when you have to start twisting the plot to accommodate a character and it's turning out to be really hard, that's when they should be killed off. sometimes, it's just not meant to be, and hey, you can just toss the character to a pile somewhere and dig them out later.

but yeah, if you're curious about my character creation process, you're actually kinda witnessing it in real time right now. usually it goes something like -- plot point comes to mind that i really like, spend a few days workshopping a setting (scifi, western low fantasy, eastern low fantasy, magic or no magic, etc), and the characters just kind of fall into place from there.

i kind of cheat when it comes to making characters though, since majority of them come from the same schematics and i just let them marinade in my brain for a while to get some more concrete personalities and backstories out of them (see the very distinct brand of trash that all come from proto-vezian). then it's probably another few weeks of rough plotting to trim down or expand the cast, settle on backstories, and attach roles to everyone. it's all very vibes-based, to be honest.

Man all I wanted was some cute fanart of best kwami Plagg and ended up seeing a salt post about how he is a horrible monster for extincting the dinosaurs. The post at least acknowledged that Plagg feels remorse over it, but then doubles down on accusations that he doesn’t because of a stupid comment he made in Kwamis Choice about how Chloe should go the way of the dinosaurs, and we all KNOW that was written by Astruc to bash on Chloe and we shouldn’t take that seriously. And you know what! Plagg killing the dinosaurs was ultimately a good thing in the long run because it created optimal conditions for mammals to rise up humanity to evolve! Life on earth in the MLB universe would be fundamentally different in a scale that I can’t even comprehend if he didn’t kill the dinosaurs. (Also the post said that the only animals to survive the extinction were like chicken things and water creatures which is hilarious because mammals also survived and that’s literally why we have humanity) Thank you for coming to my TED talk

And yeah, I saw that post, but I just ignored it. OP is entitled to their opinion, but I just disagree with them on that. One thing to remember is that Plagg killing all the dinosaurs is a joke. It's supposed to be funny. Maybe it's in poor taste, like Marinette's stalking or something, but ultimately, it's a joke and I am not going to take it seriously.

But if you really want to justify it, Plagg isn't a human who operates on human standards of morality, he's practically a god. He is literally destruction itself. And like you said, maybe dinosaurs needed to be destroyed for the "creation" of humanity, for the sake of balance or something? Idk. Like you said, it was kind of beneficial for us in the long run, as cold as that sounds.

And like, all the Kwamis do shit with their powers. Tikki created a giant galette that could have destroyed the world in Dearest Family, and the only reason it didn't happen is because Plagg and Adrien were there. And Trixx was apparently responsible for the Lochness Monster? I forget.

Kwami's Choice is completely OOC for Plagg. Whatever he may have done with his powers in the past, as of the present timeline, he's actually quite responsible with them. He's shown that he knows how to adapt to the morality of the time he's in, at least a little. It makes absolutely no sense for who he is as a character to offer to Cataclysm someone. I've better explained my thoughts on how bad Plagg's characterization in Kwami's choice was in this post, so feel free to check that out.

Conceptualizing Upgraded Powers for Every Miraculous

What’s up BITCHES🗣️‼️

…i’m sorry guys, I shouldn’t have called you bitches.

The concept of evolving powers in Miraculous Ladybug has raised some…interesting questions. When Ladybug basically said “fuck you, I do what I want” and made herself a new power, it confused a lot of us. And when Shadowmoth did the same goddamn thing, we were just kind of tired of it. The unspecific and wishy washy circumstances around upgrading a Miraculous user’s powers has inspired many people in the fanbase to make up their own headcanons for it, improving on the power that we were given and also conceptualizing upgrades for other users. 

Well, in this post, I’m gonna do the same thing….

For every goddamn Miraculous we see in this show

Am I crazy? Yes. Do I even have the time to do all of this? No.  Am I going to obsess over this for days on end instead of doing what I actually need to do? Absolutely.

To explain what exactly I’m doing here, instead of looking into the animals each Miraculous is based on, I’m purely going to draw concepts from the, well, concept the kwami embodies. That means I’m going to find a new power for Creation, Destruction, Transmission, Emotion, Illusion, Protection, Subjection (fuck Action, all my homies hate Action), Evolution, Intuition, Migration, Derision, Perfection, Jubilation, Inflatio-nah I’m just fuckin’ with you, Exaltation, Multiplication, Pretension, Passion, Determination, and Adoration.

Okay so maybe I lied about every Miraculous being in here since I’m ignoring the Eagle, but I’d rather wait until more Miraculouses from the NA Box get explored. Some of these are going to be easier than others, and some of these are going to be the bane of my existence, lookin’ at you Derision (which is oddly fitting). I’m gonna try my hardest not to make these upgrades OP. Now, without further ado, let’s do this.

🐞LADYBUG MIRACULOUS🐞

“Oh, Ladybug already got an upgra-” Well that upgrade was ASS, so we’re giving her a better one. When thinking of a new power for the Ladybug Miraculous, it was pretty damn difficult. I mean, Creation is a concept that’s so broad yet so specific. You have so many options yet no options at the same time. I was caught in a bit of a strange conundrum. So, in my desperate time of need, I turned to a friend that’s been helping me with shit like this since I first started writing.  My all-knowing buddy,

🪽𝒮𝓊𝓅𝓮𝓇𝓅𝓸𝓌𝓮𝓇 𝒲𝒾𝓀𝒾🪽

When I went to this site, I did what anyone would do and simply searched up Creation to see what I found. And I found a lot, a lot that could become too busted too fast. I had a few ideas at first, my first idea after going to this page was a literal goddamn domain expansion, that being Ladybug projecting her will in the form of a pocket dimension where her imagination reigns supreme. My second idea was something I would’ve called Power Plant, basically Ladybug’s spots glow and she can generate blasts of pure Big Bang energy, which again, is busted. 

