This poll is for who should send “if the world was ending” by JP Saxe and Julia Michaels. No other option because I don’t want loads of people clicking Other then saying Kuroken or one of the most popular and common Haikyuu ships. Yes there are two Kageyama ships. I tried to decide on one but I like him with Kindaichi and Kunimi. Also these are the ships I see as exes or think could be exes in an AU. And Asahi x Aone just for fun. Also I just wanted to write different ships that I don’t usually write so.

summary
It had started by accident, really. Kunimi had gone out to sit on his balcony and get drunk and Kageyama Tobio had been there, one balcony over, sitting on a stool with a glass bottle at his feet. Kunimi had nearly dropped his own bottle. Kageyama Tobio had looked over, and said, voice low and soft, “I didn’t know you lived here.” Of all the street corners, or something.
aka kageyama and kunimi drink beer on separate balconies and kunimi has feelings about it.
#My fic#kageyama tobio#kunimi akira#kagekuni#honestly this fic is very much no plot just vibes. hope u like it

Warriors of the Salacian Rebellion
In late 2010 a large army from deep beneath the sea, coming from the underwater World of Salacia, came up to invade Dryland in rebellion against the Drylanders and their treatment of Salacia. Despite their defeat at the hands of Parker Zhou (Zhuge Liang), their warrior spirits persisted much to the awe of many.
In the years before the rebellion, many kings from previously participated in the five Battles of Kawanakajima against the Takeda Clan. A few years after, the Salacians began another rebellion that ultimately failed, then in the ensuing years, the Salacians decided to protect their world (or invade Dryland) as Kamen Riders.
This is a record of those who fought valiantly in the Salacian Rebellion of 2010. Not everyone could be recorded for various reasons, such as their absence at the time or the amount of warrior names that could be assigned to them, but they would eventually be recognised in the years to come.

Kunimi, Kindaichi had said to him once. You know, the more you care about something, the harder you try to hide it.
It had happened right after he asked Kunimi to go to the Schweiden Adlers-MSBY Black Jackals game with him. Kunimi had pretended to think about it, pretended his thoughts weren’t immediately drawn to the one name he hadn’t let himself say aloud since high school, and then he shrugged and nodded. “Sure,” he said. “I don’t have anything better to do.”
Kindaichi just looked at him, and Kunimi was sure that he didn’t believe a word of it.
He was right, though. Kunimi preferred not to let on that anything bothered him, least of all an old middle school classmate who he really should have forgotten about by now.
There was no reason for Kunimi to care. But then, there was also no reason for Kageyama to spot him and Kindaichi as they stood to leave after the game was over. No reason for him to smile at them and say, “Let’s play together again sometime.”
And before Kunimi, paralyzed by a smile he’d never seen before, could speak, Kindaichi answered for the both of them. “Sure,” he said. “Let’s do it.”
One casual game between not-quite-friends turned into two turned into three turned into one hesitant Saturday afternoon when Kunimi bumped into Kageyama at a neighborhood restaurant and offered to split a table with him.
Only because all the other seats were full, of course.
Kunimi spent the thirty minute meal trying to avoid Kageyama’s eyes, nevertheless wondering if they were still the same shade of blue they’d always been.
