Predictions of the tragedy
Aidairo left this information in the air ~
Tumblr media
Can't understand? let me help you
"Hey do you know if hanako kun seal come off, the entire world will fall in disrray..... * that was close-!!* *heart thumping*
This reminds me of this
Tumblr media
and this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hanako's seal + threat of Hanako being very dangerous and difficult to control + future of the school is being destroyed + Sakura wants everything to be destroyed and uses Hanako and Yashiro to do so + Hanako is sometimes represented as a "dinosaur" or a giant monster + Hanako's own repulsion towards himself + Hanako is seen with this dark shadow on his chest that sometimes spreads across his body = Will everything be destroyed by Hanako?
I add even more The fear that Hanako seems to feel for himself if he loses the seal. He's the first one I've seen that likes being sealed, for some reason.
The ghost boy can transform into a highly destructive and out of control monster that can destroy everything in sight unless someone restrains him.
So let's think a little, what if Tsukasa is removing all the Yorishiros so that the passages between the supernatural and the world of the living are freer, and this gives strength to this "God", the more seals removed, the stronger he becomes.
What if he is doing this to release the creature living in Hanako, so that he becomes stronger and can fulfill his wish, but this could lead to a problematic future.
Yashiro has a kind of purifying power, but we saw what happened when she did that to Tsukasa.
Tumblr media
What if Yashiro is the one who has to stop Hanako? Considering that she will only die if she takes out all the yorishiros then…
If that God grants a wish to whoever takes out all the yorishiros, which are seals, it means that this is very related to him and his power, the seals can keep that "God" contained. Knowing that the creature lives inside Tsukasa, and that it probably also lives inside Hanako, would make him stronger and he would take control again.
If all the seals are removed, including Hanako's, does the creature take control and Yashiro dies from trying to contain and save Hanako in the process?
So he would kill the girl he loves, the same way he killed his beloved brother?
It's a little crazy, but it's still a possibility.
He tries to save the girl he loves but in the end it's his fault for her death? (my heart hurts just thinking about it ;~;)
But what does Sakura have to do with it? Could she be a Kannagi who wants revenge? Why does she want both supernaturals and humans to disappear from existence? And why would Tsukasa agree to this? Many questions…
It was a random thought I had when I saw the image of Hanako worrying about his seal. It could all be nonsense in my head. Maybe someday I'll organize these theories better

I was reading your post about: "Kou here is half right and half wrong" and I didn't understand the part about yorishiros. So if Amane is really dead then why is Tsukasa looking for him. I'm not trying to offend your theory, I just wanted to go into more detail if you don't mind, because to me the idea of Amane already being dead seems quite interesting.
I don't feel offended. Sometimes I write unclearly, so I'm not surprised that you didn't understand it. Such misunderstandings are often perceived negatively. I'm glad not this time.I'd be happy to explain more what I meant. It's not a problem for me.
I meant that
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amane as a teacher is responsible for the rumors about Tsukasa to bring him back. My theory here is that it's possible that he remembered Tsukasa at some point in his adolescent life, or as an adult, and planned to introduce his younger brother,or he remembered it all the time, but he had no way of bringing it back.
I'm sure Amane knows that no.1 wanted to get rid of his younger brother. Basically, they wanted to erase his existence. This was the true purpose of this world.
Amane has a plan and has found a way to find his own brother. Look at that sly smile with confidence. I think he knew it would work.
Amane's plan succeeded and brought Tsukasa in because of the rumors he was the author of. He's not looking for him anymore, he found him in my opinion.
Amane doesn't appear in the future, only in the past and shows himself as the spirit/ Flashback(?) of yashiro and it is known that he disappeared, so in my opinion, after bringing Tsukasa to this world, Amane committed suicide again, making Tsukasa his yorishiros for the second time.
Tumblr media
Amane as a ghost/memory(?) reveals himself and proposes rituals to the students so that Tsukasa will have someone to play with, which he should do. Tsukasa is just having fun later. When Amane was a teacher the rumor was still alive after his disappearance it still happens because Amane doesn't let this rumor die in my opinion. This also helps Tsukasa exist and lead the mess into this world.
Tumblr media
Kou only stated a fact, but his words should be taken the other way around. Tsukasa is Amane's yorishiro. Yorishiro is the most important thing/person belonging to mystery in school. Amane before this world said that no wish is valid when Tsukasa is not with him. No.1 wanted to separate him from his brother and destroy him. No wonder Amane wants to destroy this world and it would be very like him after bringing Tsukasa after the rumors to die a second time and make Tsukasa his yorishiros for the second time.
It's also possible that Amane could have regained his supernatural powers after his second death to make Tsukasa his yorishiros for the second time/or it's possible that he was always supernatural but couldn't use the powers because it just didn't work. This world is controlled by number 1 and has regained its power after another suicide.
I hope I explained it well now. Thanks for the question.

What’s ur opinion on the whole Teru and kou fight ? Do u think any of them where in the wrong ? ^^
I love it, it’s one of my all time favorite chapters! I will die for the Minamoto bros!
And I think both boys are justified but in the wrong.
Before I get into their fight, is good to remember that their conflict is a follow up to the young exorcist mini arc. The arc that actually had a “proper” resolution, ending with Kou promising to take responsibility and interfere if Hanako proved to be dangerous.
Tumblr media
A lot happened after this promise: We got Nene's lifespan reveal, Kou’s promise to always be on her side, his feelings of failure after Mitsuba’s death, which only increased after Hanako called him out for “talking big but having no solutions to offer”, his promise with the second Mitsuba, and much more.
Kou got overwhelmed by it all. So much so, he stopped giving his promise to Teru any thought, something we are explicitly shown in chap 65, where Teru wasn’t even an option when he started thinking about his “top priorities.”
Tumblr media
And even more happened after the study camp, so it wasn’t surprising that he decided to side with Yashiro.
But Teru doesn’t know any of that, in his mind, this promise is just as important to him as it is to Kou. He is so confident Kou will keep his word and stop Hanako if he shows signs of being dangerous, that he gives Kou full liberty: He let Kou hang out with Hanako and other ghosts, he even teams him up with Nene when they are searching for a way to the far shore because he believed nothing would make Kou go against him.
Now, Teru is a smart person, but he is also arrogant, so when he comes to a conclusion he always assumes he is right.
He never asks Kou anything because he assumes Kou understands Hanako crossed the line by destroying the yorishiros, which caused enough damage for the need of a severance and led Aoi to her death, and he will take responsibility for it.
He clearly trusts Kou to keep his word, and the interesting thing about Teru is that as guarded and prideful as he is, when he trusts someone with something, he trusts them blindly. He is genuinely surprised when Kou breaks his promise and points his weapon at him.
Tumblr media
Teru is hurt but he remains calm, he acts tired and unamused, almost testing Kou at first. Not taking him serious.
He ignores Kou to run after Hanako. He blocks and dodge but refuses to give Kou a fight. Even when there is no denial Kou is there to stop him, Teru doesn’t raise his voice, looking disappointed and tired. Annoyed at most.
He acts as if Kou messed up big time, but it's not personal.
Tumblr media
He only loses his cool when Kou proudly declares he is on Nene’s side.
Not Teru’s side. Nene’s side.
Tumblr media
This is when Teru snaps. Kou may not have thought much about his decision, but this hit Teru hard: There are few people Teru genuinely cares about, and even fewer that he trusts.
