-- Outskirts of Shinagawa --
[The time was approximately 6:00 P.M. The sun had set and night had enveloped the city of Shinagawa as it lit up like a Christmas tree in December. On the outskirts of the city, standing atop a large hill overlooking the city, a certain Bōsōzoku was leaning on her Yamaha motorcycle, drinking a soda whilst patiently waiting. The figure in question was none other Aranai Norikoru, the leader of Ueno Division's Sakurai Clan, who had a soft smile on her face as she took a sip of her drink.]
[The biker had been standing there for almost an hour now, but she wasn't bothered by it. Normally, she avoid wasting time and gas driving all the way to a place as dark and depressing as Shinagawa, but today was a special day. Oh yes, it was a special indeed. She had a certain surprise prepared for someone in the city. It had taken her almost a week and a half to get things prepared, but the time and effort was worth it. It was a shame she wasn't going to get to see the surprise on the person's face. She found it hard to suppress the glee on her face, as she softly chuckled.]
[After waiting for a more minutes, she felt the phone in her pocket vibrate as her ringtone went off. Looking at the caller ID on the screen, she smiled as it read 'Off the Chain', meaning it was her best friend, Kaba. Hitting the green 'accept' button, she put the phone to her ear.]
Aranai: Talk to me.
Kaba: Everything's in place.
Aranai: *Smiles a successful place* So you had no trouble? *Takes a sip of her drink*
Kaba: A couple of close calls, but nothing major.
Aranai: Nice work, babe. I owe you big time for this.
Kaba: You're damn right you do. Consider us square after this, you hear me?
Aranai: Yeah, yeah.
[Pressing the 'End Call' button, Aranai then went to her email app. After four lengthy minutes, she hit the send button on her phone, and looked with a smirk as the email was sent to its designated sender. Putting the phone back in its pocket, the biker turned, looking back out at the city, the smirk never leaving her face as she took another sip of her drink.]
She is soooo going to hate me for this...
-- Sumire's Lab Basement, Kobayashi Mansion --
[In the basement of her aunt's mansion, the now 18-year-old prodigy child, Sumire Shinomiya, was busy tinkering with something on her operating table. Normally, she'd have music playing from the sound systems in the corner of her laboratory, but the invention she was working on was extremely delicate, and it required absolute concentration, which meant she needed absolute silence.]
[With her safety goggles on, the mad genius had two wires in her hand as she was prepared to connect them to make a spark. However, at that exact moment, her cell phone went off, startling her as the circuits shocked her.]
Sumire: Ah! *Waves her right hand around* God-fuckin-damnit!
Goro: *From outside her door* Is everything quite alright, Ms. Sumire?
Sumire: *Still waving her hand* Tch, I'm fine, Goro. Thanks.
Goro: Very good, ma'am. *Walks back up the stairs*
[Rubbing her burnt hand with her left one, she looked as the wires she was using were now fried. Growling, she looked over to her cell phone, which was sitting on her computer desk.]
Sumire: *Scowling* I thought I silenced this damn thing.
[Picking her mobile device up, the teenager looked as it was an email from her friend and fellow anarchist, Aranai Norikoru.]
Sumire: *Rolls her eyes* This had better be important, Aranai.
[Clicking the email on her phone, she looked as it opened up, revealing a voicemail from her fair-weather friend.]
'Good evening, Diabla! How its feel to be a legal adult now? Knowing you, it probably doesn't mean diddly. You're probably in your lab working on some useless gadget right about now. I'm right, aren't I?'
Sumire: *Frowns* I don't know about useless, but I was working on something, you wench.
'Well, sorry to say, but I'm afraid I can't have one of my best friends doing absolutely nothing on her birthday. After all, you're only 18 once, ya' know!'
Sumire: *Rolls her eyes again* Would you hurry up and get to the point?
'Therefore, I've arranged a little surprise for you. Something I think you'll thoroughly enjoy very much! However, I've hidden it somewhere in Shinagawa, and its up to you to find it!'
Sumire: *Eyes grow wide* What?!
'Now, I know what you're thinking. Why the hell should I waste my time scavenging around the city for a measly birthday present?! Well, the thing is, you kind of have to. I'm calling in one of those favors you owe me, and this is it, so you can't really say no. And it'll be bad news if someone else comes across that thing before you do, so... yeah.'
Sumire: You bitch!
'Oh, don't give me that! I went out of my way to prepare this for you on your 18th birthday, for crying out loud! So don't give me any fuss!'
Sumire: *Growls* I'll show you 'fuss', you little...
