Fajr Reflection/Tahajjud Tangent: Beauty Is Attained Through Salah And Gratitude.

"I want to be beautiful." "I wish I was handsome."

You want to know the secret?? You want to attain beauty? Pray. Salah. Beauty is a reward of Salah.

It's true, Salah beautifies the face with noor from Allah SWT and His angels. But most importantly, Salah beautifies the heart, and a beautiful heart sees no imperfection in the creation of Allah.

They develop tawheed and remember that Al-Ahad created them. That Allah, the One who created all that we find beautiful, created us too. So why believe you are so special that you were made ugly?

Be careful, ya Habibi, not to undermine Allah! Not to call, belittle, and detest what Allah has created. Surely this disease was upon Bani Israel, after Allah allowed them to escape Pharaoh and were given food which they did not prefer. So they grew ungrateful with what Allah created for them, (in its lowered lavishness compared to the food of Egypt), and detested what Allah provided through His mercy and generosity.

Al-Rahman, Al-Kareem, we must not forget. حسبي الله عليك

Yes, we have worldly matters such as aesthetics and colours and all that the eyes see. But eyes which truly see, they see beauty in what most people miss. So ask yourself: why do you see only such sparse beauty, when even a twig in the middle of a field of grass is adorned with the greatest design?

We must remember that our bodies are an amanah. We must take care of them for the sake of Allah, Love them for the sake of Allah, Love what Allah has given us to care for, For truly, we are vessels of goodness to others.

And your smile, no matter the proportions of your face, is Sunnah. And your sadaqah, no matter the proportions of your hand, is counted. And your supplications, no matter the shape of your mouth, are accepted.

And you, to Allah, are beautiful, The one who worships and prays to Him SWT, And does righteous deeds, And spends from what Allah has provided, And speaks good words.

You have attained the most precious beauty: The purification of your heart and deeds, The guidance of your limbs to do only that which is right.

So you wish for beauty? First, pray. And repent. And be grateful.

Surely Allah has given us clear signs, And we are ever ungrateful.

And may Allah rectify for us our hearts and our affairs, And make us of those who attain beauty through pleasing Allah.

Ramadan 1

Ilk sahur hevesiyle Turkish breakfast hazırladım ama her gün böyle olmaz muhtemelen, çünkü çok fazla yani. Ama gün içinde acıkmadım hiç. Sadece susadım. Kahve içmek istedim filan. Ama ona rağmen kahvecide üç saat oturup kitabım üzerimde çalışabildim.

İftarda ise canım hiçbir şey yemek istemedi. Bu yemekler birkaç günden kalan, yani yemem gerekiyordu. Ama bir çorba ile de doyarmışım.

Sonra ise kahve. Mamma Mia.

Bu ramazan Omar Sulaiman’in ramazan serisini izlemeye başladım YouTube’da. Videolar 10-15 dakikalık. İki tane yayımlanmış. Okulun Muslim society sinde önerilmişti. Omar sulaimani önceden beri severim zaten. Ama bu videolar aşırı yoğun ve net olmuş. Yani normalde 45 dk da anlayacağı şeyi condense bir şekilde 15 dk ye sığdırmış.

Şimdi ise ya gym ya teravih diye düşünüyordum ama sanırım ikisine de gitmek istemiyorum. Markete gitsem iyi olacak ama. Domatesim bitmiş.

Bugün böyle geçti. Yarın yeryüzü iftarına gideceğiz, ya da sokak iftarı. Tam karşılığı ne bilmiyorum. Ama şehir değiştirecegiz. Heyecanlı.

The one best thing that I have done for myself is building a relationship with the book of Allah. A relationship that compels me to open the Quran at least once a day. This has been my goal for a very long time, and it has done wonders for me. I want to share how I have created this habit because Ramadan is here, and we all need this.

1. I started reading one ayah per day with tafsir. Just one. No more. Even if I wanted to read more, I stopped myself. Because if I get overwhelmed, Shaytan will make it really hard for me to resume. My goal has been to read at least one ayah but read Quran daily, without any breaks. Reading just one ayah with tafsir and while taking notes hardly takes 10-15 minutes. So, it gets easy and does not take much time. You can easily start your Quran journey with this approach.