Watching the unshakable truth that his family will always be by his side be proven wrong messes with both Teru’s feelings and his ego.
Teru have every right to be angry here. Kou didn’t take Teru’s feelings into consideration at all when decided to side with Nene, so it can easily feel like he doesn’t need Teru anymore. That he doesn’t care.
But Kou also have every right to get angry.
Teru didn’t bring up their deal, and didn’t mention how this hurt, he stayed on the "high ground" to feel like he have control, so for Kou, his aggression came out of nowhere.
Kou is genuinely surprised by Teru’s change in attitude. It feels like his brother is being cruel for no reason, bringing up his chores and demoting his determination as playing hero just to make him feel bad.
Tumblr media
It’s not normal of him, so Kou's first instinct is to blame it on supernaturals. He doesn’t think at any point that he hurt Teru, and he doesn’t assume Teru wants to hurt him either since he knows Teru cares about him, he is just rationalizing as best he can. And the one thing he can’t understand at all is Teru’s attitude with supernaturals.
His unease only turn into anger when Teru snaps that Kou doesn’t understand him, as if Kou should be able to.
But Kou can’t, because Teru never tells him anything. Kou is rightfully angry to be blamed for something Teru brought on himself.
Teru can’t expect to get understanding, sympathy, or anything to help handle his pain when he is the one that doesn’t allow himself to be vulnerable and honest with Kou.
Tumblr media
Teru dug his own grave and dragged Kou in it too, even if Teru doesn’t realize it.
Teru built this image of someone ‘unbeatable and reliable’ since Kou was extremely young, he is almost untouchable, someone Kou can’t imagine helping outside domestic tasks. While it doesn’t make Kou’s action any less careless and insensitive, I can understand why he would prioritize those that he had failed before and ‘needs his help’, over Teru’s feelings.
Teru had good intentions when trying to protect Kou but he only fucked up Kou's self-esteem and give him a whole different batch of issues.
Tumblr media
Kou hates being pushed away. He doesn’t want to play hero, he doesn’t want to be seen as a useless kid, he never asked Teru to keep him in the dark and protect him. It hurt, to not be trusted with anything meaningful.
He knows taking care of the house is important but he doesn’t want to replace their mom. He wants to be by Teru's side, he wants to be dependable and respected too, which in the Minamoto household heavily connects with being a ‘good exorcist’.
He envies Teru for being a good exorcist.
Why wouldn’t he? Teru is praised and respected, Teru always smiles to not worry Kou, he paints his night patrols as fighting evil monsters, like the heroes on tv, and never vents about his rough nights.
Kou isn't stupid he must know from Teru's fucked up schedule and bruises that being an exorcist isn't easy. But since he isn't shown how it permanently beats people down, he only assumes Teru finds it 'too hard for him', which translated to 'Kou can't take it'.
Teru harsh words also hit were it hurt. It goes straight to Kou’s insecurities.
Teru can be cold but he takes his role as a big brother very seriously, so he understands his decisions had a negative effect on Kou. He is sad about it but he still doesn’t think he was wrong to keep Kou in the dark. So he doesn’t apologize, he tries to share his point of view, no sugar coating so the message sink in.
The problem is that Teru is horrible at words so instead of telling Kou his feelings and worries, try to make his line of thought something easy to follow, he shows it through actions. It feels needlessly aggressive to knock Kou’s staff off his hand and slam him on the train, but it is the way Teru knows how to express himself. It doesn’t make his behaviour any less bad, one of the worst ways to show his point of view on the matter, but is understandable from the way he grew up that this is his first instinct when he want to 'send a message'.
Calling Kou weak isn’t a payback moment or a power play, it’s what Teru genuinely believes in, is something he knows will hurt Kou and he is not happy about it. It’s why he never said it before, is why we can see his distress and frustration from how his mouth was drawn and his eyes are covered.
Tumblr media
His attempt to ‘protect’ Kou stunted Kou’s growth as an exorcist and made him weaker than he would have been if he was trained properly.
It was wrong of Teru to make this call, he was insensitive and careless too, he didn’t consider Kou’s feelings at all.
But is understandable. Being weak doesn’t have the same meaning to Teru as it does to Kou.
Teru envies Kou's weakness.
Kou also hid his feelings of inferiority and helplessness from Teru, greeting him with a bright smile, so of course Teru mostly sees the good side of being left behind on patrol: weakness is a lack of shackles, a lack of sleepless nights, and bloody family history.
Being a prodigy ruined Teru’s life. He can be a very efficient exorcist but he doesn’t know how to be a functional human being. A lot of what he did to protect Kou is him projecting, giving Kou what Teru wished he had.
Teru may be proud of his skills, arrogant even, but he knows his deep connection to exorcism made him colder and harder to deal with, alienating him from his peers in a way he didn’t want Kou to experience. He truly believes he is doing the right thing by leaving him in the dark.
Tumblr media
He never wanted to hurt Kou. Just like Kou didn’t want to hurt him.
But they did, they both fucked up.
In short: They have a huge communication problem, but they care a lot about each other, and I really need them to have another talk.

Love for Yashiro Nene ⍣ ೋ
5/6
← →
Yashiro Nene has a surprising amount of unexplained events and mysteries around her. From the time traveling, the Kannagi, her wish, this little mermaid seems to be interlaced with the most obscure details. Not to mention how her presence seems to be a factor in the whole story, from the rumors of the seven wonders spurring, Tsukasa enacting his plans, and Hanako kickstarting the severance, and other arcs. Here this’ll help explain some of them, though this is more theoretical than fact!
The Kannagi:
To start off, we already know Yashiro is a Kannagi. Tsuchigomori referred to her as such. Kannagi also references Mikoism. Miko are shrine maidens who can convey the word of kami (spirits, and gods) and do their bidding. They are also referred to as shamans and spirit mediums. The word “Kannagi” is similar to Mikos, as they refer to dependence or communication of gods. It also refers to people who carry them. Their job sounds very similar to what Yashiro has to do for Hanako. She is somebody who takes orders from a supernatural, or in other words spirits. During the Sacrifice of the Grim Reaper arc she is even wearing traditional Miko wear, the moment she is about to appease a god (Hakubo aka No.6). The other Kannagi do as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the only ways that we were told how one can become a Kannagi (that we know of) is by their family. Then, there’s the fact that Yashiro is bound to Hanako via the Mermaid’s curse, this can also extend to Nanamine in which we are told she was bound to Tsukasa. So, if we go by what we know, we can infer that another way to become a Kannagi is to have dependency or be connected to a supernatural being. What kind of supernatural you can connect to, may vary, but we also know by the start of the Far Shore Bound Arc that if you eat a part of a supernatural being you can become bound by them. This is also evident with the Mermaid’s curse. Originally, Yashiro was to be with the mermaid as a fish, but because of Hanako’s interference it’s only half true.
Nanamine Sakura:
This brings us over to Nanamine Sakura. I have already mentioned before how she and Yashiro have a lot of similarities and parallel each other. From their designs, their role as priestess or Kannagi, and their affiliation of an Amane twin, there are a few more links to them. The most important being how both of their wishes work.
Yashiro’s wishes went from three transitions. Originally it was to be with Teru Minamoto, which then led her to swallowing a mermaid scale in retaliation and getting the mermaid curse. Then, during the Picture Perfect arc, once learning that she will die soon she wishes for Hanako to live longer. After the disappearance of Aoi and Hanako, she becomes depressed and wishes to die if it means to save Aoi and be with him.
