I saw a post the other day that made me realize the extent to which bi erasure is the defacto stance on bisexuality among lgbt ppl.

Someone was saying that when someone else's sexuality 'doesn't make sense' they leave it alone, and that's agreeable! But I realized how usually when someone says that they're talking/thinking about someone w internalized biphobia.

the example the guy gave was when another guy told him "I'm gay but I'm sexually attracted to women"

that's bisexual

and it's like, when a woman says "I sleep w men but I'm not really attracted to them, I'm only attracted to women but I just never approach them" or something similar, we see that as internalized lesbophobia, int. homophobia, comp het etc.

Regardless of the response, we understand there's somethng 'off' about that, and consider that the person is absolutely not straight bc that's not something a straight person would say. That's something a same-sex-attracted person suffering internalized oppression would say, and a good friend in the scene would likely gently ask them some questions to help them figure things out.

But when the person is expressing internalized biphobia, the general response! isn't! to see it at all! When someone is expressing internalized biphobia, y'all just see them as being confused, or having a unique attraction. When it's internalized biphobia suddenly 'nothing needs to make sense'!!!! Suddenly things don't need 'boxes'!

And that is literally bi erasure and why a lot of the younger out bisexuals refuse to use the label and make up new ones!

Because y'all mfs silence, erase, ignore and refuse to acknowledge all the ways that bisexuality presents! Y'all make your identities a 'how cishet aren't you' competitions where you see bisexuality as just 'straight lite' so no one wants to claim it even if they know inside it's accurate!

That pisses me off so bad and it's really disgusting. Bisexuality is and literally always has been THE identity (and gender!) catchall for ppl who are in ANY! ANY! way more than same OR other gender attracted.

The Witcher Netflix Season 2 Spoilers!

Some things I just need to get out of me:

• I disliked most of it if you ask me as a Witcher Fan. It not canon, not at all. They did so many things wrong or executed them the wrong way or idk.. only like one or two thirds were based on the books, which is really a shame since the books already have a very good, compact story and wouldn't need big changes to make it into a good series.

• if you ask me as a person who knows nothing about Witcher lore, it was a good season. The cinematic aspect was phenomenal, the acting was on spot and the story line was okay (a bit shaky tho)

• also Joeys new songs slap so hard omfg espacially Burn, Butcher, Burn and Whoreson Prison Blues are so good.. he also got more Dandelion the episode (which I love)

• I also really loved Cöen, Lambchop (so cute) and Vesemir.. they were all executed very well and I basically fell in love with them all over again

•Eskel tho? Ohhohoho we really need to talk about my boi beCAUSE WTF DID THEY DO TO HIM??? why him?? why not one of the 15 other (mostly nameless witchers) who died in the end anyways???

• also his character?? Like wtf that was not him at all. He was like the politest witcher soul ever in the books, a total sweetheart with a big scar in his face, scary, scruffy looks and an ugly voice.. this bitch tho? Not Eskel. Nah, won't accept it.

• New headcanon: Eskels still alive somewhere out there

• btw witchers.. what went wrong with the contact lenses? Did they spend all their bdget on Rience's one eye? Or on Yenns ugly ass unrealistic lookin violet ones? Love that Cöen had two different eyes but the rest.. only one with special eyes was Geralt

•apropro special.. wtf was that with the bruxa in the beginning? Since when can they fly? Right, never, they also don't have a bat form or can move round like that thing did

• Okay but back to the boys.. oha emotional rollercoaster omfg. Why were there 20 witchers? They were supposed to be like 5 at max.. also why make them if kill them in the end anyways??

• killing btw, I wouldn't have blamed Vesimir for killing Ciri.. he lost his sons, she or, better, Baba Yaga killed them.. it would have been the lesser evil to kill Ciri if it would have killed Baba Yaga too (also the show is a shitsshow this or that way, wouldn't have been surprised if smt like that happened)

• apropros killing his sons.. Vesemir was left broken by Eskels death. And Geralt? Supposedly best friend and closest brother of Eskel? He KILLED him and wasn't even half as sad as the rest of his brothers.. he killed his damn horse which he changes like dirty underclothes and was sadder about it than killing his own brother. He didn't even give Vesemir the time to mourn or say his last goodbyes.. "the wolfs are coming" stfu u stupid worthless excuse of a brother, u know what, you didn't deserve Eskel

• also ppl saying "oh he was such a good father" like no??? In the first half of the season he was literally a dudebro to Ciri, not a father.. even in the end he still called her Cirila wtf

•okay okay goddamn I'm angry but enough bout the boys... Jaskier, Cöen, Lambert and Vesemir, y'all have my love.. oh and I really dislike Triss because she's a pick me and toxic in general (based on the series, books and games; same as Yennefer) but I really liked her cute grandfather-granddaughter relationship she had with Vesemir (like in the books yk)

See I have a multi-layered problem that consumes my time faster than GIff consuming Squid.

