you are the kindness and earnestness that the crew has a tender spot for, and all of them will take up arms against a sea of trouble if said trouble would do so much as look at you. you might have been an orphan, and so you long for the found family that is the crew on the ship. all of this is new to you--the tireless sun, the seasickness, the towering waves, but you are made of tougher stuff than you look. even if you’re afraid, you draw up your courage and face the fears, and you do not give up after you’ve made mistakes. the harsh sea life will not harden you, and you will remind the crew that even pirates could use some hope every now and then

It's finally time for the Jones Boys to be knighted. How exciting!

Good job, Mechi! What a nice ceremony that was!

So good, in fact, that Mechi is now "athletic"! I'm not sure how that comes from a knighthood ceremony—and I had very little idea of how to convey it in a drawing—but, uh... congrats, I suppose?

Next up is Kwahu! Yay!

Kwahu did not get a new trait, but that's alright. I already imagine that "his movements are smooth and graceful" without needing the athletic trait.

Mechi doesn't need to be Kwahu's heir; he's already a knight. We're going to call The Empire and politely ask if Ivy can be Kwahu's heir instead, even if it might annoy Mechi a bit. He'll get over it.

you know, maybe one of the reasons Law has resonated with me as a character lately is because he ate the Ope-Ope no Mi/Op-Op Fruit and my Midwestern American ass recognizes that sacred word and just clings to it because he is exactly the type of guy who would wear a hoodie with shorts and exudes not only big I Might Have Had A Rebellious Phase But I’m A Professional Now If You Would Just Listen to Me I am So Tired energy but also what is Flevance but a Rust Belt town decimated by toxic mining and a government filled with just enough people who want to sweep it under the rug and look the other way and this doesn’t even get into headcanons about Flevance being the Low Countries/more Dutch than what most people think of when they read “German” bc it caters to my personal whims or Detroit parallels because I will make Detroit parallels about every fictional center of wealth and prosperity and culture that gets fucking abandoned and treated like trash (especially by those around it) and no one can stop me

had to explain to my new psychiatrist that the reason i have an unlocked unregistered loaded firearm in my home is not at all for suicidal reasons and i was just raised in missouri