Eventually, I found something that interested me and that’s Transmutation. Y’know, Alchemy from FMA? Yeah, that. It’s basically transforming one thing into another thing of equal value. And that, my friends, falls under Creation. Because you’re basically breaking something and using the parts to create something new. So, I’m guessing you can see where I’m going with this, right?

Ladybug’s new upgraded power is Overhaul, an ability that allows her to transform an inanimate object into an object of equal weight and density. So she can take a vase and transform it into an ax, but that ax is gonna be the same weight and density of the vase…and it’s gonna be made out of glass.

…holy shit, I just realized that’s an MHA reference, I legit didn’t even mean tha-

Another upgrade that I came up with thanks to the help of with the help of my dear friend,

I am of the opinion that Chat Noir got absolutely shitted out of a new power in Season 5. You’re telling me you had Adrien go through all that bullshit that season and you couldn’t have at least given him some new razzle-dazzle to pay it off? Boosh.

Anyway, this one was actually fairly easier since Destruction isn’t really that broad a concept. I mean, you’re destroying shit, how complicated can it be? So, with Creation, I wanted to think about how Ladybug was creating something, but with Destruction, I want to focus on what Chat Noir’s destroying.

I went through some ideas before I came to a conclusion, Chat Noir being able to destroy someone’s soul to incapacitate them, him being able to destroy someone’s mental boundaries and what not. For the longest time I had the idea in my head that Chat Noir could maybe destroy an aspect of something, like maybe he could just destroy the color in an object and turn it completely gray. However, I feel that’s a bit more…situational. But, I eventually had a definitive idea. You know what falls under Destruction? Division.

“Wha-how does Division fall under Destruction?” You might ask, and that’s simple, division is destroying the bond that keeps multiple things whole, forcefully separating them. For example, if you have a lobster and you tear off it’s claw you have to destroy the shell to get to the meat inside. You’re dividing the shell from the meat by destroying the shell. (I’m fully aware that you didn’t need that explanation but I just watched the episode of Young Sheldon where George taught Missy how to crack a lobster and I’m still not over it)

So, Chat Noir’s new power is Hissection, it allows him to forcefully separate one thing from another by basically touching it and pulling that bitch out. He could use it on an akuma’s object and literally rip the akuma out of it without damaging the object. Or, if he’s getting really morbid, he could rip someone’s skeletal structure out of their body and just watch them fall down like ol jelly bones. He obviously wouldn’t do that, but still.

I have the perfect scenario for this power to develop too, Monarch finds out that Adrien is Chat Noir and tries to use the ring to get him to come to his side since Adrien’s a sentimonster, only for Chat Noir to use this power to separate himself from the Peacock Miraculous and wedding rings, granting himself his own sentience. Isn’t that just raw as hell?

🦋BUTTERFLY MIRACULOUS🦋

I’m gonna call Gabriel Hawkmoth for this section because I refuse to keep up with his new names. Hawk Moth has already got a kind-of upgrade with “Megakumas”. However, Megakumas are just boosh. They’re basically ‘akumas but stronger’. So I’ll be coming up with a new one just how I did with Ladybug. 

Now, the butterfly is connected to the concept of Transmission which I was having a hard time with because my stupid ass brain only thought of Transmission as “broadcasting TV/telekinetic signals”. That’s the reason I changed it to “Transformation” in one of my fics. However, one quick trip to le dictionary corrected me. Now I know that Transmission is the act of transferring something from one place to another. THAT’S why he can do that fuckin’ butterfly head thing…well my version doesn’t make sense anymore.

I really only have one idea for this and I find it perfect. Y’know how akumas transmit powers to akumatized victims right? Well, what if the butterfly user could transmit themselves?

Hawkmoth’s new power is Swarm Shadow, it allows him to break his corporeal form into a swarm of butterflies, allowing him to blast across large distances in a reduced timeframe and re-materialize. It’s basically teleportation with extra steps. 

I always thought him being able to do that in Volpina was cool as hell and I wished canon came up with a way to incorporate that someday…they didn’t.

🦚PEACOCK MIRACULOUS🦚

This one is gonna be a bit shorter because I pretty much got a great idea the moment I thought about it for more than three seconds. The Peacock is the Miraculous of Emotion, right? Well, what better upgrade would there be than, well, controlling emotions?

Argos’ new power is Vehementor, it allows him to subtly or blatantly influence a person’s emotions, he can push positive or negative emotions onto someone, or soften certain emotions to calm someone down. Someone with a stronger will could of course resist this. 

I used Argos instead of Mayura because we clearly aren’t seeing her again for a while. 

🦊FOX MIRACULOUS🦊

Now THIS one is harder. The Fox Miraculous is one of Illusion, which is a power that’s so straight-forward that it’s hard to think of anything to add to it without dipping into other domains. At one point, I thought of giving Rena a memory-based power, maybe the ability to take people’s memories and project them in the form of illusions, but that seemed like it was a bit situational in nature.

Eventually, I did come up with something. Imagine an illusion so advanced that it covered you at all times and that you could alter at will. You can make yourself invisible by forcing the illusion to mimic your surroundings, you could make it look like you’re teleporting by disappearing and reappearing behind people in puffs of orange smoke, you could make yourself look like someone else, you could make someone think you’re a shapeshifter, pretty much anything! 