Yeah, life (lol). But for me it's a mix of my ADHD fking me up sideways and a little to the right.

I always feel like things would flow much smoother if I was more transparent and just live-blogged every now and again what I'm doing like "LoL at work yee YEE". Cuz then at least you'd get a feel for what exactly I'm doing instead of like the three days of silence.

(Three being a metaphorical representation of any number to infinity)

But why it takes me so long boils down to three things (for myself and productivity) ---

(1) Time Blindness (this one ALWAYS gets me LOL)

you would not believE how fast a day can go for me. Like these weeks have been flying by so quick I feel like I'm drownin (rip)

(2) The clock and expectation mixing together gives me an unfortunate bout of anxiety.

Like I rlly love and appreciate every1 that follows and enjoys and engages with my liveblogs lol. It's really such a highlight being able to share my thoughts and just go fan-crazy with other ppl who *GET* it, y'know? And it is also SUCH a motivator.

But tumblr's media limit shot me with adrenaline. Where (with my time blindness lmao rip) I always feel like I'm in a race against the clock to post as much as I can before it hits midnight (and everything resets)

So if its like 10pm the amount of anxiety spikes that shoot through me if I even glance at the clock and put any care on time is like insane actually. I guess "adrenaline" is more correct than anxiety, but it def has an anxious edge to it.

And I don't really care about anxiety cause I'm not an anxious person. A lot of people actually call me too laid back /lackadaisical.

But the problem is that if I get these spikes they almost immediately send me into a mixed state.

And if I get into a mixed state oooooooooo. Well lets just say those are the times where I have the tumblr tab open along with like 20 other tabs, and then I proceed to spend 42-75 hours without sleep obsessed over something random and unimportant.

(last week I was looking at BJD --hAH. That I can't even afford smh. WHY. And I did this for at least 42 hours without sleep. ).

TLDR;

I work a job but since I'm a writer (in my own time), I need to write/edit, and also I need to practice drawing -- And these can take up an incredibly long amount of time if I don't set alarms LOL.

Then combine that with ADHD, and bi-polar episodes and WOO. We are truly partying >:)). And THEN combine that with life responsibilities and things like my physical health issues --directly relating to food allergies, which are always ready to duke it out with me in the yard.

okay listen. i understand why gay/trans ppl on tumblr take like every fictional character and say "they're just like me". i get that, even today, there's significantly less canonical gay/trans representation in popular media than there is cis etc, so this is a cool way to deal with that issue. but...

idk. seeing people constantly claim "so and so is gay" when they're so clearly not. or "so and so is a trans icon" even tho seriously they obv aren't? is just like... idk. it's starting to make me eyeroll every time 🙄.

i mean these are fictional chars, so misgendering or toying with their sexuality isn't gonna HURT anyone. it's fine. do what you want. but i guess i just don't understand why y'all do it so much. especially in 2021 when there's SO much gay/trans media compared to what it was. this website in particular is DROWNING in amazing characters who are canonically trans or gay.

like instead of claiming problematic-ass disney's minnie mouse is trans, couldn't you support a trans creator's char instead? you can claim claire redfield from resident evil is a lesbian, but why not talk about undyne from undertale instead? when she is literally dating another woman in the game.

it's bizarre to me that you'd swear up and down that samus aran is trans just based on an offhand (somewhat offensive) joke made by one of the early designers. like CLEARLY she has next to no evidence of being trans. the creators discount it left and right, at best awkwardly saying "maybe, but it's unlikely". i mean the whole thing w her character is "BIG REVEAL the man in power suit was actually a cute girl all along!" like it wasn't really even basic female empowerment representation. it was a fakeout so they could show an anime girl in her underwear. yes, ACCIDENTAL female empowerment was a result, but... idk. i just don't know why you guys choose who you choose to headcanon into gay or trans.

you have other characters, like poison from final fight, or birdo from mario, who have SIMILAR backstories but who actually have plenty of evidence or canonical support to say they're canon trans. you have characters who are canonically gay/bi? why do you need to be like "luigi gay xD" and make miyamoto act like a freak n get mildly homophobic about it? you don't NEED luigi to be gay like his creator never intended him to be that way like... it's like you're purposely choosing the wrong characters. like omg hideo kojima LOVES "snake gay" etc like can't you just??? can't you just.

