'm not Ryder." She pointed out.
"Hey!" Ryder yelled at her. The girls ignored him.
"Hush. Reading." Honeymaren said reading the note out loud. "Dear Anna. I hope It's not too much trouble but, I will be arriving at the castle by nightfall tonight." She looked at Elsa. "Too much trouble? Elsa that's your home." Honeymaren raised an eyebrow.
"It's polite." Elsa defended. Honeymaren shook her head and continued reading.
"There have been some strange events in the forest of late and I was hoping to talk to you about it. Nothing urgent. Also, Ryder and Honeymaren will be joining me as to represent Northuldran affairs." She looked at Elsa. "Why does everything with you have to be so formal?" She asked. Elsa blushed.
"Cause she's a nerd." Ryder plucked a blade of grass from the ground and examined it. Elsa knocked him over with her foot.
"Such a way with words little brother." Honeymaren plucked the pencil from Elsa's hands and began writing on the back of the note. Elsa leaned over her shoulder to read what she was writing. Honeymaren handed her the note and Elsa read it over out loud.
"Anna, this is Honeymaren. Your sister seems to forget that she still matters and can talk to you like a normal human being. My brother and I will be accompanying her to Arendelle because some seriously weird events have happened in the past two days and we need to discuss it in person. Also, we have someone you need to meet but please keep our visit private." She looked at Honeymaren.
"Should I mention she does not have to prepare separate rooms for you and I?" Honeymaren asked with a sly smirk. Ryder laughed.
"N-no. I think this is enough." Elsa swallowed and folded the letter neatly while blushing. "Gale!" She called. The spirit blew past Ryder causing the boy's hat to fly off.
"Hey easy!" He yelled catching his hat. The spirit whistled in delight.
"Good morning Gale. Could you please deliver this to my sister?" She held the note as the wind happily took it from Elsa's grasp and went on its way with the parchment. "I think we should get going. We still need to load the cart." Elsa suggested standing up. She took Honeymaren's hand in hers and they began to walk towards the center of camp
"Already done!" Ryder yelled proudly running to catch up with the girls. Honeymaren stopped and turned towards her brother.
"By who?" Honeymaren demanded crossing her arms and giving Ryder a questionable look.
"By me. All taken care of! Put the cart together and everything" Ryder pointed his thumb at his chest proudly.
"Are we going to make it to Arendelle?" Elsa joked.
"Alas, only Ahtohallan knows." Honeymaren threw her arms up dramatically before grabbing Elsa's and continued walking. The blond chuckled and turned to reach for Ryder.
"Let's go lillebror. You have a castle to see." She took his hand in hers. Ryder took her hand smiling.
"Right!"
"Sorry to keep you waiting Mother." Elsa said as she hopped into the back of the cart followed by Honeymaren.
"No worries Elsa." Iduna had been chatting with Yelena. She looked at the little salamander sleeping in her hands. "Time to go little one." She whispered gently waking the fire spirit. He chirped happily, gave a yawn and dismounted the cart before scurrying off into the woods.
"See, that's how you are supposed to wake him. Calmly." Ryder nudged his sister.
"How about I calmly push you off this cart." She nudged him towards the front. "You are driving first." She whispered. He raised an eyebrow. Honeymaren glanced at Elsa happily chatting with her mother. "Elsa's tired." She said.
"Sooooo, that means you have to sleep with her?" He wiggled his eyebrows. Honeymaren's face turned serious and Ryder's smile disappeared. "What's wrong Maren?" He asked.
"Last night, Elsa had a nightmare of that Olaf thing that attacked her and her mother the other day. I think it was more than that." Honeymaren explained.
"How so?" Ryder asked concerned. Honeymaren glanced at the trio talking behind them.
"Her lips turned blue Ryder. She couldn't breathe. He attacked her and I couldn't do anything." She whispered. Ryder placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey. Everything is okay right now. Elsa is fine. She's right there." He gave her a warm smile. "Go. You both take it easy I'll look after both of you." He gave her shoulder a squeeze and made his way towards the rider seat of the cart near Iduna. The mother and daughter ended their conversation and took their respected seats near the Nattura siblings.
"Everything okay?" Elsa asked. Honeymaren nodded and placed an arm around her shoulders.
"Of course!" Honeymaren smiled and handed Elsa a skin of cool water and a piece of jerky. "Eat." She ordered. Yelena walked up the side of the cart and handed Iduna a wrapped object.
"I have a feeling this dagger is suited to stay with you am I wrong?" She asked. Iduna smiled and reached down to retrieve the dagger. Iduna observed the wrap. "Velvet. Should keep Elsa from accidently touching it. Baby proof." She smirked. Elsa chocked on her drink. Honeymaren laughed and rubbed the blonde's back. Iduna hid a smile behind her hand.
"Thank you, Yelena." Iduna gave a small smile.
"Look after them." Yelena said quietly. A serious expression on her face. Iduna nodded in understanding.
"Alright! All aboard and ready to go!" Ryder yelled enthusiastically picking up the reins for the two reindeer responsible for operating the cart.
"You two." Yelena pointed to the siblings. "You represent Northuldra. DO NOT make a fool out of our tribe." Yelena gave them a death stare causing the two Natturas to straightened out of fear.