When every yorishiro is pulled off, Yashiro will die. But Hanako will subvert this because at the same time God will be free and he will have his wish if he destroyed them himself. At the same time Nanamine will also be free and everything will cease to exist because of her wish.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So Nanamine and Yashiro are closely related to God, where Yashiro dies when God is free whereas Nanamine rises. An end for Yashiro and humanity, and a beginning for Sakura and God.
Perhaps Nanamine’s admiration over Yashiro is the result of them being closely related. They seem to be afflicted with similar curses, or perhaps Sakura was just like Yashiro at some point. As she seems inclined to hand out information to Yashiro. In fact, she may not be as loyal to Tsukasa as people may think as she favors Yashiro more and does whatever she can to assist.
No.8 + Ropes of Fate:
Like every girl, Yashiro has a lot of connections to some future events that may occur, or even links to some important figure heads.
No.8 is the school mystery that nobody seems to know about, but we have hints of them all around. Our very first clue of Yashiro and her relation with the illustrious No.8 is in her name. Nene, in Japanese, means 8. Just as Mitsuba means 3, and the “Nana” in Sakura’s name means 7.
There are also a lot of other connections and subtle hints all over the manga, as well as the AU’s that hints to No.8 being related to Nene.
Yet, a big indicator that this connection runs deeper and will affect nearing happenings is her habit of time traveling and Nanamine Sakura.
For some reason Yashiro can time travel, more specifically with Hanako or the boundaries of the other wonders. She goes into a boundary and has the power to see the last memories of the wonder, however it’s different for Hanako. At first, people may assume that all of this is just hopping through memories like Yako or Mei. After the Summer Festival arc, it becomes clear after some hints from Yashiro that sometimes when looking into past memories, it has consequences. When Yashiro kisses Amane’s head, he instinctively covers his forehead, then we see this habit exhibited later. The time traveling all point towards Amane at some point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The mystery of her time traveling may also be linked to Hanako’s future changing, as we know from Tsuchigomori that the future can never change, it’s all predetermined. Amane Yugi seems to be the only exception to this rule as he was supposed to be a teacher, but changed that fate and became Hanako. The only thing that could give a remedy as to why is Yashiro, a chaotic variable in this.

Two questions: Do you think that without the seal Hanako-kun is probably stronger than Teru Minamoto? Another Teru vs Tsukasa question, do you think this type of fight will happen and if so do you have any theory of how it will probably go. I love your posts ❤️
u.u
I'm very curious about others V. yorishiro … as far as we know, only a kannagi can unseal one, and only the mystery itself can rip them to smithereens…. so I am not sure if damage to them would really, 'stick'? Would they just reappear in their boundary, or something? I don't know ...
As it is though, things cannot die/come to life in a boundary, either, but they CAN be hurt (and power can be exchanged/moved around)… I'm not sure how vulnerable a yorishiro taken out of a boundary … is ? I think we need to think not of Tsukasa's strength, but what he IS … we need to equate him to an object in this system… whatever he can do physically notwithstanding, I don't even know what ANYONE could do to something like Shijima-san's sketchbook! it's not a real sketchbook-- you cannot just rip it apart! It being physically unable to fight you doesn't mean you can just destroy it !!! This is not a fight between strong people, it's not a Superman V. Goku situation … there are rules and alignments. As we've seen at least, it DOESN'T matter if you're the world's strongest exorcist, if your target is blessed.
I don't believe anyone-- not even Minamoto Teru?-- could have walked into Yako's boundary and physically obliterated her scissors… They aren't a physical, real object, in that sense, they are something of the shrine itself. Teru as it is cannot do anything to a holy/blessed being, and his edge in fights is managing to stop Hanako from appending his Tsueshiro …
Hanako has to use his joudai to switch from a mononoke to a holy spirit … but, isn't a yorishiro always an element of a God? Teru refers to the mysteries as Godlike … but it appears more as if they are borrowing--or siphoning/redirecting-- their power from a God via the yorishiro system (a wish to protect something?).
I'm not sure Teru can do much to Tsukasa… though we do see Kou can harm Tsukasa with mild lightning, he isn't afraid. A yorishiro isn't really a fully-fledged ghost or kaii, I'm not sure they can be 'exorcized'… ? Tsukasa is not 'an evil spirit' ... They are typically considered sacred objects … again, the kannagi system would be pointless if Teru could just run into any sacred space and blow apart a rock and a pair of scissors … ????? He probably stays out of them (governed boundaries, furthest sanctums) for a reason ... ?
We have already seen Nene-chan capable of performing a blessing more effortlessly and effectively than Teru can…. where real holiness is concerned it feels as if Minamoto can do hardly anything.
In terms of 'strength comparison', it's more that Teru has 'strategy'. There are conditions in which Teru could not even scratch Hanako…. but he's very practiced at fighting specifically kaii, while Hanako cannot be practiced at fighting specifically exorcists, lol. He has an advantage there …
I think as Hanako gains experience, he could get better at handling Teru, and employing better strategy… and also, if he weren't always mildly suicidal while facing him, he may have a better mind towards it. Hearing in the far shore that Teru would vengefully kill Yashiro, possibly, might change how serious he gets about it all, going forward....
Somehow when I think of "Teru V. Tsukasa" I moreso think about how much Hanako might feel about that ... hmmm.
All that said it's also possible Teru just would know to not fuck with Tsukasa from a glance ... ? or would need to go into it with specific assets? again, he's a strategist ... maybe it is ignorant/stupid for Kou to just barrel at Tsukasa, as he does. Maybe Teru would just go into it understanding what will/won't work and have a very specific goal for neutralizing, but limited options overall. I DUNNO!!!! We have never seen if there is some Tsukasa equivalent of 'append tsueshiro', OR if he's sortof always already in that kind of state, or something...
I guess I would just say I don't think about strength all that much at that scale, it's going to come down to what they can even do to each other at all...!

TBHK CH. 94: (rants, analysis & brainrots)
SPOILER WARNING FOR MANGA
Whoo, what a roller coaster of a chapter.
So much for Sumire and Hakubo being wholesome and enigmatic. NGL, with No. 6 being heartfelt about his regrets about Sumire & her emotions I was expecting some fluff. But, I mean, it kinda makes sense?
Tumblr media
Like he still couldnt stop thinking about her and feeling strongly about her. When Sumire told him she had to be destroyed, maybe Hakubo already planned this? Giver her one happy memory and to destroy her himself? not let anyone kill her again as he just watched. Sumire telling he's already in his deepest he'll probably snapped him. Hakubo wished he could have fallen to hell for her. But he is in hell, and so he hurts her himself.
Idk, a lot of speculation here, but I guess we'll find out
Next order of business: boundary is crumbling. I'm sensing 2 possibilities:
1.) due to the fact that the supernatural and living world are still sealed apart, the boundaries (the in between) are all ceasing to exist.
2.) Since Sumire is the Yorishiro, maybe the boundary crumbling is due to what's happening with her & Hakubo. Like something negatively impacting her also impacts the boundary?
Cue the cut back to our girl Nene who is back on a mission. Girl has so much going on, I think it's pure that she's worrying over Aoi and Sumire even when her own life is in jeopardy.
Then who of all people does Nene meet?
Tumblr media
The enigma, Sakura.
Sakura shows up and tells Nene this isn't her place to die which is good for Nene. But the way she says it makes me worry about Nene's future.
