A/N: So hello, as you know, yer girl is working on her original novel, "What's a God to a mountain", so today I call this my break fanfic (because I am gonna work on the next few chapters, as the first 5 were draggy AF), this idea has been there for a super long time, since last year- which I explore the Ball Boy friendship squad-Kogane, Hinata, Tsukishima, Kumini, Kindaichi and Goshiki having fun., it supposed to be a Twitter fic but however I write it too long, so I will do as Tumblr/A03 thing if I am able to format it.

Sometimes friendship held them in simple moments, and Kogane, exhausted from long practice, hurriedly ran to his room, ignoring the vacuum noises from the living room, and his younger sister Yoshi grabbing honey butter potato chips from the cupboard, plopping his gym bag down the floor. Kogane’s hands gripping the phone- as he typed his first message unto his newly made phone chat group which he named it as “Training Group Donburis”, which Kogane texted his first message. “Hey….👋” he held his phone perhaps a little too tightly, in pure anticipation for that message.

How has you….

Shit…. Kogane thought to himself, my grammar is wrong. Uhm 

How is everyone?

Kogane saw a name which he thought to himself, watching dots dancing back and forth  “well would 10/10 reply to the chat”, Kogane gazed over the name of sender-Hinata.

“Kogane!”

Hurriedly Kogane texted Hinata back “Hinata” 

“Oh forget, I am well-I am told off by coach that my serves are a little off and oh baka-yama just screamed at me…

🤣

Kogane smiles happily ashe slowly unpacked his bag- taking out one of the textbooks on engineering, while flipping through one of the heavy chapters, seeing another speech bubble of Goshiki enthusiastically sending a cat hello gif 

Kindaichi texted indifferent ‘Sup

Kogane smiles a little. “Hope you are okay.”

Just recovered from a fever… it kinda sucks 😩Kindaichi repiled to the chat. Well I feel shitty with the cough

Hinata and Kogane texted the sad emoji over Kindaichi’s message. Another message popped from Hinata.

“Get well soon!! Onion head…”

Kindaichi texted back. “Thanks guys…”

That moment a 🙄 appeared on the chat. Kogane spam the chat with the long text tsukkkkkiiiiiiiiiiii 🌙🌙🌙🌙 are you ok!!!

Tsukishima texted the chat. Geez, send your well wishes to Kindaichi privately 😩

Hyakuzawa texted quietly and plainly to the chat group. “Kumi… sorry, make sure you hydrate…”

‘Sup Hyakuzawa’ Kindaichi texted back. Thanks, I am, my dad have to restrain me to stop playing…

“It is good to rest..” Kogane cannot help but to be weirdly impressed that Hyakuzawa adopted himself as the source of wisdom for that rambunctious group chat. Kindaichi “Coach told me, if we do not slow down, it will get worse….”

Kogane watched Hinata texted furiously back to Hyakuzawa  “Hey Hyaku thanks for helping me tutor maths yesterday night!! How are your cats Kinako and Mitarashi”, unaware that Tsukishima left the group chat, obsessed over Hyakuzawa sending a picture of the two cats giving a hug- Kinako-a beige cat with golden eyes and Mitarashi- a dark tabby with green eyes holding them tightly, which Hyakuzawa texted below. “They are well.”

Hyakuzawa added “For Goshiki, since he wanted to see more of them, this is from yesterday’s study session with Hinata.”

Goshiki replied back to the adorable picture  “Awww!! I am jealous Hinata get to see them…” Kogane texted a 😍 to the chat. Hinata replied. “Maybe you should come and study with us….Goshiki-Kun, Mitarshi is a great cheerleader to me.. and so Hyakuzawa…unlike a certain…”

Goshiki furiously texted back to Hinata. “Yes! When? How?”

Kogane cannot help but to laugh at the furious texting between Hinata and Goshiki of how adorable Hyakuzawa’s cats are. 

“Akira-Kun, how are you….” Kogane typed hastily, thinking to himself about the newly minted friendship between Goshiki and Hinata, it is funny if Hinata is not a freak in volleyball- he is indeed the freak of flattery, and it is frightening than his freak tosses. 

Kumini send a picture of him, making a peace sign at the school’s volleyball court. “Sorry, I still have practice, I am on clean up duty…”  Kogane texted back to him. “You can do it, you know what? I saw a new salted caramel popcorn at the local konibini, perhaps someday I can pass it to you, when we meet for katsudon…”

Kumini texted him back with a 👍. Kogane appreciated Kumini’s observant texts- “Hang in there you are almost done…” Kogane searched through Tsukishima’s number- and added him on the chat group. “Speaking of which…” Goshiki texted to the chat group. “Yeah, have you thought where and when…”

Kogane pondered a little. “Yeah I am looking over, I am thinking of visiting my cousin Harada’s Katsudon store for lunch and we can go over to the shopping streets to buy desserts and coffee….”, Kogane quickly looked over his phone to see if he had a text message from his aunt about the promotion menu, which he send the group chat, pictures of the menu, which he purposefully tagged Tsukishima with a text. 

Tsukki? Is there something you like?

Tsukishima texted quietly. Kogane, I do not want to be in the chat….but fine….

It looks good.

Is it good with you guys. Kogane texted to the chat group, noticing that Tsukishima once again leaving the group chat, I better add him again , Kogane thought to himself looking at the replies with thumbs up with Kumini texting back. ‘Looks good…”

“Let me know, if it clashes with your practices, as I can reserve the spot for you guys….” Kogane texted back to the chat group. Before he could continue the text group, his younger sister- Yoshi gazed over her taller older brother. “Nii-chan, what are you doing…”

Kogane blurted quietly, nearly dropping the textbook and phone on the floor “Well, chatting with friends from the Training camp, we are thinking of meeting up at Harada-san’s for dinner.” Yoshi rolled her eyes “Eww, like a teenage girl gossiping about boys and the latest crushes of boy groups, help mum out in taking out the plates for dinner- if you are done with your homework….”

 “Alright….” Kogane groaned a little, picking up the book and phone, placing it on the table, at least he has something to look forward to for the weekend, should the schedules align for a nice meal at Harada-san’s donburi restaurant and following by walking around the quaint shopping streets, taking takayakis and konbini food on the go. 

That sounds super fun.

- matsukawa and hanamakki are pretty chill as well,, a joke about oikawa every now and then makes you laugh

I feel like Kyoutani wouldn't be big on celebrating his birthday. Like, his dad and sister just give him a gift or make something he likes for dinner but he's never had a party or anything. So when one year Yahaba and Watari throw a small get together (not even really a party) with their teammates for his birthday he's very endeared and gets a little bit emotional. And this is the first time most of them have seen him with any displayed emotion other than anger, so it's safe to say they're very surprised. It ends up being his best birthday yet.

I hate it when people act like Kunimi and Kindaichi were in the wrong with what they did.

THEY WERE BEING VERBALLY ABUSED BY A TEAM MEMBER. Trying to talk it out with him was likely out of the question and probably tried, Kageyama had so many walls up by then, asking what was wrong probably wasn’t gonna brake them.

The situation was bad for everyone, they had every right to get themselves out of a toxic situation. And if they hadn’t gone to the extreme, I don’t think Kageyama would’ve had that wake up call.