'Anyway, your gift is hidden in the city somewhere, and its up to you to find it! But don't fret, your dear sweet friend, Aranai, has hidden some clues and riddles for you throughout the city to help you. I'm sure it should prove no problem for someone as intelligent as you. You're probably the smartest kid in Japan today... well, after Saburo that is.'
Sumire: Gee, thanks.
'Whelp, that's pretty much all for me. You should have received your first clue via a text by now. Good luck! ...Oh, and F.Y.I., I accept no responsibility for anything that may or may not happen to you whilst you search for the riddles.'
Sumire: What?!
[But the recording soon ended, leaving a text message in its place with the only a sentence behind...]
Riddle 1: 'At SIS, kids await for the clock to strike three. For your first clue, my friend, look for the room that has the "key".'
Sumire: ...Seriously?
[For a minute, the little anarchist contemplated whether to saying to hell with this, and getting back to work on her now ruined project. But after thinking about it, she realized that Aranai had gone out of her way to plan this for her. ...And as much as she hated to admit it, Sumire had gotten out of many tough jams because of her biker friend. She argued back forth with herself before groaning out loud.]
Sumire: Aw, to hell with it.
[Quickly changing into some appropriate attire for walking, the little genius grabbed her jacket from the coat rack and walked out her laboratory, and soon, out the front door of her aunt's mansion.]
Sumire: This 'gift' had better be worth this.
[As the girl began walking to her destination, she was unaware that she was currently being watched by someone, who spoke into a yellow radio.]
???: Target's on the move.
Two and a half hours later...
[To say Sumire was pissed would be a complete understatement. She had ran all throughout the city, locating all the clues that Aranai had hid, and she was tired and ready for this to be over and done with. Truthfully, it wasn't the clues that were bothering her. She enjoyed the game; it was almost like a challenge. What she didn't like was all this needless running around and the fact that the clues were hidden in places that attracted to much attention.]
Sumire: How the hell did she manage to get a note into Miho's office anyway?!
[Grumbling, she quickly ducked into a nearby alley as a cop was passing by on the street. She already had a bad reputation with the cops to begin with, but after one of her clues forced her to disrupt a horse race at Oi Racetrack, it was obvious that she was on their shit-list again. As the cop bypassed her, she let out a sigh.]
Sumire: Aranai, I swear, if this 'gift' of yours isn't a particle accelerator or something, I'm sending Aiko to hurt you next chance I get.
[Sighing once more, she took the paper that had the riddle out of her pocket and looked as it read:]
Riddle 5: 'I bet by now you're filling pretty grim. No worries; your gift is waiting for you inside the gym.'
Sumire: The gym?
[Sighing, she stuffed the clue back into her pocket as she began traversing through the alleyways, to the gymnasium since walking on the street carried with it risks.]
-- Shinagawa Gym --
[10 minutes later, the young anarchist found herself in front of the Shinagawa Gym. She had only been her once after her dear, sweet aunt had forced her to come here to work out for the day. She grimaced just thinking about. The building lights were on but no one was inside, meaning the place was closed, for which Sumire was grateful. Pushing the door, she was surprised to find it unlocked. Walking into the entrance, she looked as, on the wall, were some crudely drawn arrows.]
Sumire: I assume those are for me...
[Sighing, she began following them as they led her to the Men's Locker Rooms, making her crease her forehead. On the door was a sign that said, 'It's in here!', which didn't exactly help matters.]
Sumire: Damn it, Aranai...
[Pushing the door open, she looked around before entering, grateful that no one was inside. Walking in, she noticed that the arrows were pointing to three lockers situated side-by-side in the very back of the room. The one in the left had the number '1' written on it, with the one in the middle having '2' on it, and the one on the right having '3'.]
Sumire: So, my gifts are inside there then?
[Walking to the first locker, she pulled it open and looked as inside was a short black Gothic Lolita dress with some black gladiator heels at the bottom, along with some stockings. Surprised, the anarchist took it off the hanger. Placing it over her shirt and looking at herself in a mirror, she nodded.]
Sumire: Not bad. She knows my style, that's for sure.
[Placing the dress back on the hanger in the locker, she walked to the second locker in the middle, opening it. Looking inside, she was slightly annoyed not to see anything until she looked behind the door to see a white envelope taped on it. Ripping it off, it felt heavy in her hands. Curious, she opened it and her eyes grew wide as inside of it was a large wade of cash. Counting it, the sum of it came out to be $300.]
Sumire: *Putting the envelope in her pocket* I'm not going to question where she got this money from.