Also, while Sakura mentioning she's an Esper was a bit of a joke. There's a lot of merit to it.
Her 100 gear old wish in Ch. 93. Hakubo alluding to her as his boss in Ch.94. This girl knows a lot, I've always gotten the vibe she doesn't quite belong and knows more than she lets on. At this point I'd say she's definitely supernatural, and possibly one of the oldest in the school. The founder of the seven school wonders possibly. That's all speculation though, only the next chapter can say.
Adding onto the Esper-ness Sakura holds answers we've all been dying to know.
Tumblr media
And even though she says Tsukasa can't see them now I can't help but think she's on her own agenda, planning something.
Though, I'm also getting the sense she's involved in Tsukasa and Amane becoming supernaturals.
There's so many questions: Why is Yashiro destined to die? How did Tsukasa become what he is? What caused Amane to become Hanako? Who is Sakura? What led to the creation of the 7 school wonders?
Tumblr media
At this point, I'll happily take any answers I can get.
Can't wait for Aidairo to work their wonders and for and for any answers we may be getting next month.

TBHK Ch. 92: Analysis
Well. Not really. I loved this chapter, but it asks a LOT more questions than it answers. So. Most of my notes for this chapter are “things I want to keep track of for future chapter reading”.
* STILL NO SIGN OF HANAKO’S SECOND HAKUJOUDAI. Yeah, I’m going to keep talking about that until the damn thing resurfaces.
* The setting for the broadcast room has changed. It looks like it’s now somewhere you get to through the No-Place of Doors. The way the door’s lit, and the flooring around it, are like that place.
* Aww. Tsukasa took Yashiro’s ‘endless blank puzzle’! Seems to be enjoying it, too.
* I find it interesting that Sakura takes Yashiro’s eventual acquiescence as a given - but Tsukasa seems to be very uncertain as to whether Yashiro can actually take out a living yorishiro. I think it’s very like Tsukasa to want to test that up front. Even if Sumire said she’s ready to die, Yashiro has a very gentle heart and Tsukasa knows it.
* “Once they’re all destroyed you can finally go outside, Sakura”. Makes it sound a lot like Sakura is a prisoner of the Wonders, doesn’t it?
* Also worth noting here is that it’s Tsukasa asking Sakura if she has any regrets. Tsukasa studying Sakura to see if she’s got any feelings at all. I just want y’all to take a moment to consider how fucked up that situation is. Also, “that would hurt someone, or something.” I’m coming back to that.
* Black speech bubble, font change...the Entity? Possibly talking through Tsukasa?
* Okay. Sakura has been around for over 100 years. She claimed, back at the tea party, to be a human. But she’s perfectly all right with a wish that could potentially destroy everything, if she can only leave the school. I’m...inclined to think she may be one of the sacrificed kannagi, or some kind of amalgam entity. She may also be the original student from whom the “Hanako-san of the Toilet” legend came - it would explain her claim to be human, along with her longevity as a spirit, since her tangential connection to the rumors would keep her bound to the near shore.
* NATSUHIKO WHAT EVEN ARE YOU. No, really, I want someone with more grounding in Japanese folklore to take a serious stab at this. We know he’s loyal (to his chosen Lady). We know he’s a flirt and a braggart. We know he’s a trickster, and ‘more a lover than a fighter’ but very hard to injure or kill. Anyone want to take a stab at what he might be, that he’s genuinely not concerned about the supernatural world and the physical world doing a complete overlap?
* I’m just gonna say it...the fact that NONE OF THE BROADCAST TRIO have any concern whatsoever about Mitsuba’s yorishiro suggests that either Mitsuba’s control over Three’s powers are not connected to that yorishiro, or that the Trio think Mitsuba isn’t going to in any way be a problem when it comes time to destroy that yorishiro. And damn, it’s cold of them to pretend to be his friend when apparently this entire time they were thinking of destroying that yorishiro.
* SIX HAS A NAME...and it’s “Twilight”. I shall refrain from any snickering, and instead consider that it’s strange for him to be there, since that’s not where he died. Unless he’s not quite dead yet. After all, his yorishiro still exists, and so apparently does his domain. Maybe he’d recover, given time? I’m looking forward to finding out if this affects Sumire’s willingness to die.
* Oh man. I am so curious what One’s yorishiro is going to be.

Chapter 91 Recap
So to recap, I sent somebody an ask about chapter 91 and I'm gonna elaborate a bit more on what happened in this chapter for anyone who isn't deep in the series anymore/isn't sure what's going on.
From the very beginning of the series, we've known that if you uncover the truth of all the yorishiro, something will happen. As confirmed by the most recent chapter, if you destroy all yorishiro then god will grant you a wish.
While Hanako had a bunch of perfect excuses at the time, he wanted to get rid of the yorishiro from the very beginning - and him already having been a rule-breaker and outcast when he was alive, it always felt strange for him to be so set on keeping up the peace because somebody told him so. It's convenient and using his power gave him the chance to destroy the yorishiro up to this point. We know by all of his past actions that he lies, he bends things, and he has other ulterior motives. These motives are usually protecting the people he cares for and especially Yashiro.
But Yashiro isn't what made him a supernatural. In order to become a supernatural after you die, you need to have regret. And the stronger your regret and emotion, the stronger of a supernatural you will be. Your yorishiro symbolises what that regret is and is always associated with it.
Hanako's greatest regret is having killed Tsukasa and everything concerning Tsukasa's death. Tsukasa is the only one with a solid connection to Hanako and he bears the seal all yorishiro do - and at the point we found out that Sumire was No.6's yorishiro, we knew that people can be a yorishiro too. Not just objects, as seen with the other numbers.
To Tsukasa's surprise, Hanako knows this. Hanako knew from the very beginning that if he destroyed all yorishiro, he would be granted a wish. And upon his death, what was the thing he'd probably wish for the most? It has to do with his greatest regret.
But things changed and Hanako wishes for Yashiro to live. He admitted as much, he said it in his conversation with Yashiro. And as soon as he admitted that openly, Tsukasa appears and urges him to kill him.
They both know what Hanako needs to do and that's why Tsukasa holds his hands with the knife and says "Let's do it." Because fulfilling Hanako's wish and destroying the yorishiro, at this point it's something only the two of them can do.
That means Hanako has to repeat what started all of this and kill his brother again. Not only that, he needs to make a decision - because there is more than one wish he has, but only one will be granted.
And that ignores all the other implications, no matter how you interpret Tsukasa's behaviour and the reveal about Natsuhiko. Even if he makes a choice now, there is no guarantee as to how things will turn out.
So that means we need to wait another month! Thanks for reading.

Crazy theory of this week (cause again, I really need to sleep!)! #JSHK
I don't know exactly why and I assume this information because Teru seems a character that know some relevant sh*t in the story. (He also hates Hanako to a point of no return so... Not maybe the most reliable opinion BUT!)
Tumblr media
Anyway, chapter 70 gives two interesting povs. Teru's and Hanako's.
Teru explained to Akane what was going on inside the school under his own conclusions.
Tumblr media
Nº6 did all of this, "kidnap a maiden" thing because he wanted to keep protecting this land (Aka the school, that was built on it.)
Tumblr media
The Supernaturals of the school threaten alive ones so they keep existing and with that, they protect the school. But they... are losing the power to do that. ("The knife has been very subtle" eh Teru.)
