⬛️There is definitely lingering guilt in those black eyes as the Wizard knows that even if his Curse doesn’t work on you, he’s still taken your life away from you. Any normalcy and familiarity has been ripped away from you in favor of quenching his selfish desires. His love is just like his magic, black and all-consuming. He longs for your company, he longs for your love, he longs to be able to show vulnerability when with you, to trust you and find comfort in you for his tragic destiny. Wishes that have been long locked away but resurfaced when he discovered that you were able to withstand his magic and showed him kindness, before the whole abduction of course. That’s how you’ve indirectly been cursed too, cursed to be stuck with an immortal lover who will never let you leave his side.

⬛️Instead you tag along on his long journeys where nothing can harm you under Zeref’s watchful eyes. Plans to escape have been long abandoned since you know that he turns unstable when he can’t find you which is bound to lead to an outburst of his dark magic. You don’t want to trigger such a dreadful event that would kill all life surrounding him except you which would leave you in the aftermath of destruction and death with an enraged yet frantic Zeref rushing to you to see if you’ve been hurt, red eyes glaring scarily at you. He’s never hurt you and he never would, you know that but you also know what he’s capable off and how far he’d be willing to go for you which keeps you from straying away from him.

⬛️Yet there’s also pity that you feel for this man and that guilt only grows the longer you’re stuck with him as you see him more for the lonely and suffering man he is. If he has no reason to be emotionally distressed, the fearsome wizard is a mere clingy and insecure boy who wants affection of which he’s been deprived off for so many years. His long life has gifted him plenty of knowledge which he gladly shares with you if you’re curious about anything, he’s such a great listener as you could talk about nonsense and he’d still listen intently, content with just hearing your voice. His attempts in courting are clumsy yet adorable as you realize that he’s genuinely trying his best despite the situation you’re in because of him. Your feelings remain hidden though as you’re unwilling to forgive him for what he’s done to you as you cling to the grudge you intend to hold.

⬛️Zeref has gotten used to sleeping very little as his curse won’t allow him to die in either case so he spends nights often just getting lost in his thoughts. You’ve amplified the turmoil of thoughts for him yet he insists for you to lay together at nights in favor of the closeness he wants. That’s how he becomes witness of the secret you don’t want him to know but he stays perfectly still despite the fact that he feels his heart picking up it’s pace and warmth filling the aching hole inside his chest. He keeps on pretending until he knows that you’re back to sleeping before he pushes his body closer to yours, mulling your words over in his head. He never lets you know that he heard you that night, content enough to know for now that you deep down love him. He should be able to manipulate your feelings somehow if the knowledge of your feelings alone isn’t enough anymore.

Sigma

☁️Sigma, for the lack of a better word, is a mess. You’d have never guessed that a visit in the Sky Casino would end with you permanently stuck there, all because of the man with the bi-colored hair, the owner of this place. You know that there is guilt in him, you just know it and you’ve tried multiple times to use that guilt against him, to convince him to free you yet he always changes the topic. It’s as if he doesn’t want to have this discussion, doesn’t want to hear from you that he’s taken away everything from you. Instead he adorns you with presents and gifts as if trying to change your mind.

☁️Because what you don’t seem to understand is that whilst he’s taken everything away from you, you’ve given him everything. All questions he’s ever had, you’re the answer to all of them. His doubts, his persistent insecurities about his own existence are solved because of your presence. He has finally found a meaning in life as he sees his existence as your lover. You make him a someone but unfortunately you deny him that as you don’t return his feelings which has Sigma turning frantic with passing time, Please, please just acknowledge him once! Don’t just treat him like he’s air!

☁️Sigma shares his own thoughts and insecurities very openly with you. He does so because it’s important for him that you hear about his feelings in hopes that you might understand him better. So you find naturally out about his very unique life that one day just started. He was thrown into this world without any guidance and you begin to understand his struggles more as you can sympathize with some of his thoughts. Sigma is struggling, he always is but everything regarding you will be done with his utmost concentration and energy. He memorizes everything about you to be able to make your new home more comfortable, if you’re feeling unwell he barely rests as he’s constantly worried for you and you know that he’d never harm a hair on your head. He’s always giving 110% for you and anything you ask him for, as long as it doesn’t include leaving him.

