👍: Perhaps the titular character of the series, Sera is beautiful angel (literally) and is arguably the kindest character in the whole series

👍: Endearing, welcoming, understanding, and can be very fun. Pretty much wears her heart on her sleeve with how open she is.

👎: Literally THE sexy character. It’s obvious why you picked her as the hottest, now go get better tastes.

👍: She’s sooo soft omg. She’s so sweet you’ll have a sweet tooth just for her even if you don’t like sweets

And thought it'd be hilarious for some reactions/headcanons from twisted wonderland characters as reader and a friend or someone drink ridiculous amounts of eggnog (if eggnog isn't good then a similar heavy beverage) while they kinda just act silly. Just absolutely losing their minds as they try to out eggnog their competitor. Whether their competitor/friend is one of the characters from twisted wonderland or just some fellow is up to you. This whole scenario sounds like the work of a certain idiot-duo

Getting ahold of Twisted Wonderland’s version of eggnog

So I’ve been writing his name as “Che’nya” this whole time and for some reason I was positive that that was how you spelled his name. Of course I had been past Book 1 for a while, but I hadn’t played Book 5 yet (I stopped playing the main game for a while lol).

And while a lot of people write his name as “Chenya” some people write his name as “Che’nya” like me too, so I just figured it was people not wanting to deal with the apostrophe and dropping it.

But then glomas came out and they wrote his name as “Chenya.” And I was like 😳. So I finally played Book 5 and… also “Chenya.”

And going back to Book 1, it also used “Chenya”! 💀

So I was trying to figure out why I was so sure that his name was spelled as “Che’nya” and I finally realized it’s probably because that’s how his name is spelled on the Twisted Wonderland wiki!

But now I’m very confused… how did this happen? How has some of the fandom just… started writing it as “Che’nya” instead of what they write in canon? Was it a jp thing?

Now I’m wondering if I need to retrain myself not to write the apostrophe! 😭

I was hoping maybe you could shine some light on the mystery?

I believe “Che’nya” (with the apostrophe) is A Thing due to fan translations that existed before an official English localization. Because fan translations were the main method by which TWST was consumed internationally in 2020-2021, “Che’nya” stuck around as the spelling many preexisting TWST fans defaulted to even post-localization.

There is more than 1 TWST Wiki, one of which relies heavily on fan translated terms—so I’m guessing that’s the one you may have been looking at. The .gg TWST Wiki is the one that relies more on the official localization. You’ll see his name is “Chenya” on there, which reflects TWST EN’s naming.

Why did many fan translators decide to write the name with an apostrophe to begin with? I think it’s because of how the name is written in Japanese. Chenya is written as チェーニャ. In other words, チェー (“chē”, as in Cheshire Cat) + ニャ (“nya”, as in the sound a cat makes). So the name is meant to be read as “Che-nya”. However, depending on one’s dialect or manner of speech, it might be spoken as “Chen-ya”, which makes the name lose its intended cat references. My guess is that fan translators inserted the apostrophe in Chenya’s name to make it clear where the divide is (and to preserve the cat pun).

I would ask a fan translator myself though! I don’t speak for all of them; this is just my best guess based on what I know + speaking with my friends on the subject.

You learned really fast that Sebastian would whimper in bed, unapolagetically so. He'd even say 'nya' if you wanted him to, which he was grateful wasn't that often. Not unless you really wanted to get to him at least, really wanted to get under his skin and force him closer to the edge with words and demands instead of touch.

It worked too, and maybe the fact he enjoyed it was what got to him the most. The fact that despite all odds he enjoyed being put in his place got to him when he'd never even considered it.

Sam always wanted to take it slow, never further than the simplest of sex between friends, he was scared of parts that he kept locked up. You grip at his shoulder from under his shirt, nails digging into flesh and fabric rising past his midriff. He shudders at the sharpness in his flesh as you speak, "Cum for me."

And he does exactly as told. You can feel his breath hitch the moment before and then he's breathing harsh and desperate. Soooo….I made some nationality headcannons! At first I was a liiittle bit unsure if to do so cuz then again.. they live in ninjago…. And im pretty sure countries like argentina or Morocco don’t quite exist in the ninjago universe LMAO. Butttttt. Already seen others make headcannons, so hell, why not? I uses they apply to some irl au or what if they lived in our world uk? And what different countries would I see them coming from and etc.

I can imagine that the EM might have travelled all over the world, either to go into hiding, or missions, or escape conflict, etc. Or maybe simply that’s where they came from! So yeah that’s my little explanation that is mostly for myself cuz im a little bit too literal sometimes lol.

When thinking about nationality I always think a lot about where they grew up and what nationality they grew up with and would later on identify with the most. It’s a complicated concept when your parents are from a different nationality and theyre immigrants in a different country- so you grow up in this country, surrounded by this culture and people, but your. Also. Raised by your parents who also have your family living in this completely different country- where you also find home and relate to the people considering how you look, the language you speak with your parents- or the specific culture and environment your parents grew up wiooith, impacting your home life and the way your raised. Perhaps you lived in both places, or travel a lot to your parents homeland. Perhaps you live in one of your parents countries but the other. Not. but you still identify with one of your parents nationality because of the rest of your family from that side and the culture your take in from them. So it’s always very personal! So for Kai and Nya, I imagined that ray was Argentinian and Maya Filipino. And perhaps - because I want to project onto my faves- they were born and grew up in Argentina. But have always also identified a lot with their mothers homeland, since not only does their race impact the way they might feel more different and set apart from kids there, maya loves talking about her childhood in the Philippines and is always talking over the phone with their aunts and cousins, meaning Kai and Nya def were taught some Tagalog, tho theyre not incredibly fluid with it. In their early teens they probably travelled to the Philippines, (took ray and maya some time to settle down and get enough money to travel, as well as find time) and met their whole family, and the place they reside in, habit that would turn quite common as they would continue to travel other times the following years.

For Lloyd, I really wanted to make him Asian -Brazilian. It just felt right. So imagined that my queen (don’t you judge her >:() Misako would be Brazilian, meanwhile Garmadon,Japanese. i imagine that Misako adores traveling, so she met Garmadon on her trip to Japan, and decided to stay there for a WHILE because of the brothers. During her time there, she had Lloyd. Since her family heard of her new baby, she travelled back to Brazil with a two y/o Lloyd to have her family meet the him and catch up overall. but as the serpentine wars rose In japan (ill hc it happened in japan let me know what u think of that) Misako was told to wait in Brazil. Misako didn’t really like that though, and while she dreaded having to leave her son, she was sure shed come back soon after helping out the Brothers in the battle against the serpentine. So Lloyd was left to live with his aunties and grandparents in Brazil. Of course, after Misako found out about the whole Green Ninja thing and all that crap, she pulled the same stunt as in the series and ✨ vanished ✨. But then Garmadon came and fucking took him like divorced parents sometimes do uk? So then he spent some other of his childhood years growing up in, ya guessed it, Japan. This is how Lloyd identifies both with being a Brazilian and Japanese. As for the rest, I just envision that they lived in their respective countries their whole lives till they were recruited!