[Now feeling a bit more excited, she headed for the third and last locker, prepared to open it. However, she stopped as she heard something inside of it. ...Was... was there a person inside?! Preparing to open it, she stopped as her cell phone vibrated. Pulling it out of her pocket, she looked at the screen as it was a text from, of course, Aranai.]
Aranai: 'Don't do anything I wouldn't do! 😜'
Sumire: *Frowning* What?
[Shaking her head, not in the mood to deal with her friend right now, she put the phone back in her pocket, and went back to her previous task of opening the locker. As she did...]
...
...
Sumire: ...What the?
[It was as if all time had stopped for the young scientist as she looked at her last ''gift', which was making her face red and hot. Inside the last locker, was none other than Jiro Yamada in nothing save his undergarments. The teenager had his head off to side as he was sleeping, drool escaping his mouth, making its way down the side of his face. How Aranai managed to get him in this state, in this position was unknown.]
[Still slightly confused and turning red, she noticed something on the back of the locker door. Another envelope, similar to the one from the last locker. However, this one felt relatively light compared to the last envelope. Still in a daze, she pulled it off the locker and opened it. Turning it over, she looked as something fell out. Picking it up, she looked at it closely, before her mouth fell open, as in her hand was an unopened condom.]
[Before she could make a sound or do something, she looked as inside the locker, Jiro was starting to stir. Smacking his lips, he blinked as he tried to grow aware of his surroundings.]
Jiro: Ahhh... h-huh? S-sumire?
[Blinking, the middle Yamada brother stretched, but quickly realized something, as he was in something of a tight position.]
Jiro: Why does my whole body hurt? And... why do I feel cold?
[Looking around, the teenaged boy looked as he was in some sort of... container?]
Jiro: What... the?
[Looking downward, Jiro's eyes grew wide as he was in nothing save his underwear, which thankfully covered everything private. Looking up to Sumire, who was still staring back at him, red in the face, the two of them stood like that for a while before reality set in for both of them, making them do the only thing a reasonable person would do at a time like this...]
-- Outskirts of Shinagawa --
[Back on the large hill overlooking Shinagawa, the Bōsōzoku, Aranai, was smirking to herself as she sent her message knowing that Sumire was opening her last 'gift' by now. Looking at her wristwatch, she silently counted down the time, the smirk never leaving her face.]
Aranai: 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...
[As the timer hit '0', Aranai instinctively covered her ears.]
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
[A loud yell was heard throughout the city between a boy and a girl who were both far past being embarrassed. No, they both were downright mortified. Taking her hands off her ears, the SC leader smirked as she got back on her Yamaha bike.]
Aranai: My work here is now done.
[Starting up her bike, revving it up, she drove off into the distance, leaving Shinagawa behind, the smile never leaving her face. As she drove off, she found it hard to contain the laughter in her soul, as she started guffawing for no good reason.]
Aranai: Happy birthday, Sumire!!!
[Still laughing like a maniac, the Bōsōzoku's raucous laughter echoed through the night sky as she left the city in shadows behind her...]

【建築設計】假如日本江戶已存在「墨田玩具鋼琴」
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Vintage Audio Amplifier
The vintage amplifier collection of Hi-Fi - The Stereo Museum
This redesigned section of our webpage is dedicated to vintage audio amplifiers and general guidelines on how to use them.
We have created five new sub-categories under the AMPLIFIER menu button where our collection of vintage amplifiers are neatly displayed in decades and presented in alphabetical order.
Steps to follow setting up your vintage amplifier and start listening to music
Before plugging the power cord into the AC wall socket check if the voltage selector of your amplifier is set to the voltage requirement of your area.
Before doing anything else, connect the speakers. Stereo amplifiers usually have speaker output terminals for 1, 2 or even 3 sets of speakers. They are usually labelled SPEAKERS A and SPEAKERS B. Unlike surround sound amplifiers where all the speakers are located in one room these two sets were provided for MULTIROOM operation. (speaker system A for speakers located in one room A, while speaker system B in another room) Check the label at the back of the amplifier. The most common rule is that you can use 4 ohm speakers if you intend to use only one pair of them at a time. If you want to use the two speaker sets simultaneously you need to use speakers with 8 ohm impedance or higher.
Speaker connection diagram
Connecting speakers to terminal A
3.    Now let's connect our first source to the amplifier. For example a turntable (the vinyl player). Connect the turntable outputs to the PHONO jacks at the rear of your amplifier as shown in the picture. Connect the ground lead of the turntable to the GND (ground) terminal on the amplifier.
