MY SPARKLECARE THEORY

The Number.

Y'all remember when the ZCP told us to not call the phone number Rem gives to Bright? You should not, I'm not sure if it's an actual number in real life; but if it happens to be, no one who's on the other side of the line will be happy.

To avoid curious viewers to obliterate someone's phone, what usually is done in media ever since in the 1960's in the U.S. and Canada is to have the phone number's central office code to be 555 as it's almost* guaranteed no civilian person will have such number for personal use or will link to any business. This only applies in the North American Numbering Plan of course.

Why didn't the ZCP use a 555 number then? They actually used one in the same volume, the phone number Lo dials to call the Citycountrytown Casting Agency is 555-2737.

What I get from this is that, if they didn't use a 555 number for the number at the end, it is because the numbers in it themselves carry some kind of information.

Such symbol has appeared before in Volume 1, where we see a escaped patient having it on a sign, and in Volume 2, where it is held by a protestor. As Eve mentioned once in this ask, such symbol which also appears in the blog, website and other stuff is NOT the hospital's logo. Then of what or who?

An anti-Sparklecare group?

It is clear that this symbol as shown in these examples, represents a statement against Sparklecare. What I supose is that, because Kittycorn doesn't want to reveal any further information of the protestors seen in volume 2, they will be relevant in a future volume or series. If we link these clues together, perhaps this symbol doesn't just represent the movement in general, but a specific organized group against Sparklecare, making it their logo. Then this would make Rem part of it too, and so Rem then becomes a very important piece in the story, because she's the infiltrated secret agent in the hospital. Knowing how heavily implied Doctor Party is to be an ESPer, he surely knows about Rem's undercover identity and about this organized group. Perhaps he's part of it too, if so, then they have another great important character against Cuddles.

A cipher?

Going back to the phone number, if the numbers in it are important and relevant, perhaps a piece of code is ciphered in it. My first thought was A1Z26 cipher, a simple sustitution code in which each letter gets a number assigned, so A is 1, B is 2; and so on.

The first six digits of the phone number, if you read them as 1-14-20-9 and decipher them using A1Z26, you get the word ANTI; which I really doubt this is just a coincidence knowing how it is implied this phone number belongs to an ANTI Sparklecare group.

The other four tho: 2425, are not that obvious. The possible combinations readable in A1Z26 are 2-4-2-5 (BDBE), 2-4-25 (BDY), 24-2-5 (XBE), and 24-25 (XY).

The only idea that comes to my mind is A-N-T-I-B-D-Y which is one letter off from "antibody". An antibody is protein belonging to the inmune system which will find, target and neutralize foreign and so-possibly harming bodies such as harmful bacteria and viruses.

An antibody's job is to protect the human body from what will harm it, and these anthries's hope seems to be to protect the patients from receiving any more harm from such heartless medical industry.

But Imma be honest, the four last digits are quite an stretch to analyze and I'm starting to doubt if the ANTI is a coincidence.

Q: What inspired you to join the bsd rp community?

A: Well, it's actually a funny story. I originally came her on Tumblr to look at Ivan Goncharov fan art, and I stumbled across an Ivan rp blog. I wanted to mess around and interact with them, though at the time, I was shy. I was being silly on my main before finding the Fukuzawa rp blog and wanted to interact as well. So I created Levi one day, and it went from there. I was having fun just messing around as silly anime OCs.

Q: What inspired you to make Nimone?

A: So when I created Levi and gave him his backstory, it involved this big 9 year war somewhat outside of Japan. I didn't want to use a real content or place, so I made one up!

Q: Who's your favorite oc that you have and why?

A: This one is a tough one since I keep changing who's my favorite. But I have a top three. On top is probably Felix III. He's such a try hard and silly. I love playing as him, and he's one of my favorites to draw. Not to mention all the running jokes I got for him as well such as the Raiden Shogun reference or kicking him down the stairs.

My second favorite is probably Cooper. Everyone about his characters developing is just so satisfactory to me and he's just a sweet little guy :3. Who also has a gun.

My third would be Fiona Delgado, because I like playing as an angry Hispanic accountant who will throw laptops at people or turn into a big dragon because she can.