So, Rena Rouge’s new power is Outfox, it allows her to manifest an illusion that’s connected to her brain and can react to her brain activity, twisting, shaping, and altering itself to whatever Rena can think of. She’ll definitely need to focus to keep pulling this off, or else the illusion would go haywire and out of her control, but it could still be pretty damn cool.

🐢TURTLE MIRACULOUS🐢

The Turtle Miraculous is one of Protection, which sounds like it would be difficult to come up for something with. I always felt that when coming up with new powers for the Turtle, other fan-creators did some that just…didn’t feel right to me. They just didn’t focus on the ‘protection’ part enough for me to feel like it made sense. My first idea for this was to give Carapace the ability to shape his shields into other stuff, and while I do think that would make for a good sub-power, it wouldn’t really fit for what I’m going for.

But then, I came up with something I like. Do you remember Metal Mario? It’s a powerup from, well, Mario, that gave him a thin coating of metal that enhanced his durability and strength. I’m going to give Nino something similar to that.

Carapace’s new power is Fortify, it allows him to create a forcefield that’s shaped around his body, allowing him to run around tanking attacks left and right. It also increases his physical strength, however, a downside is that he experiences a slight decrease in speed and agility. 

(Yes, I gave him and Rena similar powers intentionally, DJWifi is one of my favorite relationships, let me be)

🐝BEE MIRACULOUS🐝

Subjection! 

“Wait, isn’t it Action no-” SUBJECTION!

Subjection is an easy one. Subjection basically means ‘bringing something under your control’. So what better power for this one than mind control?

Queen Bee’s new upgraded power is Hive Mind, it allows her to stick someone with her trompo and bring them under her control, forcing them to do whatever she wants.

Notice how I said ‘Queen Bee’? Don’t worry Vesperia fans, I’m one of you, and I’m not leaving her out. In fact, I’m giving her a completely separate power upgrade. While Chloe would have no problem mind controlling someone, Zoe would likely find the concept…icky.  So, we’ll have to find something new for her. At first I wanted to give her the ability to control plants, because one, putting plants under subjection and two, bee, but that felt unoriginal. So, what did I go with? Something also unoriginal. Because what’s better than enacting subjection? Reversing it.

Vesperia’s new upgraded power is Layoff, it allows her to reverse low-level subjection, if someone else has you mind controlled, Vesperia can reverse that shit easy. Yes, it’s basically Bee Balm from Scarlet Lady (zoe please don’t sue me).

…ugh, fine, if I did consider the concept of Action, then the power would be Comb-Up, it would allow the user to drain the momentum from an object with the tip of the trompo to such a point that the object just completely freezes mid-air.

🐰RABBIT MIRACULOUS🐰

We’ve got the main 7 out of the way, let’s get onto the time-hopping Miraculous itself, the Miraculous of Evolution. I have mixed feelings on the linking of Evolution to the Time Miraculous because, like, I get it…but like, it doesn’t match all that well. I mean, Duration was right there if you really wanted something time-related. It doesn’t make that much more sense than Evolution, but it’s closer.

Now, at first, I focused a little too much on the time aspect, I thought of stealing time from someone else to slow them down DC style, I thought of enhancing her own time to speed herself up, I even thought of a power that’s actually going to the next Miraculous on the chopping block. But, I eventually got back to Evolution, and thought about what it means to evolve. And I came up with something pretty cool. What if Bunnyx could evolve objects?

Bunnyx’s new power is Rush Job, it allows her to harness a small percentage of chronokinetic energies and apply it to an object to evolve it, bringing it to a higher level. For example, you got a car? Do you want it to fly? BOOM! Rush Job! Now your car has jets and wings….I feel like I haven’t explained it well enough.

The weakness of this one would be, I guess, when it evolves it looses one of it’s best features from when it pre-evolved. Like, going back to the car, yeah it has jets now but there’s not a steering wheel anymore, just a steering mechanism that’s hella hard to get down. Also it wears off fast.

🐍SNAKE MIRACULOUS🐍

Ah, the Miraculous of the Snake, or as I like to call it, the one that basically lets you go “nuh-uh”. Intuition is a simple concept to get down, basically you’re super aware and have good instincts. This is also another wibbly wobbly time Miraculous, it and the Rabbit take turns making each other insignificant. This one was actually pretty easy for me, as I already had this power in mind for the snake for months now. 

Viperion’s new power is Scale Factor, it allows him to peer through time to view the possible outcomes of each action they take, and adjust for certain happenings. He would have to focus hard, but I feel that shouldn’t be hard for Luka.

🐴HORSE MIRACULOUS🐴

Bit of a detour, but the Horse Miraculous’ power doesn’t make sense to me, mostly because it’s a huge wasted opportunity. The concept is Migration, and that’s basically moving from one direction to another. And what are horses known for? Running! So the obvious conclusion for the Horse’s power is PORTALS! I’m gonna give the Horse the power I think it should’ve had in the first place.

Pegasus’ new power is Steed, it allows him to sprint at incredible speeds, becoming a light green blur (same color as the portals). 

🐒MONKEY MIRACULOUS🐒

This one…this one was the death of me. Because what the fuck is ‘Derision’? I didn’t even know that was a word before Thomas decided to pull it out of his ass and slap it onto the table. Apparently is means, “contemptuous ridicule or mockery”. So basically, magic bullying. Now, how do I find another application of this? Credit where credit’s due, Uproar is kinda perfect for the concept of Derision. Basically making your opponent the laughing stock by disrupting their power. After a few hours, I finally got it. What if your power made you the laughing stock.