Turntable connection diagram
In most cases the PHONO input on the amplifier can accept turntables fitted with a moving magnet (MM) type cartridge. The PHONO input is a special type of input and is different from all the other inputs of an amplifier. Most vintage turntable and most modern turntable must be connected here. There are some exceptions as some modern turntable (usually low budget models) are already fitted with a preamplifier module inside the turntable so they can not be connected to the PHONO input but you can connect them to any other input on your amplifier.
Connecting a turntable to an amplifier
STAX Legend
Victor Laboratory 1000
McIntosh Art of Technology
4.   Playing back music from your turntable. Before switching the power on, set the various controls as follows:
Plug the power cord of these two units into the AC wall socket
Select the speaker switch that corresponds to the speaker system which is connected to the SPEAKERS  terminals on the rear panel.
Set the bass and trebele controls to "0" position
Set the balance control to the center position.
Select PHONO on the front panel. (Make sure the TAPE monitor is set to off)
Make sure the volume is set to minimum and switch the units on.
Start playing a record (vinyl) on your turntable and increase the volume to the desired level.
HITACHI 1981 HCA/HMA-7500MkII
NIKKO 1978 Gamma I, Beta I and Alpha II.
LUXMAN C-02 M-02
Knobs found on the front panel of a vintage amplifier and how to use them
POWER. Before you touch this one, make sure you have followed steps explained in the previous paragraph. Set this switch to ON to supply power to the amplifier. There is a short delay when set to ON, because the muting cicuit has been actuated to supress the unpleasant noise that is sometimes generated when the power is switched on and off.SPEAKER SELECTOR Use this to select the speaker systems. If set to OFF there will be no sound from speakers. You can use this position when want to listen through your stereo headphones. If set to A there will be sound obtained from speakers connected to the A speaker terminals. If set to B there will be sound obtained from speakers connected to the B speaker terinals. If set to A+B there will be sound obtained from speakers connected to both A and B speaker terminals.SUBSONIC FILTER The subsonic filter serves to attenuate frequencies lower then 15Hz. It is therefore effective in suppressing ultra-low frequency noise which is generated by record warp and other causes. You can not actually hear this noise but it is a factor in the generation of intermodulation distorsion and it may damage your speaker system. Set this switch on during record (vinyl) play for the best effect.
HIGH FILTER The high filter serves to attenuate and suppress high frequency noise from scratches on records or tape hiss.VOLUME Use this control to adjust the output level to the speakers and headphones. Turn it clockwise to increase the output level. No sound will be heard if you turn it counter clockwise until stop.
JVC A-X9 1980
LUXMAN L-410
KENWOOD KA-1000 1981
TAPE DUPLICATE SWITCH Use this switch to select copy direction from one tape to another.
1>2 Use this position when playing back a tape on a deck conected to the
TAPE 1
jacks and recording (duplicating) on a deck connected to the TAPE 2 jacks.
2>1 Use this position when playing back the tape on a deck connected to the
TAPE 2
jacks and recording (duplicating) on a deck connected to the TAPE 1 jacks.
OFF Set to this position when not duplicating.
TAPE MONITOR SWITCH Use this switch to select the program source wich is being reproduced
TAPE 1 Set here to monitor a recording or a tape being played back on a tape deck which is connected
           to the
TAPE 1
jacks
TAPE 2 Set here to monitor a recording or a tape being played back on a tape deck which is connected
           to the
TAPE 2
jacks
OFF set here whenever you are not playing back a tape or monitoring a recording (i.e. when you have set the function selector to PHONO, TUNER, CD or AUX etc.)
FUNCTION SELECTOR Use this selector to select the program source.
PHONO Set here when playing records (vinyl) on a turntable connected to the
PHONO
jacks
TUNER Set here when listening to broadcasts on a tuner connected to the
TUNER
jacks
AUX Set here when listening to a program source which is connected to the
AUX
jacks (i. e. Multimedia Player connected from the headphone jack of the player)
YAMAHA T-1060, A-1060 1982
DENON PMA-950
marantz SR8100 1981
HEADPHONE JACK Plug the headphones into this jack when you want to listen through your stereo headphones. (set the speaker selector to OFF when listening only with headphones)BASS AND TREBLE CONTROLS Use these controls to adjust the bass and treble.
If you turn the BASS control to the right from it's center position you will emphasize the low frequencies. Conversely, turning this control from the center position to the left will attenuate the low frequencies.
Use the TREBLE knob in the same manner for high frequency sounds. The frequency where these adjustments are made are preset values (i.e. 100Hz for bass and 10,000Hz for treble) On some units you will find a turnover switch which allows you to select from two frequencies where these adjustments have effect.BASS TURNOVER SWITCH Use this switch to change over the frequency in which the sound adjustment with the bass control is starting to take effect. Select a value in accordance with the characteristics of your listening room and your speakers, and with your general preference.