Q: So you have a favorite ship for you OCs?

A: Oh this one is hard (probably because I'm a hopeless romantic). I really like the cute fluffy ones like Levi x Sayaka (not my oc) and Black X Arthur (not my oc) but then there are the funny ones like Felix III x X (my oc but got another mod playing as him). Though my favorite ship is probably Fiona Delgado x Ace. These two argue like a bitter married couple and it's hilarious. It's my brain rot and I love them.

Q: Milk chocolate or Dark chocolate?

A: DARK CHOCOLATE ALL THE WAY!

Q: What inspired you to make xy and all of your members in it?

A: Honestly, the creation of XY was all for Cooper's backstory. At first, it was just an unnamed criminal organization that I was going to solo as for rps, but someone offered to play as one of the characters, and I was excited. They named it (fun fact, it was actually called XV, but due to miss reading, we called it XY) and I decided that hey maybe this Mafia needs some members other than "unnamed henchmen" so I created a few members and I never thought it would actually get this far which is cool. Its entire creation was almost all unplanned.

Q: What is your process for coming up with OCs?

A: Well, it depends on the circumstance, but most of the time, I always start with the design. I'm more artistic visually, so when I make a design that I'm happy with then I build off of what I want for the character. After the design, I normally give them either their name and personality, and their ability last. Basically, adding anything that would make the character interesting or fit them.

and i'm with you on that!

in the past i've often gotten weird reactions when being passionate about things i liked, on top of being incredibly insecure. so i thought, i'd rather stick to observing and enjoying without participating. i was too shy even for fandom spaces! i kept that up for a long time, but recently i've realized that a fandom is only what you make of it, so i wanted to step out of my comfort zone for that :-)

i think that sentence in my review has probably come across as diminishing towards other fics and their authors. i'm sorry about that, that really wasn't my intention! it's just that i took the step with this particular story and used that fact to emphasize my appreciation. i aim to leave feedback on more fanfictions in the future and being increasingly braver in that regard

i feel kinda bad that i didn't take part sooner, but starting late is better than never and you can too, fellow lurkers! :)

And damn, I'm so sorry that you got weird reactions for being passionate about something, even more when you're already insecure and introverted, I totally get that. You decided to open up about a thing you liked, made yourself vulnerable - having people making fun of your or maybe calling you a weirdo or whatever happened is just so hurtful.

I'm so happy you got the courage to step out of your comfort zone and participate more, because yes - shared happyness is doubleing the happiness! :) I was one centimetre away from commenting on your comment, because damn - it was SO incredible! So thoughtful and perfectly on point and I thought that comments like these are worth so, so much! I nodded all the time while reading it.

And yes, I have to admit, I was feeling a little pain while reading it because yes, that particular fic is mindblowing - but there are so many other which are as well :) But once again, I totally get it - this was that one story that got you to move out of your comfort zone - it has to start with one, right? Better late than never, absolutely :)

I'm an introvert myself, clearly, so I absolutely can relate, as I said. But I feel that posting a story is an even bigger step than commenting. Posting a story you've written let's people look inside your heart and mind (at least it's like that with my storys, so I'm talking about myself now..). Readers instantly know, what I like, what I find hot, what I want to emphasize, if I have a connection to something or not, what my humor is like, even what my kinks are. So I think an author clearly put him/herself out there when posting a story.

I personally don't necessarily need comments to finish a story, because I always finish it before posting, and I enjoy writing very much.

But the greatest gift to an author, and what also keeps my motivation up is (in MY opinion) finding people who are likeminded. Who pick up certain sentences the author already giggled about while writing and say "hey, that sentence was so funny!". Who tell you you nailed it. Who suffered with your characters just like you as an author did. I had people telling me they cried over my fics, that it send a tingle down their groin - or that they are rereading them! All of this creates so much more joy for both author and reader than just writing and reading it silently :) It's so great to think "oh my god, I'm so curious what XY will think about this!" or "I bet XY will like this, it's so up his/her alley!" :D

Never Let Me Go D/s breakdowns Ep 4

As of right now, there is no D/s relationship, friendship or otherwise. Is there a D/s element? Yes! Palm is without a doubt submissive. The verdict is still out on Nueng. Is there a power imbalance? Abso-fucking-lutely. But is there a distinct power play line between work and play? That's the question. One that has only gotten murkier rather than clearer, but I'm a determined bitch.