Why exactly? Because this motherf*cker was in love with the girl that was planned to be sacrificed in the first place:
Tumblr media
By advising Akane, Teru implies there is going to be a confrontation in the future. "Be careful because Hanako-kun is an evil spirit and in the future I'm going to need you to defeat him." Now we are in chapter 79, we know Teru has a dream. And to make it true he needs Aoi-chan too. In this chapter, he even gave a protection charm to Aoi-chan. Because he knows what's going to happen next and he knows what's going on. He knows this was all planned by Hanako-kun (And he is right. Mostly.) When he reach for Akane-kun in that place, and see Aoi-chan with him, he realizes there is nothing he can do in that moment. And for sure, that he is coming back for her. She is necessary for his own move, and Teru is about to do something pretty soon.... So, we will know sooner or later. We know the Minamoto were part of the village that sacrificed girls just to be safe of the Evil (Which I think is the sh*t that "lives" in the cursed red house. And also in the Fake Tsukasa Yugi we all have seen in the school messing around and not Hanako as Teru believes, the only thing he doesn't know. We can assume that Hanako as a ghost took all responsibility for Fake Tsukasa's crimes...), Teru explained everything in this chapter, he even changed the way he was speaking in order to doesn't sound rough.
Tumblr media
(Akane-kun is so relatable here...) Teru knows about Hanako's setup, but not about Tsukasa at all I think. And we have seen Tsukasa (the fake one) just causing chaos. But Hanako, well he is more elaborated. So I guess he thought the evil spirit was just Hanako by himself, when in realise Hanako just wanted Yashiro to live longer. It's like when Tsuchigomori saw him smiling with Kou and Yashiro and told him: "Didn't expect you to want friends at this point." Because Hanako was always a lonely spirit that God put into the school to "atone" his crimes (which I believe are: none.) Another day I'll write some theory about why Hanako is going to come alive, again, because maybe he is not as dead as we think... wait for it!
There are still a lot of questions. Why was Yashiro to be sacrificed in the first place? Why is she a kannagi? (Cause if she is a kannagi cause again, she is going to die soon as all the characters had said, well that's a f*cking paradox.) And what is Teru planning? This way the school is safe and as an exorcist he doesn't have to worry anymore, so why? Hanako did his job. They will lose their jobs as exorcists? Even if the school is sealed more supernaturals will appear in the city and now without the 7 mysteries they have lost a great ally to beat them... Or he needs Aoi-chan to fight this evil spirit who he thinks... is Hanako(?) We might think for sure the school can be attacked now the 7 mysteries are gone... (I also believe the death of his mother is relevant to his interests now...) We will see.
That was Teru's point of course. But that's not all.
Tumblr media
This is when everything starts to falling apart. Because, before Hanako appeared in front of Yashiro, she was destined anyway to die young. Okay, right? But how? He wanted to protect her, so he messed up with all the school mysteries ("he was the traitor all the time" the one who weakened them) and they lost their powers to protect the school of... other things. (The night Aoi-chan was kidnapped by Nº6, the supernaturals were all over the place.) I mean, he doing all of this is the reason Nº6 came out of his hole to kidnap some random girl and ending all just fine and the 7 mysteries dissapeared for good... But is not that easy.
What have we been learning so far? Yes, Tsukasa, Natsuhiko and Nanamine started everything with Nº2. Tsukasa's wishes make everything dangerous. But it was Hanako the one who, with the idea of ending these dangerous scenarios, also weakened all the 7 mysteries in the future. He was even judged for it in chapter 61, night of the kidnapping. So: it was to get dangerous anyway? If he just had let the mysteries go wild like they were in the past of the story Yashiro might died even sooner because Nº6 was going to appear in any case? He was going to appear the night of the sacrifice and take Yashiro you like it or not? Yes, but... for this scenario to occur we need: chaos. Because without it, there is no need of protecting anything. (Yashiro's remaining life and Tsukasa's decisions are so related that it actually hurts...)
Tumblr media
So my conclusion is... (Hanako needs to take a break.) I think at first Hanako thought that maybe keeping the school without strange incidents was the best way to keep Yashiro alive, Nº6 shouldn't show up to protect the school that night, and everything would be fine... YES, but this is when Tsukasa (the fake one/real evil spirit) comes out on stage. And Hanako/Amane undestands everything is bigger than he believed. Even if he fix a mystery with Yashiro, another will get out of control. There is no stop. He couldn't do anything. If he didn't protect the school, Yashiro dies. And if they keep destroying the yorishiros, the mysteries then lose their powers and can't protect the school either way, so Yashiro dies. (Yashiro dies in every possible line because of that chaos. Because Nanamine's wish and Tsukasa's existence.) There was no escape, he even tried to wish for a fake world (thanks Number 4) where Yashiro could live happily. But that didn't end really well... So the only final way to help Yashiro was... sacrificing another human (which is also... something like what happens when you make a wish in the red house... right).
What Hanako commits is not really different from what Tsukasa does, even if his reasons are compelling... And the same happened in the moment he presumably killed his brother. How much power has the Red house over Hanako? How much of him is himself and how much of his soul is changed cause the evil spirit of the red house? And in the end, Teru said the 7 mysteries threaten but they also protect. That implies Hanako is the one who weakened all of them (having the role of the leader too) and he seems like the bad guy or the traitor, when he just did all of it to protect Yashiro (and the other kids for sure!), so he is just doing what he thinks is correct. He didn't help other mysteries go berserker in the first place but at the same time he let Aoi dies for his own desires. "If she is not Yashiro, then is fine. She wanted to die..."
I also believe Teru and Hanako are destined to fight again, that Nº1 should choose in which side to support. That something bigger is coming, with the supernaturals, the Red house, the Minamotos. And they will have to leave their differences behind to defeat a real evil. (N°6 is an air head btw.)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
It also interesting how Hanako didn't want to destroy Nº1 Yorishiro either because, as Teru said too: It could come in handy. Akane was even in the moment Nº6 took Aoi-chan. He also was there with Yashiro first. He is there to protect even if he will sacrifice his own lifespan. He is important for what's coming next, I don't think the other two mysteries of time chose him because those stupid reasons they said...

Ask Round-Up 1/?
I've recently gotten a lot of asks in the past week or so, which has been pretty fun! But it's a bit intense responding to all of them individually, and I have been wanting to try and respond... so I thought this might be an easier way to do so, by putting them all in one post!
I don't have as much to say about most of these also, so I figured a quick response like this was better, instead of multiple small posts. 🎶
So, without further ado...
Ask No. 1
Tumblr media
I think Hanako is incapable of "showing his limit" at the moment, for one. The seal on his cheek seems to seal his own power away (a thought I explore in this post btw), weakening him and preventing him from using his true power. Beyond that, Hanako is plenty strong enough to deal with any enemy thrown at him so far, so there hasn't been a need for him to go all out.
I also suspect that Hanako may have some reservations about showing his real power if he has trouble controlling it, or it makes him look scary. If that's the case, his worry about what Yashiro may think of him could definitely be holding him back! We just have to see. 🎶
Ask No. 2 (I'm not sure if they're connected but I am assuming yes?)
Tumblr media
Hmm... well, I do think the twin's relationship is clearly abnormal, especially since one killed the other. But I don't think the blushing Amane does during PP is of much concern; it comes across as a guy who is embarrassed of his clingy younger brother.
As for other occurrences, like in Ch. 16 when Amane finally meets Tsukasa again, I think Amane is just upset. Blushing can be seen when people cry, too, and it’s upsetting seeing your dead brother who you murdered.