2. I have not set a scheduled time - nope! I will read at 1 am, sometimes at 3 am if that's when I get done with everything else, and sometimes in the afternoon if that's the only time I can take out of my schedule to read the Quran. The goal is to read daily, not read only after Fajr. I mean, it's awesome if you can do it, but since I struggle with this, I have not restricted myself. This has made a significant difference in my Quran journey.

3. I am taking it slow. I am not in a rush to complete the entire Quran in a month or year. My goal is to learn it thoroughly, not complete it in a given time frame. So, with no rush and no time bomb ticking over my head, I feel comfortable and easy to stay connected with the Quran.

4. Look up your favorite Ustadh or course - for me, it's always been Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan. So, I have subscribed to Bayyinah, which means I know what I am going to read today, I know the next lesson is saved there, I don't have to create a timetable or a schedule of what to read and how to read. It's all available in the Bayyinah app. Simply login, play the video, and start learning.

That's it. Just simple 4 steps. Nothing big. So, Ramadan Kareem, and may this month become an opportunity for you to build a long-lasting relationship with the Quran. Ameen Ya Rab.

Ya Rabb, grant me barakah of time, health, rizq and productivity

Ya Allah, please do not give away my good deeds to others.

Ya Allah, Protect me, my family and friends from Nazr (evil eye), hasad (jealousy) and sihr (black magic)

Reunite me with my family in Jannah- let me lead our generations to the most beautiful gardens of Al Firdous.

Do not expose my faults in front of others on the day of judgement.

Ya Afu, Forgive the sins that I don't remember and the sins that I didn't even consider as sins.

Grant me a heart filled with tranquility and peace.

Cleanse my heart from malice, jealousy, hatred, self-admiration, show off, envy, arrogance and pride.

Grant me the ability to forgive others.

Grant me soft speech, protect my tongue from lying, backbiting and hurting others.

Grant me beautiful patience.

Grant me with the correct Aqeedah, excellent memory and understanding of the deen with daleel.

Bless my parents, forgive them, Grant them good health and make me a sadaqa jaariyah for them.

Bless my siblings in their marriages. Bind us together with love. Do not let shayaateen break our bond.

Grant all the single Muslims the coolness of their eyes- and partners who will elevate them in both the dunya and the aakhirah.

Grant us righteous children and make them a sadaqa jariyah for us Oh Allah help me leave behind a legacy with humility, allow me to leave this dunya with the best legacies for our offsprings and for others.

Help me understand, write, speak and teach Arabic.

Help me maintain good ties with my relatives.

Help me see my faults and cover it from others.

Allow me to speak with wisdom just like the Prophet peace be upon him.

Bestow me with wealth to spend in your way.

Do not let others humiliate/oppress/mock/take advantage of me.

Help me be courageous, confident and a positive person who makes the correct decisions at the right time.

Grant me modesty in clothing and speech in front of non Mahrams.

Forgive the Muslim ummah -the living and the dead. Bless the Muslims with goodness and grant victory to the oppressed.

Fill our hearts with Emaan.

Oh Allah, accept my deeds.

Ya Allah, O my Allah, Ya Rahman, Ya Raheem, Ya Kareem, Ya Sattar, Ya Gaffar, Ya Qaadir, Ya Sami, Ya Aleem, Al Mujeeb, Ya Allah I turn to you in repentance, in submission. I beg you please fulfill my duas.

Ya Allah, Protect our youth from the evils and vice in society today. Grant them the ability to recognise Haqq from baatil

Ya Allah Grant our children success in Deen, duniya & Aakhirah & grant us a lineage of righteous offspring until Yawm al Qiyaamah.

Ya Allah Unite our entire lineage in Jannah al Firdaus.

Ya Allah Make them become the reason for our place in Jannah & shield against the Hellfire.

Ya Allah save me & my entire family from the Hell Fire & make us enter Jannah al Firdaus Aa'laa without being accounted.

Ya Allah, you are Al Gaffaar. Forgive my parents.

Ya Allah Reward them in the greatest measures in this dunya & akhirah.

Ya Allah Elevate their ranks and grant them Jannah al Firdaus.