What if you’re the jester, the joker, the one who made people laugh, whether they like it or not?

Roi Singe’s new power is Quip King, it allows him to tell a joke so bad, a joke so cringe, a joke so unbelievably garbage, that anyone who hears it laughs at him. Forcibly. And they can’t stop. It’s basically Joker Venom but WAY less lethal. Can’t exactly threaten the city while your ribs are quaking.

🐲DRAGON MIRACULOUS🐲 

Okay, Derision was the death of me, this buried me underground. This time, I knew what Perfection was, I just don’t know how that connects to the animal or the power. I mean, Ryuko has weather powers. The fuck does that have to do with Perfection? I mean, if you wanted her to have weather powers that bad, Precipitation was right there. 

Anyways, finding something to do with Perfection that still looped in with it’s main power was very hard…so I just didn't. I straight up forgot about the ‘Storm Dragon’ powers and focused completely on Perfection. Perfection means, well, making things perfect, so I thought of something like a stat booster, making the user a living unit of strength, speed, durability, and stamina. I realized that, one, that would be way too busted, and two, it would overshadow the turtle’s new power. I eventually came up with something different though.

Ryuko’s new power is Omni-Tongue, it allows her to understand and speak all existing languages, including ancient or fictional languages. It’s kind of situational but honestly, the Dragon is already one of the most busted of the Chinese Box, it doesn’t need another super flashy power. 

🐷PIG MIRACULOUS🐷

Ah yes, the Miraculous quite literally designed for Rose. It’s the Miraculous of Jubilation, meaning the feeling of great happiness or triumph. I’m sure you’re thinking “Zen Master Charles, how the hell are you gonna find another application of this.” Quiet, dear reader, as I know how to do this. I didn’t really have any other ideas for this one since the answer was pretty clear cut.

Pigella’s new power is Peace Out, it overloads whoever she hits with her tambourine with so much positive emotion that they can’t do anything else but frolic around and enjoy the world’s beauty.

Okay so Elation means ‘a feeling of great joy or pride’. Now, how the hell does that factor into a super punch? I have no idea, but I do have an idea of what it’s upgraded power could be. See, when you’re super happy, you’re super energetic, like you’re bouncing around and shit. And you would need a lot of stamina for that, so…

Purple Tigress’ new power is Resolver, it allows her to grant herself nigh-infinite stamina and a slight increase in speed and agility. 

🐁MOUSE MIRACULOUS🐁

Eezy dubs.

Polymouse’s new power is Bootleg, it allows her to produce copies of physical objects, the only downside being that the copies will be of lower quality, y’know, like a bootleg version.

🐓ROOSTER MIRACULOUS🐓

Ah, pretension, a claim or assertion of a claim to something. It actually makes sense paired with the power of the Miraculous itself, good job Thomas! Of course the power itself is busted beyond all accounts and makes the rest of the show seem like it could’ve been solved if at least one character had an IQ above room temperature. It’s hard to come up with something new for Pretension because it’s such a…specific term.

My first idea was a power that allowed the user to create a specific rule that had to be followed within a certain area, but that sounded busted. Too busted, even by the standards of the power it already has. However, once I wrote this off, I had an idea. How about, instead of creating rules, the Rooster hero could break them?

So, Rooster Bold’s new power is Rebel Roost, it allows him to make himself exempt from any rule or law by writing it with his feather pen dagger. Seems pretty useless at first right? WRONG! Laws of gravity? Fuck you, I can fly. Rules of Nature? Hey, mouse! You can kill that cat that’s been hunting you now! Yes, it’s broken, but so is it’s other power.

🐐GOAT MIRACULOUS🐐

Another eezy dub, y’know how passion basically means you’re dedicated towards something and have strong emotions towards it? And when it’s at it’s peak, nothing can keep you away from it?

Caprikid’s new power is Scapegoat, it allows him to become intangible, meaning that he can walk and/or float through physical objects, but he can’t touch them until he deactivates the power.

🐂OX MIRACULOUS🐂

The Ox Miraculous of Determination, in the simplest terms, is literally a big blue ‘nuh uh’ button. Surprisingly, it also makes sense paired with the power Astruc came up with! I’m tired as hell so I’m not gonna explain my thought process here.

Minataurox’s new power is Oxenfree, it allows him to supply his allies with boosts to their willpower. It’s lazy, I know, idc. (God, I’m falling off.)

🐕DOG MIRACULOUS🐕

THE FINAL ONE, YEEEEES

The Miraculous of the Dog holds the concept of Adoration, makes sense with the animal, not so much the power. Now, how the hell am I supposed to find another application of Adoration…actually it’s quite easy. It’s the same thing as the Horse, where all I have to do is give it the power I think it should’ve had in the first place. 

Miss Hound’s new power is Track Star, it allows her to target a specific person and track them down wherever they go.

Killer Queen

Killer Queen is definitely my fav stand! It's such a fun stand, and it's awesome watching it in action in the anime. It's absolutely terrifying tbh (besides Cream), mostly because of the bomb ability it has. I often find myself rewatching the Sheer Heart Attack episode too! The threat that Killer Queen and Kira imposed throughout DiU was just👌🏽 Araki did so well with them. Not to mention uumm ✨KITTY✨, also plant cat🌷🐱, and the way Kira says "BITES ZA DUSTO!!" Really tickles me. Yeah but Killer Queen is a incredibly intimidating stand to face and I absolutely love it.