Phum deserved what he got, but Palm really didn't. We're seeing an interesting dynamic here. Nueng wants to go to defend Palm, but Palm stops him. Now, I can hear you guys now. The way Palm is talking to Nueng isn't submissive. Actually... It is. So once again, submissive doesn't equal doormat, and it doesn't mean that they won't speak their mind. It's in the phrasing. It's in the body language. We see confidence but don't domination. This would be the same way my husband would talk to me when he is aware that he has more knowledge on the subject.

The way Palm let his hand glide down to grab Nueng's fingers before letting go! Then that little smile. Oh, my goodness.

Nueng goes back and forth on how he uses his dominance. Sometimes it really is Dom, but most of the time it's to cover how nervous or unsure he is. It's a like a mask that he slides into place. However, when Palm asked him if the teacher assigned them together, we see the real Nueng come out. That smile. This playful Nueng is really him.

"No. I chose you to be my partner. I chose to work with Pannakorn Jannaloy. Does Mr. Pannakorn have a problem with it? Do you want to change your partner?"

See the Dominance we see, at this moment, where he enters the room and talks about scolding him. That's real.

There is a lot of D/s in this particular conversation. Let me type it out for you to see.

"Let me put my clothes on." Palm is more asking than he is telling. "This is your room. Do whatever you want." See the permission and dominance in this statement? Then Palm sits on the floor and Nueng looks at him like he is stupid and pulls him up on the bed. "What are you doing? Why are you sitting on the floor? You can sit here. Are you a slave? Get up and sit here. Why are you so afraid of me? That’s it."

OH DAMN!!! See the way Nueng grabbed Palm's jersey. Palm liked that. Woot! Okay then.

And here we go with the foreshadowing again. "Why did you pick the number 13? Did you know that 13 is an unlucky number for Chinese people? 1 + 3 = 4. Number 4 in Mandarin sounds similar to the word ‘dead’." But there is hope because look how Palm responds. "I don’t pay attention to things like luck. No matter what number I wear, I will do my best to win the game. I will overcome any obstacles." Palm doesn't believe in luck, but he believes in fate.

Now we know Chopper is a liar.

Nueng is a very jealous boy. It causes him to go very Dom and Palm loves it. He brats back. Yeah, that's the dynamic he likes.

More fucking foreshadowing. "I found out about Qi Xi Jie. It falls on the 7th day of the 7th Chinese lunar month. It’s the day celebrating the tragic love between the weaver girl and the cowherd. This is their story. The weaver girl who lived in heaven fell in love with the cowherd. They were living together for years. When the wife of the Jade Emperor found out about their relationship, she interfered between them. She drew a river in the sky to separate them. The queen was later moved by their love. They were allowed to meet each other on a bridge formed by magpies. But they can only meet once a year." "It’s a story of impossible love." "I feel sorry for them. They loved each other but couldn’t be together." "But I think it’s romantic. The two of them overcame major obstacles for their love. Even though they could meet only once a year, they were patiently waiting for the day. That must be tormenting. If you were them, would you wait for that day?" Then we get hope, "If I was them, I would wait for it. When I love someone, I can endure everything for that person. Maybe it’s because of the long waiting and their different backgrounds, that makes their love become a legend. The queen might want to test their love."

So I asked one of my darlings about this story and this is what she told me, "Only once a year, but they will always meet on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month. That day is now the Chinese equivalent of Valentine's Day. It represents everlasting love."

I love this next moment so much.

And Palm looking directly at what he wants.

"Just make me proud." This is Dom and the way Palm responds is very subby. Then the way Palm proceeds to work his ass off is very subby. For instance. I told @thequeenofsastiel that I was expecting a fanfic by the end of I Will Knock You. Who wants to lay bets that she's already started an outline?

I don't like Ben. Just saying. Awe! Poor Palm. This next part is very D/s.