undertale is FULL of gay n trans (or at least nb) people but you choose SPAMTON? just why? oh is the edgy skeleton man sans gay? does every one of your fav characters have to be rewritten so they apply EXACTLY to you? i just don't get it. it feels very middleschool.

i know i'm ranting. i know i'm complaining about how others headcanon fictional char's gender or sexuality. like this shit doesn't matter in the long run like who cares... but idk? i guess i just don't understand the thought process behind lying to yourself about a character who in no way is what you claim. i guess in a way i think samus, for example, is a much cooler char as she is. she's a fictional hero BECAUSE she's a strong afab girl. on the flipside, i think poison is amazing as being amab? she's the greatest BECAUSE of how she is. i'm nb/bi myself, but i don't need to apply my gender or sexuality to fictional characters who's creators just didn't design them that way. i'd rather choose to love characters for who they actually are.

the reason i eyeroll ISN'T because the thought of my fav characters being trans or gay bothers me in any way. i eyeroll because you are deciding for others what a "person's" gender/sexuality is. it's annoying in the same way as when someone accuses me of "not being gay" or says "you aren't really nb" (yes it happens)... or the flipside of when people accused me of being gay etc before i knew. or claimed i was def def a trans girl etc. these aren't offensive because no sexuality or gender is bad. but it's... not for you to decide MY gender. MY sexuality. THAT'S what's annoying.

to me, claiming a canonically cis character is trans? feels fake. forced. made up. you can say it all you want but it just isn't true. imo we don't need false representation and it's counterproductive and makes the orig creators act weird. i eyeroll because for me, for my fav characters? you're just fucking wrong.

Have you considered that the whole Super straight/bi/lesbian/gay thing came about specifically because y'all are so quick to call people transphobic? I don't understand why supporters of trans rights are so interested in whether or not people are willing to date trans people.

Like, if that's your biggest problem, you're doing well. Genuinely, what is this oppression trans ppl face if the biggest concern is getting a date? And if someone doesn't want to date a trans person, why, WHY would y'all wanna pressure them into it? What does that do for you? Isn't it dangerous for the trans person to pursue the issue once they've been turned down? Why are you encouraging them to be in a place of danger? Who cares if some people don't want to date trans people? If they're as oppressed as y'all say, that is literally the least of their concern.

I absolutely fully agree with that. It absolutely isn’t an okay thing to do and people aren’t transphobic for not wanting to date or be with a trans person. I have absolutely nothing against that.

What *does* bother me is how people go about using the “trans people are mad that we won’t date them” to straw man that most people that say that follow it up with saying “trans men aren’t real men” or combine it with “I only want to date real and natural men” which is inherently transphobic.

I fully support anyone who is just not interested in dating trans people. That’s fine, and I really don’t care. We are a blog of people who have been traumatized, abused, and sexually abused and forced upon. We would never put that upon anyone else. Our blog is first and foremost about trauma and consent and harassments is absolute big “N-O”s for us

If the majority of the people who said they didn’t want to date trans people didn’t start using “real” women and men lines, then I would have no issue with being “super straight” or “super lesbian”.

Similarly to you assuming everyone who is against it cares about if you can get a date or not and is upset about it, we are forced to assume everyone who thinks it is about that is going to use and talk like a transphobe / TERF and de-legitimize their gender identity. Most of the shit talking and memes in the Super Straight tags are dissing “new” gender labels like nonbinary or whatever and trans identities and all that, so don’t act as if this is all about predatory trans behavior and not about people being disgustingly transphobic.

If your tag and movement was solely about addressing toxic behavior in the trans community that is predatory, I would be standing with you and in support, but instead a large majority of the people in your “movement” take it as an opportunity to diss, disrespect, and let blatant transphobic / TERF rhetoric spew disgustingly on your floor and I just can’t stand for that.

As for the Trans community, our largest issue **isnt** getting a fucking date. It has never fucking been getting a date and if you really think that is the largest issue, god are you blind and deaf. 

I think the largest issue would be the overall stigma hatred and disgust many people in society hold towards people who are trans. There are also all the people who regularly threaten violence and state that they would kick the head in of anyone who they saw if they were trans or saw “a man in a dress.” There are people thinking people who are trans are secretly just pedophiles that want to fondle children. There are people who murder people for being trans. There are people who just regularly bully and make fun of people or completely cut ties with people because they are trans. There are people assaulting - physically and sexually - people who are trans just for being trans.

I promise you, almost any of the bigotry and exclusion that people who are lesbian, bi, and/or gay experience, people who are trans also experience, but they also get it from people who are lesbian, bi, and gay.

If you want to have a discussion about the predatory nature of some people who use being trans as a means to attack and pressure people into sex or a relationship, we would be more than glad to sit down and talk about that. It is a huge problem and a disgusting one. 