☁️It’s rare for him to sleep as he’s workaholic and often too stressed to fall asleep in the first place. That changes when he’s next to you because your presence is soothing for the anxious male. His sleep still is bumpy though as he tends to wake up a lot which is why he hears your words, words that nearly make him choke on his own breath. He’s doing his best to remain still although his body is slightly trembling as a flood of emotions crashes down on him. He feels like he could cry but bites down on his wobbly lip to silence himself, your sleep is more important. As soon as he’s sure that you’re back to sleeping though, he turns around and presses his forehead against your back with tears in his eyes. You don’t know how much those words mean to him because you’ve just admitted that you love him. That’s all he wants, all he needs. Your confession has filled him with new hope, new determination that he hasn’t failed completely in life.

Tokito Muichiro

🌫️With Muichiro you might as well converse with a wall and would have probably better chances than with the Mist Hashira. Why? Because Muichiro never budges, no matter how hard you may try. So stuck is he in his belief that he needs to protect you because of demons, especially if you're anything under a Hashira and even then would he still keep on thinking this way. In all honesty, it is so exhausting and worst of all is that his aloof expression so rarely changes which makes you believe all the more that he doesn't take you seriously. Perhaps in some way or form Muichiro truly does look down on you as he labels you as weak.

🌫️After the return of his memories you would expect him to become a bit better but instead he only grows clingy and paranoid. He's lost his entire family which makes you the only person alive he cherishes and loves and this knowledge blows his behavior out of bounds. He may express his emotions a tad bit better now but it doesn't help you in the least as his delusions get even worse. What was previously just the mere belief that you need him to protect you since he's a Hashira whilst you're weak now is a dedication to only truly protect you as he would without a doubt choose to save you over an entire village of humans. In the end you gained nothing as you're still stuck in the house he keeps you in, only that Muichiro now is at least more semi-aware of the situation but ultimately too paranoid to let you go.

🌫️At least it doesn't feel like you're talking to a stone anymore after his memories have returned as he actually initiates small talk and interactions between you two instead of expecting you to come to him and show your gratitude and affection. By all means, he can return to his cold and distant demeanor any time but now there's almost an innocent and bashful side to him, one that makes you question if this is how he used to be as a child before joining the Hashira. Even in his normally more aloof form can he be more affectionate, grabbing your hands in his own calloused ones and bringing you wild flowers or little presents whenever he returns from home. Does it help you forget everything he has done to you? Absolutely not but his new attitude slowly infects you with romantic feelings for him.

🌫️It's probably a result of all of his Hashira training but Muichiro has an unusual level of awareness of his surroundings even when he's asleep and that's why he hears your silent confession, accompanied by the soft kiss you give him only to turn back around in order to fall back asleep. Perhaps that's why you don't notice the way his normally hazy blue eyes clear up all of a sudden, stare wide-eyed into the darkness of the night. It's a look filled with such astonishment and wonder, perhaps something that he hasn't felt since his carefree days as a child. Muichiro is happy in that moment. Your heart on the other hand drops when he turns around moments later to cuddle closer to you as you realize that he's heard what you just said. He doesn't say anything about it that night nor the days afterwards but you fear that he's taken your words as a confirmation that you do feel happy and loved under his protection.

Mei Mei

💴​Mei Mei is an openly selfish woman and she admits that to her darling from the very beginning. Her darling is such an odd case in the woman's life who so far has seen only material things and money as the most important thing in her life. Whilst she is still looking forward to the potential of people around her and can recognize said potential of such people, there has never been a specific individual who has ever meant more to her. Perhaps that's what spikes her interest so much in you when she starts recognizing her growing feelings for you from a relatively early point on. Perhaps it is that fascination that is ultimately your demise as she decides to keep such a precious darling such as you as you have a worth to you she never anticipated. An emotional worth.

💴​You can not escape her. Her Black Bird Manipulation allows her to have eyes quite possibly everywhere, her brother Ui Ui is absolutely devoted to her and whilst jealous of you because Mei Mei treasures you so much willing to help her to please her and make her happy and then there's the fact that this woman is dirty, dirty rich and money rules after all. The Jujutsu Sorcerer is so condescending whenever you try to outsmart her and escape her, an amused scoff on her beautiful face as she belittles and berates you for thinking that she'd ever let you leave. For thinking that you had a chance in the first place. Why would you even want to work so hard when you can just lean back and let her spoil you rotten as her darling lover.