As for Tsukasa... I do think he's a victim like Amane, in at least one way! If Amane had parents or guardians that didn't care about the scars on his wrists, then Tsukasa is also probably a victim of parental neglect. Maybe he’s not AS victim as Amane is, but he’s a little bit victim.
Ask No. 3
Tumblr media
I'm not sure! But I think it might have to do with the current arc. Aoi said she wants to go "far away", so maybe Aoi wanted to confide in her friend about her feelings? Aoi seems to feel disconnected from everyone in her life, even her best friend Nene, so she might've wanted a friend to just... listen to her. :( It could also have to do with how Aoi could see supernaturals, maybe...?
Ask No. 4
Tumblr media
In Japanese media, there's a popular trope of The Seven Mysteries, which is represented in Hanako-kun. You can read about it on tv tropes here!
I link this, because there doesn't have to be an Eighth Mystery. There certainly could be, but the whole gimmick of it is that there’s Seven, not Eight. :D I think the only way we are going to get an Eighth Mystery in Hanako, it it even happens, is through Yashiro. But it is also possible that maybe the God of the Seven Mysteries could count as the Eighth...? (Just a wild guess!)
Ask No. 5
Tumblr media
I'm honestly not sure. I'd personally just say they're there to accentuate the character's personalities. Yashiro is a (former?) mystery-loving highschool girl, with a love of cute and creepy things (she has skeleton plushies in her bedroom!). Sakura is a refined lady who holds fancy tea parties, so of course she'd have a lovely gem brooch!
If I had to go with something a bit more theorize-y, the skull could represent how Yashiro is going to die soon, and maybe the gem on Sakura holds magic properties? XD Like how people believe crystals hold hidden powers... I dunno!
Ask No. 6
Tumblr media
I love the pilot too, I'm with you there! I'm ultimately happy with the current Hanako we have, but there's parts of it I liked better. In particular, the concept of Hanako going to hell and being punished with marks on his wrist were pretty interesting. And AidaIro's old art is such a treat to look at!
And thanks so much! I blush. 😊
I got into Hanako-kun in November, after seeing the first animated trailer for it! It's so nostalgic watching it now, hehe. An artist I liked retweeted it on Twitter, and then I decided to read the manga! And then I made this blog after reading the manga in two days. XD Fun times!
Ask No. 7
Tumblr media
I feel very bad for Sumire! I think it's awful that she's been forced into boxes her whole life (and afterlife); first she was chosen to be a sacrifice and only had No. 6 for company, and then she died and was forced to stay in a timeloop of her own death as No. 6's yorishiro. I'd really hate if she ended up dying again if her yorishiro is destroyed, because her life is sooo unfair; so I'm purposefully hoping that Yashiro's crazy plan will work. XD
I'm not sure how much Yashiro can "save" Sumire, but maybe Sumire and No. 6 can make up and live happily ever after together. :) Wouldn't that be nice?! Maybe if we wish hard enough it will come true. (Lol)
And that's an interesting idea! Perhaps Sumire and Tsukasa went to heaven, and the yorishiro copies are just clones of the memories that No. 6 and No. 7 had of them. If that's what you mean, anyways? But yes, it's strange how yorishiros live a life of punishment of living through their deaths, if that's also what happened to yorishiro!Tsukasa... how needlessly cruel, when they’re supposed to be precious objects!
Ask No. 8
Tumblr media
I am good, thanks! :D
At first I thought it was an alternate timeline, but now I do think Nene actually time-travelled to the past, since Hanako acts weirdly around her after seeing her in the yukata. I figure Hanako just couldn't remember her very well, or perished the thought of them being the same since the girl was from 1964, not 2015+! And I'm unsure if young Amane's wish to meet her again is the cause of everything happening, but it would be awfully ironic, huh? 😅 The kid should've done the astronaut wish like she told him to! (Sheesh!)
Ask No. 9
Tumblr media
This ask was in reference to this post!
I think this is a solid theory! If there were three Hanakos (the original, another, and then Hanako-kun), then Sakura seems like the most obvious choice for being the second one.
Tumblr media
And yes! The girl does look like Sakura. Although, she is wearing a middle school uniform (I think?), and the hair doesn't match exactly... but it's something interesting to at least consider!
I'm unsure if she got removed from her job because of her wish to Tsukasa, though; I feel like Hanako would've had her position before she made a wish, especially since Tsukasa's wish-granting powers seem to be linked to Amane's powers as “Hanako-san of the Toilet”. So she must have done something else to get fired, I think!
--
Well, that wraps up this first Ask Round-Up. I’m not sure if I will be making this into a thing or not, but it was fun! Hope it was enjoyable. Bye-bye. :D

TBHK theory: Yashiro is Hanako’s yorishiro
Now I know what you are thinking: this is such an obvious theory. Everyone has thought of it at least once! I will say it has crossed my mind several times. However, today I thought of something that makes this theory make more sense...and seem even more plausible. Be warned; this has MASSIVE manga spoilers. Seriously, if you are anime only or have just started reading it, do NOT read further.
First off, I was talking to a friend about what Hanako’s yorishiro could be. She mentioned maybe his knife. However, this doesn’t make much sense. From what we’ve seen, yorishiros are things the seven mysteries highly value. Hanako’s knife does not hold good memories for him. So it being his yorishiro doesn’t make much sense.
Which brings me to the possibility of it being Yashiro. After all, it’s never been said that yorishiros have to be inorganic objects.
Here’s the thing. We all know that Yashiro will only live for another year at most.
Tumblr media
We also know that this has been set in stone since she was born. However...what if the reason her lifespan is so short is because she was always fated to become his yorishiro? Especially since they’ve been destroying the seven mysteries’ yorishiros. What if she has to die because she is one herself?
And that leads me to another point my amazing mutual @aryllahiruelric came up with. The reason she was fated to become one.
Tumblr media
Hanako’s wish when he was a child and met her somehow. His wish that he could meet her again. That is why she could be his yorishiro.
Also, one can’t deny that her last name, Yashiro, sounds an awful lot like yorishiro. It could represent her being the only one who can destroy them...or it could be foreshadowing.
So basically, to wrap it all up...the reason Yashiro has such a short time to live could be because she is Hanako’s yorishiro, which needs to be destroyed. And the reason she was fated to become one is because of the wish Hanako made when he met her as a child.

Note
Listennnn, so we noticed the parallel of the red house between the original timeline and the altered one, from the original one where yashiro was the one with kou when they found the house and what happened next was yashiro taken to the sacrificial pit and got out with her fish form, but in the new timeline where mitsuba who is seen to parallel to yashiro, as in the part where he can take the seal off a yorishiro, found the house with kou, im afraid the same thing might happened to yashiro might happen to mitsuba...
Second thing, remember when tsukasa-kun said "Two more," when he met kou and mitsuba, and the latest chapter we see them going to the red house together, like the entity has already planned for this to happen, something about the sacrifices, maybe two more means they are the only ones amane needed to sacrifice to finally get what he wished for from the entity in the house??
Hellooooo :3
Well, both arcs are similar overall. The number six arc and the current arc, we must remember that the house has its own flow of time and, most importantly, that all of this has been planned by Tsukasa since the beginning.
Tumblr media
Everything you are seeing now was purposely planned to happen because of Tsukasa. Remember that 12-year-old Tsukasa appeared to Nene to tell her that the time would be unstable during the festival.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He knows. He was the one who caused it.
