Ok, I think I have an idea for a Fantasy High Y2K AU.

-MOTW-styled, with mixtures of sophomore, freshmen, and junior year foes.

-Sophomore year characters during the events of freshmen year (Like Ayda, Baron, Kalina, etc.)

-(probably the hardest to write around.) All humans. Fig can still be related to Gorthalax, but the others would just be regular humans.

-in the same vein, no inherent magic. Adaine's family will probably be the exception, but that's it. The magic the Bad Kids have are more like superpowers/magical artifacts.

-TV-14 guidelines, so nothing about Fig kissing adults, or Chungledown Bim wanting to shit in someone's mouth. Arthur Aguefort can still swear, though, as a treat. Might make him just a straight-up wizard, and he just bleeps himself so he can swear as much as he wants in front of parents and students. Everyone knows he's a wizard, they just don't want to bring it up.

-Fig's more of a punk rocker than a metalhead. Same thing with Zelda's playlist. (I honestly think punk rock fits better for a magical artifact that's about going against authority, and preventing being charmed or frightened, as well, so yeah)

Can you talk about the design for Peri in Wands and Wisps and how you came to deiced to make him look like that? I love his outfit btw.

Thank you for the ask! And the compliment!! Okay, so basically if you go back and look at Peri's first design for the au (completely different art style. By the way, it's a jumpscare.)

Originally his design had a dark purple sweater and then there was a lavender polo underneath. Well, something I realized real quickly real quick about the au is that the design is not distinct because it's very common for people to put Peri in a purple sweater, especially with the collar peeking out, I also didn't want him being too much of the same color.

So I had some ideas of want what I wanted for his design. One of them being I wanted to give him the green jacket to balance out the purple that was his hair

And then I wanted to make it look like he's dressing like a teenager and like how a teenager might dress. I could have looked into Y2K fashion but ultimately I didn't.

I wanted him to have the Phantom t-shirt because you know he's big big Danny Phantom fan. Obviously he doesn't canonically have that yet in the fig but you know you got to think of the future a little bit.

I wanted to keep the gold and black accents for his design in there as well so that's why he's got those Dale dimmadome looking shoes, I don't know if it's a legging or if it's just a really long sock on the one leg but he has canonical leg weakness in the fic and that's what he uses a cane and I wanted to make sure. When I was drawing him that I didn't get the legs mixed up

There are some things that came afterwards like the color of the shorts being khaki because it just worked well with the rest of the color palette. There was originally going to be an idea of him being scene, but I realize real quickly that the problem with that is is that scene is very complicated and if I drew him regularly that'd be a problem.

So I decided yeah no I'm going to give him a simple design. I mean simple-ish but still there's some things over there from the start like the notched eyebrow there was really no lore behind that specifically. I just thought it would look cool and give him a little bit of an edge

and then there's a few things I retconned into his design. Some characters and Danny Phantom have pupils. Some characters don't. After looking at the way I dree Peri. I realize that his design look better without the black pupils, so I just got rid of it

and then the crown choker was also another thing that got added in the future but retconned to act like it was already always there because again I wanted this to feel distinctly Wings and Wisps Peri and easily mistaken for someone else's.

I apologize that this is really long and looks different to how I normally type.

I'm actually Using speech to text right now because it's an easier way for me to catalog my thoughts verbally and give a little bit more insight without having to really question what I'm putting into text. Obviously I'm going to clean it up afterwards, but still.