💴​You're infuriated with her and don't even want all of her presents that much but weirdly enough there's something about Mei Mei that still manages to captivate you. She has a mysterious charm on her, one that makes your heart flutter despite your firm decision to not give in to her. She's a true master of small touches and words, gestures that make your heartbeat pick up it's speed and despite her arrogant impression at times, you know that she is capable of being kind to others, especially to you. You're special for her and you can't deny that little ego boost you receive because of that knowledge. Your emotions get so confused with time as the feeling of her hands brushing against your cheeks and her cool voice with that edge of a teasing lilt always make you feel something you don't want to feel for her. No matter how big her home may be and no matter how much money she spends on you, a cage is still a cage after all.

💴​You wouldn't fully know but Mei Mei has noticed how your walls have started to crumble for quite a while now, noticed the bashful gaze of yours or the heat radiating off of your face. She's a woman who has planned ahead and has worked patiently to get you where you are. So your quiet confession accompanied by the kiss on her cheek aren't anything unexpected but she would by lying if she would claim that it doesn't cause her to grin victoriously and delightfully. She doesn't see the need to let you know that she knows though because truth be told, she enjoys seeing you trying to deny your ever-growing feelings for her. She has already almost reached her goal after all so she can afford to sit back and watch you struggling with your love for her. Your words have still pleased her nonetheless and you notice that she seems to be in a exceptionally good mood after that night.

A Juvia fact.

is that some of us ( cough cough antis) might think that Juvia doesn't care about her friends as much as she cares about Gray, which can be true sometimes because she loves him so much that sometimes she doesn't care but actually, Juvia does care about her friends , usually her unconditional love towards Gray is usually portrayed as comedy and nothing much.

the only serious romantic moments they had with each other is when Gray showed a serious concern or reaction towards her, for example when he saved her from the small dragons that shoot beaming lights and was about to speak to her about their situation but he died for a second and then forgot about it (stupid dragons).

However,Juvia Lockser does show care for her friends, she is an empath, she cries easily when it comes to a sad story (like when Mavis was telling them her story with Zeref), she is shown as a person who would give her life for her friends like that one time with Cana when she transformed herself into water and got an electeric shock just because she'd rather hurt herself than her friend, and keep in mind that they knew each other for a few weeks or less.

one of the main points that shows that Juvia isn't selfish, and who would kill innocent girls/Love rivals ,for Gray like some people assume, is with her fight in Tenrou Island with Meredy, the girl straight up said that she will kill Gray, and Juvia wasn't having it, so she became madly strong ( and that's also because feelings improve her powers) and fought her withought sweating.

if the claims about Juvia being a bloodthirsty fan girl or what some label it as Yandere in Japanese or Saesang in Korean, then she would have killed her right then, but no, Juvia limping from a broken leg, stood up and looked straight at her eyes and told her "if you have love, then you got to live", she gave Meredy a reason to keep on going, and it was love. some call it cheesy, or cringe or corny, only because those people don't know what love is, or are emotionally contisipated.

Love is important to Juvia, which makes her a unique character, she didn't end Meredy's life, she saved her life instead, she was mad but Juvia saw herself in that little girl, and she didn't want to squash her values just because she threatened to kill the love of her life, she thought maybe this little girl is scared, maybe she finds her life worthless, like she did before.

we can say that Gray was an inspiration, when he saved her life back then, and the sun hit her eyes, she realized that life is not meaningless if you have love to give, if you have someone waiting for you.

So Juvia isn't a Yandere, she might give that misunderstanding characteristics just because she is defensive against Lucy, but that's also for comedy and nothing much, it is shown that Juvia appreciates Lucy as her friend ( and we need more moments with these two fr).

Juvia Lockser is a very strong character, she has so much potential (and i still cling to the possibility of Mashima opening his eyes and realising that so he can reveal that potential)

When he first met you, he was expecting you to die away along with everything else. But you were still there and like that, it seemed like he could finally see the stars shimmering in the night sky. You… were his stars, his light in this darkness of what he calls a life.