And he is doing this to show more about Amane to Nene, and the red house is something important about Amane. Tsukasa is showing Nene what it would have been like if Hanako had followed his original destiny, as an adult teacher.
Probably to show her that that future would not be good either.
Or to make her choose.
Even though he knows the answer.
In the end, they all go to the red house, the difference is that apparently each one will be entering it at different times. Kou will enter the house of his reality, the destroyed house, and Mitsuba will enter the house in good condition.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember that technically Mitsuba is a mix, he is the real Mitsuba who did not die, but he has memories of Mitsuba 2, the supernatural one.
Tumblr media
If he were just Mitsuba 2, he would not see the house in good condition. That is a hypothesis.
If that is not the case, the house is trying to use this to its advantage, we do not know how yet.
I have a slight feeling that we will find out how Mitsuba died, and that he will be the sacrifice here.
And well, apparently there is a specific number of sacrifices that they must make, perhaps to free Tsukasa?
It is still a mystery.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Chapter 14: The 4pm Bookstacks (Part 4)
Previously: a lot happened. A whole lot. We’re finally learning about Hanako’s backstory and boy oh boy was it tough to read. And the worst part is that we’ve barely even scratched the surface of his story and I already was on the verge of tears. And I think this flashback isn’t over yet. So this can only mean good things for my sanity as we go through the rest of the chapters. It’s :) gonna :) be :) just :) great :)
Now onto the next chapter!
I don’t know if I’m emotionally prepared to keep going after the last chapter but my curiosity is also kinda killing so we’re gonna pummel through anyway!
Tumblr media
.................................................. (ಥ﹏ಥ) I’m so sad and it’s only the first page oh boy
It looks like we’re starting right where we left off but it looks like Hanako is employing a tactical move that I like to call “swift and sudden change of subject”. And I get that he clearly doesn’t want to talk about it but sigh I wish he would.
There’s the lunar rock! Oh, that’s interesting. He says that it fell right in front of him when he was about four years old. Tsuchigomori doesn’t really believe it’s an actual lunar rock, but Hanako says that he thought he wouldn’t, but that that won’t change what he believes
Tumblr media
...baby boy ♡o(╥﹏╥)o ♥♡ sweet baby boy look at that smile
BUT more importantly
Tumblr media
“We”, you say, huh? Okay, so before when the suspicious green-haired girl said “is yours like that, too?” I had asked a lot of questions since that comment had opened various possibilities. The main theories I had at the time was that maybe if more than one person summoned Hanako, then maybe different versions could appear or even that it could have been the same Hanako but acting differently depending on the person who called upon him. And this “we” comment could still point to something similar, maybe hinting that he has multiple personalities. But it also makes me think of another answer that I can’t believe it didn’t cross my mind earlier: could it be that he has a brother? Would that even work? Like, it would mean that his brother has to be dead too, right? So idk, maybe it wouldn’t be possible, But they keep hinting at this idea that there’s “another Hanako”, so I think I should keep various options on the table just case.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
....................baby boy
I’m sorry for gushing so much but he just looks so excited about his rock and the moon I :(((( I’m very torn because he’s adorable but he’s also covered in bruises and cuts and I just want him to be safe even though this is the past and nothing can be done now
Also! The fact that he said that this rock is his prized possession and now it is Tsuchigomori’s yorishiro (aka the object with the strongest emotional connection he has in his possession) says a lot about their relationship, huh? He really must care a lot about Hanako, much more than he lets on.
But yeah, Tsuchigomori wants to go back to the important subject at hand but once again Hanako uses “swift and sudden change of subject” and it’s super effective! It’s really taking all of my self-control not to post every panel with smiling Hanako here, he’s too precious, hel p. It seems like he really likes the moon and probably space in general and that’s really cute
o h
Tumblr media
The way my heart just sank oh my fucking go d child please get away from the window Tsuchigomori please get him away from there
Tumblr media
(;;⚆ _ ⚆ )  Tsuchigomori pl e  a se get him down from there before I have a heart attack
Oh okay, he’s back, mostly, kinda. He’s still on the window sill, though, and it’s giving me anxiety. I really need him to step back inside the room. God, I would have panicked just as much as Tsuchigomori right there jfc
Okay so, after slapping Tsuchigomori’s hand away when he tried to help him (which, hello, physical manifestation of his own unwillingness to get help), Hanako mentions how Tsuchigomori has said before that he’s worried about him and that he wants to help, and the teacher confirms that yes, that’s the case
Tumblr media
..............................god, I think I kept mentioning it last chapter too, but there’s something so powerful about the way Hanako was drawn in these last two chapters. He’s clearly the same character we have come to know, but there’s such vulnerability and humanity in the way he’s portrayed that it really tugs at your heartstrings. He looks so small and vulnerable, just like the child he is. A child that has seen and experienced too much but who still smiles to not worry those around him.
Ah, speaking of which
Tumblr media
;u;
So yeah, here’s where he gives Tsuchigomori the rock. And the latter is surprised to be receiving it since Hanako did say that this was his most prized possession. Hanako says that whenever he looks at it, he fees as if he could go anywhere..........okay, that just brings up more questions, because why would he give away something that gives him hope?
..................oh. Oh no, I don’t like the implications right here, no sir
Tumblr media
...........................................fuck. I really really don’t want my hunch to be right but. this really implies that he could have decided to end his own life. Because then he wouldn’t need his rock, not if he was bent on “not going anywhere”. And he’s saying it with a smile too what does that mean ...........I..........okay, let’s keep reading
It looks like the memory is over and we’re back to Yashiro and Tsuchigomori in the nurse's office. Wow, it’s night already, this whole ordeal really took quite a while.
Tsuchigomori confirms that what Yashiro saw where indeed the memories housed inside the yorishiro and oh! That’s right! That means that Hanako was the only person to have successfully changed their future, at least according to Tsuchigomori. How exactly did he change it would be the question to ask now.
Tsuchigomori starts to talk about the significance the moon landing had on society at the time since before that “going to the moon” was just another unattainable dream that only existed in people’s imaginations. But then it became reality and the world was full of hope because it opens the door to dreams that before seemed so unattainable now seemed possible. And how, among this cheerful climate, there was one boy who at that moment decided he wouldn’t be going anywhere.
Then he mentions that, as his teacher, he was worried about him, or so he pretended to be. Ah, okay. he says he “pretended” because he had already read his book, so even if he kept asking Hanako to tell him what was happening to him, he already knew. Hmmm, he says that he’s just “a supernatural pretending to be human” and that’s why he didn’t think much of it, but I honestly don’t think he would have been so indifferent if the book said that Hanako was gonna die soon (I’m assuming that conversation we saw wasn’t too much earlier in Hanako’s life since he didn’t look that much younger and the classroom sign said “2-2″ so he probably was in junior high? I think). So maybe the way his future change really was with him dying. Did Hanako die before he was supposed to?
Tumblr media
oh
Tumblr media
Oh, that’s.........that’s heartbreaking. He really did die too soon, way too soon. Fucking hell, that’s not what I expected at all. Like, when Tsuchigomori first mentioned that one person had been able to change their future, I had imagined that it would be a positive change, you know? Because usually, those type of scenarios play out with the person avoiding a bad situation that would be detrimental to their future. But it seems like here it’s the opposite.
