Please don't forget A Muppet Family Christmas in your Xmas watches this year! A Muppet Christmas Carol gets a lot of hype, but this is my personal favorite Muppet Christmas special. It's around 45 minutes long, it's charming and sweet, it includes a crossover with Fraggle Rock and Sesame Street, and there's a special cameo at the end! ❤️

virtues favorite holiday is Christmas! There is something very sweet to her about the whole thing, and she likes to wish Jesus a happy birthday, so...

Otherwise, to Virtue, holidays are just fantastic. The fact humans will take any opportunity to get together and celebrate something is part of why she likes them so much. It's charming to her, even if the original story or symbolism gets a little mangled on the way. (She still doesn't understand where elves come into this).

pulling out the british dyke card to give some context to the bummy slur drama.

so personally I’ve never seen the phrase “bummer” used as a slur in the same way you’d call someone a fairy etc. (though I’m sure usage does exist, & the uk is an incredibly accent/dialect dense country so ymmv)

however a fairly common, if outdated, term I have heard in the wild is “bumming” which is basically a slang equivalent to sodomy or buggery and has the same connotations. i.e a derogatory way to refer to gay sex. and fwiw it is genuinely where my mind went when I saw bummy pitched as a name.

idrc if bvddie shippers wanna come up with a mean nickname, but if ppl start to point out the one you land on is uncomfortably similar to a slur maybe just stop using it. especially if others start doubling down and actually using it as a slur to taunt mlm fans specifically.

‘but we didn’t know!’ or ‘but it’s not a slur here!’ Hot take but if we can learn there’s a time and a place the word f*g (a historically completely innocuous word in the uk) is not appropriate maybe you guys can do us a solid on this one?

December 18th: Homemade Christmas Dinner

Warnings: mentioned kidnapping, kidnapping, kidnapping family, Yandere family, Yandere stuff

“That was eventful!” your kidnapper said as he walked into the house behind you.

You two had just gotten back from Christmas at his family's house and all you can say is yes it was eventful. All of them were like you and your so-called husband and it wasn't hard to tell which one was the kidnapped one.

“At least we're home,” you sighed as you set everything that you were holding on the floor by the tree. “It's almost dinner time and we still haven't opened our presents yet.”

“Do you want to start dinner or do you want me to?” your husband asked as he set the rest of the stuff down on the floor as well.

“I’ll unpack everything while you start dinner,” you said as you looked at all the luggage and presents on the floor. “We sure got a lot of junk from your family didn't we?”

“Yeah,” he said while wrapping your arms around you. “They love you though.”

“Especially your brother,” as you said that you felt his arms wrap tighter around you. “He was also the only one who did not have anyone.”

“I don't want you around him anymore,” he whispered in your ear before slowly letting go of you. “I'm going to go start dinner.”

“Okay, baby,” you whispered before turning around so you could kiss his cheek. “I'll put all this away.”

You started by taking your and your husband's suitcases to the laundry room and putting all the dirty clothes in the laundry basket. After you put all the dirty clothes in the laundry, you took your and your husband's suitcases to y’all’s room so you could put all the clean clothes away. Once you were done with that you put the suitcases away in the storage closet before going back to the living room and taking out all the gifts out of their boxes and bags.

This is some cool stuff!

You put the gifts that belonged in your and your husband’s room in that room before putting the other gifts away in their corresponding rooms.

Finally done!

“Babe, I'm done putting everything away,” you said as you walked into the kitchen. “Is there anything else you need me to do?”

“Uhh yeah,” he said before pointing at the oven. “Can you please get that out the timer is about to go off?”

“Yeah,” you said as you walked to the oven. “I can do that!”

You grabbed the oven mitt as you opened the oven door before putting the mitten on and taking the food out. After taking out the food you set it on top of the oven before closing the oven door and taking off the mitten.

“Anything else you need from me?” you asked as you looked at your husband.

“No,” he said as he turned to look at you. “I don't think so.”

“Okay,” you said before putting your arms around him. “When can we eat?”

“Now if you want but some of it will be hot,” he said as he put his hands on your waist. “But we can wait if that's what you want.”

“No,” you said as you pulled away from him and got a plate. “I want to go ahead and eat our homemade Christmas dinner before opening presents.”