He didn’t hesitate to take you away, he’s lived alone and in hidden for so long that he’ll know how to hide you easily. Zeref will always make sure you’re safe, he knows how to protect you and he wouldn’t hesitate to kill a n y o n e who gets close to where you’re hidden.

There was no escape from this man, so it was better for you to just accept it. He never hurt you physically, but that doesn’t mean that he won’t hurt you psychologically. Whatever low tactics he’ll use to keep you, he wouldn’t hesitate to use them. Guilt tripping, gaslighting, even threatening his own life, the whole nine yards.

I feel like Zeref would be both a possessive and obsessive yandere. ☠️It doesn’t matter whether or not you’re a childhood friend who survived the outburst of his death magic or perhaps you were one of Mavis’ friends? Maybe even a fellow guild mate of Natsu, and you run into Zeref on Tenrou Island? The circumstances of your meeting doesn’t matter. All you need to know is that if you meet him, and he falls for you, he’ll fall hard and fast and by then it’s too late to avoid his attention, especially if somehow you’re immune to his magic. ☠️ He always needs to know where you are, be it through spies, his minions, the etherious he creates, though he prefers to watch you himself. ☠️ He won’t make it very long without kidnapping you, he can’t live without you in his arms at all times. ☠️ A way you can tell this poor boy is mad maybe even furious at you is to watch his eyes?? Black? Usually for any emotion but angry. Black w/red or just fucking red?? Apologize, beg, grovel, etc... ☠️That said he would never hurt you physically. But he may do some mental/emotional punishments. He wouldn’t dare withhold food or water but locking you in your shared room isn’t above him. Emotional would be along the lines of him avoiding you, thinking that you crave to have him by your side too but really you’re just happy he avoids you for a couple of hours or days. ☠️ As far as jealousy goes, it’s never you. It’s always others. They’re always flirting with you, tainting your innocence or filling your head with futile ideas of freedom, he’s all you need. ☠️ He would never force himself on you, but he will manipulate you to like him eventually. He’s like a platonic familial yandere brother for natsu so he can have you, his brother, and Lucy for his brother while the rest of the world burns. ☠️ He honestly loves the idea of a family but, well, his curse ya know. ☠️ This nerd probably looks to books when he’s lacking at a certain knowledge. Probably looks up more ways to be romantic. ☠️ Speaking of books he has a library if you got a thirst for books then good for you. ☠️ This boy is a Vers. He’s a neutral bottom, either of you can take lead. If he tops, he’s a bit shy at first, but once he gets really into it he’s not necessarily dirty talking but pointing out your reactions like “you jumped when I touched here” or “the more my finger rubs the more wet you get, you like it. It’s okay to admit it.” ☠️ He’s definitely a virgin the first time, like he knows what to do but he’s never practiced it. ☠️ Get him really riled up and call him daddy, that’s also a tactic to use when he’s angry. Happy Birthday Akira Ishida! (Nov 2)

This is mostly taken from the post I made for him last year, but I added some roles and videos which are fun!

He’s a veteran voice actor who’s quite reserved. He’s so popular that he refuses roles but tries to not look rude. According to Aoi Yuuki, even though she recorded multiple scenes with Akira Ishida for Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, she never talked to him. Sugita just replied, “It’s like that for everyone.” When some new girls were introducing himself, he just replied, “Ah, it’s fine, I’m not gonna remember anyway” Nakamura (who was there) said, “ He said that like he was rejecting them!” Even the Gintama cast (Rie Kugimiya and Sugita) had a hard time inviting him for udon after recording. And speaking of Gintama, when recording the Shinsengumi Crisis arc, a cast member asked him to bring him a coffee pod to which he responded, “Go to hell!” Ironically, that character later died that arc anyway. He doesn’t sing his character songs anymore since he doesn’t think it’s good enough for people to actually pay money for. But he can rely on his good friend Hoshi Souichirou; it’s even said that he won’t go to a party unless his friend is present. A lot of seiyuu look up to him including Miyuki Sawashiro, Sakurai Takahiro, Yuki Kaida, Masaya Onosaka, Aoi Shouta, and Mai Nakahara.

Yandere Boys Part 2

 Another one of my baes Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail 

Hes a pyro you don’t wanna mess with or underestimate when it comes to protecting his friends, his guild but mostly Lucy evidence below:

mostly all started with the Phantom Lord Arc

He overhears Gajeel who was with Phantom Lord that time a rival guild of Fairy Tail mentioning Lucy and saying shes been captured.