TREBLE TURNOVER SWITCH Use this switch to change over the frequency in which the sound adjustment with the treble control is starting to take effect. Select a value in accordance with the characteristics of your listening room and of your speakers, and with your general preference.TONE SWITCH Set this switch to ON when adjusting the bass and treble controls. When set to OFF, the tone control circuits are disengaged and frequency response is flat.
BALANCE CONTROL Use this control to balance the volume of the left and right channels. First, however, set the mode selector to MONO and adjust so that the sound appears to come from somwhere exactly between the two speakers. If the sound appears to be louder on the right, it means that the volume of the right channel is higher. Turn the BALANCE control to the left and adjust.
Conversely, if the sound appears to be louder on the left, it means that the volume of the left channel is higher. Therefore, turn the balance control to the right and adjust. After adjusting, return the mode selector to STEREO.
LOUDNESS SWITCH When listening to a performance with the volume control turned down, set this switch to ON and the bass and treble will be accentuated. When the volume is low, the human ear finds it harder to hear the bass and treble than when the volume is high. The loudness switch is thus designed to compensate for this deficiency. By setting it to ON, the bass and treble come through much more strongly and the sound takes on a punch even when the volume control is turned down.MUTING SWITCH Set this switch ON to attenuate the audio output without the need to adjust the volume control. Use this switch when turning down the audio volume output temporarily and when changing over records or tapes.

Direct Air and Pipework are authorised distributors of Hydrovane air compressors, and with more than 850,000 Hydrovane compressors manufactured to date, they can be found throughout all industry sectors.
Hydrovane’s principle global manufacturing and distribution centre is based at Redditch in the UK, ideally situated between our Coventry and Cheltenham offices for the latest developments and technical support. The Hydrovane management system conforms to BS EN ISO 9001: 2008, ensuring the manufacture of first class compressors.
Maximise energy consumption
No gears and no belts mean fewer components to maintain, fail or replace, and no power loss.
Low noise levels
With noise levels as low as 62 dB(A), there aren’t many compressors quiet enough to be located at the point of use.
High quality air
Hydrovane compressed air is clean, dry and pulse free straight from the outlet, with no receiver required as standard. Oil carryover (OCO) is typically less than 3 ppm.
Long lifespan
Reliable technology with fewer moving parts allows up to 100,000+ operating hours without the need for an expensive Air End change or refurbishment, when correctly serviced with genuine parts.
Package options
Both horizontal and vertical compressor formats are available as standard, enclosed or open, offering our customers a real choice when it comes to finding the solution.
Genuine parts
Maintenance and services conducted by Direct Air are carried out using genuine Hydrovane spares, ensuring your compressor is eligible for the Advance 10 Warranty.

Hydrovane Regulated Speed compressors can reduce your energy bills by up to 50% with a typical payback in 3 years*.
Regulated speed compressors from Hydrovane (7.5 to 45 kW) can efficiently and reliably meet the varying air demand found in the majority of air systems, by automatically controlling air output to meet your exact requirements. The right regulated speed compressor in the right application delivers significant energy savings and a stable air supply at a constant pressure.
*Model dependent
So how does a Hydrovane work?
1. Air is drawn through the intake valve
2. Air is contained between the rotor and the stator wall
3. Air is compressed by decreasing volume, Oil is continually injected to cool, seal and lubricate
4. High pressure air passes into the primary oil separator
5. Remaining traces of oil are removed in a fina separator element, providing high quality air
6. System air passes through the aftercooler, removing most of the condensate
7. Oil is circulated by differential internal air pressure. It passes through an air-blast oil cooler and filter before being returned into the compressor
8. Air flow is regulated by an inbuilt modulation system
Hydrovane provides adaptable energy efficient solutions for a wide range of industries including:
Automotive and Garage: From tyre inflation to product finishing, paint shops to air tools.
Construction: From pneumatic drilling to ventilation systems, concrete conveying to air conditioning.
Farm and Agriculture: Milk production, conveying and farm equipment
Food and Beverage: From packaging to product handling, food filling machines to air knives.
Medical and Dental: From sterilisation equipment to laboratory applications and breathing air.
And many more! Find out how a Hydrovane solution could benefit your business.
The Hydrovane Advance warranty offers complete peace of mind covering your Hydrovane compressor** for 10 years or 48,000 hours – whichever comes first!
This also includes a life-time guarantee on the cast iron vane blades contained within the compression element. ***
