So I read this cool fic by @csdp-disasterhotline and I really wanted to do fanart of it. I am not sure if I managed to make the conversion from skin to scales this time, but I tried.

Despite watching XS multiple times and being vaguely aware when it came out I had never watched XC

Despite having seen some clips from XC ages ago it's really not what I expected.

Im ngl the CGI Tron ass Showdowns made me laugh a little at how unexpected they where

The VA changes were expected but still feel strange! (Clay in particular loses his southern charm)

Also; look at how they massacred my boy

They took peak design and fumbled the bag.

Also why does he get his red eyes back in the 2010 Wii game shovel wear ass CGI

I do actually think the showdowns having an animation style change is very cool and could have been done well. I just don't think the CGI aged well.

Willow/shadows design goes hard as fuck!

The jealousy arc from Omi is kinda annoying but he is so cute I literally can't stop loving him. I'm so glad he kept the same VA because it would probably be unwatchable otherwise.

Ping pong is cute but is literally Omi 2. Him speaking lots of languages at the start was pretty cute!

Chase is serving high camp but he's only in it for one scene

I'm ngl watching feels like watching a young kids fanfic of XS.

I'll write an actual review at some point but damn if I would have tuned in expecting more XS i'd have been a little disappointed but tentatively hopeful?

I guess I'll have to watch more.

Hey, been a while! I haven't been posting much due to the fact that I got gravely sick these past few months (+ stress from other personal stuff) and couldn't be bothered to go on here much. But now that I'm feeling slightly better, thought I'd drop in and show some character design stuff I did of my OCs for my fic (im still working out the kinks so the next update won't be out for a while sadly)

Spoiler warning tho, cuz I haven't written these characters in yet

First off, here's a refined version of my OC I previously showed before (she still doesn't have a concrete name yet but for now I'm calling her "JD" (which is short for "Jane Doe"))

She serves as a key role in the main story, as an unsuspecting bean has plans for her that she's not ready to face on.

Next OC I want to introduce is a personal favorite of mine: Soul!

In this fic, Soul is heavily connected to Chase Young's past; more specifically, Chase Young's early days of joining Heylin. I wanted to explore what it was like for Chase having to grow accustomed to the Heylin side the moment he switched sides, and Soul plays a big role in shaping who he is today.

Honestly I can't wait to write those chapters because their history together is... something. (And also Soul goes thru an unexpected character growth since the last time Chase saw him)

Last OC I wanna introduce is Lady Lian! I don't want to dive deep into her role cuz I want her story to be completely spoiler-free. But just know that there's a reason her hair and eye color is similar to JD's.

Hopefully my health will improve soon so that I can finally share this one XS story that I've stored in my brain since I was 17 :))

Magic School Chack...

Magic School with Older more popular student Chase and younger genius at magical arts Jack who are in the same classes, but Jack lacks finesse and is more adept at craft involving magic rather than manipulation.

Chase always makes it look so easy and never looks Jack's way. Jack envys how gracefully refined Chase's magic is versus his own energy buzzing magic.

Chase's is like the wind, morphing and flowing freely to his will, while Jack's magic is alive, and his way to control it well is to build magic instruments. It gives his magic purpose. His always gave off a vibration like a sound wave that was tied to his emotion.

He was a genius at craft but at basic manipulation he looks like a fool in front of his idol Chase.

One day, half asleep, Jack makes a mistake and blows a WHOLE FLOOR in his dorm room. He is then moved across the door of his idol and everyone who bullies him.

It is his worst nightmare and his roommate is a frequent womanizer so Jack often spends his nights in the study room nearby. Night after night he is getting more tired of everything, from passive aggressive comments and bullying and his lack of being able to even be in his own fucking room.

It all comes to a head when Jack gets told to leave the room so his roommate can get frisky with a girl and Jack has an exam next day that he isn't ready for.

Jack gets pushed too far and the moment the other pokes him aggressively. That's when the redhead gets the door shut on him and that is when Jack grabs the door handle and feels himself tearing the whole door apart.