The rest of his guildmates all retreated but after hearing they have taken Lucy he and Happy remain behind grabbed a phantom member and yes wanted to talk yea with those eyes he wanted to do more than just talk 😂

He dragged the member along with Happy tagging along till the phantom member guy tells Natsu where they are keeping Lucy he even threatens to burn him to ash if they even so harm her yeah you don’t wanna mess with this guy 😏

After rescuing her Phantom Lord came and Gajeel takes her and was beating her up only till Natsu blasted threw the floor and to finish his fight with Gajeel for trying to take Lucy away and even beating her up and yes destroying the guild and harming his fellow guildmates it was thanks to Lucy’s new spirit giving him fire he was able to win against Gajeel.

In Edolas Arc after he and Wendy were captured and thrown into a cell and Lucy is seperate from them as soon as Hughes mention Lucy was gonna be executed since they have no use for her he clings onto the cage with those eyes and threatens to burn him to ashes if he even so lays a finger on her.

In Eclipse Arc in the 2014 series Lucy was kidnapped by the royal army to be used as part of the eclipse project to go back 400 years to kill Zeref and Natsu sacrificed the last day of the tournament to go save Lucy then to participate.

Future Lucy who came through the gate told them whats going to happen on the same day and he promises he’ll protect the future.

But Future Rogue who also came through the gate from 7 years in the future came back to kill the person responsible for closing the gate and it was Lucy so hes out to kill her but as his arrow was aiming towards her, her future self took the hit and died soon after after witnessing someone he really cares about dying in front of him he got all furious on Future Rogue and yep as you see here.

In the filler arc the eclipse celestial spirit arc he sees Lucy being tortured by her celestial spirits only they have changed due to the effects from the eclipse gate and he can’t stand by and watch her getting beaten up he wanted to jump in but Lucy told him not too since they are her spirits and she has to handle it but this part also proves hes still traumatized over Future Lucy’s death then he cast a big fireball and threw it at Virgo to stop her from attacking Lucy.

Yandere Zeref Dragneel Hc’s

Going with the assumption his darling somehow is immune against his curse!

⬛️We will start with labeling him as a very possessive and protective Yandere. Sounds ridiculous because honestly, his s/o needs protection from him. But that's obviously something Zeref doesn't want to happen, he has spent hundreds of years alone so finding someone who is able to be near him without dying and being someone who happens to have showed him kindness, has something awakening in the Black Wizard. Being with him is not always the safest way, he tends to cross paths with some rather scary beings. Zeref still isn't called the strongest mage alive for nothing, he won't let anything or anyone take his darling away from him. Seeking isolation himself, that counts for you as well and makes him a very isolating Yandere as well. Despite the calm impression he might awake, Zeref is a very obsessive and clingy man.

⬛The years of isolation got through him the one or another way, but having a person he loves and can touch and express affection with without his curse interfering causes him to be over the borderline of desperate. He wants interaction and contact and his attempts can come over as pushy, much more if the s/o chooses to ignore him. He constantly tries to talk with them, asks about their life and tries to do something with them. Literally just anything and even if he proves his own share of patience, he can get mad if he is ignored for too long. Goes out as the semi-aware Yandere. It really isn't like he can ignore the fact that he brings havoc and suffering onto the life of yourse, but he is just plainly selfish since he has been in pain for so much longer than anyone else. He deserves hapiness as well, doesn't he? Even if he tries it a more normal way, he does not scare away from emotional blackmailing and threatening either. It's eiter his tragic past or the life of other people.

⬛️Who exactly is he supposed to be jealous of when there is no one around anyways? Animals? Taking his darling under people is something that goes dangerously close to being impossible. Let us be honest here, his darling will most likely try to ask for help and them spoiling who he is would be the cause of an unpleasant turmoil, he doesn't trust them in regards of this. On his travels he might happen to bump into people whilst with his darling, but he always gives them a silent glare that warns them to keep their mouth shut and time with such persons is cut short significantly before he drags his s/o away once again. So animals might just be the most realistic choice for him to get jealous about. To a certain degree he accepts it that you need to have someone else to do something with, but he hates it to be ignored or replaced.

