So, you asked for more colour and you know that I’m always happy to oblige 🤗 The image does fit well in this series because again it’s a photo taken with the Fujifilm GFX 50S II in Florence. And it’s one taken on the same night as the previous post. This one was a bit tricky because I really wanted to take a long exposure but I was out without tripods 😅 So I had to resort to leaning onto a very unstable pole and hope the lens stabilisation would do its job… And it seems to have worked (good job Fuji engineers!) 😃 I also wanted to take the end of this series towards something more joyful after having dragged you to the very dark place of my street photography. I promise you the next series will take a completely different path. And of course there will still be room for my harsh lights and bold shadows in 2022! But if you followed me for a while you know that I don’t like to corner myself into a niche and I always like to experiment… 
But Instagram doesn’t like experiments so I must rely on your support to grow and you never fail to show it, so thank you very much 🙏🏻. What’s the next series you ask? This series has all been about playing with harsh sunlight and bold shadows… But one of the main benefits of photographing with a medium format camera is how much light and detail such big sensor can capture. And this is all the more evident in low light. Here’s one example. I wish you could see this at full resolution rather than compressed on a phone screen: the detail is so satisfying! I haven’t actually shot much at night with the GFX 50S II. Being on my own, I didn’t want to risk going out with expensive borrowed equipment. All was insured of course, but it would have been a difficult conversation to have with Fujifilm upon returning home 😅 I still managed to capture a few photos I was pleased with. And this has been true with everything I tried with this camera so it’s been quite the enjoyable experience and collaboration. There’s going to be one more photo and then I’ll wrap it all up in another reel… Stay tuned!