Blue. The color of a champion. For all that Kunimi was the one who ended up at Seijoh, he’d always thought it suited Kageyama best.
The sky was blue. So was the ocean, and Kunimi’s economics textbook. He wonders, as they split the check, whether he’ll ever be able to see the color without thinking of Kageyama.
Call it hope or defiance or resignation, but when Kageyama excused himself to go to the bathroom, Kunimi scrawled ten numbers on the back of a napkin and slipped it in his coat pocket.
And as much as he told himself not to expect anything, he remained on edge until his phone buzzed an hour later.
Their first date happened at an aquarium because Watari knew a guy who could get them an employee discount. All the lights there were tinted blue, bathing Kageyama’s skin in an otherworldly cerulean glow, and his eyes grew round and wide as he surveyed the multicolored fish and plants all around them. It was hopelessly endearing. All Kunimi could do was act like his heart wasn’t beating out of his chest as he reached over and folded Kageyama’s hand into his.
Kageyama stiffened in surprise, stared at their intertwined hands and then at Kunimi. Then he relaxed, and his lips curved into something just shy of a smile, and he didn’t pull away as they wandered to the next exhibit together. Even though Kunimi’s fingers must have been cold.
They met up in secret places at odd hours: hotel rooms and hole-in-the-wall diners on narrow streets. It would have felt illicit if Kunimi thought Kageyama was at all capable of that. But the secrecy was unplanned; the balance between them was delicate, stretched thin as a tightrope, and too much attention ruined relationships more often than not.
It was in the privacy of Kunimi’s college dorm, his roommates having gone to visit their families for the weekend, that Kageyama brought it up.
“The season’s started,” he said, taking his usual seat on the cramped western-style bed. His hair was still wet from the shower he took earlier, and he smelled like mint. “Our first game is in two weeks.”
Kunimi knew this. The only reason they’d been able to keep their relationship so quiet thus far was because the volleyball season hadn’t yet begun. With the increased media scrutiny, things would be different for them.
“Oh, really?” Kunimi asked, noncommittal. He set the pen down on his desk with a click and swiveled in his chair to face his… boyfriend?
Kageyama didn’t seem put off by the non-answer. “Are you coming?” he asked.
“Do you want me to come?” Kunimi deflected.
“Stop answering all my questions with questions.” Finally, a reaction; Kageyama’s nose wrinkled in annoyance, and Kunimi got the strangest urge to reach forward and poke it.
He considered the idea. Going to Kageyama’s games, sitting in the front row and cheering him on, wearing a white jersey with a blue number 20 embossed on the back.
Well, he probably wouldn’t go that far.
“Kunimi?” Kageyama prompted.
As much as Kunimi liked to play it cool, it was hard for him to keep up the facade when Kageyama looked at him like that, equal parts wary and hopeful. Hard for him to breathe in the face of something so earnest.
Kunimi cleared his throat. “I’ll see if I’m free,” he said. His voice cracked on the last syllable.
Kageyama, thankfully, didn’t call him out on it. He perked up, correctly interpreting the dismissive response as yes, I’ll be there.
“I’m going to kiss you,” he said.
You don’t have to tell me you’re going to do it every time, Kunimi opened his mouth to say. Then Kageyama’s lips were on his, and he never got the chance.