"Yes Ma'am!" They both yelled. Her gaze softened a little as she looked over at Elsa who straightened herself out of habit. "Elsa." Her name on the Elder's lips caused the fifth spirit to gulp.
"Yes?" She squeaked. Yelena sighed.
"Don't be a reckless idiot. You have comrades. Learn to depend on others before you get yourself killed." She warned. Elsa gave an awkward smile and fumble with her hands.
"Um. Thank You?" She let out a surprised yelp as Honeymaren threw herself on her wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"Like I would let her go off on her own." Honeymaren grinned. Ryder leaned back.
"Like a bitch in heat." He whispered. Elsa's face turned red as Honeymaren let out a small "woof!" in her ear.
"Your bonds are strong. It will serve you well in both combat and life." Yelena ignored her grandchildren. "Be safe. Now go!" She ordered. With final goodbyes out of the way, the small group began their journey to Arendelle.
"You should get some sleep." Honeymaren glanced at Elsa who was already resting her head on the side of the cart.
"I'm alright Honeymaren" Elsa gave her a tired smile. The brunette rolled her eyes and moved behind the blond so Elsa was seated between the other woman's legs.
"Come on. scooch in close. Relax." Honeymaren wrapped her arms around Elsa from behind and pulled her in to her chest. "I got you." She gave the girl in her arms a light squeeze. Elsa sighed in defeat and curled into Honeymaren's embrace.
"I know Maren." She whispered and shut her eyes. Honeymaren rested her chin on top of Elsa's head and watched the passing scenery. Iduna turned and glanced at the two girls behind her. She smiled.
"Your sister has a kind heart. You both do." Iduna looked at the younger Nattura beside her. Ryder gave a nervous chuckle as he ushered the reindeer to head out.
"Thanks. Elsa has defiantly made her a lot happier. Maren, she always puts on a brave face. Reality is she had been hurting for a while now. Not many can tell but, hey! I'm her brother! It's my job!" He laughed. Iduna focused her gaze from the boy to the road ahead of them.
"Yelena was right. They have a strong bond. You all do. It is something worth protecting." Iduna smiled. Ryder nodded.
"I think that's one thing we can all agree on." Ryder agreed.
Arendelle was as lively as ever. The townspeople were going about their day, the castle servants were working diligently as ever and the whole kingdom buzzed so loudly with activity that one had to really stop and listen to hear the clashing of metal from the palace courtyard.
"Again." General Mattias called to his young student who happened to be none other then Queen Anna of Arendelle. The young woman stood breathing heavy as she lifted her practice sword. Mattias held his weapon taunting the young queen to attack.
Anna didn't move. She slowly circled her mentor while taking deep, calm breaths.
"You're finally concentrating on your breathing. Good" Mattias grinned and thrusted his sword forward. Anna quickly batted it away and swung for his head. He ducked but barely.
"Either you're getting slower, or I'm getting faster." She gave him a cocky smile.
"I didn't expect you to react that quickly. You are very impressive your majesty." He grinned. Anna rolled her eyes.
"Even so, I'm happy with the result of your training." She said as she flipped the once heavy sword easily around with a few flicks of her wrist.
"Still, to be able to pick up on swordsmanship so quickly. One might say you're a prodigy." Mattias began. Anna shrugged.
"I'm nowhere close to Elsa's level." She frowned.
"In what regard?" Mattias asked.
"Well. For one. She's a genius. Talk about always thinking ahead. Did you know that she bases her magic off of geometrical shapes and architectural structures? I've had her try to explain it over and over again. I just can't keep up with her." She frowned. "Then there's the protection aspect. The way she was able to tame the spirits, to use her powers to protect herself and others from harm. How can I show her I do not need to be protected? That I can stand by her, side by side." She looked up at Mattias, searching for answers.
"Well. For starters, you are not Elsa." Mattias shrugged. "You do not have ice powers Anna. You do not have vast knowledge of geometry and architecture. But that is what defines Princess Elsa of Arendelle. The fifth spirit of Northuldra. What defines Queen Anna of Arendelle? Her strength." With out warning he came down upon her with sword. Anna batted it away but the impact forced her back.
"Her stamina." He sliced at her. Anna clenched her jaw in concentration as she avoided each strike.
"Her spirit." He yelled as Anna danced away from him and thrusted her sword towards him.
"Her fast judgment." He smirked as He ducked under Anna's attack only to retrieve a knee to the face. He fell backwards and glanced up to see Anna pointing her sword at his throat. She was breathing heavily as she sheathed her sword and held her hand out towards him.
"Most importantly, her heart." He finished as he took the Queen's hand.
"That was sappy." Anna grinned as she helped the older man up.
"Ah. But was it true?" He rubbed his jaw and winked at her. She rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"Maybe." She smirked. Mattias shrugged.
"Good enough for me. Let's call it a day." He nodded in the direction behind her. She turned around to see Kristoff watching from the balcony above. He gave her a small wave and then a thumbs up. "He's been watching you this whole time. I think I've taken you away from him long enough." He left Anna blushing as he exited the courtyard. She saw Kristoff motioning her to come up stairs. She smiled knowingly and quickly made her way to their chambers. Kristoff was waiting for her in the hall way in front of the bathing chambers. He gave her a charming smile as she approached.
