I'm fantasizing about a Jane Austen-y lace pullover for my Zegue-Along class in a few weeks! I suspect I have spring fever. These 5 swatches test 3 sport weight yarns of 3 brands and fibers, S vs Z yarn ply twist, and with 3 hook sizes. Details on my DesigningVashtiDOTcom blog later today. . #crochetclass #crocheteveryday #crochetteacher #yarn #yarntesting #swatchesfordays #euroflax #designingvashtilotus #tunisiancrochet #lace #crochetlace #springfashion #springcrochet https://www.instagram.com/p/CcNvZz5rlPQ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

So, I got a bunch of hemp yarn to make a sweater out if and I wanted to see how washing would go, so I made three swatches! . Top: No washing. It's stiff and crunchy, and the stitches are all wonky-looking and loose. 0/10, do not recommend wearing as a sweater (or any garment, really). Good for reusable shopping bags and the like. . Middle: Machine wash cold, gentle cycle; tumble dry low. Less stiff, still a bit crunchy, but the stitches have sorted themselves out and look much better. 5/10, maybe wear, maybe use as a display piece. . Bottom: Machine wash hot, normal cycle; tumble dry hot. SOFT!!! The stitches have sorted themselves out and look great, the fabric has nice drape and movement, only shrunk by virtue of the stitches getting themselves in order, and really not that much at all. 8/10, do recommend for sweaters, though I have felt softer fabrics. . . . . . . #yarn #yarntest #swatch #swatches #swatchtest #washtest #hempyarn #knitting #knit #crafting #yarnart #fiberart #diy https://www.instagram.com/p/B4s_FNlHUB7/?igshid=wp4ddih91cme
