Former Tumblr user @yanderechacha , save me please. This fandom fandom has so little yandere content (and it's typically only of Five) that it makes my heart cold. Please come back to me.
Here's a link to their old AO3 that was reposted

Stranger Things 4 Theory
yesterday on twitter the Stranger Things writers released the title of 4x01 which is “The Hellfire Club” so for the past nine hours about, I have been unnecessarily researching the hellfire club—both the Marvel X-Men version, as well as the historical version, and I am thoroughly immersed in the historical one, despite the fact that it’d be more likely if ST4 just connects it with comics considering the party enjoys comics because they are nerds. Here is a messy summary of information I have gathered as it pertains to the hellfire clubs:
Historical
The hellfire club is a British/Irish cult that nobody knows exactly when it started, and some say it dates all the way back to when Julius Caesar first bedded his wife, but the first KNOWN date recorded of it was the early 18th century. Two years after word spread, it got banned by British parliament—it must have scared them to great amounts to have it banned in just two years, but the thing is nothing happened and it continued, possibly because they were just that afraid of it. They were known for drinking blood, pouring blood on them, eating cats, practicing satanic rituals, orgies, burning people, ‘deflowering’ virgins(...), using the backs of women as tables, greeting people in the nude, literally getting away with murder, having a baboon which they sometimes dressed as Machiavelli as a mascot, playing ruthless pranks on each other, valuing mischief and chaos, and more dastardly things. Rumour has it that a cat with red eyes and the size of a Dalmatian haunts one of the buildings known where some of the meetings use to take place, and that a man once was welcomed in because of his curiosity to see what the club was about, and was found wandering aimlessly on a mountain both “dumb and deaf” the next day. AND THE CLUB STILL GOES ON TODAY but nobody really knows much about it except that they know of two slightly but only that the meetings take place somewhere in Ireland. The possibly strangest part about this, is that all the members are/were well known politicians and influencers. Benjamin Franklin, even, was an unofficial member of the club, and presumably—according to historians, a spy. There isn’t much in depth info on the clubs, as in 1774 almost all documents in relations to it, got mysteriously burned.
if they go with the route of the historical hellfire club and connect the time stuff to going back in time to the old hellfire conspiracist club, than maybe that’s when the first known account of the upside down and/or powers like eleven and eight were known of, or maybe these people who dabbled in satanism are the real causes of the first cases of the inter-dimensional rifts to the upside down.

Marvel/X-Men
This is probably honestly the more likely version, because it’s known that The Party enjoys comic books. The hellfire club made its first comic book appearance in Uncanny X-Men #129 on January of 1980. It is based off of the historical version, but with a mutant-focused twist, so you can gather based on the information prior to this what they were like. They also were focused heavily on in the series The Gifted (cancelled.) It’s possible that this is mainly connected to Eleven, Eight, another new character, or even Will, because of the X-Men character dubbed ‘The Phoenix’ aka Jean Grey who on a rescue mission in space, was traumatized by a quote “mysterious cosmic force” and upon returning home, began to lose control, and turned against her previous allies. Check quotes made by @titans4evr @yanderechacha and maybe more later on this post for a more in depth and good explanation in regards to the fictional hellfire club.
It’s also possible though that the subject of the hellfire club has nothing to do with the plot line whatsoever, and it’s just the name of a comic that‘ll make a cameo at some point in the first episode.