"I took the liberty of making you a bath my lovely queen." He opened the door for her. Anna giggled.
"Why thank you kind sir." She stood on her toes and gave him a quick peck on the lips. She made her way inside and smiled at the smell of lavender. She walked over to the large tub that took over most of the bathing room and ran her hands through the warm water. She shivered at the sensation. She glanced over at Kristoff watching her from behind. She gave him a teasing smirk as she dropped her clothes onto the ground. "Will you join me?" She asked facing him. He looked at her up and down.
"I would like nothing more." He smiled as he began to undress. The two took their seats in the warm bath water. Kirstoff pulled her into him and began massaging the tight knots out of Anna's neck. She held her head forward and groaned. "Does it hurt?" Kristoff asked as he pushed her red hair out of the way and planted a kiss on her shoulder. She shook her head.
"No. Feels good. Didn't realize how sore I was." She mumbled. Kristoff gave a small laugh.
"You have been pushing yourself hard Anna. It only makes sense." He continued to massage her shoulders.
"I need to get stronger." Anna sighed into his touch. Kristoff rubbed his hands up and down her arms, messaging her muscles gently with his thumb. Anna rested her head on to his chest.
"Oh, you are." He grinned feeling the change in her arms. "But you need to let your body recover in between." He leaned forward and ran his hands up her legs. She hummed a response.
"mmmm AH!" Anna Jumped as he ran his hand up the inside of her thighs and over a certain sensitive area.
"You're not listening to a word I'm saying." He whispered into her ear as his hand pressed harder into Anna. The red head Arched her back at the sensation before flipping herself over to sit on Kristoff's lap. She pinned him to the side of the tub by his shoulders.
"I do listen to you." She leaned down and kissed him, pressing her chest into his. He pulled her close. Just then, the windows opened as a gust of wind blew through them. The two broke apart startled by the sudden activity. "Gale?" Anna asked as the wind blew into the water splashing the two. The couple laughed.
"No privacy." Kristoff held his head back dramatically. Anna smacked his chest playfully before drying her hands. The spirit gently placed a small piece pf paper in her hands. "Elsa?" Kristoff asked. Gale swirled through the couple's hair one more time before taking her leave.
"Yes. Apparently, some strange events have been happening in the forest. She will be arriving later tonight with Honeymaren and Ryder." Anna explained exiting the tub.
"Hey where you going?" He asked disappointed. She turned to him.
"Um WE are going to our chambers where there is a bed and I'm going to make sure the window is locked." She grinned. Kristoff was already out of the tub getting dressed.
Chapter End
I like to listen to destiny's union ost from kingdom hearts birth by sleep when writing interactions between the nattura siblings and Elsa.
I'm sorry there is a lot of confusion about Iduna. I'm trying to wait for Anna to come in the picture for the sister's to understand fully what's going on.
Sorry for the late update. On vacation 😊

Tangled in Frozen Week day 5- Life After Happily Ever After
My final submission for @showurselfelsa‘s Tangled in Frozen Week! Big thanks to her for the inspiration this week! This one’s a tear jerker, folks. Fair warning
She could feel it everywhere; her bones ached, her pace slowed, her face showing the effects of age. She knew her time was short. Anna had seen one too many funerals in her life. Elsa’s was the first, followed shortly by Kristoff’s. Freya was still there, looking much like her mother all those years ago, along with her husband Jakob and their son Alec. Markus, the crown prince, was home from his studies to help take care of his mother. The boy reminded Anna of her Kristoff, his warm brown eyes filling her heart with love. But even then, everything still ached.
It was a bright and sunny day in March, like those long past. Anna looked out of the window of her study with a kind grin on her face. In the castle courtyard, children were whooping and playing to their hearts’ content. It reminded her of the days Freya and Jakob would do the same thing with the village children all those years ago. A rapid and light knock stirred her from her memories.
“Come in,” she said weakly. Freya emerged from behind the door, dressed in a flowing green dress and hair in a copper bun. “Oh, sunflower! What brings you here?”
“Everything’s ready, mama,” Freya said, “Ready to go?”
Anna let out a small sigh, “I was born ready.” Freya let out a small chuckle as she walked over to her mother, taking her hands in hers. Anna followed Freya through the castle, taking it all in one last time. For years she had only seen this place as a prison, and her its only inmate. After the Great Thaw, the return of the Fifth Spirit, her marriage to Kristoff and the wonderful family they raised together, the castle felt like a true home. And now, Anna was leaving it once and for all.
At the stables, Jakob, Alec, and Markus were readying a small wagon, big enough to fit all five of them comfortably. Jakob helped his mother in law into the passenger’s side as he took up the reins of the white horse in the lead. As soon as they were all situated in the wagon, Jakob snapped the reins and the horse trotted forward. All throughout the streets, people applauded as the wagon passed by, saying their final goodbyes to the elderly queen. Everyone knew that once Anna went up North, she would never return.
With the industrialization of Arendelle, roads became more modern, allowing a trip to the Northuldra to take mere hours, rather than a few days. The family reached the edge of the enchanted forest by nightfall, as they were greeted by an elderly Honeymaren, now chief of the People of the Sun. In her advanced years, she came to resemble Yelena, with her once brown hair turned snowy white and her skin wrinkled from the erosion of time. Anna greeted her old friend with a warm hug.