⬛️Due to his emotionally fragile state sometimes it just happens and you had to witness countless such abrupt outbursts of his where Zeref was always for a while after on a level where he wanted and needed to be comforted. And with you as the only one that could survive with him, he has pretty much only you to rely on. Still a very vengeful soul who will punish those who attempted to harm the s/o in the past or inflicted pain onto them. In his eyes a sin too big to atone for with anything else than death itself and he is misanthropic to begin with. It's really just another frightening fact that he uses against his darling to keep them away from society. He is a literal walking menace for others, intentially or not.

⬛️It happens surprisingly fast for him to fall for his darling, even if he does try to close his heart. The mere fact that you are healed and not affected by the Curse of Contradictions alone is a miracle he never expected to ever meet and showing him kindness and friendliness only sucks him deeper into a black whole in which he'll pull you in as well. It really doesn't matter if you were a childhood friend of his who was the sole survivor due to your magic, one of Mavis friends or someone he met in Natsu's time in Fairy Tail, the decision to kidnap you afterwards is made quickly. As is the plan formed into action. He expects his darling to be terrified of him, he got this reaction too often to hope for anything else. But he'll emphazize the point that he will chase them down every time they try to run away from him.

⬛️Zeref will find a way to make you the one or another way immortal, he's studied enough magic to find a way somehow. In his empire Alvarez you will be introduced at one point as well the next time he will visit the continent and the Spriggan 12 will be ordered with the demand to protect you with their lives if he should be separated from you somehow. That actually happens very rarely unless Zeref is confronted in a direct battle and doesn't want you to be hit by any spell. He attempts to do nice things, so credit for that. But it's hard for him to give his darling any sense of normality with the withered flowers he picks for you or doing something he interprets as romantic in a forest surrounded by death. Romantic interactions isn't a specialty of his, not when he hasn't been under people for decades.

Fairy Tail Chapter 537 Review

I feel like I have brought upon the storm that I was trying to avoid. While the last chapter has people all riled up to rampage, this chapter is arguably a continuation. Truth be told, it was a rare moment that I decided to check on the spoiler and before I even got to look at the pages, the comment made me begin singing Doraemon theme song. After the chapter released, I can say that while it depends on your view on a specific pairing, I find the chapter to be decent, only to hit a wall of absurdity.

This chapter is like the prime definition of mixed bag. Reviews are a form of opinions from one or two people; meaning what I think can truly differ from yours. I'm explaining this because it is up to your mind whether you judge this chapter for the desire that you wish to have. My explanation on my issues with the chapter may not sync well with yours.

As the last chapter brought in tons of negative feedback because of its decision for its grandest battles, this chapter is arguably not as bad, though let's go over the good part. Mavis and Zeref took nearly entire chapter to themselves as it draws the definitive conclusion to his character. If you don't like the pairing, this would really put you off; otherwise, you may like this a lot. As neutral I look at this, I would say it's decent.

What I like about is how it manages to play off as a tragic character story closing its tale. Mavis has to take the most difficult task: to end Zeref for good in which has Mavis struggled to make a move. The idea behind it is her love for him will always exist, so it has her broken and suffer the curse that Zeref has gone through.

Mavis' struggling with her mind was rather good, showcasing that Zeref is not the only person suffer the curse. It does have that vibe of broken hearted person killing his/her lover to end misery. It reminds me of another manga that I can't say since it is a huge giveaway, but know that it was written well and made the moment more special. The question is if it was done well here.

It all comes back to full circle, with Mavis being the start and end point. Realistically, Mavis didn't want him to die but he has to be punished, so I was fine with that conclusion. It's a tragic yet "happy" ending that to save the world, both must disappear from the face of the planet.

The art is drawn neatly well and how good it sequences the sanity of Mavis with Zeref. I sort of wished that characteristic was there in the first place, and I mean more of its portrayal. That would actually leave you guessing rather than playing safe. There's some neat drawing on the significant panel, including the two lovers not leaving each other's side ever again. I guess instead of "I want you to help me to live," it's to die. Good to know.