"What’s wrong with you? Why are you answering me curtly? You also don’t look at me." "It’s nothing. May I be excused? I need to go help Aunt Nid." I can see why it would be confused with Boss and employee, but you got to put ALL the parts together. "Wait. You need to talk to me first. What’s wrong with you?" "Nothing. I don’t have a right to be mad at you." "Just tell me what’s going on here. Aren’t we friends?" See, even though Nueng will become Dominant, he doesn't associate himself with Dominant and boss. He sees himself as Dominant with a friend. Does he blur this? Absolutely, but so does Palm. Which is why we are all fucking confused. Right now though, Nueng is not boss, he is friend. "If we are friends, we should be able to talk to each other about everything. Why don’t you answer me? If you have something you want to say, just say it. You are easy to read. You cannot hide your feelings from me." This is a very interesting comment. How much truth does it hold? Not much considering the next convo, but we continue to see a D/s element to the conversation. Down to Palm asking to be excused.

And Nueng acts like a shithead in his jealousy. Notice that Palm doesn't mind being submissive to Nueng, but he has an issue with being treated inferior.

Math is Hard

Update on my odissey of trying to improve on vector rendering techniques using conic intersections, and I've stumbled on a problem that I was not ready for... math is fucking hard >.<.

I mean, lets go back... my Idea seemed solid in my head, in my previous post I came to a conclusion that the default SDF font rendering technique was similar to describing a curve Ax + Bxy +Cy +D = 0, my idea was precalculating those parameters for each pixel so we no longer needed to use linear interpolation, and then we could edit te final result being mindifull and precise about how exacly it would scale. Since I would already compute the valuer per pixel i could just go the extra mile and do the full conic formula Ax^2 + Bxy +Cy^2 +Dx + Ey + F = 0.

So i got a few tests going, created a shader in Godot, to get subpixel coordinates and caculate conic values for each pixel.

The problem is that dealing with 6 abstract parameters per pixel is really hard, so i came up with the idea of doing a 3d representation of the conic and the plane. So we would manipulate directly the cone position, it would be something like this:

I would define a cone by a point P, a direction V and a linear coefficient a.

So here i go puting my sings on the paper and I quickly notice that I'm gonna fill alots of sheets to get to an answer and looking at my track record i'll surelly get something wrong .

So I got searching for something to manage those formulas for me.

Geogebra was kinda cool, but it fell short of allowing me to manipulate the formulas in the way that i wanted, i tried a few other scientific calculators.

I didn't like symbolab, somehow it felt too complicated and too simple, kind like it would be amazing if I was doing homework or had ne of the specific kind of problems it is designed to deal with.

In a fit of despair I tryied chatGPT, and I had the classic chatGPT experience, at the start i got amazed with how it gave me a result that looked like what i was expecting, but then I noticed that it halucinated new terms in my formula, and even when i got rid of those I had absolutelly no way to validate the result, and in the end I would have to redo all the work =.= , but yeah, I'm sure I'll find a use for it in a few years.

The one that I felt that was actually usefull was something called SageMath, it seems to be kind of a wrapper that unify dozens of python math librarires it gave me a way to decrlare variables, execute vector math with them, and manipulate the resulting expressions.

The result made me happy that i didn't follow trough with the plan of doing it all by hand. well, Lat this stage i still had to paste the expression to a text editor, separate the elments tha depend on x^2, xy, y^2,x, y, and 1, past it back to SageMath to simplify, then I could hack a small editor in Godot and:

well, i still have some tweaking to do to make the coordinate system play well with the one in godot, but a big part of the math is solved. well, if it usefull for anyone I'll link a pastebin with the resulting formula

hopefully I will keep making progress and this can become a tool for developers at some point :)

I did this one for my roomate who is intersex. I'm not great the best with this sort of thing, and I'm not intersex, but I wanted to share some cited facts about intersex people on behalf of the intersex person I love. And I ask you read because intersex people deserve our respect and if you just fucking need to hear it to care: you definitely know, and maybe love at least one intersex person.

If you've never heard the term intersex, it is an umbrella term for people born with "non-standard" sex characteristics. Perisex is the opposite, people both clearly and plainly male or female.

