The article titled "Surefire XSC Review — Perfect Hellcat Tactical Light?" by Will Dabbs, MD, discusses the advantages and features of the SureFire XSC WeaponLight, particularly when mounted on micro-compact pistols like the Springfield Hellcat. The XSC, described as small and robust, emits 350 lumens of light, and is designed for quick and seamless integration with the pistol's rail. Dr. Dabbs emphasizes the importance of weapon-mounted lights for self-defense, using the historical context of a Memphis police siege to highlight the evolution of tactical lighting. The article reviews various aspects of the XSC, such as its sturdy aluminum construction, user-friendly bilateral control switches, and a proprietary rechargeable battery system designed for easy swaps without dismounting. Ultimately, the XSC is praised for adding significant tactical efficacy to small defensive pistols without compromising their portability.

Star Wars The Bad Batch Lula Tooka Doll Crochet Pattern
I’m desperately trying to publish this so tumblr is my last resort.
Star Wars - The Bad Batch - Lula Pattern
This tutorial is not really for beginners, you might need to improvise and problem solve quite a lot, since my pattern tests never really come out the same, but with a little bit of patience and freestyle you’re going to be just fine.
Materials used:
Acrylic Yarn, black and red (2 skeins black; 100g/170m; 1 skein red; 100g/170m)
crochet hook 5mm
These are the ones I used for my bigger Lula, you may also use smaller yarn and smaller crochet hooks for a differently sized result.
plushie filling/stuffing
scissors
tapestry / darning needle
optional:
stitchmarkers
acrylic paint, felt, buttons for the face, much to your preference
a patch for screen accuracy
Abbreviations:
sc - single crochet
sl st - slip stitch
inc - increase
dec - decrease
invdec - invisible decrease
xx - follow the previous instructions x times
[xsc, xinc, (xx)] - follow the instructions in the bracket x times
Let’s start with the ears!
First Ear
red colour
start with a magic ring
rd. 1 6sc in mr
rd. 2 2sc, 1inc, 2sc, 1inc (8sc)
rd. 3 3sc, 1inc, 2x (10sc)
rd. 4 4sc, 1inc, 2x (12sc)
rd. 5 5sc, 1inc, 2x (14sc)
rd. 6 6sc, 1inc, 2x (16sc)
rd. 7-12 16sc around
rd. 13 7sc, 1inc, 2x (18sc)
rd. 14-15 18sc around
rd. 16 8sc, 1inc, 2x (20sc)
rd. 17-18 20sc around
rd. 19 9sc, 1inc, 2x (22sc)
rd. 20-22 22sc around
change colour to black
rd. 23-26 22sc around
rd. 27 10sc, 1inc, 2x (24sc)
rd. 28-30 24sc around
rd. 31 1sc, 1inc, 12x (36sc)
sl st into first sc of the next row, fasten off and cut tail
For the second ear you can either follow the instructions for the first ear or, for a more screen accurate version (one ear appears to be bigger than the other), follow those instructions. The most important part is that you do not fasten off the second ear because we’re going to crochet them together.
Second Ear
red colour
start with a magic ring
rd. 1 6sc in mr
rd. 2 2sc, 1inc, 2x (8sc)
rd. 3 1sc, 1inc, 4x (12)
rd. 4 2sc, 1inc, 4x (16sc)
rd. 5-6 16sc around
rd. 7 7sc, 1inc, 2x (18sc)
rd. 8-10 18sc around
rd. 11 8sc, inc, 2x (20sc)
rd. 12-15 20sc around
rd. 16 9sc, 1inc, 2x (22sc)
rd. 17-20 22sc around
rd. 21 10sc, 1inc, 2x (24sc)
change colour to black
rd. 22-30 24sc around
rd. 31 1sc, 1inc, 12x (36sc)
Now that you finished both ears we’re going to connect them to form the head. This is where some improvisation might be needed.
