pithy words are not my strongsuit so. idk how best to articulate it but it is. particularly strange to watch as the democrats campaign by talking about "democracy" and "not tyrany". when doing the fascisms themselves. like yall are hyping up this project 2025 thing and getting all whipped up about that , meanwhile i'm watching the dems do actual fascisms and actual anti-democracy things right now in front of all our eyes. bizarre. i dont know the word for it. unsettling. makes me feel like one of those guys who calls everything 1984. feels very "leopards eating peoples faces". which like obviously i feel for the people who have been proud dems who are just now discovering what the party is. like obviously that sucks deeply. kinda do wish they'd listened to folks warning them for a long time but .. alas. better late than never!!!

yknow what I really don't get? people going "ugh ewwwww Hazbin Hotel suckkks is so bad, like, these character designs are 2000s deviantart edgelord crap, the artist clearly hasnt matured since middle school, the backgrounds are chaotic, the humor is cheap and rude and overly sexual, the plot is basic and nonsensical at the same time, overall its a total visual assault on the eyes, absolute 2014 theatre kid sparkledog rainbow vomit. cringe."

this is like if I watched "friends" and went "fuck this, everyone is normal AND horrible at the same time, the laughs are forced and too much of the humor relies on relationship stuff, miscommunication and secondhand embarrassment. also I hate sweaters"

its one thing to criticize a piece of media for bad writing, plot holes, issues with the writers/producers (and ik Vivzie isnt exactly clean in that regard), thematic issues, or faults in the art and production that result from laziness, uncreative or derivative design, poor understanding of how to make *insert form of media here* in general

...but these ppl are literally calling out Hazbin Hotel for the aesthetic that it is CLEARLY, CONSCIOULSY TRYING TO ACHIEVE, just because they personally don't like said (admittedly eye-burning, chaotic and cringe, again THIS IS ON PURPOSE) aesthetic

man I think looking back a lot of the times I've had trouble keeping friends is bc I was parroting popular opinions about their interests. "Doesn't Star Wars suck?" Etc. it didn't take me long to figure out that people attach to things for some of the most personal reasons. and it's mean. and nasty. to pick at them. and you won't keep friends by acting that way.

exception being Disney & Harry Potter adults. I will not Rain on Their Parade directly but I cannot refrain from expressing distaste or explaining the Evils.