I want to say that the whole Mavis and Zeref was really good and if you like the pairing, that's perfectly fine. I just have some issues with few points that I want to address. For starters, the dialogues, mainly towards the end, are rather a bit tacky. Mavis comes off playing like Helga from Hey Arnold! with its back or forth wish, or a yandere. I didn't mind much since she was meant to be insane, so that's fine. The morale of love conquers all could have said in a less tacky approach. I understand the concept of the series, but the choice of words could have handled more effective.

Next, the solution to die in peace as a mortal is basically getting love like a kiss, and that feels cheap. They have already done that technically, so why start now. I get that Mavis got the idea from the battle against Jacob, but the solution is off from something that was already established. I guess you can argue that it depends on the kiss, like who approaches first and what not. I don't know; it's confusing as it implies that it's making the rules as it progress.

Lastly, as much as this is a sweet moment for those two, the background behind it is lackluster, though not necessarily on the pairing, more so with Zeref. While he admits defeat, the fact he got defeated in a normal fashion and carries off without any more input towards to the protagonist doesn't feel sweet justice. It feels like another arc to be taken care, yet this is the finale. It's similar to other series where the moment does portrayed as a sad and tragic moment, but the background and beforehand don't translate all that well. The pairing is fine in a sense, it's just the main villain is ending on a whimper.

The strange part is how much Fairy Heart has contributed to this arc and it barely left anything remarkable. It's entirely filler. That part actually makes it hard to comprehend. You can say that this chapter could be decent on its own, but the overall package would look bleak. Despite the iffy feeling with the conclusion of Zeref and Mavis, I did find it to be decent for its standalone moment, even if everything that leads to it doesn't work strongly. Then, Mashima decides to pull the big gun: Makarov is alive.

I respect fans that want him alive and happy that he is, but going by my view on the writing, this was really disappointing. I'm not hungry for deaths, but I am overstuffed with fake deaths. I'm not entirely sure if he was sleeping all this time or he was revived by Mavis and/or Zeref, but the fact that this guy cheated death over 3 times is baffling. Perhaps if they make it into a running gag, it would lessen the damage. Regardless, it damaged the sad moments that occurred throughout the arc, so now it begs the question: what's the point?

The only upside is how Laxus always remain calm until he sees his grandfather alive, breaking into tears. It would have been effective however if he arrives at the Guild home and begin to cry, finally giving in the thought of his grandfather has passed away. That would have got to me, but instead, we got this and all's well that ends well.

This chapter could be more divisive than the last chapter as this one does present a neat closure to Mavis and Zeref, though the big picture raises tons of disappointment, and the return of Makarov, all depends on the fans' desire to see him back or not. I wouldn't mind that much, have it not overdid the concept of fake deaths, let alone for Fairy Tail members. As the ending slowly approaches, it has to ignite the fire of excitement before it leaves us on a sour note.

My favs of 2016 Anime • Yuuri on Ice!!: Was there ever any doubt? This show is so positive!! • Fairy Tail Zero: An excellent backstory on my favorite immortals (besides Yato), Zeref and Mavis. • Blue Exorcist: Satan and daddy issues. Oh and Mephisto. • Seraph of the End: Broody anime protags with some awesome weaponry. Also Guren (who shares Mephisto's and Yato's voice actor!) • Noragami: Still need to finish this-- but great so far! • The Seven Deadly Sins: A show that was super different but also amazing- I hope they continue it. • Soul Eater NOT!!: A cute prequel to Soul Eater, but not a fan of the two Meister/One Weapon thing. • Mekakucity Actors: Some of the routes weren't addressed, but we got to see Kuroha~ • Akame ga Kill: Great, angsty show with great characters. Steponmeesdeath-- • Tokyo Ghoul: Didn't follow the manga, but the visuals and Unravel were great! • Kamisama Kiss: A really cute anime that I really wish they would finish! Games • Pokémon Sun/Moon: Of which I have both, really brought in diverse characters and Pokémon! • SSB4: Extremely fun game where I demolish people as Peach- • Fire Emblem Birthright/Conquest/Revelations: Extremely fun game and great characters. • Mystic Messenger: Still playing it, but seems fun so far! • Undertale: A bit late here, but still a progressive and fun game! • Seduce Me and Seduce Me 2: Fun dating sim with interesting, demonic characters. (And one of the characters is voiced (and the game itself was made) by Michaela Laws, an amazing VA who also does the voice for Yandere-chan.)