The magic in his fingers just somehow popping every hinge and ever lock flipped to neutral and that's when Jack bangs on the door so it falls.

The noise causing everyone to pop their head out and the resident officers to come out of their rooms in a huff. Everyone is yelling as Jack walks the halls half insane as he drags his fingers against each door and almost with the ease of breathing, undoes every door belonging to any asshole who talked bad on him.

He was grabbed before he could get the otherside of the hall.

Jack is in detention but not alone as he sees a few people in it as well include top student Chase Young.

The group just stands and leaves. Jack just watches them go and just works on things while he is in detention until the next day, Chase pulls him out the detention door alone.

He pushes Jack against a locker door and tells him to open it. Jack uses his magic and Chase waves him off after he is done.

Pissed off at the attitude despite needing his help, Jack leans against a water fountain across, not knowing his magic was working and suddenly the water sprays Chase's body.

Soaking and aghast, Chase growls at him and Jack starts to run, but laughing against his will. Chase had looked like a wet cat and now Chase made it his mission to hunt Jack in between every class. Quickly a game of fear on Jack's part and one of revenge on Chase's part.

The top student slowly making his life miserable...but why does Jack love it?

Chapter 1: Soul Bases and Colors

White (upside down) - Monster Soul (Love)

Shades of Gray - Lost Soul, Lost their traits (Can be gained back {colored gray}, or get new traits {Completely cloud gray}: Can be done so through experiences and relationships)

Dusty White - No trait (They haven't discovered their traits yet, so like really young children or ???)

Cracked Souls (Charcoal Cracks) - Suffer from Mental Illness/Addictions/Accidents (Can be healed with time, care, and love) Can cause mental, emotional illnesses and issues. With the Main 7 Traits of souls, it can invert them, causing them physical pain and personality flips.

Healed Cracks (Colored Lines) - Depending on how the crack was healed/solved, the line will take on the color of the secondary trait or of the soul color that was used to fix the causation of the crack. (If a Yellow soul used patience to solve a Justice issue, the crack would be healed with a cyan line)

Fractured Souls (pieces are missing) - Suffered/Commited accidents/crimes/major injuries (Can be healed with time, care, and love) Can cause major emotional, mental, and severe physical illnesses and issues.

Fracture Fixes (Parts being restored) - If a soul is fractured, however they are regaining health and events have caused healing, then the fractures can slowly grow back the pieces missing. These pieces could look discolored compared to the other parts (lighter or darker, like spots) or even perhaps be grayed out.

Darkened/Black Souls - Evil, Hatred, Psychopathic, Sociopathic etc. These souls are corrupted and feel mostly nothing but negative emotions. These are criminals who have committed the worst of the worse crimes, and (usually) can NOT be redeemed. HOWEVER... Some can, especially by certain other Souls.

Color blotches/Shapes/Marks on the Soul - Lucky you! This means you have a soul mate! Everyone has one, some have 2, others have many more! The more marks on the heart, the more soul mates you have! The marks appear once you make contact with your soul mate, but they become vibrant once bonded! There are 2 types of soulmates, romantic and platonic. Romantic soul marks have a golden ring around them, while platonic has a silver ring. Monster soul mate marks are heart shaped, while human soul mate marks are star shaped.

PS: Soulmates are found through touch, however you can get a 6th sense feeling around a soulmate. Soulmarks ONLY appear after touching your soulmate... in some way.

Opal White Ring Around the Soul (human) - Wow! You are able to use Magic! You have the bloodline of one of the 7 powerful mages that sealed Monster's away. The only way to 'activate' the magic first hand would be to be taught by a monster. Who teaches you, will help decide what magic you can use. Commentary: My submission for the 2023 Touken Ranbu Secret Santa. And an example of my lamentable time management skills. Though, in my defence, this is the fourth fic I wrote and one of only two that wasn't rage yeeted into the void (the other surviving one is undergoing massive rewrites to be a multichaptered fic). Yes it drops off at the end, but I'm surviving off 5hrs sleep, countless cups of tea and a washing machine that is determined to kill me with stress, so... *vague gestures*