Star Platinum

Bro it's just badass enough said. Literally the perfect stand. Like it's primary attack is to just punch the shit out of you and it just works lmao stopping time is pretty neat too ig. Both Star Platinum and Jotaro were actually my favorite before I watched DiU and VA. but I think that goes for most ppl

Sticky Fingers

Sticky Fingers is such an efficient stand and Bruno was honestly very creative/resourceful using it's ability. You wouldn't think the ability to place zippers on things would be that versatile but I was proven wrong and found myself impressed with it's speed, power, and how it was utilized in general. <3 Both it's abilities and design are such a good reflection of Bruno's character, but honestly I feel that way about all the stands in part 5

Echoes

First off it's abilities are really unique, my fav out of the acts is Echoes Act 2 and its ability to put sound in writing and whatever sound is written is produced when activated. Pretty cool! I enjoyed Echoes dynamic with Koichi and how it reflected his growth/progression throughout the season. Plus stands with different acts are cool in their own right. But overall I just enjoy that it really brought Koichi's character full circle.

Golden Experience/GER

I love love love the design of Golden Experience, it's so clean and very aesthetically pleasing. The ability to create life btw is a bit op but reflects Giorno's character really well, and GER IS completely op too, though sentient stands are really interesting to me in general. Also I sometimes think about how both Josuke and Giorno's primary abilities with the whole healing verses creation thing are a bit similar. Because Giorno can heal as well? And Ik that some ppl say that Golden Experience is just a better Crazy Diamond. But I'm not opening that can of worms lol. Anyway I wish we got to see more of Requiem but eh..

dank, this is what i like to hear! (also it's good that you were able to handle the tl;dr bc this post will probs be a lil tl;dr too lol)

i'll try to go over this point by point.

#1: don't use the same usernames on every single platform.

this is one of great contention nowadays because people like to have "brand recognition" of sorts. they like to be discoverable. they like their friends (and in some cases, fans) be able to find their posts across multiple platforms. this is all well and good if you are cultivating a specific type of experience. for example, if you're a content creator, it makes total sense.

most people online are not content creators, though. if you have no desire to be a content creator, try segmenting your experiences. that is to say, have ONE account with a username for your personal/IRL posts, and ONE account for your fandom shitposts. make them completely different. don't use the same user icon or whatever. don't use any PII (personal identifying information) on your fandom shitpost account.

even IF you would like to be a content creator, i would still suggest segmenting your experiences. if you manage to strike it big in a content creation space, think of this: eventually, you'll get crazy stalker fans. you may get people in your DMs asking invasive shit. prevent this from happening: have a contingency plan in place. this means, again, having SEPARATE usernames for your different purposes. is this annoying? sure. but it keeps you safe.

to illustrate what i mean, let's say you do want to be a content creator. your creator name is "mcguffinthecreator" (that's what it is now, you have to use this, it's the rules). you can have your content creator twitter, tumblr, facebook, insta, tiktok, whatever else have the username "mcguffinthecreator" for brand recognition purposes. for your personal shit, make up something totally different for each one that cannot be connected back to the mcguffin personality OR to each other. "anonsworld" for one. "ilikepencils" for another. so on and so forth.

#2: don't reuse passwords

this is a basic one you may have heard and most people shrug it off because it gets difficult to remember multiple passwords when every fuCKIN WEBSITE these days bullies you into creating an account.

but you don't have to.

use firefox and it'll generate passwords for you and save them to the browser. and if you ever need to copy and paste the passwords into another browser for whatever reason, you can do that by going to about:logins in the browser bar on firefox. and, if you make a firefox account (yeah i know aNOTHER ACCOUNT), any instance of firefox that you log into will port those passwords over, even on mobile devices. this is also a function on edge and chrome, but i highly recommend firefox over those two browsers for security reasons.

#3: don't use your real name on any account that you want to do fandom bullshit in

(or really in general, but i know that's not gonna happen for most people)

if you really wanna be low-key, don't give your real name to anyone online that you don't know IRL. yes, it is 100% possible to make real, genuine friendships with people online. i've known @sapphire-weapon for like, 15+ years and we've yet to meet in-person. i know her real name, she knows mine. but we never use them, anyway. we're just "ash n sirea" in any online shit we get up to, and it'll stay that way forever.

that might sound strange to a lot of people, but it protects both of us to do that. if we just started using each other's real names in tumblr posts, for example, that opens us both up to weirdos tryna find us. it sounds paranoid and it probably is, but we both grew up during a time when the internet was just getting big. both of us remember a time before having a personal computer in the house or everyone having internet at home or everyone having a cellphone. and we were both taught to never give out your real name to anyone online, ever.

this protects us from shit like... yknow... people calling our places of employment to tell our bosses that we're horrible people, actually. which is a thing that people do like it's normal nowadays since it's so fuckin easy to find information on more normal people. you say one wrong thing and it's easy for someone who's got a chafed enough bhole to find your deets and start harassing you IRL. keeping your PII close to the chest is the smart thing to do if you plan on getting involved in any online discussions these days.

#4: don't post any identifying pics on your fandom bullshit accounts

this means selfies, pics of your house, pics of places around your house, so on and so forth. again, this sounds restrictive, but it's extremely easy to find where people live that way AND it opens you up to AI photo manip bullshit. if you must post a pic, be sure to strip its EXIF data before posting it. you can find steps on how to do that here. and just... don't post selfies publicly. at all. even if you strip the EXIF data before posting, that doesn't prevent people from taking your selfie and running it through either a photoshop manip or an AI tool. share selfies only with people you absolutely, 100% trust. this means locking down instagram accounts where you want to post selfies, for example. this goes back to having multiple accounts for different purposes.