If you are trans and you get rejected and then use your trans identity to try to pity and victim cry yourself a date or sex, then you are scum and worse than any transphobe out there. You don’t deserve to look at this blog or group yourself with us. Don’t be a fucking predator.

I’m not against “supers” because I think they have a right to your body. I’m against “supers” because they parade behind “I don’t like the predatory behavior!!” to be transphobic.

I understand that if some of your have been pressured into shit like this, it might be a trauma response and I understand that. I’m not actually mad at you for that because I very much understand how that works. We have been there before and have generalized horribly, but please do know a large majority of the community is not just about sexuality and who they will date. We aren’t predators. We are just people and most of us just will handle rejection like a normal god damn person. Please don’t generalize us with abusers because of a negative experience you or someone you know might have experienced.

A lot of people who are trans are far more busy and concerned with how having to choose between who they actually are and living in a constant lie to themselves and others, and being their true self and risking to upturn their entire life, loose many acquaintances, and naturally have a target on your back if you aren’t living in an area that is considerably tolerant and even then its still a risk. I don’t know where you got that getting a date is the largest issue about being trans because it never was and never is.

Please, take some time to really try to listen to us and our experiences and please don’t immediately group all trans people in with abusive people. A lot of us really don’t care about getting in people’s pants and most of it is really just about trying to live and be ourselves.

I understand the experiences are horrible and anyone who puts that pressure is horrible, but don’t let that be an excuse to spread rhetoric and hate on a group that already has an insanely high suicide rate. 

People aren’t killing themselves because they aren’t getting dates. They are killing themselves because being trans is hard and insanely difficult. Dating someone is a speck of sand in a desert.

Please don’t use that straw man on us and please don’t use it to paint all trans people as bad and worthy of hate.

I really hate how ppl are saying for Spongebob "well he can still be gay and ace" like, we know. But y'all take the gay and would rather chuck any association of asexuality as far away as possible. When people say "Spongebob is gay" they are saying hes homoSEXUAL because allosexuality is assumed until proven otherwise. Don't be dragging gay aces into your aphobic excuses.

I told myself I’d like to leave this topic once it hit midnight. But I just wrote this and I feel like it goes well with your message so...

As a queer person who could use a lot of labels to really narrow in on my exact GPS coordinates on the Queer Map. I think it’s an unnecessary burden to demand that of aces. We don’t demand that other sexualities to also label their romantic labels in order to be valid.

It also puts a burden on aro aces to demand they always use both labels in every context or they are failing their community. Especially in a community where if you aren’t a lesbian, bi, trans ace you are dismissed. (And even if you are, you are still dismissed plenty as well.) It’s just shows asexuality is not respected on it’s own.

This is not a product of aces being “new” because we aren’t.

This is not the product of aces being a “privileged” sexuality. We are not.

It is a product of an English centric false hierarchy of letters that favors respectability politics and how close you can imitate a heteronormative nuclear family which is a 20th century term that aimed to help fuel capitalism

But sure do lecture me and fellow aces about how this isn’t obviously a clear admit to launder our asexuality in favor of another label

haha hey funny how when i identified as a bi afab nonbinary person, i literally got harassed for talking about the misogyny i experienced growing up and the internalized sexism, because it was "misgendering" to allow nonbinary people to talk about it, but now that i identify as a afab nonbinary lesbian, no one cares :)) almost like I'm being misgendered now that I'm lesbian :))) and it's magical how even though my gender didn't change somehow by virtue of going from bisexual to lesbian my experience is valid to talk about now :))) y'all don't actually give 2 shits about respecting gender just shut up and let ppl talk about their experiences I'm so tired

Also? "those aces" don't exist. Just looking at what @swampgallows ' friends said, what the first few people are talking about (the theoretical aces that get made fun of I mean when aphobes arent targeting someone specifically), and what I constantly see from exclusionists and even people who claim not to care.

I'm always hearing about the aces that slutshame us, the aces and aros who can't stand PDA and try to prevent mlm and wlw from being open about their sexualities in queer spaces. But I've never met one and I think that says something.

I'm always talking about my girlfriend or sex, usually both. And I have gotten some criticism for it. Only one person on Tumblr (I think most of y'all have learned to ignore it), and was he ace? Nope! Aro? No! A-spec? He didn't say anything about it but I don't think so! It was a trans gay (or bi? I think gay) guy who was bitter because he hasn't been in a relationship yet. Now lets think of the people who've given me shit about it irl. One out of at least 5 people (most don't tend to care too much about the sap, I've gotten more than 5 complaints about the horniness), ONE was aroace and none of the others were anywhere on either spectrum. And she hates me for other reasons and was probably jealous (in a platonic way, of course) that I was hogging my gfs attention. If ace/aro people were all like that, wouldnt at least one person who didnt have personal problems with me say something? Wouldn't I get at least one message from one of the many ace/aro ppl on Tumblr who can see my posts?