Also, just imagine being in Tsuchigomori’s shoes in this situation. Like, you’re worried about the kid but then you find out that he's gonna be okay: he'll become a teacher after he delves into what he's passionate about. So you relax a bit, since what’s been written in the books never changes. But then, one day, suddenly and unexpectedly, that boy dies, that same boy who smiled at you and seemed to have such a bright future ahead of him. His life was cut short and now he's another being that haunts the school you work at. And you tell yourself that there was nothing you could have done since the future had never changed before, but a part of you whispers the "what ifs" every time you see his face on the hallways and it’s just. again, I repeat: heartbreaking.
Tumblr media
;u; look at this good man. He really is a softie on the inside.
Tumblr media
Oh dear, it looks like she’s really shaken up. Can’t say I blame her, that’s a lot of heavy information to digest in one go.
Awwww and of course, there are Kou and Hanako barging into her room, because these loud boys are loud. Also, Kou should know by this point that Hanako doesn’t have any regard for personal space with anyone so, yeah, it’s kind of a lost cause lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, sweetie...The whole ordeal was really emotionally taxing on her. Like she says there, we all knew that he was a ghost from the start but learning about his life makes us face the fact that he’s also alive at one point. He was around Kou and Nene’s age when he died. Again, we knew that deep down, but now the fact that his future was cut short is impossible to ignore. That’s the reality of the situation and Yashiro has a lot to think about after this. She’s still only, what, fifteen? and it is a heavy burden to deal with.
Tumblr media
Oh? He probably notices that something is off by her reaction? Does he know what she saw when she destroyed the yorishiro?
Okay, so he goes to confront Tsuchigomori about it
Tumblr media
Hmmm, so yeah, like I thought at the beginning of this arc: he’s probably not ready to actually share the details of his life with her yet. And honestly, after the last two chapters, I see where he’s coming from because this is a lot to unpack.
Tumblr media
........oH

hi I wanted to ask, Hanako seems to have had a goal this whole time, to destroy the yorishiros and he's been using Yashiro since the beginning. I wonder why he gave up so easily during the Severance? He couldn't destroy Yorishiros without a human assistant or without being in the mortal realm, yet it seems like he's given up in everything he was trying to do? Why do you think that is? Since people have been sacrificing kannagis for a while but Supernaturals always seemed to come back, I wonder if the Severance is temporary? But then the whole arc with Yashiro Akane and Kou wouldn't make sense, if all they needed to do was wait it out. What do you think? Thank you and have a good day
The answer is simple, Hanako was in love.
Tumblr media
He is in love with Nene, he doesn't want her to die, and that was the only solution he found in time.
Based on what we know today, with the information we have, Hanako's goal is to save Tsukasa, and he has been working on it for years. When Nene appeared, he knew she was the girl who would be able to remove the yorishiros (it seems the twins were waiting for her).
The idea is that Yashiro would remove all the seals, and probably, she would be used as the sacrifice (explaining her short life) so that Tsukasa and Amane would have that wish from the entity.
Tumblr media
But, Hanako fell in love with Nene, his love for her made him back down. He doesn't want her to die, he doesn't want to follow that old plan from before anymore, something that even Tsukasa questioned.

And here we see Hanako trapped once again in the same old dilemma, when Tsukasa and Nene need to be saved, but Amane still doesn't know how to do it (for both of them).
So, Hanako believed that separating the world of the living and the dead would be enough to keep Nene safe, and he would find another way to save Tsukasa.
But, Tsukasa doesn't seem to like the idea, and here we see the red house arc, where Tsukasa appears to them, and the moment when Nene is sent to the boundary of number six to remove Sumire's seal. Something that TSUKASA planned. He even says that Hanako complained a little.
Tumblr media
At this point, Tsukasa made things go back to the original plan, even without Hanako wanting it. But, what makes me curious is about Teru. I understand Akane, he wanted to save Aoi, but what about Teru?
It seems that the Minamotos have an obligation to keep the two worlds in tune and connected, even if Teru hates the idea. The motivation for this is what we will see in the future.

hey, what chapter do you think TBHK will end?
i mean, we already got to 100 chapters, do you think we'll make it to 200?
also what do you think could be the ending of the story?
hopefully Yashiro gets her life span back
It's a good question, the chapters can increase or decrease according to the fame and success of the manga, and since sales are good, it's likely that it will become a little longer.
There's still a lot that needs to be developed and explained, although the mysteries are almost all without the yorishiros, we still have the story of the twins, Yashiro, Mitsuba, the family of exorcists, the entity, Tsuchigomori (who seems to have a very important role here), there's also the possibility of more alternative realities emerging and of course, the development of the original story itself.
So, in addition to that, we still have the development of their relationships, we're following the problems, we need to find out how everything will develop over time in relation to many things.
We are still in the discovery phase, in this current arc, we will still see the new changes, how they will deal with it and try to reverse it, and then the story of Number 1, we may still see more about the twins' story directly or indirectly, but if you want to know, this year will probably only focus on this arc.
Considering that it is a monthly publication, then we have 12 chapters per year, it all depends on the size of the arc that will be developed. The arc of number 6 was long, we basically went 1 year without seeing Hanako.
So, even if we have a list of everything that will still happen, what determines the size of the arc is how it is developed.
While the arc of number 6 was very long, the arc of number 5 (Tsuchigomori) was very short, it was an arc of introduction of the character.
So my answer is that we cannot have a precise idea because it will depend on the development, however, I believe that there is still a lot ahead.
And about the ending, wow, I really have no idea! Aidairo is so unpredictable, literally anything can happen. But if we are to follow the anime's credits and what happened to the school when time advanced, the twins will probably "become one", with this entity and great destruction.
I talk a little about this here:
The possibilities:
Everyone dies
Nene sacrifices herself and saves the twins
Amane lets the illness he had as a child develop and Tsukasa wouldn't have sacrificed himself.
Amane accepts that Tsukasa sacrifices himself and lives his life.
Reincarnation (I don't know if it's possible in this universe, but I don't want to rule it out)
Hanako does something terrible, but manages to make Tsukasa and Nene stay with him in a controversial way.
Of all the situations, I believe in 6, because Amane is not the type to easily give up on the person he loves and is capable of doing something terrible to have the one he loves by his side.
For a neutral ending: They go back in time and completely destroy the entity, without the entity, nothing bad happens, but in this case, Nene and Amane will not be together, Amane will probably die of the disease and only Tsukasa will be left. (assuming he doesn't take his own life in the process, which could also happen.)
For a positive ending:
Let's imagine that Amane got sick because of the entity (it's a hypothesis) so, if they go back in time and destroy the entity, the twins will live normally, but in that case, Amane will be too old to have a romantic relationship with Nene, but at least he and his brother will be happy and Nene will live her life normally.
For an even more positive ending, everyone would die and be reincarnated, so they would live together normally.
Negative ending:
The entity inside Hanako breaks free, he loses control and destroys everything, Nene tries to stop Hanako, but since he is not under control, he kills her, Kou will have to exorcise Hanako, a promise he made at the beginning of the manga and I think that this is not here for nothing.
Tumblr media
Kou will be the only one who does this, Tsukasa lost the seal to make Hanako weaker, and before Kou exorcises Hanako, Amane will realize that he destroyed everything he loves and had neither Nene nor Tsukasa, and he himself asks to be exorcised.
Probably, only Kou will be left among all of these.
I only gave a few endings, there are many other possibilities.