#5: inform your friends that, if they know your fandom bs accounts, to NOT tag you in posts that they think you would like

this is a huge hole that people often overlook. let's say you have some IRL friends that are also into fandom. let's say you've been doing your due diligence and keeping your experiences segmented. you've got different usernames, don't use your IRL info on the fandom account, you're all good.

you share these accounts with your IRL fandom friends because maybe you post insightful stuff, funny fandom memes, or maybe you're an artist. you figure "they're my friends, they're not gonna purposefully expose me."

problem is, a lot of people these days don't really "get" the concept of keeping your info on lock online. you can't assume that they'll look at a situation the same way you do.

so let's say your friend finds a funny meme for the fandom you're in. they know you have a personal account and a fandom account. they figure "well, i'll tag the fandom account because this is fandom-related." so they do.

here's the problem: let's say you've pissed off someone who's hate-following you. they see someone's tagged you on a post. maybe the friend even uses your real name rather than your handle because why would they use your handle? they know you IRL. to the friend, it's harmless and makes sense to use the name they've always known you by.

but to the hate-follower, they've just been handed a juicy dish on a silver platter. now they can use a few tricks to find your actual personal account. for the sake of clarity, let's use twitter as an example. let's also assume that on your IRL account, you're using your real name. and let's ALSO assume that your friend doesn't lock down their account because most people really don't.

they go to the friend's account who tagged you.

they look in their following list.

they look for your name.

they find the account.

they see your personal deets just sittin there, ripe for the picking.

they can now harass you and stalk you with more precision than if they just had your fandom account handle.

for that reason, you have to make a call here. do you share your fandom account with your IRL friends that you trust to not fuck you over on purpose? or do you keep that private from even them to protect yourself from unintentional exposure? depending on your friend group, some may be more diligent than others when it come to keeping your accounts properly segmented. you can tell your friends that have the account to never tag you in anything and to just private message it to you. that's one option. the other is to just never reveal that you have a fandom account and interact with fandom on a very, VERY surface level degree on your IRL account. the last is to just never post anything on your personal IRL account and/or lock it to friends only.

#5: "commit to the bit." don't break "character" if you meet someone in fandom who seems really cool

now, i say "character" as if you'd be acting differently, but what i really mean is your handle and username set-up for your fandom bs account. if you meet someone really cool, don't get starstruck and answer any question they pose to you like "what area are you in?" or "is [handle] your actual name?" because these are dangerous questions to answer when you don't know what the intent is. again, it sounds paranoid, but assume everyone you meet online could potentially fuck you over in the end. it took me a very long time to tell my closest online friends my actual name and location. i've met some of them IRL and i've sent letters/packages to others. it's not unheard of, but it's not something i do lightly. if you are REALLY keen on becoming pen pals with someone, set up a PO box.

this also protects you from common scams like pig butchering or revenge porn. online dating is more ubiquitous than ever and who wouldn't want a bf or gf who's into fandom like you are? problem is that you can open yourself up to trouble if you meet someone who's really really interested in your personal life when you're on your fandom bs account. don't give up your IRL account for anyone who asks, just because you're into them, romantically or otherwise. most people who are looking to scam or troll don't tend to pull a long game. this means being pals with someone for an extended period of time before opening up any further.

#6: don't give away personal troubles to anyone in fandom

this means shit beyond like "my mom is being an asshole" and going into providing detailed backgrounds on your tumultuous family relations. this gives people ammunition. if you're in DM with someone and it comes up in conversation, don't go into detail. treat it like a work relationship: coworkers don't need to know your personal life and neither do fandom friends.

and that's what i got for now. there's a lot to go into regarding PII opsec. there's a subreddit called /r/privacy that i'd recommend perusing for more ideas on how to protect yourself online. they tend to go into things like online tracking, advertising, VPNs, and so on, but they also have discussions about just keeping yourself as anonymous as possible online in relation to your IRL self.

The reason I used warnings is because I mainly thought of creations not for the faint of heart constantly using trigger warnings when it doesn't really apply. My ask came as a result of watching someone use a "trigger warning" talking about some movies containing mentions and scenes of rape and finding that it's overused and doesn't even cover what a trigger actually is. Obvs using big warning for some of the personal issue things or really tame shit would be dumb; sex scenes, mild kinks, even some blood or injury. "Will portray" "will show scenes of" etc have been labels I've seen already used. Even "may contain scenes some viewers might find disturbing" already exists, and makes more sense for these things. Even a "click to see NSFW" is good enough. My focus was completely on the times when people use specifically "trigger warning" as a general actual "warning" label, for the more graphic, grizzly, explicit materials. Because they're warning the viewers/readers of what's happening once you enter. It's kinda the difference to me between a simple "spoiler" blur over some sexy smut art, or a "This pic contains dick", because I might accidentally flash someone, and a warning that if I click a link I might be shown a graphic liveleak video of someone's head being crushed, or some graphic surgery injuries. You obviously need to figure out yourself when a simple "be aware this content contains X" vs "Yeah this is an actual warning this shit might end up being actually fuck you up."

As far as I know, labeling things as "this might fuck you up" makes it more likely that people will have strong negative reactions vs. the same material warned for in a more neutral way.

Yeah so uh holy shit. That was definitely a launch that happened. It's such a weird program; extreme by most metrics that it's kinda hard to think about. The main thing that appears to be catching people up here is RUD vs explosion. I mean, RUD been used for a while now and is sort of a tongue in cheek joke, but I could understand why this being the first exposure could catch people.