“So, it’s finally time,” the Northuldran woman said, “The Spirits were eagerly awaiting this day, you know.”
“I bet they were,” Anna chuckled, “It’s not everyday they get someone new into their circle.”
Just then, a small purple fire danced atop one of the trees before landing on top of Markus’s head. Bruni quickly doused his fire, patting his small feet in the man’s blonde hair. Markus delicately raised his hand up to his head as Bruni leaped into his open palm. Ever since Markus was first brought here as an infant, he and Bruni shared a deep connection with one another, and the two became the best of friends. Elsa would even bring Bruni whenever she visited, allowing the two of them to cause a heap of mischief together.
“I missed you too, Bruni,” Markus said as he rubbed his finger on the salamander’s back. Bruni let out a pleased squeak as Jakob and Alec were greeted by swirling leaves all around them.
“Hi, Gale!” Alec said as she playfully puffed out his shirt. Alec loved the forest as much as his uncle, asking to go whenever the opportunity arose. There was something about magic that intrigued the boy from a young age. The same couldn’t be said about his father, Jakob. Ever since he started courting Freya, he had only met Elsa on the occasion that she visited the castle, and each time was… awkward, to say the least. It wasn’t outright mistrust, but something about her magic powers didn’t sit right with him.
“Uh, y-yes. Hello, mysterious sentient gust of wind…” Jakob said as she swirled around him.
“It’s alright, Jakob, she won’t bite you,” Honeymaren reassured, “She doesn’t even have teeth.”
Jakob nervously giggled at the Northuldran’s joke as Gale moved onto Freya and Anna.
“Where’s the Nokk?” Freya asked as she looked over to the stream.
“The North Sea, where else would he be?” Honeymaren let out an incredibly loud whistle as a reindeer approached her. It knelt down low as Honeymaren climbed on its back, “I’ll take you to him.” The five Arendellians returned to their wagon and proceeded to follow the Northuldran leader through the forests and streams until they were on the black seashores of the North Sea. From the foamy waves crashing on the shore, the Nokk appeared before them, trotting over to Anna. The queen placed a wrinkled hand on the Water Spirit’s head as she climbed out of the wagon. Off in the distance, the faint glow of Atohallan was visible, moved closer by Elsa after she took up residence there. Anna walked up to the shore, followed by her family.
“So,” Freya said as tears pricked the corners of her eyes, “I guess this is it, then…”
Anna gave her daughter a great squeeze as Freya lightly sobbed, “It’s alright, baby. I know it hurts, but remember, love is forever.”
Markus, Alec, and Jakob came over to say their goodbyes, tears flowing down their faces. Anna hugged each one of them before climbing onto the Nokk’s back. The water horse galloped across the sea towards the glacier, leaving Anna’s family a small speck on the shoreline. Upon reaching Atohallan, the Nokk dissipated into the waves, leaving Anna alone.
“Okay, Elsa,” Anna said, taking a few steps forward, “Past the symbols, down the ramp, and into the chamber, just like you said.” With that, Anna proceeded through the small entryway into the glacier.
In the years since Elsa moved up here, she had taken great lengths to turn Atohallan into a proper living space. She used her magic to build familiar sights; her old bedroom, the dining hall, she even made a replica of her study. All of this she even made accessible to Anna and her family. Elsa was Ahtohallan incarnate, so it made sense that she could do all of this. Anna slowly walked through Atohallan’s halls, down a rather large ramp, only to be greeted by a room of pure darkness. Stepping into it, vivid lights began dancing around her, taking the various shapes of the Spirits. The lights convened in the middle of the room, forming a massive snowflake on the ground. As Anna stepped towards it, the lights jumped again, this time forming into the shape of Elsa in her younger years.
“Anna!” Elsa’s spirit exclaimed, extending her arms out.
“Elsa…” Anna muttered, dashing forward before her old age forced her to casually trot.
“Not as athletic as you used to be, hm?”
“I’m old! What did you expect, you dork?” The two of them began laughing as Elsa’s spirit stepped forward, taking Anna’s hands in her own.
“How did Freya take the news?”
“There were some tears shed, but she understood. It was explaining it to Alec that was the difficult part.”
“Well, it’s not everyday someone’s grandmother becomes an honorary spirit, now is it?”
Anna grinned at her sister’s apparition, “Right as always, dear sister.”
Elsa let go of her sister’s hands as she conjured up some magic. “Ready for life after happily ever after?”
“More than ever! Now, do the magic.” Elsa shot a blast of magic up to the ceiling, surrounding Anna in a shroud of light. In a matter of seconds, Anna felt lighter as the breath left her body. Once the lights had vanished, the room lit up with various memories of events long past. Looking down at the floor, Anna was taken aback. It appeared as if she hadn’t aged since she destroyed the dam! She shot a look up to Elsa, only to be surprised yet again. Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf were standing right next to her, each with the biggest grins on their faces. Anna felt tears stream down her face as she ran to them, arms extended as they embraced each other.
Life may be short, but love is forever.