About 1 in every 100 people are born with bodies which differ from the standard idea of male and female. That makes intersex people as common as redheads!!!

About 1 in every 1,666 people are simple born with neither XX or XY chromosomes

1 in every 1,000 people are given surgery to "correct" the genitals they were born with because they are intersex

Most of these people are operated on under the age of 2, obviously unable to consent. These surgeries can cause lifelong chronic pain, incontinence, inaccurate gender assignment, and more.

Some people who are intersex are cis, and some are trans. It's really down to the person!

Intersex is a a term for a variety of medically studied body situations, but that doesn't mean it needs to be treated inherently. There's nothing wrong or scary about being intersex!!! Some intersex people need healthcare related to their diagnosis, and some people do not.

But that means if you think you are intersex, you should probably seek a diagnosis!!

That being said, some people live their entire lives with no idea they are intersex. Some people are even lied to about their doctors about their diagnosis.

I'm adding sources below the cut, but I'm adding way more than just what's in this post, videos, articles, etc, and I am literally begging people take some time to educate yourselves on intersex people. Intersex people exist outside of awareness days, but supposed allies often don't act like it, we could all do better.

oooh interesting. I mean, depends on their respective endings and how happy-adjacent they are/what form that takes. in honesty as far as Xue Yang goes I don't know that he's going to be anything approaching happy as long as Xiao Xingchen stays dead, unfortunately, which is a major bummer considering the, uh, likelihood of that happening. I've gone on record saying that by canon era Xue Yang is running on fumes and running out of fumes. I think Jin Guangyao's chances are a little better; I feel like while he might not be happy fleeing the country with his mother's body and never coming back, he could live with it, at least.

but taking plausibility out of the picture...I mean, honestly I think they'd both be happy for each other. or, well, Jin Guangyao would be happy for Xue Yang in a pretty straightforward way, because I do think he genuinely liked and cared about Xue Yang, he was just a huge liability and a loose cannon. I know there's theories going around that Jin Guangyao wasn't behind Xue Yang's near death at all - that he turned him loose but was basically just putting him under a cup and letting him outside - but I don't tend to go with that read because (a) I find it crunchier if there's the conflicted feelings but ultimately :\ what are the options, realistically and (b) while we do know that Jin Guangyao will leave extreme liabilities alive (Sisi, to name one), I think that also requires him feeling like he has some kind of ability to control them, and Xue Yang is just. "controlling" Xue Yang is, I think, always kind of a function of just pointing him more or less in the direction you want him to go and managing the collateral damage.

but I don't think Jin Guangyao was upset finding out he survived. I think it might even be a bit of a relief, even if it is potentially concerning for self-preservation reasons.

but yeah, all that being said, basically for Jin Guangyao I think it would be this sort of indulgent "oh that's nice for him, good" and some relief because a happy Xue Yang is a substantially less dangerous Xue Yang. and for Xue Yang I think Jin Guangyao's at least continued survival would actually really delight him, the more so if it was in spite of or after everybody turns on Jin Guangyao, because Xue Yang would be like.

YEAH!!! FUCK EM A-YAO GET YOURS :D in the enthusiastic way he gets whenever people Xue Yang likes less (most of them) end up losing out to Jin Guangyao. as far as he's concerned they deserve it and a-Yao is too nice and probably everyone involved should suffer more. he has ideas and will share them in detail and at length. whatever Xue Yang's resentments of or anger at Jin Guangyao about anything, he is always going to take his side against...pretty much anybody else in the entire cultivation world, with the exception of Xiao Xingchen (and maybe a-Qing, and maybe Song Lan by proxy, depending).

Jin Guangyao, regardless of how things played out, is probably feeling substantially less triumphant about any of it than Xue Yang is on his behalf. particularly if his "victory" just entails "survival." but that's why Xue Yang has to do it for him.

(the funny thing about all of this though is that while I said up there that Jin Guangyao's chances might be a little better, I meant that purely in terms of what he needs to survive. unfortunately, there are a lot more people a lot more invested in tearing Jin Guangyao down than there are people who care what happens to Xue Yang - so in that sense, purely practically speaking, the odds of him getting out of this story alive are, in fact, worse.)