There's also this post which is cosmically funny. All the complaining about Blue Origin no orbit has come back to bite the SpaceX stans because jokes on them; people are now confusing the two and saying SpaceX no orbit lol. Cheers @greetings-inferiors you gave us a good laugh.

But that's tumblrs reaction, what's mine? Idk, I laughed a fair bit. Schedules were always shot to hell, so I'm not too fussed in that regard. The rocket itself doesn't matter at this stage; it's the OLM damage, which I suppose separates this other launch failures. I still think H3 failure really reduced my expectations of first launches outcomes. If a country that's been doing launches for 30 years can't successfully launch a fairly conservative evolution of an existing rocket; then all bets are off for everyone else.

It's always nice to have a reset of expectations for the entire program so that means when things happen they can be appreciated rather than trodden over. (cough cough Falcon 9)

Launch wise, it was incredibly scuffed. 3 engines out from the get go which resulted in an extended burn at OLM to gain sufficient TTW resulting in that fat crater. The engines out also resulted in a slide that is scuffed and scary for a vehicle of Starship size. But the flight continued. Then more engines out, an hydraulic power unit explosion, some more engines, and oh yeah the tiles. (I don't care about the tiles). And yet the vehicle still flew. It's showed robustness in the scuffed of situations of it's own creation. When you roll around with B9 and the reliability enhancements, it actually is fairly interesting. They took engine explosions or at least flame outs in their stride, but you know; don't have them in the first place am I right.

The question is now when next flight and that really determines the value of this one. Because it's always the next product™. But presumably the Raptor ops and propellant management will be good outcomes. Also not to use HPU, but that was already a learned lesson. This failure just feels unusual because of the scale I suppose.* (I mean it's automatically notable because Musk rocket failure, but that's beside the point). Like we've had RS-1, ZQ-2, Terran 1, LauncherOne, H3 and Vega failures recently; what's different. Well, entirely different classes. But still, nowhere near media circuses. *+the damage to the ground infrastructure.

To summarize, the vehicles job was to gain experience on the performance of the many subsystems that make up this vehicle. Like autogenous pressurization on a vehicle of this scale as it handles many Raptors (failures) is no small feat. The next 2 Starships have given up heat shields and payloads, because they're also now exclusively marked as flight test vehicles as well. There was a lot of things that went wrong, but it still gave a fair bit of insight into the vehicle for SpaceX. And if that was just it; it would be fine because the next vehicle would be rolling to pad in a couple months. But this happened.

And that means a fair bit of work in repairing, upgrading and potential legal issues to grind out, which will cause delays in its own right. This is what pushes the needle in the direction of not worth it. But shit has happened and will continue to happen; the program will just move on.

I made a comment in my earlier post about my frustrations with how people talk about the magic metaphors (ex. the “willow’s addiction muddles the gay metaphor” hellhole argument i Loathe) about how the way Wicca/paganism is talk about in btvs and how I don’t vibe on it because it has “Silver RavenWolf Energy” and I absolutely KNOW that reference will fly over many heads so here’s a lil bit about that.

First off I’ll say I’m not a wiccan myself. I learned about it’s basics years ago when I first got into actually learning about Occultish Stuff. I’m out here in the rökkatru end of things fondly remembering spongecakegate and slacking off on all my research and practice related anything. I also haven’t actively researched magic/witchcraft in years. I just know enough about Wicca and witchcraft to be able to look at it in the media and be like “lol yeah that’s Not It”.

My first pet peeve with the BTVS version of Wicca is they call themselves “A wicca” and not just “a wiccan” like normal human beings. Maybe this was a thing in the 90s, idk. I just know that in the present it makes me wanna chew on glass.

Now we get a bit more into the meat of the Bullshit:

Silver RavenWolf is a lady who writes books about Wicca and witchcraft and like, babies first paganism shit. All of it is FULL of misinformation and some very hot very bad takes. She’s the kind of person who’ll take about the Salem witch trials like real witches were burned and like it wasn’t a perfect form of religious fanaticism, sociopolitical moves for advancement inside the community, personal grudges and old fashion paranoia that got a lot of regular ass people killed. Like the puritans hung a few quakers for not renouncing their faith or living the colony. Quakers. Also NO ONE WAS BURNED IN ANY US WITCH HUNT. IT WASN’T EVEN A THING IN ENGLAND. They only burnt catholics and traitors far as I remember lol.

However, everything about her shitty awful bad books of bad takes is very Of The Times in the 90s -- as in, I’m not shocked that BTVS Wicca has a Silver RavenWolf flavor to it because she was the main bitch of “mainstream” Wicca at the time it was being made. Like honestly the magic/pagan/wicca group being all new age white feminism, granola lesbian energy and misinformation bout like... multiple religions is pretty on point, not just for a 90s occult college group but a current one and just how it was all viewed at the time of creation.

It just bugs me because there’s so many other people out there even in the 90s-00s that could’ve been referenced and Silver RavenWolf is just.... So Cursed. The takes..... So Bad......

BTVS Wicca never for even a MOMENT talks about the Horned God/Male Deity of Wicca which is um-- he’s kinda of Big Deal. Wicca is a duotheistic religion focused on the Triple Goddess and the Horned God but the show literally never mentions him and is all woo woo co-op goddess worship vibes. Cursed.

