Reiner x gn reader Christmas drabble

(hinted at a reader with a difficult christmas / family situation ; reader and reiner are friends but mutually pining) no beta wie die like real men

Whether you wanted to admit it or not, ever since you had met Reiner Christmas turned from something dreaded to something deeply cherished.

Not only Christmas, no, it starts way before that. Ever since Reiner found out how much you enjoy Christmas and everything about it he wouldn't let you live it down. He's helping you put fairy lights up in your whole apartment, invites you to try all the special edition christmas flavoured coffee in your local coffeeshop and even helps you brainstorm gift ideas for your family members.

And that's exactly what happened this year when the middle of November rolled around. Reiner pressed play on his christmas playlist and the sound of Frank Sinatra asking for snow filled your otherwise silent kitchen.

"Already? Halloween was like last week..." you said with a half chuckle. "We have no time to lose" replied Reiner in faux earnestness. "Hmm, i guess you're right about that one", your words were accompanied by the heating of water and the dropping of two tea bags into separate mugs. You slid one cup of apple cinnamon tea over the counter towards Reiner, who was too engrossed in something on his phone to even notice.

Curiosity got the better of you and you asked him "Whatcha writing?". "Wouldn't you like to know, weather boy", Reiner gave you the snug answer you were expecting but you had your ways of making him cave in. You did your best kicked puppy impression which made Reiner turn his phone towards you with a slightly annoyed "Alright, alright..."

Upon further inspection of Reiners phone you saw that he wrote a list of all the winter activities that he wanted to do with you. You skimmed over most of it, your heart skipping a beat when you read all of those points. Making fruit punch, decorating the apartments, going iceskating, making christmas cookies, the list just went on and on. You couldn't help but smile from ear to ear as you saw the upcoming month unfurl before your eyes.

Reiner ran a tight ship and went about his ideas in a meticulous way. Luckily you were also able to integrate a few wishes of your own, like having the privilege of choosing which cookies you guys would make, or getting Reiner to promise you that he'll watch 'A very Minty christmas' with you.

A month passed and you found yourself shopping for christmas presents on a prominent shopping street in Liberio. The constant temperature changes between the freezing blue outdoors and burning hot stores as well as the constant evaluating whether something would make for a good present or not had drained you.

You whined a complaint to Reiner who seemed to be equally as tired and suggested that you just call it a day. Half an hour later you two were collapsing onto his couch surrounded by the bags of gifts you had bought. While Reiner got up and ordered food for you two, you flicked through the channels before settling on a random D-List Hallmark movie wannabe. Your eyes couldn't help but travel along Reiners back as he was pacing around his apartment while ordering the food.

You couldn't stop wondering how Reiner had gone from someone who was 'not particularly interested in all that holiday kitsch' (his words not yours) to someone who was wearing matching christmas sweaters with you. Even though you couldn't explain it, you were eternally grateful for the switch in interests.

If someone had met you in that fateful winter before you had made Reiners acquaintance and tried to explain that you'd be rating peppermint coffee and placing cheesy reindeer headbands on this beefcake of a man you would've laughed in their faces. But now you wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

You and Reiner spent the following weeks similarly: shopping for christmas cards, drinking hot cocoa and listening to Last Christmas until your braincells were fried. You honestly could not think of a better way to spend the christmas time.

Christmas was just around the corner and you were packing your bags to visit your family. You tried to push the feeling of dread to the side and make the best of the holidays but that was proving to be more difficult than expected. At least you had some more time left in Liberio.

Your last day rolled around and you were lazing on Reiners couch with him, three mugs into the fruit punch he had brewed up and your legs thrown over his lap. Feeling confident you bit the bullet and asked him "Since when do you like christmas so much?"

Reiner flushed and looked at you as if he was contemplating whether to answer, eventually he did "Well it started when we met, you told me how much you liked all that stuff, guess i just wanted to see for myself", he eyed you as he chewed on his lip before adding "I'm glad i did".

Somehow you had the feeling there was something he wasn't telling you, but you really didn't want to think back on the first Christmas after you met him so you just let it go.

Later you were hiding candy canes around Reiners apartment and slipping his gift into his closet, just as your tradition required. You sneaked out of his bedroom and pretended to have been to the toilet instead, trying to mask how tipsy the punch made you.

Reiner was in the kitchen making a second batch and you joined him, standing in his doorframe all giggly and giddy. The punch was really hitting and you started to wonder how much rum Reiner really put in there.

Something seemed different about his kitchen but you weren't sure what. He handed you a cup with a raised eyebrow. You raised an eyebrow in return, not understanding what he was insinuating. He then flicked his head towards the ceiling and when you looked up you saw that you were standing beneath a mistletoe.

The wind was knocked out of your chest and you couldn't help but focus on how little space there was between the two of you. How big he really was, how his sweater stretched around his biceps, how rosy his cheeks were and how insanely beautiful he was in general.

Normally you were really good at hiding your crush, but now?!? Standing under a mistletoe while being tipsy? Standing in front of him while he gazes at you so intensely you'd think his eyes could burn a hole through you? Being tipsy was really your worst enemy because it made you believe that love would always win and that nothing will have consequences. So not only were you fighting the embarrassment, no you were fighting the irrational part of your brain that wanted to devour him right now as well. God did you just tell him that you like him because you were standing under there for so long?? GOD-

Before your thoughts could run any more laps you felt Reiners lips on yours, impossibly soft and slightly minty - just how you had imagined.

Due to your utter shock your eyes and mouth stayed open and Reiner quickly pulled away starting to pour out apologies "Oh my god I am so sorry I must've read that wrong oh my god-"

Still unable to speak you decided that it was your turn to shut him up. You let all your restraint go as you smashed your lips against his, reaching your hand out to cup his face and neck.

All those thoughts and worries were zapped out of your head as Reiner slipped his tongue into your mouth. You started making out as if your life depended on it, melting into each other and reaching a higher state of consciousness.

Reiners face in your hands and hungry kisses - there was no better Christmas present on earth <3

Day 10 of [ELITISIM’S 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS ADVENT EXTRAVAGANZA!]] is Much, MUCH needed love to the fine gentlemen of TS3. So funny story, this was this primarily supposed to be a cold weather menswear pack that I was supposed to post back in like late-September/EARLY October, it was literally called the equinox collection... but then the fall equinox passed, and I didn't know what the rename it, and I didn't feel like remaking the graphics...so now it's Christmas gifts!

OUTLANDER 3x03 | 7x14

Caspian has been updated as well as the update of Cliff and Coast(Coast has only been in unposted doodles before this, apologies for that). The three of them are now the Teal brothers, Cliff being the oldest and a half brother to the others while Caspian is the youngest, this can be seen through their sizes and amount of scales on their torsos.

Coast works for Akore, their uncle, along with Caspian, the both of them are working off their debt to him for the enchantments to have legs, but unlike Caspian who got the enchantment for Hana, his daughter, Coast is just doing it for his general interest in surface life after hearing about it from Caspian. Cliff on the other hand is a bit more distant from his brothers and lives further down the coast from Arcane Roost, possibly in Weeping Willow Strand but I'm not sure yet. He works as a fishermen and port guide due to his sea talents, primarily to provide, but also so he can save up for enchantments as well so he can better try and take care of his son Phinn.

My mind has wandered once again but I'm happy to have worked on designs and story again after so long, even if it's just these snippets.