Push the hook through one stitch of the first and one of the second ear, sc both ears together. Do this another 9 times, so that the ears are connected by 10sc in total.
32. sc along one ear until there is one more stitch left before the ‘ridge’ work one decrease, using this next stitch and the one on the other ear just behind the valley
sc around the other ear
do the same once you come to the valley again, work one decrease using one stitch from each ear
33. sc along the ears, decreasing along the valley to make it a smooth row
decrease as needed, so that your row has a total of 50 stitches and begins right at
the ‘beginning’ of the ear
As you continue: fill up the ears and the head to your preference, how much stuffing you use is up to you, I tend to make mine quite stiff since I can’t really achieve the same amount of ‘floppiness’ as in the show.
rd. 34-36 50sc around
rd. 37 23sc, 1invdec, 2x (48sc)
rd. 38 2sc, 1invdec, 12x (36sc)
rd. 39-40 36sc around
rd. 41 2sc, 1inc, 12x (48sc)
rd. 42 7sc, 1inc, 7x (54sc)
rd. 43 54sc around
rd. 44 3sc, 1invdec, 11x, (44sc)
rd. 45 44sc around
rd. 45 3sc, 1invdec, [2sc, 1invdec (10x)], 3sc (34sc)
rd. 46 2sc, 1invinc, [1sc, 1invdec, (9x)], 3sc (24sc)
rd. 47 1sc, 1dec, 8x (16sc)
fasten off and leave a long tail to sew the head to the body
Legs and Body
red colour
start with a magic ring
rd. 1 8sc in mr
rd. 2 inc 8x (16sc)
rd. 3 1sc, 1inc, 8x (24sc)
rd. 4 4sc, back loop only
rd. 5-13 24sc around
change colour to black
rd. 14-15 24sc around
rd. 16 1sc, 1inc, 12x (36sc)
fasten off, make the second foot in the same way but leave the yarn attached
We’re going to connect the legs in the exact same way we did with the ears, by connecting them with 10sc.
rd. 17 follow along the one leg, once you’re one sc away from the ridge work one decrease (2sctog), using one sc of each leg to connect them further and that valley so you have a smooth round
follow along the other leg and do the same once you come to that valley again, try to close it up as nicely as you can
You may need to work additional decreases along this row so you’ll have a total number of 51 stitches.
While you continue stuff the body to your preferences.
rd. 18 51sc crochet around
rd. 19 7sc, 1inc, (1sc, 1inc, 18x), 7sc (70sc)
rd. 20-22 70sc around
rd. 23 3sc, 1invdec, 14x (56sc)
rd. 24-31 56sc around
rd. 32 5sc, 1invdec, 8x (48sc)
rd. 33 48sc arond
rd. 34 6sc, 1invdec, 6x (42sc) rd. 35-38 42sc around
rd. 39 [2sc, 1invdec, (2x)], [1sc, 1invdec, (9x)], [2sc, 1invdec, (2x)] (30sc)
rd. 40 30sc around
rd. 41 14invdec, 2sc (16sc)
fasten off and sew head to body
Arms
red colour start with a mr
rd. 1 6sc in mr
rd. 2 inc 6x (12sc)
rd. 3 1sc, 1inc, 6x (18sc)
rd. 4 18sc back loop only
rd. 5-13 18sc around
change to black
rd. 14-19 18sc around
rd. 20 inc 18x (36sc)
fasten off and leave a long tail on for sewing
make a second arm
whether you stuff the arm is up to you
sew arms on both sides of the body
Finishing Touches
Now that you’ve assembled your doll, how you decorate it is up to you. You can either paint on the face with acrylic paint, or cut it out and sew it on/glue it on with white felt. The same goes for the red eyes, you can either paint them, make them out of felt patch or even use red buttons.
For more screen accuracy you can also add a patch to the back of your doll, make it look a little worn or crochet one line along the middle of your doll to replicate the seam.
Done! Good job!