@furiosities  --  cont’d from here
elsa had been returning from a nightly patrol when she had seen aria sitting by the remnants of the fire at the center of the northuldra encampment.  hopping off the nokk as quietly as she could,  she had offered to brew a pot of tea for both of them,  as the chill of the night would be brutal without it...  for aria,  at least.
they’ve been sitting for a little while,  sharing stories about their lives,  but when the conversation had lulled,  elsa found herself asking a question.  when you look at me,  what do you see ?  she’s not dared ask it to yelena or honeymaren.  they would say that they see a blessing to their people,  an extra safeguard against the world outside their forest.  a saviour.  but aria doesn’t know the extent of what she had done for them.  she was new,  and though elsa had saved her from the wrath of an over-protective nokk,  there was still so much she had yet to share with anyone,  even anna given how limited their time together was these days.  as aria answers,  elsa finds a tinge of pink coming to her own cheeks.  compliments are still a strange thing.  when they were from the citizens of arendelle,  they were generalized.  not as personal.  but that had changed,  like everything else,  a few short months ago.
“ i sometimes wonder that myself.  if this is all some elaborate,  wonderful dream,  and then i’ll wake up back in my rooms in arendelle,  feeling just as lost as i was then. ”  but the reminders of it are everywhere,  from the warm breeze that seems to always follow her to the little salamander resting on the log next to her.  “ i’m just me,  though.  i did what i had to do to find out who i was,  and it led me here.  even if i am connected to everything in a way i never would have expected.... i’m still human.  and that is something just as remarkable as any amount of magic. ”  blue eyes dart to aria then,  hoping her meaning comes across in the fading light of the fire in front of them :  don’t sell yourself short like that.  you are just as,  if not more,  remarkable.

Prompt 2: Blue Skies and Dandelion Fuzz
Chapter Two
One of the best things about the forest is the serenity it offers, this pretty much she knew.
Standing near the river bank, Elsa had been staring at her own reflection for a while. It was still early in the morning when she sneaked out of Hans's warm embrace and out of her own hut in the village. Not that she didn't want to stay and cuddle—despite the fact that the weather was rather hot, but she would like some space for her to think, and the river bank being one of her favourite places in the Enchanted Forest could offer that.
Her mind began to wander to the event that happened the day before. Hans was indeed full of surprises when it came to wooing her, she was aware of that fact. But the trick he pulled, when he broke into a gallop instead of stopping to let her summon the Nokk, was one she didn't see coming. Nonetheless, she still found the journey quite enjoyable. Even during a few stops did she not try to summon the Nokk. The way he held her close to his chest was something she found comfort in. Eventually, they arrived in the forest when the sun went down, and Yelena was the first one to greet them, accompanied by Honeymaren. After having dinner, they stopped by the stable-like area in the village to give Sitron an extra bag of carrots. Tired from the long journey, they finally turned in and Elsa, of course, had to share her hut with Hans.
Sighing in contentment, Elsa began to stretch her muscles. It had been quite some time since the last time she was back in the forest, she almost forgot how different the place was from Arendelle. It was really quiet in the morning. There was no sound of people trading or arguing, no sound of hooves clicking against the pavement, nothing but the serenity of nature. She smiled, still looking at her own reflection, before a familiar set of eyes stared back at her. The Nokk.
The water spirit rose from the river, standing tall before her in the form of a majestic horse. Elsa looked up with one hand reaching out to gently caress the spirit. Affectionately nuzzling its face close to hers, it was as if the Nokk tried to tell her that it missed her. Elsa let out a chuckle, for she was amused by the spirit.
"I've missed you too, Nokk." She said. "Sorry about yesterday, but Hans had another plan. At least we're here now."
The horse walked around above the river, and Elsa tilted her head in confusion.
"Are you complaining, now?" She raised her eyebrow. But before she could react, she saw a flash of fire. It danced from stone to stone, before stopping beside her feet. Bending down, Elsa smiled. "Hello, little guy!"
The fire died down, and a blue salamander crawled upon her open palm. Elsa conjured a small rain of snowflakes to the creature's amusement, as it poked its tongue out to catch some fallen snowflakes.
"You like it, huh?"
Blinking and tilting its head, Bruni, the fire spirit, stared at her with something like glee. It was obvious that the fire spirit was glad to have her back. The blonde grinned, finding the gesture adorable. Looking up, she saw the Nokk staring at her intensely.
"What?"
The water horse motioned at the path towards the village.
"You want to see Hans?" She inquired. At the mention of the former prince, Bruni smiled wider. "Why, so you can try to drown him again?"
If Nokk could laugh, it would certainly roll onto its belly, Elsa was sure of that. The unspoken tension between the two brought back a memory of their first meeting. It happened shortly after Hans was released from a three hour long questioning, in which the decision sparked a brief tension between her and her sister. Anna, being the wise queen she was, decided that she found nothing harmful with his presence back in Arendelle. Hans was there to deliver an invitation under the Crown Prince of the Southern Isles' order. Elsa, refusing to accept it, mounted on the Nokk and rode across the ocean towards where his ship was in the harbour. They had a quarrel which resulted in him slipped on Elsa's ice and fell into the water. The Nokk, that was offended by Hans' accidental name calling 'water horse' did try to drown him, leaving Elsa standing on her ice.