Oikawa: Tobio shows zero respect for authority, erratic behavior, lots of unexplained skipped classes. Plus, I think he’s got a lot of underlying hostility.

Hey guys!! I just published the first chapter of my new fanfic to Ao3. You can find it here!
It’s kind of trash rn since it’s one chapter long and unedited-
But it’s a kidfic bc I don’t think there are enough in the world where they don’t call the ‘bOtToM’ mom.
Anyways, if you do decide to read it, enjoy.

[ We are the Kings ]
Summary: But once again, he found himself chasing after Kageyama, the villain that was never caught. No matter how hard he tried, Kunimi could never keep up. He would leave all of the stars behind for Kageyama. Kageyama just never gave him the chance to.
Contains: Kagekuni, superhero/villain AU, language warning
A/N: Here’s the second kagekuni fic anon asked for! I don’t really ship but I wrote it for the wonderful person who left the amazingly nice comment anyway! It is a bit quick paced, sorry! - Mod Kunimi
Kunimi’s feet pounded against the rooftop, his ragged breath almost as loud as the racing of his heart. He leapt onto another building, barely catching himself before he stumbled off the edge. The edges of his stomach cramped, seizing up at the worst time possible.
Kunimi jumped towards another house, chasing the rapidly shrinking figure in the distance. He couldn’t let him get away, not again. As Kunimi landed onto the roof, his feet slipped. His face collided with the flat, concrete surface. Every nerve was set aflame. Kunimi shakily made his way to his feet again, and watched as the silhouette winked out of his vision.
Kunimi flipped off the general direction that the villain was in, and sank to his feet.
Fuck. Kageyama got away. Again.
Kunimi didn’t know what to do at this point. Even when Kageyama seemed so close, victory was a mirage. It slipped through his fingers, mocking him from afar. And Kunimi couldn’t do anything but continue to chase the false hope of ever catching Kageyama.
Catching him was like bottling the stars.
Impossible.
And even if Kunimi caught Kageyama, he would be forced to throw him in jail. Kageyama was the worst, most feared villain in all of Japan.
So of course, the universe thought it funny to set the two on opposite sides. Kunimi, a world-known, popular hero. Kageyama, the dark to his light. The shadow in the summer.
And Kunimi really liked him.
To put it in elementary terms, Kunimi really, really, really liked him. Liked him in a way that meant more than just respect.
But once again, he found himself chasing after Kageyama, the villain that was never caught. No matter how hard he tried, Kunimi could never keep up. He would leave all of the stars behind for Kageyama. Kageyama just never gave him the chance to.
Kunimi scaled down the side of the building, marinating in his own shame. Another battle lost. He paced down the sidewalk, cringing with ever scrape and bruise. He was going to take a long bath when he got home. He was going to sleep deeply, leaving behind the harsh whispers of reality. He was just going to go home.
Until a hand materialized from the shadows, and snatched him into the darkness.
When Kunimi’s eyes adjusted to the shade, his body stiffened.
“All of this time spent running, and I just could have waited for you to give yourself up? What a villain you are. Did you mean to grab me, or was that just terrible luck on your part?”
Kageyama narrowed his eyes, a smirk playing at his lips. “Are you done yet?”
Kunimi felt anger coursing through his veins. “I don’t know, are you done trying to blow up cities and make me drop my plans of rewatching my favorite TV series? To fight you?”
“Touche.”
Kunimi pushed Kageyama away from him. This was too good to be true. It had to be a trap. “So why exactly did you pull me into this very dark, mysterious alleyway? Isn’t that a bit cliched for such an original, cruel, all-powerful villain like you? Because I’m not sure that you remember that I’m literally paid to fight and capture you. I’m prepared for anything you can throw at me.”
Kageyama rolled his eyes in a perfect arc. “I just- you’re making this harder than it has to be for me.”
Kunimi snorted. “Well that’s great. I feel so terrible. For the person who’s tried to kill me a number of times. Because I’m making something hard for them.”
Kunimi could see how outraged Kageyama looked. He probably wasn’t used to people making fun of him to his face. People were usually terrified of him. What did Kageyama want to say, anyway?
“I’m done.”
Kunimi’s blood ran cold.
“I’m just- fuck. I’m done being the bad guy. I’m tired of hurting people and running from you. I’m just so fucking tired.”
“You do know that giving up isn’t going to get rid of all the crimes you committed, right? You still broke the law.”
“I know. I just wanted to say something to you before I let you take me away to prison. I just don’t want you to… well, I mean, you already hate me. But I don’t. I don’t hate you, I mean. I actually really, really-”
Kunimi cut him off. He was tired of hearing Kageyama ramble on, when he could just make the boldest move of his life. When else was he going to get this chance? He stood on his tiptoes to wrap his arms around Kageyama’s shoulders. They melted into a kiss that he never would have thought possible. But, for once, Kunimi had him. And he sure as hell wasn’t letting go.
Kageyama slightly pulled back, leaving Kunimi with a smirk. “Was that what you wanted?”
Kageyama could only nod.
A soft smile spread onto Kunimi’s lips, only showing a bit of the emotion inside him. “I’ve never seen you as an enemy, Kageyama. I just saw our game of fucking hide and seek as a challenge. You challenged me to find you. And now I have.”
Kunimi would think that Kageyama was just playing with his emotions. But now, in the star-speckled shade, he looked so… raw. Like he’d been split open. Not even the most secretive person could lie like this.
Kunimi leaned in, whispering so softly, he could barely hear himself. “We are the kings, Kageyama. I’m not putting you in jail. But I’ve seen you run before, and it’s time you do it again.”
Kunimi could feel distress radiating off of Kageyama. “But I told you, I’m done running.”
“No you’re not. I’m not letting you go to jail. Run just one last time, away from me and here. Please. For both of us.”
And Kageyama ran.
And Kunimi would never be sure if he made the right decision that night.
And the world kept turning, regardless.