Ppl telling cl's to shut up and not complain about the dead lesbian trope. Ppl calling bisexuals biphobes for not shipping BC. Both fandoms are shitty. Deal with it.

1. never saw this happen but y'all posted actual pictures of bob next to a monkey and have called him an ape and a monkey for years so take a seat susan also a majority of the fandom love lindsey and would defend her to the end of the world and back. i have never seen anyone hate on her and just because a few people said something now its all of us ok

2. ok cool you did the exact same thing with michael because he played pike and made a vague tweet against cl one fucking time, not to mention also running off bob on 3 separate occasions and jarod... and chris... so like you're point? its also been proven that there were multiple blarke account on twitter at this time that were actually run by cl shippers

3. literally one of the biggest discussions in our fandom is making sure we don't over sexualize bob. you're not here and you only see the 5 people that call him daddy or freak out over twitter but a majority of the fandom is very careful to not go overboard and say something uncomfortable. and we call out those who do it. also um aren't y'all the ones that actually measured the length of abc’s fingers and talk about how bad you want them inside of you so maybe take a nap on that

4. again haven't seen evidence of this but a majority of the fandom actually like abc and defends her against that kind of hate. also if i recall bob, jarod, richard, devon, and chris have all gotten death threats on a daily basis. y'all even sent some to eliza over the jarod kiss video

5. don't think thats exactly how it went down. i know about 90% of the fandom were supportive of the fandom and upset about the death too and agreed it was a gross trope and only started arguing when y'all moved to get the show canceled. and yes there are some people saying you should move on or leave but its either towards those that only spread hate in the fandom and attack other blogs when they said they were leaving the show or towards people that should distance themselves from their trauma for mental health reasons

6. this ones a joke right? YALL. CALL. US. FAKE. BIS. FOR. NOT. SHIPPING. CL. and honey we aren't out here calling you biphobic because you don't ship bellarke, we’re out here calling you biphobic because you ignore clarkes bisexuality by 1) hoping she dies so she can be with lexus, 2) saying its not good bi rep if she ends up with a man, 3) accusing every bisexual in the fandom of faking it for a ship, and 4) telling bi blarkes they don't belong in the community or at pride.

so just fuck off with this seriously. yeah oh damn both sides are shitty, but the difference is the majority of our fandom (the ones the fandom CLAIMS and associates with) don't engage in harmful behavior and call out racism and problematic behavior when we see it where as the majority of y'all remain problematic and harmful to the cast and the crew and anyone that doesn't ship cl and refuse to call out biphobia in your fandom when you see it. and since y'all love to pull the receipts card on our asses maybe i should ask for yours since this is 90% stuff I've never witnessed or been told about where as its pretty common knowledge that the blarke fandom suffers from biphobic abuse daily. 

we take care of problematic behavior in our fandom when we see it and we aren't fucking responsible for every last person that does something when y'all start calling out your own fandom for their gross behavior instead of turning it back on us we can talk.

i remember back when ppl were trying to frame sh@llura as amazing and progressive like "don't call it a boring het ship! interracial het couples are important!" but now that k@llura is seen as a possibility it's all "it's a boring forced heteronormative relationship" like... guess interracial het ships are only progressive when they don't get in the way of kl@nce lol.

I’m seeing the same with female characters, where before season 2 everyone was complaining that they wanted more girls in the series, but as soon as the season 2 trailer (the Real One) dropped and Keith was seen with an unknown character, the fandom started whining that it might be a female and did shit like this:

and yes - I am aware that this person is exceptionally stupid - but anyone who’s been around before season 2 has first hand witnessed the outrage of the fandom at the mere thought of adding more female characters to the show.

A large part of this fandom is a racist, misogynist and bi/pan/acephobic steaming pile of shit. You know how much they care about representation? Asian characters are white-passing, the cuban character is supposed to be an alien, the actual alien female has been reduced to an annoying “mom” trope despite not displaying any motherly traits, no one cares about Hunk because he’s not considered attractive enough, autistic!Keith headcanons are now used to justify why he’d make a terrible leader - I could go on. Oh my god, I could go on.

Sheith is mlm, Kallura is interracial. Allurance is interracial. Hance is mlm. But all of these couples would break up Klance or Shallura - so they’re not considered “good enough” to count as progressive. By antis’ standards, at least.