"He is not the same man, you know." She sighed, making her way towards the majestic horse. Bruni crawled up and rested on her shoulder. "He has grown to be a better person, don't you worry about it."
Elsa smiled at that thought. It wasn't easy to get where she was, but time had given them a chance. Then, faintly, she heard some footsteps walking closer. She turned, only to see Ryder walking with a smaller reindeer.
"Morning, Elsa."
She smiled. "Ryder! I didn't see you last night. How are you holding up?"
The young man returned the smile, half shrugging sheepishly. "Well, I'm fine, I guess? I've been taking care of the reindeers." He nudged the reindeer standing beside him, who nudged back. "This one is John."
"Oh," Elsa tried to bite back a laugh, "that's quite a name for a reindeer."
"I know." Ryder brushed it off as if it was nothing, certainly not aware of Elsa's amused face. "Oh, and one more thing, Hans is looking for you."
"Sure." Elsa turned to the Nokk, who was tilting its head. "I'll be there shortly."
"Great! I'll head off to the meado now." He said. "Also, the breakfast is ready, so you better go back soon."
Nodding, she looked back. "Sure. I'll see you later, Ryder."
"See you later, Elsa." With that, he took off with the reindeer.
Once again, she was left alone with the spirits. "You're coming, Nokk?" Instead of answering, the Nokk turned around and dived into the water. "So, it's just us." Elsa turned to the excited salamander, that was now crawling onto the top of her head. "Fine, it seems like you really are excited to see Hans."
She made her way towards a familiar path that led her back to the village. Taking a deep breath, she let the clean morning breeze fill her system. She looked up to the blue sky and sighed. Nothing topped a nice breezy summer morning. It was rather warm in the forest, since summer had arrived up north, but she liked it. Unlike Anna, Elsa wasn't a huge fan of summer. She couldn't really stand the heat, and would take every opportunity to take shelter under the shade. The reason why she agreed to Hans' suggestion to ditch the carriage—other than to spend more private time together on the journey—was because of her ability to conjure some clouds above them should the weather be too sunny.
The sound of children playing around and people starting the day got louder as Elsa walked closer to the village. From afar, she spotted a familiar auburn haired Admiral sitting on the ground with two bowls of steaming food beside him. He looked far too engrossed in a conversation with a brunette sitting before him, he didn't see her coming.
Elsa saw this as an opportunity to surprise him, but before she could do such a thing, Bruni already beat her to it. The salamander hopped from her head and landed safely on the ground, before it crawled towards the Admiral. Upon the tiny element of surprise, Hans almost jumped on his seat. Bruni settled on his shoulder, causing him to turn and saw Elsa standing nearby.
"Elsa." He looked a little taken aback, before flashing her a smile. "Have you been there for a while?"
"No." Taking a seat next to him, Elsa pecked his lips shortly. "I have just arrived." She then turned to the brunette. "Morning, Maren."
"Good morning, Elsa." Honeymaren smiled. "Did you see Ryder?"
"Yes, I did." Elsa nodded, taking a bowl Hans offered her. "Thank you, Hans." Turning back to her distant cousin, she continued, "So, what were you two talking about? You both seemed engrossed."
Honeymared glanced at Hans, before replying, "Nothing that would interest you, really. Hans was asking about the crops, yeah."
Hans smiled. He didn't say anything, instead, he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. But something told Elsa that it wasn't exactly their main topic of discussion.
"Okay."
"Where were you?" Hans asked. "I woke up this morning and you were nowhere to be seen."
"I was at the river bank, talking to Nokk, before Bruni came." She smiled at the beaming salamander. "They missed you."
Hans playfully rolled his eyes. "Yeah, as if the water horse misses me. I wouldn't be surprised if the little guy here did, or maybe Gale, since it greeted me earlier before deciding to play with those kids." He gestured at the wind spirit swirling around two giggling children.
Elsa grinned in response. "What did I tell you? Nokk doesn't like it."
"What will the Nokk do anyway, try to drown me?" He raised a brow, before shrugging. "Anyway, you should finish your breakfast. Are you going to visit Ahtohallan later today?"
She shook her head no. "I'll go to Ahtohallan tomorrow."
"Great! Because I have a plan for the two of us later." Hans beamed, briefly glancing at Honeymaren, who shrugged slightly.
Elsa narrowed her eyes. "What is it?"
"That, Kaere, is for me to know," Hans poked the tip of her nose, "and for you to find out."
"Fine."
Elsa beamed. Excitement surged through her, as her mind began to think of a few possibilities. She might look as if she wasn't expecting much, but deep inside, anticipation was building up. She looked forward to whatever adventure he had in store for her.

Here is Part 6 of You Must Return Home;
- No - he replied with a giggle.
- I do - the rider cleared his throat and began to narrate. - A long time ago a woman lived who could control the snow, everyone thought she was a monster, but in reality, she was the sweetest, kind, intelligent and most beautiful person in the world. She herself freed our people, her people, from an eternal fog along with her sister, her fiancé, a reindeer and a little snowman. She was the first to tame the powerful Nokk, cross the black sea and go to Ahtohallan where, bravely, she gave her life for the truth and, thanks to her sister managed to enforce her wish, the spirits forgave her life by turning her into the fifth spirit and bridge between magic and us.