(Endgame KageHina, unrequited IwaKage and YamaKage, VERY brief KuniKage, side TsukkiYama, implied IwaOi and KinKuni. Slight sexual themes.)
Iwaizumi Hajime was Kageyama’s first crush.
It was a creeping thing, so that he didn’t realize until his first year was almost gone. It didn’t come out of nowhere; looking back, his eyes would always end up on his senpai in the club room, guilt hanging in the pit of his stomach as he watched him change.
(The first time Kindaichi and Kageyama fought, it wasn’t over Kageyama’s attitude, but that he’d absentmindedly put on Kindaichi’s shirt while his attention was... elsewhere.)
((He didn’t really have to argue about it, but guilt and shame aren’t friends of reason.))
He’d watch Iwaizumi and Oikawa make plans, and feel things he didn’t know how to describe.
(He tried to ask along once, but the look Oikawa gave him made him think better, even as clueless as he might be.)
As their last game came to an end, Iwaizumi pat him on the back, and Kageyama felt naked.
He didn’t know it was a crush, though, until Iwaizumi laid a hand on his shoulder and wished him luck at graduation.
(He still wonders if Iwaizumi could tell.)
Kunimi Akira was Kageyama’s first kiss.
(Kageyama was Kunimi’s.)
It wasn’t a thing of feelings, or romance. They weren’t dating. They weren’t even friends. They were just on a bench together, some time after Iwaizumi had visited to check on his kouhai. Kageyama had been swimming in his feelings ever since, having put his inclinations aside until he saw his senpai again. And suddenly, it was a lot harder to not think about them, to wonder about boys and girls and where he was between them.
And Kunimi’s lips had looked so soft. And he wanted to know what it felt like, to kiss a boy. He wanted know if he really was gay.
It wasn’t a decision, really, but an impulse.
It lasted a second, before he pulled away, realizing his mistake.
Kunimi didn’t look disgusted or affronted, though. He just looked vaguely surprised. He was good at looking vague when it came to facial expressions. His eyes were just slightly wider, his eyebrows just lifted slightly higher, and his mouth just slightly open, and slightly curved downwards. It didn’t seem shocked, really. It looked more like he was told a secret he already knew, but wasn’t expecting the admission.
(He still wonders if Kunimi had known.)
As Kageyama was still in horror, red-faced and sweating, Kunimi’s face fell into his usual indifference. He considered a moment, shrugged, and leaned towards Kageyama.
And he still isn’t sure why, but Kageyama shoved him, and he feel off the bench and hit his head.
Kageyama didn’t apologize when they saw each other next. Kunimi didn’t ask for an apology. They didn’t really talk at all.
Yamaguchi Tadashi was Kageyama’s second (third?) crush.
It pissed him off, both because he wanted to hate the boy from association with Tsukishima, and because he had managed to once again forget what he was until he saw Yamaguchi’s kinder smile for the first time.
He could almost forget it, with how often he was with Tsukishima. If he stared (glared) too long, though, his mind would wander. He’d think about that smile, and those freckles, and about that voice of his, so excitable and sweet.
And Yamaguchi would inevitably notice, and turn his head away, nervous.
And Kageyama could break free, and forget it again.
The worst was when Yamaguchi had taken him to the nurse’s office. She’d been out, so Yamaguchi had sat him down on the bed, and cheerfully assured him he’d stay until the nurse came back, grabbing a wad of tissues, sitting right by him and pressing them to his nose.
It reminded him of that moment, a year ago, when Kunimi had been sitting by him, and Kageyama’s body had moved without his permission. He had more self control, this time around.
(He should really give Kunimi a call, or send him a letter, or anything. His pride kept him from saying it, but he did feel guilty.)
((Then again, Kunimi had seemed pretty pleased to fluster Kindaichi by saying he’d already had his first kiss and refusing to say who it was.))
(((Seeing them again at Aoba Johsai, he’d see the way Kunimi would smile smugly whenever he caught Kindaichi staring, and wonder how different his life would be if he hadn’t shoved Kunimi that day.)))
It was more relieving than painful when he realized what Tsukishima was to Yamaguchi.
It was less relieving when he walked in on them in a storage room.
(It was the first time he had seen anything but smug, irritated, or indifferent on Tsukishima’s face. He often finds himself asking how Yamaguchi could possibly be that powerful on his knees.)
It opened up too many questions. He liked boys, he knew that even if it was hard to come to terms with, but did he like them like... that? Would he want to be with them that way? Could he ask them something like this?
He’d spend more time on his computer that night than he should.
Hinata Shouyou would be his first boyfriend. Maybe the last. It wasn’t possible to tell.
He wasn’t sure how they got there. He also wasn’t sure how it’d taken them so long. He also wasn’t even sure they were boyfriends; they just kissed a lot. And spent a lot of time together. And hold hands.
And on one occasion, they shared a bed.
(It was a lot like how they started. Hinata had tackled him while they were competing, arguing. Hinata had smiled, feeling like he’d won. Kageyama had turned red, wrists held by the smaller boy. He didn’t remember how that led to them making out.)
((It was a lot like how they started. Hinata was on top of him.))
That probably made them boyfriends. Right?
He’d try to ask Yamaguchi, but whenever he asked to talk to him alone, Tsukishima, sour look on his face, would suddenly announce they had plans and lead Yamaguchi away.
(They must be doing something fun, Kageyama thinks, since Yamaguchi is always glowing the next time he sees him, and it doesn’t seem to bother him that he has trouble sitting, or that he has bruises dotted around his collar bone.)
((Kageyama is not bright enough to connect the dots.))
He should really ask Hinata, but whether they’re arguing until the tension leads to intimacy, or if they’re calm and quiet for once, Hinata’s warmth curled around him, he has to wonder if it matters if they have a word for what they were.

What is it, That drives a man forward when he's on the brink of death? When he's lost everything around him, and all but lost himself? What is it, then, that drives him to keep breathing? To keep looking up at the sky with shallow eyes and memories all but faded of the man he used to be, and of the man he once traveled the world with? When you're surrounded by ocean water and people who have never once asked if you were happy, what is is that compels you to keep waking up every morning, if not for hope?