Witchcraft =/= Wicca. WITCHCRAFT =/= WICCA. THEY’RE TWO DIFFERENT THNIGS. ONE A FORM OF MAGIC PRACTICE/”CRAFT” AND THE OTHER IS A RELIGION. Willow can actually BE A WITCH and be JEWISH. Judaism even has it’s own history and legacy of mysticism/magic/occultism that Willow could tap into. Not really sad to not see it in the show mostly bc I know it’d be a lot of non-jews writing this and no one wants to see how they’d whiff it but fanfic writers... 👀

Willow shouldn’t be pissed about how the Witch Stereotype is disrespectful to witches and more pissed about how it’s antisemitic (the nose thing alone....)

So, to get myself started, might as well send some of the stuff I've made, with a few of my own insights. A sort of "director's commentary" type of thing.

Here we have our first image, which is also the banner for this blog.

If you're wondering what it is, either I'm someone who likes too much '60s and '70s rock, or you're just uncultured. It's Abbey Road, if you couldn't tell. (Side fact: there is also a hex colour (#A79F92) named Abbey Road. Doesn't look like the asphalt on the original album cover, though.)

This is also the area where I should probably mention something: I have Splatoon OCs! This image doesn't show all of them, mainly because I wanted accuracy to the original album cover. Some of this builds into lore that I've had floating in my brain for about 3 months now (Oldest OC by creation dates is 1yr 3mo), but that's not especially important.

So, who's who? On the far right, we have Hachi, in the position of John. Behind her is Mendouna, taking up stock in Ringo's position. Trailing behind, without his normal footwear, is my main OC, Kara, who is filling in Paul's position, rather nicely. And finally, guarding the rear, is Jishin, standing in George's position.

Now, aside from their names being Japanese (colour, confidence, troublesome and Eight, going in order of creation), these four are the first OCs I've properly made, and for the most part, they fill canon roles...

Except for Kara. He's the author avatar for this story. Or, more accurately, stories. I have something of the order of... 8 or 9 months' worth of lore, dating back to January 23rd, 2022. Of course, my earliest archive of it goes back to February 26th, 2022, because I accumulated it into what I call "gigaposts". It's just summaries.

Anyway, who fills in what role? We know Kara's the author avatar, but what about everyone else? Jishin is Agent 3, or for everyone who's played Splatoon 3, Captain 3. Mendouna is Agent 4, and Hachi is Agent 8. There's 2 others, but I'll leave them out of the discussion for now. As it stands, there's a) no art of one, and b) no lore of the other.

Important thing to note: I hate the overpowered character idea as much as the people who will probably read this, so I've done it clean and simple, as a rule for myself: no OP characters. Each character can have a talent, but no OP stuff should even look like it's appearing. Bad shit happens when you do OP characters, such as your story getting boring.

Why's that important to note? Because "author avatar" usually translates to "golden child" as I've seen it. Which is why I've done a different angle for Kara. But, obviously, you'd have to read the lore.

Remember above when I mentioned that Kara was the main OC? Yeah, I meant it. I use him for "crossover" arts, mainly, but he is, as it stands, my main OC. This is him being chased by a horde of Giga Monty, and this...

...is him on First World Bank. These 2 arts were made before Splatoon 3's models dropped, just in case you're wondering why there's a sharp decline in quality between the Abbey Road art and these two.

Another important thing to address, in relevance to the above: I use GMod for art. I also can't do art for things that lack GMod-ported models because that's not how GMod works. I have made art to request before, but that's mainly been for friends who also have Splatoon OCs. I also have to choose what map I use. Again, the Steam Workshop for GMod is the final arbiter for what I use. I can't use what doesn't exist.

Yeah, uh, I m working on it

Bit of writers block, no big deal, Im working through it, as you do. I got a bit of art to post and I just wanted to make a hundred percent sure everyone is aware;

I Do Not Support JK Rowling. I think she is an egotistical ignorant harpy, who hurts people who just wants to live there lives, because she would rather have her ego stroked then be an actual good person. She is, ironically enough and to use an in canon example, the most Dolores Umbridge person I have ever seen in my entire life, a fascist woman who wants to be seen as perfect and will do it by oppressings those she perceives as not welcome in her world, making up facts so ignorant and lazy people will take her side, and then playing the victim when anyone even whispers a rational argument against her.

She will use any support her series are given, monetary or not, as a go ahead that she is in the right on her views, even though being a good, or in her case, passible artist, does not mean you are in the right or are in any way a good person, see Pablo Picasso, HP Lovecraft, Stanley Kubrick to express some will known and much more influential artists who were also very trash people.

With that in mind, what I write is not in support of her. I write fanfiction because It is how I work through things, analytical, critical and evolutionary. I want to write in a way that satirizes, hopefully improves and also addresses social issues the original series has completely butchered or ignored. I may or may not succeed, I can only do so much, but I want to try and do my best anyway, because I want to be better. While also being humorous. I say that because In my mind, the best and only way Joan should look at my work is not as support, because it's not, but In Spite of her. I hopes she seethes in hatred against me and my creation, as I plot to strip apart her poorly made worldbuilding, magic system, plot, characters and conflicts, and try to rework them into something at least a fraction of a bit better.

TLDR; FUCK JK Rowling that transphobic, antisemetic, fatphobic, racist and homobhophobic piece of shit. I hate the way she co ops legitimate identities in hopes people will praise her while ultimately being a lazy, ignorant, narcssistic, hateful person and while I do not condone vengeance, I would happily sip my tea and smile if she had to face even a fraction of the pain she has caused in the world with her ignorance and arrogance. She is also not even a good writer, and only got away with it because we were all children who were taken advantage of because we simple could not know better.