- Okay, that's giving me a lot of credit - Elsa blushed as she laughed.
- Who is told the story, you or me? - He raised his eyebrow Honeymaren jokingly.
- Okay, okay, he goes on - the blonde smiled.
- Thank you - said the rider before continuing. - From time to time, you can see that same woman riding through the black ocean going to Ahtohallan and, it is said, that every time we are in danger, he will return to save us.
"You have a lot of imagination, Maren," the guardian concluded at the end.
- It's a good story, don't you think? I would tell her.
- And something tells me that you will.
- It's something that should be told, Elsa, everyone should know that you are something extraordinary.
- Today was the day of flattery? - Elsa innocently scoffed. - You've been giving me a lot.
- Are you ... uncomfortable? I can stop if you want - Honeymaren suddenly apologized, something Elsa had never seen and feared that her little joke was badly received.
Until that moment, the Northuldra had not realized how many times he had said beautiful things to Elsa, that is, it is not like he did not want to compare her, no! I wasn't courting her! Well, yes, but not at that time! I didn't want to overwhelm her with those things now, it wasn't the moment or the time and, above all, I had no idea if her intentions would be well received, after all, I didn't   know how Arendelle was about a relationship between two people of the same sex, so that he waited better for Elsa herself to respond and, if it bothered her, she only had to stop as much as she didn't want to.
- N-No! In the least! Only, you know, they never do so many compliments to me, well, Anna does them to me, but she is my sister, I had not received compliments from someone else, I mean, yes, you give me compliments to the villagers and the occasional ambassador and ... I'm rambling and freezing everything, isn't it? - The brunette just said amused to see how the blonde was aware that, now, it was strangely snowing. - Sorry. No, I don't dislike it and ... I don't see why you should stop.
- You don't have to apologize, it's nice when you start snowing - the Northuldra smiled, removing a little of nine from the regent's shoulder, making her blush and causing the snowfall to be more voluminous, but not aggressive. - You're cute.
At those last words, Elsa could feel her heart coming out of her chest and her blush intensified more,   did Honeymaren just tell her she was cute? No, impossible, well, yes, he had told her directly, but why did he feel different? Many people had said the same words, Anna, Kristoff or even Olaf, Ryder,  Yelena, Kai and several villagers had used the same description with her, so why exactly was Honeymaren having this effect on her? His hands began to move nervously, his body tensed and the snow that had unleashed inside the lavvu had stopped as well as his thought process. At that moment he stared directly at Honeymaren and watched her, his flashing brown eyes full of energy, his warm cinnamon complexion, his freckles that decorated part of his face, his small nose, his slightly pink cheeks and his lips, sweet lips, delicate, she was beautiful and, for the first time, Elsa allowed herself to think freely that the young woman in front of her was beautiful. Yes,   I had thought about it before, but I always thought it was normal to think that your friend was beautiful, But Honeymaren was different, it was always different for her and now that they had spent time together, it was more than obvious.
Elsa wanted to approach and take Honeymaren's hand, but stopped her before she could do anything, was what she was feeling right? To begin with, he did not even know what was happening to him and although he was freer now, that did not mean that he could still fully understand his own emotions, what was this feeling that was beginning to emerge from Honeymaren? The Northuldra seemed to perceive Elsa's doubts, so in a sympathetic gesture, she stopped seeing her and looked back at the sky, which the blonde thanked in advance immediately imitating her. And so they both remained silent, just enjoying each other's company, drowning out those intense feelings they wanted to leave desperately. From Elsa's left hand,  the one that was not next to the brunette, began to leave an icy smoke that, slowly turned ice, ice that began to form on the ground a peculiar silhouette that, while the girls focused on the vast night sky, took the form of an icy heart In the end, when both girls had to retire to their respective bedrooms, neither noticed that mark except for a small salamander who, seeing him, smiled, licked one of her eyes and left the place following her friends .
Days went by and things between Honeymaren and Elsa calmed down a bit, but they didn't return to normal. Since that night, Elsa had been noticing Northuldra more than usual, so much so that she often ignored the activity she was doing to pay attention to her friend and, when she was caught doing this, a small snowfall began on her blaming her even more of that action which led the young woman with blue eyes to try to avoid any contact that was too friendly or very close with the rider, not because she did not want her close, quite the opposite, every day that passed, the desire to be together Honeymaren was growing more and more and that was starting to scare him, he had never wanted to be so close to anyone and did not know if that was normal or if his insistence of being close would bother the brunette and,
Honeymaren, on the other hand, did not press Elsa in the slightest, wanted her to take her time for things, noticed how he saw her and, in turn, also how things between them became further apart, as if both barely they knew each other and, in a way, that hurt him, the idea that his intimate approach on that night scared Elsa from eating her, but she still knew that the blonde had her own way of dealing with things and, perhaps, That was his. So, for that period of time, he preferred to follow the guardian's guideline although, sometimes, his heart betrayed him and he couldn't help taking small opportunities to touch the regent's hand or, when some hair went out of place, put it back where it was, there were very few occasions, yes,
Elsa was in her office reading some treaties while going from one side to the other, is that if the queen of Borthia was out of her mind? He wanted a complete regime of his raw material and, in addition, an enormous amount of ice on the condition that only his merchants went to his port and sold him at the same price as always, is he insane? The benefit of going to Borthia was very little, usually they used to take the long route because they could sell other products at better prices and, thus, have enough to get to Borthia and sell things at an average price. Sighing, he looked out the exhausted window, he didn't want to lose Borrhia as a business partner, but if what he wanted was an urgent shipment, he had to pay the necessary price. That's what Elsa was thinking when Honeymaren's figure came to her vision,
"No, definitely not going for a walk," Elsa thought immediately feeling her face flush.
He watched as Honeymaren said something to the reindeer before they backed out and, immediately, he could see how the Northuldra took his cane and began to make masterly movements with it. She knew that the rider was a warrior, she had seen it the first time she met her, but seeing her train for the first time was a magnificent experience. He moved with lethal grace, every movement he made with his cane was accurate and precise, but what most caught Elsa's attention was definitely the brunette's arms and abdomen, she bit her lower lip the moment Honeymaren He made a move that allowed him to see all his physique in excellent detail. The temperature in the room began to defend and the snow to fall, which Bruni enjoyed, but while outside things began to freeze,
- Your Majesty? - He heard Kai say.
Elsa, hurried, got rid of the snow in a movement of hands leaving a frustrated Bruni at her desk, went to the door and opened it.
- What's up, Kai? - Asked the blonde somewhat agitated and notoriously flushed.
- Your majesty, are you all right? You see something steals, do you have a fever? - The guardian could only recover her composure a little and clear her throat. - Yes, I'm fine, Bruni just wanted to play a little, is there anything you need from me?
- Oh, true! - The older man reacted by taking two cards from his coat. - A couple of letters have arrived today, your majesty, responses from the captains you contacted.
- Oh, excellent! - Elsa was glad. - I must go with Maren immediately, he asked me if there was news, I would also tell him.
"Of course, Miss Honeymaren is in the garden with the reindeer," Kai said, pointing out the direction the regent should follow.
- I know, I just saw her through the window - when the blonde said that, she immediately noticed how compromising it sounded, or else, she thought. - N-It's not like I was spying on her or anything, only that my window overlooks the garden.
- Yes, Anna used to call her from the window, right? - With the mention of her sister's name, the guard felt a veil of sadness perching on her heart.
- Yes, she ... used to do it - Elsa sighed tired and looked at Bruni, who saw her with worried eyes. - Come on, let's give the news to Maren.
How quickly could one go from being experienced one of the strangest, but good, feelings of his life to being depressed? Easy, you just needed to say a word, Anna. Already, with that day counted, almost two months had passed without any news from his sister, the ships were still searching, sending expeditions, but nothing had come to his hands, it was as if his little sister and friends had literally disappeared. He did not know when, but Elsa came to the gardens to run into Honeymaren who was wiping his sweat a little while drinking some water and, noticing the expression of the blue-eyed girl, did not hesitate to leave what he was doing and go directly with her.
- Is everything bine? Something happens? - Northuldra asked worried.
- Yes, I just got a little depressed, that's all - replied Elsa playing with the cards in her hands. - I received answers from one of the captains whom I contacted on the subject of the change of coordinates and I thought we could read it together, as you said to tell you about anything.
"Of course, there is a bench, we can sit there," Honeymaren said.
Both girls headed to the finely sculpted stone bench, sat down and, somewhat fearful, Elsa opened the first letter, looked at Honeymaren for support, which she received with a small gesture, took a breath and read the letter.
"Your majesty Elsa.
I am afraid to answer that, from what he tells me, the only way to have changed direction was because of bad weather, going through the coordinates he sent me is absurd, the trip would take longer, in addition to running the risk of tides.
I regret not being more helpful and I hope that Queen Anna will arrive safely at home.
Captain Kent.”
- And good? - Honeymaren was interested.
- Nothing - Elsa snorted. - He says he would only change the coordinates for bad weather.
- And there was no bad weather at that time - the brunette growled frustrated. - Maybe there is luck with the other card?
The blonde took the envelope and read the contents of it, but it was practically the same answer, the only way she had changed direction was because of bad weather or, in an unlikely case, pirates, but it was more than known that area I was free of these.
- Nothing - Elsa complained again. - More of the same.
- Lightning - Honeymaren breathed air just as frustrated as if accompanying. - But the answers of others are still missing, right?
- Yes, those should arrive next week.
- Something is something, I guess, how about the expeditions?
- Without news, the only good thing is that there have been no signs of ship sinking - Elsa shrugged her shoulders involuntarily placing her head on the rider's shoulder. - I don't know what else to do, Maren, I can't go looking for her and leave the kingdom alone, but I can't send more men to a search that demanding.
- Calm down, everything will be OK.
- I hope so.
- You'll see that yes.
Both stayed like that for a while until Kai decided to intervene by startling both girls.
- Sorry to interrupt, but a ship has arrived in port, your majesty - informed the butler in a somber tone. - And it's not from Arendelle or some allied nation. We already have a couple of guards guarding the ship.
-   Who could it be like to move guards there? - Elsa asked strangely.
- It's from Weselton.
